An underground Lungmen pharmacist with a peculiar view on medicine, employed in Lee's Detective Agency.
----
* AchillesHeel: Not hitting anything. As he is losing health every second he is on the field, he needs healing in order not to die. He gets health back by shooting enemies (by a certain chance every hit) and both his second skill and his third skill entirely rely on him having an operator in his range to hit. An Aak who cannot hit enemies or allies but is healed constantly by Medics or passive effects like Angelina's '''Part-time Job''' and Perfumer's '''Lavender''', is dead weight. This in contrast to Hung, who needs to be hit to be effective. [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration Hmmm]]...
* AllForNothing: The gangsters he helped in his operator record, by giving them what little money he had saved up, got apprehended by another gang ''immediately'' after they buried the money somewhere only they would know to look. This left him with pretty much nothing until Lee took him in.
* AlternateCharacterReading: His actual, non-westernized name is '阿', denoting an 'ah' sound. [[ThoseTwoGuys Together with Hung]], whose real name is '吽', they form [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-un the A-un]], also while considering the animals in their E2 art. (The ''agyo'' in Aak's case, since its mouth is opened)
* AsianLionDogs: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komainu Komainu]], specifically the ''a-gyo'', which are said to keep evil out, which fits with his offensive skills. Rather oddly, Hung and Aak follow the classical ''Japanese'' depiction of the creatures, known as the ''A-un'', despite them hailing from an in-universe equivalent of Hong Kong. Whereas Hung is the ''un-gyo'', Aak represents the ''a-gyo'', which is the more lion-like one of the two. In other cultures, even modern Japanese, the komainu pairs are identical in design, with the only difference being the shape of their mouths (i.e. the ''a-gyo'' has an open mouth, while the ''un-gyo'' has it closed).
* AttackAttackAttack: Seeing as his health constantly decays, he ''needs'' to be able to always be shooting things to ''[[LifeDrain keep himself alive]]'' if he's not being watched by a Medic.
* AwesomeButImpractical: His second and third skills, Type-γ Stimpack and Durian-Flavored Stimpack, offer a massive '''80%''' Defense and Max HP buff and a huge ''50%'' Attack and Attack Speed buff, respectively, to himself and an operator in front of him, at a very low SP cost to boot. Proper application of said skills can make absolute monsters out of your DPS or tanks. The catch is that both of these skills ''damage'' your own operators and averting FriendlyFireproof, sometimes in a fatal way.
** Aak deals 15 x (500 - DEF) damage per volley, capped at 25 damage per hit for those with 475 DEF and up, so ideally, his S2 and S3 should only be used on operators with at minimum 400 DEF and with decent HP to boot. Normal ranged operators like Snipers and Casters usually cannot survive the initial barrage alone, or would be weakened to a point where a single tap will finish them off. Should one ''still'' want to have Aak buff their ranged operators, they would need some manner of DEF buffs like that of Shining or Nian (both of whom ''still'' need their third skill at a high enough skill level and are active simultaneously to actually grant enough DEF for the ranged operator to survive the buff), which makes it so that to make Aak universally useful, one has to build a team around ''him'', instead of the other way aroundd. As such, Aak is a very niche operator at best, but he performs extremely well in said niche, even if it's uncomfortably tiny.
** It should be noted that the damaging volley can be ''dodged'', but the target will still receive the full effects of the buffs. This means Aak shooting at operators with innate Physical evasion like Hellagur or Hoshiguma can end up dealing no damage to them, while still giving them the beneficial effects, if your luck is good.
** On the other hand, one may want to deliberately damage your operators. Operators with defensive recovery skills can get a SP boost out of it, while shooting Liskarm with an Aak buff will cause Liskarm to churn out a surprisingly large amount of SP for other operators.
* BackAlleyDoctor: He's this in Lee's Detective Agency, a role that he took from his father, who became this after he was framed for malpractice by his collegue and forced to abandon mainstream medical practice. However, him joining Lee's Detective Agency means that he doesn't need to stoop as low as his father did.
* BeastMan: He has cat-like facial features and his body is covered in fur.
* BoringButPractical: His first skill, '''Rapid Firing''', does not grant most of the powerful buffs that his latter two skills can provide to both him and a random ally, instead being a generic ASPD buff that only affects Aak. However, it is his only skill that can be used more freely without endangering his allies, and the increased ASPD synergizes well with his talent; at Mastery 3, the ASPD increase of Aak's S1 becomes twice as potent than his S3 at the same Mastery level. This can let him fill in as a pseudo-Sniper in stages that ban the use of Snipers.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Aak is ''very'' shady and eccentric as a doctor, creating bizarre pills like one that makes farts smell like watermelon, using untested medicine for the first time on the battlefield, and his lab is seen as a place to avoid for offputting smells and loud cackling from Aak himself. He's also easily one of the most unparalleled experts in medical knowledge in Rhodes Island and the medical team acknowledges this once they warm up to him as a person.
* CommonalityConnection: Aak used to hate mainstream medicine. But when he learned that the real identity of "Mr. Blood" is no other than Warfarin, the two frequently engaged in academic discussions. And when they found out that they share some [[MadScientist common interests and tastes]], strange laughing and cheering became commonly heard from either Warfarin's or Aak's lab, now with two voices instead of one.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He was briefly mentioned by Waai Fu in [=CB-ST2=] of Code of Brawl, months before his playable debut in Ancient Forge.
* {{Expy}}: Like Warfarin, Aak shares quite a lot of commonalities with [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 The Medic]]. Both are {{Mad Doctor}}s with a MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate and a morbid sense of curiosity with the humanoid biology, whose impressive medical breakthroughs were made ForScience first, to satisfy their own curiosities second, and actual life-saving benefits last.
* ForScience: The trait that he has in common with Warfarin, whom he often comes to exchange knowledge with. And his 3-stars victory line has him asking you if he can conduct experiments on his enemies.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Outside of Hung and Wai Fuu, very few Rhodes Island staff actually like Aak, especially due to [[InsufferableGenius his condescending attitude to other doctors and people he considers less intelligent than himself]] (which is almost everybody). The only reason his presence is tolerated is that everybody acknowledges and respects his genuine medical skills.
* FriendlyFireproof: One of two operators (along with [[Characters/ArknightsMedics Warfarin]]) that subverts this trope, via the use of his second and third skills. Though in his defense, his skills do additionally provide significant buffs to his teammate, not just himself.
* HatesTheirParent: Aak has no love for his father, who was an infamous back alley doctor known for creating dangerous medicines that were essentially just poisons. Aak hates hates his father for both his criminal deeds as well as being the reason he is considered a target by Lungmen's mafias.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: While Aak despises the field of medicine, he by extension hates himself as well for continuing research in a field he dislikes. Rhodes Island has determined this stems from lingering negative associations with his father, as well as nobody up until now praising his work and talent as beneficial.
* ImageSong: “[[https://youtu.be/nDft12RXHqM Neon-lit Bustle]]”.
* JadedProfessional: His driving viewpoint in regards to medical practice as he doesn't regard himself as anywhere near saving lives with his work, he's merely just staving off death for his patients. One of his assistant lines has him comment that he can't stand professional doctors because there'll always be someone that they can't save and Aak has watched them break down time and time again.
* LifeDrain: This is one of several effects that can trigger when he attacks an enemy. Considering his constantly decaying HP, he'd need it.
* LightningBruiser: His third skill, '''Durian-Flavored Stimpack''', grants increased ASPD and ATK to him and his target ally for 20 seconds.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Despite his best efforts, Aak has turned out very similar to his father due to his innate medical genius.
* LivingOnBorrowedTime: Due to his gameplay trait, Aak's HP will constantly decay while he's on the field. Unless supplemented by other Medics, or Aak has enemies he can shoot to proc his LifeDrain, he can and will eventually expire without anyone doing anything to him. From a lore perspective, it is unknown what justifies this, especially since Aak is not Infected. It may be an example of ProfessorGuineaPig.
* MadScientist: His view on disregarding ethical experimentation is that it doesn't matter as long as people aren't caught in the act.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter:
** Despite being a Specialist, his skillset is not fitting in any of the other sub-classes of Specialist, instead being more inline with the skillset of a Supporter, with his attack range and overall stats being in-line to that of Marksman Snipers, albeit Aak having superior stats.
** Until the introduction of Spuria, he was the only operator to date whose HP slowly deteriorates over time due to a class trait and not a talent (such as Fiammetta).
** In regards to base skills, he is the first operator with a Training Room skill (that speeds up the training of a specific operator class) that does not match his own operator class; he is a Specialist, while his Training Room skill speeds up the training of a Medic operator. This is since he's actually a doctor, but he's put in Specialist role since Kal'tsit puts him in medical equipment testing department and engineering team instead of a physician or Oripathy researcher.
** He is the first Specialist operator that is restricted to being placed ''only'' on ranged tiles. Every other Specialists either can only be placed on ground tiles, or (in the case of Shift Specialists) both ground and ranged tiles. He would later be followed by the Trapmaster Specialists, another ranged tile-exclusive archetype.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: Despite his medical knowledge, his class is ''not'' Medic, for good reason. While he ''did'' make some extremely impressive medical breakthroughs, those were merely either side effects or experiments done to satisfy his curiosity than a desire to do good. While he does still save people with his medicine, Aak's flavor of it seems to stop at a patient being "not dead", rather than actually providing them with the care and comfort of actual doctors.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Aak is, for lack of a better word, much more "furry-like" than the usual Feline character. He doesn't look so much like a CatBoy with themed visual aspects, but more like a completely furred and bipedal humanoid feline.
* NotTheIntendedUse:
** Since Aak's second and third skill avert FriendlyFireproof, this can be used to help build up SP for an operator who gains SP from getting hit, like [[Characters/ArknightsDefenders Liskarm]]. And especially in Liskarm's case, due to how her Talent works, basically every time Aak uses his skill on her, she'll be handing out 15 SP to ''everybody'' within the four cardinal tiles to her at breakneck speed, allowing a crafty player to spam certain skills with impunity.
** He can forcefully retreat NPC operators if you want their occupied tiles for your operators instead, [[https://youtu.be/RvKPf9ZGTL8 as poor Suzuran can attest to]].
* OddFriendship: He's best buddies with fellow detective agency employees Hung and Waai Fu, especially the former, despite his moral ambiguity and their pure sense of righteousness.
* PerpetualSmiler: Aak is noted for his constant [[CheshireCatGrin shit-eating grin]] that makes him seem [[SlasherSmile even more deranged]] than he already is.
* RandomEffectSpell: As per his archetype, he has a talent that makes him do this; every attack he does will have one of the following effects: that attack deals more damage, stun the hit target, [[LifeDrain heal himself]] or slow the hit target. His X Module adds an additional chance to activate all of those effects at once, making him slightly more reliable seeing that other operators of this trope do suffer from its obviously random nature.
* SinsOfTheFather: His Operator Record reveals that his father was an infamous rogue doctor in Lungmen who used extremely dangerous medicines on his patients. Even though his father is long dead, Aak had to live in constant hiding from his father's many enemies who want to take revenge by proxy.
* StoneWall: His second skill, '''Type-γ Stimpack''', increases both his and the target ally's max HP and DEF for 30 seconds.
* SuperSerum: This is how his ''Burst stimulant'' works, [[CastFromHitpoints if its recipient is strong enough to sustain the damage from its injection]], [[TeamKiller otherwise, it's just a "force retreat" button]].
* SupportPartyMember: Due to his skillset, Aak performs best as this, [[MechanicallyUnusualFighter despite him being part of an overarching class that performs best independently]]. Whether he actually helps or inadvertently offs his own teammates is another thing, however, so even "support" should be placed in thick quotations.
* TeamKiller: He's almost infamous among the playerbase for this tendency, as mentioned under CastFromHitPoints.
* TotallyRadical: Aak speaks in an unusually casual, SurferDude-like manner. His English localization features with "dude" and "man" being spoken at least five times per sentence, along with prevalent use of slang and street lingo that would make him completely at home hanging out with Franchise/BillAndTed.
-->'''Aak:''' [Greeting] Hey, my dude. What's cookin'?
* TranquilizerDart: His weapon of choice is a mini dart gun. The sedative effects are demonstrated in two of the random effects that can occur when attacking an enemy: slowing or stunning the enemy for a few seconds.
* WorthyOpponent: Unsurprisingly, the only other doctor/scientist Aak considers his equal is Warfarin, who he usually challenges to duels.

An engineer from Blacksteel deployed to Rhodes Island's at her request, where she serves as an R&D consultant for Engineering.
----
* AfraidOfNeedles: Implied in one of her voice lines as she tries to work up the courage to take an injection.
* AnimalMotifs: Chihuaua, as seen in her Elite 2 art. This goes well with her breed's temper, especially if she is angered enough.
* BerserkButton: HR notes that operators shouldn't not go overboard with teasing her, since while Almond is normally good at bottling up her anger, when she lets it out, it tends to happen rather explosively.
--> '''Trust Tap''': No • touching • my '''[[SuddenlyShouting HEAD]]'''!
* GadgeteerGenius: She is one of the most talented engineers in both Blacksteel and Rhodes Island, quickly shooting up to the rank of Chief Technical Officer in Blacksteel in less than a year.
* LateCharacterSyndrome: In gameplay, because all of the other operators in her branch are easy to get - Rope is a 4-star who is nearly guaranteed with a Pull tag in Recruitment, Cliffheart is a welcome gift and both Snowsant and Gladiia are event freebies.
* MotorMouth: She's easily excitable and tends to talk a lot and very quickly, but surprisingly is still able to communicate her meanings clearly to whoever she is talking to.
* OddFriendship: She ended up becoming close friends with Jessica despite her being a extrovert and Jessica usually being a shy introvert. This occurred because Almond initially wasn't treated with much respect in Blacksteel until Jessica stepped forward to support her.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Subverted in the fact that Almond is always constantly in the search for money to fund her various projects and ideas that she comes up with. She initially joins Rhodes Island on Jessica's recommendation since RI would be more likely to approve her funding requests, and she consistently sends in the most funding requests every fiscal quarter.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: People who know Almond don't mind when she's constantly talking because that means everything is operating as normal. What scares them is when Almond ''stops'' talking, because that means she's encountered a problem that she can't immediately solve. And given Almond typically works in dangerous areas like Originium reactors and power plants, this definitely isn't a good sign.

