Lamia Scale is another prominent guild in Fiore. A handful of rogue wizards and defectors from this guild first appear on Galuna Island as Lyon's Quirky Miniboss Squad, but they later become one of Fairy Tail's greatest allies when they band together to stop the dark guild Oración Seis. They hold the honor of being the second-strongest guild in Fiore after the first TimeSkip, but are knocked down to third by Fairy Tail.
----

* BadassCrew: They hold the title of the second strongest guild before most of Fairy Tail returns. In fact, compared to most of the other guilds, they do consistently well throughout the whole tournament.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Downplayed. Though most of their prominent members are reformed villains who are beaten by Fairy Tail in the Galuna Island arc, they're still pretty sore about it and reluctant to work with the ones who beat them. They do, however, become close allies with Fairy Tail in the end.
* DubNameChange: The Japanese pronunciation of the guild is lah-me-ah with a short a sound instead of the proper English pronunciation, lay-me-uh with a long a and a short u sound.
* FireForgedFriends: Their partnership with Fairy Tail is chilly at the start of the Nirvana arc, mainly because their guild's representatives understandably caused Lucy, Natsu and their friends grief on Galuna Island. After fighting the Oración Seis together, however, they become one of Fairy Tail's most invaluable allies.
* FriendlyRivalry: Along with Blue Pegasus, they're the best-sported guild opposing Fairy Tail in the Grand Magic Games.
* MythicalMotifs: Lamia's, half women half snake monsters from Greek mythology.
* SnakePeople: The guild is named after the lamia, a monster in Greek mythology with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a snake, which its emblem resembles; Lamia Scale's name written in kanji (Hebihime no Koke) means "Snake Princess's Scale".

The master of Lamia Scale. She's an old, crabby lady who tends to spin around and makes others spin around when she's particularly annoyed with them.
-----
* CharacterCatchPhrase: She screams "I'll spin you!" whenever she does in fact, send someone spinning.
* CharacterTic: She spins her hands around in a circular motion, and sometimes her whole body.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Oh sure she wants to prove Lamia Scale's superiority, but when Sherria starts charging up her FinishingMove in the fight with an already-battered Wendy, Ohba shockingly demands to know if she's trying to kill her opponent with that move.
* FanDisservice: In the anime, she decides to crash the Grand Magic Games' swimsuit contest with her own entry. Chapati Lola puts the crowd's reaction best:
-->Chapati: And with that crash course in reality, the mood in the arena has been brought down to Earth-land. Party's over, folks. The other teams in the arena have begun to clear out.
* FrontlineGeneral: She fights off Orochi's monster army alongside the rest of her guild.
* InconsistentSpelling: It's rendered as "Ohba Babasahma" in the Funimation dub.
* NeverMessWithGranny: Her guild is careful not to get in her way when she's in a bad mood, or else they will be subject to torture by spinning, even if they haven't done anything wrong.
* PunnyName: Her name sounds similar to "ooba" and "baba-sama", which are both Japanese for "grandmother."
* SpectacularSpinning: Constantly makes spinning gestures with her hands or entire body, as well as making her hapless guild members spin around with her magic as punishment, or just to vent her frustrations.

Gray's former senior and rival who studied together with him under Ur's. He uses a special variety of Ice Make that can create living ice golems. First appearing before Fairy Tail as the villainous "Reitei"Sub-Zero Emperor, he is obsessed with achieving his lifelong dream of surpassing his teacher by resurrecting and defeating Deliora, whom Ur sacrificed herself for to seal away. After being thwarted by Gray and his friends, Lyon is convinced to join the Lamia Scale guild, where he rises among the ranks to become one of its ace members.
----
* AllForNothing: He spends ten long years toiling to move Deliora's frozen form to Galuna Island and gather enough followers to help resurrect the demon so he can destroy it himself. Unfortunately for him, he realizes that Ur already killed the demon.
* AmbitionIsEvil: In the Galuna Island arc, he's already aspiring to revive Deliora and become one of Fiore's most powerful wizards ever.
* AntiVillain: As Reitei, Lyon is willing to unleash a demon of insurmountable power just so he can kill it and prove himself as the world's strongest wizard. However, he also does it with the promise of avenging those who lost their families to that demon. Although their goals might have simply coincided.
* TheApprentice: He served as Ur's apprentice during his childhood, at least until Ur froze the demon at the cost of losing her own body. His GoalInLife was to surpass her as a wizard, which got frustrated with Ur's heroic sacrifice.
