The primary Rider. He wanted revenge against Destron for the death of his family. After witnessing his predecessors seemingly performing a HeroicSacrifice, he moves pass wanting revenge and decides to fight Destron to protect people.
----
!!!Tropes in general
* BadassBiker: As is traditional for Kamen Riders, he rides a bike and is a badass cyborg.
* {{Cyborg}}: Was turned into one as an EmergencyTransformation to save his life by the Double Riders, Kamen Riders 1 (Ichigou) and 2 (Nigou).
* BigBrotherInstinct: He cherished his sister Yukiko deeply. Likewise, he is always willing to protect any children from danger.
* BreakoutCharacter: In their human forms, Kazami has the most appearances in sequels among the Showa Riders.
* CharacterDevelopment: Was actually quite weak-willed at times, to the point of outright despairing. Needless to say, Kazami has fully outgrown this by the end.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: His victory against the Great Leader is this. For bonus points, the latter even referred to himself as "the god of death".
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: He regularly forsakes his 26 abilities against Destron's monsters, even when at a disadvantage. One of the biggest example is when faced with Archbishop Wing's soldiers, where Kazami laments not being able to fly, despite having his Gliding Mufflers. For extra context, the Double Riders used a variation of said ability in the second episode.
* GeniusBruiser: While his scientific prowess isn't usually shown compared to Joji Yuki/Riderman, Kazami counts as this. To note, he has even upgraded Keisuke Jin/Kamen Rider X with the Mercury Circuit.
* TheHero: Shiro is the main character this time around, and the main fighter against Destron. Notably, even when faced with mortal danger, his primary focus is protecting the innocents.
* HeroesFrontierStep: His selfless sacrifice to save the Double Riders from a trap was what led to his reconfiguration as a Kamen Rider.
* ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies: He's aware of Junko's crush on him, but keeps her at a distance to prevent her from getting killed by Destron.
* MyGreatestFailure: Regards his family's demise as this, thus aspiring to protect others from evil.
* NiceGuy: He is an easygoing man in general, with a soft spot for women and children. It makes sense, given how he had a younger sister.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Downplayed: The death of his entire family at the hands of Destron is the very reason why he desired to become a Kamen Rider. However, after witnessing the Double Riders' heroism. From then on, Kazami decided to focus on fighting for justice, just like his predecessors. He would even go on to convince Riderman and ZX to join their cause as heroes.
* UnskilledButStrong: Despite being an upgraded version of the Double Riders, V3 initially struggled against Destron's monsters, suffering several defeats in-series. Experience and time eventually remedied this though.
** To note, he has fought monsters armed with NUCLEAR ENERGY and/or mystical powers, and defeated the Great Leader in a duel, the latter of which no other Rider has done in their respective series.
* TookALevelInBadass: Compared to his mediocre fight record in-series, V3 took a very big leap in prowess from X to Stronger, proving one of the strongest Kamen Riders throughout the Showa period.
* WorfEffect: Starting with Skyrider's series, Kazami began to suffer from this trope pretty frequently. In fact, even with extra help, he has outright been defeated by General Jark, Kamen Rider Decade, and [[SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute Kamen Rider 3]] in their respective series.

!!!Tropes as a Rider.
* AllYourPowersCombined: He inherited the techniques of Kamen Rider 1 and the strength of Kamen Rider 2. Was somewhat an InformedAttribute at first, since he was often outmatched by Destron's monsters, usually winning via a DeusExMachina.
* AnimalThemedSuperBeing: A mix between a grasshopper and a dragonfly. Granted with the former, since he was derived from the Double Riders.
* AchillesHeel: He has four deadly weaknesses. Only one was noted, while the other three were shown onscreen but never made explicit.
* ElementalPowers: While not shown in-series, V3 can use several elements, such as: [[RazorWind wind]], [[ShockAndAwe electricity]], [[PlayingWithFire heat]], and [[AnIcePerson ice]].
* InstantExpert: His O Signal allows him to record and analyze things in seconds.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: It has two white scarves attached to the suit itself and it also enables him to glide through the air.

