-> The brains behind Amnesia's activities and its de-facto second in command as its operations officer. Chaos was recruited into Amnesia shortly after his transformation into an In-Birth when Gordeau personally invited him to be their tactician. While frequently called a shut-in and an over-thinking [[TeamMom brainiac]], Chaos has helped Amnesia tremendously with his insight by providing much needed logistics. With Roger's death however, Chaos temporarily diverts his attention to helping Gordeau track down Wagner, the Crimson Knight of Licht Kreis, while also doubling down in cautiously helping Hilda achieve her goals of becoming a Re-Birth. While generally friendly and proactive to his allies, he has a habit of looking down upon those he considers [[InsufferableGenius less intelligent than he is]].\
Chaos' EXS ability is the EXS of Illusion[[note]]Literally Semblance Shadow[[/note]]: '''Umbral''', which, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin as the name implies]], gives him control over an illusory creature. Umbral allows Chaos to project and manifest the creature, where its form is based on a particular catalyst that is specifically limited to books, most likely stemming from Chaos' affinity to them. Chaos was unable to fully utilize this ability in combat without a particular catalyst, one which he later steals from Licht Kreis. The particular catalyst happened to be a book called the '''Codex of Disorder: Chaos Code''' ([[VideoGame/ChaosCode No not that one.]]) which allows him to summon a Void called '''Azhi Dahaka'''. The book's mysterious inscriptions became legible for Chaos to read and freely command Azhi to his whims.\
Chaos is the game's resident puppet-fighter but plays differently compared to other puppet fighters with all of Chaos' specials being related to Azhi's own moveset, which gives Chaos the ability to chain specials into one-another.\
His Force Function '''Sneak Around''' has him performing a side-roll through his opponents and repositioning himself to get out of harm's way or sandwich his opponents between himself and Ahzi. It is one of the few moves he can use outside Azhi aside from his Reflect ability. Sys:Celes moves Sneak Around to become a command roll reminiscent of Linne's as Chaos gains two new Force Functions focused on Azhi. The first is '''Burn Them To A Crisp''' where Azhi breaths fire and '''Up and At 'Em''' where Azhi flings itself behind the opponent before striking.\
His Infinite Worth, '''Dissect Barrage''', has him using his book to launch his opponent into the air, with Azhi in pursuit. Whilst still airborne, Azhi delivers a barrage of claw attacks, before delivering a downward swipe that bring the opponent back down to ground level.\
Chaos' Chronicle Mode story is called ''The Sage Cometh in the Night,'' which details his transformation into an In-Birth after wandering into the Hollow Night, his endeavor to seek out a suitable catalyst for his ability, and him joining Amnesia as their tactician.

----

* AnimalBattleAura: Subverted. While his docile looks and snobby personality might help in masking his combat prowess, a number of people are able sense something akin to "hidden fangs and claws" just waiting to be unleashed around him. This is magnified in his Sys:Celes ending where [[spoiler: Azhi fuses with Chaos' body and now does not require the Chaos Code to summon.]]
* AttackReflector: His Code Reflect command normal works like one, where it'll grow larger if it absorbs a projectile.
* BadassBookworm: Even though Azhi does most of the fighting for him. He states that he prioritizes intelligence over strength while fighting. On the other side, he's a scholar who loves books and seeks to learn anything that he finds interesting. Despite all of that, he is still able to kick some ass without the need of Azhi.
* TheBeastmaster: He summons a reptilian creature named Azhi Dahaka to fight alongside him.
* BreathWeapon: One of Azhi Dahaka's moves (and thus is one of Chaos' special moves) and Chaos' only projectile attack next to his Code Reflect command normal. Sys:Celes grants another fire-breathing attack for Azhi as his new Force Function.
* CatchPhrase: Not so much a phrase but a favorite word, with Chaos' favorite being "intelligence" or "smart".
* CharacterDeath: [[spoiler: Is presumably killed by Wagner in her Arcade story.]]
* ConstantlyCurious: As a scholar, his curiosity and inquiring mind led to his current position as Amnesia's strategist. His curiosity is also what led him to become an In-Birth. In fact, his curiosity might be extending beyond Amnesia's scopes if his contact to [[spoiler:Kuon]] is anything to go by.
* CovertPervert: He discovers that the being he can summon with his EXS, Azhi Dahaka, assumes different forms based on which book he uses to summon it. [[PowerPerversionPotential The thought of using a female idol's gravure photo collection]]... [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial hasn't crossed his mind]].
* {{Delinquent}}: His backstory says he used to be one, being a bit of a brute-force fighter before relying more on intellect.
** As it turns out, this backstory was a fabrication made up by Amnesia to hype Chaos up presumably as an intimidation tactic.
* DifficultButAwesome: A very notable example. Chaos lacks notable defensive tools such as reversals and even quick-to-use anti-air attacks other than solid pokes, along with attacks that are easily punished and over-reliance on Azhi Dahaka. However, should he be mastered, Chaos along with Azhi can easily pummel his opponent from around anywhere at anytime with solid space control, as Chaos is the only PuppetFighter who can easily apply the sandwich combo-type of offense.
* EvilGenius: While Amnesia is not particularly evil, Chaos acts as the brains of the group as Hilda is too busy partying to ever plan things out on her own. He sets up the plans, goes over logistics, thinks about their group's image and reputation, and scouts around to find new recruits. Chaos isn't traditionally evil either but his interests in learning about the true nature of the Hollow Night has him inevitably make enemies.
* {{Foil}}: To Orie. Both are the sanest among their organizations' playable characters, both of which with aims to control the Night, and both have a summonable ally with them in combat. Though, while Orie has HiddenDepths regarding how taxing her stoic facade is to maintain, Chaos has no trouble maintaining his superiority. Additionally, while Thanatos only comes out for individual attacks Azhi Dahaka stays out almost constantly. Relating to their puppets, Thanatos is distinctly human-shaped under the armor while Azhi Dahaka is a Void. Additionally, while Orie only works to control the Night as an Executor of Licht Kreis, Chaos is motivated by a desire to understand the Night on his own, joining Amnesia as a means to that end.
* GratuitousEnglish: Outside of the cast members shouting out their attack names, Chaos does this the most in his regular speech. His favorites being his catch phrases of "intelligence" and "smart" but also extends to phrases like "nonsense" and "excellent".
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Gordeau. Chaos frequently visited Gordeau at the latter's home after Roger's passing to make sure he was holding up well.
* {{Hipster}}: Considers himself as such.
* IKnowKarate: A lot of his physical attacks involve pretty precise chops.
* InSeriesNickname: His title as "Bloody Chaos" might actually be just a joke among his Amnesia peers. He doesn't like being called that by them and Gordeau and Hilda tease him frequently by using it. He is significantly less bothered when non-Amnesia individuals refer to him with it.
* InsufferableGenius: Chaos takes great pride in the pursuit of knowledge and has dedicated his time as a member of Amnesia to uncovering the history of the Hollow Night when he isn't helping out Gordeau or filling in for Hilda. And ''boy oh boy'', does he like to flaunt it. He sometimes tends to put on a front when dealing with other In-Births, but he can be an absolute bastard when it slips.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Chaos can be absolutely ''vehement'' when it comes to what he thinks about people he considers lesser than him in terms of IQ, even if the person he's directing it towards probably has it coming. Outside of that, however, he can be fairly civil when it comes to formalities, and is good terms with his fellow Amnesia members, sans [[TheFriendNobodyLikes Uzuki]], whom he states he is not that compatible with. While he constantly gives her shit for her questionable decisions and {{Jerkass}} tendencies, he gets along well enough with Hilda, and quickly became friends with Enkidu. He makes a point to regularly check in on Gordeau after Roger's death, and even lets him freeload at his place whenever he needs to.
* LightEmUp: Has a ton of light-based moves in a majority of his attacks, even if in minor traces.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qz52Z0E-Mh8&t=55s Erudite Eyes]]'', as well as ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VFa-tRW5ok Cross Thought]]'' for matches against [[FriendlyRivalry Gordeau]].
* TheMole: Averted. While Chaos is intent on achieving Amnesia's goals of bringing authorities like Licht Kreis down, he's currently more focused on helping Gordeau track down Wagner than have faith in Hilda's plans to become a Re-Birth. He is also revealed to have been in cahoots with Kuon for around the same time he's been with Amnesia.
* MyNaymeIs: "Chaos" is usually rendered in katakana as "カオス" (''kaosu''), "ケイオス" (''keiosu''), or "ケーオス" (''kēosu''). Seeing it rendered as "ケイアス" (''keiasu'') is practically unheard of, though it also serves as a shorthand for his real name '''Ke'''i '''Asu'''ma.
* MysteriousEmployer: [[spoiler:Chronicle Mode reveals that he is Seth's employer and gives him the Eliminators in exchange for his cooperation, [[TheManBehindTheMan though it is revealed that Kuon was the one who gave Chaos both his task and the daggers, a fact Seth seems to recognize]]]].
* NumberTwo:
** Is this to Hilda. Chaos does all the actual work in planning out operations and sometimes even recruitment while Hilda mostly parties away, making him do all the work she as the boss should be doing. He is constantly at odds with her simplistic tactics and decisions. They do seem pretty friendly over all though as they frequent Gordeau's bar together.
** All in all, Sys:Celes reveals that Chaos actually ended up being one to Kuon, doing his utmost in looking after his weakened vessel to moving the various factions under the Hollow Night including Amnesia to Kuon's design so that the Re-birth can enlighten him about the depths of the Hollow Night.
* OddFriendship: Despite his status as an InsufferableGenius shut-in, Chaos surprisingly gets along well with the imposing, stoic, and quiet Enkidu. Kuon also expresses sincere gratitude for Chaos' efforts in protecting him during his weakened state.
* {{Plunder}}: Chaos uses Amnesia as a distraction during their raid on a Licht Kreis facility to break in and steal documents or artifacts that might satisfy his curiosity about the Hollow Night. Chaos leaves with the Chaos Code after surprising Orie with Azhi. The fact that Chaos blatantly committed theft isn't really brought up again outside of Wagner's non-canon arcade mode until Sys:Celes where all the Licht Kreis personnel he runs into demand the Chaos Code back.
* PromotedToPlayable: Chaos was the first non-playable character to be promoted in the arcade release of ''Exe:Late''. Before then he only made a brief appearance in Gordeau's story.
* PuppetFighter: He can summon his creature and use it as his main tool to help him in fighting. In some ways it's the only tool he has, since all of his special moves involve it. But compared to Orie, he's the only character who can apply any and notably potent sandwich combos.
* RecruitmentByRescue: Subverted. His victory-screen dialogue has him suggest the person he just beat up to come speak with him later if they were interested in joining Amnesia. Chaos himself was recruited by Gordeau after the former was able to manifest Azhi for the first time and escape from Orie.
* ReluctantWarrior: Chaos tries to avoid conflict since he apparently doesn't like fighting anymore but tends to be pulled into the action to simply prove that brain trumps brawn. With his primary role as that of the strategist, he's much more comfortable sending others to fight when necessary and downplays his own skills to try and avoid being sent out himself.
* TheRival: Apparently, to Gordeau. It's to the point that they have the first rivalry-specific music in the game.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Bespectacled, and one of the smartest characters not just in Amnesia, but the setting as a whole.
* SpellBook: His Chaos Code acts as the catalyst from which he can summon Azhi Dahaka.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Azhi Dahaka in the English localization is instead spelt as "Aji D'haka".
** This even applies to his name, where Chaos in katakana is written as "Keiasu" instead of the usual ways to write in katakana being "Kaosu", "Keeosu" and "Keiosu". [[spoiler:It may instead actually hint at the portions used for his name if written in Western order however....]]
* ThrowTheBookAtThem: His Code Reflect command normal has him magically sending his book forward with a [[InstantRunes light rune]] accompanying it.
* TranquilFury: He's absolutely livid when he finds Gordeau badly hurt from fighting Hilda and Hilda just decided to leave him there to die in arcade mode.
--> '''Chaos' thoughts''': (If he's not waking up why didn't you take him to a hospital, you dumb cow?)
* UnnecessaryCombatRoll: Has one as his Force Function, which not only can dodge attacks, but can easily cross-up his opponent during sandwich combos or get him out of tight spots into a nifty position of a reversal in the hands of a skilled player.
* WhiteCollarWorker: He seems to make a fair bit of money from his unspecified profession, at least enough to confidently say he and Hilda's income can keep Gordeau's bar in business with their patronage alone. Tidbits suggest that he's part of some business firm.
* WildCard: Chaos only has one goal: Learning the truth about the Hollow Night. To that end, he winds up throwing his lot with Amnesia, the Night Blade, and Kuon to satisfy his never-ending curiosity, though Chaos admits that trusting Kuon was a blunder on his part given that the Aeon is out to destroy the world.

