On day 20, the first six eliminated got the chance to come back into the game for a single, three-team immunity challenge. If they won, they got to vote two people back in and join the merged tribe with a free immunity the next round. If they came second, they got to vote in one person for the same reward. If they lost, all their chances of winning were buried completely.

They won it, so both their former tribes had to send somebody home. The votes ultimately went to Lillian and Burton, who were originally voted out 3rd and 4th, but went on to far outstay many of their tribemates.

->Age/ home/ job: 28/ Fort Lewis, Washington/ office assistant
->Tribe: Drake -> Balboa
----
* Anti Heroine: The kind of person who would not attempt to be coercive with people unless they rightfully deserved it. And this is before she learned to quietly groom people to her advantage by acting nice and congenial just to lure them into a false sense of security and then manipulate them. Her record of success comes from the fact that she's very furtive and crafty, but learns to hide it well.
* BadassBoast: Her WhamLine below was the first ever time Fairplay's "Dead Grandma" ploy failed to convince someone he was being truthful (which, of course, he wasn't). Her refusal to believe Jon and stick the woman's alliance together was the ultimate event that turned the game around for the three remaining women against Jon and Burton.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: With Rupert and Christa - she was Brains.
* BornWinner: Across her two winning seasons, she had only one vote counted against her (plus two negated by an idol in Heroes vs. Villains).
* BreakoutCharacter: Alongside Fairplay and Rupert, remains one of the most recognizable Survivor players to this day. Additionally, unlike those two, her reputation has improved, if anything.
* TheCassandra: Talk about MeaningfulName. She could tell the others bought Jon's grandma ploy so hard that she didn't dare to accuse him outright.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: "I was like ohhhh shit." Survivor players aren't often known for swearing in confessional, least of all the first confessional of the season.
* FlawlessVictory: She had a NoDamageRun and won in a landslide vote of 6-1.
* Griefer: Almost immediately after Rupert's blindside, she dumps all the fish that he'd caught for the tribe as revenge. Then, in the penultimate episode she decided to start hiding the camp equipment, believing that she was the next to go - it was only because of Lill deciding to betray Jon and Burton that she cut short that plan.
* Guile Heroine: Gets to the end using her social skills a lot more than her athletic abilities.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: With her ally Rupert.
* ImNotHereToMakeFriends: She doesn't outright say it, but her style of play both averts this and plays it straight at the same time. As she says, she would vote out anyone so long as it wasn't her. She was perfectly okay making friends, but if it advanced her in the game, she wouldn't think twice before stabbing them in the back and would have no regrets about doing so. Nowhere is this clearer than when she dumps all the tribe's fish and lets her friend and ally Christa be blamed. Still, she certainly never casts a vote for either of her two main allies.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She could be abrasive and rude, but she did care about the people she befriended.
* TheLoad: In some challenges, particularly anything that involves swimming, as she admitted at the reunion.
* TheLancer: She could be considered this to Rupert's hero, especially considering that she was the one to finally take down Burton and pave the way for Jon's elimination.
* Lady Swearsalot: While she's nearly as bad as Fairplay in this regard, half their dialogue consists of sound effects in the early episodes.
--> "You know what, I CAN GET LOUD TOO, WHAT THE F%#K!"
--> "Where the f$%k is the water jug?"
--> "Where's that snake mother f#$ker Jon?! I tell you what, no one can trust that f$%king bitch right there, I never trusted you from day one and you can't be trusted, ladies he cannot be trusted! He will backstab you in a f%$king heartbeat like he did in everybody here!"
* LivingLieDetector: The only one to see through Fairplay's dead grandma lie.
* TheNapoleon: Short
* NoDamageRun: Not one vote to her name this time around.
* PluckyGirl: Doesn't tend to perform well in challenges, but uses her wits to stick the whole way through.
* RedOniBlueOni: She and Rupert are different flavors of red to their friend Christa's blue.
* SoleSurvivor: Her first.
* SpicyLatina
* TalkingYourWayOut %%Please be more specifc.
* TrueNeutral: Invoked - she frequently said that she'd vote for anyone, as long as it wasn't her.
** Averted with Johnny Fairplay, Burton, and eventually Russell, all of whom she attempted to have eliminated for personal reasons.
** She was also exceptionally good friends with Rupert. The DVD commentary for Pearl Islands reveals that she and Christa planned to burn down the shelter and throw snakes at Johnny Fairplay once he got Rupert Eliminated. (Apparently the Mattress wouldn't catch fire)
* WhamLine: "And in my head, and mumbling under my breath, I was like 'I swear on my two kids that I'm gonna screw you [Jon] and Burton.'"

