-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DavidCarradine

A sacred warrior of the Ling Dynasty. He led the uprising against Shendu nine centuries earlier, turning the demon into a statue and taking away his powers in the form of the twelve Talismans. He's been long dead, but one episode features a terracotta statue of him. When the [[AnimateInanimateObject Rat Talisman]] is used on it, it [[LivingStatue comes to life]] with the original Lo Pei's personality and powers. He's turned back to normal at the end of the episode.
----
* AscendedExtra: He first briefly appears in "Project A, for Astral" during the flashback in which he casts a spell to turn Shendu to stone. One of the second season's filler episodes gives him a name and a personality through the interactions his LivingStatue has with the modern world.
* CallingYourAttacks: When he performs scroll magic, he shouts the scroll's title.
* CassandraTruth: Lo Pei's copy refuses to believe he's a statue until he sees a poster depicting him in his statue form.
* CatchPhrase: He makes some nature-inspired analogies to describe or muse upon something. They are all initiated by the analogy. A couple of examples:
--> "As the lily pad offers respite to the weary bullfrog, so your service to our cause is much appreciated."\
"As the crescent moon is dutybound to follow the sunset, so shall I ''smite'' this Dark Hand."
* FishOutOfWater: A Ling dynasty warrior in modern times? You figure.
* GoodIsNotNice: While he is dedicated to keeping the Talismans out of evil hands, he has no qualms about causing collateral damage or non-lethally disposing of people who seem to threaten him.
* GoodLuckGesture: Jade teaches him the thumbs-up gesture as a sign of friendship. [[spoiler:After he's turned back into a lifeless terracotta, his right hand is left in this gesture.]]
* GreaterScopeParagon: He's the one who turned Shendu into a statue and scattered his Talismans to the four corners of the Earth. [[spoiler:The same spell he used to accomplish that is reused on Shendu in the conclusion of the third season's Noble Animals arc.]]
* {{Irony}}: Valmont [[LampshadeHanging comments]] on the irony of the fact that a mundane statue of the man who turned Shendu into a sentient statue has come to life.
* KungFuWizard: Not only he's a powerful wizard, but he's also skilled enough with martial arts to easily take down Jackie and Tohru.
* LightningBruiser: He moves fast enough to give Jackie trouble, strikes hard enough to knock Tohru on his back, and survives being crushed under a taxi.
%%* LongDeadBadass:
* MadeOfIron: When Tohru squashes him under a taxi, he survives uninjured, much to his own surprise. Jade suggests this is because he's a LivingStatue.
* OccultBlueEyes: He has dark blue eyes, which is an unusual trait for an Asian, and could be connected to his magic.
* PaperTalisman: His magic is performed through scrolls. The ones he's shown using can be used to [[PowerFloats levitate]], [[TheParalyzer petrify opponents]] and [[KiManipulation energy blasting]].
* PosthumousCharacter: The real Lo Pei has been dead for centuries, but the living terracotta has his personality. [[spoiler:Neither is his spell lost forever to be used to turn Shendu into a statue and trap his powers in the twelve Talismans again.]]
* PrecursorHero: Before all the business with Section 13 and the Chan Clan, there was this guy overthrowing Shendu.
* PunnyName: When [[PungeonMaster Finn]] first hears Lo Pei's name, he cracks a joke of it sounding like "low pay".
* WarriorPoet: He constantly utters nature-inspired analogies to poetically and abstractly describe or muse upon his situations.
-->'''Lo Pei''': As the dandelion scatters its seeds to the four winds, so did I scatter the Talismans to the four corners of the earth.
* WizardBeard: He's a powerful chi wizard, and he sports a stylish beard.
* WouldntHurtAChild: The Enforcers manage to briefly trick him into thinking they are his [[PaperThinDisguise fellow Ling warriors]] until they make the mistake of grabbing Jade. As Lo Pei declares, a sacred warrior like him would never harm a child.
* YouShallNotPass: He stays behind to fight the Shadowkhan, allowing Jackie and Jade to escape with the Talismans. When they are at a safe distance, he throws the Rat Talisman at them, letting himself to become a statue again.

[[folder:The Eight Immortals]]

