This is ''Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X''. And like all seasons of Survivor, spoilers are going to be unmarked.

%% Spelling notes: Gen-X and Ikabula are correct, not Gen X and Ika Bula. The season title, however, spells it Gen X with a space.
%% Oh, and while we're here: don't call Zeke a woman. Seriously, don't.

! The Tribes

[[folder: Ikabula]]
%%* BadassCrew
* EmeraldPower: They're in a green tribe, and have so far have proven they're very competent in challenges.
* TrueCompanions: The Ikabula tribe mates have all communicated very well in challenges and after they lose an immunity challenge, the first thing they did when they got back to camp was sit next to each doing nothing but lament their loss and not speak to each other for half an hour
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Takali]]
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: They are by far the most hardworking of the two tribes, but Vanua both got fire before them and beat them in the first Immunity Challenge.
** {{Hypocrite}}: But they took both of the easy options in the first immunity challenge, after deriding the Millennials for always being the slackers who want to take the easy way out.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Averted in both variations:
** Pre-swap, they lost three out of the five challenges present and three teammates to the Millenials' one.
** Post-swap, they only lost one immunity challenge, but they also lost both reward challenges.
* StrongButUnskilled: Takali excels at challenges that focus on the physical aspect, but they fall apart when it comes to puzzles.
%%* TookALevelInBadass: Post-swap.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Vanua]]
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: The tribe as a whole are generally goofy, but they also beat Gen-X to building a fire and are strong in challenges.
* TheSlacker: In the first episode, they were portrayed as this as the didn't get their shelter done and goofed off. They shaped up after the cyclone, however.
* TotalPartyKill: With David's elimination at the Final 4, the second version of Vanua got wiped out before the final Tribal Council.
* WeakButSkilled: Vanua might be physically weaker than Takali, but their forte lies with using their minds in puzzles.

! Sole Survivor

[[folder: Adam Scott Klein]]
[[quoteleft:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/s33_adam_klein.jpg]]

->'''Tribe:''' Vanua (Millennials) --> Takali
->'''Age:''' 25
->'''From:''' San Francisco, CA
->'''Occupation:''' Homeless shelter manager
----
* AscendedFanboy: He's a fan of Survivor, and frequents the Survivor subreddit. Taken up to eleven as he became what any Survivor fan dreams of -- becoming a Sole Survivor, winning in a CurbStompBattle to boot.
* AntiHero: A very light example, but he used more than a few underhanded plays to get to the end.
* TheAtoner: After his underhanded and fumbling play from the merge to episode 10, Adam has been trying to redeem himself and his game. By showing goodwill with Jay by giving him his Reward Steal, showing his loyalty by saving his alliance member with his own Hidden Immunity Idol, and showing willingness to make a big move against fellow alliance member and perceived leader David since Final 7, he was able to show his ability to fix his mistakes and enabled him to win-over the Survivor jury.
* BittersweetEnding: Adam's mother passed away two days after his season, and never got to see her son play. However, he was able to make it back in time to tell her he loved her and that he won, so at the very least she passed on with the knowledge her son won the game they both loved so much. She also made him several videos during the season so that he would be able to see her posthumously.
* BrutalHonesty: Will stated Adam has a tendency to do that to the point where everybody assumes he was telling the truth all the time even when he lies.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Over the entire course of episode 8, he pledged his loyalty to everybody he could, which caused every potential ally to not trust him. Subverted since episode 11, where he has found a solid alliance with Jessica, David, Ken and Hannah.
* DiggingYourselfDeeper: His "apology" to Taylor did nothing but piss him off even further.
* TheDogBitesBack: He spent most of his time on Vanua at the bottom. Come the swap, he flips against the two Millennials who had been voting against him.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: Oh boy, did he ever.
* {{Foil}}: To Jay. Both of them wanted to win the game for their mothers. However, while Jay is playing more of a villainous game, Adam is at least playing more of a heroic game. In addition, while Adam is a HeroWithBadPublicity, Jay happens to be a VillainWithGoodPublicity.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: He's a good kid, and he's playing for his dying mother, but circumstances and trusting the wrong people have made him become an untrustworthy figure in the eyes of the other players. Subverted since episode 12, as Jay saw Adam as actually a good person after Adam shared his Reward Steal to Jay, and especially during the finale, where all members of the Survivor jury voted for him to win Sole Survivor after deciding he played the best game among the three finalists.
* {{Irony}}: Of the [[PlayedForLaughs funny kind]] - his bio says he hates mustaches with a fiery passion, but his closest ally happens to have a mustache. At least until Episode 10, when they are on opposite sides of the game.
* JewishAndNerdy: Something he had in common with Hannah, which is another reason they bonded.
* LovedByAll: Everybody voted for him at Jury, even the ones who weren't sure they should vote for him. The guy who spent all season with a dying mother who left him at the end and was plunged into grief deserved the money hands-down. He carried the entire vote effortlessly. He became even more loved when he announced he was donated $100,000 of his winnings to cancer research in honor of his late mom.
* MommasBoy: He's playing Survivor for his mother, and wants to make it to the end to hand her the check. [[TearJerker Heart-breakingly]], his mother passed away from cancer before his season aired. One hour after he got home... she hung on long enough for him to say goodbye.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: After convincing David to play his idol on Ken, Adam is seen crying as Jessica is eliminated because he made the wrong call. However, the following episode Adam fixed that mistake and used his idol on Hannah which sent Zeke home.
* NoIndoorVoice: Though technically outside, he shouts out his confessionals rather than calmly talk.
* OnlySaneMan: Of the Millennials, him and Mari are the only ones who thinks it's a bad idea to party instead of finishing the shelter. He also steps between Zeke and Hannah when things were getting heated.
* RedemptionQuest: Adam has been trying to redeem himself for his untrustworthy and underhanded play style. First by refusing to play his advantage and steal the loved ones visit, which earned everyone's respect. Then he builds a bond with Jay by giving him his advantage, which fixes their turbulent relationship. Then he wins an immunity necklace, gaining him some physical credence. And finally, he plays his idol for Hannah to show true companionship, which while unneeded because Will flipped, showed he wasn't as much of a flip-flopper as he had been made out to be. All of these helped contribute to him becoming the SoleSurvivor.
* SoleSurvivor: The 32nd winner of the game.
* TearsOfJoy: After finding the Hidden Immunity Idol, which turned to TenderTears when [[TearJerker he talks about his mom]]. And again when he won and had a very emotional moment knowing it was all worth it even though she went to Heaven. And his dad and the whole rest of the family were in tears, too.
* TearsOfRemorse: In episode 10, after unwittingly getting Jessica eliminated.
* ThrowTheDogABone: In what is likely the most heartwrenching moment of the season, Adam loses the one competition he wanted to win most- the family reward. After watching Adam break down when he gets passed over twice to get to see his brother, desperate for news of his mother, Jeff himself can't stand to watch him suffer, and actually [[ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem makes an exception this one time]] and allows the winner, Jay, to pick one extra person than usual to get to see their family, and Jay naturally picks Adam.
* TooDumbToLive: Adam, why would you tell Taylor - the guy who's girlfriend you voted out - about your advantage? He narrowly averted this in episode 8, and people don't seem too upset by this revelation in 9. Again repeated during episode 11, where he fell for Sunday's decoy vote, telling David to play the idol on Ken when the target was on Hannah. At the finale, it was again repeated when he told he has an idol to Hannah, which made Hannah's decision to avoid his idol and target Bret to keep the alliance's numbers intact, easier.
* TrueCompanions: With Ken, David and Hannah - as shown in episode 10 and 11, where he tells David to play the idol for Ken, and then the next council plays it for Hannah. And later, Jay, after the two realize they both have mothers in worsening health and bond over it.
* UnderdogsNeverLose: From the bottom of his original tribe to the SoleSurvivor. What a comeback.
* UnscrupulousHero: He's a nice guy, and playing for good cause, but his playstyle is extremely underhanded. He grows out of this.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: At the last minute he convinces David to play his idol for Ken instead of Hannah. The votes land on Hannah and cause a tie, which leads to a rock draw, which leads to the elimination of Adam's ally. Had he not done anything, Zeke, the biggest threat in the game, would have been sent home. However, the following episode, Adam fixed that mistake and used his idol on Hannah, which sent Zeke home.
* WorthyOpponent: Adam became this for several other contestants during the season. Despite his underhanded style early on he worked to improve himself and win back everyone's trust. At the Final Tribal Council he is unanimously voted as the winner by all 10 members of the jury for his strategic plays and goals, even by members he had rivalries with like Taylor and Jay.

