3	Eon Productions Ltd. is a London-based motion picture production company founded in 1961 by producers [[Creator/AlbertRBroccoli Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli]][[note]](an American)[[/note]] and Harry Saltzman[[note]](a Canadian)[[/note]], and is part of the Danjaq, LLC holding. A closely owned public and family corporation, it [[CashCowFranchise mainly produces]] the [[LongRunners long-running]] ''Film/JamesBond'' film series, with most of the films having scenes filmed at Creator/PinewoodStudios.

5	Cubby Broccoli chose the name "EON" because it is the acronym for "Everything Or Nothing" -- the cost of acquiring the rights to Creator/IanFleming's ''Literature/JamesBond'' novels would have bankrupted him had the [[Film/DrNo first film]] flopped. Saltzman left the company in 1975 out of financial and health issues. Creator/BarbaraBroccoli (daughter of Cubby) and her half-brother Michael G. Wilson are its heads since 1995, after Cubby stepped down due to his declining health.
