!!The Keroro Platoon
[[folder:Sergeant Keroro]]
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/keroro.png]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/KumikoWatanabe (Japanese), Creator/ToddHaberkorn (English, Funimation), Andrea Kwan (English, Animax Seasons 1-2), Sarah Hauser (English, Animax Seasons 3-4), Xavier Fagnon (French, SMI dub), Tony Beck (French, MIE dub),Eba Ojanguren (Spanish)
"[[AntiHero Our]] [[VillainProtagonist hero]]", a rather hapless [[AlienInvaders Alien Invader]] who spends more time doing chores and goofing off than he spends actually trying to invade. His plans usually take the form of {{Zany Scheme}}s that blow up in his face in [[HilarityEnsues various amusing ways]].

Despite his flaws above, Keroro has some sense of honor as a Keronian soldier, with a great deal of empathy for others in need. Thus, he will actually become more competent when trying to help someone out.
----
* AntiHero: The loser type, most of the time. Also an IneffectualSympatheticVillain and an UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist.
* AntiVillain: Despite technically being ordered to take over the world, Keroro would much rather play around. Likewise, he is capable of caring for others, whether it is his friends or strangers.
* AntiRoleModel: A ''very good example'' to show viewers how ''not'' to be a military leader.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: He pretty much get distracted over the sight of one Gundam model or anything else unimportant. For Sarge, it's "Gundam models first, invasion plans later".
* BerserkButton:
** Breaking his Gundam models is a sure-fire way to set him off.
** In a more heartwarming example, he becomes upset whenever someone harms his family and friends. Best proven when aliens posing as famous reality show stars visit the house and get a bit too touchy with Natsumi and Aki in the hot spring. This is how he reacts:
--> '''Keroro''': '''[[HulkingOut WHAT FLAVOR IS YOUR BLOOD!?]]'''[[note]]'''[[YouWouldntLikeMeWhenImAngry They won't like me when I'm angry]]'''! '''FROG SMASH!!''' in the dub.[[/note]]
* BewareTheSillyOnes: is actually quite friendly when not scheming anything, as well as being a general goofball. However, break his Gunpla and he will threaten to destroy the planet itself.
* BigOlEyebrows A flashback in episode 58 shows him with thick brows. Likely played for laughs.
* BrilliantButLazy: Keroro is very dexterous, but his cowardly and slothful attitude stops him from being effective unless seriously motivated.
* BullyingADragon:
** His relationship with Natsumi in a nutshell, at least in earlier stories.
** [[spoiler: Becomes a literal example when Warrior-Style was introduced in the manga.]]
* ButtMonkey: Not only does his plans for conquering Pekopon end in failure, but Keroro is also often the center of abuse, whether or not he deserves it. It can honestly get hard to watch at times.
* CharacterDevelopment: Has mellowed out over the years, acting less chaotic and violent when scheming an invasion plan.
* CampStraight: Does all the chores for the Hinata household, as well as regularly talking and dressing like a teenage girl or drag queen when making a joke. However, Keroro was clearly attracted to Pururu as kids, as well as occasional hints that he reciprocates Angol Mois' feelings on some level. In contrast, Keroro appeared creeped out when Tamama accidentally confessed his love for him at one point.
* CowardlyLion: Whenever he isn't being a straight-up DirtyCoward. There are times when he will at least try to fight and defend his platoon himself, despite being scared. This is most evident in the movies listed below.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his usual attitude, Keroro's potential actually far exceeds elite members of the Keron Army, including his platoonmates and Garuru himself.
** [[spoiler: In Volume 17, he subconsciously uses the Keron Star to stop Zoruru with a single [[LoomingSilhouetteOfRage shadow-wreathed]] ''[[DeathGlare look]]'' and [[CompellingVoice a stern order]]. Does the same thing to a KIRURU UNIT in Volume 20.]]
** He kicks a lot of ass in the movies. Notable examples include: [[spoiler: him being turned into a dragon in the fourth movie and proceeding to kick his entire platoon's dragon asses. Note that when he transformed, Keroro, like the rest of his platoon, became amnesiac and ruthless. While the audience were privy to the other platoon-turned-dragon members thoughts, we do not hear Keroro's at all.]]
** In the fifth movie, [[spoiler:Keroro is actually Makemake's chosen host against Aku-Aku, temporarily gaining god-like powers during the climax.]]
* DidntThinkThisThrough: One of Keroro's {{Fatal Flaw}}s as a character, alongside his [[SmugSnake Arrogance]], and slothful attitude is that he is very impulsive, willing to do anything to achieve his goals without realizing the consequences until it's too late.
* DirtyCoward: Especially when pitted against Natsumi.
* TheDitz: Wavers pretty frequently with each story.
* DitzyGenius: Capable of learning advanced ninjutsu and creating high-tech machines within a single day, as well as proving a brilliant leader when needed.
* DubPersonalityChange: Even when compared to the rest of the cast, Keroro is far meaner and idiotic in the Funimation dub. It's probably due to how a good chunk of the jokes from Keroro's dialogue and mannerisms in the original Japanese version aren't understandable for foreign viewers.
* ExplosiveOverclocking: Occurs if he is oversaturated with humidity, briefly unlocking the Keroro From Back Then before being BroughtDownToNormal again.
* FatalFlaw: Keroro has a ton, but his most common flaws are [[SmugSnake Arrogance]], [[BrilliantButLazy Sloth]], and [[DidntThinkThisThrough Impulsiveness]].
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Zigzagged. While the others are annoyed at Keroro's flaws, he can also act as TheHeart. Case in point, when weakened by Aku-Aku, Giroro and the others were ultimately inspired by Keroro to fight back.
* GetRichQuickScheme: Whenever an opportunity arises for him to make money, you best bet he will not let it slip away. He is constantly coming up with money-making schemes like they're going out of style.
* HarmlessVillain: He's so terrible as an invader that most of his plans collapse in a few hours. For the rare times when this isn't the case, some stroke of bad luck will cause it to end.
* HiddenDepths: For all of his incompetence, Keroro is the only one who could lead his ''unique'' platoonmates. Both Tamama and Kururu proved awful leaders during their brief stint, with Giroro constantly at odds with Kururu and Dororo. Likewise, Dororo's awkward nature and SixthRanger status speak for itself.
** Will bring up good points from time to time, such as noting how absurd Shurara's reason for revenge was.
* HisOwnWorstEnemy: Pretty obvious by this point. As Giroro puts it, Sarge is more of a danger to himself than to the planet he’s supposed to be conquering.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Since arriving in Pekopon, he and Fuyuki have become inseparable.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: No duh.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He calls out his friends for their flaws, when he has a ton himself. Sometimes doubles as a HypocriteHasAPoint, especially when they blame solely him for their lack of success at invading Pekopon.
* IdiotHero: Whenever he and his platoon are being helpful to someone.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He tends to think himself highly ''a lot'', especially in the Funimation dub.
* {{Irony}}: Is much more competent when actually helping someone, particularly against villainous foes. Could explain why he's so bad at trying to conquer planets.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: In many video games, he draws from his collection of toys and cleaning supplies to help him out--the vacuum is a particular favorite.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Keroro is a poor excuse for a military leader. However, he isn't exactly wrong to defend himself from his platoonmates' criticism, given how each are just as terrible at their jobs. Notably, Giroro has no real excuse whenever Keroro brings this up in an argument, simply replying with violence.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Is more or less this.[[DubPersonalityChange Less so in the Funimation dub.]]
* KidsAreCruel: Keroro in his younger days was a big jerk given the number of traumas he had inflicted onto poor Dororo. When the older Keroro tries to talk things out peacefully with him, he responds by pranking him.
* LargeHam: He has quite a dramatic flair, especially in the dub.
* LazyBum: Frequently spends his time building Gundam models and watching cartoons, rather than conquering Pekopon like he was told.
* LoserProtagonist: He's a total ButtMonkey, and lazy to boot.
* LovableCoward: His antics are goofy and endearing, even when he's begging someone to save him from whatever mess created.
* ManChild: Obviously.
* ManipulativeBastard: He isn't above taking advantage of his friends, especially Dororo.
* MetaGuy: Surprisingly, Keroro will often act as this, sometimes bantering with the Narrator himself.
* NeverMyFault: It's rare for Keroro to admit his own faults and the problems he causes.
* NonActionGuy: Mostly from his timid nature. Is occasionally subverted on rare occasions.
* {{Otaku}}: Of the Gundam variety, as well as other forms of pop culture, such as anime, space bikes, and figurines.
* PingPongNaivete: His overall competence varies depending on the episode, specifically how funny he needs to be at the moment.
* PluckyComicRelief: Very energetic and fun-loving, especially when playing around with his friends. Will also reference pop culture regularly.
* PetTheDog: One of the reasons why Keroro's friends care about him, in spite of his negative traits. Most prominently shown toward Fuyuki or with Angol Mois, but is extended to others, including complete strangers.
** In the Garuru platoon arc, [[spoiler: he specifically asks Garuru to spare the Hinata family when it looks like the Garuru platoon have won.]]
** When ordered by his superiors to hand Mashu over for termination, Keroro adamantly refused, even at the behest of Giroro and Dororo. This would ultimately reward him.
** One story features him befriending a little girl who becomes fascinated with his hat. When it appears she has lost it, he lets her know that he is grateful for her trying to find it anyway.
* TheScapegoat: It's clear that Keroro and his platoonmates are terrible as invaders. However, the Keron Army is hardly any better, since they expect just 5 soldiers to conquer an entire planet; one filled with rival aliens. Yet, Keroro is the only one ever blamed for the overall situation.
** Even more, there are instances when Keroro is blamed for things outside of his control, such as the destruction caused by Shurara's extremely petty vendetta.
* SignatureLaugh: "Gerogerogero!"
* SmugSnake: Keroro often boasts himself as a 'great leader', which is rarely ever proven in-series.
* TooDumbToLive: A lot of times.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Star fruits, {{Justified}} as it 'saved' him in one chapter. ItMakesSenseInContext. The Funimation dub exaggerates his love of hamburgers (or "cow flesh").
* TransformationTrinket: [[spoiler: The Keron Star, which lets him transform into a pre-peace treaty weapon called Warrior Style.]]
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: When acting lazy or selfish. This is especially true in the Funimation dub.
* VerbalTic: Frequently ends his sentences with "...''de arimasu''!".
* VillainProtagonist: Largely a HarmlessVillain, of course. Subverted in his PetTheDog moments.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Has this with almost everyone, but especially with Giroro. That being said, Keroro does actually cherish his friends, with the feeling being mutual.
* WeaksauceWeakness: [[BananaPeel Banana peels]]. He's compelled to step and slip on them.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: In his worst moments, Keroro can be this.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: The Nyororo, large dogs, and Banana Lizards([[BananaPeel Though the last one is for a different reason entirely]]).