->'''Tribe:''' Vanua (Millennials) --> Ikabula
->'''Age:''' 24
->'''From:''' West Hollywood, California
->'''Occupation:''' Barista
----

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Felt like an outcast due to seeing the "beautiful people" get together. Mari quickly assured her this was not the case, and they formed a counter-alliance called "freaks and geeks".
* [[AscendedFanboy Ascended Fangirl]]: She is a super fan of Survivor and has been watching the show since she was 9.
* TheAtoner: States in episode three that she felt really bad for voting out Mari, and wants to get back with Adam and Zeke. She successfully votes out the instigator of Mari's blindside in episode 8.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With David.
* CassandraTruth: Predicted she was the one being targeted episode 10, but everyone assumed it was David or Ken. She was right, and that caused Jessica's elimination. Come episode 11, Adam believes her and plays an idol for her.
* GenkiGirl: She's fairly hyperactive and bubbly.
* HeroicBSOD: She had a panic attack after Michaela is voted out.
** Invoked on Episode 6 when she gets herself stressed on the reward challenge, and she wasn't even playing in it.
* HonorBeforeReason: She refused to go along with Adam's plan to blindside David because of her feelings with kinship for him, as well as his willingness to go to rocks for her, even though she knows that David is going to be incredibly difficult to defeat at the end.
* HopelessSuitor: Views herself as such, since she feels that outside the game she would never have a chance with someone like Ken.
* InWithTheInCrowd: Despite complaining to the others about TheBeautifulElite hooking up, Hannah ended up turning on her own alliance of "freaks and geeks" at Michelle's urging, which could read off as the nerdy friend abandoning her friends to join the cool kids. Though she quickly regrets her decision and goes back to her fellow nerds.
* JewishAndNerdy: Like Adam.
* LastOfHerKind: The only Millennial girl left. And then by the grand finale, the only girl left.
* LikesOlderMen: Admits that she has a crush on Ken in episode 10, who's at least nine years her senior.
* NoSocialSkills: She has a LOT of trouble recognizing social cues, such as when she refused to leave Zeke and Adam alone when they wanted her to.
* OnlySaneMan: In a twist of fate, it was ''HER'' who had to calm Adam down from making a panicked mistake in episode 8.
* ProperlyParanoid: Suspected she was the target twice in a row without any hard evidence to base it on. She was right both times.
* {{Revenge}}: After Michaela's blindside, Hannah pretends she's alright... but is secretly pissed and wants to avenge Michaela. She groups back up with Zeke, Adam, and the Gen-X tribe, and votes out Michelle in retaliation.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She's the only girl from the millennials left in the competition after Michelle's elimination. And the only girl entirely after Sunday's boot.
* TookALevelInBadass: Pre-merge, Hannah was panicky and went with the cool kids out of fear. After losing Michaela and being on the outs, come post-merge Hannah is pissed and aiming to take down Jay's posse, and manages to successfully oust Michelle.
* TrueCompanions: With Adam, Ken and David.
* UngratefulBitch: Voted out Mari, despite Mari having taken her under her wing and formed a "freaks and geeks" alliance with her.
** And again, she voted for Bret even though he was the one comforting her during her panic attack. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] in a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJyJcWtMAPA secret scene]], which shows Bret trying to throw Hannah under the bus in an attempt to save himself.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Michaela. Sure, Michaela yelled at Hannah during the challenge rather rudely, but at the end of the day she states it's only due to her competitiveness and that she loves Hannah. And Hannah is ''devastated'' by Michaela's elimination.

