Recruiting a batch of new recruits, all of whom were ''5'11'' or taller, and using their heights to dominate both the line and the back, the team took out the veteran Hashiritani Deer and the thuggish Zokugaku Chameleons, before facing off against the Devil Bats in the semi-finals.

With the three of them as linebackers, the Poseidon evolved into one of the most formidable teams in the Tokyo Tournament.