[[folder:Private Tamama]]
[[quoteright:286:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pvt_tamama.png]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/EtsukoKozakura (Japanese), Creator/BrinaPalencia (English, Funimation), Alice Beaver (English, Animax), Chantal Macé (French, SMI dub), Ionna Gkizas (French, MIE dub), Pilar Ferrero (Spanish)
The team's youngest member, made obvious by the fact he's still got tadpole features. [[{{Kawaiiko}} Despite his cuteness]], he's got a HairTriggerTemper, a ''massive'' jealous streak, and likes firing his laser when provoked. Also, he ''[[{{Yandere}} loves]]'' Keroro.
----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Keroro is normally [[ObliviousToLove blissfully ignorant]] about his feelings.
* BadassAdorable: He's got shiny eyes and BlushStickers, but he is capable of sending people flying with his BreathWeapon.
* BareFistedMonk: His primary fighting style aside from [[StuffBlowingUp Blowing Stuff Up]].
* BerserkButton: He's got a few, but people acting lovey-dovey towards Keroro is a big one.
* BigEater: He's shown to eat snacks. Tamama likes to eat junk food and sweets the most. Especially candy, cake, soft drinks and potato chips.
* BlushStickers: He has three little pink lines on his face that imply this trope. They vanish when he gets angry, though.
* BreathWeapon: What the Tamama Impact is.
* BrutalHonesty: Uses this on Karara to dissuade her crush... though he doesn't ''realize'' that's what he's doing.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He really doesn't like anyone else getting too close to Keroro.
* CuteAndPsycho: He's the youngest, most excitable member of the platoon. He's also an unstable {{yandere}} who will use his breath attack on anyone who pushes him too far or who he thinks is hitting on Keroro.
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: Well, not quite a child. He still plays up how cute he is, but the mask slips through sometimes.
* DontYouDarePityMe: Goes through this with Mois a couple times.
* EnergyBall: His jealousy ball.
%%* EyeBeams
* FairWeatherMentor: Towards Taruru. Loves the way Taruru strokes his ego, ''hates'' his [[{{Keet}} overwhelming]] [[CheerfulChild cheerfulness]] and [[FearlessFool naivete]].
%%* {{Fartillery}}
* FeetOfClay: Gradually grows disenchanted with Keroro, especially in the manga. Still, he admires Keroro whenever the latter does something well.
* {{Gonk}}: Most of the time, he's a cute frog alien with big shiny eyes. Whenever he's significantly ticked off, his expressions become grotesquely exaggerated and contorted with rage.
* GreenEyedMonster: Jealousy is even his main FatalFlaw.
* HairTriggerTemper: Has quite an explosive one that will be set off with unpleasant results if anyone or anything dares get between him and Keroro.
* HateAtFirstSight: In the third movie, he instantly hates Shivava because of his pompous attitude.
* IgnoredEnamoredUnderling: He has a very obvious crush on Keroro. Unfortunately for him, his boss is as oblivious as he is incompetent.
* {{Kawaiiko}}: Deliberately plays up his cute image.
* KillerRabbit: He's an adorable tadople, but if you make him mad, you'll get a face full of his BreathWeapon.
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: Not like he wasn't crazy to begin with, but getting ''too'' close with his sergeant is one of the ways to make him mad.
* TheNicknamer: Calls Momoka "Momochi", Natsumi "Natchi", Fuyuki "Fucchi", and Mois "that woman". This is less of the case in the Funimation dub.
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: Possibly [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] when he sees that his childhood friend and fanboy Taruru has [[PlotRelevantAgeUp hit puberty]] ahead of him.
* PetTheDog: So long as it does not involve competing with Keroro's affection, Tamama is actually pretty nice.
* PingPongNaivete: How oblivious he is varies depending on the episode, or by how funny it would be.
* ProfessionalButtKisser: Self-described in the dub as Keroro's number-one YesMan.
* SweetTooth: He loves snacks.
%%* ThinkingUpPortals: Seems to have this ability.
* TyrantTakesTheHelm: One episode involves him being instated as the new sergeant. He quickly rises to being a massive tyrant, throwing people into pits just for displeasing him. In the Funimation dub, he even refers to himself as a [[ThoseWackyNazis führer]], if the allusions weren't obvious enough.
* VerbalTic: Japan-only: "''Desu''!"
* WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises: Frequently happens when he drops his cute façade.
* WhyCantIHateYou: He views Angol Mois as his greatest competition for Keroro's affections, but does show some care for her. More prominent in later stories, where he has softened his jealousy.
* {{Yandere}}: Far worse than Momoka, as he tends to go straight for the [[MurderTheHypotenuse hypotenuse-chopping]] option when he can.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Corporal Giroro]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/JojiNakata (Japanese, adult), Creator/AkikoHiramatsu (Japanese, child), Creator/ChristopherSabat (English, Funimation), Scott Evans (English, Animax), Creator/PascalRenwick (French, SMI dub), Arnaud Léonard (French, MIE dub), Víctor Prieto (Spanish)
[[quoteright:284:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cpl_giroro.png]]
Keroro's [[TheLancer Lancer]]. Suspects that he's the only one actually taking the invasion seriously anymore. Hopelessly crushing on Natsumi ever since she beat him up during their first fight.
----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Natsumi doesn't seem to be aware of his crush.
* AmazonChaser: He is attracted to Natsumi due to her fiery personality.
* BerserkButton: Anything that threatens Natsumi.
%%* {{BFG}}: His
* TheBigGuy: Out of the five frogs, he fits this the most, being a tough, combative character with a lot of firepower and a gruff personality who is also very loyal to TheHero. Indeed, the narrative treats him as such whenever it is needed or if it is down to a team of three. However, he is almost ''never'' the strongest physical fighter in the team, barring certain moments.

