This is a character page for the Creator/MarvelComics Ultimate Universe setting launched in 2023, described in-universe as Earth-6160.

Earth-6160 is a world where a single villain from another world, armed with knowledge of the superheroes destined to arise, managed to MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight. By the time he's defeated, events take a very different path to the main Franchise/MarvelUniverse.

All tropes for other versions of these characters should go on their respective pages.

[[folder:Iron Man (Howard Stark)]]
!!Howard Stark
!!!'''Alias:''' Iron Man
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #2 (July 2023)

A billionaire industrialist who uses a powered suit of armour.
----
* AgeLift: Originally, he's an adult man when he disappears, when Tony Stark is a teenager, who would typically go one to be one of the more senior heroes in the superhero community. Here, he looks to be in his 30s or 40s, which makes him a bit older than 6160 Peter Parker, who is usually ''always'' Tony's junior.
* AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome: Played with. While he's Iron Man and a badass, Earth-616's Howard Stark was part of the Brotherhood of the Shield that defended the world from apocalyptic threats and would go on to join S.H.I.E.L.D., while this Howard plays catch up behind the Maker for the most part and is something of a FailureHero. While he's more physical and overtly badass, that's about it.
* BrilliantButLazy: What Obadiah Stane accuses him of being, and given what he manages to do when properly motivated, such as make a working time machine, Obadiah was right.
* EveryoneHasStandards: He may be a boozy show-off (albeit an incredibly brilliant one), but he's disgusted and horrified by the violence he witnesses.
* FailureHero: In the end, he learns who Kang is and the defeat on his face says it all. The story implies everything he did just ended up turning Tony into Kang.
* HeelRealization: In his letter to Tony, Howard admits that Maker's revelations to him have made Howard realize that he and Obadiah's war profiteering and reckless inventions aided and abetted the Maker's corrupt system that denied Earth-6160 of its freedom, turning its people from humans into "consumers" caged by propaganda from governments that serve only themselves and not their citizens. He declares that the one truly good thing he ever made was Tony and begs his son to fix Howard's mistakes and heal the wounded planet by being what Howard should have been; a superhero.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Howard and Obadiah are inseparable and for all they bicker and squabble, it's clear the two men love one another as brothers. [[spoiler:Obadiah's death utterly shatters Howard and nearly pushes him past the DespairEventHorizon. Then things get worse.]]
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Kept out of the Maker's inner circle because he didn't care enough to get invested, leaving those matters to Obadiah. Given what happens when he finds out, this might've been a sensible decision.
* UncertainDoom: ''Ultimate Invasion'' ends with him stuck in the City, with his armor busted, stuck between two armies of superpowered beings who now have no reason not to attack him. Reed, when asked, can only admit he has no idea whether Howard's alive or dead.
* WhatIf: He doesn't die here, but becomes Iron Man himself, as opposed to Tony.

!!Obadiah Stane
%%!!!'''Alias:'''
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #2 (July 2023)

----
* AdaptationalHeroism: While still manufacturing weapons, he's a hero in this universe rather than an a supervillain, being essentially the War Machine of Earth-6160.
* AmbiguousSituation: When they talk about it, Tony wonders if Obadiah knew the full extent of the Maker's machinations. Howard prefers to think he didn't, but there's a lot to suggest he really was in on it.
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: [[spoiler:The one and only named casualty of the time travel attack in ''Invasion'' issue 2 is Obadiah.]]
* CompositeCharacter: He's got the BlackBestFriend and armour of James Rhodes, but is otherwise a heroic Obadiah Stane, with the look of the MCU version albeit with a change in race.
* RaceLift: The Obadiah Stane of Earth-6160 is a black man.

* RaceLift: Jarvis in this universe is Indian, however, she's still British.

!!Anthony "Tony" Stark
!!!'''Alias:''' Iron Lad
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #2 (July 2023)

The teenage son of Howard Stark. After receiving a message from his father, he takes on the mantle of Iron Lad in his honour, and carries on the fight against the Maker, with the aid of Doom.
----
* AgeLift: This Tony is a teenager when he becomes a superhero, while the other prominent comic Tonys (616 and 1610) started as adult men. Plus, he's younger than his cohorts, being a teenager when Peter Parker is in his 30s.
* FutureBadass: It's implied that he'll become Kang.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: He wants to free his world from the Maker's clutches, but is framed for a terrorist attack on New York, and is forced to go into hiding as a result.
* LegacyCharacter: He takes on a modified version of his father's armor to become a hero, although he becomes Iron Lad, not Iron Man.
* MissingMom: Absolutely no mention is given on the status of his mother, just that she's obviously not around.
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: His main strategy while in hiding is to restore the heroes whose origins were negated by the Maker.
* WellDoneSonGuy: There are hints that he wants more trust from his father, who brushes him off until he's about to die.

