!!! Tony Chimel (Anthony Chimel) 1999-2020
[[quoteright:185:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tony_chimel_7839.jpg]]
* ArchEnemy: Mr. Kennedy.
* ButtMonkey
* DemotedToExtra: Currently the special guest ring announcer for Wrestling/{{Edge|Wrestler}}.
* HammyHerald
* OnlySaneMan
* VerbalTic:
** "The Rated R...'''SOOOPERSTAAARRRR!!''', Edge!"
** '''[[Wrestling/JohnCena JEEEEOOOOON... CEEENAAA!!]]'''

!!! Wrestling/HowardFinkel, 1977-2020

!!! Lilian Garcia (Lilian Annette García) 1999-2009, 2011-2016
[[quoteright:185:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lillian_4151.jpg]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Howard Finkel found this out the hard way.[[http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x76vjj_trish-stratus-lillian-garcia-attack_sport]] Plus there was an incident backstage[[http://www.mgoon.com/ch/y2jericho/v/2931102]] during an interview which ended up with two guys holding her back from going after Stacy Keibler who crashed the interview and yelling at Stacy Keibler in Spanish. There was also an incident where she almost got into a fight or at least got into an argument with Jackie Gayda. She also attacked Wrestling/MariaKanellis during a pillow fight match with Wrestling/ChristyHemme after Maria attacked her with a pillow.
* IdolSinger: In RealLife.
* LongRunner: During her first stint with company was the diva with the longest tenure there (ten years for the record).
* MilitaryBrat: She was born in Spain due to her father's work at the American Embassy in Madrid.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Does not look like she's 50. She pretty much looks exactly the same as she did in her 1999 debut.
* PutOnABus: Left for two years to get married and focus on her singing career.
* SpicyLatina: Describes herself as ''La Española Boricua''[[note]]the female Puerto Rican Spaniard[[/note]]
* SwappedRoles: On a handful of occasions, Lillian Garcia will introduce Ricardo Rodriguez in Spanish, in which Rodriguez follows up by introducing Del Rio in English.
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: She was the announcer for the Monday Night Raw show of October 11, 2004, which took place in the United Kingdom. She dressed for the occasion by wearing a Union Jack-patterned top.

!!! Greg Hamilton (Gregory Hamilton) 2015-2021
* ADayInTheLimelight: Believe it or not, WWE actually made a mini-mockumentary about him, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QDplQJ4WxQ "Why Greg Hamilton is the world’s best ring announcer".]]
* InsistentTerminology:
** Constantly announces Wrestling/AJStyles as "The Face that Runs the Place".
** He would also introduce Wrestling/ShaneMcMahon as "The Best in the ''Woooooorld''!" after Shane's 2019 FaceHeelTurn (albeit that one is because Shane always orders him to introduce him that way).
** For the women's division, he announces Wrestling/{{Carmella}} as "The Most Beautiful Woman in All of WWE".
* HammyHerald
* UnPerson: As a consequence of the contentious circumstances of his release from WWE,[[note]](He was fired after threatening a rapper who had sampled his WWE announcements with "WWE lawyers" despite WWE having no intention to do so.)[[/note]] WWE didn't move his profile to the Alumni section of their website, but removed it completely from the site.