->Age/ home/ job: 51/ Loveland, Ohio/ scoutmaster
->Tribe: Morgan -> The Outcasts -> Balboa
----
* Back From Elimination: Originally voted out 3rd, in what would have been 14th place.
* BeingGoodSucks: She was constantly lambasted at the Final Tribal Council for her choice of wearing her scout master uniform. Of course, she didn't know she would be playing the game with it.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She may be a PerpetualFrowner and easily upset, but during the final immunity, she grows giant cannonballs of steel. She even taunts Jon as he tries to cut a deal with her.
* ButtMonkey
* CoolOldLady: The Oldest contestant this season.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: See ShutUpHannibal.
** Her uniform and her personality made most people write her off as being in over her head but after her return to the game she voted out the entire jury (and Savage), backstabbing several of them, and her social isolation meant she didn't have strong ties to any alliance and gave her considerable power in the game.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Outright defied. It seemed like this would be the case when Savage decided he only wanted alpha males on his tribe, but she came back as an outcast by winning a challenge with her team, and clawed her way to the final 2, kicking Fairplay's ass along the way.
* HiddenDepths: In episode 1, it's clear she's a better strategist than you'd assume at first when she gets Nicole out.
** She seems to credit her success in the Final Immunity Challenge to her experience with yoga.
* HonorBeforeReason: Taking Sandra to the finals. She probably would have won if she'd taken Fairplay to the finals, as she had Tijuana's vote against Sandra and knew Sandra, Rupert and Christa all hated Jon. (It is debatable... the jury wasn't exactly fond of her either)
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Skinny Ryan.
* Irony: She's voted out for being weak at challenges. At the end of the season, she defeats the notorious Johnny Fairplay to kick him out.
* NeverMessWithGranny: Zigzagged throughout, as Lil has an early elimination followed by an impressive comeback, but then shows herself to be easily manipulated. She finally plays it straight during the Final Immunity Challenge (see below).
* PerpetualFrowner: Some fans, including popular Survivor content creator Mario Lanza, dub it the "Lill Face."
* PoorCommunicationKills: Doesn't exactly do the strongest job at the final tribal council.
* ProneToTears: VERY much so. Always looks like she is on the brink of crying, and does so very often
* PluckyGirl
* She's Back
* ShutUpHannibal: To Jon at the final immunity challenge:
-->Jon: "Lill, you wanna make a deal right now?"\
Lillian: "No sir!"\
Jon: "You're crazy."\
Lillian: "My daughter wants to be a doctor."\
Jon: "Do you understand how the-"\
Lillian: "Jon, don't talk to me."\
Jon: "DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THE DEALS WORK, LILL?"\
Lillian: "Shut. Up."
* TeamMom: Evident at the very end of the season - the reason she chose Sandra as who to take to the finals was because she knew she would lose anyway, and she didn't want to be responsible if Jon won the million dollars and indulged himself to death. She may have lost Survivor, but she may have saved Jon's life. %%Do you have a source for this or did you just guess this yourself? If it's legit, very interesting. If not, please remove it.
* TheDogBitesBack: Morgan voted her out. She returned and proceeded to be the deciding factor in getting rid of all of them but Ryno.
** Ultimately does this to Fairplay. He spends a good chunk of the season being a jerk to her, and in the final immunity challenge, she pretty much destroys him in the most humiliating way and later votes him off at tribal council.
* TheEeyore: Take a picture of her face at any point during the series - nine times out of ten, she'll be frowning and unhappy.

