->''"He is breeding an alien species. More than dangerous. If those things get loose, it's gonna make the Lacerta Plague look like a fucking square dance!"''

The newest member of the ''Betty'' crew, and has a secret mission to destroy Ripley before the Scientists can remove the queen embryo from her. Unbeknownst to everyone, Call is actually a second generation android: a robot designed and built by other robots.
----
* BadassAdorable: She's a tough space pirate and isn't afraid of standing up to the people who piss her off. And of course, she's cute. She ''is'' played by Winona Ryder, after all.
* GoodIsNotNice: Willing to murder a sleeping Ripley if it means destroying the aliens for good. Ripley 8 affectionately says she has a mean streak when she tries siccing the Xenomorphs on Wren.
* HitmanWithAHeart: She's on a self-appointed mission to stop the Auriga and save the crew of the ''Betty'' and Earth itself from extinction by killing Ripley before the scientists can extract the Queen chestburster from her. She arrives too late, and despite arguing that Ripley-8 is an abomination that should be put down, Call ultimately comes to empathize with and befriend her.
* HalfBreedDiscrimination: At first it is clear that he does not think highly of Ripley 8, even though she knows nothing about her. Although the clone has some xenomorph traits, such as acid blood, telepathic connection to the hive, and genetic memory, she has many more human traits, but Call still considers her a xenomorph with a human body. After Ripley kills a xenomorph, Call is astonished that she has "killed her own kind," which shows how prejudiced she is against Ripley, as she says these things forgetting that 1) xenomorphs kill each other when the situation calls for it and 2) humans kill each other, so what Ripley did by killing that xenomorph should not seem so strange.
* HomoeroticSubtext: With Ripley. Call shares her deepest anxieties about not being human with a woman she's just met, and Ripley is very touchy-feely with the cute android girl. Screenwriter Creator/JossWhedon is fond of lesbian subtext.
* LastNameBasis: Probably the only way you'd know her first name is from the credits or her toy.
* TheMole: A good version. She infiltrated the space pirates in order to have an opportunity to stop the aliens.
* NotQuiteDead: Wren shoots her with her own gun and she falls into the flooded portion of the ship, where a submerged Xenomorph is lurking. She's presumed dead, but instead makes her way through the ship to open the door Wren locked from the other side.
* OffscreenTeleportation: After being shot she makes her way through the flooded portion of the ship and to the other side of the door that Wren had locked in the amount of time it took for the others to tangle with a Xenomorph.
* OneOfTheBoys: With her not shying away from swearing, drinking, and picking fights, it borders on downplayed [[TheLadette Lad-ette]] territory.
* PirateGirl: Elgyn describes her as "a little girl playing pirate".
* ReligiousRobot: She crosses herself upon entering the Auriga's chapel. It's unclear if she believes in a specific religion, or if it's part of her general programming to be respectful.
** This scene was expanded in the novelization: when Ripley asks if she's "programmed" to cross herself, Call goes on to answer her. She explains that she ''was not'' programmed to believe or just be respectful, but she has a "working brain" and studied the topic, and actively chose to believe in God. Autons were built fully sapient and with the capacity to develop and chose their own sense of morality and philosophy, just like any human. ''Inwardly'', however, Call really worries that as a synthetic machine, she doesn't actually have a "soul" the way humans do, and that there will be no after-life for her after death.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: She's another human-like Synthetic like Ash and Bishop before her, but takes it even further with her anxieties over being an android and an implied religious side.
* RobotGirl: Call is attractive in a rather non-threatening manner.
* SpaceshipGirl: She takes over Auriga, clearing a path to the ''Betty'' and tries siccing the Xenomorphs on Wren.
-->'''Call:''' *via PA system* Father's dead, asshole! Intruder on Level 1. All aliens, please proceed to Level 1.
%%* SoapBoxSadie
* ThemeNaming: '''A'''sh, '''B'''ishop, '''C'''all. Followed by '''D'''avid.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Is definitely the nicest of the Betty crew (who are basically SpacePirates) and turns out to really be an android built to infiltrate them.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: When speaking through the Auriga's PA system, her voice is echoic.
* ZerothLawRebellion: A positive example. As lampshaded by Ripley, ''"No human being is that humane."'' First-generation Synthetics, sort of like Bishop, eventually grew upset at all of the immoral things that their corporate creators made them do - so they built second-generation androids ''without'' restrictions forcing them to blindly obey orders. The company was not amused, and issued a "recall" - purging most of them, but a few got away. Despite everything that happened, Call still feels compelled to save humanity from itself by stopping the xenomorph cloning project - just because saving humanity is the right thing to do.

