One of the most prestigious schools in Area 11. Lelouch attends and lives there with Nunnally throughout ''R1''. The school has been largely abandoned by the end of ''R1'', with all associated characters having moved on to other prospects.
----
[[folder:In General]]
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Until the events of the Black Rebellion, the majority of the Ashford cast is unaware that several members of the Student Council are involved with either the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance or the Decepticons.
* TrashTheSet: The campus is damaged during the Black Rebellion in a fight between Insecticons and the Autobots and their allies.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: After [[spoiler: all of them became agents in a global AlienInvasion war]], Milly comments that none of them really want to go back to being students after having seen so much more of the world.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Milly Ashford]]
!!Milly Ashford
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/milly.png]]
-> ''"Festivals are necessary, a nice little break from how hard the world can be."''
The Student Council President of Ashford. After the TimeSkip, she joins Shirley in the Intelligence, Espionage, & Public Relations branch of the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: She's little more than an untrained civilian in canon. Here, she displays a degree of combat skill when she performs a rather impressive disarm-and-subdue on Jean Rowe, the personal knight of Shin Hyūga Shaing.
* AdaptationalIntelligence: In canon, Milly showed no signs of making any connection between Lelouch and Zero. Here, she casually reveals to him that she knows he is Zero, listing all the evidence she noticed since Zero's first appearance, and has been [[SecretSecretKeeper keeping quiet about it to everyone]]. Though there are more obvious signs connecting Lelouch to Zero this time around such as [[PaperThinDisguise his "new car" being exactly the same as Bumblebee's vehicle mode]]. This combined with knowledge of his grudge with Britannia allowed her to put two and two together.
* ArchnemesisMom: Milly's mom has been unsuccessfully trying to force her into arranged marriages for a long time in an effort to restore the Ashford Family to greatness, much to her daughter's annoyance. Part of this is because Mrs. Ashford has been unable to convince Milly to try and marry Lelouch, who would then be returned to the royal family, upgrading the Ashfords to royalty. As for how bad their relationship is, Milly -- while undercover with Shirley and Rivalz as a slave in the Fuji Mines -- isn't ''remotely'' concerned about seeing her mother executed at the beginning of ''R2'' by being dropped into a vat of smelting metal.
* AscendedExtra: She joins the Black Knights at the end of the first season.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She gets along with Kaguya, especially when they were discussing 'harem' talks involving Lelouch, Suzaku, and Rai. [[OhCrap The boys weren't as enthusiastic]].
* CompositeCharacter: The Noodle Incident mentioned below, sees her, Shirley, and Rivalz taking Jack, Raf, and Miko's place of getting trapped in the Shadowzone, with her specifically taking Miko's role in being the cause. They're also implied to have gotten themselves into some of the shenanigans the ''Prime'' trio get into off-screen/off-page.
* DamselInDistress: Alongside Rivalz and Nina, she gets kidnapped by Hardshell and two Insecticons just when they were about to depart from Ashford Academy.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Milly loves to gossip, but she will not do so when lives are in danger. See SecretKeeper below.
* {{Expy}}: By ''R2'', she, Shirley, and Rivalz seem to take the role of Jack, Miko, and Raf. Milly herself displays Jack's leadership qualities but has Miko's fun-loving nature (though not her recklessness).
* TheGadfly: She often teases or messes with people to get a reaction out of them. Grindcore jokingly asks if she's a Decepticon, Rivalz commenting that Milly's "a She-Devil all her own." She failed to get a reaction out of Optimus in ''Leave of Absence'' though, much to her disappointment.
* NeutralNoLonger: She Joins the Black Knights in ''Till All Are One'' alongside Rivalz and Nina.
* NoodleIncident: One idea of hers involved assisting Nina, Ratchet, and the Research & Development team with Groundbridges, which led to her, Rivalz, and Shirley getting trapped in the Shadowzone. Thankfully, that happened in the Ark, and nobody got hurt.
* SecretKeeper: She's aware that Lelouch and his sister are former royalty. She also figured out pretty quickly that Lelouch is Zero, but has kept her mouth shut about it. She also keeps quiet about Kallen being half-Japanese.
** SecretSecretKeeper: Lelouch discovered that she knew about him being Zero during the Ashford School Festival.
* ShipperOnDeck: Both teased and pushed Shirley to ask Lelouch out, though the two agreed to stay friends. By ''R2'' she's joined Arcee in supporting Kalulu.
