4Elister L. "Larry" Wilmore (born October 30, 1961) is an American comedian, actor, writer, and producer.

6As a writer, he has worked on several series including ''Series/InLivingColor'', ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir'', ''Series/SisterSister'', and ''Series/TheJamieFoxxShow'', which he also produced. He also co-created ''WesternAnimation/ThePJs'' with Creator/EddieMurphy, ''Series/TheBernieMacShow'' with Creator/BernieMac, and ''Series/{{Insecure}}'' with Issa Rae.

8From 2006 to 2014, he was a contributor to ''Series/TheDailyShow'', where he was addressed as the "Senior Black Correspondent"[[note]]The joke being that, until Wyatt Cenac joined the show, Wilmore was the only black correspondent[[/note]], offering humorous insights on race relations in America.

10In May 2014, Creator/ComedyCentral announced he would have his own ''Daily Show'' spinoff, ''Series/TheNightlyShow with Larry Wilmore'' (originally titled ''The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore''), taking the place of ''Series/TheColbertReport'' now that Creator/StephenColbert is hosting ''The Late Show'' in 2015. The first episode aired January 19, 2015. The show ended its run on August 18, 2016.

12In April 2016, Larry hosted the 2016 White House Correspondents Dinner (the last of President UsefulNotes/BarackObama's administration), during which he jokingly accused Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz of being [[StockUnsolvedMysteries the Zodiac Killer]] and that Cruz planned to go on a murder spree if elected.