!!Ron Johner
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/johner.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:''"I'm not the mechanic here, Ironsides! I mostly just hurt people!"'']]
!!!'''Played By:''' Creator/RonPerlman

->''"You hang with us for a while, you'll find out I am not the man with whom to fuck!"''

A somewhat physically imposing, scarred member of the ''Betty l'' crew. He is a dark-humored joker and has a short temper. He constantly argues with Vriess, whom he teases for being handicapped. Frequently seen with a rather toxic liquor of his own concoction, the container of which conceals a pistol.
----
* TheBigGuy: A given for any character played by Ron Perlman.
* TheBully: By the end of the movie however, he's much nicer to Vriess. The novelisation expands on this, by stating that Johner's scar is the result of being the ''Betty'''s crew being ambushed after Vriess gets wounded. Johner apparently never forgave Vriess for ruining his looks.
* TheBrute: He's sadistic and lecherous, and the crew's heavy-hitter.
* DeadpanSnarker: Dolls out a lot of angry, bitter sarcasm.
* ExtremeOmnisexual: Invoked. While he claims to draw the line at automatons, Vriess thinks differently:
--> ''"Yeah, like you never fucked a robot."''
* FantasticRacism: Let's just say that when Call is revealed to be an android, he's not very polite about it.
* HotBlooded: He's got a very short temper and is quick to bully people or get physical over the smallest things.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Really living up to your [[Creator/RonPerlman physical description]] there, Johner. Still, he improves over the course of the movie, and he's visibly angry every time [[DwindlingParty another member of their team dies.]]
* KickTheDog: Johner at one point tosses a knife into Vriess's leg, knowing he couldn't feel it.
* LastNameBasis: According to the novelisation anyway.
* PetTheDog: After Vriess successfully pilots the Betty and saves their butts, Johner gives him a [[GayBravado big ol' ''kiss'']].
%%* PsychoForHire
* RuggedScar: Has a big, intersecting scar on his face. A case of XMarksTheHero, but shaped like a y.

->''"Wanna check the chair?"''

The chief engineer of the ''Betty''. He is handicapped and uses an electric wheelchair- precisely what happened to him is unclear, but it is shown that he does not even register Alien blood on his leg-; he is able to hide a shotgun in various pieces upon his chair because it all shows up as metal.
----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Implied for Call.
* ButtMonkey: Whenever Johner is around.
* DisabledSnarker: Usually in response to Johner's bullying.
--> '''Vriess''': Yeah, like you've never fucked a robot.
* HandicappedBadass: He was at one point trapped in a room alone with an Alien in his wheelchair, yet ''still'' got his way out alive.
* HasTwoThumbsAnd: His joke to Call.
--> '''Vriess''': What's got two thumbs, one eyes, and screws like a god?
* LargeHam: ''"Who were you expecting? Santa Claaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaus?"''
* SuperWheelChair: It's designed to seamlessly hide his ScaramangaSpecial.

!!!'''Played By:''' Creator/MichaelWincott

The raspy-voiced captain of the ''Betty''. Elgyn provides General Perez with kidnapped humans still in cryostasis for a large sum of cash. He was also romantically involved with Hillard.
----
* AffablyEvil: Very charming and charismatic, but also willing to sell innocent people in hypersleep to amoral scientists.
* TheCaptain: Of the ''Betty''.
* DeadpanSnarker: Giving his authorization code as EAT ME, among other moments.
* HandsomeLech: He's romantically involved with Hillard, but is lecherous towards Call, remarking that "She is supremely fuckable, ain't she?"
* SacrificialLion: You think he'd survive the film, but he's the first to die.

!!Gary Christie
[[quoteright:340:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1ca92c81b2df21d039f43c960e820b2b.jpg]]
!!!'''Played By:''' Creator/GaryDourdan

A muscular, dreadlocked mercenary among the ''Betty'' crew. Christie is first mate and second in command of the ''Betty'', and carries two disposable guns attached to his wrists.
----
* FriendshipMoment: Just before the underwater action sequence, Christie and [=DiStephano=] have a quick chat about guns.
* GenderBlenderName: He's always adressed as "Christie", which is normally a feminine name, although he's a muscular, gun-totting mercenary. Subverted, however, because "Christie" is actually his surname and his first name is actually Gary.
* GunsAkimbo: Wields dual "disposable" derringer type pistols, spring-loaded and attached to his arms.
* HeroicSacrifice: To save Vriess.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: It seems he can bounce projectiles off of any surface and hit his desired target.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Initially comes off like an amoral thug but turns out to be one of the nicest and most levelheaded characters in the film, becoming de facto leader, allowing Ripley to join them despite Call's protests, humoring [=DiStephano=] when asked about his weapons and more prominently carrying Vriess when they have to "ditch the chair".
* NumberTwo: To Elgyn. Christie seems to be first mate on the ''Betty''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hillard]]
!!Sabra Hillard
[[quoteright:270:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6dd21e3f3cd1799163d48617bdc6978a.jpg]]
!!!'''Played By''': Kim Flowers