* ArchEnemy: For Gray Fullbuster, who was his co-apprentice under Ur. Lyon hated him for accidentally causing Ur to sacrifice her life and wants to surpass the latter by resurrecting Deliora.
* ArcVillain: The main antagonist of the Galuna Island arc, where he leads a group of followers in a ceremony to revive a nigh unstoppable demon so he can kill it and boost his own ego, inadvertently causing the local islanders to suffer in the process.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: At first, he thinks he's strong enough to kill the demon Ur only managed to seal away, and considers his Ice Make superior to Gray's due to his greater speed and ability in making living creatures instead of static objects. This all changes once he's beaten and his plans are foiled, forcing him to reevaluate his life.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Against Ur's instructions, Lyon took up performing Ice Make spells with a single hand, which he boasts is more effective than the traditional fist-in-palm stance Gray and Ur use. While this allows for faster casting, his creations prove to be more imbalanced and not as sturdy or powerful as Gray's spells, which becomes his undoing.
* BadassCape: He wears a long white cape and is a competent Ice Make wizard who is willing to go toe-to-toe with Gray and his friends.
* BattleStrip: Much like Gray, he removes his clothes in battle, though only after his HeelFaceTurn.
* BerserkButton: Mentioning that Deliora cannot be beaten is one way to tick him off.
* CainAndAbel: He and Gray are essentially adopted brothers under Ur, so their deadly rivalry in the Galuna Island arc counts as this. They manage to work things out in the end, however.
* ChildProdigy: He was able to perform a one-handed Ice Make as a child, a feat that is considered very difficult even for skilled wizards. He even figured out how to use Iced Shell on his own, but Ur stopped him before he could ever use it.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Like Gray and Ur, Lyon knows how to use Iced Shell, the forbidden spell that Ur used to turn herself into ice and freeze Deliora. However, Ur stopped him the one time he ever attempted to use it.
* DubNameChange:
** His title "Reitei" (meaning "Sub-Zero Emperor") is translated as "Cold Emperor" in Funimation's dub.
** His name is pronounced different ways in different languages and dubs: the Japanese version and Funimation's English adaptation use the French pronunciation "lee-ohn", while the Animax/Tagalog adaptation uses the English "lie-un" pronunciation.
* EasilyForgiven: Despite his entirely selfish motivations for wanting to kill Deliora and disregard for Ur's sacrifice, Gray goes from wanting to smash his face in to parting fairly amicably with him at the end of the Galuna Island arc.
* EvilCounterpart: While Gray managed to move on from Deliora (for the most part) per Ur's wishes and joined a guild, Lyon allowed himself to be consumed with hatred and bitterness at having his dream of surpassing Ur trampled upon. It's only after realizing just how futile his actions were in the end that he begins to follow Gray's example.
* EvilFormerFriend: He and Gray were more or less friends as kids, but became bitter enemies after Gray accidentally brought about their teacher's death. After Lyon's HeelFaceTurn, however, they manage to smooth things out.
* FakeDefector: He pretends to attack Gray while battling Racer to focus the enemy's attention on him so he can get Gray out of Racer's magic field and land a finishing blow. It fools even Sherry, his ally.
* HeelFaceTurn: He begins as one of the series's first Arc Villains on Galuna Island. After getting defeated and giving another reason to live beyond his EvilPlan, he joins a guild and becomes one of Fairy Tail's allies.
* HeroicSacrifice: When Racer attempts to take his enemies with him with explosives, Lyon pulls one of these to save Gray and Sherry. He manages to survive, though.
* HopelessSuitor: He is this to Juvia, who is already in love with Gray. Most of his gestures towards Juvia only creeps her out.
* HumblePie: He arrogantly thinks he has the makings of the world's greatest Ice Make wizard when he plans to kill Deliora, the one monster Ur seemingly never could. But when he's beaten by Gray and later discovers that Deliora was DeadAllAlong after years of being frozen by Ur, Lyon realizes just how far he has to go and decides to turn himself around.
* AnIcePerson: Has the ability to create creatures out of his ice which move on their own.
* InconsistentSpelling: Funimation spells his last name as "Bastia".
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: He gives up his pursuit of Juvia after seeing her distraught over their collective vision of Gray's death from an alternate future as a side effect of Ultear's Last Ages spell.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Even though his attempts to revive Diodora were amoral at best, Lyon's ultimately a good person.
* LightIsNotGood: When he's first introduced in the Galuna Island arc, he's a straight-up villain who wears a white cape as part of his Reitei clothing.