->'''Tribe:''' Takali (Generation X)
->'''Age:''' 33
->'''From:''' Denver, Colorado
->'''Occupation:''' Model
----

* TheAce: He's shaping up to be this - he's smart, kind, good-looking, self-sufficient and athletic. He was the one who directed the shelter-building and fishing to feed his tribe.
* ActionDad: Won immunity in episode 9, and has consistently been a good competitor.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: A handsome model, and probably the nicest and most empathetic castaway this season.
* TheCasanova: What he claims he used to be, until his daughter came into his life.
* CassandraTruth: Ken is always honest, yet almost nobody ever believes him until it's too late.
* ChekhovsGunman: After Adam saves Ken and Jessica by booting Figgy, Ken promises him that he will never, ever write his name down. More than 10 eliminations later at the Final 4, Ken sticks to his word and votes out David, who many saw as his closest ally.
* ChickMagnet: In-universe, Hannah's certainly attracted to him. And outside the show, he has many, many fan-girls (and [[EvenTheGuysWantHim boys]]).
* CoolDownHug: Gave one to Jessica when she broke down and cried.
* DeathGlare: At Jessica, after she asked him if she was supposed to believe him about the fact Lucy wanted her gone.
--> Ken: [[BluntYes Yes]].
* EmbarrassingFirstName: Reveals that his name actually got him made fun of - kids used to call him "Ken doll", as the millennials are currently nicknaming him.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: When David started bonding with him, he couldn't stop talking about how good-looking he was. And even Aras on an interview with Podcast/RobHasAPodcast said he couldn't stop staring at Ken's body.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Let a stick insect crawl all over his arm, and even went to show it off and help Dave conquer his outdoor fears.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: The result of his final vote. Either take the biggest threat to the end or go against his loyalty and make himself look bad to the jury
* GoodParents: He cleaned up his act for his four-year-old daughter, and wants to win the money to provide for her.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With David.
* TheHero: He's currently one of the only main players without a major flaw and has had a consistently positive tone to him.
** HeroicBuild: He's jacked and uses his strength to win four individual immunity challenges.
* HiddenDepths: ''Like you wouldn't believe.'' He completely subverts the expectation of being a one-dimensional BrainlessBeauty.
* HolierThanThou: He is seen as being very preachy and self-righteous by the other players.
* HumbleHero: Despite being the most athletic and good-looking man on his tribe, Ken's actually quite shy and sensitive. Cece even tells the millennials that Ken's the most humble person she's ever met.
* IdiotBall: Held it briefly during episode 11, see below at InnocentlyInsensitive.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: He wanted to test Will's authenticity in episode 11 because he wasn't certain if he could trust him or not, but ends up causing a storm and making him appear as a backstabber to Will. Luckily, Will still voted with them.
* MrFanservice: He's a model, and he's very good-looking.
* NiceGuy: He's surprisingly kind, nonjudgmental, and sympathetic toward Dave, recalling his own painful experiences with shyness, bullying, awkwardness, and a speech impediment growing up.
* OddFriendship: With David, for the above reasons.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Jess.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: An interesting variation with him and David. Physically, Ken is manlier than David... but personality wise, Ken is actually the sensitive guy who is humble, quiet and seems to relate easier to women, while David is the manly man who is eager to make big moves and wanted into get in with the big guys of the tribe at first.
* TallDarkAndHandsome
* TrueCompanions: Admitted this in episode 10 - that he would stay with David and Jess until the end. Became this with Adam and Hannah as well.
* UndyingLoyalty: To David, so much so that regardless of the fact that David's a threat he still wants them to go to the end together. Subverted in the finale, when he votes him out in order to have a better shot at winning.
* WorthyOpponent: Was the only one to deem the Millennials as this.
* WrongGenreSavvy: The best way to describe Ken's playing style is that he's an old-school player trying to play in a new-school season. He votes with his heart, aligns with people he sees as genuine, and cares about the survival aspects more than the strategic aspects of the game. Justified, in that Zeke explains in a post-show interview that he's pretty much the only one on this season who's not a super-fan of Survivor.