-> A second-year middle school student who heard rumors of the Hollow Night and decided to investigate the claims with her friend, while having a slight misunderstanding of the context of what the Hollow Night actually involved. She accidentally runs into Hyde where she accuses him of being some lecher and the ensuing commotion of their meeting attracts a Void that attacks and bites Nanase. Hyde dispatches the Void and saves Nanase's life and leaves her in the park after she regains consciousness. Since then, Nanase has been strangely infuriated by her transformation into an In-Birth and hunts down Hyde with a notable passion that quickly earned her a reputation among those who have been intrigued and confused by her manhunt.\
Nanase possesses the EXS of Vengeance: '''Windmill''', which grants her power over wind and the ability to summon a large blade called '''Zephyr''', as well as granting her the small wings on her shoes that allow her to float.\
Nanase's gameplay is reflected with her emphasis on staying airborne, manipulating her fireball trajectories, and extensive air combos, as well as an arsenal of mixup tools.\
Her Force Function, '''Breeze's Liberte''', gives her a secondary jump mechanic that further increases her air-time and allows for her to set-up ambiguous jump-in angles and attacks.\
Nanase's Infinite Worth, ''Atmosphére of the Aether'', has her delivering an upward swing that launches the opponent, from which she manifests a ball of wind-based EXS and forcibly shoves it into the opponent's chest [[Manga/Naruto Rasengan-style]].\
Her Chronicle Mode episode is called ''Dreams of the Night''. Nanase and her classmate Tomomi head out into the city's park at night to confirm the rumors regarding the Hollow Night are true, where Nanase mostly thought to herself that the rumors involved something of a sexual nature instead of anything related to super-powers. She encounters Hilda before she runs off and encounters Hyde, who she tries to antagonize before she is bitten by a Void in the ensuing confusion.

----

* ActionGirl: Fueled by some twisted sense of vengeance from gaining super-powers, she heads out into the night to hunt Hyde. She was also described as being notably tomboyish prior to her current appearance as she used to style herself with shorter hair and play sports with her male classmates.
* BadassAdorable: In a sense, as her Chronicle Mode at least helps alleviate her vindictive attitude towards Hyde by showing her to be very idealistic in becoming a proper lady after she met a old foreign couple before the story began.
* BelligerentSexualTension: It's implied by her arcade ending, character description, and some lines in Chronicle Mode that [[spoiler: one of the reasons she's so fixated on Hyde and thinks he was coming on to her like a pervert when they first met is because she finds him attractive. Unfortunately, her youthful immaturity that comes with being a middle schooler and constant misunderstandings lead to her not being able to express these feelings properly]]. Nanase DOES manage to come to an "understanding" with Hyde by the end of her Sys:Celes arcade ending where they are now just "friends".
* {{BFS}}: Her sword, Zephyr. She is apparently able to swing it so easily because of the ever-constant stream of wind that follows her.
* BlessedWithSuck: What she thinks being an In-Birth is. Compare this to Phonon who actually WANTED powers and is absolutely ecstatic that she has them.
* BlowYouAway: Her EXS ability pertains to controlling the wind, which she integrates into the majority of her moveset.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Phonon but the latter is more concerned with silencing Nanase from sharing embarrassing stories of her past.
* ConfusionFu: In essence, this is what her playstyle boils down to. Nanase has some of the most aerial movement options in the game so the best way to play her is to move in ridiculously unpredictable paths while airborne. While unpredictable movement is best with any character, Nanase's tools allow her to do almost anything once she jumps, making reads extremely hard against her. On the ground, she's significantly more limited but she has a fast sliding dash just in case she decides not to jump for another surprise for the opponent.
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Nanase is a subtle TakeThat to violent {{Tsundere}} girls that jump to conclusions that have overrun anime and games for years. Instead of being endearing or having heartwarming moments with her dere side, she not only causes trouble for the actual protagonists, no one can understand her thought processes either and her few friends have to have a lot of patience to tolerate her. It's still PlayedForLaughs, but her multitude of negative traits land her solidly in JokeCharacter territory.
* DeusSexMachina: [[EpicFail How she initially thinks people become In-Births due to her ridiculously low intelligence and misunderstanding everything she hears]]. This is because Nanase stumbled upon a pornography site while looking up the Hollow Night and believed that people become In-births through sex. As a result, she thinks the void biting her was Hyde using brainwashing powers to molest her for some reason when he obviously did nothing of the sort [[spoiler: in fact, it should have been fairly obvious to most people he was desperately trying to protect her even with Nanase being completely uncooperative with him]], nor can he even mind control people to begin with. [[spoiler: It finally takes Linne, Orie, and Vatista spelling it out to her that her situation has nothing to do with him for her to drop it, and at most she becomes a very Tsun-sided {{Tsundere}} towards him]].
* DramaticWind: Even when she's standing idle, wind blows on her GirlishPigtails.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Originally meant to be in the arcade version of the vanilla version. Until she went AscendedExtra to be PromotedToPlayable in the console version of the ''Exe: Late'' update.
* FalseRapeAccusation: Nanase accuses Hyde of being a rapist due to a misunderstanding of ''epic'' proportions. Between stumbling on a porn site while researching the Hollow Night, and being involved in a void incident with Hyde, Nanase believes people become In-births via DeusSexMachina. As a result, Nanase almost ruins his relationships with Linne and Orie in her arcade story. ([[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Vatista]] on the other hand merely thought Hyde forced Nanase to wear clothes).
* FinalBoss: Of Phonon's arcade mode.
* {{Foil}}: To Phonon. While Nanase never wanted powers, Phonon actively seeks them out. Their transformations into In-Births are very different as well. [[spoiler:Phonon nearly gets herself killed in a traumatic experience due to seeking out a void on her own that almost eats her. This leaves her begging for her life and at that moment wishes for a normal life as long as she doesn't die before she gets her powers and gets drunk on them, but in Nanase's case she wasn't in any real danger due to Hyde being there and because she passed out during the process her transformation was much less mentally scarring, and only accepts her power after she realizes she's stuck with it and it isn't Hyde's fault]]. Nanase also is mostly well-intentioned IdiotHero with an emphasis on "[[InsaneTrollLogic idiot]]" who values her friends, while Phonon is smart (but nowhere near as smart as she thinks she is) and is a jerk to everyone even if they care about her. [[spoiler: Nanase is also completely disgusted by [[BigBad Hilda's]] behavior, but Phonon wants to become just like her]].
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Most of the other characters don't hate her and she is definitely not on the bad guys' side, but tolerating her antics gets tiring for even the likes of [[TheStoic Vatista]] and [[NiceGirl Orie]]. Nanase's only real friend is Tomomi with [[{{Chuunibyou}} Phonon]] being too lost in her made up persona to be anything more than a complete {{Jerkass}} to her, even if Nanase still considers her a friend. She currently seems to fit in decently well with the EFG.
* GirlishPigTails: Nanase sports this style after growing out her BoyishShortHair in the past. Phonon initially didn't recognize her because of this switch.
* GratuitousFrench: All of her moves, including her Force Function are written in a combination of both French and Japanese.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Chronicle mode revealed that only reason that she mistakenly thinks Hyde is a pervert and a molester [[CovertPervert is that she herself tends to jump to extremely perverted conclusions]]. Nanase's imagination tends to gravitate towards the [[HormoneAddledTeenager more lewd explanations]] when she doesn't understand something, [[BrainlessBeauty and with her Hilda-level intelligence]], Nanase misunderstands [[TooDumbToLive just about everything]]. Funnily enough, Chronicle mode also revealed that [[CovertPervert Hyde's]] [[IdiotHero thought process]] has a few of the exact same problems. But he's slightly smarter and [[AllLovingHero MUCH nicer]] in comparison to Nanase and as a result, has more self-control. In fact, it's heavily implied that [[spoiler: Nanase actually has a crush on Hyde, which makes her behavior towards him even more erratic around him than it is normally]].
* IdiotHero: Not only does she somehow mistake Hyde for being a pervert when there's absolutely no way he did anything wrong to her [[spoiler:(he actually saved her life)]], she presses her senior, Phonon's BerserkButton multiple times by calling her by her real name. Despite being fairly difficult to interact with and causing a lot of trouble, she's on the good guy's side and [[spoiler: is probably on decent enough terms with Hyde after her arcade mode]]. Fulfills this doubly so when she goes on to save the world by defeating Kuon purely because she still needs to a world with Hyde in it to settle her "feelings".
* InASingleBound: Her Force Function, Soyokaze no Riberete (Liberté/Liberty of the Gentle Breeze), which causes her to fly high into the air for some aerial gimmicks. Can also be done in midair like a DoubleJump, but not from the grounded version of the Force Function.
* InsaneTrollLogic: The only reasonable explanation as to why she thinks Hyde "violated" her. Chronicle mode finally showed her thought process, and it makes even less sense now.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: A complete BrainlessBeauty that jumps to wild conclusions and nearly gets herself killed by being uncooperative, and then blames her savior when she becomes an In-Birth. Her entire arcade scenario involves her nearly ruining Hyde's relationship with several other girls with her false accusations born from said wild conclusions. That said, she cares about Phonon enough to [[spoiler: not break Phonon's {{Chuunibyou}} delusions to keep her happy even after Phonon beat her up quite badly]]. Nanase also tells herself that she never wants to grow up to be as cruel and heartless as [[{{Jerkass}} Hilda]], and she does [[spoiler: warm up to Hyde a bit in her ending.]] To put it simply, Nanase is just an average middle schooler who lacks the intelligence or maturity to not be a jerk to most of the cast despite being a decent human being.
* JokeCharacter: Storywise only. Nanase's arcade mode (and some of her chronicle mode) is basically one giant joke at Hyde's expense. Hyde is not amused. She is also the only character among the canonical 22 characters, excluding Kuon himself, whose arcade final boss is not Kuon.
* LauncherMove: Her 3C, much like Hyde's. Only she handstand-kicks her opponent upward. Also has a ton of these with her other moves. She carries a unique trait where she's the only character who can jump-cancel off blocked launchers.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FALwmWd9qxA Gallant Girl ~Blowing Wind that Flows from the Sky~]]''. She also has ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFIpDllHJI8&ab_channel=HYDEgaming1 The Azure Faraway]]'' as her unique end credits theme.
* MovesetClone: To some extent, Nanase's moves and animations appears to have taken a lot of inspiration from Hyde, where they are extremely offensive close-range fighters that work on dominating the opponents. Only difference being that Nanase's playstyle focuses more on confusing the opponent and getting them into the air where she can dominate them with her strong aerial game whereas Hyde focuses on applying constant pressure on them with ScratchDamage and zoning capabilities.
* OneHandedZweihander: Occasionally wields her sword like so for some moves, but other than that, she normally wields it two-handed.
* OneWordVocabulary: At least when it comes to the English language. Nanase found the word Windmill exceptionally cute for some reason and wouldn't you know it, that's what becomes she's known as out in the Night, as well as being the name of her ability.
* PowerPalms: Her Infinite Worth, Atomosufia no Tenkuu (Atmosphère/Atmosphere/Ambiance of the Aether), involves her uppercut-slashing {{Shoryuken}}-style her opponent into the sky, then generating a wind-ball on her free palm to grind into them not unlike Manga/{{Naruto}}'s Rasengan.
* ShipTease: [[spoiler: She becomes a {{Tsundere}} towards Hyde in her arcade ending, showing him a minuscule bit of her dere side]]. In fact, part of the reason why Nanase deluded herself into believing Hyde was coming onto her is because she herself has a crush on him. In her Chronicle Mode, she even visualized him as a prince in her fantasy. However, Hyde doesn't reciprocate these feelings at all and has no intention to.
* {{Shoryuken}}: Her midair 8C, Tamani wa Ra Aruto (La Halte/The Stop/The Halt Once in a While), Anju no Sasoi (Ange's/Angel's Invitation) and Kaze ni Mau Purumaaju (Plumage/Feathers Dancing in the Wind).
* SingleTargetSexuality: Implied. If Nanase wins against the other males in the roster, she states to finds them to be attractive, but her eyes are currently locked onto Hyde as she continues her pursuit.
* StalkerWithACrush: Nanase has developed a reputation for constantly hounding Hyde ever since she became an In-birth. Orie is aware of this and attempts to apply a restraining order on Nanase due to her misuse of her EXS for such a purpose before being called out on it by Nanase.
* UngratefulBitch: [[spoiler:How does she repay Hyde for saving her from a Void? By accusing him of being a pervert and chasing him all over the city just to kick his ass.]]
* {{Tsundere}}: Acts a lot like one. Nanase is Deredere by default, with the Tsuntsun rearing its ugly head when Hyde is involved somehow. [[spoiler: She starts to show a ''tiny'' bit of Deredere to Hyde in her ending.]] However, in ''Sys:Celes'', Hyde [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome all but tells her to go fuck herself]] in his win quote against her.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Nanase is a bit frustrated in Phonon's arcade ending about Phonon attacking her and trying to forget their time together. [[HiddenHeartOfGold She still decides to play along to make Phonon happy anyway]]. They appeared to have reconciled in Londrekia's arcade story to the point where they now fight together. Further still, Nanase joins Phonon in the EFG.
* WindIsGreen: She dresses primarily in green, and the tornadoes she summons for her attacks are also green.