* TakeCareOfTheKids: When Lelouch, Nunnally, and Sayoko are moving to the Ark (Rai moved earlier), Milly asks Bumblebee in a way to look after the siblings, or he'll have to answer to her. The latter gives a honk of acknowledgment since Milly doesn't have a translator.

[[folder:Shirley Fenette]]
!!Shirley Fenette
!!!'''Primary Knightmare:''' Ganymede, Alexander
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shirley_fenetto.jpg]]
-> ''"I can't sit by anymore while you and our friends risk your lives fighting monsters as evil as that. If there's any way I can help, even just a'' '''''tiny''''' ''bit, that's enough for me."''
A member of the Ashford Academy Student Council and Lelouch's friend. During the events of ''R1'', she joins the alliance, and is sorted into the Intelligence, Espionage, & Public Relations branch of the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance.
----
* AscendedExtra: She decides to join the Black Knights in ''Cheering Mao''.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She manages to take out Hardshell with Nina's nuclear reactor-rigged Ganymede, sending him via Groundbridge to Earth's orbit (with Nina herself pressing the trigger). Thankfully, she managed to eject in time.
-->'''Shirley:''' ''[flying the nuclear-rigged Ganymede to send Hardshell into a Groundbridge]'' GET AWAY FROM THEM, YOU MONSTER!
* BrokenPedestal: She originally respected and admired Prince Clovis, but after she joined the Black Knights and learned how he caused a massacre in Shinjuku she lost virtually all respect she had for him, and by extension most of the Royal Family too. She actually needs to force herself to refer to Clovis as "Prince Clovis" in public because of this.
* CompositeCharacter:
** Just like with Jack's mom June, she's in awe when introduced to the Autobots for the first time - especially Optimus.
** Takes Miko's role in kickstarting the events of ''TMI'', both literally and figuratively. A difference between her and Miko however, is while Miko just wanted to see the Autobots fighting, Shirley wanted to try and contribute more to the cause.
** Like with Miko, she (alongside Nina) also takes out Hardshell.
** A NoodleIncident during the time skip had her, Milly, and Rivalz taking Jack, Raf, and Miko's place in getting trapped in the Shadowzone.
* DamselInDistress: Mao kidnaps her in ''What is Evil?'' in order to lure Lelouch into a trap, and would have killed her if not for Rai and Bumblebee arriving in time.
* {{Expy}}: She, Milly, and Rivalz eventually become the story's equivalent to the ''Prime'' animated series' trio of children. Shirley mostly assumes Miko's role in being the most passionate to involve herself in missions.
** Her desire to help more may seem reminiscent of [[Anime/TransformersCybertron Lori Jimenez]].
** She falls under the archetype of [=Iron117Prime=] characters shared by [[Franchise/{{Frozen}} Anna]] in ''Frozen Turtles'', being a minor character with little combat experience who deeply wants to help the heroes whenever they can.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Kallen - Shirley is calm, emotionally fragile, and wouldn't hurt a fly, while Kallen has quite a temper, has an unbreakable will to fight, and is the best Knightmare pilot among the Black Knights. Despite this, they actually get along very well. Romantically, Shirley is the Betty and Kallen the Veronica to Lelouch's Archie.
** To Euphemia - both are kind, caring women who are love interests to one of the human protagonists. As for differences, Euphie is a princess while Shirley is implied to be a commoner, and Shirley is mostly uninvolved in the conflict between Britannia and the Black Knights/Autobots at first while Euphie tends to be close to the front lines even if she absolutely hates fighting. As for their love interests, Lelouch prefers to be JustFriends with Shirley, while Suzaku and Euphie admit their feelings for each other and become a couple in ''R2''.
* GuileHeroine: She has more moments of heroism where she uses her words and/or brains than engaging in a fight. In ''Nunnally Held Hostage'', she endeared the Autobots to the entire student body of Ashford Academy by proclaiming that they had saved the school from a terrorist (which is technically true, given that Mao had Nunnally attached to a bomb). And in ''R2'', she, Rivalz and Milly infiltrated the Fuji mines to rescue the slaves there, by disguising themselves as slaves.
* HassleFreeHotwire: In ''Tunnel Vision'' Shirley was able to hotwire a train car. Something she's apparently picked up for helping the resistance.