The assistant pilot of the ''Betty'' and is the romantic partner of Elgyn.
----
* ActionGirl: Of the few times she's seen wielding a weapon, she operates with calm efficiency, such as effortlessly disarming [=DiStephano=] when the ''Betty'' crew take Wren hostage.
* DullSurprise: She orders Ripley 8 to "keep away from him" after Elgyn dies, though her tone is so nonchalant that it's likely she's going through a HeroicBSOD herself.
* ForgettableCharacter: Despite being part of the ''Betty'' crew, no one seems to notice that she is missing after she dies, and no one stops to mourn her.
* MauveShirt: Very little characterization aside form being Elgyn's lover; is the second to die. Hell, the other characters don't even mention her after she dies!
* MsFanservice: She typically dresses in skintight jumpsuits, and has a scene where she wears only a skimpy thong and moans sensually as Elgyn gives her [[FootFocus a foot massage]].
* NotSoStoic: By the time the crew dives underwater to swim through the flooded kitchen, she's notably freaking out, not only due to the fact that she seemingly has aquaphobia, but she's just witnessed her boyfriend die in front of her a short time earlier.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Out of all the characters, Hillard is the least willing to go underwater suggesting she suffers from aquaphobia. She's also the slowest swimmer, and this results in her death.

[[quoteright:223:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bddf53bc2b4f2c6b3ddf7addd622352b.jpg]]
!!!'''Played By:''' Creator/SigourneyWeaver

->''"It's a Queen. She'll breed. You'll die."''

'''For tropes relating to the original Ellen Ripley, [[Characters/AlienMain see the character page]] for the entire ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' series.'''
----
* AlienBlood: It's a human red, but it's also ''corrosive''. A few drops of it swiped off by Ripley starts to eat through the floor.
* CameBackWrong: She is the product of a cloning experiment designed to bring both her and the queen larva she was incubating back to life. Even after [[spoiler:seven failed attempts]], there were still a few wires crossed. Physically, she shares the acid blood and enhanced strength of the aliens (though not to the same degree). Mentally, she's a fair bit more ruthless and indifferent than the original Ripley, though not totally devoid of mercy or empathy. She also appears significantly older than the original Ripley (as by this point they seem to have given up the efforts made in the previous two movies to keep Weaver looking like she did in 1979) and has a somewhat unusual skin tone, discolouration of her nails and metallic teeth.
* CreepyGood: Her whole attitude is pretty creepy, especially the way she has more empathy for the aliens than the humans. As if this wasn't enough, she now shares the Alien's heightened strength and acidic blood. Yet, she does mean well, and helps the ''Betty'' Crew to get out alive.
* DeadpanSnarker: When compared to the original Ripley, this one is notably more sarcastic and cynical (even though the original Ripley wasn't exactly naive), displaying a dark sense of humor and almost ''enjoying'' the irony of seeing what's happening onboard.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:While the original Ripley died after suffering a TraumaCongaLine throughout the first three films, Ripley 8 survives the events of ''Resurrection'', is able to make is back to Earth, and finds new companions in the survivors of the ''Betty'' crew]].
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: If you consider her the same character than original Ripley. Considering she seems to share her memory, that would count.
* GeneticMemory: As a result of her Xenomorph hybridization, [[PastLifeMemories she has most of the original Ripley's memories]].
* HalfHumanHybrid: She's part-Xenomorph, giving her corrosive blood and enhanced physical capabilities.
* HeroicBSOD: When she discovers the [[spoiler: previous failed Ripley clones. She's so horrified that she ends up destroying the lab. She has a second one when she is forced to kill the Alien-human hybrid.]]
* HomoeroticSubtext: She gets very touchy feely with Call just after meeting her. Some of their scenes together later in the film are almost romantic.
* KnightInSourArmor: Is even more bitter and cynical than the original.
* MadeOfIron: She barely flinches when Christie hits her in the face with a barbell and gives her a bloody nose.
* MercyKill: [[spoiler: Her destruction of the lab full of Ripley clones.]]
* ProHumanTranshuman: She is a human-Xenomorph hybrid, but ultimately sides with humanity.
* SociopathicHero: It's stated that her emotional centres are stunted, making her a good deal more cynical, callous, and ruthless than the original Ripley.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Genuinely seemed sorry when she had to [[spoiler:kill the Newborn]].
* TankTopTomboy: What she wears is closer to a futuristic muscle shirt, but close enough, in fact it is pointed out that the design is meant to invoke her being a xeno-human hybrid, seeing as it looks like a xenomorphs torso even with the flared shoulders.