* BloodKnight: He pretty much lives for war and battle. This is exaggerated more in the Funimation dub.
* BoisterousWeakling: Zig-zagged. He's an elite soldier, but also the target of countless humiliations. It really depends on whether the episode's script wants to laugh at him or along with him.
* BrutalHonesty: It overlaps with HypocriteHasAPoint. Giroro is not afraid of talking to Sarge about how he really feels about him.
* ButtMonkey: Mainly Kururu's.
* BystanderSyndrome: Claims that he is not responsible for Dororo's traumatic past as kids, since he was "just watching" it happen. However, there are instances when Giroro actually did wrong Dororo, if scarce compared to Keroro.
* CanNotSpitItOut: His affections towards Natsumi remain unknown to her.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: He passes out from a few ''drops'' of them.
* TheComicallySerious: He's basically the only frog in the platoon who insists to be professional, but it naturally only leads to comical situations due to the craziness that surrounds him.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Has his moments. In the manga, became so intensely jealous of Koyuki after she first arrived that he attempted to MurderTheHypotenuse. {{Lampshaded}} by Tamama's gloating thoughts about [[NotSoDifferentRemark finally understanding the Corporal]].
* DeadpanSnarker: This is especially the case in the Funimation dub, mainly towards Keroro.
--> '''Keroro:''' Are we all in heaven?\
'''Giroro:''' Not if I'm with you, we're not.
* EnragedByIdiocy: Especially when it comes to Keroro, which is emphasized more in the Funimation dub.
* [[ExpressiveShirt Expressive Hat]]: The skull on his hat.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He has a massive scar over his eye.
* GratuitousEnglish: Sometimes his battle cries veer into this. Including, at one point: "[[ActorAllusion This!]] [[Film/ThreeHundred Is!]] [[PunctuatedForEmphasis SPARTA!]]"
* GreenEyedMonster: Gets this way over Natsumi from time to time.
* GunsAkimbo: Mostly seen wielding [[MoreDakka a machine gun]] and a HandCannon. Dual-wielded if the situation calls for it.
* HighPressureBlood: Early on in the manga, he tended to bleed profusely when experiencing such intense emotions. That particular quirk seems to have fallen by the wayside.
* HighPressureEmotion: Again, commonly set off by Natsumi. In several instances, just sitting around brooding causes him to emit such an intense heat that the others notice and complain/comment on it.
* HonorBeforeReason: When the crew thought Fuyuki may have been killed underwater he insisted that they go back to rescue him or at least recover his body, in spite of innumerable enemies waiting for them.
* HyperspaceArsenal: Can access his weaponry at any time thanks to Keronian technology.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Constantly berates Keroro and others for their incompetence, despite personally causing several invasion plans to fail as well. Even the narrator notes this at one point.
* InformedAbility: His official sobriquet of being "The Most Dangerous Man in the Universe" became a gross hyperbole after just some episodes, if not in the very episode he was introduced.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: This side of him is mostly shown to his cat and Natsumi, but he has his moments with the platoon as well.
* LetsGetDangerous: When the situation turns serious, he's usually as proficent in combat as he looks, as long as he isn't fighting a hopeless enemy.
* LoveAtFirstPunch: He met Natsumi as he was trying to take over the Hinata house. She punched him so hard that his eyes were spinning in his head. Giroro fell in love with her as he fell to the floor.
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: He doesn't seem to be careful about himself...
* MarsNeedsWomen: He has a very blatant crush on Natsumi.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: In the manga, he attempted this on Koyuki right after her introduction.
* NumberTwo: In many ways: he is Keroro's closest friend (as well as the most involved with the invasion after him) and almost as strong as Dororo.
* OnlySaneMan: At times, especially when the others are goofing off.
* PerpetualFrowner: His face is almost always in a frown. He does smile from time to time.
* PetTheDog: Or cat, in this case. Mostly focused around his pet cat and Natsumi. However, he has his moments with Fuyuki, Keroro, and the rest of the platoon.
* PrimalFear: He's terrified of ghosts.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives one to Keroro in the dub of episode 15.
* StayInTheKitchen: Part of his tsun-tsun act in the manga involves him making comments along these lines to Natsumi.
* StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: In some episodes, he's capable of rivaling Dororo; in others, he's a military clown.
* TerribleArtist: During the AmateurFilmMakingPlot episode, it's shown that it took him ''3 hours'' to draw ''one picture''. Said picture resembles that of a child's scribble.
* {{Tsundere}}: He's rude and hot-headed, but he does have a soft side towards those he cares about.
* {{Tsurime Eyes}}: He ''does'' have noticeably pointy eyes...
* TheWorfEffect: Despite being the hard-boiled soldier who has a considerable reputation for martial prowess (or rather because that), Giroro often gets incapacitated by the current threat of the chapter/episode. This tends to occur before he could even fire a single bullet.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Especially with Keroro. Can happen with Dororo as well, whenever Giroro is annoyed by his pacifism.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sergeant Major Kururu]]
[[quoteright:340:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kululu2.png]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/TakehitoKoyasu (Japanese), Creator/ChuckHuber (English), Geoffrey Vigier (French, SMI dub), Pierre Bodson (French, MIE dub), Juan Martín Goirizelaia (Spanish)
The team's [[TheSmartGuy intelligence officer]]. Incredibly smug and self-satisfied, Kururu is constantly inventing all ''sorts'' of weird stuff, but few of these are actually meant to help the invasion... they're just for his own amusement. Loves giving Keroro just enough rope to hang himself, over and over and over again.

