!Knight of the Ashen Flame

The first faction of the White Clad to appear in the series and the main group to menace the Fire Force under the command of The Commander.

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:The Commander '''(SPOILER)''']]

[[quoteright:340:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1596412717534.jpg]]

One of the first White Clad to appear in the series alongside Arrow, Haran is an oddity within his group because of his complete lack of firepower. Instead he specialises in being an absolutely deadly close-range brawler and knife expert. He is one of the masterminds of the Asakusa arc and is fully capable of overwhelming his foes.
----
* BadassNormal: No superpowers and can outmaneuver Shinra very quickly.
* EmergencyTransformation: When things are going too well for the heroes, Haran turns himself into an Infernal to gain the more power, effectively killing himself for his mission.
* EvilDuo: With Arrow. His melee skills balance out her reliance on long-range tactics.
* MaleMightFemaleFinesse: Haran uses brute force and close range combat, while Arrow uses range and planning her shots. Together they are a nightmare to deal with.
* NighInvulnerability: After becoming a monster, nothing can stop him. Benimaru's attacks don't phase him and Arthur's plasma cutter might as well be a twig. [[spoiler:It takes a giant explosion that could level a town to finally stop him.]]
* TronLines: His tattoos become these once he changes into an Infernal.
* VillainousValour: In the hopes of crushing his enemies he'll gladly sacrifice himself for his cause.

[[folder:Flail]]
!!Flail
!!! Voiced by: Creator/KenjiNomura (Japanese), Creator/BryanMassey (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flail_fire_force_anime.PNG]]

A member of the Ash Knights with the ability to generate a flail out of fire to smite the Evangelist's enemies. He is one of the major threats of the Workshop arc.
----
* BeardOfEvil: The upper half of his face is covered by a extensive and thick beard.
* TheBrute: Big, violent and strong.
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler:He was the corrupt captain that unknowingly spurred Obi and Hinawa to take a stand against it.]]
* EpicFlail: Makes one out of fire using a chain. He can change its size and shape to maximize damage, as a giant flame ball at the end of a (apparently regular) chain.
* EvilDuo: The brawn to Mirage's brains in their first appearance.
* HeManWomanHater: Belittles Maki for being a woman, claiming she couldn't possibly hurt him. She doesn't notice or care while kicking his teeth in because he also pressed her BerserkButton.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Flail is mostly just a brute working for the cult. [[spoiler:He was also the Company 3 officer that Hinawa and Akitaru clashed with in the past. That disagreement lead the pair to found Company 8 and everything that came as a result of that choice.]]
* ReligiousBruiser: Flail is nothing flashy, he's just a thug with a mace and religious zeal.
* UncertainDoom: Unlike other member of the Knights of the Ashen Flame that were defeated in the Nether and reappeared later in the series, like Arrow or Assault, he's not seen again after his defeat at Maki's hands, leaving his survival ambiguous.
* WorfEffect: He gives Arthur a hard time in his first appearance, and then the author uses him and his men to show off Maki's MidSeasonUpgrade, which means that he is used to showcase both Maki's increased combat ability and how Vulcan's engineering skills can upgrade all of Company 8.
* WouldHitAGirl: ...If he could, that is. Unfortunately for Flail, his opponent is Maki, who thoroughly [[CurbStompBattle demolishes him]] in their fight.

[[folder:Yona]]
!!Yona
!!! Voiced by: Creator/YoshitsuguMatsuoka (Japanese), Cory Phillips (English), Arturo Castañeda (Latin American Spanish)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yona_fire_force_anime.PNG]]

