!!The Heroes

!!Wilhelm
The swordsman from the pilot episode, The Reward.
----
* AdrenalineMakeover: Over his and Vito's adventure, he gains an intimidating wide-brimmed hat, BadassLongcoat and a mustache.
* BadassLongcoat: Has one at the end of The Reward.
* BashBrothers: The entire series starts with both him and Vito becoming this.
* BountyHunter: After having a falling-out with Vito, Wilhelm becomes a part of a supernatural Vampire bounty-hunter guild that targets great beasts to slay with their powerful abilities.
* ButNowIMustGo: When both he and Vito realise they have drifted apart (with Vito wanting to stay with Gaya and start a family and Wilhelm having become part of a guild of similarly abnormal individuals), the two of them part as friends whose lives have just taken different directions.
* Fingore: Gets two of his fingers cut off by Mira.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Vito.
* ManlyFacialHair: Grows some after he takes a level in badass.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Fully capable of taking on dangerous monsters far larger than him, without displaying the same amount of visible body strength possessed by Bruhn and Alethrion.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Has this reaction when he realizes that he and Vito giving away the map to Mik and Ken may have very well doomed the world.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Becomes a vampire (to save his life from a nosferatu bite). He uses an amulet to make sure he doesn't burn in daylight and is able to utilize CastingAShadow
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Gains these after becoming a vampire
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Vito's Red.
* TheStoic: In contrast to Vito's more laidback demeanour.

!!Vito
The wizard from the pilot episode, The Reward.
----
* BashBrothers: The entire series starts with him and Wilhelm becoming this trope.
* EyesAlwaysShut: His eyes are never shown open.
* Foil: Winds up becoming one for Bruhn. Both of them are rather self-confident men with a love for the ladies, but while Bruhn leaves Mira after he finds out she's pregnant for a life of adventure, Vito settles down with Gaya and decides to start a family with her. Also, while Bruhn relies on physical attacks, Vito is a wizard. Amusingly, Daughter's Revenge reveals that the two of them became friends at some point.
* LadyKillerInLove: Is far more into the romantic aspect of being an adventure/hero. He tones it down, however, after this sort of mindset nearly gets Wilhelm killed. Vito begins straying away from the adventurer life to pursue a romance with Gaya, eventually choosing to settle down with her and start a family. He briefly goes back to make sure Wilhelm gets the cure for his vampirism but the two eventually choose to stay as friends, both acknowledging their days of adventuring with each other are over.
* HappilyMarried: To Gaya.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Wilhelm.
* MagicStaff: His weapon of choice.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Like Wilhelm, Vito doesn't have much in terms of muscles, unlike Bruhn. Despite this, he has proven on many occasions to be a formidable fighter than Bruhn.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to Vito's Blue.

!!Amerath

A heroine of justice and the original creator of Alethrion's map. The former partner and lover of the legendary hero Alethrion, a particularly nasty break-up led them to the two of them going their separate ways. Since then Amerath has travelled the land, in search of adventure and heroics.

%%* ActionGirl
* BattleCouple: Was this with Alethrion (till his greed got the best of him).
* BigGood: She was given the last remaining power of the gods and seems to be preparing people to fight against the personification of Alethrion's Greed.
* TheCameo: A hooded individual, with a heavy resemblance to her design at the end of Travelling Deity, is briefly seen with the rest of the vampire's BountyHunter guild in Wilhelm's Curse. Daughter's Revenge confirms to be Amerath.
** She is also confirmed to bealive by the modern day when she shows up as the innkeeper in episode 14 of Choose Their Path.
* TheConscience: Arguably served this role to Alethrion. His greed only got worse after she left him, and it was ultimately the memory of their time together that gave him the strength to seal the personification of his greed inside the chest.
* RedOniBlueOni
%%* WalkingTheEarth: She just wants to explore the world, recognising that ItsTheJourneyThatCounts.

!!Alethrion

The legendary hero for whom the land is named after. Alethrion is long dead by the time of The Reward. However, his legacy casts a shadow across the entire land.