!!! Samantha Irvin (Samantha Johnson) 2021-
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/samantha_irvin_profile.png]]
%%[[caption-width-right:300:some caption text]]
%% * AscendedFanboy
* BaritoneOfStrength: Not for herself, but it seems that the stronger the wrestler she has to announce, the more deep and strong-sounding her voice becomes to match, hence why her introduction for ''[[RedBaron Der Ring General]]'' [[Wrestling/{{Walter}} Gunther]] became memetic for sounding worthy of a {{Valkyrie|s}}.
* BreakTheCutie: Her role in the Logal Paul/Ricochet feud seemed to be this, as Paul ordered Samantha to announce his victory over Ricochet (Samantha's boyfriend) over and over again; whenever the camera panned to her, poor Sam looked like she was about to cry.
* HammyHerald: For the par the course with WWE announcers, but Samantha's known for putting her own twist on each announcement.
** What first bought her the attention of the fans was her particularly over-the-top way of announcing [[Wrestling/{{Walter}} Gunther]] (seemingly to complement his very martial "the mat is sacred" gimmick) which resulted in his name being pronounced by her as '''"GOOONTAAAHHHH!"'''
** She would later add her own spin to the introduction of Chelsea Green after Green's return to WWE in 2023; since Green would adopt a ValleyGirl gimmick, Irvin decided to apply for her the most Valley Girl-esque voice imaginable, resulting in her name coming as if Irvin is almost {{Squee}}-ing it: "Chelsea ''Greeeen!!!''"
** ''[=WrestleMania=] XL'' would prove to be a showcase for Samantha's vocal range. Besides giving emotional announcements for equally-emotional wins such as Sami Zayn's and (more memorably) Cody Rhodes's, a good summation of her announcement style would come when Damian Priest shockingly cashed in his Money in the Bank contract for the World Heavyweight Championship: her announcement of it had her voice particularly strain towards the end, making it sound less like an announcement and more like her asking in disbelief if this was really happening.
--->'''Samantha:''' Damian Priest is cashing in his Money in the Bank '''''CONTRACT?!'''''
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: There have been a few occasions when {{Heel}} wrestlers took an interest in the lovely Samantha and were overall a CasanovaWannabe to her. Interestingly enough, though, most if not all of those occasions involved Ricochet, who's in a relationship with Samantha, making it seem that this is less due to them being actually attracted to Samantha and more as a way for Ricochet's rivals to get at him.
** One match between Ricochet and Wrestling/LAKnight had Knight straight up walk to Samantha at ringside and cut a promo about how he knew that his "undeniable [[YiddishAsASecondLanguage kavorka]]" was irresistible to her, which only helped Knight get hit with one of Ricochet's aerial maneuvers shortly afterwards.
** During Ricochet's feud with Logal Paul, Paul took an ''special'' interest at the way Samantha announced him, making it clear he was fully aware of her relationship with his rival.
* VerbalTic: She seems incapable of announcing [[Wrestling/{{Walter}} Gunther]] without pronouncing it as '''"GOONTAH!"'''

!!! [=JoJo=] (Joseanne Offerman) 2013-2021
[[quoteright:333:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/38_jojo_909398633.jpg]]
* AfroAsskicker: In training.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Apparently of Dominican and Mexican descent.
* FauxActionGirl: Subverted. At the ''Survivor Series'' and the next night on Raw, despite being billed as a newbie, she was able to get some offence in against Tamina and Alicia Fox.
* PutOnABus: Was dropped from the ''Total Divas'' cast and supposedly wanted to work on her wrestling training full time.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After getting DemotedToExtra in the latter half of Series/TotalDivas, she was replaced in season 2 by Summer Rae without any sort of explanation. She then turned up in NXT as an announcer in the Fall of 2014 and is currently serving as a backstage interviewer and occasional announcer.

!!! Joe [=McHugh=] (Joseph [=McHugh=]) 1960s-1984 (television, until shortly before his death at arena shows)
* CoolOldGuy: Was well into his 80s and was still announcing the WWF's newest top talent, including (the returning) Wrestling/HulkHogan and Wrestling/RoddyPiper. Even after the WWF no longer taped its weekly shows at the Agricultural Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania, [=McHugh=] continued to work the WWF's non-televised house shows in the area until about a year before his death (at age 88) in 1993.
* NonActionGuy
* OncePerEpisode: To open each episode of ''WWF Championship Wrestling'', [=McHugh=] introduced the commissioner, the sanctioning body, ringside physician, timekeeper and referees before introducing himself ("... and I'm your ring announcer, Joe [=McHugh=]!").