[[{{Flanderization}} Much meaner in the anime]], taking out many PetTheDog moments. They EXIST, just not as much.
----
* AdaptationalJerkass: While he's always an asshole, the anime makes him more of one by removing many of his more sympathetic moments.
* AlmightyJanitor: Subverted. Aside from being a technology wizard who can do almost everything, he ''is'' the highest ranked in the platoon, but Keroro is the commander instead of him.
* BrilliantButLazy: His inventions and machines are truly terrifying and might be a force to fear if he employed them seriously and not only to satisfy his weird whims. In fact, if he isn't amused by what's going on, it requires either cash payment or physical coercion to make him actually expend effort for anything.
%%* ClarkesThirdLaw
* CreepyMonotone: Excitement makes his voice rise. This makes him even ''creepier''.
* DepravedDentist: Do not let him anywhere near your teeth. When Keroro's mouth gets invaded by cavity causing aliens, he takes great pleasure in the pain he causes him while looking at his teeth.
* EvilLaugh: ''[[GigglingVillain KU KU KU KU KUUU...!]]''
* FaceFramedInShadow: He ''perpetually'' has a shadow cast over the middle of his face, regardless of the actual lighting.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Four eyes, and a terrifyingly sadistic personality.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Admittedly, this is because he enjoys torturing them.
%%* GratuitousEnglish
* HandyRemoteControl: Always seems to have one around.
* HiddenHeartOfGold:
** More obvious in the manga, where he has several moments showing that for all his {{Jerkass}}ery, he really does care about the rest of his team.
** A notable moment of this in the anime is when he saves fellow [[OddFriendship Wave buddy Saburo]] (spending the month's entire invasion budget in the process) without hesitation.
* HomoeroticSubtext: [[InvokedTrope Deliberately invokes this]] with Giroro in the anime. Whether he's doing this just to screw with his head or out of some ''incredibly'' warped actual ''affection''...
* TheHyena: Frequently begins a sentence by laughing.
* HypercompetentSidekick: Despite being the highest ranking soldier in the platoon, he's perfectly happy being this.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: During the Creator/{{Funimation}} dub anime New Year's Special he off-handedly mentions at one point he just wants to be loved.
* InsufferableGenius: He makes a point to rub in how smart he is to everyone's faces.
* ItAmusedMe[=/=]ForTheEvulz: The reason why he likes torturing his teammates/everyone else.
* {{Jerkass}}: ''Oh boy'', he's probably the biggest one on the show.
* MadScientist: Well, it's more like mad roboticist.
* NerdGlasses: Wears these, swirly eyes and all.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: In the Funimation Dub, his voice is an imitation of Ed Wynn's.
* OddFriendship: With 'Wavelength Buddy' Mutsumi. They aren't even shown interacting all that much, but they seem to be very buddy-buddy. To a lesser extent, Kururu mistreats Keroro less compared to how he treats the rest of the platoon.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: Kululu singlehandedly functions as the go-to frog for any kind of invention. Medical science is the only exception compared to official medics like Pururu, although he is by no means unskilled at it.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: If Kururu stops making cracks in any way, you know the situation is really bad.
** Evidently, in the 5th movie, even he was stunned into silence when [[spoiler: it seemed like Aku-Aku killed Keroro, only speaking once Rana explained that he was still alive.]]
%%* ThePlan: Sometimes he dabbles in these.
* PetTheDog:
** At times, actually shows signs of ''caring'' for others. One episode involved an actual puppy, complete with Natsumi and Fuyuki freaking out over what he might ''do'' to the poor thing, when he was simply petting it for real.
** A good example of the anime [[{{Flanderization}} Flanderizing]] his character is their removal of two of his key moments during the Garuru Platoon's introduction: [[spoiler: encouraging Keroro to keep resisting after losing contact with the others]] and [[spoiler: opening a trap door underneath Keroro to ''force'' him to escape while he attempts to hold off Garuru armed with only his headphones]]. By contrast, Anime!Kururu [[spoiler: simply retreats into his HackerCave, letting Keroro think he's abandoned him]].
* {{Sadist}}: Especially in the dub. The sergeant major enthusiastically delights in inflicting pain on others. It's one of the big reasons everyone is kind of terrified of him.
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: Likes to announce when he presses the buttons on his latest inventions.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: If you see him do ''this'', [[OhCrap it's already too late]].
* TheScrappy: In-universe; The Keroro Platoon are huge celebrities on Keron, except for Dororo (who nobody seems to know about) and Kululu (who is actively despised).
* SecretKeeper: For 623 in the anime. When Giroro finds out that Saburo is 623 and confronts Kululu about it, the latter erases his memory about it.
* SignatureLaugh: Kukuku...
* TheSmartGuy: He's in task of most intellectual or technical matters.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Kururu/Kululu. The English translation of the manga actually switched from Kururu to Kululu around Volume 10 or so, then switched back later on.
* StalkerWithACrush: ''Maybe'' towards Aki.
* TokenEvilTeammate: While all of the platoon members are technically 'villains', he ''still'' fits, being the most sadistic of them all.
* TooKinkyToTorture: This is more of the case in the Funimation dub. When Fuyuki and Natsumi start beating him for tricking them into thinking he was being nice he says it was so worth the punishment he received and is upset when they stop hitting him.
* TransformationRay: One of his favorite gadgets to build.
* TricksterMentor: Certainly isn't above manipulating the others into self-improvement.
* {{Troll}}: He seems to go out of his way to annoy everybody around him.
* VerbalTic: In the Japanese dub, it's "Da ze".