A quiet, fearsome Sarkaz woman who has served Rhodes Island since its Babel days. A former mercenary who assisted Theresis, she had also been W's old boss.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: To [[spoiler:Manfred. She always beat him easily while sparring in their childhood, and even as adults Manfred still admits he's no match for her.]]
* AntiHero: Ascalon is loyal to Rhodes Island and formerly Babel but she is also a ruthless assassin who will kill anyone who threatens her side. [[spoiler:In ''Babel'' she killed Odda's father for working as a bounty hunter going after a Babel-aligned teacher and years later admits to feeling no remorse for it in front of Odda himself.]]
* ArchnemesisDad: About the best way to sum up her relationship to [[spoiler:Theresis]] nowadays, [[spoiler:she owes the world to both him and Theresa for raising her after finding her in the wake of a Catastrophe when she was young, but after Theresis orchestrated the death of his sister, Ascalon can only stand in opposition to him despite her mixed emotions on actually wanting to kill him.]]
* TheAtoner: Twofold. First, she used to serve Theresis's Military Commission as a mercenary, until she eventually grew disgusted and defected from his command [[HeelFaceTurn to side with Babel]]. Then, afterwards, she regrets not being at Theresa's side during the siege that cost her life, making an oath to Kal'tsit to help form S.W.E.E.P. to ensure nothing like it ever happens again, which is presumably why she has such [[CoolBigSis a close but defensive relationship]] with Amiya, [[spoiler:Theresa's successor to the throne.]]
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Ascalon has a long dagger mounted on her left wrist.
* BreakingOldTrends: She is the first Sarkaz Specialist operator in the game.
* ChainLethalityEnabler: Her second skill buffs her ATK and applies a passive movement slow to all enemies in her range, and each time she kills a grounded enemy, it inflicts a stack of her talent to all surrounding enemies.
* CoolBigSis: To younger Amiya back in Babel. [[spoiler:Considering Theresa was also her ParentalSubstitute, they practically are siblings in all but blood.]]
* DamageOverTime: Her first talent causes her to inflict a debuff on hit that slows targets and inflicts Arts damage per second scaling with her ATK, stacking up to three times.
* DefectorFromDecadence: She not only used to be Theresis' subordinate, but was also one of his students and learned much of her abilities directly from him. However, she eventually couldn't tolerate his inhumane methods and defected to Babel instead.
* TheDreaded:
** Her attitude is intimidating enough to keep ''W'' of all people on her toes throughout their conversation despite no longer being W's direct superior. [[spoiler:This may be because she's watching over W's movements in Victoria, and will put her in line with tough discipline if necessary]]. She's also responsible for detaining criminals in Babel/Rhodes Island's custody. It's no wonder she's the leader of S.W.E.E.P.
-->''W knows of this habit, in Ascalon's line of work. The rule is, each extra word makes your head hit the ground a little bit faster.''
** In Episode 10, [[spoiler:her mere appearance is enough to intimidate both W and Hoederer and make them stop fighting ''immediately''. Hoederer even acknowledges she can and will easily kill both of them if she wanted to.]]
** She is also this among the Military Commission, as she's powerful enough to be a legitimate threat to most of them. In fact, [[spoiler:The Sanguinarch, who's ''[[MightMakesRight colossal ego]]'' wouldn't dare acknowledge a lesser being with an iota of his attention ([[BeneathNotice as he does with W in the very same scene]]), instead gives Ascalon's presence a passing mention when she stands to oppose him alongside Logos which further compounds this fearsome reputation. Manfred later even makes it all the more clear that, given his past growing up with her as a sparring partner, he knows full well very few of their number—himself included—would be hopeless to stop her once she gets going.]]
* DrawAggro: In a contrast to how Ambushers typically have lowered taunt compared to other units, Ascalon's third skill raises her taunt by 2 levels to make her more likely to be attacked over her allies. To aid this, she inflicts an accuracy debuff on enemies in range that stacks with her innate evasion, on top of healing a small portion of her HP each time she successfully dodges an attack.
* EarlyBirdCameo: She speaks with W [[MyNameIsQuestionMarks as ???]] in "Vigilo" before her proper introduction in Episode 10.
* TheExecutioner: If Marco's reaction is anything to go by, her profession is heavily implied to be this to Babel.
-->'''Theresa:''' So, Scout, take him to see Ascalon.\
'''Theresa:''' Babel will decide your fate. Ascalon will decide your fate.\
'''Theresa:''' That you consider yourself a Sarkaz of Kazdel means you cannot leave.\
'''Sarkaz Traitor:''' —Your Majesty! You, you're putting me to death—?\
'''Theresa:''' ......
* HappilyAdopted: [[spoiler:She was a WildChild found coming out of a Catastrophe by Theresa and Theresis with limited speech ability and behavior similar to Projekt Red, and was raised by the siblings along with Manfred.]]
* HitmanWithAHeart: [[spoiler:Ascalon is an assassin who will remorselessly kill anyone who threatens Babel but when she attempts to assassinate Theresis and Manfred in Victoria she ultimately finds herself unwilling to do the job against either of them, owing to them effectively being her family. 178* InTheHood: She wears a hood as part of her outfit.
* ItsAllMyFault: Ascalon blames herself as part of the reason [[spoiler:Babel fell]], as the Doctor sent her away on a field mission prior to the events in "Babel" [[spoiler:that saw Theresa killed]]. Her creation of S.W.E.E.P. was to make sure the same event would not happen again with Rhodes Island's leadership.
* PromotedToPlayable: As of ''Babel''.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Her horns, tail and the demon aura in her Elite 2 art are purple, and she is a terrifyingly powerful combatant.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: That said, from what we see of her relationship as W's boss and [[CoolBigSis her involvement with Amiya]], she's surprisingly laidback in conversation for someone considered [[TheDreaded so fearsome]], [[spoiler:and even indirectly lets slip to W that Ines is alive and operating within Victoria to keep tabs on Theresis as so to encourage W to not only aid Rhodes Island on the mission to Londinium, but reunite with her original group and make a plan of action from there to stop Theresis's own plans.]]
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: She is named after the dragon-slaying lance of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_George Saint George]].
* TragicKeepsake: If the armblade she uses is the collectible "Avenger" in Integrated Strategies then it becomes this, since the blade was a gift from Theresis and Theresa for her inaugural mission in the Military Commission.

* UnseenNoMore: Her NPC art debuts in Episode 10.

One of Iris' acquaintances who wields unusual puppetry powers and helps her on her mission to maintain the Dreamscape Castle. Her puppet's name is Annie.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Sheep, as per her race. Two sheep skulls are also seen behind her and Annie in her E2 art.
** That said, she may have Dolly (the first cloned sheep) as an inspiration, since her talent allows her to be replaced by Annie (who is actually a ''doll''). Furthermore, the sheep in her E2 art are skulls as opposed to live ones.
* DeathOrGloryAttack: Both of her skills are detrimental to her HP. Whereas her first skill decreases her Max HP, the second one is an inverse LifeDrain where she will lose health per attack. This faciliates her talent mentioned below.
* TheDividual: Annie may be a sentient doll, but she is essentially part of Bena in both gameplay and scenes.
* EarlyBirdCameo: She first appears as Iris's acquaintance in Beyond Here, then makes her playable debut in Preluding Lights.
* LoopholeAbuse: Bena's clone Annie is different from Phantom's clone, and is treated like an operator who does not occupy a deployment slot nor has its own redeployment timer or Deployment Cost due to being linked to Bena herself. Notably, Annie is not a summon. This also allows her to be healed, which helps her endure on the field until Bena can switch back in.
* LoveImbuesLife: In Bena's Promotion file, an unnamed Medical operator speculates that Annie is the ultimate crystallization of Bena's Arts techniques, but later admits that they have no empirical evidence for it.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: When Bena takes lethal damage, instead of withdrawing from the battlefield, she is replaced by Annie, who can perform ranged Arts attacks but cannot block.

* ShearMenace: Uses giant scissors to attack.
* TemporaryOnlineContent: She is only available to obtain in the Preluding Lights event.

Youngest sister of the Silverash family and an avid mountain climber, who seeks to find a way to mend her estranged family.
----
* AnchorsAway: She uses a mini anchor like a grappling hook to pull enemies.
* AnimalMotifs: Snow leopard. Two of them can also be seen in her Elite 2 artwork.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Her second skill, '''Binding Chains''', is one of the very few skills that completely bypasses the target's DEF and RES.
* CustomUniformOfSexy: Her default outfit is this, consisting of a black tube top and an open, sleeveless jacket. It's noted as unusual for someone Infected like her to be so brazen about exposed skin as it would normally tip people off to her status, but she's managed to disguise her external signs of Infection as fashion accessories (it's cleverly hidden underneath the thigh band) so she can go about life normally. A mitigating factor is that Kjerag is comparatively lenient towards Infected, and she comes from a very important family.
* DeadlyScratch: Cliffheart received her Oripathy infection from a small puncture wound inflicted to her thigh by an Originium crystal during a climbing accident.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Matterhorn notes that every time he serves her a dish with peppers as an ingredient, she will always leave them untouched.
* ExposedToTheElements: Her outfit is fairly revealing, yet does not seem to be bothered at all wearing it while in the frigid cold of Kjerag.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Her left leg has a thigh band, while her right leg has a stocking.
* GenkiGirl: Cliffheart is fairly energetic and easygoing, compared to her demure sister Pramanix.
* ImprovisedWeapon: Her weapons are climbing tools, one of which is an anchor-shaped grappling hook.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Upon reaching Elite 1, Cliffheart gains the '''Karlan Hunter''' talent, which buffs her ATK and DEF by 6% (12% at Elite 2) if she's not blocking any enemies. Being a Shift-type operator, she can be deployed on both ground and ranged grids, but her talent works best when she's deployed on ranged grids and used as a pseudo-Sniper.
* PunnyName: Her codename is '''Cliff'''''heart'', and '''mountaineering''' is what she ''loves''. Her real name is a pun on ''Panthera uncia''.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: If her ''"Highland Visitor"'' skin is equipped, then [[https://gamepress.gg/arknights/sites/arknights/files/inline-images/ArtCliffheartSkinWWFGIF2.gif a tiny snow leopard cub]] will follow her around while in the base.
* StarterMon: She's a guaranteed 5-star operator for new players who maintained a consecutive 7-day login streak after creating their accounts.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The tomboy to Pramanix's girly.
* {{Troll}}: Her records note that she can be mischievous. But the inverse may also apply, as she can also expose other mischief-makers.

->''"Hello, I'm Dorothy, head of the Originium Art Section at Rhine Lab. Dr. Silence already introduced me? Then it saves both of us the formalities. Please, just call me Dorothy."''