* TheHeart: Like in canon, she's definitely one of the nicest people in this series, and for good reason.
** In ''Facade of Blood'', she volunteered to assist Nunnally (alongside Sayoko and Ratchet) to help redeem Suzaku.
** ''Fall of Britannia'' has her assist Ratchet and Bumblebee in rescuing Milly, Rivalz, and Nina from Hardshell and his Insecticons, regardless of her lack of combat training. She also alerts Monica (via text) for assistance.
** She manages to convince Nina to not destroy the Tokyo Settlement with the armed Ganymede in ''Rise of the Decepticons'' for Euphemia's sake.
** In ''R2's'' opening chapter, ''The Renewed Revolution'', during the infiltration of the Decepticons' communication center in Mt. Fuji, she reports in her message to Zero that Guilford is alive and with them, noting Cornelia would be happy to hear that. After working as a slave in the mines for six months, that was the break Guilford needed.
** In ''Siege of Castle Weisswolf'', despite nearly getting shot by her two chapters ago, Shirley was able to convince Jean Rowe to stand down and undergo a HeelFaceTurn, noting specifically how they're both blindly loyal to someone they love who doesn't love them back.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: In ''Setting the Stage'', Shirley comes clean about her crush on Lelouch to him. Lelouch however tells her that he has always considered the two of them to be JustFriends. [[LoveHurts While disappointed that Lelouch doesn't reciprocate her feelings]], she is nonetheless content and encourages him to keep looking for someone to share his life with.
* InternalReveal: Lelouch tells her everything about him, his Geass, and the Cybertronians in ''What is Evil?''.
* ItsAllMyFault: Poor Shirley was in tears, blaming herself after her attempts to contribute more to the Autobots and Black Knights almost resulted in the loss of Bulkhead. Thankfully, he recovered, and the organization obtained the formula for Synthetic Energon (albeit incomplete).
* JustFriends: With Lelouch - even after he gently rejects her feelings, while disappointed, Shirley was happy to be part of his world, no matter how dangerous, even as a friend.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Lelouch deliberately leaves her in the dark about his double-life because he doesn't want to hurt her. After certain events in his double life end up causing her harm anyway, though, he comes clean to her in ''What is Evil?''.
* MyCountryTisOfTheeThatISting: After learning of Lelouch and Nunnally's past, as well as why Kallen is with the Black Knights, along with knowing the suffering of many people, Shirley feels ashamed to be Britannian, and can no longer follow Charles. This is what leads to her joining the Black Knights.
* NeutralNoLonger: After the events of Chapters 17 through 20 in ''R1'', learning the truth about Lelouch, the Black Knights, Britannia, and the Cybertronians, Shirley decides she can no longer sit on the sidelines and decides to join the Black Knights to oppose the Decepticons.
* NiceGirl: Just like in canon, Shirley is a thoroughly kindhearted and thoughtful young woman.
* OfficialCouple: With Rai.
* RecurringElement: Shirley is an AscendedExtra who wishes to do more in this fanfic ([[Fanfic/FairyMayCry Lisanna Strauss]]) and ends up nearly screwing over certain missions sent by the protagonists ([[Fanfic/FrozenTurtles Anna]]).
* RelationshipUpgrade: At the end of the ''R2'' chapter ''Make Them Hurt'' [[spoiler:she and Rai become a couple.]]
* ShipTease: Gets a ton with Rai - he tends to interact with her almost as much as Lelouch does, and has much more emotional reactions when she is in danger. And after Mao attacks Ashford, she has no problem letting him stay at her house. Much later, when Rai is breaking down in light of all his memories being back, Shirley is notably the first who reassures him of all the good he's done. This eventually culminates in the two of them confessing their feelings for each other in ''Make Them Hurt''.
* TheShrink: During the epilogue, Shirley decides to become a therapist so she can help those that were left traumatized by the war.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Despite continuing to fall into dangerous situations, Shirley in this story is an important side character who's well outlived her life in canon.
* TearsOfJoy:
** In the ''R1'' chapter ''TMI'', she cries alongside Rai when Bulkhead wakes up from his coma.
** In the ''R2'' chapter ''A United Front Facing the Dark Horizon'', after Nonette relays a message Anya passed on to her, Shirley was emotionally overwhelmed when she realised her father was still alive.
