Paul Frees (born Solomon Hersh Frees; June 22, 1920 – November 2, 1986) was a prolific American voice actor.

His early talents were used in [[LoopingLines "re-looping"]] the dialogue of actors who could not affect foreign accents or other voices accurately (the most famous example probably being his uncredited dubbing of Creator/TonyCurtis' "female" voice in ''Film/SomeLikeItHot''), and in 1942 he started voicing in animated cartoons.

His regular roles of note include Boris Badenov and Inspector Fenwick in ''WesternAnimation/RockyAndBullwinkle''; Prof. Ludwig Von Drake in ''[[Series/WaltDisneyPresents Disney's Wonderful World of Color]]''; Music/JohnLennon and Music/GeorgeHarrison in ''WesternAnimation/TheBeatles1965''; Fluid Man in ''WesternAnimation/FrankensteinJr and WesternAnimation/TheImpossibles''; Double Q, Morocco Mole and WesternAnimation/SquiddlyDiddly in ''WesternAnimation/SecretSquirrel''; Judge Oliver Wendell Clutch in ''WesternAnimation/CalvinAndTheColonel''; the titular duo in ''[[ComicStrip/SnuffySmith Barney Google and Snuffy Smith]]''; Ignatz Mouse in ''ComicStrip/KrazyKat''; the Thing in ''WesternAnimation/TheFantasticFour1967''; and Vangore in ''WesternAnimation/ArabianKnights''. He provided the narrative voice for Jerry Mouse in the ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' cartoon "WesternAnimation/BlueCatBlues". He was the second voice of K.A.R.R. in ''Series/KnightRider'', after Creator/PeterCullen, in the 1984 episode "K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R." In one of his later roles, he even played a character in ''[[WesternAnimation/{{Puppetoons}} The Puppetoons Movie]]'' (which was dedicated to him). He was also the voice of the narrator[[note]]''(You'll laugh! You'll cry! You'll kiss three bucks goodbye!)''[[/note]] in ''Film/HardwareWars''.

Frees was heard in many of Creator/RankinBass's animated {{Christmas special}}s, including ''WesternAnimation/TheLittleDrummerBoy'', ''WesternAnimation/FrostyTheSnowman'', ''WesternAnimation/SantaClausIsCominToTown,'' and ''WesternAnimation/RudolphsShinyNewYear''. His voice was also used for a number of characters in Ride/DisneyThemeParks attractions: the Ghost Host for ''Ride/TheHauntedMansion'', the Auctioneer in ''Ride/PiratesOfTheCaribbean'', and the Narrator in ''Adventure Thru Inner Space''. In commercials, Frees voiced Advertising/ToucanSam (channeling Creator/RonaldColman) for Froot Loops cereal, Little Green Sprout for Green Giant vegetables, and the Pillsbury Doughboy. And he lent his voice to some of Creator/StanFreberg's comedy records, most notably serving as narrator for ''AudioPlay/StanFrebergPresentsTheUnitedStatesOfAmerica''.

In addition to his voice work, Frees had minor live-action roles in films (including ''Film/TheThingFromAnotherWorld'' and ''Film/{{Suddenly}}'') and television. He played the title character, EccentricMillionaire John Beresford Tipton, in ''Series/TheMillionaire'' (kind of a voice role, since Tipton was TheFaceless). [[HeAlsoDid He also co-wrote and directed the movie]] ''Film/TheBeatniks'', which was featured on ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'', and dubbed the voice of the villain Khali in the English-dubbed version of ''Film/IlyaMuromets'' which appeared on ''[=MST3K=]'' as ''[[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S06E17TheSwordAndTheDragon The Sword and the Dragon]]''.