The team's token {{ninja}}. Used to be a [[ShrinkingViolet painfully shy]], sickly child, and so clung rather desperately to his friendship with Keroro... something Keroro shamelessly exploited, leaving him traumatized to the point that any reminder of these abuses triggers his [[HeroicBSOD 'Trauma Switch']] and sends him into the nearest [[CornerOfWoe corner]]. Grew up to become an assassin, then got separated from the others on Earth and found acceptance and peace with a group of ninjas, leading to him changing his name and outlook on life.

* AntiquatedLinguistics: See below.
%%* ApologisesALot
* BewareTheNiceOnes: That cute little tadpole became an ''assassin''. Then a ''[[GratuitousNinja ninja]]''.
* BigDamnHeroes: A specialty of his.
* BigFancyHouse: Lived in one as a child.
* BlueWithShock: [[HeroicBSOD Trauma Switch, on!]]
* BreakTheCutie: PlayedForLaughs during his childhood.
%%* TheChewToy
* CornerOfWoe: He frequently is seen in there when he's made upset.
* ExtremeDoormat: Keroro treated him horribly when they were little, and Zeroro still stuck by his side. Is still susceptible to this as adults, especially in the anime.
* FailedASpotCheck: Often on the other end of this, with others forgetting about him or failing to note his presence.
* {{Flanderization}}: Is typically calm and collected in the manga, although he has his moments. In the anime...
* [[FloweryElizabethanEnglish Flowery Feudal Japanese]]: In the original language, he speaks in an archaic form of Japanese, using "Sessha" as his preferred pronoun and ending his sentences with the highly archaic "de gozaru."
* GoodIsNotDumb: Is considered the TokenGoodTeammate in universe and is credulous when concerning friendship, but not dumb at all. In the manga he is able to beat Mutsumi(who has an IQ of 350+) in a shogi game, and in volume 20 Kururu specifically asks for his help in mechanics. In the anime that is downplay for some reason but he is still shown as highly observant, rational and knowledgeable.
* HeroicBSOD: Goes into these regularly. Shows up far less often in the manga.
* HonorBeforeReason. Dororo has his moments, such as voicing reluctance to use the Keroro robots against Robobo, despite its obvious threat for everyone. Crosses over with SkewedPriorities.
* InformedAbility: He's regularly implied as the best combatant in the platoon. However, Giroro has occasionally matched him, as did Keroro once in a three-way battle. Dororo is no joke as a fighter, but he is less impressive than the narrative states.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: When Koyuki had her [[BroughtDownToNormal ninja skills/memories sealed away]], he was willing to let her live a happy, normal life, even though she could no longer see him.
* LightningBruiser: He is fast and stealthy like the ninja he is and can also perform ''very'' powerful energy techniques.
%%* LonelyRichKid
* MyHeroZero: At least until he took a new name for himself.
* MyKungFuIsStrongerThanYours: Dororo having trained as a ninja on Earth gives him a valuable edge against Keron-trained Assassins, matching Zoruru toe-to-toe.
* NatureLover: His favorite hobbies include training deep in forests and admiring flowers. His first idea for the invasion is to fill the city with them to conquer pekopon via peace.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: The manga doesn't [[OutOfFocus spotlight him very often]], so it's not unusual for him to abruptly show up and whip out a new Assassin Art or Ninja Art and [[BigDamnHeroes bail the others out]].
* NeverMyFault. Has shades of this. True, his friends shouldn't have forgotten about him after arriving onto Pekopon. However, unlike Giroro or Kururu, Dororo never even attempted to reunite with Keroro, despite knowing where he is. Considering that they are on an alien planet, Dororo normally wouldn't have the luxury to wait for his friends.
* NiceGuy: Despite him having Trauma Switches during the flashbacks to his childhood, he's actually one of the nicest characters in the show.
* NoMouth: Always shown wearing a ninja, assassin or medical mask.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Apparently expects regular payment from Keroro, despite being the main reason why their platoon can't conquer Pekopon.
* PingPongNaivete: In the anime, he often winds up asking "Keroro, are we really friends...?", with predictable results.
* PoweredArmor: The H-to-H Assassin suit (which bears more than a passing resemblance to Zoruru's enhancements...)
* SecretlySelfish: Very rarely, Dororo can be this, if directed solely towards his platoonmates. In one notable instance, he initially refused to save them from Geriri's actions. Sure, circumstances led to a harsh parting, but considering how Keroro and the others would have DIED, Dororo clearly went too far. Thankfully, Koyuki's WhatTheHellHero speech helped Dororo rethink his decision.
%%* ShrinkingViolet
%%* [[ShyBlueHairedGirl Shy Blue]] ''[[ShyBlueHairedGirl Skinned]]'' [[ShyBlueHairedGirl Boy]]
* SixthRanger: Not ''supposed'' to be this, as he was always a member of the team, but the others tend to forget he exists so he comes off as this, with Angol Mois arguably being a more prominent member.
* TechnicalPacifist: Never wants to hurt others but often fights to protect others.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Will never condone harming innocent humans in any manner.
* TraumaCongaLine: The [[{{Flanderization}} anime]] just ''loves'' [[PlayedForLaughs playing this for laughs]], ''especially'' during [[HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood flashbacks to the frogs' childhood]].
* TheUnfavorite: Played for laughs, mostly caused by Dororo's inability to read the atmosphere. Extends to his portrayal within Keron Force media (such as being seated behind a plant during a news conference), although still more loved than Kururu.
* WindmillCrusader: At least in the anime, where Koyuki is about the only one who sympathizes with his idealism.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Especially in the Funimation dub. In Dororo's debut, Fuyuki and Tamama [[LampshadeHanging both lampshade it.]]