->'''Occupation:''' Television Writer
----

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Feels left out due to his lack of strength and neuroticism.
* BigDamnHeroes: In episode 4, saving Jessica from a blindside.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Hannah, being geeky, neurotic super-fans of Survivor.
* BittersweetEnding: David might have lost the game just one tribal council away, but in the end, he grew as a person and considers that a personal win.
* CharacterDevelopment: He's introduced as something of a LovableCoward, constantly paranoid and afraid of everything. As the game went on, he became more comfortable in his own skin after befriending Ken, Cece, and Jessica. He has since grown into a powerful strategic threat, capable of making big moves, and has relaxed so much and has developed people skills so well that he became friends with his former enemy, Chris.
* ClassicalAntiHero: Has all the makings, what with his fear of the outdoors, multiple neuroses, and uncertainty in his own abilities. Time will tell if he grows out of it.
** And boy did he! He went from a paranoid wreck on episode 1, to a friendly, easygoing guy who has managed to be a strategic powerhouse AND make good relationships with the other players.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
* FinalBoss: He's Adam's last obstacle before getting to the end.
* FireForgedFriends: With Chris, his former enemy on the Gen-X tribe.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Little, neurotic, underdog David who would have been second boot transformed into a strategic, social badass who everyone is terrified of going to the end with. Even Ken, the man he had a final 3 deal with, ended up voting him out at final four because he was afraid of how good David was.
%%* GuileHero
%%* HeroAntagonist: To Adam.
%%* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Ken.
* InformedAbility: He claims to be an expert at puzzles, but has repeatedly lost on every puzzle challenge.
* LetsGetDangerous: With Cece and Ken. Because since they're on the bottom with a chance they'll be booted next, they have nothing to lose.
* TheLoad: Oh, goodness... David does ''not'' do well at physical challenges. One of them he blundered so badly he caused Zeke to ask, "Is he throwing this?"
* MagneticHero: What he eventually became after the disastrous first episode. He's now practically friends with everyone, and even when he wasn't they made nice comments talking about how funny and charming he was.
* NonActionGuy --> ActionSurvivor: While he's still not very athletic, he did win his first individual immunity in episode 10.
%%* OddFriendship: With Ken.
* OhCrap: When Jeff calls on him during tribal council.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: An interesting variation with him and Ken. Physically, Ken is manlier than David... but personality wise, Ken is actually the sensitive guy who is humble, quiet and seems to relate easier to women, while David is the manly man who is eager to make big moves and wanted into get in with the big guys of the tribe at first.
* TookALevelInBadass: Despite a weak first episode, he grew substantially in the second episode; starting a fire for the tribe, finding an idol, and managed to band together with the outsiders.
* TrueCompanions: With Ken, Hannah, Adam and Jessica.
[[/folder]]

->'''Age:''' 42
->'''From:''' Dedham, Mass
->'''Occupation:''' Police Sergeant
----
* TheAlcoholic: At the final twelve reward, he told the host to deliver him drinks until he passes out. And after he got eliminated at the immunity within that same episode, he stated that he should of sat out once he saw Zeke drinking some beer. This continued on in episode 10.
* AscendedFanboy: Bret is a super fan of Survivor and has watched the show since season 2.
* BadLiar: He told everyone he was a funeral director to hide that he is a cop. Everyone saw through it. As it turns out, [[http://parade.com/503640/joshwigler/survivor-millennials-vs-gen-x-bret-labelle/ he actually works at a funeral home.]]
* BigFun: Got drunk on a reward challenge, and was making jokes and being generally playful.
* DumbMuscle: Jay points out that while Bret is strong, he's not particularly bright, as seen when he struggles to understand Jay's ideas on how to build the shelter.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Chris. Minus the [[ManlyGay heterosexual]] part.
* TheLancer: He's Chris' right-hand and most loyal ally.
* TheLeader: Co-leads the Gen-X tribe with Chris.
** Subverted as of episode 4, both he and Chris are at the bottom.
* ManlyGay: He is a police sergeant but he comes out on the show.
* OddFriendship: With Sunday. See her entry as to why.
* SoreLoser: He called out his fellow castaways for leaving David in the game instead of wishing them well in the Final Four. He congratulated David for winning and told the rest of the castaways "they lost a million bucks." Even his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy2iWFq5Hbo Ponderosa video]] shows him being bitter before arriving there. Luckily, for him they took Bret's advice and took out David the following tribal council.
* StoutStrength: He's noticeable thicker than most of his tribe mates, but just as strong as the muscular Chris.
* StraightGay: He is not flamboyant but he did come out on national television
* SurroundedByIdiots: Believes so when they got rid of Sunday before David.
* TeamDad: Of Ikabula. Michaela refers to him as "Uncle Bret".
* TookALevelInJerkass: Displayed in episode 10, when he snapped at Hannah and grew annoyed with her term ''Cluster Trust'', and mocked David with Zeke.

->'''Age:''' 27
->'''From:''' Fort Lauderdale, Florida
->'''Occupation:''' Real Estate Agent
----