* TheAce: The mightiest monster slayer who ever lived, responsible for saving many villages. His legend was so great that people decided to name the world after him, in-universe.
* BagOfHolding: Chest of Holding to be exact, created by the gnomes of Dunbar as a gift of gratitude. Alethrion used it to hold his vast amount of treasures, and ultimately sealed his Greed inside of it.
* BattleCouple: Was this with Amerath, till their break up.
* BountyHunter: Don't let the moniker of The First Hero fool you. Alethrion's OnlyInItForTheMoney and you'd better have vast riches to pay him with if you want him to save your village from a monster. And if you try to pay him in anything other than riches, he WILL try to murder you.
* DeathByIrony: Not only is Alethrion mortally wounded by his own darker half, but he is unable to escape the other side of the mirror to get help because his treasure chest is weighing him down. Bonus points for the fact it is weighing him down because it contains the living deification of his immense greed, which proves greater than his mighty strength.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Slays a pantheon of gods
* DisproportionateRetribution: When villagers of a town he saved from a monster try to pay him in food instead of riches, Alethrion tries to murder them.
* DoomedHometown: According to WordOfGod, Alethrion began his career as an adventurer when his hometown was destroyed by Kahltofal, a god responsible for the creation of the deserts of the world, who attempted to remake the land by wiping out any traces of civilisation.
* DyingMomentofAwesome: Alethrion is about to lose to his Greed when he remembers Amerath. Using the last of his strength from those happy memories he defeats his Greed and dies knowing he did one good thing.
* FallenHero: Falls further and further down with the first major step being killing fellow adventurers and the second being his slaying of the gods. With that being said, this trope is downplayed, as he was already a greedy, borderline BountyHunter at the start of The First Hero.
* GagPenis: His bulge is second in size only to Uruth's.
* Greed: His main vice, to the point where he literally had to fight a personification of his greed when he realized what he had become.
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: Alethrion is hit with this, realizing the riches, powers, and prestige he gained ultimately wasn't worth throwing away the true love he had. But with both the killing blow he suffered from the personification of his Greed and the chest now being too heavy to move, he dies on top of the throne, chest on top of him.
* HeroKiller: At his lowest point, he eventually resorts to murdering fellow adventurers, just so he can have their treasure for himself.
* LoveRedeems: Alethrion is about to lose to his Greed when he remembers Amerath. Using the last of his strength from those happy memories, Alethrion traps the demigod inside his treasure chest.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When Alethrion sees his malevolent reflection in the Mirror of Truth, he becomes aware of the monster he's become, and reels from the horror of all his evil deeds leading up to that moment.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Would only save villages from monsters if the villagers first paid him with treasure and wealth. This point of view ultimately costs him both his relationship with Amerath and his life.
%%* RedOniBlueOni

!!Mik

A sensitive and brave boy with a love for music. Mik often spends his time walking around with his lute, playing tunes and charming people. Ken doesn't hesitate to throw himself into danger in order to save people who are in need. Having inherited Alethrion's map from Vito and Wilhelm, Mik and his best friend Ken have set off in search of power and adventure.

* TheBard: And takes great pride in it. He was even able to sway a wizard into reversing a Gorgon petrification via his skills.
* BashBrothers: He and Ken start to becomes this over the course of Choose Their Path (partially thanks to Sylvia training).
* BrownNote: Weaponizes one against Wyrmoose's trinket, and manages to free Sylvia.
* DemonicPossession: .
* DespairEventHorizon utterly snuffs out all the joy and hope in his heart.
* Keet: Far more lighthearted and upbeat than Ken.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Mik's blue.

!!Ken

Ken is a sneaky and curious boy with a fondness for tactics. He uses daggers and knows how to intimidate people using the environment as a tool. He admires people with power and is curious about how the world works. He loves playing around with people and figuring out how they react in different situations. He is also not easy to satisfy and doesn't care about money. He seeks answers and is therefore frustrated about not knowing what is on the X on Alethrion's map.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Performs this form of feat when he has to choose between shooting the sphinx or the Arist adventurers. He realizes the painted symbols pasted everywhere were cause by pillagers (with the aforementioned adventurers being a part of it).
* BashBrothers: He and Mik slowly become this over the course of their adventures (partially thanks to Sylvia training).
* CoolShades: Gets a set in episode 14.
* KilledOffForReal: .
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Mik's red
* TheStoic: Often wears a frown on his face, in contrast to Mik's more upbeat attitude.