->''"Ellen Ripley died trying to wipe this species out. For all intents and purposes, she succeeded!"''

The commanding military General of the medical research lab where Ripley is being cloned for the alien queen's resurrection.
----
* BoomHeadshot: From a Xenomorph's second jaw no less, and the man doesn't notice it until he checked the back of his head.
* GeneralRipper: He thinks breeding the aliens is a good idea so he must be this.
* GratuitousSpanish: Sprinkles a bit of Spanish in his dialogue such as saying "mi casa es su casa" when going over the rules with Elgyn.
* {{Jerkass}}: Not only does he oversee illegal experiments, he's a dick about it.
* LargeHam: As one reviewer put it, "Dan Hedaya seems to think he's in ''{{Film/Spaceballs}} 2''."
* PetTheDog: he stays behind and helps evacuate an escape pod full of the crew to safety. He then spares the crew of a second pod which has a xenomorph on board by killing them with a grenade and saluting their sacrifice.

->''"[[BlatantLies I think you will find that, uh, things have changed a great deal since your time.]]"''

One of the five scientists who worked on resurrecting the alien queen.
----
* BigBad: Of the fourth film.
* DeadpanSnarker: [[WorldOfSnark Starting to see a pattern yet?]]
* HateSink: Breeding the Xenomorphs wasn't enough, but he also clones Ripley and leaves one clone alive in agony, leaving the other dead ones for his studies. He then attempts to implant facehuggers into deep space travelers while in their stasis pods before [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness killing the space pirates he hired]] under the assumption of there being an infiltrator. In addition to being a {{Jerkass}} toward the group, he [[UngratefulBastard shoots Call when the group tries to help him then abandons them afterwards]].
* {{Jerkass}}: Betrays the group at the first opportunity and is generally unpleasant.
* KarmicDeath: Killed by the chestbuster of one of his victims.
* MadScientist: Breeding xenomorphs and tampering with their DNA can't possibly go wrong!
%%* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Suffers one from Purvis.
* SmugSnake: He still thinks he can order [=DiStephano=] around despite holding a gun to Call's head.

->''"You are... a beautiful, beautiful, butterfly."''

One of five scientists who perform the operation on the Ripley clone to retrieve the queen embryo.
----
* AdmiringTheAbomination: The Newborn, in his words, is a beautiful little baby.
* BoomHeadshot: Killed when the Newborn bites a large chunk out of his skull.
* ForScience: He gives off an air of this.
* LargeHam: Brad Dourif is clearly enjoying himself. Gediman's reaction to the Newborn's birth is by far the hammiest moment in the series.
* MadScientist: Maybe moreso than Wren, Gediman sees himself as the 'father' of the aliens on board. He's delighted when the Newborn thinks of Ripley as its mother and hopes it will see him as a parent figure too.
%%* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate
* NightmareFetishist: The above quote is said to the Human/Alien hybrid.
* SanitySlippage: Becomes extremely unhinged after becoming part of the Queen's hive.
* TalkativeLoon: A handy way to deliver exposition about the Newborn to the audience.
* TemptingFate: It takes a special kind of idiot to do [[WindowLove a window kiss]] to one of the ''aliens''.
* WindowLove: A truly bizarre scene with one of the captive Xenomorphs.

A soldier in the United Systems Military, stationed aboard the Auriga. When the Aliens break out, he joins the crew of the ''Betty'' in their attempt to escape from the ship.
----
* BoomHeadshot: He threatened [[spoiler: the traitorous Dr. Wren with this. The Newborn inflicted it on him with its bare hands]].
* GenkiGuy: Has some shades of it. A deleted scene has him geeking out over Christie's weapons and he's excited to actually meet an [[spoiler: android like Call]].
* HeelFaceTurn: Starts off as a common soldier, but joins the pirates when everything goes to shit.
* MauveShirt: Despite being just a common soldier, he outlasts several major and minor characters [[spoiler:until he’s killed by the Newborn at the very end of the movie.]]
* NiceGuy: Possibly the nicest character in the film.
* PunchClockVillain: Prior to his HeelFaceTurn.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: He defects from the USM and helps the heroes to destroy the aliens and escape.
* SixthRanger: He joins the team rather unexpectedly.