A timid NiceGuy who loves the occult. Very introverted, but he's compassionate and polite, and very inquisitive about the world at its weirdest.
----
%% * ABoyAndHisX: A boy and his alien frog hell-bent on world domination. %% Add more context to describe their relationship and what effect it has on them. %%
* AgentMulder: He is very excited about the paranormal, compared to Natsumi.
* AllLovingHero: Doesn't seem to have a bad bone in his body and is almost ridiculously forgiving of others. More apparent in the anime.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: When he ''snaps'', all we get to see is his BattleAura and [[HiddenEyes shadowed eyes]] -- never what he actually ''does''. Even ''Natsumi'' is absolutely terrified of pushing Fuyuki too far, and Keroro, normally somewhat made of iron, was reduced to a stammering, terrified mess at ''whatever'' he did to him the first time this happened...
* BigBrotherMentor: Has a shade of this towards Tomosu in the manga.
* BookDumb: Does poorly in school, but is clearly one of the smartest characters in the show.
* ChubbyChaser: Doesn't seem to be one, but Keroro teases him about a former crush of his having gained weight. Though, from what was seen of her, she was of a very normal weight.
* CluelessChickMagnet: If it's female, and weird (weird as in a [[SplitPersonality schizo]] billion-heiress, an EmotionlessGirl with a shape-shifting space entity on her head, and a mermaid) there's a huge chance they will have a thing for him. He may not have an extensive fanclub like Natsumi, but at least four girls have crush on him. [[BoyMeetsGhoul Only half of said girls are human]] and [[ObliviousToLove he doesn't know of any of their feelings at all]].
* ExtremeDoormat: Until you push him ''too'' far.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Whether they be human, alien, or monster.
* TheHeart: Keroro's walking conscience who always tries to resolve things peacefully.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: He and Keroro are inseparable. It's implied that Keroro was the first friend Fuyuki ever had.
* IdiotHair: A little blue one sticks out of the top of his head.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Feminine boy to... just about every girl he knows, really, but it's most pronounced with Natsumi.
* MoralityPet: He's this along with Angol Mois, since he's usually the one who guilt trips the sergeant to reconsidering whenever he takes a plan for invasion too far.
* NiceGuy: Just don't [[BewareTheNiceOnes push his buttons too far]]...
* NonActionGuy: He has a tendency to sit back and watch events unfold.
* ObliviousToLove: Despite all of Momoka's StalkerWithACrush and {{Yandere}} tendencies, Fuyuki remains none the wiser to her affections, though it has been implied on a few occasions that he's perfectly aware.
* RedOniBlueOni: Surprisingly, the red to Tomosu's blue in the 2014 anime. {{Justified}} since Fuyuki is much younger in this version. In the original anime he's the blue to his older, more easily angered sister's red.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: To his mother.
* ThisLoserIsYou: His social unpopularity and lack of skills is supposed to represent us, but he makes up for by sheer kindness and willing to help others. The Funimation dub ''really'' exaggerates this, although he doesn't seem overly bothered by it.
* UncattyResemblance: While it's not immediately obvious, he and Keroro are both outcasts in their societies who are more interested in hobbies considered weird by their species (manga and anime for Keroro, the occult for Fuyuki) than their actual jobs. They also both tend to get kicked around a lot.
* WeirdnessMagnet: More supernatural things have happened to him than any of the other cast. Unusually for this trope, he ''loves'' it this way. Natsumi, not so much... To the point it's why Alisa first interacts with him.[[/folder]]

Fuyuki's tomboyish older sister, she considers herself--correctly--to be the first line of defense against Keroro's taking over the planet. Has a massive crush on Mutsumi, and is good friends with Koyuki.
----
* AcademicAthlete: She excels at both her school work and at sports, despite having little to no interest in the latter.
* ActionGirl: The platoon and even the Keron Army are awed by her prowess.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Hopelessly crushes on Mutsumi, while getting crushed on by Giroro, Koyuki, several of her female classmates...
* AntiHero: Type 2. She's protecting the Earth, [[GoodIsNotNice even if she's a violent, anti-social brute]]. In fairness, the aliens she protects Earth from do cause a lot of trouble, and Natsumi herself tones down the violence over time.
* AgentScully: Compared to her brother, she usually doesn't succumb to the idea of extraterrestrial happenings that easily.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: When Keroro goes missing because his space scooter breaks down in the middle of nowhere she volunteers to go find him. She responds to any accusations of care by saying she's just trying to avoid the attention if he gets found but she gives a warm smile when she finally gets him back.
* BadassAdorable: She's a cute, young teenager who just happens to be able to perform super human feats in the name of stopping Keroro's (half-assed) attempts at world domination.
* BadassNormal: She somehow beat Giroro's web of booby traps armed with nothing but a stalk of leek during their first encounter.
* BigSisterInstinct: Gets riled up when Keroro's shenanigans threaten to being harm to her little brother, such as when he teleports him to parts unknown while they're playing a life-sized board game.
* CantLiveWithThemCantLiveWithoutThem: Her relationship with Keroro in general.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Is SOMEHOW able to keep up with other supernatural threats.
* DeadpanSnarker: She’s more of this in the dub, but the original version has her fair share of snark.
* DefrostingIceQueen: She may still be suspicious of the Keronians in general, but she warms up to them overtime. She even more or less stops picking on Keroro so frequently.
* DisappearedDad: Her father travels the world and is rarely home. [[spoiler:He only appears in person in episode 357.]]
* TheDreaded: The Keroro Platoon are all are utterly horrified of Natsumi's wrath, and at least try not to upset her too much.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Has a considerable all-female fanclub at school, to the point that she received two shopping bags worth of chocolate for Valentine's Day one year.
* EveryoneHasStandards: While Natsumi can be harsh to Keroro, even she is horrified that the Garuru Platoon have brainwashed him.
* GirlishPigtails: An interesting example. While they stay the same length throughout the manga, in the anime, they get shorter and shorter with each passing season until she practically has BoyishShortHair in the final season.
* GoodIsNotNice: She's not the nicest person around, but she keeps the Keroro Platoon in check. At times, her attitude towards Keroro border onto viciously cruel and sadistic, even when it's clearly unwarranted. [[UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist To be fair, he can be a jerk, especially in earlier stories]].
* HiddenEyes: If she has these, it's a sure sign of trouble brewing for Keroro or someone else.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Uses a ''leek'' to deflect ''bomb blasts''. She also shielded herself with a school bag from Giroro's missiles. It's as ridiculous as it sounds.
* {{Jerkass}}[=/=]JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Wavers between back and forth, although the former is her more common side at first.
* JerkassHasAPoint: She's violent and mean towards Keroro, even when he doesn't mean harm. That said, he does cause trouble a lot.
* KarmaHoudini: Unlike Keroro, she will almost never be punished for mistreating him or his platoonmates.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: At times though, her luck will run out, if very scarce. In one episode, Keroro loses his voice, causing him to suffer from Natsumi and the others' antics. He ultimately gets back at them.
* KnuckleCracking: When those knuckles start cracking, a beating is about to ensue.
* PoweredArmor: Her Powered 723 suit.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Masculine girl to Fuyuki's feminine boy.
* RedBaron: According to Fuyuki in the manga, her overprotective streak during elementary school earned her the nickname ''Devil Summer''.
* RedOniBlueOni: She takes things in a very excited manner, unlike her more collected younger brother.
* PseudoRomanticFriendship: Goes on dates with Koyuki, as friends, although it may not be [[AmbiguouslyGay entirely platonic]] on Koyuki's part (at least in the anime; in the manga, it isn't platonic on Koyuki's part ''at all'').
* RoseHairedSweetie: As long as you're not Keroro, or up to some supernatural mischief, she's a pretty sweet friend to have, particularly to Koyuki.
* {{Shorttank}}: What she wears in the summer-time.
* SiblingYinYang: She's assertive and loves sports, while her brother is withdrawn and nerdy.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She's quite the tomboy, but also has traditionally feminine interests such as shopping and cooking. She's also quite the romantic.
* TookALevelInKindness: Has eased up on her alien friends.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Seems to be sweet-potatoes.
* {{Tsundere}}: A vicious Type A on par with the likes of [[Literature/TheFamiliarOfZero Louise]].
* UncattyResemblance: She is very temperamental, sharing this trait with Giroro.
%%* WaifFu