An odd looking member of the Knights who is able to alter people's faces. In contrast to his peers, he's a cackling madman with poor impulse control and no clear combat abilities. He plants the seeds of conflict in the Asakusa arc through his abilities and returns later to be a menace to society.
----
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Arthur thinks he isn't human, but he seems as brittle as everyone else. [[spoiler:It's implied he is right, as Yona is hundreds of years old, and Yona admits during the battle of Shinra and Sho in the Nether that he's not human.]]
* TheChessmaster: [[spoiler:Posing as Raffles I, he practically shaped the entire Tokyo Empire as known today, expanding as well the influence of the Evangelist in the process.]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Goes from mad planing to demonstrating how shape his nose is.
* CoDragons: Shares this position for the Evangelist along with Haumea (commander of the White Clad) and [[spoiler:Sumire (implied to have performed a similar role to Haumea's one during the Great Cataclysm)]]. Among them, Yona [[spoiler:is implied to be the oldest servant of the Evangelist, and is the one who pulled the strings to create the current culture and beliefs of the Tokyo Empire, though nowadays he prefers to leave the heavy work to Haumea while he observes in the shadows.]]
* DirtyCoward: Talks a big game, but he runs at the first sign of real danger.
* DisproportionateRetribution: In his first appearance, he murders in cold blood one of the followers of the Evangelist that he intended to infiltrate in Asakusa just because he didn't like how his face looked after applying his power on the poor sap.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His very first scene quickly establishes him as an unhinged MadArtist willing to kill his "creations" if they dissatisfy him in some way.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Has the letter 'A' in both his eyes. WordOfGod says it is meant to highlight he is an 'Artist'.
* EvilGloating: In comes out of hiding to let Hinawa know he's going to die. He shuffles off when it turns out he's still in danger.
* KillAndReplace: [[spoiler:He did this to Raffles I when he was travelling in his caravan in search of light. He impersonated him after ending his life and used his figure to create the religion of the Holy Sol Temple. The wife of Raffles at least was suspicious enough to realize the sudden change in personality of his husband, as her diary evidences.]]
* MadArtist: A religious zealot who loves making human faces as his art form. If his art displeases him, he'll destroy it and the skull it's on.
* MagicPlasticSurgery: He's able to manipulate blood flow and capillaries to alter a person's facial structure. [[spoiler:He can easily do this to himself as well.]]
* TheManInFrontOfTheMan: Yona is introduced as a lunatic under the Commander's orders and was on the same level as Arrow and the others, possibly even lower. While he still serves the Evangelist, Yona is this to the Commander. [[spoiler:Which is why he's the only one of Shō's servants to escape the battle with Company 8.]]
* NonActionGuy: He's not a lover, but he's not a fighter either. He'll run from danger and leave things to his allies.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Yona has a more angular and synthetic face than anyone else in the story. [[spoiler:He latter appears in a ''very'' alien looking outfit to highlight just how inhuman he is.]]
* OddNameOut: He's one of the first members of the White Clad to have a name of his own. This changes over time with members like Charon showing up, but it makes Yona an oddity among the initial bunch.
* TheShadowKnows: His shadow is more wild and twisted than he is normally, implying a deeper level of insanity than Yona shows normally.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mirage]]
!!Mirage
!!! Voiced by: Creator/SusumuChiba (Japanese), Brad Kurtz (English), Jhonny Torres (Latin American Spanish)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mirage_fire_force_anime.PNG]]

A Third Gen member of the White Clad who is able to create illusions by altering the heat of the air around him. Once he gets his foes confused, he goes in for the kill with a knife. He is one of the villains in the Workshop arc.
----
* BackStab: Uses his mist and doubles to create openings for strikes.
* CombatPragmatist: He'll allow his allies to fight and die, if it lets him kill his weakened prey.
* EvilDuo: Makes one with Yona, as they are both careful villains.
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: Tires to pull this on Company 8, but is forced to battle Arthur.
* MasterOfIllusion: He is able to create mirages of people, sometimes dozens at a time. They can look like anyone and they are capable of movement. However, changes in the atmosphere cause them to disperse.
* MonochromaticEyes: He lacks pupils of any kind, making his eyes pure white colored and giving him an inhuman presence.
* OminousFog: Creates a fog or mist.
* UncertainDoom: Unlike other member of the Knights of the Ashen Flame that were defeated in the Nether and reappeared later in the series, like Arrow or Assault, he's not seen again after his defeat at Arthur's hands, leaving his survival ambiguous.
* VillainForgotToLevelGrind: He tries to beat Arthur using the same tricks he used in their last battle. Mirage is unaware Arthur trained to overcome this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Feeler '''(SPOILER)''']]
A member of the Knights of the Ashen Flame [[spoiler:sent to find the key of Amaterasu by infiltrating Vulcan's workshop.]]
-->For tropes on her, see [[spoiler:Lisa Isaribi's]] section [[Characters/FireForceSpecialFireForceCompany8 here]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Assault]]
!!Assault
!!! Voiced by: Creator/ChikahiroKobayashi (Japanese), Troy Hughes (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/assault_fire_force_anime.PNG]]