* LoveAtFirstSight: With Juvia of all people, forming a LoveTriangle (or in Juvia's mind, a LoveDodecahedron) with Gray that the latter honestly wants no part of. He moves on after the Grand Magic Games, though, only to set his sights on Merudy in the war with the Alvarez Empire.
* ManlyTears: He openly cries as he shouts in vain for Sherria to come heal Gray after he gets shot straight through the head in the second Dragon King Festival.
* MrFanservice: He's just as well-built as Gray, and almost as prone to taking his shirt off as him too.
* NotSoAboveItAll: It turns out he also shares Gray's stripping habit due to Ur's training, but unlike Gray he has more control over it and/or it's just not to the point of doing it subconsciously.
* PrettyInMink: The hood and cuffs of his outfit in the Nirvana arc are furred.
* ReplacementGoldfish: He openly considered himself this for Ultear when he became her apprentice, which earned him a slap in the face.
* SmugSnake: His determination to prove himself as the world's strongest Ice Make wizard drives him into reviving Deliora so that he can kill it. He's knocked down a peg or two after being defeated by Gray and realizing his efforts were futile.
* Snowlems: His Living Ice Make technique grants him the power to create living ice animals that he can control remotely, including dragons, tigers, and gorillas.
* TheSociopath: Gray initially thinks Lyon is so gung-ho about melting Deliora's ice prison because he doesn't know that ice is actually Ur. Lyon later admits that he does know; that doesn't make her alive in his eyes. Gray is unamused by this revelation.
* TookALevelInBadass: Following the first TimeSkip, he's strong enough to fight against Kagura and hold his own against her (although she greatly holds back), and would have likely beaten Gray and Juvia in their two-on-one had it not been for Sherria being frozen with surprise.
* TookALevelInKindness: After joining Lamia Scale, he loses most of his arrogance and sociopathic tendencies, and becomes much more friendly around Gray.
* UnwittingPawn: He doesn't even realize that his own minion, Zalty, is actually a disguised Ultear who uses him to take control of Deliora for herself, until it's too late.
* VillainousBreakdown: He loses it after learning Deliora has been DeadAllAlong thanks to Ur, meaning everything he did was for nothing.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He and Gray were friends when they were children, up until Ur's sacrifice drove Lyon into reviving the demon himself and become one of the most powerful Ice Make wizards. They did reconcile after realizing that his efforts in reviving Deliora were AllForNothing.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: He has a blatant disregard for the lives of Galuna's villagers, despite his apparent disdain for bloodshed. This changes after his HeelFaceTurn, however.
* YouShouldHaveDiedInstead: He thoroughly resents Gray for going after Deliora since it caused Ur to sacrifice herself in order to save him. Over time, though, he learns to cope with it.

Sherry's younger, clumsier cousin. A teenage prodigy, she is a Sky God Slayer with mastery over wind and healing magic. She becomes good friends with fellow sky wizard Wendy during the Grand Magic Games, later forming the "Sky Sisters" with her when Wendy joins Lamia Scale after Fairy Tail disbands.
----
* BlowYouAway: She conjures black winds with her magic.
* BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu: She takes down [=DiMaria=] Yesta, a member of the Spriggan 12 who wields the power of a god, during the war with Alvarez, but in order to get the power to stand against her she needs to undergo Ultear's Third Origin, which gives her all the magic power she'll ever have for a brief time at the cost of losing her magic afterwards. Even worse, [=DiMaria=] is able to return to the war later, though luckily Natsu in his E.N.D. state takes care of her again, and Sherria herself is able to slowly regain the ability to use magic after a year's worth of training.
* ClingyJealousGirl: To Lyon, to the point where she attacks Juvia for taking Lyon's love from her, bar the fact that Juvia is just as annoyed about his affections as Sherria is.
* CombatMedic: Her Sky Magic can be used to heal as well as attack using wind and air. Unlike Wendy's Dragon Slayer Magic, however, Sherria's God Slayer Magic can not only directly heal wounds and injuries, but she can also use her magic on herself to recover from devastating attacks. The catch is that she can't restore stamina like Wendy's magic does, allowing the two girls to fight evenly.
* CuteClumsyGirl: She and Wendy trip and fall on their faces at the same time right before their match.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Her magic is colored black as is every other God Slayer's, but she's a very sweet girl.