!!! Justin Roberts (Justin Jason Roberts) 2002-2014
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/justin_roberts_5235.jpg]]
* AscendedFanboy: Been a wrestling fan his entire life, and this is why he got involved in wrestling in the first place.
* HammyHerald: Well, he is an announcer, so it goes with the job.
** LargeHam
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Was on the receiving end of this when the [[Wrestling/{{WWENXT}} NXT]] [[Wrestling/TheNexus rookies]] invaded Raw, in particular Daniel Bryan who used his tie and tried to choke him with it.
* PutOnABus: Was released after WWE opted not to renew his contract.
* {{Troll}}: After an injured and outraged Wrestling/{{Batista}} quits the company, Roberts tells the crowds to give it up for him, to which they go from cheering The Animal's resignation to booing him. It helps for Roberts in that Batista was too badly injured and in a wheelchair to attack him for both that and interrupting his promo time beforehand.

!!! Ricardo Rodriguez (Jesus Rodriguez) 2010-2014
[[quoteright:185:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ricardorodriguez_5028.jpg]]
* AccidentalMisnaming: Jerry Lawler is known to mockingly call him [[Series/ILoveLucy Ricky Ricardo]].
* AlliterativeName
* AntiVillain[=/=]PunchClockVillain: It's become quickly apparent that Ricardo's not really an evil guy, per se. In fact, some of his qualities would be pretty admirable if not for his {{Jerkass}} of a [[Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio boss]].
* CoolMask: When he wrestles as El Local.
* ForeignWrestlingHeel: Of the variety that is seldom, if ever, seen speaking English in character.
** Now averts this, but actually managed to {{invert|edTrope}} this at one point. His sticking up for the Spanish announce team earned him bullying from the English-speaking Wrestling/ThreeMB, which prompted Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio to come out and stick for him, setting off the start of Del Rio's own HeelFaceTurn
* HammyHerald
* IncrediblyLongNote: Known to, when given the opportunity, stretch '''"ALBERTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"''' to upwards of ten seconds. Very loudly.
* [[MyMasterRightOrWrong My Boss, Right Or Wrong]]
* NonActionGuy --> ActionSurvivor
** BattleButler: Seems to be sliding into this. He's been slowly booked as more and more competent a fighter as his time in WWE has worn on.
** LevelGrinding
* SayMyName: [[Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio ALBERTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... DEL RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOooooo!]]
* SwappedRoles: On a handful of occasions, Lillian Garcia will introduced Ricardo Rodriguez in Spanish, in which Rodriguez follows up by introducing Del Rio in English.
* TrrrillingRrrs: Just listen to how he introduced Del Rio.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Del Rio - to the point where it's almost admirable, despite him being a heel. Ended (or least stopped) in 2013, when he joined up with Wrestling/RobVanDam.
** ThePowerOfFriendship:
* VeryPunchableMan: Probably eats more finishers than anyone in WWE... even the {{Jobber}}s.
* VillainousValor: Has a funny way of showing it, but seems to be less cowardly on occasion than Del Rio himself.
* WrestlingPsychology: It's easy to forget, but Rodriguez used to wrestle on the indies, so off course he knows how to sell and make it look like he know less than he actual does.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Was brutally attacked by Del Rio after he failed to help him win a non title match against Wrestling/RobVanDam.

!!! Mike Rome (Austin Romero) 2016-

!!! Eden Stiles/Brandi Rhodes (Brandi Alexis [[Wrestling/CodyRhodes Runnels]] ''née'' Reed) 2011, 2013-2016, 2024-
* PutOnTheBus: On May 24, 2016, Brandi was granted her release from WWE, just days after her husband Wrestling/CodyRhodes also requested his release.
** TheBusCameBack: At Wrestling/WrestleMania XL Night 2 on April 7, 2024, Brandi was part of Cody's entrance for his match against Wrestling/RomanReigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. After Cody won, she went into the ring to celebrate with him.
* WrestlingFamily: She is Cody's wife, Wrestling/{{Goldust}}'s half-sister-in-law, Wrestling/DustyRhodes' daughter-in-law and a cousin of AEW's Scorpio Sky.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Commentators & Backstage Personalities]]
!!! Wrestling/MikeAdamle (Michael David Adamle) 2008