-> A mysterious young man who wanders the night accompanied by his older sister, Tsukuyomi. Byakuya's apparently calm and composed figure compounded by his unnatural politeness leaves him with a very eerie presence which is realized with his activities in the Night as his sister's bodyguard. Byakuya obeys his sister without question and fights on command, what he does afterwards is more [[ImAHumanitarian disturbing.]] What he wants is uncertain as he only listens to his sister's will.\
Byakuya's EXS Ability is the EXS of Dark Spikes: '''Chelicerata''', which allows him to spin webs like that of a spider's and prey upon the EXS of others. His weapon is the '''Eight Legs of Shredding: The Predators''', which takes the shape of eight large dagger-like blades similar to a spider's legs that mysteriously hover around Byakuya's body. They are able to be freely manipulated into spinning, growing in length, cutting, and essentially act as extra limbs for him to use.\
In terms of gameplay, Byakuya is able to space out his attacks with his long-range and utilize his grd-block stealing webs to keep his opponents trapped on the screen, limiting their options.\
His Force Function '''Can I Leave This Gadget Over Here? (Just kidding)''' adds to his repertoire of tools to open his opponent's defenses by feigning a web set-up and striking with his extended Predator blades.\
His Infinite Worth, '''Become A Part of Me''', has him enveloping his opponent in a large web cocoon before using his Predator blades to slice away at the cocoon like a giant pincushion.\
Byakuya's Chronicle Mode Story is ''I Love My Sister'', which covers his close relationship with his sister and how he eventually succumbs to some mysterious creature before he awakens and finds himself reborn as an In-Birth.

----

* AnimalMotifs: The spider. He traps his opponent in webs for several of his moves and his Infinite Worth EXS ''Endless Nightmare'' shows the eight floating daggers he wields attached to his back, which only makes him look like one.
* ArchEnemy: Is most likely going to become this to [[spoiler: Zohar.]] Considering that [[spoiler: she was the one who nearly killed Strix and put her into a Zero Vessel state.]]
* AxCrazy: To say that this kid is unhinged is one ''hell'' of an understatement.
* BecauseYouCanCope: [[spoiler: In his ''[=UNI2=]'' ending, Byakuya ends up betraying "Tsukuyomi" by shattering Zohar's tainted Vessel, in the process getting rid of the "other self" which caused her to have her mental breakdown. Byakuya calls her by her real name, Strix, and says that now that she's achieved her goal, they no longer need each other. After rendering Strix unconscious and leaving a new scar "left by a stranger instead of a friend", Byakuya disappears to parts unknown.]]
* BerserkButton: Don't ever, ''ever'' threaten or harm his sister.
* BornUnlucky: Judging by what he says about himself in his Chronicle Mode story and [[spoiler: his sister's death]], Byakuya's luck is almost nonexistent. Evidence suggest that his body is rather frail to begin with.
* BrotherSisterIncest: His love for his [[spoiler: late]] sister is a bit ''too'' on the side of obsessive, to the point where he had various pictures of her, risque or otherwise, pinned around his room. He tries to deny having any incestual thoughts, but whether or not he's being honest is up in the air.
* BrotherSisterTeam: With Tsukuyomi. [[spoiler: Except his ending reveals that they were only pretending to be one. This is actually played straight once he learns her true intentions and decides to keep helping her.]]
* ConfusionFu: Byakuya is able to fake planting a web in both his "Shall I Leave This Gadget Over Here?" and "Almost Ready To Eat!" specials. The former being his Force Function. He also has a feint "command grab" like maneuver and his Infinite Worth is also a unique that it counts as a grab and cannot be blocked normally.
* CreepyChild: He's rather short, and his mannerisms can be absolutely unsettling.
* DumbMuscle: Downplayed. While he's not muscular, he is certainly powerful and treated as such. Likewise, while he's not dumb he doesn't feel easy with things like details or small talk.
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler: After psychotically lashing out at people on the street and breaking down crying, Byakuya completely goes off the deep end and starts talking about being with his sister "forever". The implications speak for themselves, though it takes surviving a Void bite to make him snap out of it and continue living on.]]
* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: By far his most notable feature. He doesn't really emote much beyond his iconic PsychoticSmirk and his listless eyes punctuate just how utterly broken and insane he is mentally.
* HairTriggerTemper: He can go from calm and mild-mannered to angrily yelling like a lunatic in a moment's notice.
* HowlOfSorrow: [[spoiler:Lets out one of these after it finally sinks in that Tsukuyomi is dead.]]
* HumanoidAbomination: Byakuya's entire Arcade Mode encounter conversations is centered around what the hell is the deal with his powers. While his larger goals is helping his sister search for Zohar, Byakuya's potent EXS abilities are noted by these key encounters.
** The first is Hyde, who doesn't make too big of a fuss aside from remarking how creepy and cocky Byakuya is while noting Tsukuyomi's good looks. Ironically, Hyde's own EXS powers are explained to be similar to that of a Void's, a comparison to Byakuya's own EXS that becomes markedly clear in the next couple encounters.
** Second is Merkava, who notices that Byakuya's body, particularly his stomach is wholly surprising, even to a Void itself. Merkava states that Byakuya shares a lot of similarities with its own body and sees that "something" has actually entered Byakuya's body physically. Chronicle Mode confirms this after describing ''something'' slide down the poor kid's throat.
** Third is Chaos. Chaos is immediately able to tell that Byakuya's EXS powers are no joke and asks if Byakuya has merged with a Void.
** Last is Hilda, an individual with limitless EXS, who also sees that Byakuya's own massive EXS is enough to creep even her out.
** A run-in with Vatista in Sys:Celes' Arcade Ladder has Vatista come to the conclusion that Byakuya's abilities resemble an FLS ability than an EXS ability.
* ImAHumanitarian: As noted above, he eats his victims. Sometimes alive. According to one of his win quotes in ''[=UNI2=]'', he's doing this to consume their EXS, which furthers his Void-like nature.
* ItsAllMyFault: [[spoiler:After Tsukuyomi dies, Byakuya develops an intense guilt complex, blaming himself for her death. It only ends up causing him to spiral further into madness.]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAQuBoQbA0k Beat Eat Nest]]''. He also has ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuzuWNvms4w&ab_channel=HYDEgaming1 Cradle In Doom]]'' as his unique end credits theme.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: He is referred to as "Predator".
* NotBloodSiblings: [[spoiler: As revealed in his ending. Chronicle Mode reveals that his real sister was killed months ago.]]
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler:In an insanity-induced trance, Byakuya goes out to look for his dead sister. The noise of the bustling city and the bright lights end up getting to him and he completely loses it.]]
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: He looks like one and Hyde even supposes he's coming from another middle school nearby when they meet in his Arcade mode.
* ShoutOut: Byakuya bears a resemblance to [[VideoGame/{{Persona4}} Yu Narukami]]. Meanwhile, his use of floating blades somewhat resembles that of [[Franchise/BlazBlue the Murakumo units.]]
* SlasherSmile: His story dialogue sprites include an [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/in-birth/images/7/79/Story-bya02.png/revision/latest?cb=20141124100108 fairly creepy one.]]
* TrapMaster: His playstyle allows him to place down webs that allow him to trap opponents and can even combo off of placing down a web. Also one of the privileged few who can combo off their grabs.
* TragicMonster: [[spoiler:Chronicle Mode reveals that he was once a pretty normal kid, rather unhealthy obsession with his sister aside. Until one day, he winds up finding his sister's corpse in the street after getting into a fatal car accident, causing him to go off the deep end. All of this turns into a downward spiral, resulting in his transformation into an In-Birth.]]
* TraumaCongaLine: [[spoiler:To start, Byakuya loses his sister in a fatal car accident. This ends up driving him into a suicidal depression. After that, he ends up being attacked and nearly killed by a strange creature, leaving him with strange claws growing out of his back and driving him even more insane. By the time he meets Strix, he's apparently fallen so far into madness that he went on a killing spree while looking for his sister, who he knows died months ago by that point.]]
* {{Troll}}: He takes quite a bit of pleasure of winding people up to goad them into fighting him.
* UndyingLoyalty: To his sister, Tsukuyomi. During his story, he's mostly her attack dog. [[spoiler:In his ending, it's revealed to be charade they both put up. It even looked like he was going to betray and eat her at the end, but after learning what her motivations are, he decides to keep helping her. He also becomes completely convinced that Strix is his sister reincarnated, despite Strix being born around the same time as her. However, it's later revealed he doesn't actually believe that, and he eventually decides to pierce both Zohar and Tsukuyomi's Vessels to let them start over again before he parts ways with them both.]]
* VocalEvolution: In ''II'', Creator/MutsumiTamura gives him a noticeably deeper voice, making him sound older.