* DePower: As a result of Ultear unlocking her Third Origin to beat [=DiMaria=], which essentially gives her all the magic power she will ever have, she uses up all her magic for good and becomes an ordinary girl. However, Mashima states that since no human is born able to use magic, she can very well relearn from the ground up, which she begins to do after a year of training.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Downplayed in that her and Wendy's match in the Grand Magic Games ends in a draw, but they become fast friends afterwards.
* DissonantSerenity: Demonstrates an eerie calm during her match with Wendy. It's really just a RedHerring to make her appear to be the source of Zeref's power in the tournament arena.
* DontYouDarePityMe: When Natsu and the others come to take her back to reform the disbanded Fairy Tail, Wendy decides to stay with Sherria so she won't feel lonely, since Sherry already left the guild. However, Sherria gently admonishes her for staying with her out of pity, and after assuring her she can take care of herself, encourages her to return with Fairy Tail.
* ElementalMotifs: Wind, just like Wendy. Also doubles as PersonalityPowers given her carefree and cheerful nature.
* FeatherFlechettes: Her ultimate attack, Swarm Cloud of Heaven, produces a flurry of black feathers from her arms that rend her opponent.
* FriendlyRivalry: She and Wendy start out as rivals while they're on opposing teams in the Grand Magic Games, getting along as soon as they meet each other in their match. After that, their rivalry all but disappears, but they remain friends.
* GirlishPigtails: They add to her overall cutesy look, making the reveal of her true power all the more jarring.
* AGodIAmNot: She may be a God Slayer like Zancrow and Olga, but unlike those two, she never brags about it.
* HealingFactor: Her Sky God Slayer Magic is set apart from Wendy's magic with her ability to heal her own injuries.
* HeroicSacrifice: A non-fatal version. In the Alvarez Empire arc, she and Wendy are given a choice between who will achieve their Third Origin at the permanent cost of their magical abilities. Rather than let Wendy's power go to waste when Fairy Tail's fight has only just begun, Sherria undergoes the process herself so that Wendy can tend to a mortally wounded Carla.
* HopelessSuitor: She takes up Sherry's role as this to Lyon after her cousin becomes engaged to Ren from Blue Pegasus.
* IdolSinger: Acts as one alongside Wendy during Lamia Scale's Thanksgiving Festival.
* InconsistentSpelling: Her name is spelled as "Shelia Blendi" by Funimation.
* KillTheGod: Her God Slayer Magic was developed for this very purpose. She is also the first and only God Slayer seen accomplishing just that, taking out [=DiMaria=]'s Chronos God Soul form after getting beefed up by her Third Origin.
* LittleMissBadass: She's only a couple of years older than Wendy, but she's a very powerful fighter courtesy of her God Slayer Magic. It is asserted by Ohba that she was selected as one of the Grand Magic Games' main fighters over her older cousin, Sherry, because her pure raw magic power is far greater.
* LoveFreak: She gets the same obsession with "love" from Sherry, though Sherria claims her "love" isn't nearly as strong as her cousin's.
* LovelyAngels: With Wendy after the latter joined Lamia Scale over the second Time Skip.
* MythicalMotifs: Gods, being a God Slayer and several of her attacks are named after wind and sky gods from various mythologies.
* NiceGirl: She is extremely friendly towards Wendy in their match, and even shows concern for her when Wendy appears to be struggling.
* OvernightAgeUp: Getting her Third Origin unlocked by Ultear temporarily ages her up from a teenager to a young adult, the point where her magic potential would reach its peak.
* PowerAtAPrice: During the Alvarez Empire arc, she unlocks her Third Origin to reach her full magic potential and take down [=DiMaria=], a Takeover wizard possessing the powers of a god. The catch is that once she uses up this power, she can never use that magic again, although she can (and does) relearn to use it in time.
* RedHerring: Jellal suspects her to be the source of Zeref's magic around the Grand Magic Games arena because she is a God Slayer whose Lost Magic is inherently tied to the Black Wizard. After the battle, it turns out the source is elsewhere.
* RoseHairedSweetie: She's friendly, cheerful, and a LoveFreak just like her cousin.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: She gets her status as a LoveFreak and ClingyJealousGirl around Lyon from Sherry, though it's greatly downplayed by her own admission.
* SmashSisters: She forms a team with Wendy known as the "Sky Sisters" after the second TimeSkip, taking on all of Orochi's Fin together in the Fairy Tail Revival arc, and later [=DiMaria=] in the Alvarez Empire arc.