!!Sylvia

A treasure hunter originating from the flying city of Arist. Sylvia is an admittedly snobby girl who always tries to get her way. Sylvia often spends hours in front of the mirror, focusing on her looks, not because she is narcissistic like Bruhn, but so she can better manipulate other heroes into doing what she wants. Enraptured by the stories of the legendary hero, Alethrion, Sylvia wants nothing more than to find his mythic treasure. Too bad, Vito and Wilhelm have already passed on the map to another duo of adventurers.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Is turned into a mindless servant by Wyrmoose, and then sicked on Mik when Wyrmoose discovers that he is trying to steal back the map.
* IChooseToStay: Both she and Sylvia decided to stay and help Arist recover from the tyranny of the previous leader.
* ParentalSubstitute: Quickly becomes one to Mik and Ken as they help transport the petrified Tatiana to safety, to the point where she both refuses to steal the map from them and later tries to steal it back from Wyrmoose.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Tatiana's blue.
* TheVamp: While she is a skilled adventurer, she's willing to use her seductive skills in order to get what she wants if needed.

!!Tatiana

Tatiana is the brains to Sylvia's brawn. She is fascinated by ancient and undiscovered locations where forgotten artefacts wait to be found. Tatiana is a strong-willed girl, who doesn't hold back when others get cocky and decide to confront her and Sylvia. Tatiana has a number of wise friends across the world, and loves nothing more than when a new mystery comes by her and Sylvia's noses. When she hears about map belonging to the legendary hero Alethrion, her interest is immediately piqued.

* AmbiguouslyGay: Well there's the fact that in her imagination she holds Sylvia in a rather suggestive way. When Sylvia gives up on trying to steal the map, Tatiana spares both Sylvia and the boys even though they would more than likely track her down and cause her further trouble.
** The ambiguity goes completely out the window when she gives one HELL of a kiss to Sylvia in episode 14.
* HeelFaceTurn: Start to perform one in episode 12 The Crystal of Charming, which is solidified in episode 13 Conflict In The Skies.
* IChooseToStay: Both she and Sylvia decided to stay and help Arist recover from the tyranny of the previous leader.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: The mistreatment is not to herself, but witnessing how Sylvia is being treated by both Wyrmoose and the guild is what convinces Tatiana to ultimately betray them.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Sylvia's red.
* SocialClimber: Bringing the map to Wyrmoose will allow her and Syliva to be become "true" members of Arist. Upon doing so, Tatiana appears to have been promoted to Wyrmoose's NumberTwo.
* UngratefulBitch: Even AFTER both Mik and Ken help drag her petrified body to somebody who can free her from the curse she was put under, she still goes through with her plan to steal the map to give to Wyrmoose.

!!Mira

A human-monster hybrid who came to the city of Draloque seeking opportunity and acceptance. Starting off as a noble officer of the law, desiring to uphold justice, Mira soon learned the hard way that justice and kindness was hard to find in the corrupted city of Draloque. Mira briefly regained her faith in life when she met Bruhn... however, her happiness was not to last, and Mira was left alone and pregnant. Eventually Mira decided that if society didn't want to play fair, then she didn't have to either. Mira climbed the hierarchy of corruption with Uruth and Zit by her side, earning success and becoming a feared figure in the streets of Draloque. Though she still considers herself to be a woman of justice, she has lost all faith in the law and heroes who visit Draloque to show off and indulge in their vices. Draloque is her city, and Tira, her daughter, is her champion who will take Mira's place when she grows up.

* BerserkButton: Adventurers and Alethrion's Map, two things that remind her of Bruhn.
* BigThinShortTrio: Thin to Uruth's tall and Zit's short.
* FallenHero: Started off as a noble police officer wishing to uphold justice. After discovering just how corrupt the force was, and being abandoned by Bruhn, while pregnant with his child, she decided to abandon her former ideals and devote her life to caring only for herself and the people she cared about.
* FreudianExcuse: Look at the above, pretty self-explanatory.
* FreudianTrio: The Ego (the leader) to Uruth's Id (the heart) and Zit's Superego (the brains).
* HalfHumanHybrid: A blueskin (part-human, part-monster).
* KilledOffForReal: Was killed off by Wilhelm. To be fair, he did believe that she killed Vito in order to steal the map, and was very likely going to kill him. Plus she sliced off several of his fingers, so it was unambiguously self defense.
* TeamMom: She takes on almost motherly role in her gang, on top of already being a mother to Tira.
* TerribleTrio: With Uruth and Zit.
* TookALevelInCynic: Started off as an idealistic police officer. Eventually, the corruption inside the city got to her, and she became another opportunistic thug.