-> A senior middle-schooler and Nanase's upperclassmen, Phonon (real name: Yoshiko) was entranced by the rumors of the Hollow Night and sought after gaining abilities for herself. After an encounter with a void and barely escaping with her life, she was soon approached by the student vigilante group known as the EFG who help inform and train students like her who become In-Births in self-defense. Overjoyed with the fact that the rumors were true, she reluctantly joins the EFG while secretly wishing to simply use her abilities for herself. She heads out into the night to freely play around with the abilities she sought after for so long and brazenly ignoring her EFG commitments.\
Phonon possesses the EXS of Resonance[[note]]Literally Violent Sound[[/note]]: '''Baroque Noise''', which allows her to generate extremely powerful, sound-based attacks. This is paired with her weapon of choice, '''Muniel''', a snake-like Void gifted to her by the EFG vice-commander Tsurugi during her induction. Muniel transforms into a whip and the lashing is paired with sound-projections that she is able to send out against her enemies.\
Phonon's sound-based abilities are exemplified through her projectiles' multi-hitting properties as well as through her other disjointed reversals and specials.\
Phonon is unique in the fact that she has two Force Functions. Her first Force Function, '''Impulsive Frustration''', is an anti-air that has Phonon spinning her whip above her head before bringing it back down in an explosion of pure sound. Her second Force Function, '''Echoing Reiteration''', is a series of whip strikes that can be followed up into three different attacks depending on what button is pressed after the third strike. Timed button presses can also improve the damage of the initial strikes.\
Phonon's Infinite Worth, '''Binding Beatitude''', has her pinning her opponent up against an energy-based wall and then delivering a series of whip lashes, the final one causing the wall behind the opponent to break.\
Phonon's Chronicle Mode episode is called ''A False Identity, A True Self'', which covers her attempts at becoming an In-Birth, succeeding at running into a Void out at night, and making it out of the encounter alive. Days later, Phonon is scouted out by members of the EFG who bring her to their headquarters and ask for her temporary cooperation to which she accepts after being bribed with a weapon they offer her in return.

----

* ActionGirl: While other girls are out to fulfill a duty, pursue their noble goals, or strive for ultimate power, Phonon is mostly out there fighting because she wants to simply use her powers and revel in how cool she is.
* AnimalMotifs: Considering that her weapon is a snake.
* BoredomMontage: Wasn't satisfied of her peaceful life and seeks for her "true self" instead.
* BerserkButton: She doesn't like being called by her actual name, Yoshiko, and insists that you call her Phonon. Make that mistake repeatedly, and she will whip you real good, as Nanase learns the hard way.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Nanase, who she used to be close with during their younger days. Phonon was an avid storywriter and a fan of magical girl shows and Nanase admired her for her imagination. These days they're still good friends, but their personalities tend to clash a lot more.
* {{Chuunibyou}}: Phonon, or rather, Yoshiko's, defining character trait. She jumps at the chance to make her magical girl fantasies real albeit with a bit more of an edgelord variety fitting of a middle schooler. This leads her to make some incredibly stupid decisions and even makes her ''attack'' Nanase when Nanase is only trying to be nice to her.
* CombatStilettos: Wears a nice pair of black heels which also serve to add to her {{Sadist}} theme.
* CuteButCacophonic: Her voice can be rather annoying at times.
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Much like Nanase deconstructs the typical anime {{Tsundere}}, Phonon or rather Yoshiko deconstructs the cute young {{Chuunibyou}} girl character type. It quickly becomes clear that unlike typical examples of this in recent anime where the girl is kind and harmless but needs friends to pull them back to reality and usually will do so after a dramatic experience brought on by their constant seperation from reality, Yoshiko's delusions are strong enough to make her a physically violent {{Jerkass}} who is so in to her made up identity and worried about being embarrassed that she is incapable of having friends, with a particularly bad violent outburst at Nanase. When a chance to actually gain powers shows up, she becomes LethallyStupid in her pursuit of them. Her SuicidalOverconfidence problems continue after gaining her powers, putting herself in constant danger during the Hollow Night. She also has constant fears of embarrassment ''from being a normal girl'' that is so overwhelming that she [[spoiler: only temporarily discards them during a near-death experience.]]
* {{Foil}}: To Hyde, who [[IJustWantToBeNormal wants to lead a normal life]] but was pulled into supernatural events against his will, while Yoshiko [[IJustWantToBeSpecial refuses to be a normal person]] and willingly became an In-Birth to live out her power fantasies. Exemplified by the way they refer to themselves in the Hollow Night - Hyde [[RealNameAsAnAlias goes by his real name]] (it's admittedly a pretty cool name), while Yoshiko insists on being called by her made-up alias Phonon, [[{{Chuunibyou}} which she believes to be "the true name of her soul"]].
* IgnoredEpiphany: Phonon learns nothing from [[spoiler: the absolutely terrifying experience of nearly being eaten by a void and feeling like she was dying from her In-Birth transformation sickness. She desperately wishes that she wants her normal life back during her near-death experience, but goes back to being obsessed with EXS powers immediately after]].
* HeadphonesEqualIsolation: Subverted as it mostly protects her own ears from being damaged by her sound-based attacks.
* InsufferableGenius: She's noted to be quite fond of wisecracking, and looks down on others.
* {{Jerkass}}: Phonon's delusions cause her to act extremely selfish and cruel to those around her. Being a moody middle school aged girl, anything she finds embarrassing (and fitting of a middle schooler she's embarrassed about almost every aspect of her life) will set her off, causing her to become rude and even violent. Her opinion of herself is also far too high when in reality she isn't too wise and is just as much of a plaything for the supernatural forces of the Hollow Night as everyone else, leading her to treat everyone else like crap.
** She's also the only girl in the story to [[ChickMagnet meet]] [[AllLovingHero Hyde]] and hate him(unlike Nanase, who's a {{Tsundere}}), [[DisproportionateRetribution simply because she thinks he acts like a dork]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjZNWs9uQZU Sound Of Night Wind♪]]''.
* LongRangeFighter: She's got one hell of a range with her whip.
* MirrorCharacter: Of Hilda, something that worries Gordeau. Not only does also she have an overblown ego, thinking that she's far stronger and smarter than she actually is, she also shares Hilda's sadism and domineering personality. It's mostly PlayedForLaughs. She also shares a similar playstyle to Hilda's being a long ranged zoner that fills the screen with hitboxes while keeping away from her opponent. [[spoiler: She also longs for powers that no one is meant to have out of overconfidence that she can handle it. Her experience becoming an In-Birth is eerily similar to Hilda's seeking to become a Re-Birth and may be subtle {{Foreshadowing}} of Kuon's warning to Hilda. Up until the point where her life is in danger, Phonon shows no fear and seeks out something [[FateWorseThanDeath that can kill her or worse]], but it all comes crumbling down once she encounters the void. After a long and horrifying chase Phonon internally starts begging for her life as her soul's existence starts to become unstable from the void's bite. Once the initial danger is over, she reverts back to her SuicidalOverconfidence, [[TooDumbToLive jumping into the Hollow Night with no concern for her own safety]]]].
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: As Phonon's main defining character trait is IJustWantToBeSpecial, [[spoiler: her horror and frantic wishing for a normal life in her near-death experience shows how in over her head she really is. She immediately regrets ever wanting powers as long as she doesn't die]]. Unfortunately, the lessons from this experience don't stick.
* PhoneyCall: Phonon is not above using her membership of the EFG to her advantage as she apparently fakes phone-calls to imply that she is with a number of other EFG members to intimidate opponents she doesn't want to deal with to back off.
* PluckyComicRelief: If her Chronicle Mode and Arcade Mode stories are anything to go by, Phonon definitely has less stakes involved in her storyline than most of the other characters. She just wants to be cool and use her powers because they're just cool. The encounters with Hyde, Gordeau, Hilda, Nanase in the Arcade Mode are pretty comical all things considered.
* PowerTattoo: Phonon's Sys:Celes arcade ending concludes with her victory over Kuon but the burst of power she utilized ended up giving her some elaborate "winged serpent" looking tattoos on her back and on her arms. Tsurugi points out that this usually occurs when someone burns too much EXS at once and he's seen it multiple times among other EFG members. He suggests Phonon to take a break for now but also whispers to Komatsu to personally keep an eye on Phonon now as he suspects Meuniel's power is affecting Phonon more than she realizes. This might suggest Meuniel is not entirely benevolent and that its power-host relationship with Phonon might not be 100% safe.
** An interesting scenario where this also counts as SlidingScaleOfGameplayAndStoryIntegration where this newfound power through these snake tattoos is shown through her Enhanced Augmentation install super where her attacks are vastly buffed for a window of time. This buff is indicated by a snake icon underneath her healthbar.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Meuniel, a small, white snake that sounds like a cat and communicates via cow noises. It manages to possibly outdo Kuu in the cute Void department.
-->'''Meuniel''': ''Muu...''
* {{Sadist}}: Her playstyle certainly looks the part, with some dominatrix elements incorporated into it. This image of a sadist-dominatrix is something she tries to pose as during the Hollow Night and her Arcade Mode has her looking to meet Hilda to learn how to best live out this image despite the protests of Gordeau.
* ShoutOut: Of [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Whip]] in term of playstyle and personality.
* TheStoic: She's normally rather cool and collected out of battle, but...
** NotSoStoic: Her cool facade comes down when her BerserkButton is pressed or in battle. Actually, it comes down a lot more frequently than one might think. While she is definitely skilled, she's still very new to the scene. She tends to overthink things and play herself up more often than not. She also panics [[spoiler: when the void she searched for nearly kills her, wishing she had never done it and that she only wants to be normal as long as she survives.]]
* WhipOfDominance: Her weapon is a whip, which transforms from her pet snake, fitting with her domineering personality and tendency to look down on others. During Hollow Night she plays it up even more when she explicitly styles herself as a sadistic {{Dominatrix}}.
* WouldntHitAGirl: Subverted as Phonon frequently uses this type of phrasing when she loses and backhandedly insults her opponent for fighting so seriously against a girl.