->Age/ home/ job: 29/ Los Angeles, California/ art consultant
->Tribe: Drake
----
* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: The two remaining women talk about how much they hated him after he's voted off.
* BigBad: The most clearly defined villain Survivor ever had up to that point.
* BrainsEvilBrawnGood: Contrast him with the season's main hero, Rupert.
* BreakoutCharacter: Still remembered as the most infamous villain to ever play until Russell Hantz came along.
* CardCarryingVillain: He deliberately plays up his alter ego "Jonny Fairplay" to the audience as well as to the other survivors. A year later after All Stars ended, he looked very pleased when he won the "Best Villain" award during "America's Tribal Council."
* TheChessmaster: Jonny Fairplay remains to this day one of the most dangerous players to have ever played Survivor. His ability to manipulate people to his advantage was a tactic he copied and perfected from Rob Cesternino the previous season, who was equally vicious.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder
* ConsummateLiar: Infamously claimed that his grandma died during filming to generate sympathy votes. He immediately admitted the lie during a confessional, but some members of the production team including Jeff didn't find out. Only after the filming concluded was it revealed that she was alive and well, due to 'answering the Dalton Family's home phone' -- the purpose of the call was apparently for the team to offer their condolences. As if that wasn't egregious enough, Grandma Fairplay even gets briefly interviewed at the live season finale.
* CryingWolf: Very memorably -- see the grandma incident. %%If it's so memorable, then how did it happen? The grandma thing? Does that count if there isn't an event where the "wolf" is real and no one believes him? I just added the grandma because it was the closest thing I could think of.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: During the first several episodes, Jon starts out rather low-key compared to the SlimeBall personality his nickname would suggest. He even acts as an ally of sorts to Rupert, Sandra, and Christa, and votes alongside them.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: "I go by the moniker of Jonny Fairplay. I do not play fair."
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: Infamously invoked this trope with his grandma, complete with CrocodileTears. Worked on everyone but Sandra, and it didn't make him any friends when this secret was outed at the live reunion.
* EvilGenius
* EvilGloating: All the time on the show. On a celebrity edition of Series/FearFactor, he taunted Series/TheAmazingRaces Victoria so badly over losing a challenge that she punched him. Creator/JoeRogan called her out on it. Victoria's partner Jonathan defended her and they had to be separated by Wrestling/TheMiz and removed before Joe attacked Jonathan.
* FauxAffablyEvil
* HeroKiller: Screwed over Andrew, Rupert, and Christa.
* IronicNickname: He absolutely isn't a FairPlayVillain.
* Jerkass: On the show, but is nice in real life. %%Source? If he's so nice, why did he mock Victoria and (allegedly) fight Jeff's brother on stage? Why doesn't he act any different when it's just him and his buddy?
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: When it seems he will go to the final two, he gets beaten by Lil of all people in the final immunity challenge and got kicked out that night.
* LargeHam: During the Reunion, he even taunts the audience into booing him more.
* LazyBum: He would apparently wake up at noon, then take another nap somewhere else.
* LeanAndMean: Not that mean, but snobbish and arrogant.Okay, sometime after the merge, he did get really mean. See StrawMisogynist below.
* ManipulativeBastard
* TheNapoleon
* NonActionGuy: He's not very good at challenges
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Jonny Fairplay. This extends far outside survivor, to the point it's something of a StageName.
* PornStache: After he got voted out, he shaved his beard off (off camera), but left on a this kind of mustache just in time to interrogate Lill and Sandra at the Final Tribal Council.
* PrecisionFStrike: He caps off his feud with Shawn with a short, simple, "F@#k you" when he casts his vote during Shawn's boot episode.
* SirSwearsalot: Particularly in the earlier episodes. There were entire scenes where half of his dialogue was bleeped out.
* ShoutOut: Made constant references to ProfessionalWrestling characters, especially during his Tribal Council vote testimonials, such as one to Wrestling/RicFlair in Rupert's blindside:
--> "If you wanna be the man, you gotta beat the man. Woo."
* TheStarscream: To Rupert/Sandra/Christa twice apiece.
* SmugSmiler
* SmugSnake
* StrawMisogynist: Once it came down to the final four and he was the only guy left, he laid it on thick. Best illustrated by his confessional regarding the upcoming immunity challenge:
--> "If it's a getting pregnant contest, they can probably win, but other than that, no."
* Talking His Way Out: He managed to avoid elimination on at least three different occasions by either HannibalLecture or convincing his enemies (usually Sandra) that someone else was the bigger threat.
* Troll: To Jeff Probst. There's a very famous animosity between him and the host of Survivor, but according to an interview with the Dom and Colin podcast, it may have started because of how he introduced himself to Jeff.
--> "He rubbed lotion on his hand prior to a qualifying interview, shook Probst's hand, and when Probst asked why Jonny's own hand was so sticky, well... you get the idea of what Fairplay told him."
* TheTrickster: Jonny Fairplay is the paradigm of the Survivor Trickster archetype and its very first occurrence. Later Edgardo Rivera, Tyson Apostol, Eric Cardona, Pete Yurkowski, Tyler Fredrickson and Nick Maiorano would follow. Fairplay was very deceptive and had a complete disregard for normal propriety. His biggest trick was when he had his friend who visited him at the Loved Ones' visit tell him publicly in front of the other castaways that his grandmother had passed away. Fairplay later revealed in confessional that his grandmother was at home watching Jerry Springer probably and that he premeditated this lie ahead of time. It is still to date the most infamous lie in Survivor history.
* VillainProtagonist
* VillainousBreakdown: His desperate attempts to cut a deal with Lili at the last immunity challenge
** He had an earlier one behind the scenes after Burton got voted out. Having lost his only friend and clearly being next on the chopping block he just wanted to party with Burton at Ponderosa and told the producers he was done. Knowing that alcohol brought out the best (worst) in him they decided to serve champagne with the breakfast the final four got. Cue Fairplay turning the women against each other in five minutes flat.
* VillainousFriendship: with Burton.
* VSign