* TeenGenius: At the ripe young age of 15, she's had the honor of skipping a grade in the magic academy and graduating at the top of her class, and receiving a highly advanced spellbook from Council chairman Grand Doma in recognition of her efforts (according to her profile). This book is the same she learned her God Slayer Magic from; the thing is, no one ever expected that she would actually be able to master it.
* TryingNotToCry: As Wendy leaves Lamia Scale, Lyon gives her permission to cry now once Wendy won't be able to see it and feel guilty, but she holds back her tears because she also wants Fairy Tail rebuilt.

A young man with large eyebrows who uses his Wave Motion spell to produce magic-negating pulses from his hands. He leaves his guild to follow Lyon and take revenge against Deliora, but returns once he learns the error of his ways.
----
* AnimeHair: Has this kind of hair before he starts dressing in a more Eastern style.
* AntiMagic: His Wave Motion instantly nullifies any magic it makes contact with. The only catch is that it is only effective against one type of magic at a time, so it's useless on groups of wizards with differing abilities.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He fancies himself an invincible wizard others could never hope to defeat since he can negate their powers.
* BashBrothers: Fights alongside Toby in the Grand Magic Games, with Yûka nullifying their opponents' magic and Toby going in for the kill.
* BigOlEyebrows: His defining features are his freakishly huge eyebrows. They get even longer after the TimeSkip.
* BlackBeadEyes: In most of his post-TimeSkip manga appearances.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: He's able to handle and calm Toby's HairTriggerTemper most of the time.
* MustMakeAmends: In the anime, he and Sherry come to the Galuna Island village one more time for "payback" after Lyon is defeated. After Erza takes them out, they reveal that their visit was so the villagers could get payback against themselves.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue oni to Toby's red, with Toby being loud and temperamental while Yûka is quiet and composed.
* ReverseArmFold: Has his arms resting behind his back most of the time.
* SphereOfPower: He can create his AntiMagic barrier as a bubble around himself.
* TookALevelInBadass: Happens over the TimeSkip. To elaborate, he gets fourth place in the Chariot game, and manages to get a tie in a dual battle alongside Lyon against Millianna and Kagura. He even gets a point for Lamia Scale in the big battle before losing to Kagura.

A dimwitted man who dresses and behaves like a dog. He can grow his nails into the Mega Jellyfish Paralyzing Claws which, well, paralyze people. He accompanies Sherry and Yûka in taking revenge against Deliora with Lyon.
----
* BashBrothers: Usually fights alongside Yûka, which works to Toby's advantage since he proves to be far more effective at taking out opponents once Yûka uses his AntiMagic Waves on them.
* ButterFace: He has the body of a Hunk and is always shirtless, but has the face of an ugly dog.
* Cloudcuckoolander: Just to give an example of how dim this guy is, he spends three whole months looking for a sock that was hung around his neck the whole time.
* DogsAreDumb: Has a dog-themed appearance and is rather simple-minded.
* DumbMuscle: Toby is rather dimwitted, and works best by assisting Yûka in taking down their foes.
* HairTriggerTemper: Toby sometimes gets mad for no apparent reason.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Toby is the only guy who Natsu defeats without lifting a finger by tricking him into touching himself with his paralyzing claws.
* InconsistentSpelling: Kodansha alternatively spells his surname as "Horhorta", while the English dub spells it as "Olorta".
* MotorMouth: Creator/DaisukeKishio voices him as this in the anime.
* NoIndoorVoice: Prone to screaming, especially once he gets mad.
* TheParalyzer: His poison-tipped claws have this effect on his enemies.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red oni to Yûka's blue, with Toby being loud and temperamental while Yûka is quiet and composed.
* SadClown: As silly as he is, he too is still stinging from the loss of his family against Deliora.
* VerbalTic: "Ooon!"
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Never wears a shirt, except for the Grand Magic Ball.
* WolverineClaws: His magic lets him grow out his fingernails into sharp claws, which are coated in a poison that paralyzes opponents.

The ace of Lamia Scale and a master earth wizard who has the power to create indestructible columns of solid rock from the earth. Originally considered to be the weakest of the Ten Wizard Saints despite his massive strength, he rises up the ranks to become the strongest behind the Four Emperors of Ishgal. He later joins his fellow Wizard Saints to serve on the Magic Council following the incident with Tartaros.
----
* TheAce: He's the strongest member of Lamia Scale, on top of being one of the Ten Wizard Saints. This has earned him great respect from everyone, even Lyon, who'd previously been an ArrogantKungFuGuy.