[[folder:Joji Yuki/Riderman]]
!!Joji Yuki/Riderman
!!!'''Portrayed by:''' Takehisa Yamaguchi
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/joji_yuki_list_image.jpg]]
%% [[caption-width-right:250:some caption text]]
The second main Rider. A scientist of Destron and the adoptive son of The Great Leader of Destron. Became a Rider to exact revenge on Marshall Armor for nearly killing him but was still loyal to Destron until learning the truth and sides with V3.
----
!!!Tropes in general
* ArcHero: Serves as an anti-heroic {{Deuteragonist}} of the final arc of the show.
* AntiHero: The first morally grey character in Kamen Rider.
* ArtificialLimbs: Has a prosthetic right arm. He is the first Rider with minimal cybernetics as his predecessors 1, 2 and V3 are full body cyborgs.
* BadassBiker: Like V3, Riderman has his own Rider Machine.
* BashBrothers: With V3 after they join forces.
* EvilGenius: Was the head MadScientist for Destron during his time as a part of it, for a given definition of "evil".
* AFatherToHisMen: As a member of Destron, he cared strongly for his colleagues, even considering Marshal Armor as an ally.
* HeelFaceTurn: Goes from heel to NominalHero to straight up hero by the end.
* HeroicSacrifice: Seemingly gives his life to stop Destron from nuking Japan. He gets better...
* UsefulNotes/JapanesePronouns: Uses "boku", in keeping with his polite demeanor.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Before fully siding with Kazami and the others, Joji is this as Riderman. While desiring for revenge from being betrayed, he still saved innocent lives when needed, being gentle towards children and women.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Once fully recognizing the Great Leader's true colors, he has this reaction, hence his HeroicSacrifice later on.
* NominalHero: In the beginning, he fought for revenge against Marshal Armor and frequently clashed with V3, but eventually he grows out of this and becomes a straight up hero.
* ObliviouslyEvil: He was unaware of Destron's more sinister dealings during the time he worked there.
* OlderThanTheyLook: In modern installments, Riderman continues to have the jawline of a young man, whereas the other Riders grow older in their human forms. Unsurprising, since his original actor Takehisa Yamaguchi passed away long ago and he's been portrayed by much younger stuntmen ever since.
* SharpDressedMan: After defecting from Destron and ditching their uniform, he always dresses very properly, in contrast to Kazami's more laid-back style.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Despite the familiar idea of Riderman being the deuteragonist, he was actually not introduced until over 40 episodes into the show and only appeared in 9 episodes. However, he is still deemed as a member of the Legendary Seven Riders.
* StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: Even among all Kamen Riders, he is this. At times, he will struggle against a typical Kaijin, while other times he can overpower his Heisei successors in a fight.
* UndyingLoyalty: To the Great Leader, who saved him from suicide and became a surrogate father. Joji's loyalty is so great that, even after departing from Destron, he still saw him as his savior and once stopped V3 from killing him.
* WeakButSkilled: Compared to Destron's monsters, and even [=V3=], he is this.
!!!Tropes as a Rider
* AnimalMotifs: Purportedly a grasshopper though with his prosthetic arm weapons he could be mantis based instead.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: His helmet reveals the lower half of his face, a rarity for suit design in ''Kamen Rider''.
* TheRival: Starts off with an enmity towards V3, but the two eventually become allies.
* TransformationSequence: His is initiated by putting on his helmet.
* UrExample: He is the first Rider with an arsenal of weapons (the previous Riders primarily fought barehanded and occasionally use weapons they pilfered from the enemy).
----
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Double Riders]]
!!!Portrayed by Creator/HiroshiFujioka and Takeshi Sasaki
Takeshi Hongo and Hayato Ichimonji, Kamen Riders #1 and #2. They are the ones responsible for converting Shiro Kazami into Kamen Rider V3 after he was critically injured. They initially disappear saving Tokyo from Bazooka Turtle, but later show up to help Kazami in his time of need.
----
* GeniusBruiser: They're badass {{cyborg}} warriors that converted Kazami into V3, as well as tanked an ATOMIC BOMB without any apparent damage.
* WorfEffect: Defied. While they did struggle against Bazooka Turtle, both are still capable of fighting Destron's monsters without trouble. Hongo has even outfought Yuki Ookami, the latter strong enough to overpower V3.

%% [[caption-width-right:350:some caption text]]
A secret organization desiring to TakeOverTheWorld that serves as [[Series/KamenRider Gel-Shocker]]'s successors. They are the ones responsible for murdering Shiro's family.
----
* CreateYourOwnHero: Of a different sort than in the original ''Series/KamenRider''. While they aren't directly responsible for Shiro becoming a {{cyborg}}, their murder of his family was what drove him to become a Kamen Rider and fight him in the first place.
* {{Cult}}: Destron has members who treat the organization as their religion, to the point of praying to Destron.
* InterserviceRivalry: Between Destron's combat division, headed by Marshal Yoroi, and its science division, headed by Joji Yuki.
* MeetTheNewBoss: They have few general differences from Gel-Shocker, except with more creepy {{Cult}} vibes to replace Gel-Shocker's [[ThoseWackyNazis Nazi]] [[PuttingOnTheReich vibes]].
* MonsterOfTheWeek: The Destron Inhumanoids, MixAndMatchCritters that are mashups of animals and inanimate objects.
* NebulousEvilOrganization: Like their predecessors Shocker, they're a shadowy organization that carries out operations over a vast scope and whose goal is to conquer the world.
* ReligionOfEvil: One of Destron's many facets is a cult whose {{Mooks}} dress in robes and hold Destron as their religion.
* ScaryScorpions: The Destron logo is modeled on a scorpion.