->Age/ home/ job: 22/ Liberty, Mississippi/ mortician
->Tribe: Morgan -> Balboa
----
* ActionGirl: Won three Immunity Challenges in a row, finished fourth because nobody wanted to compete against her in the endurance challenge.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl
* DiabolusExMachina: On her boot episode, the remaining four castaways had to compete against the Jury for immunity. As a result of the jury winning, she got the boot.
* DisqualificationInducedVictory: When she won her first immunity. Burton had his immunity stripped after Jeff discovered a misspelled word. Downplayed, since she still had to beat everyone else.
* GirlyGirl: To Morgan.
* LastOfHerKind: The last member of Savage's alliance standing by a long shot, and the only Morgan to avoid being voted out for a time. Interestingly, by the end, she fulfills Morgan's general tribal philosophy by being a Challenge beast, not unlike the ones Savage wanted to keep around.
* MsFanservice
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Darrah works as a mortician, and her audition tape involved invoking this trope for laughs.
* OutOfFocus: While she did have a few lines before she started winning immunities, she can be compared to Brett of Samoa by how suddenly she's in the limelight.
* PluckyGirl: In the face of everyone in her tribe being gone long ago after the merge.
* TheStoic
* TheUnintelligible: Depending on the viewer - however, one has to admit though that her Mississippi accent was pretty thick.
* ThoseTwoGirls: With Tijuana.

->Age/ home/ job: 31/ San Francisco, California/ marketing executive
->Tribe: Drake -> The Outcasts -> Balboa
----
* BackFromTheDead: Originally sent home 4th, in what would have been 13th place.
* CameBackStrong: Both from a gameplay and character standpoint, he becomes much more interesting and dominating upon coming back to take revenge on his old tribe.
* TheDogBitesBack: By being the main factor for why the Outcast Tribe beat both Drake and Morgan, he indirectly led to Shawn being voted out immediately after. He then proceeded to be a key factor in both Rupert and Christa being voted out.
* DemotedToDragon: Initially the leader of one faction of Drake with his own dragon being Shawn, he ends up as Fairplay's dragon after returning.
* TheDragon: To Jon following his return, as mentioned above.
* ExactWords: He promises to Lill that he will "never lie to her". That doesn't include any promise that he's taking her to the Final 2.
* GeniusBruiser: He has a lot of the cunning Jonny Fairplay has, but is much much more athletic and better at challenges.
* HesBack
* Hypocrite: With just five players left, the three women secretly unite and blindside Burton, who says in his exit interview that he hopes Lil can live with herself, because they had an alliance and she broke it. This after he voted to eliminate Lil in that very same tribal council.
* JerkJock: To Rupert.
* MrFanservice
* NothingCanStopUsNow: Once it was just down to five, he became extremely cocky about how his and Jon's plans were about to succeed.
* TheStarscream: To Rupert/Sandra/Christa.
* TheStrategist
* TallDarkAndHandsome
* TallDarkAndSnarky

->Age/ home/ job: 24/ Los Angeles, California/ Computer programmer
->Tribe: Drake -> Balboa
----
* ActionGirl: Lasted the longest out of her entire tribe in the 'hold a bar with weighted sandbags on it longer than anyone else' immunity challenge, and always came in extremely close to winning individual immunity (only loosing to Rupert or fellow ActionGirl Darrah).
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: With Rupert and Sandra. She was Beauty.
* ButtMonkey
* TheChewToy
* CuteButCacophonic: While not 'cacophonic', the most memorable part of Christa is that she sounds like she has a perpetual cold.
* EveryoneLovesBlondes: Inverted as She apparently hated a lot around camp: the reason Drake threw immunity challenge? To get her out. Ryno's throwaway vote in his boot episode? For Christa. Who was blamed for sabotaging the tribe after Rupert was blindsided? Christa. You just had to feel sorry for the poor girl when she had most of the camp apart from her trio plotting against her.