[[caption-width-right:320:From left to right: Zhang Guolao, Lü Dongbin, Li Tieguai, Lan Caihe, Han Xiangzi, Cao Guojiu, Zhongli Quan and He Xiangu.]]
[[Myth/ChineseMythology Eight legendary heroes of ancient China]]. They are the ones who originally banished Shendu and his siblings to the [[PrisonDimension Demon Netherworld]] and locked their portals with the Pan'Ku Box. However, the artifacts they used to do this (their symbols) were tainted with the demons' chi.
----
* AmbiguousGender: Lan Caihe is youthful, androgynous, and uses flowers as a magical symbol. The ancient mythology isn't clear on Lan Caihe's gender, either (most texts refer to him as male, but it's not iron-clad).
* ArtifactOfDoom: The artifacts they used to seal the Demon Sorcerers (their symbols) absorbed some of the respective demon's chi. Anyone who absorbs a Demon Chi will gain the powers of the respective Demon Sorcerer, but the chi will also [[BodyHorror mutate the person's body, making it look like the Demon Sorcerer]], and [[TheCorruption the demon's evil nature slowly corrupts the host's mind]]. And the changes will supposedly be permanent if the chi is not removed in time.
* BigGood: All of them are this, it is through their heroics and legacy that the Chan Clan is able to fight Shendu's siblings.
%%* BlueIsHeroic: Han Xiangzi and Zhongli Quan.
%%* EyesAlwaysShut: Except He Xiangu, they're never shown with opened eyes.
* FlowerMotifs: He Xiangu's symbol is a lotus pod, Lan Caihe's symbol is an unidentified flower, and Li Tieguai's symbol is a gourd.
* HandicappedBadass: Li Tieguai is shown to have a bad leg. [[AllThereInTheManual When he became an immortal, his soul was transferred into a maimed beggar's body]].
* HeroesPreferSwords: This is a downplayed trope: only Lü Dongbin's symbol is [[SwordAlmighty a sword]].
* LadyOfWar: He Xiangu is an immortal chi sage in an [[KickingAssInAllHerFinery elegant dress]].
* MagicMusic: Zhang Guolao's symbol is a drum, Cao Guojiu's symbol is a pair of castanets, and Han Xiangzi's symbol is [[MagicalFlutist a flute]].
%%* MonochromaticEyes: He Xiangu
* NoodleIncident: The Fire Demon Chi is never even discussed during the final season. Admittedly, since Drago already had the fire powers inherited from his father, it's natural he would not be interested in pursuing the artifact containing Shendu's chi.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: They were able to defeat the Demon Sorcerers single-handedly thousands of years ago. Special awesome points go to He Xiangu, who was able to banish the gravity-altering Tso Lan, the Moon Demon, into ''outer space.'' It's not clear exactly how she did it.
* PaperFanOfDoom: Zhongli Quan's symbol is a fan.
* PinkMeansFeminine: He Xiangu's dress is mostly pink. More interestingly, though, is that the magical beams that surround and banish Tso Lan, the Moon Demon who He Xiangu originally defeated, are also pink; he's the only one who has that color code.
* PoweredArmor: The ancient armor featured in ''Armor of the Gods'' was used by the Immortals in their battles against the Demon Sorcerers, and it's one of the few remaining relics left behind by them. When worn, it [[AdaptiveArmor adjusts to the wielder's physique]] and enhances [[InASingleBound their]] [[SuperStrength physical]] [[SuperToughness abilities]].
* {{Public Domain Character}}s: They are figures from UsefulNotes/{{Taoism}}: they were originally mortal humans who achieved {{immortality}} and various other magical powers through various means, usually as rewards after being tested by a Taoist sage [[Creator/{{Laozi}} Lao Tzu]] or another immortal.
* PrecursorHeroes: Similar to Lo Pei, they are famous heroes who defeated the Demon Sorcerers in the past.
%%* PurpleIsPowerful: Lü Dongbin's clothes are purple and black.
%%* RedIsHeroic: Zhang Guolao has red in his clothes.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: He Xiangu is the only female among them. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] in that the characters weren't invented for the show -- He Xiangu is also the only female of the Eight Immortals.
* TheVoiceless: They never speak in the flashbacks they are shown.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It's never revealed what happened to them after they sealed the Demon Sorcerers away. [[WildMassGuessing For all we know]], they might have been [[PosthumousCharacter destroyed]] or they {{ascended to a higher plane of existence}}.

[[folder:Chi Master Fong]]
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/909311b6ae4709b384daac6c0b42a46a.png]]
[[caption-width-right:320:This is all we see of him.]]
A deceased Chinese mystic who taught Uncle magic for fifteen years. Somewhere along the line, Daolon Wong [[NeverSayDie "defeated"]] him.
----
%%* BlueIsHeroic: His figurine wears a blue robe.
* TheGhost: We don't get to see a flashback of him or to hear his voice, but in ''The Good, the Bad, the Blind, the Deaf and the Mute'', we see on a shrine dedicated to his memory a statue and a small figurine of him.
%%* HermitGuru:
* {{Leitmotif}}: He has one in ''The Good, the Bad, the Blind, the Deaf and the Mute'', when he "spirit communicates". It's a slow and quiet flute tone.
* TheMentor: He taught Uncle all his magic.
* OldMaster: Similar to Uncle, he was an old and wise chi sage who taught Uncle. [[MasterApprenticeChain What Uncle is to Tohru, Fong was to Uncle.]]
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: In ''The Good, the Bad, the Blind, the Deaf and the Mute'', his spirit guides Uncle and his family. He doesn't appear as a "physical spirit", but instead he gives signs through forces of nature (like how [[WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994 Mufasa did with Rafiki]]). It should be noted that [[MeaningfulName Fong can literally mean "wind"]] in Chinese.
* PosthumousCharacter: All we know about him comes from what Uncle and Wong say about him.
* ShrineToTheFallen: He has a shrine and a statue to his memory somewhere in South China.
* SpiritAdvisor: He appears to Uncle in various abstract forms to provide guidance.

An anthropomorphic moose superhero. Normally a fictitious character, unless Jade uses the [[AnimateInanimateObject Rat Talisman]] to bring a stuffed doll of him to life.
----
* ActionHero: His first solution to problems is action.
* AnimalSuperhero: SUPER MOOSE!
* AnimateInanimateObject: Thanks to the Rat Talisman, he becomes a [[LivingToys living toy]].
* BadassAdorable: A crime-fighting and surprisingly effective stuffed animal.
* BigDamnHeroes: He has saved people in every episode he appears in. Nobody except Jade ever expects him.
* CatchPhrase:
** "Da-da-da-da-da-da, ANTLER ACTION!"
** "Evil on the loose, you do not want to mess with Super Moose!"
* CuteBruiser: He charges into battle with ANTLER ACTION!
* MesACrowd: One instant has Jade animated multiple Super Moose Piñatas.
* NonHumanSidekick: At least twice he has acted as a sidekick for Jade.
* TheNoseKnows: Like Daolon Wong's Dark Chi Warriors, he can smell Talisman magic.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: This small plush toy can pack quite a punch, much to the burlier bad guys' astonishment.
* SuperheroesWearCapes: A moose looks like a superhero because of his cape!