A hitman working for the Ash Knights. He can create giant nails out of pure fire to impale his opponents. He sets off to fight Tamaki and Iris during the Netherworld arc.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He has dark skin and fair hair.
* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]]: [[spoiler:No matter how hard he "trains" to prevent it from happening, [[InLoveWithTheMark Tamaki]] will still arouse and defeat him without fail.]]
* {{Catchphrase}}: He 'sets off' on missions and always uses the term to describe leaving a place.
* ComicallySerious: He's not as threatening as he appears, as even if he displays a persona of a coldblooded assassin, [[spoiler: he's as painfully awkward akin of a school boy whenever anything perverted shows up in front of him]].
* GoodCostumeSwitch: [[spoiler:He wears all-black to distance himself from White Clad while invoking DarkIsNotEvil in comparison to his Doppelganger wearing the same outfit while invoking LightIsNotGood.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:He left the White Clad and fought against his Doppelganger while supporting Tamaki.]]
* IHaveManyNames: 'Assault The Slaughterer', 'Assassin of the Abyss', 'The Bloody Fire Blast'. PlayedForLaughs.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Though he is ([[InformedAbility supposedly]]) a formidable fighter, he has the bad luck to face Tamaki, [[ParalyzingFearOfSexuality an enemy he was not ready to fight]]. From that point on, his whole screentime gets reduced to him "training" to be able to overcome Tamaki's "power", failing all the times to beat her.
* InformedAbility: He's said to be one of the strongest members of the White Clad, with some mentioned impresive feats such as being able to defeat Demon Infernals by himself or being capable of destroying the whole Company 8 alone, apart of being held in high regard by other powerful members of the White Clad like Sho and Dragon. While his abilities are true to a certain extent (as seen when he blocks one of the fire blasts of Arrow with a single finger), the problem is that, in his only shown battle of the manga, he had the bad luck to go against [[spoiler:Tamaki, which ended in a humilliating defeat for him]]. Afterwards, [[spoiler:he centers his training in trying to overcome Tamaki's Lucky Lecher to no avail (with such training basically consisting in reading and watching porn to get accustomed to female bodies). As such, the actual abilities of Assault have yet to be seen.]]
** [[spoiler:Finally averted in Chapter 278 when his doppelganger shows up. Unlike the real Assault, Doppelganger Assault is not affected by Tamaki's Lucky Lecher Lure, and he proceeds to wipe the floor with Company 8 (minus Shinra and Arthur) and Arrow once he starts fighting. He's halted by a surprise attack from Juggernaut, but emerges unscathed and proceeds to finish off Company 8 in the next chapter, overwhelming Obi's strength with just his fingers and sending Juggernaut flying with a single punch. Assault may be unable to overwhelm his lusts, but if his doppelganger is any indication, he really is the borderline unstoppable monster the White Clad know him as once he gets going.]]
* InLoveWithTheMark: [[spoiler: After making Tamaki his personal arch-nemesis in the aftermath of their first battle, he keeps challenging her after every TrainingFromHell he undergoes (designed with only her in mind) specifically to settle things once and for all, (leaving "challenge calls" suspiciously similar to a schoolboy's "love confession" letters) in her locker. After a couple of times, he eventually come to realize the reason for why his training simply isn't enough.]]
* ParalyzingFearOfSexuality: His one major weakness and the reason behind [[spoiler: his loss to Tamaki due to her "Lucky Lecher". The entirety of his TrainingFromHell revolves around overcoming just this weakness alone. He gets better on this aspect regarding strangers, but unfortunately, [[InLoveWithTheMark not Tamaki herself]].]]
* TrainingFromHell: Undergoes ''multiple'' ones [[spoiler:where he watches and reads so much porn that his eyes ''cry blood'', followed by him frequenting hostess clubs, and then going out into a stormy street to observe wardrobe malfunctions]] in order to [[spoiler: grant him enough endurance against Tamaki Kotatsu's "Lucky Lecher" after his first embarrassing defeat against her]]. It proved insufficient, but did provide him a highly significant permanent boost in his physical abilities as a side-effect, to the point that he can stop a shot from Arrow with a single finger, much to his fellow knights' delight and surprise.
* WhatIsThisFeeling: [[spoiler: His confusion about how Tamaki's "Lucky Lecher" still can best him after all his training eventually clear up as a epiphany during one of their "challenges".]]
-->'''Assault''': [[spoiler:It's different when it's someone you [[InLoveWithTheMark like]].]]