* HiddenDepths: She was apparently such good friends with Sandra and Rupert, that when Rupert was blindsided, she plotted with Sandra to burn the shelter down.
* ICouldaBeenAContender: On the DVD commentary, she wonders why Sandra and Rupert were chosen to play in multiple seasons and not her.
* Misblamed: After Rupert's blindside, Sandra dumped the fish he had caught while nobody was looking. Because Christa had not been seen for a couple of seconds, and because most of the tribe didn't believe her alibi, she was blamed for the incident.
* MsFanservice
* Nice Girl: Seems like the friendliest person in the whole cast.
* RedOniBlueOni: Pretty mild-mannered (blue) compared to her allies, Sandra and Rupert (red).
%% * StatuesqueStunner Okay but how tall is she?
* ThoseTwoGirls: With Sandra.
* TrueBlueFemininity: She was wearing a blue flowered dress when the game started. Justified as the castaway started the game with the clothes on their backs.

->Tribe: Morgan -> Balboa
----
* BullyingADragon: The moment she starts trying to tell Fairplay what he can or can't do, she finds herself promptly voted out.
* GenkiGirl
* IdiotBall: Causes her own elimination by getting too greedy.
* Irony: In the very first episode Nicole tries to get Tijuana out, but gets a little greedy with the vote, resulting in her elimination. In her boot episode, she does the same thing, and is eliminated for it.
%%* ManipulativeBastard
* Mooning: Done unintentionally during a couple challenges.
* MsFanservice
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: "T".
* OnlySaneWoman: Perhaps the only person who saw the sense in actually welcoming Lillian back to the tribe after she was voted back into the game.
* SassyBlackWoman: Evident in her encounters at the Panamanian fishing village.
* TheManBehindTheMan: Despite all assertions that Andrew Savage was in charge at Morgan, it was actually Tijuana who was in control of the entire tribe, as evident by her spearheading Nicole's boot.
* ThoseTwoGirls: With Darrah.

->Tribe: Drake -> Balboa
----
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: With Sandra and Christa. He was Brawn.
* BerserkButton: Jon and Trish voting for him sets off an absolute shitstorm that Jon takes the brunt of.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He may be a GentleGiant, but he's an emotional guy, and his angry moments are as intense as the happy ones.
* TheBigGuy
* BoisterousBruiser
* BrainsEvilBrawnGood: Compared to Johnny Fairplay.
* BreakoutCharacter: Rupert is the textbook definition. He was the most popular player this season who, despite being voted out in episode 10 was in most of the advertisements for the season. On, the DVD cover, he even appears in the top-center position occupied by the winner on every other season set. He also was in two All Star editions, making it farther both times than in this season.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Very out-of-the-box and somewhat eccentric, and especially in this season tends to have somewhat odd priorities. However, he's an immense challenge threat, an excellent fisherman who consistently fed his entire tribe, and managed (more than once) to make it much farther in the game than his guileless personality would suggest.
* CloudCuckooLander: a fairly mild example, but he had his moments.
* DecoyProtagonist: The first half of the season sets up a confrontation between him and Jonny Fairplay, the villain of the season. That ends when Fairplay votes Rupert out soon after the merge, setting the stage for Sandra and Lil.
* Determinator: When Rupert sets his mind to something he will rarely give up, which is how he is able to beat Osten in several physical challenges despite admitting that Osten is stronger than him.
* EmotionalBruiser: The toughest guy in the season and also the most sensitive.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His famous "Pirates plunder, pirates steal" confessional in the first episode, in addition to his pirating of Morgan's shoes to help his tribe get more supplies in the village.
* FaceOfAThug: He, fittingly, has a face reminiscent of a pirate, but the other tropes in this folder tell a different story.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Unless they're fish or Jonny Fairplay.
* GenreBlindness: His strategy is based around providing food, working hard at camp and winning challenges and he never really considers the dynamics of the individual game, focusing entirely on ensuring Drake's success as a group even post-merge. Fairplay suggests in the commentary that Rupert seems to think he's playing an extreme lifestyle game rather than a social strategy game, which is why he takes Fairplay's vote against him extremely personally.
* GentleGiant: A big part of his persona, as he's very strong and looks intimidating but is actually extremely soft-hearted. At one point in the game he adopts a tiny injured snake, names it and takes care it, and is very upset when it dies.
* TheHeart: Rupert is disgusted when Jon suggests looting Morgan's water pot to deprive them of clean drinking water and when Morgan "wins" him in a challenge he does his best to get their camp in shape, teach them how to fish and win a reward challenge for them.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: With his close ally Sandra.
* IconicOutfit: His tie-dye wifebeater.
* LargeHam: This guy can roar and loves to emphasize words at appropriate comedic moments.
* RedBaron: The Pirate.
* RedOniBlueOni: Red to the opposing tribe's leader Andrew, and to his ally Christa to a lesser extent.
* SleevesAreForWimps
* SoreLoser: "So much for my dreams."
* SpotlightStealingSquad: When you have someone as unique and who engages in as much antics as Rupert does, there's no doubt he'll devour most of the screen time.
* TeamChef
* TeamMom / TeamDad: He keeps the Drake tribe going by nurturing and providing for them.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: For most of the season, he wore a flowered skirt (made from part of Christa's dress), since the jeans he jumped ship in weren't exactly game-friendly. When Drake won a sewing kit in one of the reward challenges, he made himself another one.