The head of Rhine Lab's Originium Arts section, a scientific genius and idealistic dreamer who desires an equal world free of suffering, and will go to any lengths to achieve her vision.
----
* ActionInitiative: Once she's promoted to at least Elite 1, her first talent, in addition to being the generic Trapmaster talent that lets her use her traps, will also let her instantly deploy 1-2 traps randomly in her range upon deployment.
* AnimalMotifs: Jerboa. One made out of sand can be seen on her palm in her Elite 2 artwork.
* AntiArmor: Her first skill makes her traps reduce the target's DEF for a few seconds.
* AssimilationPlot: Her ultimate goal for much of "Dorothy's Vision" [[spoiler:is to create an Arts-science construct that will absorb and merge the minds of Columbia's Pioneers into a collective consciousess, sending them to an eternal dreamland where suffering and inequality doesn't exist while granting them all the ability to use Arts at equal capacity. After having the possibly devastating consequences of her work explained to her, as well as the true thoughts of her Pioneer volunteers, she willingly destroys her own creation at the end of the event.]]
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Is mentioned to be the youngest of the Rhine Lab section directors, and was notably the only named director one who wasn't already working for the company during their more humble days.
* CastingGag: Her English VA also voiced [[VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses someone else named Dorothy... or close to it.]]
* TheCameo: Her '''Hand of Destiny''' skin depicts Muelsyse, Silence and Ifrit as a party fighting off a dragon modeled after Saria.
* CleavageWindow: Her dark dress has a partially-unbuttoned cutaway in front that shows off her cleavage. It's more visible in her Elite 2 artwork.
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Crosses over with her GatheringSteam talent. As per her archetype, her base attack stat is rather mediocre, but she attacks fast and when one combines her talent with her module, she can reach a bonus of 40% ATK should she manage to get all her stacks.
* FashionableAsymmetry: All over in her '''Hand of Destiny''' skin: She wears stocking on her left leg and an anklet on her right leg, her veil is longer on the right to the point of touching the floor, and her dress has a long slit on the left.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Ferdinand. Both of them are Rhine Lab directors who are willing to skirt moral boundaries and go to often disturbing lengths for their ideals. However, Dorothy wants to eliminate the pain of journeying into the future so much that her idea of a dreamland amounts to an eternally unchanging present, while Ferdinand is so focused on journeying into the future that he neglects everything in the present instead. Although both of them were manipulative with the people around them to make them comply with their objectives, Dorothy still couldn't stand the idea of using unwilling test subjects, while Ferdinand was perfectly willing to sacrifice anyone for his goals. The PV in which she made her first appearance even described her as the total opposite of Ferdinand, so this is likely intentional.
** To Sesa. Both of them are known as genius scientists who have intentions to equalize Terra's society so that no one is held back by their inability to use Arts. Whereas Dorothy is an idealist and constructs the Hub with the sole idea of making everyone equal in a world without suffering, Sesa has the worldly experience and knows better than to go so far. The difference between Sesa and Dorothy is that Sesa, who is far more worldly and perceptive to [[CrapsackWorld just how hellish Terra truly is]] and the [[CorruptCorporateExecutive truly evil, greedy people]] it's bred, is immediately aware that, if his and his brother’s breakthrough of non-Arts reliant firearms were to become mainstream, it would only result in far more oppression and a far more unfair playing field, not an equalizer of power. In addition, both of their gameplay revolves around StuffBlowingUp on a delay, but Sesa directly lays fire upon his targets while Dorothy sets up minefields and waits for her targets to step into them.
* ForScience: Despite her altruistic goals and moral boundaries, she confides in the Doctor that she considers herself the same as all of the other Rhine Lab directors - willing to give everything to pursue a scientific dream.
-->'''Saria:''' I know people like her. Be careful. They're the kind of people who will do whatever it takes to achieve what they consider beautiful.
* GatheringSteam: Her second talent causes her to gain a small stackable ATK buff every time one of her traps goes off, stacking up to 10 times (12 with potentials).
* GuestStarPartyMember: She appears in [=DV-S-1=] and [=DV-S-2=] as a preplaced unit alongside Silence and Saria.
* ImageSong: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk38p6N92qg "Magic Theorem"]].
* JustThinkOfThePotential: Ironically for a relatively mad scientist, her inability to do so is one of her major flaws. She was so focused on the good her invention could bring, that she didn't think of why the military was backing a project that takes the form of an ultra-powerful, autonomous Arts unit.
* MirrorMatch: Dorothy is fought as an enemy in her titular event, and there's nothing stopping you from bringing your own Dorothy to fight and potentially defeat her.
* MissingMom: Her mother died in a Catastrophe that destroyed the Pioneer camp after Dorothy left to enroll in university.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:What ultimately gives her the last push to pull the plug on her collective consciousness project is the realization that although she's created a world without suffering or inequality, she's also [[FalseUtopia trapped the Pioneers in a stagnant, eternally unchanging dream where nobody can find any actual meaning in living.]] The revelation that the Pioneers are willing to face the harshness of reality just for a chance to achieve their dreams causes her to realize that she had taken away their futures just to impose her own idea of paradise onto them, and in the process had completely convinced herself that she was saving them.]]
* NotSoDifferentRemark: She repeatedly insists in her lines that she and the Doctor aren't so different, as they are both highly intelligent individuals who go to great lengths to help others. Given that ''Babel'' reveals [[spoiler:that the Doctor created Originium to enact an AssimilationPlot superficially similar to what Dorothy's own Transmitter experiments aimed to do, she's actually more right than she thinks.]]
* NotTheIntendedUse: While Dorothy's main form of offense is laying down traps, her fast attack speed and decent ATK stat lets her serve as a surprisingly good pseudo-Sniper, whose ATK can further be boosted by her second talent and her module. Because of this, she's also one of the best units to serve as fodder for [[Characters/ArknightsVanguardsAToM her fellow director Muelsyse's]] water clones.
* OptionalBoss: Her enemy appearance in "Dorothy's Vision" does not deduct life seals if allowed to enter the Protection Objective. In fact, one of the conditions to unlock [=DV-S-1=] is to complete DV-5 without defeating her, and one of the medals require the player to do the same for [=DV-EX-7=].
* PennyAmongDiamonds: "Dorothy's Vision" shows that Rhine Lab's Originium Arts section - and by extension, Dorothy herself - is very underfunded comparing to the other sections of Rhine Lab due to their lack of external sponsors, to the point that Dorothy is struggling to afford food.
* PovertyFood: A flashback in "Dorothy's Vision" shows her talking about eating plain rice for the rest of the month after secretly paying for a Pioneer's son's surgery and Astgenne refusing to lend her more lunch money.
* QuicksandSucks: Her second skill, '''Quicksand Generation''' binds enemies struck by her traps. The duration will be longer if it only binds one enemy.
* RedemptionDemotion: Stats aside, the playable Dorothy gains 2% ATK every time a trap goes off, which stacks up to 12 times for +24% ATK at max potentials. The Dorothy fought in her event gains a much higher 10% per trap, and can stack up to ''+500%'', although actually letting her set off that many traps is basically a loss anyways.
* SandBlaster: Dorothy's Originium Arts allows her to control sand via resonance; the explosions of her mines are sandy blasts, her Elite 2 art shows her in a small desert, and in "Dorothy's Vision" she is shown creating a barrier with sand. It is rather fitting since jerboas live in the desert. Her introductory banner is even called 'Pathfinder of Sands'.
* ShoutOut: Her name refers the main character of ''Literature/TheWonderfulWizardOfOz'', while her surname references its writer Frank L. Baum. The story is even referenced in [=DV-ST-2=] as a childhood tale Dorothy heard from her mother, as well as her Operator Record.
* SignificantReferenceDate: Although likely unintentional, the launch date of "Dorothy's Vision" on global and Japanese servers was March 14, 2023 a.k.a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_Day 2023's Pi Day]], fitting for a story featuring a scientific researcher as its main character.
* StuffBlowingUp: Her third skill causes her traps to explode into a cross-shaped blast which does Arts damage and slows the enemy. The explosions also detonate other traps in range, giving her the potential to cause catastrophic chain reactions if enough traps are set up in an area.
* SurvivorGuilt: Dorothy's mother and her entire Pioneer group were wiped out by a Catastrophe, with Dorothy only surviving because she happened to be away at a university summer camp. This had left Dorothy feeling guilty ever since, as she feels that she doesn't deserve to live when so many of her family had died while she survived by a complete stroke of luck.
* TokenGoodTeammate: While the Rhine Lab section directors tend to range from shady schemers to ruthlessly pragmatic {{Well Intentioned Extremist}}s, Dorothy, although a bit delusional and manipulative herself, likely has the strongest moral compass of the current directors, to the point where she cannot bear the thought of using unwilling test subjects. Notably, when presented with footage of Rosmontis' early life, despite her respect for Loken's work as a scientist all she can think of is wanting to give the poor girl a hug.
* UnwittingPawn: Was this to Rhine Lab Energy Section director Ferdinand Clooney in "Dorothy's Vision". [[spoiler:He intended to use the "Hub" - the mind-link network Dorothy created for her AssimilationPlot - as a superweapon by injecting innocent people with the 'Transmitter' to force them into joining the Hub.]]
* VibroWeapon: Her Arts allow her to manipulate vibrations, which she can use in conjunction with particles of sand to both protect herself as well as impair or outright disintegrate targets.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She simply wants happiness for everyone, but her scientific background and fear of painful journeys has greatly skewed her ideas of how to actually achieve that ideal, namely [[spoiler:creating a LotusEaterMachine that would connect everybody into a collective HiveMind]]. Even though Dorothy eventually realized the folly of that idea, Saria makes it a point to warn Rhodes Island that Dorothy is still an idealist willing to resort to any means to achieve her goals.
* WorkingClassHero: Dorothy came from a family of Pioneers, and as a result sympathizes a lot with them - as shown in her promise to ease their suffering in "Dorothy's Vision".

One of Executor's juniors from the Notarial Hall, he is on dispatch assignment to Rhodes Island.
----
* ApatheticCitizens: He admits he used to be one before meeting Cecelia, having taken life in Laterano for granted and never realizing how hard life could be in the outside world.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: His talent lets him ignore part of a heavier enemy's defenses.
* BackToBackBadasses: With Executor near the climax of "Guide Ahead" [[spoiler:fighting off Pathfinder goons trying to stop Cecelia from going to the bell tower.]]
* BadassBookworm: Has a book in his offhand which he pops open between shots.
* BadassInANiceSuit: His is a snappy number in dark greys and blues, and it's even more formal than Executor's coat.
* BeachEpisode: His '''Paper Wing''' skin trades his formal suit for a summer jacket, T-shirt and shorts, and replaces his coffee with a bento box.
* BigBrotherInstinct:
** In "Guide Ahead", he develops one for Cecelia and made a promise to protect her, respecting her wishes to see her deceased mother and [[spoiler:also accompany her to leave Laterano to search for her father at the end of the story]].
** He also goes out of his way to consult with the Rhodes Island teachers to learn how they work so [[spoiler:he can help educate Cecelia in the field while they search for her father.]]
* BlownAcrossTheRoom: Whatever he uses for ammunition, it has enough kick to let him knock hostiles back a significant distance, and even stun them - his first skill stuns enemies that get pushed into colliding with high ground tiles, while his second skill stuns enemies that get pushed into each other.
* DestructiveSaviour: He mentions that during his training evaluation, he accidentally collapsed several of the rooms in the building, which was how he got assigned to be a field executor rather than a civil one.
* FlowerMotifs: Lotus flowers in his '''Paper Wing''' skin. He is surrounded by them in the skin art, and the flower appears in his skill effects.
* FriendToAllChildren: His kindness to Cecelia manages to win her over even with the warning from her mother to not trust uniformed people. This applies to other children as one of his lines notes that the Medical Department at Rhodes Island often has him come over and read stories to kids.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: As a junior executor preferring to mediate conflict over using violence, Enforcer stands out as an utility Specialist with non-damaging skills comparing to his Notarial Hall seniors (Executor, Fiammetta and later Insider) who are all varying degrees of damage dealing units.
* OddFriendship: He actually ends up forming a rapport with Mudrock in his Operator Record, managing to convince her to help smuggle him and Cecelia into Kazdel to search for her the latter's father.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: He takes his working hours very seriously and never works a second more than he needs to, so it's very telling when he decides to go out of his way to protect Cecelia.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Enforcer has a few traits that make him unique among those of his archetype.
** Unlike other Push Strokers, Enforcer's second skill always pushes targets towards the direction he is facing rather than the direction he is attacking from, allowing him to push enemies through himself if needed.
** Enforcer is the only Push Stroker, and one of the only Operators period, whose offensive skills deal no damage. This allows him to push enemies with skills that activate on taking damage, such as Sarkaz Sentinels, without triggering them.
* MustHaveCaffeine: Is almost always seen with a black coffee in hand and is quite particular about its taste, though he's no less of a SweetTooth than any Sankta. His Rhodes Island medical file makes an off-hand comment that he needs to start drinking it in moderation, and his potential token is a can of sugar-free coffee.
* RogueDrone: He lost the ability for other Sankta to reciprocate his feelings, which implies a voluntary break from their emotional network. It's chalked up to him starting to think for himself as meeting Cecelia and Andoain have significantly expanded his worldview beyond his original views as an ordinary Sankta living his life in Laterano like so many others.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: He sports a long white one that contrasts with his dark suit.
* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: He wields a break-action shotgun.
* TheSlacker: Though he is a hard worker, he does show elements of this. He initially wanted to be a civil enforcer so he could get a cushy desk job. He always clocks out the moment his shift ends, takes every single break, and never takes any overtime.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Encountering Cecelia right after leaving the house at Pagus Stevonus completely messes with the Pathfinders' plan to bring the girl into their fold. Further attempts by Pathfinder members or Basilica officials to secure Cecelia grow his conviction that her desires should come first before either faction and he should help her fulfill them.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With his Sarkaz coworkers in Rhodes Island, to an extent. Generally, Rhodes Island's Sankta and Sarkaz employees avoid each other, but Enforcer goes out of his way to ask Sarkaz operators for information about Kazdel, with varying results.
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Whenever his job conflicts with his desire to take care of Cecelia, he ends up stuck trying to find a path that allows him to carry out his mission without abandoning her.
* {{Unishment}}: As punishment for disobeying orders to protect Cecelia, Yvangelista orders that Enforcer [[spoiler:be assigned as Cecelia's official guardian and is sent off to Rhodes Island.]] Of course, Enforcer is surprised at how light he got off.

A stealthy hooligan and a former member of Reunion who defected for personal reasons.
----
* AerithAndBob: He's definitely the Bob among the operators of Rhodes Island, who typically have unusual if not outright outlandish code names. And he's just... Ethan.
* AnimalMotifs: Chameleons, as indicated by his tail shape and a picture of one spray painted on the wall behind him in his Elite 2 artwork.
* CowardlyLion: He spent most of his life just spraying rebellious graffiti and running from authorities, dislikes combat, and his Rhodes Island assessment takes note that he isn't a brave man, yet after whatever made him left Reunion, he's now voluntarily joining battles and taking up presumably dangerous solo infiltration missions anyways.
* DefectorFromDecadence: He used to work for the Reunion Movement as an intelligence gatherer.
** Whatever happened there was apparently bad enough that the normally talkative Ethan is unwilling to talk about it beyond explaining that "even the little guy has a few tough spots.", and it convinced the non-combative and cowardly Savra to join the fight against Reunion. His bio doesn't directly give any details, but his promotion record states "His faith was shattered."
** He implies to his old ex-Reunion friend Kevin that the straw which broke the camel's back was an incident where Reunion dragged someone out of their home and beat them for no reason.
* FavorsForTheSexy: Despite being talkative and friendly, Ethan was initially offended when asked by Rhodes Island how his camouflage worked because divulging such things would put him at risk if his enemies found it out. He spilled everything about it after "a certain female Savra operator" asked.
* FoodAsBribe: According to his profile, much of Ethan's provided bio was gotten out of him by Rhodes Island bribing him with his favorite meal.
* ForeignQueasine: According to his bio, Ethan's favorite food is three-armed lizard, roasted with mushrooms and spices, and served with wine. [[CarnivoreConfusion And considering how Ethan is a Savra...]]
* {{Invisibility}}: His Savra tribe, being based on chameleons, are able to change their skin color to match their surroundings. Ethan is no different, but his Arts talent allows him to extend this camouflage to the objects he touches, most notably his clothing and gear. Even his deployment animation has him fading in from invisibility into position. He can't go truly invisible unlike Manticore, but it does provide the justification for his Stalker base evasion.
* ImageSong: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaOcSI6JaZ0 "Zone 10⁻⁸"]].
* InvisibleStreaker: As his Elite 2 CG shows, while Ethan can turn himself invisible, his outfit stays opaque and can be seen with the naked eye. It doesn't hamper his invisibility during gameplay, however.
* KillerYoYo: His metallic yo-yo gives him a fairly wide attack range and the ability to hit every enemy standing in it.
* KnightInSourArmour: He started off wanting to help the infected, but after several stints with various pro-infected organizations and especially after his time in Reunion, he started souring on all of it, and he initially joined Rhodes Island just for the good food. His promotion record states it's up to Rhodes Island to give him a new faith to believe in. Raising his trust high enough has him tell the Doctor he's starting to believe in the cause of helping the infected again.
* LizardFolk: He has the physical characteristics of his lizard-like Savra brethren.
* LovableRogue: He genuinely wants to help the infected, and he's a wise-cracking stealth prankster that steals peoples' snacks. In the various pro-infected institutions he belonged to, he was a non-combatant that sprayed graffiti to mock authorities. He only took up arms apparently after seeing how bad Reunion was, and even then despite his mid-battle wise-cracks, his bio notes that he has somber moments afterwards and clearly doesn't love war.
* MightyGlacier: Ethan deals a surprisingly high amount of damage with his yo-yo (especially with the extra [=DoT=] provided by his passive skill '''Fancy Maneuvers'''), and his trait if he somehow gets targeted means he can tank a good amount of damage, but he can't block any enemies and is fairly slow to attack.
* TheSneakyGuy: Befitting someone designed after chameleons, {{Invisibility}} is his hat, thus putting him in the same niche as Manticore. In his earlier days, Ethan would use his natural cloaking abilities to hide from hunters, and to play pranks on Reunion Wraiths when he was still with them. One of his voiced lines has him reading the Doctor's tactical plans over his shoulder and commenting on how effective said plans are.
* StatusEffects: The reason Ethan counts as a "Crowd-Control" operator is because of his '''Entwined''' talent, which has a 25% chance of binding any target he attacks for 2 seconds. His second skill '''Suspended Cross''' helps with this by increasing his ATK by 20%, and increasing the chance to trigger his talent to 1.5 times at Skill Level 1.
* TooHungryToBePolite: It's established in "Stories of Afternoon" that his ingrained habits of grabbing food whenever he can to sate his hunger is why he sneaks food from the table without washing his hands or using a utensil to eat it. Matterhorn reprimands him for not being hygienic, insisting that Ethan do more than just splash water on his hands for a second before chowing down. One of his voiced lines indicates that he has helped himself to some of the Doctor's snacks while camouflaged on at least one occasion.