Her Force Function is '''Mika Crash''', which allows her get the drop on the opponent with a downward, rocket-propelled punch. She gains a new Force Function '''Mika Press''' where she hops into the air to hit her opponents with both her fists at a downward angle.\
Mika's Infinite Worth, '''Mika Revolution''', has her deliver a rocket-powered uppercut that launches her and the opponent into the air before using the thrusters of her gauntlets to descend back down with enough speed to cause an explosion.\
Mika's Chronicle Mode Story is called ''Meeting with a Friend'', which details her escape from Licht Kreis' headquarters, where she defies her orders to stay behind and finish her assessment to help Orie and her friends in Japan. Mika survives her superior's rather brutal challenge of being forced to abandon plane mid-transit, living off the land on a remote island, and eventually crossing the sea on a makeshift raft before she finally arrives in Japan.

----

* ActionGirl: While not the sharpest tool in the shed, she's got the strength to make up for it. She definitely means well as her duties as an Executor has her out fighting for a just cause.
* AmazonBrigade: The Vanguard of Orie's 4-person Executor Squad.
* AscendedExtra: Mika is only mentioned and seen in Orie's Arcade ending. Come Late[st], she becomes a fully playable character.
* AssKicksYou: Her Hip Attack super and 3B both involve her leaping into the opponent rear end first.
* BadassAdorable: Equally capable of taking names and captivating hearts.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Don't be fooled by her idiocy and {{Cloudcuckoolander}} tendencies. Mika is rumored to have enough raw strength to rival the likes of [[TheDreaded Wagner]].
* ButtMonkey: If the piles of humiliation she suffers in her own Chronicle mode story aren't enough, she hurts herself even after winning a match.
* ChurchMilitant: As per her duty as an Executor of Licht Kreis.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: She's certainly out there, if her suddenly bursting into rap during her argument with Silvaria is anything to go by.
* CuteBruiser: She's an adorable, if unintelligent, young girl and she hits like a freight train.
* {{Determinator}}: If her introduction is to be believed, she went through ''a lot'' just so she could help Orie.
** Turns it it's all absolutely true.
* DumbBlonde: She's not a very bright individual and is frequently teased for her lacking intelligence. Her fellow teammate Kaguya is notable for messing around with her the most.
* DumbMuscle: She can rival the likes of Hilda in terms of stupidity.
* {{Engrish}}: Specials aside, she has a few instances of this. Most notably in her dashing C and Force Function.
* GenkiGirl: Mika is ''very'' hyperactive. It's rather noticeable in her walking animation, where she skips instead.
* GenreMotif: Johann Pachelbel; specifically, his famous ''[[Music/PachelbelsCanon Canon in D]]'' piece. Her date of birth, March 2nd, is one day before Pachelbel's date of death, her gauntlets are collectively known as the Pachelbel Cannon, and a part of the actual song can be heard in her theme right before it loops.
* GirlishPigtails: Rather short ones too.
* GlassCannon: Despite how much damage she can put out, she takes hits about as well you'd expect a teenage girl wearing next to no armor to.
* IdiotHero: She's an Executor of Licht Kreis, obviously meaning that she fights on the side of good. She's also hilariously stupid.
* JokeCharacter: Her Chronicle mode "story" more or less amounts to one long HumiliationConga for her as she tries to get to Japan to meet up with Orie, all depicted in [[StylisticSuck terrible crayon drawings]]. She used to be considered this in gameplay, but players getting better with her has made Mika be taken more seriously in the competitive environment.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wqrtJTLXTU Forceful Step]]''.
* MegatonPunch: Her modus operandi.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: She's somehow able to heft around and slug things with those massive gauntlets of hers with little issue.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: She's a measly 2 centimeters taller than Vatista, the shortest member of the cast, but shares Waldstein's role as the local grappler.
* PluckyComicRelief: When she was introduced, she beat out [[UngratefulBitch Nanase]] as the number 1 joke character of the series. Her Chronicle Mode episode seems like something ripped straight out of a gag-manga.
* PowerFist: Her weapons of choice, called the Pachelbel Cannons.
* ShoutOut: Her boisterous attitude, reliance on a pair of oversized steel gauntlets, and partnership with a more traditionally ladylike enforcer may remind people of [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Vi.]] Even their poses in both their official artwork and idle stances are the same.
* StandardSnippet: Her leitmotif incorporates a small snippet of Pachelbel's ''Canon in D'', the same track that her fists get their name from.
* {{Stripperific}}: Her sleeveless, midriff-revealing top and shorts aren't exactly modest.
* StylisticSuck: Most of the background images of her Chronicle Mode story consist of her rather poor crayon drawings.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The Tomboy to Orie's Girly Girl.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: She gets this a lot due to her childish appearance and her low rank in the Licht Kreis. No one, save for Waldstein, takes her seriously.
* UnskilledButStrong: Mika's fighting style mostly consists of flying into her opponent via her Pachelbel Cannons and wildly attacking with [[RapidFireFisticuffs rapid-fire punches]], fist slams, [[AssKicksYou butt bounces]] and tripping herself up when up close.
* VagueAge: While most of the teenage characters have approximate ages due in part to knowing what school year they're in, Mika has no such privilege, due to going AWOL to help Orie and not being properly enrolled in any school. The only clue we have is that she's seen wearing the same school uniform as Orie in the latter's arcade ending, and that was long before anything else about her was revealed.
* VerbalTic: Ends most of her speech with "yuu".

-> A distinguished member of Licht Kreis who is renowned for her prodigious abilities and brutality against her foes. Going by many titles such as the "Void Hunter", and the "Crimson Knight", Erika Wagner is widely known and feared by the Executors of Licht Kreis for her attitude and formidable strength. She is the highest ranking playable Executor of Licht Kreis, occupying the fourth seat above Orie. Whereas Orie was mostly sent with intentions to strengthen up and investigate the recent influx of In-Births, Wagner was sent to broaden her horizons. Outside of work, she attends an all-girls' academy as a second-year student and currently under probation after committing yet another offense shortly before the current story began.\
Wagner possesses the EXS of Incandescence[[note]]Literally Scorching Heat[[/note]]: '''Flame Tyrant''', allowing her free rein over fire as well as making her immune to cold temperatures. She goes into battle wielding her shortsword and shield combo of '''Fire Brand''' and '''Ancile''', which work in conjunction with her abilities to strengthen her attacks. Her mask, the '''Aegis''', is another one of her armaments that magnify her potent powers even further.\
Wagner is a rushdown character with the unique ability to install buffs to her weapons through certain specials. When buffed, Wagner's normals and specials gain unique effects and give her access to new, highly damaging combo routes.\
Wagner's Force Function, '''Schild Zack''', has her perform a back-handed shield bash that nullifies projectiles and knocks opponents back, stunning them if fully charged. Buffing her shield beforehand grants her Force Function a guard-point that can punch through most opposition that tries to impede the shield bash. Wagner gains two new Force Functions with '''Eroberung''' a large empowered aerial slash that hits all around her and extends her air-time and '''Hollenbrand''' a running attack that sends forth a wave of fire.\
Her Infinite Worth, '''Hitze Vogel''', sees her enveloping herself in flames and rising up into the air. Should she connect with her opponent whilst doing this, they will be engulfed in a stream of fire.\
Wagner's Chronicle Mode story is called ''A Saint Appears'', which details her every-day life at school with her attendants Sakurai and Murayama. In the middle of her mundane discussions with them over lunch, she is finally given orders from Licht Kreis' HQ to monitor the upcoming duel between the groups Amnesia and Bankikai. She is also notified that she will not be attending her current all-girls academy any longer in favor of further expanding her perspectives by attending a co-ed school, much to her horror.