->Age/ home/ job: 30/ Los Gatos, California/ electrician
->Tribe: Morgan -> Balboa
----
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Andrew stated that Ryan liked animals during Pelican Pete's visit.
* TheLancer
* NiceGuy
* NumberTwo: He was Andrew's right hand man throughout the entire time he stayed.
* KnownOnlyByTheirNickname: "Ryno", which comes from "Ryan O.".
* PerpetualSmiler
* TallDarkAndHandsome
* WorthyOpponent: While voting for Ryan to leave, Rupert laments the fact that he has to vote Ryan out, saying that he wished that he could trade a few of his tribe members (most likely Burton and Jon) for guys like him.

->Age/ home/ job: 39/ Chicago, Illinois/ attorney
->Tribe: Morgan -> Balboa
----
* BadassBookworm
* BadassInANiceSuit: Justified, as he was only taking the clothes on his back.
* BerserkButton: When Jon, while 'looting' the Morgan camp, tells Andrew that Drake actually threw the first challenge Morgan won, Andrew not only doesn't believe him, but reviles the idea so much that he propels Morgan to victory in the next immunity challenge.
* DecoyProtagonist
* Determinator
* DiabolusExMachina: If it weren't for Burton and Lil coming back, he almost undoubtedly would have made the jury, possibly even the finals. But, they came back, aligned with the former Drake tribe at the merge, and sent him packing. Thank Goodness he was chosen to compete on Characters/SurvivorCambodia
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The reason why he was brought back for Cambodia.
* TheHero: This the guy everyone on Morgan looks up to.
* HeroicResolve: He tacks on more weight during one immunity challenge than anyone else, outlasting even Rupert.
* HeroicRROD: Falls to the ground after winning the third immunity challenge for Morgan.
* LastNameBasis: "Savage"
* TheLeader: Of the Morgan Tribe.
* ManlyTears: Morgan had lost pretty much every challenge bar three immunity challenges and a reward with Rupert. Fairplay told Morgan that they threw a challenge, implying that Morgan was weak and only won because they were intentionally trying to lose. When Savage refused to give up and won the challenge for his team, he started crying. Jeff even lampshaded it.
* NoMoreHoldingBackSpeech: His confessional in Episode 3 about why his tribe was stronger than Drake came across this way.
* PermaStubble
* RedOniBlueOni: He's much calmer and more collected than Drake's leader, Rupert.
* TeamDad

->Tribe: Morgan
----
* AnimalsHateHim: Inverted. He hates animals, especially pelicans.
* TheBigGuy: For Morgan. Whenever there's some sort of strength challenge, the weight (metaphorically and literally) falls on his shoulders.
* ButtMonkey: He sold off all his clothes, except for his boxers, in the first day. This is most likely the reason why the island took its toll on him.
* Irony: The toughest looking guy in his season ends up being the biggest wimp and the show's first official quitter.
* MilesGloriosus
* NonGameplayElimination: Osten was the first person to quit Survivor.
* PaperTiger
* SuicideByCop: Attempted. He wanted everyone to vote him off on two separate occasions. The night he quit was also the night he was supposed to be voted off.