!!! Wrestling/WadeBarrett (Stuart Alexander Bennett) 2020-

!!! Wrestling/BookerT (Robert Booker Tio Huffman) 2011-Present

!!! Max Bretos (Maximillian Bretos) 2006-2007
* NonActionGuy

!!! Palmer Cannon (Brian Mailhot) 2005-2006
* AbortedArc: Was being prepped for a feud with Wrestling/TheMiz in 2006, but that went out the window due to RealLifeWritesThePlot and ScrewThisImOuttaHere below.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Wrestling/DonCallis Cyrus the Virus]].
* FunWithAcronyms: '''P'''almer '''C'''annon.
* NonActionGuy: Although he has actually wrestled on the indepedent circuit as "Brian Black".
* RealLifeWritesThePlot[=/=]ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Left the WWE in April 2006 because of hazing from Wrestling/JohnBradshawLayfield and Wrestling/ChrisBenoit, thus pulling the plug on Cannon's feud with The Miz.

!!! Jonathan Coachman (Jonathan William Coachman) 1999-2008, 2018
[[quoteright:232:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/coach_bio_3946.png]]
* ActionSurvivor
* BaldOfEvil: Post-Heel turn.
* ButtMonkey: Mostly for [[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson The Rock]] and [[Wrestling/DGenerationX D-X]].
* CatchPhrase: During the Attitude Era, he had a tendency to say "Hold the phone" when calling matches, something Michael Hayes called him put on while they were both calling a match on ''Heat''.
* CoolShades
* {{Evil Minion|s}}: To Eric Bischoff.
* HesBack: Became ''Raw'' color commentator the night after the 2018 Royal Rumble, replacing Wrestling/BookerT..
* RedBaron: "The Coach".
* WhosLaughingNow: Austin nixing him from the Raw announce team with a stunner when JR came back pushed him to side with Bischoff.

!!! Wrestling/MichaelCole (Michael Sean Coulthard) 1997-Present

!!! Tony Dawson (Anthony Dawson) 2012-2013
* CombatCommentator
* NonActionGuy

!!! Craig [=DeGeorge=] 1987-1988
* NonActionGuy
* UrExample: Of the kind of clueless announcer codified by Michael Cole.

!!! Barry Didinsky 1995
* NonActionGuy
* RedBaron: "The Mayor of Merchandise".

!!! Maria Felipe 1998-1999
* [[NonActionGuy Non-Action Girl]]
* SpicyLatina

!!! Joe Fowler (Joseph Gilbert Fowler) 1993
* ButtMonkey: Was given a pretty sick burn by Wrestling/JimCornette at Wrestling/SummerSlam 1993: "I'll tell you the biggest surprise: your employment!"
* NonActionGuy

!!!Sho Funaki (船木 勝一 Funaki Shoichi) 1998-2010, 2014-Present
[[quoteright:256:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Funaki_1913.jpg]]
* DarkHorseVictory: Few expected him to become number one contender to the Cruiserweight Championship. Fewer expected him to win it from Wrestling/SpikeDudley at Wrestling/{{Armageddon|WWE}}, yet he did, held on to it and successfully defended it in Tokyo.
* GratuitousEnglish: "Smackdown announcer number one!" He got better.
* HongKongDub: Famously, Kaientai were given this as their promo style. Funaki only ever got to say "Indeed!" every time.
* {{Jobber}}: One of the more well known examples, has lost to the lowest of the low, which was probably why Stephanie made him an interviewer.
* LaughablyEvil: As part of Kaientai.
* {{Omniglot}}[=/=]HiddenDepths: In addition to Japanese and English, he can apparently also speak French, German, Portugese, and Spanish.
* RedBaron: "''[=SmackDown!=]'''s #1 Announcer"
* [[CueTheSun Rising Sun]]: One of his finishing moves.