A famous Lungmen action movie star and martial artist who lost her job after being Infected.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Her design and color scheme bring to mind pandas, especially with her sunglasses. You even see a panda in her Elite 2 art.
* BareFistedMonk: [=FEater=] is a master of Tie Yi Liu He Quan, the Universal Fist of the Iron Will, even before entering the film business. The effect is enhanced because of her PowerFists.
* BigEater: Exemplified with her third skin, Gourmet. [=FEater=] had a period of time where she would shoehorn banquet and feasting scenes into every film she did, no matter how appropriate, just for the chance to pig out. Her profile also outlines her fondness for Yan food and booze.
* BruceLeeClone: While downplayed compared to most, the inspiration is pretty clear. An action movie actress well-known for also being a true martial arts master who didn't need stunt doubles, until her career was ended by a sudden strike of illness (though fortunately, it was a lot less fatal than the real deal). Her skin gives up all subtlety and just gives her the famous yellow and black suit.
* CareerEndingInjury: Her oripathy forced to end her movie career. Doesn't stop her from pushing enemies off the roof using her kung fu, though.
* DoomedByCanon: Her operator record reads like a non-fatal version this. No matter what happens, the audience knows she is soon to be diagnosed with Oripathy and run out of the movie industry.
* FlashStep: Her dash during '''Collapsing Strike''' is so fast that she momentarily vanishes from view, and appropriately have a sound of camera flash comes with it.
* LightningBruiser: [=FEater=] has above average attack speed, and her talent also gives her a high chance of dodging physical attacks while dealing damage to all blocked enemies at the same time.
* MegatonPunch: How she qualifies as a Shift-type operator; her punches push around enemies (preferably to a DisneyVillainDeath off the edge and into a pit). This manifests in her skills too.
** '''Raging Iron Fist''' pushes enemies around slightly and slightly decreases their movement speed, and automatically applies on the next attack.
** '''Collapsing Strike''', disappears from sight, deals massive damage to a single target, pushes back everyone around the poor sod even further, and slows all the survivors.
* MsFanservice: As befitting a former movie star, she dresses in a fairly revealing qipao that emphasizes her legs and bust, making one of the more popular fanart targets despite a lack of any event or story appearances.
* ThePollyanna: Her aforementioned operator record outlines [=FEater=]'s luck pre-infection, where a business partner ran off with the funds for her next film. Despite this, she takes the time to talk down a thief that targeted a friend's cornerstore, feed him at Jaye's stand, and introduce the thief to an industry friend for gainful employment. She even comes out of this hopeful for her own ventures, and presently remains very friendly and approachable to other operators at Rhodes Island.
* PowerFists: She has a pair of gigantic metallic gauntlets that enhances the power of her blows. They're not as heavy as they look, according to one of her dialogue lines, but considering she's a martial artist master with years of experience...
* PluckyGirl: One of the most cheerful and optimistic members of Rhodes, it's hard to keep her down for more than five minutes. Even losing everything she worked for after getting infected only inspired her to find another way to spread joy around.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Up until the release of Weedy, [=FEater=] was the strongest Pusher in the game, bar none. With her S2 activated, her punches will send enemies flying with tremendous force, and with Angelina enabling her with her S3, [=FEater=] can quite literally punch some enemies across the playing field.
* PunnyName: The reason why the first two letters of her name are capitalized, is because an old Chinese name for the panda is 'the beast that eats iron', since pandas do lick iron pans when available, to take in extra iron (because bamboo is naturally low-resource food). Iron's scientific symbol is FE, hence [=FEater=].
** Doubles as an accidental/[[StealthPun stealth pun]] as it might also hint at "Feature" (film) and [=FEater=] is a movie star. This is, however, exclusive to the localizations, as her original Chinese name is unequivocally read as "Iron Eater."
* SignificantBirthDate: The panda Huan Huan was born on her birthday, who was lent to France.
* VSign: She does the Japanese variant in her initial artwork.
* WorthyOpponent: In her third conversation line, she notes that Beehunter is an opponent worth going all out against.

The nominal captain of the Abyssal Hunters and Rhodes' head of Aegir affairs.
----
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Lumen's monthly squad dialogue in "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor" revealed that [[spoiler:in the BadFuture timeline, Gladiia had succumbed to her Seaborn blood and was marked for destruction by Irene. Her own monthly squad dialogue however seems to hint that she regained her identity as an Abyssal Hunter Consul after Ishar-mla was defeated.]]
* AnimalMotifs: Swordfish, based on her name and overall appearance. Her hat is styled similarly to a swordfish's bill and fins, and her outfit's colors is a reference on the coloration found on swordfish. [[spoiler:Specter even calls her one upon regaining her sanity in "Under Tides".]]
* ApparentlyHumanMerfolk: {{Downplayed}} as she has PointyEars (which makes her look less human compared to most other sea creature-inspired operators) and scale-like features on her neck [[spoiler:(which is an early sign of her transformation into a Seaborn)]], but otherwise, she lacks any prominent animal features she's based on.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: There's a reason why she's one of the Abyssal Hunters' squad captains, and later, head of Rhodes Island's Aegir affairs made honorary military commander. [[spoiler:She also holds a certain amount of executive power in her hometown of Aegir too, being one of its technocrats and a pioneer in creating Abyssal Hunters.]]
* BrokenBird: For all her accomplishments and commendations during her lifetime, on top of her significant status on the Aegir government, she had her fair share of emotional baggage, from her resentment towards the ParentalNeglect she suffered from her mother, her regrets on things she was unable to achieve due to being chosen as an Abyssal Hunter, and her [[HeroicSelfDeprecation hatred towards her own Seaborn aspect]] that started to physically manifest.
* CombatStilettos: It's not shown on her artwork due to her feet being obscured, but [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mrfz/images/7/77/Hunter_x_Hunter.png/revision/latest?cb=20220504150629 her standoff with Ulpianus in "Stultifera Navis"]] reveals that she wears high heels.
* ContraltoOfStrength Has a deep voice to match her imposing figure and strength.
* CulturedBadass: Is more than capable of kicking major ass when needed. Also has an eye for art, listens to jazz, and is a really fine dancer to boot.
* {{Expy}}: When she was first revealed, fans are quick to point out her similarities with [[VideoGame/BloodBorne Lady Maria]].
* FamilyOfChoice: In her module's story, she chose to join the Abyssal Hunters to make her own family after she realized that her mother will never give her the light of day.
* FantasticRacism: She absolutely ''despises'' the Seaborn, treating them as a threat to be killed on sight unless there’s something to be gained by holding back. This wouldn’t be much of an issue, if not for the fact she seems to extend this policy to any Seaborn hybrids who aren’t Abyssal Hunters, like [[spoiler:Mizuki, as one of his operator records recounts Gladiia breaking into his room with the intent to murder him.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Her "Return" skin seems to indicate that at some point in the future, she will lead an army of Aegirian expatriates back to their homeland of Aegir.
* HealingFactor: The first part of her first talent '''Waves of Aegir''' grants this to Abyssal Hunter operators, including herself (1.5% HP regeneration on Elite 1, and 2.5% on Elite 2). [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration This talent stacks with Specter's self regeneration, a synergy reflecting how Gladiia used to be Specter's squad captain]].
* ImageSong: “[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmGVfjGs1y8 Voices]]”. Shares the theme with Skadi the Corrupting Heart.
* JackOfAllStats: She has above-average damage scaling on her skills, heals herself passively, can be deployed on low- and high-ground tiles, her second skill expands her attack range allowing her to serve as a pseudo-Lord Guard, and her third skill provides area of effect crowd control while dealing Arts damage, making her surprisingly versatile despite being a Specialist.
* LightningBruiser: She's an [[SuperSoldier Abyssal Hunter]] with an emphasis on speed, essentially making her this. Taken up a notch in gameplay if her module is upgraded to remove the Seaborn-only restriction on her talent, which turns all Abyssal Hunters on the field when she is deployed into this.
* MadeOfIron:
** She survived getting [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice gutted by a Seaborn]] '''and''' still remained strong enough to kill said Seaborn, and later fought an ''even bigger Seaborn'' alongside Skadi and Specter. The "Outstanding" rank for her endurance isn't just for show.
** In gameplay, she can cast this on herself along with all other Abyssal Hunters, by her upgraded module that removes the 'Seaborn enemy' restriction on her talent, granting a large reduction on virtually all damage she and her fellow Abyssal Hunters may receive.
* MakingASplash: Her normal attack and skills involve her manipulating water, with her third skill creating a whirlpool that pulls surrounding enemies.
* NukeEm: The end of "Under Tides" reveals that Gladiia's ultimate plan is to [[spoiler:kickstart a massive undersea volcano eruption to destroy the Seaborn threat once and for all.]]
* ParentalNeglect: She was born to two Aegir technology pioneers and was neglected by her workaholic mother.
* PrecisionFStrike: In the ending cutscene of ''Under Tides,'' she suddenly calls herself an "ugly bitch" in jarring contrast to her normally stoic and refined demeanor, [[spoiler:referring to her slow creeping transformation into a Seaborn.]]
* ProngsOfPoseidon: Wields a trident with a pronounced middle prong.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Like the other Abyssal Hunters before her (sans Andreana), her red eyes mean she's a force to be reckoned with.
* SituationalSword:
** The second part of her '''Waves of Aegir''' talent makes it such that Abyssal Hunter Operators take 15% (25% at Elite 2) less Physical ''and'' Arts damage overall from Seaborn enemies. Upgrading her module applies this damage reduction to ''all'' enemies.[[note]] with only three exceptions: the Deathless Black Snake (since all its attacks deal True damage), the Essence of Evolution (as its explosion deals True damage), and the cannon from chapter 10.[[/note]]
** Being a Control Center Operator in the RIIC, she has skills that revolve around Abyssal Hunter Operators.
*** Her first RIIC skill '''Tide Observation''' makes it such that every Abyssal Hunter currently not assigned to a Dorm will consume her Morale by .5 per hour; otherwise, she restores her own Morale by .5 per hour, with an additional .5 for every Abyssal Hunter operator in the Dormitory with full Morale.
*** At Elite 2, she gains '''Group Hunting α''' which makes it such that if she's in the Control Center, she increases the Morale of all operators in there with her by .5 Morale per hour; Abyssal Hunter operators in factories on the other hand, gain special bonuses[[note]]Abyssal Hunter operators add 5% productivity for every Factory with an Abyssal Hunter operator stationed inside for up to 45% productivity for a single Factory[[/note]], and it has special interactions with certain skills[[note]]This skill takes priority over '''Cooperative Will''', and will not stack with '''Automation α''', '''Automation β''', or '''Bionic Seadragon''' and the "set to 0" effect will take priority[[/note]].
* SocialDarwinism: She doesn’t seem to hold to this philosophy herself, but it’s represented mechanically in her Elite 2 talent '''Survival of the Fittest''' wherein her ATK gets boosted to 130% whenever she attacks an enemy with 3 or less weight.
* SoleSurvivor: Her monthly squad dialogue in "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor" reveals that [[spoiler:after Ishar-mla died and she regained her sanity, she is the last living Consul after Ulpianus sacrificed his life to save her.]]
* SourSupporter: As [[spoiler:a member of a HigherTechSpecies who's been facing [[EldritchOceanAbyss threats under the sea]] said to be far more dangerous than what's shown in Terra so far]], she understandably has several reservations about Rhodes Island. Despite that, she still works for Rhodes, and increasing her trust reveals that she eventually grew to consider the Doctor as her ally and will watch them in hopes of them getting stronger.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Beneath her cold and distant demeanor lies a fiercely protective instinct towards Specter and Skadi, especially towards the former as both of them were in the same squad, and some of Gladiia's warmer moments can be attributed on her interactions with Specter. She also holds a certain amount of respect towards Kal'tsit, acknowledging her as someone who knows what she's doing.
* SuperSpeed: Said to move faster than a crossbow bolt, and [[SpeedBlitz can kill someone before they could even hear her speak]]. She's especially known for being the only operator whose mobility is ''[[ReadingsAreOffTheScale off the charts]]'', similar to Skadi's physical strength and Amiya's Originium Arts assimilation.
* StatuesqueStunner: The third tallest female operator to date, standing at 181 cm tall.
* TemporaryOnlineContent: She is the welfare operator of "Under Tides", and started the trend of anniversary event welfares being 6-star rarity - as seen with Lumen from "Stultifera Navis" and Vigil from "Il Siracusano".
* WellDoneSonGuy: Her module's story shows that Gladiia became a Technology Consul of Aegir in the hopes of getting recognition from her mother - to no avail.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: [[spoiler:Voluntarily so at the end of "Stultifera Navis" as, despite the want of the three Hunters to return home to Aegir, Gladiia realizes Skadi is unknowingly [[SealedEvilInACan harboring]] [[EldritchAbomination Ishar-mla]] and to knowing [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt the consequences]] therefore of allowing her to remain in the sea has her sacrifice their chance to return home to safeguard both the world and Skadi.]]
* YourDaysAreNumbered:
** [[spoiler:The Under Tides event and her records reveal that she's slowly transforming into a Seaborn. Her primary concern is [[SequelHook finding the lost golden ship of Iberia]], and later, finding a way to Aegir, before her transformation to close off some unfinished business.]]
** [[spoiler: This comes true in Lumen's Monthly Squad Record, where Irene and Lumen discuss on the Seaborn target they're hunting with the code name: Gla-dia.]]