!!Tira

The daughter of Bruhn and Mira. Tira grew up on the streets of Draloque, where she learned how to talk and behave among bandits and criminals. Growing up she never knew her father, only her mother and "uncles" Uruth and Zit. Her life changed forever when she witnessed her mother being killed by the famous adventurer Wilhelm. Transforming her sorrow into rage, trained hard everyday in order to one be able to avenge her mother's death. Inheriting her father's strength and her mother's ability to lead, Tira eventually became the new leader of her mother's gang. Now a deadly assassin, Tira's wanted posters are present all over the land of Alethrion.

* BigThinShortTrio: The thin to Uruth's big and Zit's short.
* TheDreaded: A feared assassin and thug who no one dares to challenge.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Learns this quickly when Alethrion Greed tries to possess her.
* HarmfulToMinors: Witnessed her mother being killed by Wilhelm when she was just a child.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Has this reaction when she fully realizes that she released a rampaging form of evil onto the world.
* RevengeBeforeReason: Saw a vision of what would happen if Alethrion's Greed were to be released onto the world, but wanted revenge against Wilhelm so badly that she freed it from the chest.
* TerribleTrio: With Uruth and Zit.
* YouKilledMyFather: Mother variant. Wilhelm killed her mother and, as thus, Tira has devoted her life to seeking revenge against him.

!!Uruth

Uruth originates from the proud dancing city of Bowey, a city located inside of a huge snail house moving slowly across the lands of Alethrion. Uruth was kicked out of Bowey when it was discovered that he been flirting with the other super-masculine dancers. Having nowhere else to go, he moved to Draloque, where he found a home with Zit and Mira.

* BigThinShortTrio: The tall to Zit's short and Mira's (later Tira's) thin.
* DanceBattler: He deals a couple of flashy kicks to Wilhelm.
* FreudianExcuse: Banished from his city due to his sexuality, and forced to work in a job he hated, Later, both he and Zit got fired from said job and were left to survive on the streets. Their lives only started to get better when Mira saved their lives and the three of them became a gang of thugs.
* FreudianTrio: The Id (the heart) to Zit's Superego (the brains) and Mira's Ego (the leader).
* GagPenis: His massive, jiggly bulge is more prominent than that of any other character. Good lord.
* Gayngst: He was exiled from his homeland due to his sexual preference. When he sees a young gay male couple in the streets, he gets a very sad look before going home to his lonely apartment, wishing that he had someone special.
%%* IOweYouMyLife
* MachoCamp: Both the most masculine of the Thug Trio, and also the most flamboyant.
* ManlyGay: Confirmed to be gay by WordofGod. Confirmed further in "Thug Life" where his apartment is plastered with erotic posters of men.
* TerribleTrio: With Mira (later Tira), and Zit.
* TraumaticHaircut: Gets his pompadour cut off by Wilhelm. He is so distraught by this that he is too distracted to keep himself from being kicked in the face.

!!Zit

Zit is a Rallock, a species of frog creatures who are immune to poison and skilled in magic. Zit was separated from the rest of his kind, after being taken by the river while he was still inside of an egg. He became an outcast living in the streets of Draloque, with only his magic and wits to rely on. It was not until he met Uruth and Mira that he found a place where be belonged. The three became a makeshift family and an awesome team. Unfortunately... nothing lasts forever.

* BigThinShortTrio: The short to Uruth's tall and Mira's (later Tira's) tall.
* FreudianExcuse: An outcast inside the city and was homeless for most of his life.
* FreudianTrio: The Superego (the brains) to Uruth's Id (the heart) and Mira's Ego (the leader).
* IOweYouMyLife: To Uruth (who was the first to give him a house to live in and became his friend) but also to Mira (who save both him and Uruth from being killed and gave them both a home).
* TerribleTrio: With Uruth and Mira (and later Tira).
* ToxicFriendInfluence: He was the one who convinced Uruth and Mira to mug adventurers.

!!Bruhn

A narcissistic hero with a heavily inflated opinion of himself. While his royal siblings fight over treasures, Bruhn prefers to take a tan in the delicious sun and date okay-ish girls. Destiny grants him a daughter and Alethrion's map.