!!! Wrestling/CoreyGraves (Matt Polinsky) 2011-Present

!!! Todd Grisham 2004-2011
[[quoteright:144:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toddgrisham_1412.jpg]]
* ButtMonkey: Was this for Wrestling/JohnCena.
* DullSurprise: "It's...Wrestling/{{Christian}}."
* NonActionGuy

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/AlfredHayes_9509.jpg]]
* ActionSurvivor: He was a former pro-wrestler himself.
* ButtMonkey
* DirtyOldMan: Once asked Sensational Sherri if he could watch as she put her nylons on. She responded by calling him this.
* EvilBrit: Sported a heelish attitude during the final three years of his stint, even supporting Wrestling/OwenHart in his feud against [[Wrestling/BretHart his big brother Bret]].
* QuintessentialBritishGentleman
* {{Sidekick}}: To Vince [=McMahon=].

!!! Michael Hayes (Michael Seitz) 1984, 1995-Present
[[quoteright:137:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Michael_Hayes_8643.jpg]]
* ActionSurvivor
* AlliterativeName: Was a member of the wrestling tag-team, The Fabulous Freebirds.
* IHaveManyNames: Briefly known as Dok Hendrix from 1995 to 1999.
* TheMentor: InUniverse to the [[Wrestling/MattHardy Hardy]] [[Wrestling/JeffHardy Boyz]] for a time in 1999.
* RedBaron: "Purely Sexy" or "P.S." for short.

!!! Kevin Kelly (Kevin Foote) 1996-2003
[[quoteright:136:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kevinkelly_8165.jpg]]
* AlliterativeName
* ButtMonkey: An easy target for Wrestling/TheRock, [[Wrestling/DGenerationX DX]] and [[Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin Austin]]. The Rock in particular called him "{{Herm|aphrodite}}ie."
* CombatCommentator
* DeadpanSnarker: To his broadcast colleagues.
* LargeHam
* NonActionGuy

!!! Jack Korpela 2006-2013
* NonActionGuy

!!! Stan Lane ([[Wrestling/TheFabulousOnes Wallace Stanfield]] [[Wrestling/TheMidnightExpress "Stan" Lane]]) 1993-1995
* ActionSurvivor
* CombatCommentator
* RedBaron: "Sweet".

[[quoteright:232:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/josh-mathews-bio_8347.png]]
* TheArtifact: Was one of the original season 1 Tough Enough competitors. For many years afterwards, he was the the only one still employed.
* ButtMonkey
* DeadpanSnarker
* DemonicPossession: From The Undertaker of all people.
* {{Facepalm}}: He does this ''a lot''. And really, can you blame him?
* JackOfAllStats: He's not the best Play by Play or Color Commentator that WWE has, but he's good enough at being both that he can flip-flop between the roles when he has two, which is apparent on Smackdown, where he's usually a Color commentator, but goes to Play by Play when Booker T and Michael Cole start arguing over a wrestler's motivations, intentions, or actions.
* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: CM Punk gave him this treatment on one episode of NXT. "I'm CM Punk, you can join me and Michael Cole next week. Shut up Josh."
* NonActionGuy: Now, but he was undefeated, 2-0.
* OnlySaneMan: During Cole's reign of megalomania, Josh was often times the only one who remembered that the announcers table was supposed to comment on the matches.
* StraightMan: A role he plays very, very well. He's significantly less entertaining when he doesn't have an [[Wrestling/MichaelCole insane]] or dorky announcing partner for him to play off of.
* TookALevelInJerkass: On NXT Season 4, he's starting to follow Michael Cole's example.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Michael Cole on NXT seemingly.
** As well as Scott Stanford on Superstars.
** Not to mention Road Dogg on the WWE Website/YouTube series ''WebVideo/AreYouSerious?''

!!! [[UsefulNotes/NFLDefensiveAndSpecialTeamsPlayers Pat McAfee]] 2021–present

* ThisLoserIsYou

!!! Sean Mooney 1988-1993, 2012
* NonActionGuy
* StraightMan: To Lord Alfred Hayes and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

!!! Wrestling/MeanGeneOkerlund (Eugene Okerlund) 1984-1993, 2001-2019

!!! Kevin Patrick (Kevin Patrick Egan) 2022-2024
* NonActionGuy
* PutOnTheBus: He was released from his contract in 2024 due to WWE not being happy with his announcing skills.