* AntiVillain-->AntiHero: All he wants to do is win the money to provide for his family. But he's willing to do anything and cut anyone's throat, even a loyal ally. All with a smug smile, too. He later gets better and becomes much nicer, especially towards Adam when he hears about what's going on in his home life.
* BackstabBackfire: His betrayal of Michaela divided the Millennials in half, which caused Michelle to get voted out.
* BigBadWannabe: He gave it a good try, but he lost all of his allies right out of the gate at the merge, leaving him on the bottom and surviving the vote only on the whims of other players who all have bigger fish to fry.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Taylor.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He quickly proved he was more than just a pretty face in episode 2, when he and Michelle ended up gaining the votes of Michaela, Will and Hannah and voted out Mari.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Watch his reaction to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5dLGb24XA8 Michelle's blindside]]. He's clearly shocked she got voted off.
* DoomMagnet: Every alliance Jay joins gets blindsided and knocked to the bottom. Jay even lampshades it.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: The entire reason for his aggressive playstyle is because he wants to provide for his mother.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even Jay was seen looking upset at Jessica's elimination in episode 10. And he started crying when Adam admitted his mother was dying, but by then he wasn't really "evil."
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Zeke certainly was descriptive in his [[{{Tsundere}} disdain]] for Jay, talking about his deep brown eyes and surfer smile in an almost reluctantly attracted way.
* EvilCounterpart: To Adam as both are playing for their mothers.
* {{Foil}}: To Adam. See Adam's entry.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: His statement of "No couple ever lasts on Survivor!" may of hinted of Figgy's pre-merge exit.
* FriendlyEnemy: With Adam and Hannah.
* GracefulLoser: Took his elimination very well and wished everyone luck, thanking them for a fun time.
* HeelFaceTurn: After being thoroughly humiliated in the beginning of the merge, Jay became significantly nicer and more helpful around camp. He reconciled with his former enemies Zeke, Hannah, and Adam, and is largely seen as a very likable and friendly guy.
* HiddenDepths: One of the reasons he's one the show is to buy a house for his mother.
* HumiliationConga: Day 36 wasn't kind to him. He lost his lead in the immunity challenge when he forgot to cover his correct combination, allowing David to read his answer and win immunity. Then, he plays an idol he found earlier that day, only to find out it was a fake created by David, and his vote against Ken was negated thanks to the Legacy Advantage, all while getting voted off by everyone.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Agrees with Will that Adam is a rat for turning on the millennials... even though he did the very same thing. He also calls Adam a jerk when Adam tells him he's on the bottom, despite the fact Jay wanted Adam gone and their roles were previously reversed.
* {{Jerkass}}: A lesser degree than Taylor, but the cruel expression he gave Michaela - who's absolutely devastated by his betrayal - after she turns to him cements him as one. Then he tries to implicate Adam for Taylor's theft even though he was the one who helped eat the food.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Though episode 10 showed he was legitimately upset by Jessica's elimination, and 11 showed a softer side of him when he took his nemesis Adam on the loved one's visit.
* TheLeader: Of the Triforce, and briefly of Ikabula.
* GeniusBruiser: He's strong in challenges, and surprisingly resourceful and cunning.
* LastOfHisKind: He's the last minority in the game.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Eliminating Michaela pushed Hannah to the Gen-X tribe, which gave them the numerical advantage and voted out his close ally Michelle. Him, Taylor and Will are now on the outs.
* PetTheDog: Despite past antagonism with Adam, Jay invited him to the loved one's visit in episode 11 because Adam refused to steal the reward. They've seemed to have patched things up, with Jay receiving Adam's advantage as thanks. And then they bonded over their mother's in episode 12.
* TheReliableOne: He's the only member of the Triforce to be consistently working for the group's betterment.
* ShoutOut: Whether this was intentional or not remains to be seen, but his alliance the "Triforce" is an obvious one to The Legend of Zelda.
* SmugSmiler: Gave Michaela an absolutely terrifying one as he voted her out.
* SmugSnake
* TeamKiller: He had a solid ally in Michaela, who was strong and loyal, but he decided she would be a threat post-merge and voted her out in the most shocking blindside of the season.
* TemptingFate: Proclaimed himself the "Kingpin"... and then his ally gets voted out. And now he's on the bottom.
* TenderTears: Shed some when Adam admitted his mother has stage four cancer, which reminded Jay of his mother and made any antagonist feelings towards Adam disappear.
* TokenMinority: Of the merge. Jay is Mexican-Peruvian.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: In contrast with Adam's HeroWithBadPublicity, Jay is seen as charming, funny, likable, and a great player who people willingly want to save and work with - despite having cruelly betrayed his closest ally and knowingly eaten stolen food.
* WhamLine: "What if I vote out Michaela?"
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: He obviously hasn't caused destruction on a cosmic level, but he is playing the way he is to ensure his mom gets a new house. Basically a {{Foil}} to Adam.
* WorthyOpponent: He had a rivalry with Adam for most of the game, but after Adam shared that his mother was sick with him Jay saw him as this and wanted to take him to the end with him, even calling him his bro. After his elimination he asked why Adam didn't trust him to take him to the end. Jay accepted his answer and still voted for Adam to win.

* AllLovingHeroine: Though she hasn't been in focus too much, the times she has been have shown her to be a very caring and affectionate person. And when others speak of her, they make her out to be a nice, loyal and warm person. And even though she was on the opposite side of David and Hannah, she vocally disapproved of Bret and Zeke's bullying towards them in episode 10.
* BatmanGambit: Sunday pulled off an ''amazing'' and incredibly ''risky'' gambit in episode 10; by knowing that Hannah, David and Adam were very overly paranoid players, she simply told Hannah and Adam they (Bret, Will, Jay, Zeke and herself) were voting for Ken. And when Adam ratted it out to David as he played the idol, he gave it to Ken, the wrong target - which enabled the tie and gave people a choice - either switch your vote on Hannah or draw a rock. The latter happened, and got out her rival Jessica. Not bad for an otherwise under-the-radar player.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Sunday is sweet, but if you don't have her back a hundred percent, she isn't afraid to cut you loose. She even went out of her way to attempt to vote out Jessica though nobody else was on board for that.
* BreakTheCutie: An older example, but Sunday's a very sweet and friendly person. And when she realized she might have to break her promise of never voting out Bret, she started tearing up during the confessional.
%%* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Look up at BatmanGambit.
* DoUntoOthersBeforeTheyDoUntoUs: Her reasoning for going after Jess. She had initially voted her in episode 4, and now Sunday fears Jess will come after her for it and wants to get her out first. She got her wish.
* GracefulLoser: Didn't show any ill will and wished everybody good luck after her elimination.

* InspirationallyDisadvantaged: Sunday is a cancer survivor.
* MinnesotaNice: For the most part, she seems to be this.

* OddFriendship: Sunday, a religious youth pastor, and Bret, a gay cop. He's her closest ally.
* OutOfFocus Though she did get more screen time in Episode 9
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She's the only girl from the Gen-X tribe left in the competition after Jessica's elimination.
* TheSocialExpert: As she explains in this [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NtEP7J1ol0 secret scene]], Sunday's greatest strength is forming bonds with others. This has been shown consistently before despite the lack of spotlight.
** It becomes the reason why Hannah decided to get rid of her before David. She had so many friends on the jury, it would have had her won in a landslide.
* TeamMom: On Ikabula, as Michaela fondly calls her "Mama Sunday".