She was introduced to Rhodes Island as a Campaign Knight tasked to protect the Doctor as a bodyguard while in Kazimierz on business during the events of "Near Light", and when Rhodes Island moved out from Kazimierz to attend to other business, she followed and signed on as an operator.
----
* AnimalMotifs: While her skills suggest a rat motif, the illusory animals that appear around her in her Elite 2 CG seem to resemble [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prairie_dog prairie dogs]], specifically black-tailed prairie dogs due to the dark tufts of fur on her tail. Not to mention, her habit of kissing the people she's close to upon meeting them is a one-to-one reference to the same social behavior seen in prairie dogs.
* BarcodeTattoo: Has one on her right shoulder, a reminder of her time as a Kazimierz slave.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: It's strongly hinted that Gravel's attachment to the Doctor came about because they were the first person to actually treat her with any kind of personal decency, after being utterly broken by her former slave life. Her many Trust lines show how she progressively opens up more and more to the Doctor as their relationship improves.
* BoringButPractical: While Gravel lacks the flair and gimmicks of her rarer counterparts, what she ''does'' have is an extremely spammable kit that allows her to stall enemies with ease. Whereas Projekt Red, Waai Fu, or even Phantom for that matter, are typically deployed offensively and only for a short duration (sometimes as short as one second), Gravel boasts an extremely strong DeflectorShield that allows her to eat a lot of damage that would have been landed on your squishier damage dealers, or stall specific enemies to reduce pressure on your backline. Being a 4-star operator is a blessing in disguise, since that makes her significantly easier and cost-effective to raise and promote, and in specific cases like Contingency Contract, Gravel will outperform Red and Waai Fu 9 times out of 10.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Between her appearance, [[ClingyJealousGirl typical behavior]], fighting style, and specialty in covert ops, most people wouldn't believe she's a knight at first glance. At least it's justified in-universe that her title of "knight" is less of a noble status, but more of a job position and rank, due to the Knights of Kazimierz's reformation into a StateSec SecretPolice organization.
* ClingyJealousGirl: To the Doctor, big time. Almost all of her lines has her flirting with the Doctor or expressing affection to them. It's heavily implied that the reason she transferred to Rhodes Island is simply so that she can be the Doctor's personal bodyguard.
* CombatPragmatist: Her dream in her Operator Record shows that she's willing to resort to ambush tactics to prevail in a fight, and the people in her dream comment that she fights rather more like an assassin than a knight because of this.
* ComMon: She's currently this for her class. Due to Specialists all being rarer than 3 stars, Gravel is the absolute minimum one can get by setting Fast Redeployment as a parameter when scouting for new recruits. Only Shaw and Rope are about as common as she is, and they both share the Shift tag.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Her "Fast-Redeploy" trait is her redeeming factor, as she costs 6 Deployment points but only take 16 seconds to be redeployed again. Her two skills are both passive abilities that immediately boost her defenses once she's deployed, but they last only for a few seconds and [[ItOnlyWorksOnce only work once]] per deployment. With all these traits, Gravel is mostly used as a quick emergency barricade to stall enemies at a low cost.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: In her backstory, which is elaborated in her Operator Record, when she was younger and more innocent, she was lured with the promise of becoming a knight out of her village, only to be branded as a chattel slave. It's how she got that barcode on her shoulder.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Gravel's main role in Rhodes Island is to be the Doctor's bodyguard, and this translates directly into the game with her fast redeploy and defensive skills allowing her to be rapidly deployed and [[TakingTheBullet take hits that would otherwise be lethal to other Operators]].
* HumanShield: This is her one and only job, due to her StoneWall-grade defenses and fast redeployment. In the current meta, Gravel is usually brought to a map where one is expecting a lot of damage at once that they can't afford to let their defensive line take, such as later Annihilation stages, or when fighting bosses with absurd levels of stuns and[=/=]or burst damage (e.g. Faust and Mudrock, respectively) that would have been devastating if inflicted upon a keystone Defender or Guard. Even on the off chance that she's not deployed to [[TakingTheBullet take a hit]] for someone else, her tanky nature means she would still be placed to stall a particularly strong enemy that your regular operators could not.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: Implied, due to how quickly Gravel opens up to and becomes attached to the Doctor simply because they were kind and caring towards her. Given her old life as a slave growing up in the oppressive regime that is Kazimierz, it's not hard to see why.
* IOweYouMyLife: Gravel had sworn an oath to be the Doctor's personal bodyguard [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe out of gratitude for their kindness towards her]].
-->'''Gravel:''' It's been a while since anyone was this kind to me, after I turned up in Kazimierz. So... if you'll have me, Doctor... On my honor as a knight, I, Gravel—I mean, Senomy, shall serve you always at your side.
* LogoJoke: The symbol of her second skill "Rat swarm" is more reminiscent to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8Kyi0WNg40 this marmot]] than an actual rat.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Gravel is one of two Operators in the game (the other being Beehunter) whose attacks hit twice by default without it being specified in her trait or skill description, like it would be for a Swordmaster Guard. Unlike a Swordmaster Guard, she doesn't actually lose out on any damage because of this, as although each hit only has halved ATK, they also ignore half of enemy DEF by default, making her damage output functionally exactly the same as it would have been with a single hit. This is normally irrelevant as it doesn't actually change her damage output [[StoneWall (and you wouldn't be using Gravel for damage anyways)]], but it does come into play when it comes to buffs that make her apply on-hit effects, or mechanics that specifically track a ''number of hits taken'' instead of an amount of damage.
* PsychoKnifeNut: She wields [[DualWield a pair]] of long knives, and she appears to be just a ''little'' bit obsessed with the Doctor. One of her victory quotes has her muse that her knife blades have yet to be stained crimson (with blood).
* RagsToRoyalty: Downplayed as she's still a level-4 Knight of Kazimierz, which is barely in the middle of the hierarchy, but she was once a chattel before being elevated to that level. Also subverted in that being a "Knight" these days is more of a profession than a title of nobility.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes glow red when she gets serious in battle.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Her operator record implies that after she was granted her freedom, she spent some time scouring the Kazimierz countryside hunting down slavers.
* ShipTease: Gravel is one of the few operators that very openly shows her affection for you, the Doctor. Her voiced onboarding line has her ''kiss'' you, and by the time you promote her to Elite 2 and unlock her Operator Record, she's gotten used to napping beside you in your office. Furthermore, when you top off her Trust in you, her final voiced Trust line has her reveal to you her true name, something she only does for people she truly cares for.
* SituationalSword: Her module adds a new talent '''Battlefield Vassal''', which reduces the redeployment time of Kazimierz operators that are on cooldown by 5 seconds when maxed out. Very useful to get Kazimierz operators back into the field after they died or are retreated (most notably with Nearl the Radiant Knight's second skill, as Gravel also counts as a Kazimierz operator to prevent the increased redeployment time caused by the skill's demerit), useless otherwise.
* StoneWall: Despite her mediocre health at a glance, Gravel is surprisingly durable given her high DEF, talent, trust HP bonus, and the extreme stalling utility of her S2. While it is active, Gravel puts up a decaying DeflectorShield that blocks up to 2.5x of her max HP in damage before breaking, effectively giving her about 3.5x her normal health when deployed, allowing her to be quickly plopped down to take a strong hit meant for someone else, and then packing up to do that again later on. A reasonably-upgraded Gravel can survive ''five'' Bombtails launching their payloads at her at once and still have more shield to tank some more, so long as the enemy doesn't bring out Casters, since she has no defense against Arts.
* TakingTheBullet: When she's assigned to be the Doctor's bodyguard in "Near Light", Gravel states that the Doctor's safety is her ultimate priority, up to and including taking any attacks meant for the Doctor.
* {{Yandere}}: {{Subverted}}. Your first impression of her and her dialogue might be of this but fortunately as the archive shows that she is perfectly sane. She's just a very upfront person about her feelings towards Doctor.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: Her sore point is shown in her Operator Record, where her dream haunts her with the fact that she can't remember where her home village is in Kazimierz. She's grateful that Rhodes Island is willing to lend her some support to help her find her village and her parents.

A Lungmen fishmonger with a fearsome reputation despite his placid nature. With Captain Hoshiguma's recommendation, he'll put his knives to work for Rhodes Island, both in the kitchen and on the battlefield.
----
* AchillesHeel:
** As Jaye's self-heal strength is dependent on the amount of damage he can deal, his viability drops like a rock when faced with high-DEF opponents, who will reduce his ATK output to ScratchDamage levels, and his LifeDrain by extension.
** Considering that Jaye consumes 3 DP for every three seconds of him being on the field, this pretty much counteracts the natural DP generation rate on a typical stage, making it nigh-impossible to push out operators or deploy summons without also having Vanguards on the field to hold his hand. On maps with stunted DP generation rates, Jaye becomes a liability because of this special quirk, as he will just eventually fizzle out on his own after bleeding your DP stock dry. If he starts needlessly guzzling DP, this is a sign he should be retreated much like Fast-Redeploy Specialists with skills that wear off. However, with his module this is alleviated as he will now drain 2 instead of 3 DP with it, meaning that in practice you'll be working with the lowest-ranking DP Down risk.
* AnimalMotifs: Polar bears.
* BladeEnthusiast: Befitting his side gig, Jaye carries upwards of four different knives with him, which can be seen in his Elite 2 CG.
* BusmansVocabulary: His battle quotes have him calling out the different stages of preparing a fish to be eaten.
* ChefOfIron: Jaye's other job is the in-universe equivalent of a fishmonger and sushi chef. And just like that job in reality, he requires sharp knives to perform his craft, ''lots of'' sharp knives. He even brings his shop banner and crates of fish on ice into the fight.
* DramaticIrony: He doesn't realise that his boss's friend and benefactor [[Characters/ArknightsNationsLToS Lin Kojui]] is secretly TheDon of Lungmen's criminal underworld. As much as he may insist otherwise, the people assuming he must have criminal ties are more on the mark than he knows.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He was first seen as an NPC during ''Code of Brawl'', being dragged into the event with Waai Fu, where he's known as Fillet, but was not introduced as a playable character until much later.
* FaceOfAThug: Because of his "Resting Triad Face" and skill with a knife, in addition to the Lungmen fish market's reputation as a hotbed for gang activity, pretty much everyone who meets him assumes he must be a violent criminal at first. In fact, when Hoshiguma brought him to Rhodes Island many of the operators were initially worried she was trying to dump one of her underworld contacts on them.
* HyperactiveMetabolism: His S2 has him hitting an enemy and then throwing what appears to be a fishball at the nearest hurt ally, who instantly gain the health benefits of their snack. It doesn't even matter what kind of enemy he hits, however, which can sometimes result in the unsettling image of Jaye gutting a humanoid enemy and feeding their flesh to his teammates.
* LifeDrain: At Mastery 3, his second skill will heal him or a nearby ally for half of the damage he deals. While this already sounds decent on paper, the other factors is where it gets strong - the skill takes very little SP (even at its base level, it takes just 12 SP, which becomes 8 when fully mastered), has an infinite duration, and thus counts for ''every hit'' Jaye lands on an enemy after it activates. And with his fast ASPD, he can quickly heal himself or an ally back from low health faster than dedicated Medics as long as there's something for him to wail on.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Jaye is the newest wildcard in the Fast-Redeploy group, boasting the same reduced timer as his fellows, but doesn't return any DP when he's retreated. In fact, Jaye will also periodically ''consume'' some DP while he's on the field, and will automatically retreat if he doesn't have any more to burn. The upside to this is that, despite being a Fast-Redeployer, Jaye has no self-decaying buffs or on-deploy bursts that would necessitate him being retreated constantly, and actually has considerable staying value due to the nature and infinite duration of his skills. If anything, he behaves much more like a very low-rent Enmity Guard after he's managed to hit his stride and activate his S2, and with sufficient leveling, he can effortlessly make sashimi out of stronger bosses, [[https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1x541187EA like Pompeii]].
* MistakenForSpies: In his Operator Record, a pair of gangsters mistake him and Waai Fu for high-ranking members of a rival gang, and kidnap him to use as leverage in a hostage exchange. After escaping them, he's mistaken for one of ''that'' gang's assassins by the aforementioned rivals and attacked. He's able to use this to his advantage, however; playing along with their assumptions and tricking both sides into walking straight into an L.G.D. ambush.
* MovesetClone: He plays similarly to Skadi and Hellagur, to the point that he's mostly replaced them in their roles. Like them, he's mainly helidropped [[note]] Helidropping being the practice of deploying and quickly retreating the operator after their job is done [[/note]] to deal with leaks or a particularly tough enemy, since his self-sustain makes for an operator not that hard to handle. This way of playing suits him since he has only 1 block, (making it so that he's not particularly cut out for holding lanes), and his DP-draining trait isn't handy in all situations. His archetype making this process much easier with a low DP Cost and a quickly reloading redeployment timer combined with his low rarity that equals an ease in getting and raising makes for the aforementioned replacing effect.
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: Each episode of ''Lee's Detective Agency: A Day in Lungmen'' sees him working a different part-time job, typically in a brief OnceAnEpisode role. According to him, it's because he's trying to save up enough money to buy his own house, and isn't making enough from Tung's finball stall alone.
* OrwellianRetcon: When he made his debut in Code of Brawl, the English localisation translated his name as "Fillet", but once he was inducted as an operator they switched to using the more accurate "Jaye". Following this, a patch was released that quietly changed his name in the Code of Brawl cutscene archives for the sake of keeping things consistent.
* PowerupLetdown: Jaye is one of the few operator so far to become objectively ''worse'' at a certain aspect when promoted. As a base slave, his default [=RIIC=] skill, '''Street Vendor''', is incredibly powerful when combo'd with operators who greatly boost the order limit cap at Trading Posts, especially when the current queue is empty. At Elite 1, he gains a second skill, '''Way of the Marketplace''', which ''decreases'' the order limit if his trading post partners are providing an efficiency boost, but increases this efficiency for himself by 4% per unclaimed order, making it so that both of them work against each other and reducing his effectiveness in the base. This is a non-issue if the player isn't planning on using him as a base unit, however, in which case the efficiency ding becomes moot.
** NotCompletelyUseless: However, he was later thrown a bone with the introduction of [[Characters/ArknightsSupportersAToM Gnosis]], whose own base skill '''Precise Calculations''' gave a large order limit bonus to any Karlan-aligned Operator assigned to a Trading Post at the cost of lowering their efficiency. This finally gave '''Way of the Marketplace''' a situation in which it was useful, as its effects became much more helpful with Gnosis negating the drawbacks.
* PowerNullifier: His S1 lets him seal the abilities of whatever he hits for one second by default, upgraded to two with Mastery training. And considering how his own attack interval is exactly one second too, anything he hits with this skill active will be pretty much indefinitely silenced.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: From ''Code of Brawl,'' after a whole day of being mistaken for a criminal by everyone he met:
-->'''Capone:''' Hey, I remember you. I met you before. You dressed up like a seafood salesman. Played like you were making finballs. Funny. I never thought I'd have to give you a second look.
-->'''Jaye:''' No, I really am a... never mind. [[ThenLetMeBeEvil Right now, just for tonight, I am what you think I am]].
* SituationalSword: An interesting case. The game makes him out to be only cut out for handling exploding spiders, with his first skill that silences enemies he hits, his talent, and the mission for his module that involves him (and only him) cutting down exploding spiders in stages. In practice though, he's so versatile that handling exploding spiders is merely one of his uses.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: In his idle animation while stationed in the base, he can barely keep his eyes open and looks as if he's about to doze off at any moment. Ironically, if he's in a dorm and goes to bed, Jaye ''doesn't'' doze off, instead just lying there looking bored (or possibly [[TheInsomniac insomniac]]).