* TheArchmage: As expected of a Wizard Saint, having powerful Earth Magic that proves capable of defeating Brain of the Oración Seis. He takes it up a notch after the timeskip, being ranked fifth amongst the Wizard Saints, just below the 'Four Ishtar Gods'.
* BadassLongcoat: Wears one after the TimeSkip. He doesn't take it off until he decides to get serious while fighting Laxus.
* BaldHeadOfToughness: Has a shiny bald head, and proves physically tough enough to match Laxus in hand-to-hand combat.
* BaldMystic: He's a powerful wizard with a beautiful, bald head. That being said, he's pretty self-conscious about it, noticeably getting ticked off when Jacob Lessio mockingly says "nice hair."
* TheBigGuy: Tends to be the heaviest hitter of whatever team he is a part of thanks to his size, strength and powerful magic.
* CurbStompBattle: Beats Brain silly in the Nirvana arc. This trope later becomes literal when he actually smacks Orga's head into the curb with his bare hands, without magic. Later on, he is on the suffering end of this along with three of the Four Emperors of Ishgal, courtesy of God Serena.
* DemotedToExtra: In the Alvarez arc, his role is limited to playing Worf to God Serena while the rest of his former guild takes a more active role in the battle.
* DishingOutDirt: He is regarded as a master of earth magic, with his signature attack being the ability to turn even the softest sand into iron-solid rock to attack and defend.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: According to his profile, he hates peas because Squick a bug crawled into his mouth while he was eating some.
* DubNameChange: The Japanese dub pronounces his name as "nay-kiss" with a short e sound, while the Funimation dub pronounces his last name as "nee-kiss" with a long e sound.
* ElementalMotifs: Earth, being the nature of his magic, and reflecting his humble, grounded personality.
* FormalCharactersUseKeigo: He's a serious and humble man who almost always speaks formally. He uses the highly honorific suffix "-dono" when speaking to anyone, be they ally or enemy, weak or strong. Even Happy, whom he calls "Cat-dono" due to not knowing his name at the time ("Sir Cat" in the dub).
* GentleGiant: Despite being tall and a bit intimidating, Jura is very kind and humble.
* GracefulLoser: When Laxus scores the telling blow against him in the tournament finals, Jura smiles and congratulates him on his victory.
* HumbleHero: He is one of the Ten Wizard Saints, but dismisses it as only a title granted by the Magic Council, and is incredibly kind and jovial towards his allies.
* InconsistentSpelling: His surname is spelled "Nehkis" in the Funimation subtitles.
* InformedAttribute: Subverted. Jura is introduced as one of the Ten Wizard Saints, but between him demurring that he is the weakest of the Saints and the way Angel easily dispatches him, it's easy to assume he's not all that talented. Then he proceeds to issue an unceremonious beatdown to Brain, shocking Lucy and Gray. When they remark that he actually is very powerful, Happy reminds them that of course he is, he's a Wizard Saint.
* KungFuWizard: He is a skilled martial artist on top of using magic.
* LanternJawOfJustice: Has a prominent square chin compared to other characters, and is one of the series's most heroic characters.
* LetsGetDangerous: Jura is hyped as one of the Ten Wizard Saints, but it doesn't really show at the start, which isn't helped by the fact he calls himself the weakest of the group and is easily taken out by Angel in a sneak attack. However, when he faces Brain, he shows exactly why he has that title.
* MasterOfAll: His Grand Magic Games stat guide has him rated as "COOL" in every statistic except his unique one: hair, in which he gets a 0 for his baldness.
* MightyGlacier: His one weakness is that he usually remains in one spot when fighting, which gives Lightning Bruisers like Jellal and Laxus an advantage when they start using their speed. However, he more than makes up for this with raw strength and technique. Plus, he does possess some degree of SuperReflexes.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: His Fuji Eruption technique is no different from a volcanic eruption. It's so strong, in fact, that Lyon worries the Council will start imposing restrictions on the Wizard Saints if he ever goes all out.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Once he joins the Council, he automatically becomes one of Fairy Tail's most reliable allies there. He's even notably the only councilor besides Warrod who actually supports and assists with Fairy Tail's return to legal guild status, as opposed to the first two Councils, which almost unanimously agreed the guild should be disbanded.
* RedBaron: "Iron Rock" Jura, so named for his SignatureMove Iron Rock Wall that creates rock barriers are stronger than walls of solid iron.