!!! Todd Pettengill (Todd Clark Pettengill) 1993-1997, 2013
* CombatCommentator
* StraightMan

!!! Tom Phillips (Thomas Hannifan) 2012-2021
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tom_phillips.png]]
* ButtMonkey: Many heels have no respect for poor Tom, though he isn't as bad as Byron Saxton.
* CombatCommentator
* DeadpanSnarker: Much like his partner Corey Graves.
* KickedUpstairs: His original role was conducting backstage interviews on ''Raw'' for the WWE [=App=].
* NonActionGuy
* {{Sensitive Guy|AndManlyMan}}: To Corey Graves' Manly Man.
* SharpDressedMan: Like all WWE commentators not named Jerry Lawler.

!!! Wrestling/BethPhoenix (Elizabeth Kocianski-[[Wrestling/EdgeWrestler Copeland]]) 2018-Present

!!! Wrestling/CMPunk (Philip Brooks) 2010, 2019-2020

!!! Mauro Ranallo (Mauro Domenico Ranallo) 2016-2020
* CatchPhrase: "Mamma mia!"
* CombatCommentator
* FarmBoy: {{Defied|Trope}} by Mauro himself. He was born and raised on a farm but always disliked it and saw commentary and announcing work as his way out of that existence since he was a young boy.
* LargeHam: [[https://youtu.be/F77Hp0f_nME Just watch his reactions to TakeOver: New Orleans]].
* MotorMouth: Can dip into this when he gets excited.
* NonActionGuy
* PrecisionFStrike: Called Tommaso Ciampa a sadistic son of a bitch at [=TakeOver=]: New Orleans.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Dips into this from time to time. Ranallo has a very expansive vocabulary and will toss some... let's say, dictionary-grade descriptors, into his commentary every once in a while.
* ShownTheirWork: Immediately stood out from most of the announcing team and was praised for his knowledge of move names (and actually calling them on the air) and ring psychology.

!!! Steve Romero (Todd Romero) 2004-2007
* CombatCommentator
* NonActionGuy

!!! Wrestling/JimRoss (James William Ross) 1993-2013, 2017-2019

!!! [[Wrestling/AngelaFong Savannah (Angela Fong)]] 2009-2010

!!! Byron Saxton (Bryan Jesús Kelly) 2009-Present
* ButtMonkey: '''Is he ever.''' The poor guy tends to get picked on by the heel superstars, especially Wrestling/KevinOwens and Wrestling/TheWyattFamily (in that his chair gets taken for Wrestling/BrayWyatt to sit on whenever they're out to have a match, forcing him to either stand or, at one time, be on his knees to call their matches.) Furthermore, [[TheFriendNobodyLikes he's the least liked by his fellow commentators]]. Even his fellow babyface partners Wrestling/MichaelCole and Tom Phillips don't seem to like him and the latter and Wrestling/BookerT took being compared to him as an insult than a compliment.
** The March 16, 2020 episode of ''Raw'' took this trope up a notch where he receives a total of ''four'' [[Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin Stone Cold Stunners]], three by Austin himself (who [[GroinAttack kicked him in the groin]] before connecting the first Stunner and dumps beer on him before connecting the second) and the last by Wrestling/BeckyLynch.
* TheDogBitesBack: After years of being insulted by Corey Graves, Saxton finally gets back at him by winning the 24/7 Championship off of him... [[YankTheDogsChain only to lose the title to Drake Maverick a couple of seconds later]].
* {{Fanboy}}: Of Wrestling/TheNewDay, Wrestling/{{Bayley}} ([[FaceHeelTurn formerly]]), and the Street Profits.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: As mentioned above for ButtMonkey, his fellow commentators, particularly Wrestling/CoreyGraves, Wrestling/{{J|ohnBradshawLayfield}}BL, and even his fellow babyface partners Cole and Phillips, treat him with the least respect, in that they don't seem pleased to have him as their partner and make jokes at his expense that aren't even light-hearted. The worst example is an episode of ''Ride Along'' where Cole and JBL spent the entire time being less than thrilled traveling with him and belittling him. They even go as far as to ''ditch him when he went to buy food for them all''.
* ManChild
* {{Sensitive Guy|AndManlyMan}}: To Corey Graves' Manly Man.