* TheBabyOfTheBunch: He's the youngest player in the history of Survivor, and the first player to play while still in high school.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: He wanted to be taken seriously as a player in the game. The others took him seriously alright... and eliminated him in episode 12 for being a threat.
* TheDragon-->TheStarscream: He was essentially Jay's second vote, but he turns on Jay by not only voting against him but revealing in the next episode that Jay had an idol. And then he turned on Zeke.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: The lack of respect and desire to make his own move made Will flip and vote out Zeke, tired of being seen as just the kid in the group.
* GracefulLoser: Didn't have any ill feelings towards his tribe after being voted out, and admits he did make Survivor history by being the youngest who has every played the game.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Calls Adam a rat for trying to vote him out, when he had voted out his loyal ally Michaela last episode. And then come episode 10, he rats out Jay's idol to Zeke. And then voted out Zeke.
* IFightForTheStrongestSide: He's with whoever has the numbers.
** It's actually the reason he was voted out. His plan was to keep switching with alliances that would benefit him the most, making him dangerous to everyone.
* {{Keet}}: He's very hyper and excitable.
* OnlySaneMan: Repeatedly played devil's advocate or pointed out why the cool kids schemes weren't great in the long run. Since nobody really listens, he just goes along with their plans anyways.
* OutOfFocus: Until episode 7.
* RunningGag: With Jeff, in that every time alcohol is mentioned, Jeff will quickly mention soft drinks while Will pouts.
* TagAlongKid: How the others view him, deeming Taylor and Jay more of a threat. Deconstructed, as the frustration of being seen as a kid instead of a player forces Will to flip on his allies just to make a move and be seen as a threat.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Despite having been formerly aligned with Jay and Taylor, Will isn't exactly a bad or vindictive kid.
* VocalDissonance: His voice is not something you'd expect from an 18-year-old.

----

* BadassBookworm: Zeke is a smart, cunning fellow who successfully managed to deal a blow to the Cool Kids power with his Nerd Bloc and Gen-X friends when the merge hit.
* CampGay: Switches between that and StraightGay constantly.
* DidYouThinkICantFeel: Zeke's FatalFlaw. Though he played a good game, Zeke seemed unable to see his allies as people with feelings, repeatedly calling them his soldiers, numbers or pawns. He was quick to turn on Chris and David despite having bonded with them. He disregards Will's fears and trust by telling everyone about Jay's idol. And it's the reason Hannah and Adam, his allies from the ''very beginning'', turn on him to join David, Jessica and Ken, who have been emotionally bonding with them. Hannah even calls him condescending, and Adam was even willing to go to ''rocks'' just to get him out. And it was the reason why Will turned on him in episode 11.
* DrunkWithPower: Displayed downplayed signs of this a few times whenever he believed he was in power - like dismissing Michaela as an easy vote during episode 2, calling the Gen-X foolish in episode 6, insulting Adam's gameplay and debating whether or not he was worth keeping despite them supposedly being friends in episode 8 and 9 - but it's played absolutely straight in episode 10, where he openly belittles people because he has the numbers and acts like TheChessmaster.
* FallenHero: He was initially a cunning GuileHero leading the other players against the villainous Triforce on the Millennials... and then he found himself in a position of power and betrayed his allies. This led to his own elimination.
* HawaiianShirtedTourist: Subverted. He has the look, but not the attitude.
* HiddenDepths: Would you believe the guy in that picture is a huge fan of Football?
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Chris, of all people. And eventually with David.
* ItHasBeenAnHonor: After being blindsided by Will and eliminated as a result, he tells the final eight "its been an honor to play with you all" before getting his torch snuffed.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Zeke will re-align with anyone or eagerly cut their throat as long as he gets his way. He'll do whatever it takes to be the one in control.
* KickTheDog: Towards David in episode 10, mocking his anxiety and neuroticism. It's especially uncomfortable considering they used to be friends.
* TheLeader: Calls himself this after starting a fire for the Millennials. However, after being blindsided at the Mari vote, he is now on the bottom of the tribe with Adam.
** He is now the leader of his own "Nerd Voting Bloc," consisting of himself, Hannah, and Adam.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Zeke doesn't really consider himself a Millennial, and even outright refers to his other tribemates as "children" in his bio.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Displayed in episode 10, when he mocked David's anxiety and asked if he was gonna cry.
* {{Tsundere}}: Displayed a bit of this towards Jay in episode 8.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Towards Hannah, Adam and David.

* ActionMom: She's been consistently good at challenges and nearly won the first individual immunity.
* {{Bookends}}: She was saved by David's idol play, and was eliminated because of David's idol play.
* BrainyBrunette
* BrokenTears: When she drew the black rock and left the council.
* DiabolusExMachina: Like [[Characters/SurvivorMarquesas Paschal]] and [[Characters/SurvivorBloodVsWater Katie]] before her, Jessica drew the rock that sent evicted her from the game. It's especially jarring, [[PyrrhicVictory since she had just survived the vote and was off the radar]].
* EasilyForgiven: By Ken for betraying his trust. To be fair, she did break down and cry and also showed him her legacy advantage to make up for it.
* EyeScream: Got sand blown into her eyes on the day everyone evacuated, causing it to get infected and reddened.
* MortonsFork: Because of the tie in episode 10, Jessica was presented with two risky choices - go to rocks and potentially be the one eliminated, or betray your allies to avoid going to rocks and losing their trust. She chose the former... and drew the rock.
* OhCrap: When she saw that her alliance had tried to blindside her.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Ken.
* PyrrhicVictory: Managed to vote out her rival Chris... but Jessica was immediately eliminated the next tribal council.
* SoreLoser: She [[https://twitter.com/jessicalewis89/status/801620335774855168 attempted to sell]] her infamous black rock that sent her home on Craiglist for one million dollars. Though it's probably in good jest.
* TooDumbToLive: Narrowly averted, thanks to David's idol play. Jessica was nearly blindsided by the very people she was warned about by Ken because she couldn't believe her alliance would vote her out - despite having blindsided Paul, who was in her alliance.
* UndyingLoyalty: She could have flipped to save herself from pulling rocks... but she didn't, because she didn't want to betray David or Ken.
* YankTheDogsChain: She succeeded in dodging the vote and eliminating her biggest nemesis. Two days later she fell victim to random elimination via rock draw.

