1	The Polar Lands encompass the north of Koldenwelt's eastern continent. A vast expanse of land, primarily composed of woodland, taiga and tundra at the northmost parts, it is one of the oldest regions of the world in terms of civilization, though in the modern age, no great power claims this region as its own. The Saphronian Hetmanate, one of the provinces of the [[TheEmpire Empire of Man]], is situated there, as are the lands of the elusive [[OurElvesAreDifferent Néva]]. Through the great mountain ranges of the west lie the Arakai Mountains, home of the [[BigCreepyCrawlies Arakai]], while at the central peaks lies Castle Nightshade, the homeland of all [[OurVampiresAreDifferent pureblood vampires]]. At the northeast, the [[TheUndead Endless Host]] have settled in the region known as the Serenity Woods, while hidden away from civilized eyes, the [[ReligionOfEvil Cult of the Eclipse]] makes its base at a great crystalline cave complex.