----

* ArchEnemy: Gordeau ''really'' hates her and wants her dead for her execution of Roger after he was transformed into a Void. [[spoiler: It really isn't personal though. Gordeau is just taking out his frustration at not being able to MercyKill Roger. In reality, she saved Gordeau's life.]] Londrekia also sees her as Licht' Kreis' poster-girl for him to bring down to repair relations between Licht Kreis and the Ritter Schild.
* AscendedExtra: Was only mentioned by a select few characters at first and never appeared in the actual story outside of Chaos' Arcade ending CG in ''Exe: Late''. She finally made her first on-screen and playable appearance in the console version of ''Exe: Late[st]''.
* BrokenTears: At the end of her arcade mode, [[spoiler:Wagner completes her assignment to dismantle Amnesia and leaves the Altar of Light and Darkness and burns it to the ground, with Gordeau and Hilda still inside. As she contemplates that she's just taken two more lives and how she's nothing more than a tool to be used, she walks away with tears in her eyes.]]
* ChurchMilitant: As per her duty as an Executor of Licht Kreis, though it veers more into KnightTemplar territory.
* CombatStilettos: Wears knee-high boots with heels into battle.
* DamageOverTime: Possesses a unique debuff in the game that applies a Burn effect on her opponents.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Wagner's personality has evidently become a lot less hostile in the three-months of downtime between Hilda's defeat and Kuon's Final Night. She is more willingly to accept responsibility for her actions, for the actions of her Licht Kreis compatriots, and her vitriol against Orie has seem to have been lessened.
* EvolvingAttack: She can apply fire to her sword and shield to give them additional effects. These include increased chip damage on her sword-based attacks, frame advantage if her shield attacks are blocked, armor on her shield specials, and follow-ups to her sword drill.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: She's quite attractive without the mask, and yet she's arguably worse than even [[AxCrazy Carmine]] in terms of sadism and killing intent.
* FantasticRacism: Granted, it's in the job description for the Licht Kreis to hunt Voids, but Wagner has ''far'' more passion for it than is perfectly healthy.
* FinishingStomp: Her unique grab, "Filthy dog!" While not optimal nor frame advantageous, is a combo ender that can be used to finish out a match in a satisfying manner.
* ForceAndFinesse: The Force to Londrekia's Finesse. Unlike Londrekia, Wagner's fighting style focuses on getting up close and personal with brutal-looking and reckless strikes with both her sword and her shield, and she doesn't have a problem with [[CombatPragmatist playing dirty either]].
* ForegoneConclusion: Because Chronicle Mode takes place before Arcade mode, the player has probably played through Wagner's Arcade story and already know that Adelheid's plan to get her to break out of her KnightTemplar mindset by sending her to have a normal school life is doomed to fail, despite Wagner showing some signs that she might improve. [[NiceJobBreakingItHero If anything, Adelheid made it worse by making Wagner think the whole ordeal is a waste of time.]].
* FullNameBasis: Tends to address Orie this way.
* GenreMotif: [[Music/RichardWagner Richard Wagner]]. Not only does she share the same surname as him, her birthday, May 23rd, is one days after his, and her theme shares similar pacing to many of his pieces, including ''[[Music/RideOfTheValkyries Ride of the Valkyries]]''.
* GlassCannon: In ''Exe: Late[st]'', she and Hyde have the second lowest HP totals of the entire cast, with Seth just being the lowest possible below them.
* GratuitousGerman: All of her move names, and of course, her surname.
* HatedByAll: Virtually everybody that knows of her steer clear of her including her own allies within Licht Kreis such as Orie and Lex. [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Hilda thinks she's deplorable.]] Her only real "friends" are her two attendants, Sakurai and Murayama and even their connection with her is questionable. Orie however does make genuine attempts to try and befriend her.
* HiddenDepths: Her Arcade mode ending makes it clear that she's starting to crack from all of the violence and murder she commits for Licht Kreis. Unfortunately, she doesn't actually regret any of the horrible things she's done either.
* {{Jerkass}}: Takes great pleasure in cutting the enemies of Licht Kreis down without mercy, and she has a track record of [[TeamKiller killing its allies as well]].
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: Her combo-ending "grab" has her step on her opponent and send them flying with a fiery explosion.
* KillItWithFire: She hunts down Voids with not only a sword and shield but also with formidable fire-based abilities thanks to her Flame Tyrant ability.
* KnightTemplar: Extremely ruthless towards her foes, and sometimes her allies, having killed the Third Executor sometime before the main story for unknown reasons. Despite this, she still forces herself to believe that everything she does is done in the Licht Kreis' name.
* LadyOfWar: She has the appearance of one, but considering the rest of these tropes about her, the "lady" part rings hollow. She is however a proper "lady" as she comes from an influential family with ties to Licht Kreis that has lasted for multiple generations. Her attendants also address her as "Erika-sama".
* LastNameBasis: In-game, she is most commonly referred to by her surname, Wagner.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obGZ0OdrhGo Flame & Destiny]]'', as well as ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mhcoP0Br7c Incompatible Relation]]'' for matches against [[RedOniBlueOni Londrekia]]. She also has ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv_ZP_ykL_k&ab_channel=HYDEgaming1 The Requiem for The Crimson Sword]]'' as her unique end credits theme.
* LightIsNotGood: Her appearance gives off the imagery of that of a KnightInShiningArmor, yet she's absolutely merciless in her methods.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Buffing her shield allows for her Sturm Brecher and Force Function to eat through projectiles and enemy attacks if the move is contested against her. Her regular FF also negates projectiles. A blocked Shield Charge that is buffed gives her a frame advantage.
* NoodleIncident: At some point in the 3 months of transferring and attending her co-ed school, Wagner was seen naked by Hyde.
* NoSocialSkills: She has lived quite a sheltered life with many amenities coming from her family's influence. While she's not entirely spoiled, her problematic demeanor in her work ethic as well as inability to speak her feelings easily leaves her with trouble making friends. One of the primary reasons she was sent to Japan and made to attend school there was for her to learn a few life-lessons and break out of her narrow world-views. She apparently lacked in this department so much that her cover as a student was just as it was: as an "ignorant rich girl", made easier so she didn't have to act. Her Chronicle Mode chapters do reveal that she is ''trying'' to get better. She is also notably aware that her narrow hyper-focus when it comes to missions is one of the biggest hurdles she has there, as she keeps getting distracted and sidetracked.
** By her arcade mode ending, she's basically given up on trying to fix this and goes full throttle into her KnightTemplar worldview, vowing to kill everyone affiliated with the Night Blade.
* PlayingWithFire: Her EXS ability, Flame Tyrant, gives her control over fire.
* PowerLimiter: In Londrekia's arcade story, Wagner reveals that she is under restriction by the higher ups in the Licht Kreis, so the playable version has been fighting with only a fraction of her original strength without the "Aegis". That said, she is still powerful enough to give [[AnIcePerson Londrekia]] a hard time and completely trivialize [[YinYangBomb Hilda]] in her arcade story.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She has red eyes which she typically hides behind a mask, the first red flag that something is seriously wrong with her.
* RedOniBlueOni: As mentioned in Orie's folder, she's the red to her blue which is even reflected in their clothing. The two are frequent sparring partners and Wagner treats the relationship as a one-sided rivalry while Orie never sought to compete with her. It's much more pronounced in her rivalry with Londrekia however, down to the conflicting clothing colors, as well as their powers.
* RunningGag: Wagner appears to have a habit of believing people to be dead when they're reallty not. Orie, Mika, Kaguya, [[spoiler:and Londrekia]] all end up falling victim to this, with Orie already being unconscious by the time Wagner gives her euology, Mika and Kaguya getting particularly offended, [[spoiler:and Londrekia scaring the shit out of her when he reveals he's NotQuiteDead]].
* ShieldBash: Her Force Function, increased jump-B attack, and Shield Charge.
* SpectacularSpinning: Her Kugel Blitz and Wachenröder involve [[ThisIsADrill drilling through her opponents]] while she's surrounded with fire. The latter is her Shoryuken-reversal that has her ascend while spinning with fire dancing around the edges of her sword.
* SoreLoser: Wagner doesn't take Londrekia defeating her in his Arcade story well ''at all''. Despite getting back up for more, Londrekia declares the match to be over, leaving the disgraced and embarrassed Wagner alone in the Sanctum of Reflection, cursing his name.
* SuperpowerfulGenetics: Dialogue between her and Orie as well as her introductionary text reveals that Wagner's Flame Tyrant ability is somehow inheritable as she received it from her grandparents.
* TeamKiller: Sometime before the story, Wagner killed Licht Kreis' Third Executor for unknown reasons.
* TheRival: She views Orie as one while the latter has no idea why they need to compete against each other. Chronicle Mode reveals it may be for the sake of keeping up appearances, however. She considers Londrekia one after he defeats her in his arcade story.
* TokenEvilTeammate: For Licht Kreis, where it's stated that she even killed the Third Executor.
* TornadoMove: Her EX Lohen Garde will cover her in a pillar of flame that buffs both her sword and shield, as well as dealing damage to those caught up in it.
* {{Valkyries}}: Obviously themed after one, even gaining flaming wings in her Infinite Worth EXS. Her name is another unsubtle hint, given [[Music/RideOfTheValkyries the musical piece]] most commonly associated with [[Music/RichardWagner the composer whose name she shares]].
* WorfHadTheFlu: Londrekia was able to defeat Wagner in his arcade story as she did not have the "Aegis" on her at the time. Ditto for the rest of the cast that encounter her in their stories.

-> A muscular old member of Amnesia who was scouted out by Hilda after hearing of an In-birth who relied on his martial prowess over his EXS abilities. A skilled practitioner of his family's ancient martial arts, Enkidu deliberately got himself bitten by a Void so he could become an In-Birth to battle Gordeau, the "strongest In-Birth" and reach a new plane of competition beyond normal humans. Enkidu's motivations stem from the death of his late mentor and his feeling of powerlessness to help him inspired himself to pursue strength in all things. He hopes that in the end he'll find enlightenment through the pursuit of strength and come to absolve himself of his mistakes.\
Enkidu possesses the EXS of Calamity[[note]]Literally Sinful Whirlpool[[/note]]: '''Maelstrom''', which binds Enkidu to a strange and destructively powerful vortex. Due to the small wound he received when he was bitten, Enkidu is unable to fully tap into this power. He has no weapon to speak of, only relying on his mastery of the martial arts he has dedicated himself to over many years.\
Enkidu's unique gameplay mechanic, '''Havoc''', adds extra frames of hitstun as well as damage to opponents he lands a counter-hit on, allowing for combo routes not normally possible without Havoc's effects.\
His Force Function, '''Tidal Spin''', acts as his anti-air move, which has him perform a rising spinning kick to catch airborne opponents. He gains access to a new Force Function '''Demonic Formation''' which has Enkidu hold up a stance before striking his opponent with an elbow strike, autoparrying anything that hits him if he increases it.\
His Infinite Worth, '''Spiral Twin Palm Strike''', has two variations depending on what distance it's used at. When used up close, Enkidu delivers an explosive double palm strike that launches the opponent in an violent swirl of EXS. If used from a distance, or if the opponent is blocking, Enkidu instead releases a KamehameHadoken that he can combo off of.\
Enkidu's Chronicle Mode story is ''Festival Flames'', which has him attending Hilda's afterparty to celebrate Amnesia's bittersweet victory over Bankikai. Here, he attends a meeting with both her and Chaos, and becomes slightly more acquainted with the both of them.