* BunnyEarsLawyer: 4-time Emmy winning sportcaster that -''really'' has fun with both his jobs.
* CloserToEarth
* PissTakeRap
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Josh Matthews. Their commentary basically consists of them snarking at each other in addition to calling the matches.

[[quoteright:232:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/matt-striker-bio_9023.png]]
* BreakupBreakout: Of the New Breed... kind of. He's this since he at least still had a job in the WWE, outlasting all of them by at least five years, but he only managed that as a backstage personality. As a wrestler, the title would go to the leader Wrestling/ElijahBurke, who found reasonable success as "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero in TNA. However, if you want to get ''really'' technical, then the real breakout is Wrestling/CMPunk, who joined the stable for all of two weeks and has long since outstripped all of them in memorability and success, becoming a five-time world champion and a star comparable to the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton.
* TheChewToy: Even faces will beat the crap out him.
* DemotedToExtra: Wrestling/BookerT replaced him on commentary on Smackdown, and he became a backstage interviewer and commentator on Wrestling/WWESuperstars.
* DistressedDude: He was kidnapped by Maxine and [[Wrestling/{{Fandango}} Johnny Curtis]]. Then, while Johnny was not looking, someone else abducted him.
* HotTeacher: Before he started his wrestling career, he taught.
* PutOnABus: Due to his contract not being renewed. He ended up commentating on ''Wrestling/LuchaUnderground.''
* SmartMark: He is very internet friendly, loves [[Wrestling/LowKi Kaval]] and [[Wrestling/BryanDanielson Daniel Bryan]], and knows a lot about the business, well, he says he does.
** Has referenced a bevy of nerdy things, wrestling and non-wrestling.
** Calling Kaval "low key", Brandon Silvestry's name on the indies was Low Ki.
** Saying Kofi Kingston a Ghanaian, was sent by Wrestling/RingOfHonor manager Wrestling/PrinceNana of Ghana.
** Calling Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio two-faced, his Mexican ring name was Dos Caras (Two Faces) Jr.
** Saying a spinning side slam by Wrestling/WadeBarrett was similar to [[Wrestling/{{TNA}} Abyss's]] Black Hole Slam.
** Saying Daniel Bryan should go for the [[FinishingMove Cattle Mutilation]].
* TheSmartGuy: Always informs the audience the history of a move and how it affects your body.
* [[ThisLoserIsYou You Suck]]: He may be a grade A smark, but he apparently doesn't have a girlfriend, his sister watches ''[=SmackDown!=]'' for Wrestling/DrewMcIntyre and Wrestling/CodyRhodes, and nobody respects him.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Even when in his pseudo-heel persona, he's never really mean to anybody, he's just over the top in praising everyone that he comes off as creepy and toady.

* PutOnABus: Was fired from the WWF prior to In Your House #2 in July 1995 due to budget cuts.