The mysterious high leader of Destron, who previously led the Shocker and Gel-Shocker organizations.
----
* AGodAmI: [[spoiler:After revealing his true form, he declares himself to be a "[[{{Shinigami}} God of Death]]".]]
* BadBoss: The Great Leader is not kind to his subordinates. [[YouHaveFailedMe Failing]] will get you executed. Succeeding will have you kept around for as long you are useful and [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness disposed of once you are not]].

* DecoyLeader: [[spoiler:Hinted at. V3 breaking his skull reveals a tape player with recording from the Great Leader, hinting the real Great Leader may still be at large.]]
* DemBones: [[spoiler:His true form is a living skeleton.]]
* NonActionBigBad: [[spoiler:Even moreso than his Shocker incarnation, who used psychic powers to briefly disorient the Double Riders. The Great Leader of Destron offers no resistance to V3, who breaks him apart. Justified in that this form is implied to actually be a decoy.]]
* ReturningBigBad: The Great Leader is yet again making another go at world domination.
* {{Shinigami}}: [[spoiler:Declares himself a "God of Death" when V3 finally meets him.]]
* TheVoice: As usual, he communicates with his subordinates via a speaker and isn't fully seen until late into the series.

[[folder:Doktor G]]
!!Doktor G
!!!'''Portrayed by:''' Jotaro Senba
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/doktor_g_list_image.jpg]]
%% [[caption-width-right:250:some caption text]]
The first Destron executive to face V3, he is called from Germany to take command of Destron's Japanese branch.
----
* AnimalMotif: [[ScaryScorpions Scorpions]]. His armor and shield are decked out in scorpion imagery and his Inhumanoid form is scorpion-themed.
* {{Expy}}: As a mystical scientist from central/eastern Europe, he definitely takes a few cues from Dr. Shinigami from the preceeding series.
* GeniusBruiser: Even in human form, Doktor G was capable of matching V3 in combat, only being defeated once V3 gained enough experience to use his powers more effectively.
* HerrDoktor: He's from Germany and is at least nominally a doctor, even having "doktor" as his title.
* HeroKiller: While he obviously never kills V3, he was single-handedly responsible for wiping out all except one of Interpol's "Destron Hunters".
* ScorpionPeople: His OneWingedAngel form, Kani Laser.

The second Destron general to face V3. He leads a ReligionOfEvil called the "Tusk Tribe".
----
* AFatherToHisMen: To his Tusk Tribe, whom he treats well and mourns when he die in battle. The only exception is Witch Smilodon, who is actually ranked above him as the Tusk Tribe's religious leader. He revers her as well.

* OurVampiresAreDifferent: His OneWingedAngel form, Vampiric Mammoth
* ReligionOfEvil: Heads one within Destron called the Tusk Tribe, who practice a form of mysticism called "Doovoo" and worship Witch Smilodon.

----
* DegradedBoss: His [[OneWingedAngel Zombie Bat]] form is later revived by Marshal Armor to fight V3 again, only to be defeated with just a few punches.
* LightningBruiser: In his monster form, he outright defeated V3 in their first battle, proving so powerful that the former fell into despair. After Tachibana helped V3 train though, he was defeated in a rematch.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Lasts 6 episodes, just one more than Baron Tusk.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Marshal Yoroi]]
!!Marshal Yoroi
!!!'''Portrayed by:''' Bunya Nakamura

The fourth and final general of Destron, an armored warrior from Mongolia.
----
* TheDragon: The highest ranked and most powerful of the four Destron generals, effectively serving as the Great Leader's second-in-command.
* EpicFlail: Wields a spiked ball on stick in his regular form.
* HateSink: His InsaneAdmiral tendencies proves that he's evil to the core alongside the Great Leader.
* TheHeavy: Marshal Yoroi is the highest-ranking Destron executive we see and the one advancing their operations in the final arc.
* IHaveYourWife: One of the ways he gets a scientist to work for him is by kidnapping his family and threatening their lives if he doesn't help build a nuclear bomb for Destron.
* InsaneAdmiral: Marshal Yoroi is the definitely the most psychopathic person in Destron, which is really saying something. He'll kill and mutilate people for no reason other than to amuse himself.
* InterserviceRivalry: With Destron's science division, to the point where he sabotaged their work and framed their leader for treason because he saw them as a threat to his position.
* {{Sadist}}: The Marshal really seems to revel in causing others pain.
* VillainsWantMercy: [[spoiler:Begs the [[BadBoss Great Leader]] to spare him in his final moments, to no avail.]]

The footsoldiers of Destron.
----

* FacelessGoons: The Destron Combatmen's facial features are fully concealed, making them appear much more inhuman than their Shocker Combatmen predecessors.
* {{Mooks}}: The low-level grunts of Destron.