->Tribe: Drake
----
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Certainly for Jon.

* JerkJock: He and Burton act like stereotypical jocks making fun of the weird kids, which is something that Rupert especially didn;t like. Afterwards, Jon was the recipient of his ire.
* LazyBum: He got called out on it many times by his tribe. He had many arguments with Jon over his lack of work ethic.
* SmallNameBigEgo: According to his CBS bio, his friends and family like to call him "World's Greatest Salesman" or something similar. He seemed to believe this, despite being even more disliked on his tribe than Jonny Fairplay.
* SmugSnake
* TheQuisling: First by betraying Burton, then by betraying Trish. Not that he had much of a choice with Burton, however.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Him and Burton until Burton got voted out.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: With Jon. Before the Outcast twist came along, Shawn and Jon were planning to team up during the merge in a manner pretty much identical to how Burton and Jon ended up working together after the merge. However, it probably wouldn't have been as successful as the Burton/Jon duumvirate was since the two hated each other fiercely.

->Age/ home/ job: 42/ Annapolis, Maryland/ sales executive
->Tribe: Drake -> The Outcasts
----
* ICouldaBeenAContender: In possibly the best position possible strategic-wise - everyone liked her, she had a good alliance with Fairplay and Shawn, and was extremely close to eliminating a potential post-merge threat (Rupert) - if Sandra hadn't ratted her out, and Shawn hadn't flipped back to the triumvirate, Trish could have taken control of the game.
* IncompatibleOrientation / ObliviousToLove: In the first episode, a store woman develops a crush on Trish, she does not pick up on it, but Sandra does.
* TheStarscream: Made a failed attempt just before the merge to overthrow the Rupert/Christa/Sandra triumvirate on Drake by recruiting Drake's most hated members, Jon and Shawn, into voting out Rupert. Shawn initially agrees with the plan, but later changes his mind, which leads to a 4-2 vote out against Trish.

->Age/ home/ job: 22/ Washington, D.C./ student
->Tribe: Drake -> The Outcasts
----
* TheCutie: On Drake, there was a three member alliance (four if Jonny Fairplay had joined up with them), consisting of Burton, Shawn and Michelle.
* Hoist By Her Own Petard: The plan during the food-eating competition mentioned below was for Michelle to fake being disgusted by the food and get it down as slow as possible, so she would get chosen for the tiebreaker by Morgan, after which she would scoff it down faster than anyone. Unfortunately for her, she got it down way too fast, Morgan chose Sandra, who ACTUALLY had trouble, that lost them the challenge, and Michelle was left to take the blame. Bye-bye, Michelle.
* TheIngenue: She was portrayed as sweet and innocent and therefore was probably cast for the Ingénue archetypical role for which Colleen Haskell is the prototype.
* Revenge: While this applies to all the Outcasts, she was the one who vocalized it the most.
* Tomboy: Admits to loving to eat and drink gross things, and proves it during the food eating competition in Episode 5.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: One moment has her throwing up whilst Rupert attempts to strategize with her.

----
* AscendedFanboy
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Lillian. Telling that both of them voted for each other to get back into the game.
* GeekPhysiques: There's a reason his tribemates called him Skinny Ryan while on the show.
* NerdGlasses
* TheLoad: Was beyond useless at challenges.

->Tribe: Morgan -> The Outcasts
----
* TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong: Was annoyed with Tijuana and tried to organized an alliance to boot her. This caused Nicole to get the boot instead.
* GracefulLoser: In her final words.
* HonorBeforeReason: Used against her - her tribe kicked her off for trying to organize the blindside of Morgan's obviously weaker members.
* MsFanservice: Lampshaded by Jeff during the premiere, saying she might be popular because she wasn't wearing a bra.
* TooCleverByHalf: She attempted to eliminate a threat in the form of Tijuana instead of one of the easy votes like Ryan S. or Lillian. The tribe booted her to restore order.