* DisappearedDad: To Tira.
* TheFightingNarcissist: A warrior who loves himself far more than any treasure he may obtain.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Brühn has invested a lot of time in attaining and maintaining his impeccable and impressive physique to wow onlookers with feats of beauty and strength, but he's not all that good at fighting, so much so that he's easily bullied by people half his size. It's subverted with his reappearance in Daughter's Revenge, where he demonstrates the ability to cleave in half monsters that tower over him.
* Narcissist: Said to be one. His vain behaviour, and self-centred attitude make it easy to see why.
* ParentalAbandonment: Upon finding out that Mira was pregnant with his child, instead of choosing to settle down and raising their daughter with her, he chose to run off in the night in pursuit of further adventure.
* TookALevelInBadass: When Mira first met him, Bruhn's muscles were all for show and he was weak enough to be bullied by scrawnier people. When Tira meets him in Daughter's Revenge many years later, he's revealed to have become significantly more powerful and skilled in the in-between time, able to cleave giant monsters in half with a single stroke of his sword and show enough experience to mentor her.

!!Blenn

Blenn is a human-lizard hybrid and the illegitimate son of Vito, who he has inherited his hair, warm blood and access to magic (which he struggles to control) from. Blenn feels like he is does not belong in the lizard village of Emol. 228* HalfHumanHybrid: Half lizard person, half human.
* HeroicBastard: Vito's illegitimate son.

!!Jarna

One of the proudest of the lizard folk, trained like a soldier to protect her fellow lizards. Jarna knows her territory off by heart. She wishes to be strong and fearless, but finds it difficult to be so whenever she is afraid or out of her comfort zone. Blenn looks up to Jarna, and is perfectly happy with her simply not ignoring him. When their whole village is slaughtered and Blenn and Jarna are forced to travel out together, their roles changes, as Jarna finds herself unable to break out of her routines and old ways of living. She must learn how to adapt and accept loss and change, while still having fun in the process.

* InformedAttribute: Her bio states that her village was destroyed, which led to her beginning her travels with Blenn. The video, Outcast Journey, on the other hand, depicts the village still standing and Jarna ultimately joins Blenn (who left the village hoping to find his father) by her own choice.
* ScarilyCompetentTracker: Heroic variant as she was able to track Blenn all the way to the gorge.

* EnemyWithout: A dark reflection of Alethrion created from the Mirror of Truth.
* ExtendableArms: Can utilize and weaponize this trope to its advantage.
* HeroKiller: Kills both Alethrion and .
* MadeOfEvil: The product of Alethrion's greed and a corrupted essence of the gods.
* SealedEvilInACan: Thanks to Alethrion, it is now trapped inside the chest, though now it's just waiting for one seeking Alethrion's treasure to foolishly set it free.
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: The personification of Alethrion's greed.

!!Gaya

Four creatures who were created by one of the gods to capture and contain the dark presence that would become Alethrion's Greed in a Bottle of Holding. One of them ends up crossing paths with Amerath.

* BequeathedPower: Before dying, the Ruden traveling with Amerath bequeaths its power to her.
* KilledOffForReal: The Ruden traveling with Amerath is killed after his creator is struck down by Alethrion. It can be presumed that the same fate befell the other three Rudens.

!!Humun

A banished god, said to be responsible for creating human beings and setting the Creation Wars into motion.

%%* TheDreaded
* TheGhost: Has only been mentioned in supplementary material.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Responsible for creating humanity, which led to his fellow gods competing with each other on who could craft the most impressive creation, which in turn led to infighting, which in turn led to the creation of monsters, natural disasters, magical weapons and wide spread destruction. With that being said, this trope is debatable and Humun could be considered an UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Currently hasn't made a physical appearance in the series, and the only source of information about him comes from supplementary materials. He is also, inadvertently or not, responsible for setting the entire plot of the series in motion.

* LaserGuidedKarma: Suffer this via a jellyfish sting.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Looks like a cross between a dragon, a turtle and (as the name suggest) a moose.
* RapePillageAndBurn: If the state of Leitha's village is anything to go by, his forces are willing to commit a number of atrocities in order to gain treasure for their boss.
* WhiteMansBurden: Shows shade of this. WordOfGod confirms that creatures like him are worshipped and often seen as superior to others, and the main purpose of his plans for conquest of the lands of Alethrion is to ensure that Arist "law and order" be established throughout the land.

!!Leitha

A female sphinx. She is the last inhabitant of a city that was ravaged by Wyrmoose's guild.