* StrongAndSkilled: Possesses powerful Earth Magic that he can use for offense, defense, ranged and melee combat, being one of the few people taking out Oración Seis members without any backup. He's no slouch in the physical department either, dispatching a God Slayer like Orga in the Grand Magic Games with almost no magic, just a well-timed blow, and going blow for blow with a powerhouse like Laxus in melee combat.
* SuperReflexes: During the Grand Magic Games, Jura noticeably pulls off some high-speed reflexes in order to cast spells in time to counter Jellal using Meteor or Laxus racing around in his lightning state, but perhaps his most impressive reflex feat is when Orga unleashes his KamehameHadoken of God Slayer lightning straight at him. In the time it takes for the attack to fire and cross the distance to blow through the building behind him, Jura without magic dodges the beam and crosses the distance himself to slam Orga's head into the pavement for a one-hit KO.
* TakingTheBullet: He sacrifices himself to save Fairy Tail from a trap set up by Brain in the Nirvana arc. Fortunately, he survives.
* TookALevelInBadass: As if he weren't badass enough in the Nirvana arc, he goes from the weakest of the Ten Wizard Saints to the #5 spot over the course of seven years. Considering the four above him are said to not even be human, this makes Jura one of the most powerful human beings on the continent.
* UnexpectedSuccessor: After nearly everyone from the Council is assassinated by Tartaros, Jura and his fellow Wizard Saints (save Makarov, who went missing, and God Serena, who defected over to Alvarez) are chosen as Ishgal's new councilors.
* UnusualEyebrows: His eyebrows are oval-shaped and stand at a diagonal angle above his eyes.
* WorldsStrongestMan: Downplayed. As the fifth-strongest Wizard Saint, he is considered the strongest human compared to the likes of the four ranked above him, known as the Four Emperors of Ishgal, who are seen as gods among men. He is subsequently blown out of the water by the Spriggan 12, with only Acnologia, Gajeel, Gray, Jellal, Laxus (the person who defeated Jura in fair combat), Natsu, Sherria and Sting defeating one of them single-handedly at the height of their power.
* TheWorfEffect:
** PlayedWith in the "Oración Seis arc. He seems to be easily defeated by a sneak attack from Angel right at the start of the arc, to establish how much of a threat the Oración Seis is. But soon after it's revealed that he's only been wounded, and he arrives just in the nick of time to save his allies from being killed. He goes on to be vital for Oración Seis' defeat, even giving Brain a CurbStompBattle.
** Despite being considered one of the strongest wizards alive, he is no match for the might of a dragon. This is because dragons are so amazingly powerful that even shoddy imitation robots of dragons powered by dragon-slayer magic are mighty foes.
** He also stands no chance against God Serena, the strongest of the Wizard Saints, even with the remaining three-strongest on Jura's side. This is proof that God Serena truly is the strongest of the bunch. In Jura's own words, the difference between the #1 Wizard Saint and the #10 Wizard Saint is the difference between Earth and Heaven.
* WorthyOpponent: He and Laxus come to consider each other as such after Laxus proves able to withstand an attack that could OneHitKO Olga.
* YellowEarthGreenEarth: "Iron Rock" Jura is a wizard who specializes in Earth Magic and most of his spells have a yellow aura. In the anime proper, InstantRunes circles associated with Earth spells have a yellowish-golden color.

A love-obsessed woman with the power to control non-humans like dolls using her magic, Doll Attack. She once left Lamia Scale and became one of Lyon's loyal followers to take revenge against Deliora for killing her family. She later cleans up her act and rejoins Lamia Scale alongside Lyon, only to eventually leave when she becomes engaged to Blue Pegasus's Ren.
----
* AdaptedOut: Due to her minimal role in the Nirvana arc, she makes no appearance in the stage play based on that arc.
* AntagonistAbilities: By her own admission and demonstration, many wizards, especially those specializing solely in SummonMagic like Lucy, are heavily disadvantaged in a direct confrontation against her.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: She becomes evil and murderous during the Nirvana arc when she falls under the titular InstantAllegianceArtifact's spell, and nearly goes on a killing spree to avenge Lyon's supposed death.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: She has a sizable chest which is especially emphasized in her post-TimeSkip outfit, due to her skimpy top leaving her Underboobs exposed, which causes Elfman to get DistractedByTheSexy.
* CatEaredHeadband: She wears a headband with cat ears as part of her post-Time Skip outfit.
* DespairEventHorizon: She crosses it following Lyon's DisneyDeath, which gets her possessed by Nirvana and sends her on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge. It ends once she finds out he's alive.
