[[AC:Other Publishers:]]
* ''ComicBook/AstroCity'' has Thatcher Jerome, a high-ranking member of the Deacon's mob who makes money through various shakedowns. He's also HappilyMarried to his wife Rachel and frets over their two kids.
* ''ComicBook/{{Birthright}}'': Even though God-King Lore is a brutal and relentless despot, he is revealed to genuinely care for his daughter [[spoiler:Mastema]] albeit in a very twisted manner; he seeks to [[DaddysLittleVillain mold her into his heir]] by securing her training with magical teachers and tried to provide her with children of her age for companionship. Unfortunately for him, she hates him for being an EvilOverlord and [[RebelliousPrincess ends up rebelling against him]], which frustrated Lore to no end.
* In the Franchise/{{Buffyverse}} comic ''Tales of the Vampires'', one story is about a man who is the father of a toddler is turned into a vampire, however he genuinely continues to love his son and raises the young boy just like any other father. The story shows that the vampire is ''not'' a FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire, he does still seek out humans to feed on and likely kills many, but the son is exempt no matter what happens or how much time passes. The story ends on a tragic note; the son eventually grows old and gets back in touch with his father, who once again takes care of him as the son's health becomes increasingly frail. Then one night as the son is near death, a Slayer bursts into the room and before either father or son can react or say anything, she slays the vampire, only realizing that the vampire was no danger to the old man afterwards. She's shocked to learn that the vampire was taking care of him, and awkwardly asks if the vampire was the man's son. The old man, so weak he can barely speak, decides not to correct her because it just wasn't worth the effort, thinking that was close enough anyway.
* ''ComicBook/Dynamo5'': Mother and daughter supervillain team Chrysalis and Synergy appear to be close to each other, and Chrysalis claims to have been in love with Captain Dynamo, the father of her daughter Synergy.
* One of the enemies Indy encounters in ''ComicBook/TheFurtherAdventuresOfIndianaJones'' is Ilsa Toht, the sister of Major Arnold Ernst Toht from ''Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk''. She followed in her brother's footsteps and serves the Third Reich in order to extract vengeance on Dr. Jones.
* ''Franchise/GIJoe'':
** The ''Hearts and Minds'' miniseries of the 2008 [[ComicBook/GIJoeIDW IDW continuity]] shows that part of Major Bludd's motivation to continue working for Cobra is the affluent lifestyle he is able to provide for his family by doing so. Bludd is haunted by the memories of growing up poor after his father, a humble miner, lost his job through no fault of his own, and has vowed to never suffer a similar fate or allow his wife and children to be miserable and go hungry because of a downsizing, corporate merger, or JobStealingRobot. The story doesn't shy away from showing Bludd doing bad things, indeed it starts off with him on a job from Cobra where he kills everyone to LeaveNoWitnesses, but there's no doubt that he's a genuinely loving family man.
** The Creator/IDWPublishing [[ComicBook/GIJoeARealAmericanHeroIDW continuation]] of ''ComicBook/GIJoeARealAmericanHeroMarvel'' has Cobra Commander become obsessed with destroying the Blue Ninjas after learning that they killed his son Billy. This is a great contrast from the [[ComicBook/GIJoeDevilsDue Devil's Due comics]] (also a continuation of the Marvel Comics continuity, but no longer considered canon due to being supplanted by the IDW continuation), where he actually murdered Billy himself without remorse.
* Colonel Ackerson of ''{{Franchise/Halo}}'' acted like an arrogant, vengeful {{Jerkass}} throughout most of the series, going so far as to order airstrikes during "training exercises" on people he hated and authorizing a program that turns [[TykeBomb orphans in supersoldiers]]. But when captured by [[ScaryDogmaticAliens the Covenant]] in ''ComicBook/HaloUprising'', he shows a bit of compassion for once in his life and fools the Covenant into sparing the city of Cleveland, possibly in the hopes of letting his brother there escape.
* A story in the early 90's comic book series ''Mickey Mouse Adventures'' revealed that Mickey's archnemesis [[Characters/MickeyMouseComicUniverseAntagonists The Phantom Blot]] had a very young daughter. Mickey is kind enough to let the Blot tell his daughter his own version of what happened and the villain's last words to his daughter before being sent to jail is for her to dream of happy endings.
* Deconstructed with [[EvilOverlord Tomás de Torquemada]] from ''ComicBook/NemesisTheWarlock''. He genuinely loves his wife and wants to be a caring husband, but [[NoSocialSkills cannot figure out how to express that love in non-villainous ways]], and his clumsy, horrifying attempts at caring for her gradually [[SanitySlippage drive the poor woman insane]].
* ''ComicBook/SinCity'':
** In Creator/FrankMiller's ''[[ComicBook/SinCity To Hell and Back]]'', [[DirtyCop the corrupt precinct captain]] Liebowitz lets the local crime lords run their businesses without interference, but when they worry he might be wavering, they threaten his family [[spoiler:and break his son's arm. His response is to splatter his contact's brains across an interrogation room]].
--->'''Liebowitz:''' You shouldn't have threatened my family. You shouldn't have beat up my boy.
** Senator Roark does love his pedophile son Roark Junior and goes to great lengths (and a lot of money) to restore his son after Hartigan blows off his hand [[GroinAttack and nuts off]].
* Interestingly, ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogIDW'' presents this as an aspect of Eggman's relationship with Metal Sonic. Flashbacks show that Metal is clearly Eggman's favorite creation, even to the point of acting like a doting parent. And ultimately, [[spoiler: it's being reunited with Metal that undoes Eggman's IdentityAmnesia]].
* In the original Mirage run of ''[[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesMirage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]]'' Oroku Saki became bitter and resentful after his older brother, Oroku Nagi, died at Yoshi's hand. He grew up to become the feared Shredder and killed Yoshi to avenge his brother. Shredder himself had an adopted daughter, Karai. In the original Mirage comics she made peace with the Turtles after they killed her father, but in other adaptations she is still loyal to her father's cause.
* ''ComicBook/TheTransformersMoreThanMeetsTheEye'':
** The Decepticon Justice Division are the most horrifying monsters the Decepticons have to offer, sadistic murderers whose atrocities are legend...but Tarn still made sure to issue Nickel with a recording of his "killer voice" that ends with him calling her a friend. [[spoiler:It saves her life after the rest of them are finished off.]]
** The montage of [[spoiler:Tyrest's]] killswitch wreaking havoc has Soundwave frantically trying to do something to help an affected Ravage.
* ''ComicBook/WarlordOfMars'':
** Senneth Dor was a cruel tyrant ever since the death of his favorite concubine and turned abusive towards their son Valian, but only tolerated him around because of his mother's memory. Despite this, he actually did care for his daughter Tasha Lia, going as far as rebuilding her as a Machine Woman after her death.
** First-Born pirate Phondari also cares a great deal about her little brother, specially after he was mutilated by their master, and wants to steal a treasure so that they could both retire peacefully.
** White Martian princess Phaidor genuinely falls in love with the hero John Carter, and after failing to kill his wife Dejah in a fit of jealousy, comes to regret it and cares for her too, going as far as trying to protect her from Phaidor's father Matai Shang. Even then, when he is killed by his backstabbing allies, she is completely mortified by his death.