----

* AmbiguouslyBrown: Has a darker complexion than most characters, but is never elaborated on.
* AscendedExtra: His only appearance up until he was made playable was as a brief cameo in Hilda's ending.
* BarefistedMonk: Enkidu doesn't use any weapons, and his EXS powers are quite weak, but still fights completely bare-handed.
* TheBigGuy: For Amnesia. [[spoiler:He leaves at the end of his Arcade story to seek stronger opponents, coming to Kuon's employ instead by the time of Sys:Celes.]]
* BloodKnight: To the extent that he allowed himself to be bitten by a Void because he ran out of human opponents to fight. He's quite thankful that the Hollow Night lets him fight with all he's got.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: If someone insists on fighting Enkidu and he is not pleased with his opponent's strength, he considers them to be a weakling wasting his time and he will kill them. Orie learns this the hard way in his arcade route, despite his TheReasonYouSuckSpeech to her and multiple attempts to make her leave. However, if he thinks someone gave him a good fight, there is a chance he will let them live in hopes of bringing him more good fights in the future.
* ChainedByFashion: Has two large, broken cuffs on his wrists with chains hanging from them.
* ChallengeSeeker: After running out of human opponents to fight, Enkidu voluntarily became an In-Birth so he may find supernatural ones instead.
* CharacterDeath: [[spoiler:Is presumably killed by Wagner in her Arcade story.]]
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: His immense strength is from years of martial arts training.
* CoolOldGuy: While he seems like a stoic, quiet figure, he's actually rather easygoing and is said to often tease Gordeau every now and then. He is also rather polite with how he thanks his opponents during his match-winning dialogue for giving him an enjoyable challenge. He is also empathetic to Gordeau as he had also lost someone close to him in an unforeseen accident.
* CounterAttack: His Stance of Circulating Control will nullify and/or counter anything that isn't a grab. But it's reliability is rather poor. This also applies to his unique Havoc mechanic allowing him mostly win counter-hit trades. His new force function also has an auto-parry attached to it if he increases it.
* DamageOverTime: Havoc's effects work similarly to a poison/burn debuff where it's extra damaged is applied separately.
* DumbMuscle: Enkidu has no problem admitting that he's not the smartest individual but his thirst for fighting belies his philosophy and insightful view of battle, though he seems less impulsively stupid compared to other examples. He's also well aware that he is genius compared to his [[spoiler: former]] boss, Hilda.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: While an In-Birth like the others, Enkidu's powers are significantly weaker than normal due to the small size of the Void bite he received, but he bridges the gap with his years of martial arts training and experience. Sys:Celes Arcade Runs with Vatista and Merkava confirm that Enkidu has BARELY any trace of EXS compared to an average in-birth.
** Enkidu's physical abilities are impressive enough to earn praise from Seth and Wagner, one who is similarly well-trained in a physical sense while the other is gifted with powerful EXS manipulation.
** [[spoiler: Enkidu's immense power might also be because of his origin where he seems to be housing a literal demon inside his body instead of anything we've come to traditionally know with in-births.]]
* EyesAlwaysShut: He is almost never seen with his eyes open, only opening one during his match start animation and opening both [[LetsGetDangerous during his IWEX.]]
* {{Expy}}: To [[Videogame/MeltyBlood Kouma Kishima]] gameplay wise and [[Videogame/FatalFury Geese Howard]] in terms of design. Character wise, he serves as this series' answer to the likes of [[Franchise/StreetFighter Akuma]] and [[Franchise/{{Blazblue}} Azrael]], a BloodKnight with a strict sense of honor and wishes to find a WorthyOpponent in battle.
* FightsLikeANormal: Enkidu's fighting style is nearly devoid of EXS, throwing down with the best of the In-births under the night using nothing but his martial arts training.
* {{Foil}}: To his rival, Waldstein. Both are old men and for the most part fight with their bare hands, but while Waldstein is loud and boisterous, Enkidu is more reserved and diligent. Meanwhile, Enkidu [[WeakButSkilled lacks any notable strength, but has the combat experience to make up for it]], while Waldstein prefers [[UnskilledButStrong a more direct and brutal fighting style that takes full advantage of his strength]]. Enkidu is also mostly motivated to fight strong opponents, with very little loyalty keeping himself tied to Amnesia whereas Waldstein is entirely motivated by loyalty to Kuon's request and has his desire to fight strong opponents on the side. The two come to an alliance under Kuon during the Final Night.
* GracefulLoser: Most characters are in shock, disappointed, angered, sad, or even embarrassed when they lose by time-out. Enkidu, however, has the least annoyed expressions during his time-out loss pose as he simply sits down seiza style waiting for the next match to begin.
* HurricaneKick: Subverted. Instead of going horizontally, his Force Function has him go upwards in a spiral akin to [[VideoGame/FatalFury Rock Howard's]] Rising Tackle.
* LargeHam: He tends to be rather loud whenever he's fighting.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJnJVCTvVuY Extreme Stream]]''. He also has ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E76gfSkemg The Fierce Darkness]]'' as his unique end credits theme.
* MrFanservice: Perpetually shirtless, putting his heavily muscular tone and arm tattoo on full display.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Some of his nicknames include "The Maneater" and "The Sin Slaying Beast".
* NoSocialSkills: Slightly subverted. While he's not exactly hopeless, he still struggles a bit when it comes to extended civil conversation.
* NotSoAboveItAll: According to Gordeau, the normally stoic and quiet Enkidu can be somewhat of a joker and likes to tease the former every now and then. Similar to Chaos, Enkidu also likes to take jabs at Hilda.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Really, the only thing about Enkidu's appearance that suggests he's aging is his grey hair. He could easily pass for someone in his 30s or even 20s.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Subverted. Either due to natural forgetfulness or old-age, Enkidu mostly refers to his colleagues by their nicknames. He refers to Gordeau as Greedy One/One of Greed (Gouyoku no mono), Chaos as Chaotic One/One of Chaos (Konton no mono), and Hilda as Dazzling Darkness (Mabayuki Yami).
* PowerLimiter: The shackles on his wrists seem to act like this. [[spoiler: They seem to keep the "demon" inside him at bay. When he releases them to kill Kuon in his ''Sys:Celes'' ending, the demon inside him seems to take control of him.]]
* PowerPalms: His Infinite Worth, Rasen Soushouda (Spiral Twin Palm Strike). When used from a distance, however, it functions as a KamehameHadoken.
* PowerTattoo: During his IWEXS, Enkidu's entire body-outline becomes a shadowy figure with his eyes, mouth, and his tattooed right arm surging with power.
* RedBaron: He's garnered a reputation as the ''Maneater'' (or literally, "Rakshasa").
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Waldstein's red.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: At the end of his arcade scenario, he quits Amnesia and leaves to parts unknown, believing to have done his part. He promises to be back for the next Hollow Night to kill them all in one on one combat, despite somewhat liking them.
** He joins up with Kuon and maintains a cordial relationship with his former compatriots at Amnesia, even visiting Gordeau's bar at one point.
* ShockwaveStomp: His Trampling Echo special.
%%* SuddenlyVoiced: In his debut in UNIEL, he doesn't speak a word.
* TheQuietOne: Only speaks when absolutely necessary. He becomes a lot louder when fighting however.
* TheRival: To Waldstein and Gordeau. While he entered the Hollow Night specifically to fight Gordeau, it's been mentioned that he has a score to settle with Waldstein.
* TheStoic: To the very end.
** NotSoStoic: However, his inner monologue during his Chronicle story shows that even his patience is tested when it comes to [[DumbBlonde Hilda]].
* ThreeStrikeCombo: Enkidu's normals are unique as his Medium and Heavy buttons can be repeatedly pressed to have him execute a simple three hit chain, six if all three hits from the medium attacks are canceled into the heavy ones. His Three Forbidden Impacts special are also, as their name implies, three powerful strikes. The charged medium and EX version instead goes for a singular, but powerful punch.
* {{Troll}}: Teases Gordeau quite alot.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Wears a robe that only goes down one side of him in cutscenes, exposing most of his bare chest. In battle, he ditches the robe.
* WeakButSkilled: Not by human standards, but Enkidu is noted to have very faint In-Birth powers. His skill with ancient martial arts bridges the gap in power quite nicely. This was apparently the reason why Hilda recruited him and a feat that surprised Seth on how someone with very little grasp on their EXS abilities is able to survive out in the Hollow Night.
* WildCard: As of his Arcade ending, he has disbanded from Amnesia to seek out stronger opponents, meaning he has no allegiance to any of the current factions and serves as neutral party, though Enkidu does end up joining Kuon in Sys:Celes to fight as many In-births as he could during the final night, before finally deciding to have one final battle with Kuon, both for the sake of the world and for the sheer thrill of the battle.
* WorthyOpponent: His desire to find one is what led him into the Hollow Night in the first place. He appears to have found a few in Waldstein and Gordeau. He is however unable to fight both of them properly as his fight with Waldstein has Enkidu realize that Wald cannot fully fight to the death because of his duty towards Linne. In Gordeau's case, Enkidu considered Gordeau unfit to fight at his absolute best with thoughts of his late-friend still heavy on his mind.

-> A high ranking member of Ritter Schild, a branch and rival faction to Licht Kreis that was formed following Adelheid's decision to make Licht Kreis an all-female organization. Londrekia Light is Ritter Schild's ace in the hole, having been raised potentially since birth to fight against Licht Kreis, more specifically, the Wagner family. Though he was initially sent to Kanzakai on the orders to investigate the rumors of a Void hiding in the local mountain wilderness, Londrekia eventually hears of Erika Wagner's presence in the city, and sets off to fulfill his objective of proving Ritter Schild's worth and to hopefully bring an end to the feud between the two factions, once and for all.\
Londrekia's EXS Ability is the EXS of Iceflowers: '''Dare Glacial''', which gives him the ability to freeze and manipulate the air around him, effectively giving him complete mastery over ice. This ability is channeled through his weapon, the '''Holy Staff: Riddle''', a staff that can split off into two segments: The actual staff part; the '''Scepter''', and a pair of wings that provide a boost to Londrekia's powers; the '''Reactor'''.\
Londrekia is a mid-range character with a high emphasis on closing the gap with rekkas and projectiles. Unique to him is a '''Freeze''' mechanic where some of Londrekia's attacks afflict the opponent with a debuff which, if they are hit with one of these moves again, completely freezes them, allowing him access to some of his most damaging combos.\
His Force Function, '''Frozen Cleave''', acts as his DP reversal and has him summoning a pillar of ice to launch his opponent into the air, the follow-up, '''Frozen Cleave: Bisect''', sends them back down to the ground.\
His Infinite Worth, '''Hailstorm''', has him summon a torrent of icy wind. If they opponent is caught in it, they will be repeatedly pelted with large hailstones.\
Londrekia is the only playable character to not have a dedicated Chronicle Mode story, but his arrival in Kanzakai is [[ADayInTheLimelight heavily documented]] in Merkava's story, ''The Beast and the Hunter'', which details his encounter with the eponymous Void and his meet-up with Lex Bartholomeus from Licht Kreis, where he is informed of the recent events that have transpired.