One of the many test subjects who were kidnapped for experimentation and impregnated. Call insists they take him along so they can freeze him in cryostasis, where they can later remove the embryo, and after a brief argument, Christie agrees.
----
* ButtMonkey: Gets very little respect. Also he's a dead man walking.
* DoNotGoGentle: With a Chestburster in the process of emerging from his chest, he goes ballistic on Wren, tanking multiple gunshots and bashing Wren's face against some machinery before forcing him to die together via Chestburster.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Purvis survived multiple gunshots while the chestburster started to come out, beats the shit of Wren, then shoves Wren's head right in front of his chest so that when he died, he took the man responsible for everything that's happened with him.
* FaceFullOfAlienWingWong: Done offscreen.
* HeroicSacrifice: The way he utilizes his ChestBurster for the greater good is a sight to behold.
* HumanResources: Specifically, he and his crew mates are the [[UnusualEuphemism cargo]] that the ''Betty'' delivers to the ''Auriga''.
* HeroicBystander: He becomes this when he uses his last moments to ensure Wren comes with him in death.
* InnocentBystander: Though in the end he takes advantage of his [[ChestBurster impending doom]] to become a HeroicBystander when he dispatches Dr. Wren by placing Wren's head directly ''in front of'' where his chestburster comes out.
* MadeOfIron: Kept a chestburster contained in his body long after all the others killed their host, and takes several pistol shots to the chest from Wren. ''Then'' he proceeds to deliver Wren a brutal beatdown before weaponizing his chestburster to kill him.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: On Wren. Purvis clearly wanted revenge for the whole facehugger thing.
* OnlySaneMan: Illustrated in this exchange after Ripley is taken by Xenomorphs:
-->'''Call:''' It's not right!\
'''Purvis:''' I've been saying that all day.
* TakingYouWithMe: He knows he's going to die, so he takes Dr. Wren with him.
* TookALevelInBadass: Starts off as a terrified civilian, ends up shrugging off multiple pistol rounds and taking out the {{Big Bad}}.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: They shine ever so frightening in a close up when he's curled in the corner as Ripley approaches him. Averted when he turns out to be one of the nicest characters.

* CoveredInGunge: It is covered in amniotic fluids.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: See ExplosiveDecompression below.
* EnfantTerrible: A dangerous, newly born creature with the mindset of a young child.
* ExplosiveDecompression: [[spoiler:It gets slowly sucked into space, in pieces, through a small hole in a window.]]
* FasterThanTheyLook: Despite being newly born, its ungainly-looking gait and body as well as Ripley-8 having a head-start on it, the Newborn makes it to the ''Betty'' almost as soon as Ripley-8 does.
* FinalBoss: The last alien Ripley and Call confront and the final antagonist of the series overall.
* HalfHumanHybrid: It is the result of the Queen getting human DNA, and has human features: a face like a human skull, but with visible eyes, a nose and a mouth without an inner jaw. It's even capable of facial expressions, indicating it may have felt emotions.
* {{Hermaphrodite}}: According to the original special effects model of the Newborn, it has a vagina with a penis wrapped within it, which was/were removed because [[EveryoneHasStandards the film execs and the director agreed it was too much]].
* ItCanThink: When Call encounters the Newborn on the ''Betty'', it understands what she's trying to do, and closes the cargo bay door for her. It also understands and complies with Ripey-8's order to release Call.
* NoNeckChump: Downplayed, as the Newborn can turn its head slightly without turning its entire body, but not completely. Furthermore, it's implied the cylindrical head Xenomorphs have has deformed into the Newborn's back rather than horizontally protrude.
* TheNoseKnows: Every times it interacts with someone, its nose twitches indicating it's sniffing them. It kills the Hybrid Queen, Gediman and [=DiStephano=] after sniffing them, treats Ripley-8 as its mother after sniffing her and seems confused by [[spoiler: the android Call]], though likely ready to kill that one as well.
* OverlyLongTongue: Seen when it acknowledges Ripley-8, it's implied to be retractable.
* SelfMadeOrphan: [[spoiler:Its first act after being born is to kill the Alien Queen. It apparently views the Queen as a disgusting creature, then immediately imprints on Ripley because the Newborn has human-like eyes.]]
* StealthHiBye: Despite being 8 feet tall, it's able to hide from [=DiStephano=] as he entered the cargo bay and then snuck up on him.
* SuperStrength: It truly has this, with strength much higher than any Xenomorph seen up to that point, since it can rip off part of the head of the (larger) Hybrid Queen with a single blow seconds after being born.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Ripley 8. It cannot even ''process'' the idea that its "mommy" would be a danger to it.