A cheeky, pint-sized Columbian who was involved in gang activity before being found and recruited by Silence. She served as her spy during the Mansfield Break incident.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Jackdaws. Her codename even translates into "jackdaw" in Czech. A two-headed one also appears in her E2 art.
* DefrostingIceQueen: By the time of her second promotion, her nice girl act becomes less of an act and more genuine as she begins to settle into Rhodes Island and grow more comfortable with trusting others.
* ForcedSleep: Her first skill temporarily puts surrounding enemies to sleep, being one of the few operators alongside Iris, Sora, Blacknight, Erato and Blemishine who can do this. Afterwards, she will rudely awaken them with an Arts damage burst, also similar to Iris.
* HeightAngst: Kafka is very touchy abot her short stature. Mentioning it is a great way to anger her.
* ItAmusedMe: Part of the reason she was so willing to go into Mansfield State Prison to break out Mountain was that she wanted to experience life inside a prison.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter:
** Kafka's trait causes her to be less likely to be targeted by enemies and reduce her block to 0. This is to support her skills, all of which deal Arts damage after a certain duration (i.e., her trait protects her from dying in the middle of her skill).
** Her second skill works on a range that's ''exactly'' three tiles away from her, [[https://youtu.be/D2ATRMeh0mw?t=44 which can be awkward]].
** She is the first Executor Specialist who is capable of dealing Arts damage (not by her regular attack, but via her skills). Texas the Omertosa and Kirin R Yato would later also follow suit.
** Kafka has the unique distinction of being the only Operator who is debatably better when kept at Elite 0 to keep her DP cost low, due to her sleep duration on her first skill, which is generally her preferred skill, remaining the same across all levels (the only thing that the levels improve is the burst of damage at the end, whereas those using her for the sleep will not be needing the burst). This means she can perform her role as a sleep-inducer just as well straight from level 1, if not better, as she would if fully leveled. Her module is also not necessary, since it only increases her ATK.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: The note about her AnimalMotifs aside, she shares a name with writer Creator/FranzKafka, and many of her details are references to aspects of the writer's life:
** His father used the image of a jackdaw as a logo for his fashion retailer business.
** [[https://www.vitalis-verlag.com/en/topics/kafkas-world/kafka-als-gaertner/ Gardening was a known hobby of his.]]
** ''Amerika'', his incomplete first novel, centers on the protagonist's adventures in a fictionalized version of the United States.
** His works are famous for their absurdist and surrealist themes.
** His works also commonly mention shears and scissors.
* OddFriendship: With Silence, of all people. Despite being polar opposites in terms of personality, they somehow ended up befriending each other during a chance encounter on one of Silence's research expeditions.
* PressGanged: Technically, Silence only forced Kafka to join Rhodes Island as a patient after finding out Kafka was Infected; her Onboarding line implies the Doctor recruited her personally, and in front of other people.
* ShearMenace: Her second skill has her use a pair of shears to deal Arts damage from afar.
* StepfordSmiler: The good-natured smile she commonly sports is simply a mask she puts up to hide her true nature as a shrewd gang member. It was a survival tactic she learned while living in her city's crime-infested gray zone to keep her distance from others.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Kafka refers to herself like this.

A former shinobi working as a mailwoman from Higashi, now joins Rhodes Island as an intelligent officer following dispute between her and new head from her previous company.
----
* AlmightyJanitor: Her current role is infiltrating the Caladon City government as a simple archivist. While the position is fairly low ranking, this gives her unlimited access to the Caladon City archives, and allows her to sit in on the normally secretive city council meetings so she can easily spy on the council members' latest plans and in some cases covertly thwart them if she feels the need to.
* AnimalMotifs: Cats, as per her race. Her origami dolls are also cat-themed.
* CastFromHitPoints: Both of her skills take a percentage of her current HP when activated.
* ChildSoldier: She started training as a shinboi at the age of five.

* EarlyBirdCameo: She first appears as an NPC in "A Light Spark in Darkness", then makes her playable debut in "Guiding Ahead".
* TheFashionista: Despite being a shinobi, she has a taste for fashion as well and can often be seen wearing cute and trendy outfits.
* FriendToAllChildren: She is extremely popular among the children living on Rhodes Island due to her ability to manipulate paper and she's more than happy to indulge their requests.
* GenderBlenderName: Unless affixed to the name of a Japanese ship, the "-maru" suffix in her name is normally attached to Japanese boys.
* GoalInLife: While she previously simply worked as a shinobi solely to fulfill her lord's orders, working for Rhodes Island gradually opened her up to the circumstances the Infected face, and she has now become an avid activist for Infected rights.
* HighlyVisibleNinja: Her base art has her wearing bright yellow and white. Her E2 art shows her as a more traditional ninja, although even there she has her face uncovered along with some skin and hair flowing freely.
* ImposterForgotOneDetail: Despite Kazemaru's doppelgangers looking exactly like her, they have one detail that makes them easy to spot: their tails look like they're made of folded paper.
* MasterOfDisguise: Her dialog suggests she knows how to dress for a particular location to blend in. Which is helpful as an intel gatherer.
* MeaningfulName: As described in GenderBlenderName, her codename is the masculine form for "Wind".
* TheMole: As part of Rhodes Island's Intelligence division, this is essentially her job. Her first appearance is working as clerk in Caladon's city archives so she can secretly funnel information to Rhodes Island.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Most of the children on Rhodes Island believe that Kazemaru isn't much older than they are.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: In her Operator Record, while Kazemaru is reminded by Bitter Root that her job is to merely spy on the Caladon City Council and not do anything to influence their decision making, she feels the need to intervene and scare one of the council members into scrapping his plans to exploit the Infected. Bitter Root suspects Kazemaru's involvement but decides not to press the issue.
* SelfDuplication: She can create an origami duplicate of herself which is almost indistinguishable from her real body.
* ThrillSeeker: When the clan she was sworn to transitioned to a legitimate business that didn't really need skilled shinobi anymore, Kazemaru grew increasingly bored and frustrated with the corporate grind and eventually left the clan for Rhodes Island, where her skills could be better employed in the field.

A shut-in girl from Higashi who devotes herself to video games.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Mimic octopus. Like the other cephalopod-inspired [[ApparentlyHumanMerfolk Aegirs]], Deepcolor and Andreana, Kirara has her associated animal traits in the form of her tail tentacles and the top of her hair forming "horns" like her inspiration.
* GamerChick: Is obsessed with video games and writes hardcore gaming guides, to the point where she regularly neglects her own health to continue playing. Her in-game lines also refer to everyday things as if they were elements in a game.
* HealingFactor: Starting from Elite 1, she'll passively regenerate a percent of her max HP every second, [[IWorkAlone which doubles if she doesn't have any friendlies in the surrounding tiles]].
* HiddenDepths: Kirara's extreme shut-in nature and active effort to avoid interacting with other people stems from her previously being bullied for her introverted nature and strange hobbies, causing her to believe that showing her true self to people is just inviting them to harass her. Fortunately, she seems to be growing out of that mindset a little with her time at Rhodes Island.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: She's the only Stalker Specialist that [[NonIndicativeName lacks any kind of crowd-control whatsoever]], but trades it for a self-sustaining ability. Her skills are geared towards DPS rather than crowd-control, making her niche slightly different as she is able to deal damage without being babysat by a Medic.
* OddFriendship: With Utage, who is basically her polar opposite in every way. They started out as simple classmates, but it was Utage who suggested Kirara come to Rhodes Island for treatment, and after they both became Operators, they were placed on the same team and are regularly seen [[ThoseTwoGuys hanging out together]].
* TheShutIn: She stays cooped up in her room all day and only ever goes outside when she absolutely has to. She even prefers talking to people using text messages instead of verbal communication. Sort of referenced in her '''Lonesome Protector''' talent, which requires her to have no allies standing next to her.
* StealthyCephalopod: As she's based on the mimic octopus, she implicitly invokes this image by hiding in stealth and being less of a target to enemies.
* TheStrategist: Her long experience playing strategy games has actual made her a very effective real life strategist to the point where she even catches the Doctor's eye. This is demonstrated in her Operator Record where she uses her planning skills to thwart a group of bandits despite her own squad being heavily outnumbered and at a huge disadvantage.

An alternate version of [[Characters/ArknightsVanguardsNToZ Yato]] who received a set of Felyne-made Kirin armor and dual blades after encountering a [[VideoGame/MonsterHunter Rathalos]] for the first time at Roka Village.
----
* AllForNothing: In "A Flurry to the Flame", she mentions that [[spoiler:the mother and child she and Noir Corne abandoned their clans for would be killed by another assassin that came after them, implying this.]]
* BladeSpam: Across all her skills, Yato deals as many hits as she possibly can in a tiny window of time before she gets retreated to do it again.
* TheCameo: A [[https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Kirin Kirin]] appears behind her in her Elite 2 art, alongside the Wiggler hat-wearing Felyne from [[Characters/ArknightsSnipers Terra Research Commission]].
* ChainmailBikini: The [[https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Kirin+Armor+Set Kirin armor set]] is famous for this in ''VideoGame/MonsterHunter'', and it naturally applies to Yato as she's wearing it.
* CharacterDevelopment: In "A Flurry To The Flame", she starts off extremely stubborn and set in her ways, concerned solely with carrying out her mission and duties without any attempt to compromise with the other side, whether it's one of Roka Village's inhabitants or even Corne. By the end of it, she's realized that her actions are not as productive as she'd thought, and is now trying to be more considerate of other people and their concerns.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Yato just assumes that all of the extra attention her new outfit garners is due to interest in its performance boosting qualities, and it doesn't even occur to her that it may from its [[{{Stripperiffic}} more obvious visual properties]].
* DeviousDaggers: Wields the [[https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Wunderkirins_(MHGU) Wunderkirins]] as her weapon. Her Vanguard form's sword can be seen stuck into the ground in her initial art.
* [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength Does Not Know Her Own Strength]]: The training room staff lament that ever since her upgrade, Yato repeatedly causes severe damage to the training room, and petition the Doctor to transfer her to an open air training ground.
* DrawAggro: Her second skill raises her taunt level.
* GlassCannon: Fitting for a Dual Blade wielder, Yato pumps out ''insane'' burst damage very quickly, and is also incredibly fragile, which is exacerbated by her S2 increasing her taunt level, making her more likely to get killed if she can't push out all of her attacks in time.
* GuestFighter: Yato wears the Kirin armor set from ''VideoGame/MonsterHunter'' to serve as one of the crossover characters in the collab event "A Flurry to the Flame".
* HornedHumanoid: As an Oni she already has two horns, but the Kirin head piece adds another in the middle.
* HotterAndSexier: Compared to her base Vanguard form.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Zig-zagged. In "A Flurry to the Flame", while she complains about the Kirin armor set being too exposed when she puts it on, she's less concerned about how much of her body she's showing and instead questions how it was supposed to protect her. Similarly, she believes that all the attention she now receives is because [[ComicallyMissingThePoint people are just intrigued by her new armor's unique properties]], and [[{{Stripperiffic}} not because of other reasons]].
* MagicKnight: Her first talent causes her attacks to inflict additional Arts damage, most likely as a reference to the Wunderkirins having Elec damage.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Gets this from the Kirin head piece.
* MythologyGag: Her animations are effectively lifted wholesale from various ''VideoGame/MonsterHunter'' games: she swings into the battlefield using the Wirebugs from ''VideoGame/MonsterHunterRise'', her first skill is [[https://youtu.be/GUowVxDGeiQ?t=369 Sixfold Demon Slash]], her second skill is [[https://youtu.be/GUowVxDGeiQ?t=471 Blade Dance]], and her third skill is [[https://youtu.be/47-XqjSaREE Heavenly Blade Dance]].
* NoodleIncident: Her profile mentions that one brave Rhodes Island engineer snuck into Leizi's room after learning Yato's new armor was made from a Kirin. However, it doesn't mention what happened to said engineer besides the fact that the [[TooDumbToLive result was plainly obvious]].
* NotSoDifferentRemark: In "A Flurry to the Flame", she tells Yoshitaka Kashiwau that, like him, [[spoiler: she too failed to protect someone in the past and is still haunted by their death: for Kashiwau, it was his son Akira; for Yato, it was a mother and child she was meant to assassinate. Yato says that if it weren't for Noir Corne, she'd likely be just as consumed by regret and despair as Kashiwau.]]
* ObliviousToLove: She can't seem to tell that Noir Corne has a serious crush on her, with Corne's [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend outburts]] and failed attempts to carry her or hold her hand in "A Flurry to the Flame" going over her head.
* OrwellianRetcon: When she was first released in the Chinese server, Kirin R Yato was called Kirin ''X'' Yato even though she is actually wearing the Kirin R armor set due to a text mistake. Her name later got corrected in the Chinese server several months after her original release while the global server received the fix immediately during the event's release in the server.
* ShipperOnDeck: Especially after their return from Roka Village, many of the Rhodes Island staff have been keeping a close eye on Yato and Noir Corne's interactions, looking for any hint of a romantic relationship between them.
* ShipTease: For her part, Yato admits that Noir Corne is "irreplaceable" to her, but she immediately gets flustered and changes the subject when asked to elaborate.
* SpinAttack: To an impressive degree in her third skill, spinning as she carves up everything in her path and even farther the more targets she has.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: It comes with the territory for wearing the very revealing Kirin armor, which exposes her shoulders, chest, midriff, and thighs.
* TookALevelInBadass: Goes from a 2-star Vanguard with a quasi-Executor Specialist gameplay to a true 6-star Executor Specialist, with power befitting her 8 years of combat experience.
* TookALevelInKindness: Other Operators have noticed that ever since her mission to Roka Village, Yato is far less cold and aloof and now actually takes the time to listen to input from her teammates rather than prioritizing mission efficiency.
* TemporaryOnlineContent: She can only be recruited during "A Flurry to the Flame".
* YouDontLookLikeYou: Her appearance is considerably different from her Vanguard form due to a change in illustrator.
* WeakenedByTheLight: Averted; Yato does not appear to have issues with sunlight despite wearing a ChainmailBikini, likely referring to the Kirin armor set's Divine Blessing effect, which reduces damage taken.
* WrongContextMagic: The performance boosting properties the Kirin armor confers to Yato has secured the deep interest of Rhodes Island's engineers, who are still trying to figure out just how the Felynes were able to craft it and what materials they used.

->''"Hello, hello there, you must be Doctor? You've been looking after my employees for me. They haven't made trouble for you, have they? Oh, that reminds me, here's a card for my agency. Take it, go ahead."''