* CompositeCharacter: In the manga, his name is Hojo Mutsumi. For some reason, the anime conflates him with another character called Saburo, who is a basketball pal of his in the manga, and gives him the composite name of Saburo Mutsumi.
* CovertPervert: ''Strong'' undertones of this in the manga, bordering on HandsomeLech.
* DissonantSerenity: Nothing unnerves him or makes him lose his cool expression.
* {{Expy}}: Very much resembles [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Kaworu Nagisa]], and is even voiced by the same voice actor. His descent to the secret base is even inspired on Kaworu's to the Geofront.
* FriendlessBackground: Before meeting Kururu.
* ImpossiblyHighIQ: Said to be 350.
%%* MrFanservice
* OddFriendship: With Kururu; described as being "Wavelength buddies".
* OutOfFocus: Frequently sees less action than the other human characters.
* PowerOfCreation: His pen.
* UncattyResemblance: He and Kururu are both tricksters who enjoy messing with people, he's just generally more pleasant and charismatic so it's harder to tell.
* UnfazedEveryman: He doesn't seem too fazed about the aliens who have come to invade.

A cute, cheerful {{Ninja}} girl who found Zeroro and brought him back to her [[HiddenElfVillage Hidden Ninja Village]], befriending him and eventually accompanying him to the city, where she [[NewTransferStudent transferred into Natsumi's school]] and helped him locate the others.
----
* ActionGirl: She's capable of performing various feats most teenage girls couldn't.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Her devotion to Natsumi frequently has overt romantic undertones. Episodes do occasionally reference her being attracted to boys, however.
* AnIcePerson: Many of her special moves are ice-based.
* BadassAdorable: She innocently shows off her superhuman abilities by performing a WallCrawl on the side of a building in front of a whole crowd of people. Why did she think it was necessary? The third floor of the building had a restaurant that sold parfaits she wanted to try.
* CountryMouse: This is exaggerated in the English dub, but she's from a simple rural background in both versions.
* GenkiGirl: Very hyperactive and as a person raised away from most, very interested in getting to learn about how people work.
* HighlyVisibleNinja: She's good at keeping out of sight when she wants, it's just... she's not so good about ''hiding'' her skills in normal, everyday life.
* MsFanservice: Combines this with InnocentFanserviceGirl
* NewTransferStudent: Introduced as this.
* NoSocialSkills: In an innocent and adorable way. She does things like try to crawl into the luggage section of a train because she thinks it would be a comfy place to sit. Natsumi is trying to help teach her how normal people act.
* UncattyResemblance: She and Dororo are both self-conscious ninjas obsessed with friendship. Dororo is considerably more jaded than she is, however.

The show's narrator. He usually points out the silliness of the series, while explaining things for the viewers.
----
* ButtMonkey: In the Funimation dub, he is stuck working on a show he hates/doesn't understand.
* DeadpanSnarker: Mainly in the Funimation dub. At times in the original Japanese.
* DubPersonalityChange: Aside from his moments of snark, the Narrator is a fairly nice guy in the original Japanese, being fond of Keroro and the others. The Funimation dub makes him cynical and spiteful.
* LemonyNarrator: Moreso in the Funimation dub. He's always commenting on the absurdities on the show, how much he doesn't like it, and is only doing the job to pay rent/gambling debts.
* TheMenInBlack: Appears dressed as a Kuroko with [[BroughtToYouByTheLetterS a big red N over his face.]]
* TrappedByGamblingDebts: In the Funimation dub he will sometimes mention he is thankful for the job helping him pay off his gambling debts.

The surprisingly [[{{Moe}} cute]] Lord of Terror who was sent to destroy Earth as according to the prophecy of Nostradamus. Only she kind of missed her cue, and Keroro manages to convince her not to go through with it by virtue of being her beloved "Uncle". Sort of an honorary SixthRanger of the Keroro Platoon, though for obvious reasons she can't show off her moves all that often.
----
* AffablyEvil: She's technically an OmnicidalManiac, not that you could tell.
* ApocalypseMaiden: She was destined to cause it, but...
* BadassAdorable: She's a cute girl with a very innocent personality but she also wields the Lucifer Staff which can cause TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt if she chooses to.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: Invoked; she's the Lord of Terror from Nostradamus' predictions because she told him of her arrival so he could warn the rest of the planet.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In the Funimation dub, the GratuitousSpanish aspect of her character was eventually dropped.
* CosplayOtakuGirl: Seems to have fun dressing in various cutesy costumes.
%%* CuteClumsyGirl
* DidWeJustHaveTeaWithCthulhu: The volume 19 of manga elaborate this. The Angols are beings from higher plan of existence, and while you can subdue them with [[KryptoniteFactor Angol Stone]], they are essentially an enigma. Keroro is among the few that have gained the species' trust.
* DumbBlonde: Her naivete and Pekoponian disguise makes her seem like this. She's a bit more of this in the Funimation dub.
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: In the dubbed version of the anime, she [[PoirotSpeak slips in the occasional Spanish word]] with no real explanation why.
* GyaruGirl: She has a fairly subdued kogal appearance in her human form. She's already AmbiguouslyBrown, but has platinum blonde hair instead of her natural silver hair when she chooses to stay on Earth. She wears a simple brown and white school uniform, skirt, and loose socks. It definitely adds to her character design's cuteness.
** Apparently, her father told her to do it so as to blend in.
* HoldingBackThePhlebotinum: {{Justified|Trope}} by the destructive nature of her powers; [[spoiler: one manga chapter revealed [[StepfordSmiler she was hiding]] the negative effects this was having on her.]]
* HumanoidAbomination: She's the god of terror (formerly) destined to wipe out the Earth. She certainly doesn't act like it.
* LoveMartyr: Towards her 'Uncle'. She'll do anything if it means it'll make him happy.
* MagicalGirl: Her transformation sequences, stylized costume, and related accessories may make her a parody of the "magical girl" genre.
* MagicStaff: The "Lucifer Spear", with has the power to ''[[EarthShatteringKaboom destroy the world]]''. Her main attack is called "Hellmageddon" and can destroy a planet in a matter of seconds to full power.

* SleptThroughTheApocalypse: Exaggerated in the anime. She slept through the one ''she was supposed to cause.''
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Angol Moa in the manga, Angol Mois in the anime.
* TeamPet: An interesting inversion on the usual formula, given how the Keronians look, whereas Mois appears human-like.
* ValleyGirl: In all versions, although taken up to eleven in the Spanish dub.