* FieryRedhead: He has his moments, like in episode 4 after Paul got blindsided, he wanted to dump the rice into the ocean out of anger. And in episode five, where he threatens to strangle David on national TV if he flips on him again.
* FireForgedFriends: He became friends with his enemy on Gen-X, David, which is why both Gen-X camps stayed loyal to each other at the merge.
* GracefulLoser: Took his elimination well, and wished everyone good luck.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Bret.
* {{Hypocrite}}[=/=]MoralMyopia: He's angry that David and Cece ''"betrayed"'' him... even though they weren't in his alliance, on the bottom, and he wanted to vote them out previously.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Zeke of all people.
* TheLeader: Co-leads the Gen-X tribe with Bret.
** Subverted by episode 4, when he is knocked to the bottom of the tribe.
** And then he regained his position of leadership at the head of the Gen-X alliance.
* RevengeBeforeReason: Him and Bret could've got back into the majority had he not been so gung-ho on voting out Jessica. But in following Lucy's plan, he lost his chance to get back into the majority. At least until the swap comes. Subverted after the merge, where he and Jessica are back on good terms. Double Subverted when he tried to vote her out episode 10, which caused his own elimination.
* TookALevelInKindness: Being swapped to Vanua caused him to chill out considerably, as shown when he and David wind up becoming unlikely allies. Continued when he reaches the merge, and seemingly puts his past antagonism with Jessica behind them to unite the Gen-Xers.

* AdultChild: He's extremely immature. His immaturity eventually gets him evicted.
* AllForNothing: In hindsight, his attempts to avenge Figgy are this as they're no longer dating and don't even like each other.
* BadLiar: He attempts to hide his showmance with Figgy from Ken and Jessica. However, once Figgy attempts to tell Ken and Jessica, it came across as an InUniverse CaptainObviousReveal. He also attempts to implicate Adam in his food theft, but it seems rather obvious that Taylor is just getting desperate.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Initially came across as a friendly, but dopey and fun guy. However, following Figgy's blindside, he has been showing a selfishness and ego that show him to be a grade-A {{Jerkass}}.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Jay.
* ButtMonkey: He's had a consistently poor edit, with many people seeing him as stupid and air-headed. Even when he's on the jury, they show moments like him getting a bug on his shirt and freaking out.
* TheDragon: To Jay's BigBad along with [[CoDragons Will]].
* FalseFriend: To Adam.
* TheFool: He's extremely cheerful, but not particularly bright. Despite all that, he is a dominant force in challenges, and is a member of the Majority Alliance on his tribe.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He wanted Adam gone even though the Millennials needed to pull their numbers together, and he stole food, with the excuse that he was hungry... even though he was on an island with 13 other people who were hungry.
* {{Jerkass}}: When you steal food on Survivor, you really can't be anything else.
* [[KarmicDeath Karmic Elimination]]: He was voted out right after he admitted to eating the entire food he hide from everybody else.
* LoveMakesYouDumb: He openly advertises his attraction and showmance with Figgy, even though power couples are often targeted.
* MrFanservice
* PetTheDog: Despite the animosity between him and Adam, Taylor voted for Adam to win the game, most likely out of sympathy for his home life.
* PluckyComicRelief: An absolute goofball who absolutely revels in his silliness.
* ThisIsReality: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] by Jessica, who tells Taylor that coming clean about the food theft wouldn't give him a pat on the back. Considering they're starving on an island with very little food as it is, Jessica is right.
* RevengeBeforeReason: He swears revenge on Adam for blindsiding Figgy, even though it's tearing apart the millennials and sent an ally home. It eventually got him eliminated.
* ShipTease: With Figgy.
* TooDumbToLive: Stealing a bit food and getting caught is bad enough. Admitting to stealing '''THREE JARS''' of it to a bunch of starving people is social suicide. And he paid for it with his elimination.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Pre-swap, Taylor was just a ditz who seemed harmless and fun, if a bit thoughtless at times. After post-swap when he loses Figgy, come the merge and not only is he tearing apart the millennials by trying to get revenge on Adam, but he's also stealing food from 12 other hungry people with little regard for their feelings and displaying a more malicious side by pretending to be Adam's friend just so it'll hurt him more when he gets blindsided.
* TranquilFury: During Figgy's blindside.

* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Her believing in dragons makes her one
* [[DeathByIrony Elimination By Irony]]: Despite preaching trust and loyalty, Zeke never trusted her and voted her out. And her allies never thought that she could be in trouble, focusing more on themselves and each other.

* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: She's in an alliance with Jay, Taylor and Figgy...but they're the core group who refer to themselves as the "Triforce". Meaning she's on the outs. Continued even after Figgy was voted out, and Will took her place. The guys never even thought she could be in danger.