Founder of Lee's Detective Agency, a mysterious man with seemingly encyclopedic knowledge about Lungmen and many other subjects.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: While not directly stated, Lee is pointedly mentioned to be a bachelor in Invitation to Wine and it's shown Lee had ''some sort'' of feelings for Liang Xun that were never reciprocated and is highly implied to have never had a girlfriend or wife.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Shows this several times in "It's Been A While". He quickly deduces that Hung is using the excuse of running out of cooking wine to stop him from drinking, and correctly points out that Xiaohei is being miserable from spending all day cooped up indoors when Hung tried to rebuke Lee from offering Xiaohei a job with the Agency.
* BrilliantButLazy: A very capable investigator and fighter, yet makes every effort to slack off from work whenever possible.
* CoolOldGuy: It's hard to tell because of his racial features, but Lee is sworn brothers with Liang Xun and Huai Tianpei, the latter of whom is over forty years old, and implied to actually be the eldest of the trio, which would put Lee's age anywhere from late forties to early fifties at least.
* CoolSword: Wields a small blade made entirely of gold coins.
* DifficultButAwesome: Lee's second skill has absolutely massive damage potential, stacking up to a staggering '''900% of his ATK''' as Arts damage at full Mastery, but requires both proper timing to get the tag on the right target and support from allies to land the number of hits necessary. His third skill has the potential to 'block' an infinite number of low weight enemies with its push effect, giving him the ability to hold lanes by himself on some maps despite his 1-block count, but requires knowledge of which enemies can be pushed and which cannot.
* DrawAggro: His 3rd skill makes enemies more likely to target him, which synergizes with the massive evasion it also gives him. His 2nd skill applies the same effect onto an enemy instead, making them the focus of your operators' attacks.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: He makes an amazing team with Aak, as he's not only capable of withstanding his shots, but also because he benefits disproportionately from both the ATK and ASPD buffs [[note]] Especially seeing that Lee lacks ATK buffs by himself in his second skill[[/note]]. The ASPD buff for both Aak and Lee makes them work well together to build up more stacks with his second skill, and can lead to multiple high damage explosions within the buff duration. The ATK buff on Lee’s third skill isn’t very high, but Aak’s buff will have a big impact on his DPS nonetheless. More ASPD makes it easy for Lee to push medium weight enemies that would slowly make their way past him with his default interval, and Aak’s occasional stun proc can make it easier to keep even the faster ones at bay.
* GodWasMyCoPilot: Crossed with DemonicPossession of a sort, in that his prolonged contact with the Black Stone Wine Cup at the heart of ''Invitation to Wine's'' events allowed the fragment of the Sui Sibling's consciousness contained therein to hijack Lee's body and spirit on occasion, whether to visit Ling in her DreamLand, or intimidate a pack of Waregeists. By the end of the event's story, he seemingly vacates Lee's body after his illusory dragon is dispelled by Ling, though in 'Where Vernal Winds Will Never Blow' Lee gets his body hijacked without him realising it once again, and Ya recognises the fragment hiding inside him at the start of the story when they cross paths by coincidence.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: It's not very visible on his E1 art and can be easily mistaken for scale pebbling, and only barely better on his E2, but Lee's arms are ''covered'' in scars.
* GuileHero: While Lee is perfectly capable of holding his own in a fight, possibly far more than he lets on, he prefers to use diplomacy and his wits to handle situations instead. His method of forcing a street hoodlum to back off from a shakedown was to BluffTheImposter using his understanding of Lungmen's underworld rather than directly threatening him.
* ImageSong: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=423BcsNSouw And Yet It Wanes]]".
* LegendaryCarp: Seems to be his {{Mythical Motif|s}}, since his tail resembles that of a carp and his E2 art features it along with a dragon.
* LightningBruiser: He has good offensive stats, and his abilities allow him to stay alive pretty well, through evasion, slowing down the enemy's attacks, or pushing them back. His drawback is that he only blocks one enemy, though the push from his third skill mitigates this slightly.
* MidBattleTeaBreak: Quite literally, if his battle quote is any indication.
-->'''Lee (second battle quote):''' Hey, buddy! Calm it down! You nearly spilled my tea!
* MysteriousPast: While he says he's just a retired merchant who does detective work, he is strangely cagey about any other details. The fact Waai Fu's father trusted him with his daughter's safety, that Lee has numerous connections throughout Lungmen's criminal underworld, the slums, and government, plus what's implied to be a vast knowledge of history along with his abilities on the battlefield suggest there's a lot more to him than he will admit to anyone, even the Doctor.
* NiceGuy: Laziness aside, Lee is a friendly and charismatic person who is easy to befriend and a caring ParentalSubstitute to his employees, especially Waai Fu, and practically everyone he interacts with in Lungmen have nothing but good things to say about him. His Operator Record follows his befriending of a regular fruit vendor over the course of his time spent in Lungmen.
* NoSell: His '''Preparedness Averts Peril''' talent has him consume 5 DP (4 with his Module unlocked) rather than the usual 3 DP to block the next attempt to stun or freeze him, and stun the offending enemy back. Notably, it can also nullify the stun inflicted from taking too much Nervous Impairment damage, and also prevent freezing from Originium Ice Crystals.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Waai Fu. He has attended several important life events, like her university graduation ceremony, on behalf of her DisappearedDad. He is this as well to Hung and Aak, but to a lesser extent. His Operator Record further details how he came to adopt each of them to his agency over his years spent living in Lungmen.
* PowerCopying: His first talent causes blocking an enemy to debuff their ASPD while raising Lee's ASPD by the same amount. Both of these values are doubled if Lee's target is the only enemy in his surrounding tiles.
* TheSocialExpert: Has a knack for being able to read people, to the point that it actively agitates his old acquaintances with how easy it is for him to pick apart their facades. He attributes it to detectives having to sus things out more often than normal people, but it might also have been a skill he's had since before he made the agency.
* StealthPun: 'Lee' or 'Li' as it would be rendered in Mandarin, is a common Chinese family name, and is written as 李, but it is also homophone with 鲤, meaning 'carp', which is the word he uses.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: Lee's dull grey, black, and gold coloring gives him one of the most muted color palettes of the operators, and he's extremely snarky. He's also one of the tallest operators you can recruit at 193cm/6'4ft.
* TrashOfTheTitans: Waai Fu's line when she is assigned to the facility mention this, implying that he isn't the most organized person.
--> '''Waai Fu''': At least it's better than some old, messy detective agency.
* UnseenNoMore: He was initially mentioned in Waai Fu, Hung, and Jaye's Operator Archive Files. He first appears in the OVA [[https://youtube.com/watch?v=jH_cDXwbknc Lee's Detective Agency: Home Service]], released alongside the CN server's 2.5 anniversary and Near Light event. He officially debuts as an operator in the ''Invitation to Wine'' event.
* WhyAmITicking: His second skill plants a mark on the target which explodes after a few seconds, dealing Arts damage in an area. The damage of the explosion increases every time an ally attacks the market target, up to a limit. If the limit is exceeded or the target dies, the bomb will explode immediately.
* WillfullyWeak: There are multiple indications within Lee's quotes and profile that he is not fighting at his full capability for whatever reason, with his official combat experience being listed as "None (self-declared)". Despite this, nobody at HR seems to buy it.
--> 'Although Rhodes Island imposes no requirements on its Operators beyond a satisfactory Combat Skill evaluation, the fact that some Operators are openly hiding their true strength perhaps calls for a review of our testing procedures.' - '''Archive Note 3, records from a certain HR meeting.'''
--> '''Lee (watching battle record)''': How about a quick scrap? No, no, I'm just joking. I'm no good in a fight.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: His design in promotional art [[https://static.zerochan.net/Arknights.full.2933001.jpg sported a different color]], one that leaned to orange instead of his current golden yellow one. This made him more akin to Feline operators like Waai Fu, surprising many that he does not have tiger AnimalMotifs.

A mysterious assassin with potent stealth abilities and an extremely timid demeanor. Hailing from Sargon, she joined Rhodes Island after the machinations of the Sand Soldier left her homeless in his quest for revenge during the first season of Reclamation Agency.
----
* ADogNamedDog: She's a manticore named Manticore.
* BewareMyStingerTail: She attacks using her massive scorpion tail that can inject poison to anyone struck by it.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Unwilling to kill anymore, she abandons your tribe in the ''Fire Within the Sands'' event's 3rd ending after seeing it embark down a path of murderous vengeance.
* FashionableAsymmetry: There's a bandage above her left leg.
* GirlishPigtails: She has twintails.
* HeadWings: She also has two bat wings on her head.
* {{Invisibility}}: She acquired the ability to turn invisible after contracting Oripathy. While this prove to be handy for someone with her particular set of skills, it really doesn't help her self-esteem issues.
* MightyGlacier: Manticore can dish out a lot of damage in a fairly wide range, and her trait allows her to tank a good amount of damage should she somehow get targeted, but she cannot block any enemies and is very slow to attack, which is made even ''slower'' with her second skill (With her second skill up, she takes ''5 seconds'' to wind up an attack).
* MythicalMotifs: As obvious from her name and race, it's the manticore - A winged lion with a scorpion's tail. It also appears in her Elite 2 artwork and in both of her skins.
* PoisonousPerson: Her dialogue implies that her poison is lethal to humans. Gameplay-wise, this makes her a very viable de-buffer, because of her skill set.
** Her first skill '''Scorpion Venom''' is a passive ability that makes it such that anyone hit by her (and she hits '''everyone''' in range) will suffer a -23% penalty to their movement speed for 3 seconds at Skill Level 1.
** Her second skill '''Toxic Overload''' increases her attack animation and interval to buff her ATK by 30% and stun targets for .5 seconds at Skill Level 1.
* ProfessionalKiller: Implied to be one prior to joining Rhodes Island. This is manifested somewhat because of her classification as a Stealth-type Specialist, and with her '''Hidden Killer - Medium''' talent, which makes it so that she stays Invisible normally, gains a 25% ATK boost on the first attack and breaking cover, and becomes Invisible again when she hasn't attacked for 6 seconds.
** ''Fire Within the Sands'' shows she really was a professional killer in Sargon in the past, but [[DefectorFromDecadence got sick of killing.]]
* ShrinkingViolet: Manticore is extremely shy, constantly speaking in a hesitant tone and rarely finishing sentences. Having the power to turn invisible at will doesn't help her in social interactions. Her shyness is so bad that other operators have resorted to use ''written papers'' just to communicate with her.
* TheSneakyGal: Prior to her recruitment, she already received training in stealth, infiltration, and surprise attacks, which she regularly uses as a Rhodes Island Operator. This is manifested in '''Hidden Killer - Medium''' wherein she's automatically Invisible until she attacks, and regains invisibility when she hasn't attacked anything for 6 seconds. Because of this, she has the "Survival" tag attached to her.