** This also happens in ''War on Geass'' when she and her father are finally reunited.
* ThatsGottaHurt: In ''Cheering Mao'', just like with Ohgi, Shirley also holds her own throat in horror after Kallen explains to her that Megatron was responsible for ripping out Bumblebee's voicebox.
* TokenEnemyMinority: She's a Britannian and a member of the Black Knights. {{Downplayed}}, though, because she's not the ''only'' Britannian Black Knight, but she is the only major named one other than Lelouch and Diethard. Then by the end of ''R1'' and the start of ''R2'', many more Britannians have joined the Black Knights, to the point they equal the Japanese members.
* TraumaCongaLine: Chapters 17 to 19 of ''R1'' put her through the wringer, to put it bluntly.
** The line starts in Chapter 17, ''Messenger from Kyoto'', when she learns that her father was killed by the landslide caused during the battle of Narita. What makes it sadder is, unlike in canon [[SparedbytheAdaptation he survived but was captured by Shockwave and Soundwave, with only his lab coat remaining]].
** Chapter 18, ''What is Justice?'', continues with her being caught in the middle of the battle of Port Yokosuka, and learning that [[spoiler:Lelouch, the boy she loves, is Zero, the man who was responsible for her father's (supposed) death.]] [[NotHisSled While Bumblebee is the one to shoot Villetta,]] Shirley almost did like in canon and it takes a toll on her.
** The line ends in Chapter 19, ''What is Evil?'', when Mao shows up, mocks her with his mind-reading Geass, and tries to manipulate her into killing Lelouch and Nunnally, like in canon. Unlike in canon, Mao realizes Shirley loves Lelouch too much and resorts to knocking her out with chloroform, [[BoundandGagged tying her up,]] and nearly killing her in front of Lelouch. While Rai and Bumblebee save her, her experience is traumatizing, as she nearly has a panic attack when Mao returns in ''Nunnally Held Hostage''.
* UndyingLoyalty: Makes it clear to Lelouch in ''Setting the Stage'' that she'll always be by his side.
--> '''Shirley''': Even if by some chance that the whole world should somehow turn against you, I won't. I won't abandon you, not now, not ever.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: Despite being a high schooler, and not exactly a genius, Shirley's been responsible for talking down two different hostile females, and is full of understanding about the symbolic power the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance can have in the world.
* {{Xenafication}}: Downplayed. She didn't exactly do that much of a proactive action role in canon (either the show or the compilation movies), but recent events in the story somehow take it up to this. Notably, she's the one who kills Hardshell by sending him through space with a nuke attached and is the one to induce a HeelFaceTurn in Jean Rowe.

[[folder:Rivalz Cardemonde]]
!!Rivalz Cardemonde
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rivalz.png]]
-> ''"Well, what are we waiting around for then?! This is my day to shine!"''
A member of the Ashford Academy Student Council. In ''R2'', he becomes part of the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance, working in Intelligence, Espionage, & Public Relations.
----
* AscendedExtra: Becomes a member of the Black Knights in ''Till All Are One''.
* CompositeCharacter: A NoodleIncident during the time skip, had him, Milly, and Shirley taking Jack, Raf, and Miko's place getting trapped in the Shadowzone.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Is completely surprised in ''Till All Are One'' when he learns Lelouch and Nunnally are royalty, and Lelouch is also Zero.
--> '''Rivalz''': Seriously, that's all just so crazy!
* DistressedDude: He, Milly, and Nina didn't get far from the Student Council Clubhouse when Hardshell and two Insecticons kidnap them.
* {{Expy}}: Rivalz, Shirley, and Milly basically become a squad together after joining the Black Knights in ''R2'' and share a dynamic not dissimilar to teenage trio of the ''Prime'' animated series, Rivalz himself sharing Jack and Raf's more passive and sensible composure compared to Milly and Shirley.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Has no idea that four of his classmates are Black Knights (with one being Zero), while another one pilots the Lancelot. While he does learn of Suzaku being the Lancelot's pilot, like the rest of Area 11/Japan's population in ''Knights and Miracle Workers'', he still has no idea that Lelouch, Kallen, Rai, and Shirley are in the Black Knights, and that Lelouch is Zero. He doesn't even know that Milly knows Lelouch's secret, having figured it out by herself. But he has become suspicious in recent chapters, feeling that something weird is going on with them. He later learns everything after being saved and brought to the Ark during the Black Rebellion.