----
* EleventhHourSuperpower: Londrekia reveals a new term called "Genesis" an ability that goes beyond EXS and unleashes it on Kuon at the end of his arcade mode. This mostly seems like his IWEXS used canonically along with some references to Niflheim alluding to his ice powers. This technique freezes both Kuon and the Abyss in time and seemingly Londrekia too.
** [[spoiler: Until he pops out of the snow to a bewildered Wagner in the middle of giving him a sincere eulogy.]]
* AlliterativeName: '''L'''ondrekia '''L'''ight.
* AllLovingHero: Played with. Londrekia refuses to attack Merkava simply because of his civility and refusal to kill when he's able to, but he goes out of his way to help Merkava, and even going as far as promising to save him, he could even be considered the closest thing the Void has to an actual friend. However, when fighting against Merkava, Londrekia either spares him, due to his faith in the creature's human side, or will fulfill his original objective and kill him.
* AnIcePerson: Thanks to his ability, Dare Glacial, which gives him the unique Freeze mechanic. Similar to Carmine's EX "Launch!" where he freezes his opponent in place briefly, Londrekia's ability allows him to place an Freeze debuff on opponents when hit with particular specials. When they are hit again with a one of these specials, the opponent become fully encased in ice, which give Londrekia access to some of his most damaging combos, separating it from Carmine's EX move where it helps him start his set-play.
* AscendedExtra: He only had one scene in ''Exe:Late [st]'''s Chronicle Mode. He becomes a fully fledged playable character in ''Exe:Late [cl-r]'', and even has top billing on the game's box art.
* BadassInANiceSuit: That fancy two-tailed coat and cravat doesn't stop him from being one of Ritter Schild's top dogs. You'd have to be pretty strong anyway if your entire life was dedicated to being an anti-Wagner weapon.
* BigGood: Out of all of the characters affiliated with Licht Kreis, he's arguably this, being a soft-spoken and down-to-earth warrior who is determined to fulfill his duties, but is not afraid of [[AllLovingHero potentially befriending enemies]], and whose driving motivation is to mend a [[ReconcileTheBitterFoes centuries-long rift]] between two of the biggest factions along the In-Birth Front.
* BladeSpam: Londrekia's 5B has him repeatedly stab his opponent with the pointed end of his scepter, the 5BB follow-up has him deliver a final lunging thrust that sends his opponent flying.
* BlowYouAway: Londrekia has the ability to manipulate the wind somewhat. It's more obvious in his Infinite Worth, Hail Storm, which has him trapping his opponent in a small tornado while they get pelted with massive chunks of ice.
* ButtMonkey: Slightly. While sharing a rather sympathetic conversation with Merkava, the latter takes Londrekia's luggage case, leaving him to chase after the Void all the way back down a mountain trail and into the city, leaving him gasping for breath by the time he gets back down there. Despite the prank-like act, he actually delivered the luggage to Licht Kreis' office for him to pick up later, saving Londrekia the energy to haul it all the way down. He also gets mistaken for a pervert by Phonon.
* CaneFu: Londrekia fights using his scepter, Riddle, wielding it similarly akin to a rapier when he isn't using his powers.
* CannotTalkToWomen[=/=]NoSocialSkills: Thanks to the massive rift between Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild, Londrekia has had ''very'' little interaction with women, outside of getting constantly harassed. His conversation with Lex was something he wasn't expecting since she didn't antagonize him by any means. This also ends up coming back to bite the poor guy in the ass when he tries to interrogate Phonon and Nanase, only for the former to start accusing him of perving on them.
* CursedWithAwesome: Defeating a student character in Sys:Celes reveals that Londrekia is slightly envious of the regular life that the kids are living through. This implies that he did not have such opportunity while being raised from birth to fulfill the Ritter Schild's noble ambitions at the cost of his youth.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: His hair and [[IcyBlueEyes eyes]] are a very cold looking blue, befitting his ice powers.
* DanceBattler: Londrekia is very graceful in his fighting style, with some of his attacks looking very akin to figure skating such as his Circular Step special, which incorporates a number of sweeping and leaping kicks.
** Further strengthened by his battle lines for Circular Step using musical tempo terms such as Pesante, Legato, and Animato.
* DownloadableContent: While Londrekia technically makes his debut in ''Exe:Late [cl-r]'', he also can be purchased as DLC for those who own ''Exe:Late[st]'', making him the first DLC character in the series.
* DubNameChange: The English version of ''Exe:Late[st]'' changes Londrekia's surname from "Light" to [[SpellMyNameWithAnS "Wright"]], which is most likely a mistranslation, however. Thankfully, this is fixed in ''Exe:Late[cl-r]''.
* FloralThemeNaming: Between the rose of ice he tosses in his match win animation, one of his EX moves being named Frozen Vine, his Ice Blossom, and his intro blurb, Londrekia's metaphorical transition between "winter to spring" involves the relationship between Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild and his hopes to unite them.
* {{Foil}}: To Erika Wagner. Both are renowned Void hunters, but while Wagner is female, sadistic, merciless, and uses [[PlayingWithFire fire powers]], Londrekia is male, collected, willing to befriend potential foes, and uses [[AnIcePerson ice powers]].
* ForceAndFinesse: The Finesse to Wagner's Force. Londrekia's fighting style is elegant and graceful, befitting his theme of ice; using elements of [[DanceBattler figure skating]], as well as fencing techniques in his attacks.
* GenreMotif: [[Music/FryderykChopin Frédéric Chopin]]. His {{Leitmotif}} is very piano heavy and even includes a snippet of Chopin's 1st Ballade.
* HeManWomanHater: Downplayed, but his upbringing in the Ritter Schild caused him to be either slightly wary or socially awkward of those of the opposite gender, especially if they are affiliated with the Licht Kreis (no thanks to the hostility between the two factions). Fortunately, his interaction with Lex caused him to realize that there is hope that the rift between the two organizations can eventually be mended.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:In his ''[=UNI2=]'' ending, Londrekia is forced to use up all of his power in order to seal the Abyss before it opens up entirely, turning the entire area into a wintery landscape, seemingly at the cost of his own life. However, TheStinger reveals that he is NotQuiteDead as he unceremoniously pops out of the snow, terrifying Wagner in the process.]]
* HurricaneKick: His Circular Step is as close as you can get to a Tatsumaki with how much kicking and spinning he can do in quick succession.
* IdiotHair: Not as noticeable as the others, but he has a very thin strand sticking out.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-DWvtBXUtk Icefield White Knight]]'', as well as ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mhcoP0Br7c Incompatible Relation]]'' for matches against [[RedOniBlueOni Wagner]]. He also has ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU46Ly1zxkE Invitation to The Ending World]]'' as his unique end credits theme.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Londrekia's usually appears as stoic, collected, and focused on his mission. But even he can't resist getting a bit cocky every now and then.
-->'''Londrekia:''' "How does it feel to be in a coffin of ice? Quite ''[[{{Pun}} cool]]'', isn't it?"
* PowerFloats: He doesn't walk or run so much as he glides across the battlefield.
* PromotedToPlayable: As of ''Exe:Late[cl-r]''.
* ReconcileTheBitterFoes: Londrekia's biggest wish is for Ritter Schild and Licht Kreis to end their rivalry, believing that coming out victorious against Wagner is the key to that being a reality. [[spoiler:It seems to have worked to a degree, since his [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/in-birth/images/8/83/Ed_lnd.png/revision/latest?cb=20191204071327 Arcade ending CG]] has him walking through a hallway decorated with both Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild banners.]]
* RedBaron: "The White Knight".
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Wagner's Red, which is even reflected in their abilities.
* TheRival: Considers Wagner to be this and his ArchEnemy as he believes that he can re-unite the rift between the Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild if he defeats the Licht Kreis' strongest executor. Wagner returns the sentiment at the end of his arcade story
* SomethingAboutARose: One of his match win animations has him throw a rose made out of ice at his downed opponent.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Londrekia and the Ritter Schild's history ended up taking most of the screen time in Merkava's chronicle story.
* SwissArmyWeapon: Londrekia's scepter, Riddle, can also be wielded as a {{BFS}}, namely a rapier. His wing-like devices that assist him in combat act as a part of the scepter when they're not in use..
* SympathyForTheDevil: Despite his orders to exterminate Merkava, Londrekia relents and takes the chance to communicate with the relatively civil creature. He seems to have enjoyed listening to Merkava's insight on his own being and even promised to alter his report and suggests for Merkava to relocate before more teams come to investigate after him. Londrekia even goes as far as to say that he'll come find Merkava if Ritter Schild is able to find a way to reverse the process of being turned into a void.
* ThreeStrikeCombo: His Circular Step is a rekka chain that can incorporate three of four different attacks. The A attack, Outer Edge, is a low kick that hits, well, low, the B attack, Cross Sequence, is a backhanded swipe with the pointed end of Riddle, the C attack, Serpentine Tail, is a multi hitting double kick that hits high and sends Londrekia quite the distance, and the final attack, Hydro Blading, is a two-hit sweep that is activated by pressing the same button twice in a row in one chain. Aside from the sweep, all of these moves can be charged.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Mint-flavored anything, especially ice cream, according to WordOfGod. Fitting, considering [[AnIcePerson his powers]].
* VirtuousCharacterCopy: To [[Characters/BlazBlueJinKisaragi Jin Kisaragi]] (who himself is a CorruptedCharacterCopy of [[Characters/GuiltyGearKyKiske Ky Kiske]]). While both are light-themed {{Bishonen}} high-ranks of their organizations who use [[AnIcePerson ice powers during combat]], Jin is at his best a [[ItsAllAboutMe self-absorbed]] [[{{Jerkass}} asshole]] and SmugSnake and at his worst, a [[MaskOfSanity closeted psychopath]], while Londrekia is a legitimate AllLovingHero who [[SympathyForTheDevil feels bad for the creatures he hunts]] and is considered the BigGood among his organization.

She along with Lex were sent ahead of Orie and Mika to Japan to investigate the city of Kanzakai and its recent increase of In-Birth activity. She apparently was assigned to a different location and only met with Orie, before the former reunited with Lex, and went off on her assignment.

%%* TheUnseen: She was first seen as a silhouette alongside her companions where Orie was the only one visible in the Arcade Opening of the first iteration of the game. Later she shows up in the ending slide picture for Orie's Arcade Mode along with the other girls and she is even directly mentioned in Orie's voiced birthday message. Even in Chronicle Mode where a bunch of new characters were given models, Kaguya is nowhere to be seen despite being mentioned by Lex, Mika, and Orie.