An old childhood friend of Keroro's, Kogoro is a Space Detective who always seems to be down on his luck. Despite this, he always seems cheerful, laughing and grinning no matter ''what'' he might be thinking.
----
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: One even by the usual standards. He makes most other characters look sane by comparison.
* TheExoticDetective: By virtue of being a weirdo. That being said, he is a nice guy, with his friendship towards Keroro apparent.
* HotBlooded: Lives and breathes this. He's literally hot blooded enough to ''melt ice''.
* IdiotHero: An energetic exaggeration.
* LargeHam: The largest one in the butcher shop. He makes [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kamina]], [[Manga/MyHeroAcademia All-Might]], and Creator/TimCurry look calm by comparison.
* PerpetualExpression: His face is perennially in a sort of powerful laughing expression (though he can lose the smile and shout in fear in extreme moments of danger). Only Rabbie can see through it and read his true emotions.
* ShoutOut: He's a parody of Creator/KenjiOhba, the star of a {{Toku}} series called ''Series/SpaceSheriffGavan''. His name also comes from Kogoro Mouri from ''Manga/CaseClosed''.
** His associated gadgets are also parodies of ''Gavan'' and other ''Series/MetalHeroes'' gear, including: a [[PoweredArmor Powered Helmet]][[note]]As in, the set consists entirely of a helmet and ''nothing else''[[/note]], a [[LaserBlade Laser]] [[WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter Shinai]], and a [[CoolBike Cool Kid's Tricycle]].

----
%%* TheAce: Is far more skilled in combat than Dororo himself.
* AloofBigBrother: How it appears, when it really isn't the case upon closer inspection.
* BigBrotherMentor: This is more obvious in the manga, where he's introduced long ''before'' the {{Wham Episode}}s, and is clearly shown before and afterwards to be very fond of his baby brother, despite Giroro's occasional [[GreenEyedMonster seething jealousy]].
* TheChessmaster: [[spoiler: May have been subtly manipulating the entire battle to make the Keroro Platoon look good. More obvious in the manga, where he explicitly spares Kururu's life and sends him to take on Tororo, which turns the tide of battle.]]

* GogglesDoNothing: His hat has an unique design, featuring a triangular nosepiece with yellow goggles covering his eyes. Their utility, however, is completely unknown.
* HeavyMetal: His music of choice.
* ImprobableChopsticksSkill: Inverted and PlayedForLaughs. Garuru is terrible at using chopsticks.

* PunchClockVillain: Doesn't really think of following his orders as evil; [[spoiler: when Tamama shows up for a rematch, is genuinely shocked by the idea that "[[HeelRealization I'm the villain in this story?!]]"]]
* StealthInsult: His initial confrontation with Tamama during the Garuru Platoon's invasion of Earth. It comes to a head when he stops calling Tamama "Sir" after he knocks him out. Becomes a BreakTheHaughty when Tamama beats him in a rematch.
* UnluckyChildhoodFriend: The anime has him appearing alongside Karara a few times before his PlotRelevantAgeUp. So far, Karara has yet to turn her flings of affection towards him.

* ArtificialLimbs: At least a full half of his body, ''bisected down the middle'', has been replaced with robotics.
* BrokenAce: Rivals Dororo in combat, even when the latter combined his Assassin Magic and Ninjutsu skills.
* BerserkButton: Being ignored.
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: Zoruru had this during his childhood, and it only got more menacing when he became an assassin.

* FailedASpotCheck: Like Dororo, ends up on the other end of this several times. One chapter plays with this, as [[spoiler: he sits in on a meeting with the Keroro Platoon, taking Dororo's usual spot so that the reader's eye may glide right over him without seeing anything amiss... despite having just seen Dororo leaving with Koyuki.]] That's ''before'' the others take it up to eleven.

[[folder:Keroro-papa]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/KenichiOgata (Japanese) and Greg Dulcie (English)
Keroro's father and a very famous war veteran. The mere mention of his name sets off all ''kinds'' of ParentalIssues for his terrified son. However, in person, he seems to be rather laidback...
----
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Usually acts like a normal middle-aged man, even being absent-minded at times. Still, Keroro-papa was an incredible soldier in his prime, with even members of the Viper race in fear of him. Furthermore, he and Giroro's father are close friends with mythical figures like Santa Claus.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Keroro-mama certainly seems to think so, noting their airheaded nature and immense potential. This is more evident in the dub, where Keroro's dad is rewritten as a proud war criminal.
* RetiredBadass
* UnnamedParent: Like most of the parents...
* WellDoneSonGuy: Just the mention of his name turns Keroro into this. Ironically, Keroro-papa clearly dotes on him, even if Keroro's fear prevents him from recognizing it.

[[folder:Keroro-mama]]
!!!Voiced by: Sachiko Chijimitsu (Japanese)
Keroro's mother who first appeared in the [=KeroZero=] short shown before the 4th Movie. She's very loving toward her son like a good mother, but she also seems to have a tricky side to her.
----
* [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents Amazingly Embarrassing Parent]]: She just loves thanking everyone in Keroro's presence, offering them gifts as a show of appreciation for 'looking after her son'.
* BodySnatcher: Although Natsumi was the one who had the idea of switching bodies with her, with the consent of both, afterwards she just disappeared with Natsumi's body, going to sight see Pekopon and even on a date with Giroro (Even though he knew it was Keroro's mother) while Natsumi in her body got dragged to another city by Keroro's father, who didn't know what happened.
%%* DotingParent
* GenerationXerox: Her son definitely got her looks.
* HiddenDepths: Despite acting like a stereotypical housewife from the late 90s, Keroro-mama can be quite astute at times, with both Keroro and Keroro-papa afraid of her wrath. Furthermore, she once off-handedly mentions being lunch friends with Obaba, whom Kururu revealed later on as the former ''supreme commander'' in the Keron army's Grand Star branch.
* HopelessWithTech: Is pretty bad at using her cellphone, even accidentally sending a message for Keroro to her "lunch friend" in episode 262.
* MrsRobinson: She actually went into this on ''Giroro''. Played entirely for laughs, since Giroro's lust for Natsumi's body is clearly at effect.
* ShoutOut: Her design is very reminiscent of the mother in {{Atashinchi}}, who was voiced by Creator/KumikoWatanabe, Keroro's voice actor.

An anime-exclusive character based on a fan submission, Joriri is an unshaven bum who appears in various [[WholeEpisodeFlashback flashbacks]], giving the Keroro, Giroro, Zeroro and Pururu questionable advice and generally being a poor role model. May have been introduced to add an "adult!Keroro" style character to the past, even though the younger Keroro already filled that role. Recently showed up in the present.
----
* IceCreamKoan: His big gimmick involves imparting an extremely odd form of sage wisdom that doesn't make a lot of sense.
* PermaStubble: Not an action hero, though.

* EmergencyTransformation: Granted, she couldn't do it until the characters actually got along again.
* ExpositionFairy: To Keroro and Fuyuki.