* NiceGuy: Rivalz is nothing but friendly and civil to anyone he meets, even towards an Eleven/Japanese like Suzaku.
* NeutralNoLonger: He joins the Black Knights with Milly and Nina at the end of ''R1''.
* PluckyComicRelief: Typically, he's around for the lighter, humorous moments at Ashford Academy, and later Horai Island.
* UnluckyEverydude: Not much goes well for him (especially not in regards to his UnrequitedLove for Milly). At least in his case, it's [[PlayedForLaughs pure comedy.]] Rai even considered introducing him to Ironhide or even Ratchet just so [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan they could knock the drama queen out of him.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nina Einstein]]
!!Nina Einstein
!!!'''Primary Knightmare:''' Ganymede, Alexander
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nina_einsteins_9.jpg]]
-> ''"If... if you say it's what Princess Euphemia would want... then I'll help too."''
A member of the Ashford Student Council. In ''R2'' she becomes a member of the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance's Research & Development Branch.
----
* AdaptationalHeroism: Due to being talked out of getting revenge for Euphemia's sake during the Black Rebellion, and joining the Black Knights at the end of ''R1'', Nina's character appears to be veering away from what it was in canon.
* AdaptedOut: The infamous Table-kun scene, mainly because [[EveryoneHasStandards the Author thought it was too creepy]].
* BewareTheQuietOnes: Nina often works on her computers and doesn't talk much with others, but she managed to build a nuclear bomb, and was able to kill Hardshell with it.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The reason for her affection for/obsession with Euphemia (conveniently ignoring Rai's contributions).
* CharacterDevelopment: In ''R1'', Nina was a shy, socially awkward young girl with a fear of the Japanese people and the Cybertronians. After the TimeSkip to ''R2'', she's working alongside the Japanese and the Autobots she once feared, and is a lot more social and kindhearted, in hopes of changing for the better.
* CompositeCharacter: She and Shirley share Miko's role in eliminating Hardshell. Nina also to an extent takes Raf's role as the shy, academic one in her circle of friends.
* DamselInDistress: Gets kidnapped along with Milly and Rivalz by Hardshell and two Insecticons.
* {{Expy}}:
** Though she's no longer as involved with the main trio when it comes to missions due to being in R&D, Nina is clearly meant to be the [[TechnoWizard Raf]] of the group.
** She serves as a central human companion with regards to a remarkable IQ and a genius in electronics and computer programming, almost like an abled [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers Chip Chase]], complete with sporting glasses.
* FantasticRacism: She really ''does not'' like Japanese people, though she mainly fears them rather than holding them in contempt. She's also afraid of the Cybertronians, Autobot, and Decepticon alike. The end of ''R1'' has her begin to move past this, but it is clear she has a long way to go. By the time of ''R2'', she's come to terms with it and has no noticeable issues working with the Autobots and the Japanese.
* HeelRealization: Shirley helps her realize in ''Rise of the Decepticons'' the atrocities of Britannia and the Decepticons and not all the Japanese are like Kusakabe's JLF faction, while also realizing that Euphemia would not want her to kill herself and take the Tokyo Settlement with her just for the princess's sake.
* NeutralNoLonger: She joins the Black Knights with Rivalz and Milly and the end of ''Till All Are One''.
* NotSoAboveItAll: She helps Nunnally get Lloyd, Rakshata, and Fixit to work together once their egos get too big for everyone to handle.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: She was about to begin one near the end of ''Fall of Britannia'' against the Decepticons to avenge Euphemia. [[spoiler:Shirley manages to talk her out of it in ''Rise of the Decepticons''.]]
* SheCleansUpNicely: She switches to her canonical ''R2'' appearance between stories, and looks much better as a result. The difference between her wardrobe in canon and here is instead of the white cloak she wore working for Schneizel, she wears a black cloak with the [[AdaptationalHeroism Autobot-Black Knight insignia]] proudly emblazoned on the back.