--> '''Bret''': There's nothing you can't do!
* ActionGirl: Has repeatedly shown she's the most physically and mentally competent woman on her tribe.
* TheBigGirl: Michaela is quite possibly the strongest person on the Millennial's tribe. The fact she managed to take down Lucy (as well as the other Gen-X women) and nearly won the physical reward challenge in episode 4 attested to that.
* BigWhat: In response to getting voted out.
* BreakoutCharacter: Despite being a pre-merge boot, Michaela proved to be popular enough to return for ''Survivor: Game Changers'', as announced at the reunion show. She also competed on Season 37 of TheChallenge, but sadly was eliminated first.
* DeathGlare: Gives a particularly chilling one to Jay when Jeff snuffs her torch.
* DecoyProtagonist: Was a huge threat in terms of challenge and strategy and she got eliminated right before the merge.
* DefeatByModesty: Averted. Michaela kept going even when she lost her top.
* EnemyMine: With Figgy in the Mari vote.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: Her laying out a plan to have her, Hannah, Jay, and Will make it to the final four together lead Jay to believe that she is too dangerous to keep around and he went on to blindslide her from the game. She even went on to state in exit interviews that she has said some things while explaining the final four plan back there that she probably shouldn't have said at the time.
* {{Irony}}: She told the Millennials on Takali that if they couldn't figure out how to work together and hold their majority, they deserved to go home. Guess what happened the next episode?
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Michaela is loud, abrasive, and outspoken to a fault, but she is still loyal, honorable, and playing the game in order to help her family.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: She stated that she helped out Vanua tribe in the sixth immunity challenge in hopes that a Gen-X person would get voted out. Turns out a Millennial got voted out instead. {{Subverted}} in the next episode when it was revealed that getting rid of that said millennial was her intention.
* SassyBlackWoman
* SheKnowsTooMuch: Will stated that after she found out that Jay has an idol, he needed to get rid of her ASAP.
* SilentSnarker: When the Gen-X tribe was deeming the Millennials as lazy and weak, it always cut to Michaela's annoyed facial reactions.
* SoreLoser: Cursing at her ally for betraying her, and punching a tree branch on the way out? Yep.
* TearsOfJoy: Things were rough for Michaela after getting on a new tribe and having to start from scratch, but after she gets a fire started, things started looking up and she cried tears of relief and happiness. Then proceeded to win the next immunity challenge.

* [[KarmicDeath Karmic Elimination]]: She did not get along with Michaela on the island so when Michaela realizes that Figgy at a tribe where she is at the bottom, Michaela ended up helping out the Vanua in the sixth immunity challenge just so that the others can vote her out. She also toyed with Taylor's affections, so that adds to the payback.
* ManipulativeBitch: Especially when you find out in post-show interviews that she never loved Taylor and was using him the entire time.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Her real name is Jessica, but [[OneSteveLimit there's another Jessica competing in this season]]. Because she goes by "Figgy", it prevents confusion.
* ShipTease: With Taylor, who calls her the hottest girl and claims to have the "love goggles" on.
* SpicyLatina: She's half-Puerto Rican, and claims to be very feisty and spicy.
* SmugSnake: Oh, so very much.

* BlackDudeDiesFirst: Or, in the new Vanua tribe's case, the Black Woman Gets Voted Out First.
* ButtMonkey: She's gotten votes at every tribal council she's been to. Then she was unanimously voted out at her last one.
* TheCynic: Not that anyone can blame her, due to the fact she was on the bottom, lost an ally, and was nearly voted out ''twice''. Things seem to be turning around for her in episode three, though.
* GracefulLoser: Despite being shocked at her blindside, she did wish the rest of her tribe good luck before leaving.
* TheLoad: [[ZigZaggingTrope Zigzagged]] in that she's helpful at some challenges (like the ring toss in episode 2), but terrible at others (the balance beam in episode 3). One will definitely remember Jeff shouting "Cece... is taking FOREVER!"
* NiceGirl: Cece is very friendly and sweet, getting along with everyone rather well. Will in a secret scene even says he adores Cece when he meets her at the Summit, and Paul in an interview said that the only thing Cece did wrong was align herself with Rachel.
* ThoseTwoGirls: With Rachel, though it was short-lived.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: Forming this with David and Ken, since they're on the outs.
* UnluckilyLucky: Despite being at the bottom and repeatedly threatened with elimination every tribal council, Cece is just lucky enough to have survived every pre-swap tribal.
** NotMyLuckyDay: But the swap ultimately killed what little luck she had.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: Don't have her back? She won't have yours.
* BoomerangBigot: She has a low opinion of women, despite being a woman herself. She also stated in a pre-game interview she wanted to vote out the other Asians and [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor be the last Asian standing]].
* FemaleMisogynist: As noted above.
* {{Jerkass}}: Towards Ken.
* OutOfFocus: Until episode 4.
* TigerMom: She calls herself this.
* TooDumbToLive: Telling Ken and David to just vote for Jessica and don't talk to anybody else made them feel that they are at the bottom of their tribe again causing David to play his idol on Jessica making Lucy be voted out instead

* GentleGiant: He's a large, intimidating-looking man, but introduces himself as a "teddy-bear" in his meet the castaways video.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Telling the women - who are half of his alliance - that he would stick with the men if it came to that. So those very women voted him out.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Despite being the leader and claiming he contributed much to the camp - like fishing - he failed to uphold those promises.
* TheLeader: Of his alliance, which Ken, Cece and David dubbed "Paul's Posse".
* TooDumbToLive: Telling the girls to their faces that if the men did want to stick together, he'd tell them "good luck girls, you're on your own". This got him ousted.

* CoolBigSis: To the Tribe as a whole, but especially to Hannah who was feeling insecure.
* GamerChick: Her profession.
* OnlySaneWoman: Of the Millennials, her and Adam are the only ones who thinks it's a bad idea to party instead of finishing the shelter.
* SoreLoser: Downplayed, but as Jeff snuffs her torch, she mutters "Salty" in a [[TranquilFury slightly angry tone]].
* TeamMom: She even jokingly calls herself the "mama" of her tribe.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Being a zig-zagged trope most Survivor fans would not remember her well being the second person voted out of the game. However, she is seen on Smosh Games and easily the most famous castaway of this season.