* DemotedToExtra: Despite being a moderately relevant antagonist-turned-frenemy to Lucy in the first half of Fairy Tail, she becomes less prominent in favor of her cousin, Sherria, during the Grand Magic Games, before disappearing altogether.
* DubNameChange: Her Doll Play magic is called "Marionette Attack" in the English dub.
* ElegantGothicLolita: Dresses up as such on Galuna Island, using frills and pigtails. She changes her style after joining Lamia Scale, however.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Goes from GirlishPigtails to LettingHerHairDown between her appearances in the Galuna Island and Nirvana arcs sort of as a coming-of-age thing.
* FreudianExcuse: She performs any amoral order of Reitei in the hope that he will succeed in killing Deliora, guilty of making orphans countless children including Sherry herself.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: During their battle, Lucy tricks her into taking control of Aquarius, who washes both her and Lucy away with her attack.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: During her fight against Lucy, when the latter thinks she can perfectly react to each of her attacks and then get scared when Sherry creates an immense golem.
* InconsistentSpelling: Her surname is spelled as "Blendi" by Funimation.
* InLoveWithLove: She's very dramatic and passionate when it comes to love, which is why she acts so obsessed with Lyon and later Ren.
* InTheBack: After becoming BrainwashedAndCrazy under the effects of Nirvana's spell, she creates a dangerous plant monster that she uses to attack and squeeze Gray in its grip as he is distracted and unaware, almost managing to kill him. Later, while trying to attack Lucy and Natsu, Gray repays her with the same coin.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: She is essentially a very beautiful witch capable of taking control of the body of all non-human creatures and animating any inanimate object to transform it into a monster that will fully obey her orders.
* LoveFreak: "Love" is practically her CharacterCatchphrase as she uses it in totally bizarre situations, such as using "love" instead of "death" to describe "eternal rest".
* LoveMakesYouEvil: Part of the reason she follows Lyon in the Galuna Island arc is out of a romantic obsession with him. It takes a dark turn in the Nirvana arc where the titular spell's Instant Allegiance Artifact powers send her on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge due to her dark feelings after Lyon's Heroic Sacrifice, though she returns to normal once she sees that Lyon survived.
* MarionetteMaster: Her Doll Play magic lets her control anything that isn't human, which includes from material things like carpets and rocks to living beings like trees and even celestial spirits.
* MustMakeAmends: In the anime, she and Yûka come to the Galuna Island village one more time for "payback" after Lyon is defeated. After Erza takes them out, they reveal that their visit was so the villagers could get payback against them.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Shortly after become crazy thanks to the spell Nirvana the first thing she does is crush the poor Gray in the grip of her liana monster until he passes out and then, subsequently, she almost successfully attack both Natsu and Lucy by taking them by surprise.
* OfficialCouple: She becomes engaged to Ren during the first TimeSkip, and marries him over the second.
* OutOfFocus: Although she briefly took the spotlight over Yûka and Toby in the guild alliance, she wound up getting overshadowed by her own cousin, Sherria, and ultimately PutOnABus.
* PutOnABus: After leaving Lamia Scale to get married to Ren over the second TimeSkip, Sherry is never seen or mentioned again.
* RetCanon: Trope. According to info provided in the manga, she was a defector from Lamia Scale who simply rejoins the guild after the Galuna Island arc. In the anime, Lucy is shocked to see her with Lamia Scale and assumes she'd joined for the first time. Although this could be a mistake on her part, no effort is made to correct her, either.
* RoseHairedSweetie: She fits the romantic subtype perfectly for being a LoveFreak obsessed with Lyon, and later her lovey-dovey relationship with her fiance, Ren.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Under the spell Nirvana, Sherry launches herself into a murderous fury towards Gray and his friends because she blames them for the HeroicSacrifice of Lyon.
* ShipTease: Mostly with Lyon pre-TimeSkip, but also gets some with Ren, whom she becomes engaged to during TimeSkip, and officially marries after the second.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Engages in this with Ren during the Grand Magic Games, flirting with him from the rafters even though they're on opposing teams.
* SquishyWizard: Although her magic is very powerful and efficient on many fields, Sherry (for the few times that she was seen in action at least) does not seem to be particularly MadeOfIron like most of the characters in this series, which often brought her to be easily knocked down by her opponents every time they understand how to stem her spells or take advantage of her distraction.
* TearsOfJoy: She sheds tears of relief upon seeing that Lyon survived his apparent death, signifying her release from Nirvana's control.
* Underboobs: Her post-TimeSkip outfit has these, which even attracts Elfman's attention.