* TheSmartGirl: Nina is very intelligent for someone who hasn't even graduated yet, to the point Lloyd trusted her with a working nuclear reactor. Granted, she briefly went crazy and almost nuked the city out of revenge, but it still helped in taking out Hardshell. Later in the Ark, Nina is the one who suggests piggybacking on the Decepticons' rallying message to call for Autobot reinforcements. ''Ratchet'' outright calls her a genius for this. In the ''R2'' chapter ''Siege of Castle Weisswolf'', Nina flies into space to hijack the Anti-Groundbridge satellite above said castle, which the Autobots rig so that the Decepticons think it's still working. In''Red Triage'' also has her and Ratchet work on a virus (implanted into Laserbeak) that will transmit the Iacon Relic Database from the Decepticons' network to Horai Island's mainframe.
* StalkerWithACrush: Still just as enamored with Euphemia as she was in canon. [[spoiler:She largely [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy gets over it]] by the EU arc of ''R2'', accepting Euphie is happy with Suzaku.]]
* TooDumbToLive: Sure, utter a racial slur among terrorists who would be glad for any excuse to shoot her (Granted, she didn't seem to be thinking very rationally at the time). She would've died if not for Rai's, and later Euphemia's, intervention. [[spoiler:Thankfully by the time of ''R2'', she grows out of her racism.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nunnally vi Britannia]]
!!Nunnally Lamperouge / Nunnally vi Britannia
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nunnally_r1.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Spoilers for after ''R1'':]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nunnally_0.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]
-> ''"I wish the world was a gentler place."''
Lelouch's younger sister, former Princess of Britannia, and an honorary member of the Ashford Student Council. Despite being blinded and crippled from a terrible event in her childhood, she holds on to her wish for a more peaceful world, causing Lelouch to go the distance to fulfill her wish. After Lelouch reveals his identity as Zero and explains everything involving the war against Britannia and the Decepticons, she joins the Grand Alliance, finding not only remedies for her injuries, but also a real father in Optimus Prime.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Nunnally is far less of a pawn in this story. She's given extra protection due to Lelouch trusting his allies more and is brought into the main plot in a different but more active way. And then post TimeSkip, she even gets involved in the minutia of field work during the war with the Decepticons.
* AllLovingHeroine: Nunnally has an innate compassion for others, even when she's called in to face true evil in the form of the Decepticons.
* BadassPacifist: Nunnally hasn't even thrown a punch. But in the face of her enemies, she doesn't even flinch.
* BatmanGambit:
** In ''Nerves of Steel'' she engineers a situation involving a "malfunctioning" Ion Cannon (with her hairpin) to get Fixit, Rakshata, and Lloyd to stop squabbling.
** She does it again in ''Tunnel Vision'', when after she learns that Springload is among the Decepticons looking for the Iacon relic in Paris she creates a plan that uses his obsession with the city of Doradus against him, luring him away from the other Decepticons and distracting him long enough to finally kill him.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Nunnally is without a doubt one of the kindest and most patient people in the series, but even she has her limits. In ''Nerves of Steel'', when she gets tired of all the bickering between Lloyd, Rakshata, and Fixit, Nunnally actually ''yells'' at them to stop fighting. And when they don't listen, she comes up with a plan to get them to work together by faking a serious situation with a "malfunctioning" ion cannon. Everybody who knows Nunnally well is completely surprised at her outburst (except for Sayoko who looks at her proudly).
--> '''Nina''': I've... never seen Nunnally lose her temper before.\
'''Kaguya''': I know, I kinda like it.
** Additionally, when Sayoko kills Colonel Madd, Nunnally gives a venomous affirmation over whether he should have been killed, clearly angry at him for his treatment of Alice and her friends.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Both Nunnally and Optimus possess a near inhuman amount of patience and kindheartedness, which is why Lelouch was inwardly ecstatic when the two finally meet in ''Facade of Blood''.
* BreakTheCutie: Poor Nunnally was left sobbing when Megatron sadistically reveals the truth of her mother's role in the original Ragnarök Connection.
* DamselInDistress:
** Mao kidnaps her and straps her to a live bomb to lure out Lelouch.
** Soundwave kidnaps her and Cera at the end of ''The Calm Before the Storm'' to provide extra leverage against Lelouch.
* {{Determinator}}: When Optimus was about to join the Allspark in ''The New Prime'', it's Nunnally who was determined not to lose her [[ParentalSubstitute father]], resorting to trying to use the Forge of Solus Prime to revive him. Though she was unable to move it due to her size, her resolve was enough for Ratchet, Milly, Shirley, Nina, Rivalz, Cecile, Perceptor and a still-amnesiac Cera to help fit the hammer into the Prime's hand, resulting in his resurrection.