A bright young boy from Dossoles who accompanied several Rhodes Operators back to the landship. However, the level of caution he's treated with by the higher-ups hints at a dangerous truth behind his innocent demeanor...
----
* AnimalMotifs: Jellyfish, specifically Moon Jellyfish as evidenced by the patterns on his hat and umbrella, plus the moon symbols on the latter. The same quatrefoil patterns appear on targets affected by his talent while his S3 is up. Unlike Whisperain, it was fairly obvious at his reveal, as several of them accompany him in his E2 art.
* ApparentlyHumanMerfolk: A plot point, similar to Highmore's case. [[spoiler: Except Mizuki is a full-on Seaborn which managed to take the form of a human and act believably as a human without falling in the UncannyValley.]]
* BadassAdorable: Mizuki is a cute and friendly young boy [[spoiler:with the terrifying eldritch powers of a Seaborn.]]
* BattleThemeMusic: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qVBh8kOu_Q Endospore]]" [[spoiler:as Izumik, Fount of Ecology.]]
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: In "Dossoles Holiday", Ch'en subdues a group of contestants surrounding Mizuki during the first round of the Dossoles Warrior Championship. Hearing her say that she helped him for no reason has a profound effect on him; not only does he give her the pure gold bar he was holding, but after the competition is over he also regrets not boarding the ship with her to help her if he knew it would end that way. He then decides to follow her to Rhodes Island, expecting to meet many nice people like her there.
* BigEater: Mizuki has an absolutely voracious appetite, to the point where he qualified for the Dossoles Warrior Champion by winning an eating competition. [[spoiler:This is likely because of his Seaborn biology, especially since he seems impartial to eating ''people''.]]
* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: In a degree, some of Mizuki's voice lines had him ponder and ask the Doctor about what makes a heroic or villainous person, and how "heroes" must be protected and "villains" must be destroyed. This is what he has to say when the Doctor tells him that Mizuki has a strong sense of justice.
-->'''Mizuki:''' A strong sense of justice? You have the wrong idea, Doctor. I'm personally not that concerned about bad guys, but for various reasons, the people here usually can't do much to them, right? In times like that, if there was some way to make those bad guys disappear... Nobody would lose sleep over that, right? It'd be a breath of fresh air, right?
* BoringButPractical: His first skill is a simple charge-storing on-hit ATK multiplier that also buffs the damage of his first talent. However, its short cooldown, high damage multipliers, and lack of self-damage like his third skill make it the most popular choice for when Mizuki needs to lock down an area with pure damage.
* CastFromHitPoints: His third skill, '''Moon in the Water''', massively increases his attack range and ATK, adds two additional targets to his first Talent, and stuns all enemies hit in range. However, if Mizuki hits less than 3 enemies, he'll lose 15-12% of his max HP per attack. If he misses enough hits, this ''will'' kill him if he's not aided by a Medic.
* ChekhovsGun: Mizuki can be seen as one of the top scorers on the April Fools minigame Barrage Fortress, under the username [[SignificantAnagram "IZUMIKun~"]]. [[spoiler:Not only does "Izumik" turn out to be his name after being reborn as a Firstborn, his Monthly Squad reveals he named his Firstborn self that on a whim after playing what is implied to be said game. As an additional BilingualBonus, "Izumi" is Japanese for "fountain", and his full title as a boss is "Izu'mik, '''Fount''' of Ecology".]]
* TheChosenOne: [[spoiler:Kal'tsit manages to persuade Gladiia not to murder Mizuki on the spot by pointing out that him being a largely benevolent human and Seaborn hybrid represents a possible future where humanity and the Seaborn can coexist peacefully. This was also Cicero's intention when he "created" Mizuki, and given the third and fourth endings of "Mizuki and Caerula Arbor" where he can become a [[MessianicArchetype savior of Terra]], he seemingly succeeded.]]
* CombatTentacles: Ethereal-looking ones extend from his sprite whenever he uses his skills. It's implied that these are at least in part caused by his hallucination powers, [[spoiler:but his nature as a Seaborn also suggests that at least some of them are very much real. Confirmed in "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor", with the second ending's flavor text stating Mizuki's human form being an illusion and his actual form is jellyfish-shaped.]]
* DissonantSerenity: Has a habit of maintaining a cheery voice no matter how morbid or intimidating his subject matter is, to the point where D.D.D. specifically calls him the "utterer of terrifying statements in completely normal voices". Additionally, his adorable looks make a very striking contrast to the [[spoiler:terrifying eldritch Seaborn powers he wields.]]
* DoomedHometown: His home village was destroyed by bandits when he was a child, leaving him for dead until a strange old man rescued him. [[spoiler:The old man turned out to be Cicero, a Bishop of the Church of the Deep who transformed him into what he is now, after [[YouCannotGraspTheTrueForm driving the bandits to utter madness]].]]
* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: Whenever he talks about subjects he doesn't like, the light goes out of his eyes and serves to make him more menacing even with the cute artstyle of his character designer.
* FinalBoss: [[spoiler:Of the fourth ending of ''Mizuki and Caerula Arbor'', in a transformed state after merging with the titular Caerula Arbor and reviving as the final Firstborn, [[UltimateLifeForm a godlike "perfect being" approaching the singularity of evolution.]]]]
* FinishHim: Much of his kit revolves around dealing massive damage to enemies with lowered HP, making it easier for him to finish them off if they've been softened up by either him or his allies.
** His first talent, '''Traumatic Hysteria''', causes him to deal up to 50% of his ATK as bonus Arts damage to the target in his range with the lowest amount of health. His AMB-X module increases the bonus damage from his first talent to a maximum of 60%, while letting it target an additional enemy by default.
** His second talent, '''Countertransference''', increases his ATK by 10% (+2% with potentials) when there's a target below half HP in his range, furthering his ability to finish off wounded targets. His AMB-Y module increases this ATK buff to a maximum of 20%, while also healing him for 10% of his maximum HP if he successfully finishes off a target.
** His first skill '''Awaken''' significantly boosts the damage of his next attack and multiplies the damage of his first talent by up to three times at Mastery 3.
** His second skill and third skill increase the number of targets of his first talent by 1 and 2 respectively.
* FlunkyBoss: In the stage "Glory of Humanity" of "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor" [[spoiler:Izumik, Source of Ecology spawns multiple waves of Izumik's Offspring from the incursion points around the map. Touching an offspring consumes it to heal him and power up his second phase, while blocking them transforms them into other enemies to attack you. They'll continue to spawn in massive droves until Izumik is defeated.]]
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: In order to get the fourth ending of ''Mizuki and Caerula Arbor'', [[spoiler:Mizuki must ascend to the position of a Seaborn god, but he has to affirm who he is to avoid losing his sense of self and his sight of what he came there for, as well as separate himself from Izumik afterwards. The result of this depends on the player's Light, implied to be representative of sanity - high Light (90-100) lets Mizuki hold on to his mission and claim a very powerful item (+2 block count, +120% HP/DEF, and +20 RES), moderate Light (50-89) causes him to become indecisive and gain a smaller buff (+1 block count), while low Light (less than 50) will cause him to submit to We Many and get a ''debuff'' instead (''-1'' block count). Fittingly, the stronger items can be a huge help to defeating Mizuki himself as the final boss of the ending, meaning that keeping Mizuki sane enough to retain his sense of self directly raises the likelihood of Mizuki being able to fulfill his goal, and vice versa.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: In all of the non-canon endings to ''Mizuki and Caerula Arbor'', [[spoiler: Mizuki sacrifices himself. In the Age of the Silence ending, he acts as a decoy for the Seaborn to buy enough time for the Doctor to escape to the surface, but this fails to prevent Ishar'mla and the Seaborn from overrunning the world. In the Price of Peace ending, he uses the remaining power of the Caerula Arbor to defeat Ishar'mla and fuse with the maddened Primordial Lifespring, merging with the ocean and seemingly permanently pacifying the Seaborn. Subverted in the Stella Caerula ending, where he offers himself up to replace the Caerula Arbor as the new Firstborn, and manages to retain and convey his human ego enough to separate from his Seaborn self and send the Seaborn into space for good, while staying back on Terra.]]
* HumanoidAbomination:
** [[spoiler:Between his borderline Lovecraftian powers, his strange biology, his mysterious background, and his adverse reaction to what is implied to the the Abyssal Hunters, he's all but outright stated to be part-Seaborn from whatever the Priest that rescued him did to him. This isn't exactly a secret from the higher-ups, which is why Rhodes Island is keeping a particularly close eye on him and doesn't trust him. However, it's unknown whether or not he's fully aware of his nature or the Seaborns' mission - and unlike Deepcolor, another Aegir-Seaborn hybrid in Rhodes Island, his recounts of his own past are all honest.]]
** ''Mizuki & Caerula Arbor'' takes this a step further and reveals that [[spoiler:he's not just a hybrid, he's actually become a ''full'' Seaborn that has developed free will and advanced to the point of being able to perfectly imitate a human form, and he's carrying the cells of the dormant [[EldritchAbomination Caerula Arbor]] to boot, which in. Once he dies in the "Age of the Silence" ending, he briefly reverts to his true, jellyfish-like form as he loses consciousness and is unable to maintain the illusion for any longer.]]
* ImageSong: “[[https://youtu.be/T7UVQmPKB9A Y1K]]”.
* ImAHumanitarian: [[spoiler:In the first ending of "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor", Mizuki decided to roast and eat the Seaborn flesh he peeled off from Highmore's "Paranoia Illusion" form, which understandably grossed her out. This is normal for all Seaborn as shown in "Stultifera Navis" and "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor" ending texts.]]
* MasterOfIllusion:
** His powers let him severely disrupt the senses of others and conjure hallucinations. When defending, these can alter the perception of others to make them unable to hit him. When attacking, his illusory powers become [[SupernaturalFearInducer so lifelike and fear-inducing]] that [[BrownNote they can actually cause lasting physiological and psychological damage]].
** His ability is later discovered to not actually be an Arts ability, [[ClarkesThirdLaw but rather a biological one using chemical and electrical signals produced by his body]]. [[spoiler:This is another hint that there's something very different about him compared to other Aegir.]]
* MessianicArchetype: In the fourth ending of "Mizuki and Caerula Arbor", [[spoiler:Mizuki sacrifices himself and ascends to become the god of the Seaborn HiveMind, and commands them to reshape Terra for the better before leaving the planet. This takes long enough that the Seaborn have already ravaged the majority of Terra's life, the survivors of humanity has been forced into hiding within the last few cities available, and pretty much everyone he knew is long dead. However, Mizuki eventually manages to return in a human form, and not only finds a fertile world rid of Originium, but discovers that humankind has forgotten about their fear of the Seaborn and the Seaborn no longer consider humanity a threat, allowing them to finally coexist peacefully and rebuild civilization.]]
* MightyGlacier: [[spoiler:Izumik, Source of Ecology]] moves slowly across the map, but compensates for it with high HP/DEF/RES and the ability to stun all allied operators on the map with additional Arts damage ticks over time every time it loses a portion of its HP. The global Arts damage blast whenever [[spoiler:Izumik]] absorbs 5 Offspring during its first form in particular is extremely damaging and can wipe out teams that lack copious amount of RES.
* NonLinearCharacter: There are certain implications that [[spoiler:Izumik, his self reborn as a Firstborn in an alternate timeline, sees time nonlinearly and is capable of conveying thoughts back to Mizuki himself in the present, despite not yet existing in the same time or space. Mizuki acknowledges the boons of such a power, but ultimately rejects the idea of completely becoming Izumik. However, he presumes that Izumik is the result of one iteration of himself and the Doctor making a rational choice, so he holds no ill will towards his potential future self and shares thoughts with Him, even giving Him a name.]]
-->[[spoiler:''He thinks, He has thought, He will continue to think. He will simultaneously receive several different answers at once, and receives His answer before they arrive. He has been sublimated, but only His body can be bound by the fetters of time, not His thought.'']]\
[[spoiler:''At some point, these thoughts arrive in Mizuki's mind in a stochastic state. It is as if He himself exists in flux at this moment.'']]
* ShownTheirWork: Many of his skill names are named after psychology terms, fitting for someone with the ability to disrupt the senses and psyche of others.
* StanceSystem: Sort of. Each of his modules makes him fit for a different style of combat.
** Module X has a base effect that slows down even fast enemies like dogs enough to let Mizuki hit them twice, while the module upgrade lets Mizuki's second skill hit three targets instead of just two. With this module, he can fulfill the role of his archetype to another extent that he can't without it.
** Meanwhile, Module Y actually makes him a decent, self-sustaining evasion tank with the 65% Physical and Arts Evasion as well as the heal on kill. This makes it so that Mizuki can be deployed right at certain areas that would kill most operators and dodge most damage while sustaining himself, with the health on kill offsetting the penalty from his S3.
* RuleOfSymbolism: In "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor", the collectibles that you can obtain with the "Sublimation" encounter correspond to [[spoiler:Mizuki's humanity]]: 'Determination', acquired when the run is above 90 Light, is the sunny doll attached to Mizuki's umbrella and represents [[spoiler:Mizuki's intact humanity]]; 'Vigil', available at 50 to 89 Light, is the sunny doll with Seaborn tissue growing on it and represents [[spoiler:Mizuki's neutral stance not particularly leaning human or Seaborn]]; 'Hesitation', from a run with below 49 Light, is the doll completely subsumed by Seaborn tissue and represents [[spoiler:Mizuki losing himself to the Seaborn hive mind.]]
* StrongerThanTheyLook: Mizuki's physical abilities are noted to be on par with a fully trained combat Operator despite him being an ordinary young boy. This is also reflected in his 6-star status. [[spoiler:This abnormal strength is shared with the Abyssal Hunters, since he is part-Seaborn like them.]]
* SupremeChef: Zig-zagged. Mizuki is actually a very talented cook with a good sense of taste, and apprenticed at a Dossoles restaurant when he was young. However, when he makes dishes from scratch, they are generally considered good-tasting but still somewhat nauseating to eat due to his mysterious cooking methods, which preserve the nutrients inside ingredients to such a degree that they give the impression of being ''still alive'' upon consumption - his attempt at making ''extremely fresh'' Higashi-style sashimi in the Rhodes Kitchen manga was sufficiently disturbing that it unnerved Midnight and Kirara. [[spoiler:This is a recurring motif regarding the Seaborn.]]
* TokenHeroicOrc: [[spoiler:Mizuki, or rather, Izumik, is a fully benevolent and heroic Seaborn whose existence is the key to solving the Seaborn threat once and for all in "Mizuki and Caerula Arbor". This notably makes him the sole playable full-on Seaborn operator in the game.]]

A strange martial artist from Yen with many talents ranging from combat to entertainment and leisure.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Birds, as per his Liberi race, though his Elite 2 art suggests they are probably Lady Amhearst's pheasants.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: His S2, '''Wax and Wane''', will grant him an attack boost and one of three random effects. The type of effect present is denoted by the color of the aura surrounding Mr. Nothing, [[GuideDangIt though the game doesn't tell you which color attributes to a specific effect]].
** Blue: Enemies attacked will be inflicted with an (unstacking) ASPD debuff for 5 seconds.
** Red: Buffs Mr. Nothing's ASPD.
** Purple: Has a chance to dodge physical attacks and increases his block count by one.
* FortuneTeller: It's one of his hobbies, and his character design bears several similarities to the stereotypical Chinese fortune teller. In fact, tapping on him in the base will show him shaking on a tube of fortune-telling lots.
* FriendToAllChildren: While he spends most of "Who Is Real" simply running away from danger, he can't ignore a little girl being attacked my monsters and goes out of his way to save her, even resorting to briefly putting aside his [[ObfuscatingStupidity cowardly facade]] to defeat the monster himself.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: He is the only one of Lien's students to have been taught the Lien school's lethal martial arts techniques, which he adamantly refuses to use again after he ended up killing one of his opponents in a a duel.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: He is of the same subclass as Jaye, costing very little DP to place down, but passively draining your reserve while active, and doesn't refund anything when retreated.
* MentorOccupationalHazard: He was caught in a conspiracy where he was framed for the death of a rival martial artist, resulting in his master Lien being forced to trade her own life as punishment.
* MysteriousPast: While most aspects of Mr. Nothing's past are known, the one thing that has the HR Department curious is that even though the Lien martial arts school was small and had little renown, why did Lien's enemies go through such lengths to have her killed, and why do they still pursue Mr. Nothing to this day?
* ObfuscatingStupidity: While at first it seems like Mr. Nothing is a defenseless Messenger who would run at the first sign of conflict, in reality he is a highly dangerous martial arts master who can take out entire gangs singlehandedly. He puts up the act since he simply prefers to avoid conflict, staying off his enemies' radar.
* PaperFanOfDoom: His standard weapon, unless his S2 is activated, where he will replace it with a ParasolOfPain. In the story, he actually takes quite some time before actually using it when pressed into a corner with no other option at hand.
* ParasolOfPain: If his S2 is activated, Mr. Nothing replaces his PaperFanOfDoom with the umbrella he wears around his hip.
* RestingRecovery: His S1, '''Cautious Retreat''' is similar to that of Utage, but is automatically activated in contrast to her manually activated skill. It will be activated whenever his HP hits below 20% [[note]] The treshold cannot be increased by leveling [[/note]], reduces his block count to 0, and regenerates HP over the duration. When the skill isn't active, it raises his block count.
* {{Revenge}}: He notes that it's his ultimate goal to return to his hometown and "[[DeadlyEuphemism settle all his debts]]".
* SituationalSword: Forms a part of a CheeseStrategy together with [[Characters/ArknightsSnipersAToM Erato]] against the Last Knight, one of Integrated Strategies #3's more tough bosses. As Mr. Nothing alone does a stunning punch whenever he hasn’t attacked for more than 4 seconds, something he can achieve by freezing himself. Combined with Erato’s long range sleep arrow while the former is frozen, the two can keep Last Knight stalled forever (in combination with Mr. Nothing's module and an SP boost like Ptilopsis).
* SoleSurvivor: As far as he knows, he is the last and only disciple of the Lien school of martial arts.
* StanceSystem: His S2, '''Wax and Wane''' is one of the truer examples of this in the game. When his S2 is used, Mr. Nothing gains one out of three possible buffs at random, as shown above on ColorCodedForYourConvenience, which lasts "indefinitely"[[note]]"Infinite duration" skills last 30 minutes in real-time[[/note]]. Activating this skill again while it is active rerolls the buff given to Mr. Nothing, though there's no guaranteeing if it will be a new one or not.
* TragicKeepsake: His fan is the last thing he has from his master, as it was thrust upon him when she died and he brought it on his travels as a symbol of inheriting the martial arts style that he was taught.