[[folder:The Maker]]
!!Reed Richards
!!!'''Alias:''' Mister Fantastic, The Maker
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Fantastic Four'' #1 (January 2004)

The Reed Richards from the previous Ultimate Universe, and the one who altered the course of Earth-6160's history as an experiment. He secretly rules the world from the shadows, and has altered the trajectory of those who would have become the world's heroes.

[[folder:The Maker's Council]]
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #3 (August 2023)

A gathering of superpowered beings from across the planet, who assist the Maker in controlling the world behind the scenes. Their members include the Hulk, Sunfire, Silver Samurai, Viper, Captain Britain, Khonshu and Ra, Magik, Colossus, Omega Red and Emmanuel da Costa.
----
* DragonAscendant: With Howard Stark and the Maker sealed within The City, their absence has left an EvilPowerVacuum amongst the Northern American Union and collectively the world itself, so the latter's council have taken to tightening their grip on the world for their own gains.
* LegionOfDoom: The Maker's assembly of underlings on Earth-6160 consists largely of characters who are villains on Earth-616, [[spoiler:and are in on his plan to control the world.]] The Hulk stands as the seeming TokenGoodTeammate, horrified by what they do but feeling there's no alternative. [[spoiler:Howard Stark disagrees.]]
* PointOfDivergence: Almost all of the members are noticeably different from their 616 counterparts in some way, from Hulk being much more zen to Captain Britain now being French.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Of the eleven of them, there are only two women present, Viper and Magik.

----
* CanonForeigner: Captain Britain is a man named Henri Dugarry, rather than the typical Brian and Betsy Braddocks.
* CaptainGeographic: The French Henri Dugarry operates through the whole of Europe as Captain Britain.
* EyeScream: Is blinded in one of his eyes during a fight with Tony Stark.
* FrenchJerk: Even if he were not a willing part of a coalition of supervillains secretly controlling the world, he's just generally pretty smug and arrogant.
* TakeAThirdOption: The usual origin stories of Captain Britain (and their multiversal equivalents) is choosing between the Sword of Might or the Amulet of Right, with the Sword being the "wrong" choice. Somehow, Duggary chose both.

[[folder:Hulk (Bruce Banner)]]
!!Bruce Banner
%%!!!'''Alias:''' Hulk
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #2 (July 2023)

----
* GeniusBruiser: Thanks to the Maker's interventions, this Hulk retains his intelligence which still in his Hulk form, and indeed seems to stay in it permanently.
* InSpiteOfANail: Despite the many things the Maker did to Earth-6160's history, he couldn't prevent Bruce Banner being hit by the Gamma Bomb... so instead he just ran with it.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: If the montage in ''Invasion'' #2 is any indication, Bruce was trying to prevent Rick Jones getting struck by his own invention and got turned into the Hulk for it.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Subverted. While he initially seems quite regretful at the thought of the power games necessary to maintain the Maker's system of control over the world, when it looks like it might be threatened he has no problem causing the deaths of hundreds of innocents and framing Tony Stark for it.

----
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: Earth-616 Emmanuel da Costa is a portly man of somewhere past middle age. His 6160 counterpart is a younger man in much better shape.
* AffablyEvil: For a guy who helps run a malevolent conspiracy, he's quite polite to Howard when they meet.

[[folder:Doom (Reed Richards)]]
!!Reed Richards
!!!'''Alias:''' Doom
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #2 (July 2023)

Originally destined to gain superpowers and found a superhero team, the Maker altered his destiny and made him into the image of Earth-616 Reed's archnemesis.
----
* AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome: Compared to the original Ultimate Reed. Seemingly out of pure spite, the Maker tries to break him and turn him into his own version of Doctor Doom... and it doesn't work. While he ''looks'' like Doom, in the end, this Reed is just as noble as Earth-616's Reed, and is able to use his position as the Maker's prisoner to help Howard defeat him and then usher in an age of superheroes.
* CompositeCharacter: He's Reed Richards, but has the look of Doom. He doesn't have magic or stretchy powers, but his intelligence is still there.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Just before he and his friends would become the First Superhero Family, they were abducted by a crazed and villainous version of himself, who killed Reed's friends, made him a prisoner, was tortured, and dressed him up as the man who would've been his archnemesis. But despite this, he proves to the Maker FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse, he refuses to stop being a good man and a hero in the making.
* EvilMeScaresMe: He is the Maker's worst fear. And it goes the other way, as Reed managed to figure out who the Maker was, and does everything he can to stop him.
* FateWorseThanDeath: The Maker imprisoned him and toyed with him so much that he lost track of all time. This was also after faking his death.
* GoodCounterpart: The Maker is often described as Reed Richards if he were Doctor Doom. Here, the Reed Richards of Earth-6160 literally ''becomes'' Doctor Doom due to pure pettiness on the Maker's part. However, he maintains his heroism rather than allow himself to be broken like the other Reed was, turning him into an outright heroic version of Doom who opposes the Maker's meddling with his universe.
* ManInTheIronMask: It's not quite clear if Reed can't or just won't remove the mask.
* PointOfDivergence: The Maker delayed the rocket launch that should have given Reed and his friends superpowers just long enough for them to miss it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kang]]
!!Unknown
!!!'''Alias:''' Kang
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #3 (August 2023)