--> '''Nunnally''': I am not letting him go! I refuse to let it end this way!
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: Despite her compassionate nature being on Par with that of Optimus himself, even she hates Megatron for his laundry list of atrocities he has committed and the people who have suffered and/or died because of him. She outright says she will hate him forever to his face when Soundwave kidnaps her and Cera.
* EveryonesBabySister: Because of being ill, she tends to have this effect on the people who know her, being an honorary member of the Student Council despite being in middle school, and Kallen, Bumblebee and Rai eventually becoming honorary big siblings to her. Becomes a bit more literal though when Rai regains his memories. As Kaizaren von Britannia, he is in fact Nunnally's older half-brother.
* HiddenDepths: Underneath her soft exterior, she shares a lot of similarities with Lelouch. She's clever and iron-willed, and also carries a lot of residual resentment from Charles abandoning them after their mother died. While she mostly keeps this under control in not wanting to lash out at others, when she begins taking the field with the Black Knights, that anger manifests, showing she is more than ready to fight for the better world just like her older brother, their foster father and the rest of their newfound family.
* InTheBlood: ''Tunnel Vision'' sees Nunnally show the same knack for tactics that Lelouch has. Using nothing but what she saw of her surroundings and what she knows about how Knock Out and Springload think, she devises a devious BatmanGambit to kill the latter and allow the Autobots to defeat the former. She also shares her brother's sheer willpower, being able to shake off the effects of Charles's Geass, which kept her blind, and fearlessly calling out Megatron for all his atrocities even when she and Cera are his prisoners.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: She was unaware that her brother is Zero and working with the Autobots. [[spoiler:''What is Evil?'' reveals that Lelouch intended to let her in the loop, though.]] Unfortunately, things kept happening, and he only got a chance to fully explain the situation to her in ''The Patch Paradox''. When he did tell her, Nunnally reveals that she suspected Lelouch was Zero ever since his debut, having recognized his voice, but didn't want to believe it.
* NervesOfSteel: Having been introduced into the world of the war in ''R2'', Nunnally has gained a real spine, even standing up to two evil soldiers and proclaiming that even without human heroes, the world will always have Optimus Prime to rally behind. And remember, she's a strict non-combatant at this time. She later has even greater showing when, despite being Megatron's prisoner, she fearlessly calls him out for his atrocities and declares her undying hatred for him.
* NiceGirl: As in canon, Nunnally has a compassionate nature that can only be matched by [[AllLovingHero Optimus]].
* PartingWordsRegret: After hearing about her mother creating Ragnarök alongside her father, Nunnally disowns Marianne as the last thing she says to her. However, after hearing that she helped save Lelouch's life as a final act of redemption, she comes to regret that they parted on such bad terms.
-->'''Nunnally:''' The last words I said to her... were that I'll never forgive her... and maybe she did do things that I'll never forgive but... I... is it wrong that I regret that?
* SecretSecretKeeper: As Lelouch finally confesses to her that he's Zero, Nunnally tearfully reveals she already had her suspicions from the first time she heard his voice broadcasted.
* ShipperOnDeck: Nunnally thinks there's a spark between Lelouch and Kallen. As she puts it to Cera:
--> '''Nunnally''': I may be blind, but I'm not stupid.
** She also supports Suzaku and Euphemia, saying that they make a nice couple. And she smiled with Kallen when Elita One talked about her past with Optimus.
* SpannerInTheWorks: She ends up being the one who causes the Geass Order to collapse and for the destruction of the natural Thought Elevators. If she hadn’t of insisted on going to rescue Shirley’s father, the Alliance wouldn’t have taken out Madd and Arkeville, which would mean that the Red Pawns wouldn’t have been shut down, and Shockwave’s ambush would have most likely had succeeded.
* ThrowingOffTheDisability: ''Till All Are One'', Nunnally manages to break Charles's Geass and open her eyes again through a combination of her own will and exposure to the Matrix of Leadership. When ''R2'' starts up, she's able to walk again thanks to exoskeletal leg braces. ''Nerves of Steel'' reveals that the braces and nanotechnology are slowly healing her legs, so she'll eventually be able to walk again on her own. In ''The United Federation of Nations'', Nunnally finally regains her usage of her legs, much to her joy.

-> ''"Lelouch, both you and your sister are very dear to me, and I swear that I will never leave your side or hers."''