!!! Renee Young (Renee Paquette) 2012-2020
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/renee_young.png]]
* ApologeticAttacker: Apologized on Talking Smack for slapping Miz after he made a lewd comment about her "sleeping" with Dean Ambrose; Bryan waves it off, saying Miz deserved it and she has nothing to apologize for.
* BerserkButton: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hlDL7hj5v8 As Miz found out]], do NOT make light of her relationship with Wrestling/DeanAmbrose.
* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** She [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnHk-HhOEJo flipped her shit]] when Summer Rae invaded ''After Total Divas'' for the second time in a row without being invited.
** During an interview with The Miz, the latter mocks her about her relationship with Dean Ambrose, prompting Renee to slap him.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Something she's picked up from Regal is going off on random - usually obviously made up - factoids about wrestlers, backstage gossip, or something another commentator has said.
* HiddenDepths: She might seem like your typical pretty face, but it only takes a few minutes of listening to her on commentary to realize she's actually quite interested in wrestling and has a good amount of knowledge on the industry. And previous to the WWE, she was a broadcaster for major Canadian sports network The Score and had her own wrestling-focused podcast.
** Unlike women in the company who see the WWE as a stepping stone to other forays, Young has made it clear she has no interest in making token efforts to wrestle or to just have her pretty face shown, but rather to use her broadcasting skills to becoming the first major female wrestling commentator.
* OfficialCouple: With Wrestling/DeanAmbrose, confirmed on Series/TotalDivas and social media, and finally acknowledged on-air on the 12/20/2016 edition of Smackdown Live. They married in 2017.
* OnlySaneWoman: To quite a few of the people she interviews. Most of said interviews end with Renee looking completely confused, wondering what the hell just happened.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Has this dynamic with Regal whom she commentates along side on NXT. A common schtick they'll do during dull portions of the matches is Regal flirting with Renee (who will actually respond positively), Regal talking about his various girlfriends with her, the two of them discussing various pop gimmicks like selfies, or a short discussion on backstage gossip. More than one of their regular third commentators has noted this dynamic and their random tangents.
* PromotionToOpeningTitles: After becoming pretty much the {{Tritagonist}} in ''The JBL and Cole Show''. In which she celebrates with a [[Franchise/StreetFighter hadoken]].

[[caption-width-right:280:The Computer]]
* ArchEnemy: Wrestling/{{Edge|Wrestler}}. Which was hilariously used to illustrate how much RAW had decayed when Edge realized the sheer stupidity of the situation -- from Austin stunning Mr. [=McMahon=] to Edge arguing with a computer.
* BeepingComputers
* BullyingADragon: Namely, Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin, Wrestling/JerryLawler, and Wrestling/JohnCena. He also had a rivalry with Wrestling/{{Edge|Wrestler}}, which ended with Edge flipping out and attacking the computer.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Ever since Wrestling/TripleH took over WWE as COO in July 2011, the GM has disappeared with no mention whatsoever of his whereabouts. The GM podium, however, continued to be set up for at least several weeks afterward.
** TheBusCameBack: As part of the storyline of bringing back past [=GMs=] for a week in July 2012, the GM returned. Still, no explanation as to why disappeared in the first place was given.
* HeWhoMustNotBeSeen: The GM communicates to the ring via e-mails. Michael Cole usually read them at a laptop set up for that express purpose next to the announcer's table, but Cole has also read them off his Blackberry and [=iPad=].
* {{Jerkass}}
* KickTheDog: Kicks everybody who's not Michael Cole.
** Ironically after TheReveal, [[spoiler:Hornswoggle]]'s last action was literally kicking Michael Cole.
* {{Retcon}}: After TheReveal of [[spoiler:Hornswoggle]], the sheer negative reception made WWE invoke this (by bringing back only the laptop itself for a one-off skit as if said Reveal had never happened).
* StockSoundEffect: The e-mail sound effect is used in a number of Apple products such as the iPod and iTunes. Lampshaded when Wrestling/{{Edge|Wrestler}} and Wrestling/{{Christian}} make a parody of an announcement with Christian's iPhone.
* TheUnreveal: It was never made clear who the Anonymous Raw GM was after Triple H took over as COO for Raw, and John Laurinaitis taking over as the Interim General Manager while the Board searches for a new GM. [[WordOfGod According to a former assistant to the Creative team]], they had intended on revealing who it was, but Vince had lost interest and suggested they just reveal it was Laurinaitis "with a throwaway line backstage".
** TheReveal: It was finally revealed on the GM's 2012 return to be [[spoiler:Hornswoggle]]. It went over about as well as you'd expect.

* AscendedExtra: Pearce has made appearances as a backstage agent since 2018 but it wasn't until late 2019 that he started have a speaking role on WWE's programming.
* NumberTwo: Whilst probably the closest thing in two years (outside of the [[Characters/WWEMcMahonFamily McMahon Family]]) to a General Manager on ''[[Wrestling/WWESmackDown SmackDown]]'', Pearce is not officially one and is clearly still an agent reporting to Mr. [=McMahon=].
* OnlySaneEmployee: Pearce has always been shown to be a no-nonsense straight-to-the-point guy in terms of his command.