The time-travelling opponent of the Maker, from the future of Earth-6160. He leads an army of Avengers clones. He's heavily implied to be Tony Stark.
----
* TheAgeless: Claims to be as such, though whether he means it literally or metaphorically is a little unclear.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Has the look and name of one of the biggest foes of Earth-616's Avengers, but in ''Ultimate Invasion'' his only attacks are focused solely on the Maker, who has turned Earth-6160 into his personal petri dish. Exactly what Kang plans to do ''after'' he kills the Maker goes unspecified.
* BrokenPedestal: If he is Tony, somewhere along the way he grew to hate Howard, as he speaks to him with disdain when they meet.
* CompositeCharacter: He's your usual Kang, but his costume is Iron Man armour and the ending of ''Ultimate Invasion'' implies he's Tony Stark, with Tony taking on the Iron Lad moniker (616 Iron Lad ''is'' Kang) and Howard's look of dejection after removing Kang's mask, while Kang also refers to the events of the series as his "origin".
* DeathByOriginStory: He lampshades his battle against the Maker as his origin, and he dies in it.
* DecompositeCharacter: An antagonistic, masked persona with a very personal hatred for a Reed Richards? While Earth-6160's Reed may have the look of Doctor Doom, it's Kang who ''acts'' like Doom. (Fitting, if he is Tony, given how often the two have been compared.)
* EveryoneHasStandards: The first time his forces attack the City, his troops have orders to only hit "acceptable" targets; namely those who are affiliated with the Maker or who attack them. By ''Invasion'' issue #4 he foregoes this, and standing orders become attack everyone but one (of course, since they're inside the City at that point, everyone's affiliated with the Maker anyhow).
* PaletteSwap: Notably, his armor turns out to be a direct copy of Tony's Iron Lad armor, just in green and purple.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Despite the Maker's efforts to prevent any possible threat to his plans from occuring, Kang was someone he did not foresee. And his introduction sparks the events that lead to the Maker getting trapped in the city and Iron Lad and Doom deciding to undo all the damage he's caused.
* TaughtByExperience: His second attack on the Maker, throwing a massive clone army at him in broad daylight, is thwarted and the ancestors of his clones killed via killing their ancestors. Kang sits back for a few thousand years and builds himself a ''bigger'' army.
* TimeTravel: He's from the future and the Maker ran into him when visiting it. Kang himself time travels, but his timeline is affected by changes in the present, likely a reason for his secret identity.
* TheUnfettered: By the end of ''Invasion'', he tells his troops there is no cost too high to pay if it gets rid of the Maker.

[[folder:Captain America]]
!!Steve Rogers
!!!'''Alias:''' Captain America
!!!'''First Appearance:''' ''Ultimate Invasion'' #4 (September 2023)

----
* HumanPopsicle: Still winds up in the ice. Doom and Iron Lad find him, but are hesitant to free him in case something goes wrong.
* TheParagon: What he ''should'' have been, had the Maker not changed things.
* {{Unperson}}: For some reason, no-one in his universe has ever heard of Captain America. Odder still, it's implied this isn't ''all'' the Maker's doing.

* DeadGuyOnDisplay: The Ultimates find his corpse stashed in a Damage Control facility.

* ChekhovsGunman: Mentioned in ''Ultimate Invasion'' issue 2 as one of the victims of the Maker's alterations to history, he's revived by the nascent Ultimates in the Free Comic Book Day special.
* PlayingWithFire: It's how he earned his name.
* TeamMemberInTheAdaptation: Earth-1610 didn't have a Jim Hammond, and their Johnny Storm never joined the Ultimates.
* WeCanRebuildHim: The Maker extracted his brain, but the Ultimates get it back and help restore Jim.