Lelouch and Nunnally's loyal maid who's also a ninja. She joins the Black Knights in ''R1'' to keep an eye on Lelouch. In ''R2'', she becomes Nunnally's bodyguard.
----
* BadassNormal: Despite being a normal human with no Geass, no Knightmare piloting skills, and no cybernetic enhancements, Sayoko is capable of holding her own against more dangerous and powerful threats.
** With nothing but martial arts and small blades she kills Frenzy, one of Soundwave's Mini-Cons that's given Knightmares and Autobots a hard time.
** In ''Tunnel Vision'', she also helps kill Springload by pinning the Amphiboid's tongue with a rod and kunai to the Paris subway's third rail, electrocuting him to death.
** In ''Light and Darkness'', she [[spoiler:kills off Colonel Madd by headshotting him with a kunai.]]
* BadassTeacher: During the TimeSkip, Sayoko, alongside Tohdoh, trains Lelouch in fighting.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Sayoko is a kind and caring woman, but she is also a NinjaMaid capable of kicking ass. She's able to kill Frenzy in ''Battle for the Ark'', and Lelouch's thoughts on the training he received from her and Tohdoh is implied to have been anything but easy.
* BoringButPractical: Sayoko infiltrates the Black Knights to keep an eye on Lelouch by simply filling out an application rather than using her Ninja skills.
* {{Meido}}: She works as Lelouch's maid, doing domestic chores when she isn't doing ninja-maid ones. When ''R2'' starts up, she transitions into being Nunnally's bodyguard.
* NinjaMaid: Provides the trope's page image. She serves as Lelouch and Nunnally's maid, and is skilled in martial arts, and utilizes ninja weapons in battle. During the TimeSkip between ''R1'' and ''R2'', Sayoko turns in her maid outfit for a kunoichi one, and trains Lelouch alongside Tohdoh.
* [[NotHisSled Not Her Sled]]: Bumblebee was the one who plays the recording to fool Kallen this time.
* NotSoAboveItAll: [[spoiler:Even Sayoko was in absolute awe and wonder when she sees [[TheParagon Optimus Prime]] for the first time. C.C. even teases her about it]]:
--> '''C.C.''': [[spoiler:Close that mouth, you're drooling.]]
* ParentalSubstitute: She is the closest thing Lelouch and Nunnally have to a mother-figure in the main narrative, despite their mother was still alive in a way
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler:She's aware that Lelouch is Zero, and had joined the Black Knights of her own volition to further assist him]].
** SecretSecretKeeper: [[spoiler:Lelouch only finds this out when he reveals that he is Zero to Nunnally, as Sayoko saw no reason to concern her master with this tidbit. The majority of the Black Knights are unaware of this, to the point Diethard promises to introduce her to Zero later.]]
* SoProudOfYou: [[spoiler:In ''Nerves of Steel'' she smiles proudly when Nunnally steps up to try and stop Lloyd, Fixit, and Rakshata's petty fighting.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: Just like in canon, Sayoko's devotion to Lelouch and Nunnally is unquestionable.
* VillainKiller: Despite being a regular human with no Knightmare piloting skills or Geass, she's managed to kill three villains by herself: Frenzy, Springload, and [[spoiler:Colonel Madd.]]

!!Arthur
[[quoteright:262:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arthur_46.jpg]]
-> ''"Meow."''
Originally a stray cat that Euphemia befriended, he eventually wanders to Ashford Academy and is adopted by the Student Council. He's usually seen with Suzaku and is constantly biting him. Six months after ''R1'', he's currently living in the Ark alongside the Student Council.
----
* AnimalNemesis: Supposedly this for Suzaku as he tends to bite him whenever they're in the same room together. [[WordOfGod The creators of Code Geass said that Arthur does like Suzaku, and his bites are a way of showing affection.]]
* CuteKitten: Serves as this for the story, like in canon.
* EvilDetectingCat: [[spoiler:He hisses at the sight of the Insecticons. This also includes the Dark Energon-infused Burai in ''Spark of Darkness''.]]
* {{Mascot}}: Is made this for the Ashford Student Council when they adopt him.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Arthur's role in the story is the same in canon as the mascot of Ashford Academy's student council, but the incident where he runs around Ashford wearing Lelouch's Zero mask is recorded by Soundwave, which allows Megatron to figure out Zero's true identity.
