5Melvyn Hayes, born Melvyn Hyams, (11 January 1935) is a British actor best known for playing Bombardier "Gloria" Beaumont in ''Series/ItAintHalfHotMum''.

7His first taste of acting came when he appeared in Terry's Juveniles, a theatrical troupe, followed by appearances in repertory theatres across England and {{Pantomime}}s.

9After spending The60s playing small roles in films including ''Film/TheYoungOnes1961'' and ''Film/SummerHoliday'', he was cast as [[{{Crossdresser}} female-impersonator]] Gunner "Gloria" Beaumont in ''It Ain't Half Hot, Mum''. After Creator/GeorgeLayton left the series, Gloria was promoted to Bombardier. Ultimately, Hayes appeared in all 56 episodes. He also joined the ''Film/CarryOnSeries'' for ''Film/CarryOnEngland''.
