A tough, cocky, and sassy {{Joisey}} stereotype obsessed with her physical appearance and other material things. She is rarely ever seen without her trusty hairsprays and spray tans, which she applies near constantly to ensure she always looks her best.
----
* ActionGirl: Anne Maria is easily angered if her looks are disrespected and she's vicious and close to unstoppable when that happens.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: She is immediately attracted to Mike's bad boy personality, Vito.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: With her spray tan and accent, it's hard to tell if she is intended to be of Italian descent or Hispanic descent ([[BreadEggsBreadedEggs or possibly a mix of both]], much like her real-life inspiration).
* AnimeHair: It's long, it's thick, it [[HairColorDissonance may be]] a [[PurpleIsTheNewBlack deep purple]] and due to consistent applying of hairspray, it constantly stays up, and it's almost indestructible.
* AntiHero: She's vain, stuck-up, and can be quite violent if messed with, but she's had several PetTheDog moments, is nice to Cameron and (initially) Zoey, saves Jo from suffocating, stands up for Brick twice, and doesn't do anything that would reasonably be considered evil.
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: She wears a frilly crop top and is ''always'' concerned with how she looks.
* BerserkButton: Insulting her looks, taking away her styling products, or [[NobodyTouchesTheHair touching her hair]] are surefire ways to make her angry and ready for a fight. When Jo insulted her hairstyle in "Ice Ice Baby", Anne Maria lunges after Jo but she accidently hits Brick instead, and later in the same episode, Anne Maria vows to get back at Jo when the latter throws the former's hairspary can towards the Rats' fort.
* BettyAndVeronica: Veronica to Zoey's Betty with Mike as Archie, though Anne Maria is attracted to [[LovesMyAlterEgo Vito, Mike's Italian tough guy personality]], not his actual one. She loses in the end.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The brunette to Jo's blonde and Zoey's redhead.
* BookDumb: She admits that she's no algebra expert in "Finders Creepers". She makes up for it by being somewhat StreetSmart.
* BrooklynRage: Although it's never confirmed where she's from, she certainly fits the attitude, considering that she is based off Snooki.
* ContinuityCameo: She's walking around New York in the finale of ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* DreadfulMusician: In her audition tape she claims to have signed up for ''Total Drama'' after watching a ''World Tour'' episode with one of her friends, stating that she knew the show needed her and starts signing very badly until cracking the camera lens after reaching a high note.
* DubNameChange: In the European French dub, she was renamed Esmeralda.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite her shallowness and antagonism with some of her teammates, even she is disgusted by Jo's bad attitude. In "Finders Creepers" when Brick suddenly goes missing and Jo says he is deadweight, she tells Jo that "Brick may not be attractive in anyway, but he is still a ''person''."
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: She is obsessed with her looks, particularly her hair; however, she will beat down those who would dare cross her.
* HairColorDissonance: It's likely black or dark brown, but it looks dark purple.
* HairTriggerTemper: ([[AccidentalPun Pun not intended]]) She tends to get angered quickly. She also tends to threaten to beat down whomever made her mad.
* HammerspaceHair: She often keeps things, namely styling products, in her gigantic poof.
-->'''Zoey:''' ''(referring to Anne Maria's hair brush and hair dryer)'' Hey! How'd you sneak that in?\
'''Anne Maria:''' Easy! I stuck it in my poof! ''(pulls out a can of hairspray)''
* HandyFeet: She admits in "Ice Ice Baby" that she drives with her feet to keep her nails in pristine condition.
* HartmanHips: A perfect example of that trope, Anne Maria possesses very large hips and a pronounced rear.
* HiddenDepths: The most vocal against the abuse of Brick and Cameron at the hands of Jo in "Finders Creepers". Despite her defenses of them calling them ugly, she actually gets along pretty well with them.
* HypocriticalHumour: After kissing Mike (in his Vito persona), she then tells Zoey that "Vito" is only interested in classy girls...[[{{Gasshole}} then she belches in an unladylike fashion]].
* ImprobableWeaponUser:
** She uses her spray tan against the camera during the intro sequence and against Dakota and Staci in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!".
** Her hair is so thick and solid from all the primping and hairspray that objects just bounce off of it. It shields her from falling blocks of ice in "Ice, Ice, Baby" and Brick and Zoey use her hair as a shield during the snow fort fight later that episode.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She has a big ego and a nasty temper, but outside of challenges she's pretty friendly (as long as none of her berserk buttons are pressed, that is).
* {{Joisey}}: Check her title: "The ''Series/JerseyShore'' Reject"
* TheLancer: On the Mutant Maggots at times, due to [[FightingTheLancer providing the biggest resistance]] to BadBoss Jo.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: The sassy and crass Dark to Zoey's sweet and demure Light.
* TheLoad: Anne Maria can be a liablity in challenges, since she doesn't want to ruin her looks, even for a million dollars.
* LovableAlphaBitch: She behaves like a stereotypical AlphaBitch (like Heather or Courtney), which is supported by her "{{Joisey}} style", but is nonetheless a much friendlier one.
* LovesMyAlterEgo: Had a short-lived relationship with Mike's Italian personality, Vito.
* MirrorCharacter: She's very similar to both Eva and Leshawna considering that like the former she's an aggressive and tough contestant who's easily angered and provoked but has a heart of gold and is very sassy like the latter.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: The in-between to Zoey's nice and Jo's mean. While Anne Maria can be a {{Jerkass}} at times, she doesn't go out of her way to be mean the same way Jo does.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: She is an obvious parody of [[Series/JerseyShore Snooki]], from her physical appearance to her attitude. Even her label is a dead giveaway.
* NobodyTouchesTheHair: One of her many {{Berserk Button}}s.
--> '''Anne Maria''': You touch my pouf, I'll touch you!
* NonGameplayElimination: She walks off after getting a giant diamond from Ezekiel in the mine. Too bad it turned out to be a fake.
* OhCrap: She decides to quit the game after getting a giant diamond from Ezekiel in the mine, figuring she doesn't need to million anymore now that she has it. When Chris tells her that her "diamond" is actually "cubic zirconium" and is therefore practically worthless, she changes her mind and tries to get off the catapult, only for Chris to hurl her and Brick away before she can.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: Her dark hair has a noticeable purple shade onto it.
* SaveTheVillain: She prevents [[JerkJock Jo]] from asphyxiating underwater when Zoey carelessly stands on her oxygen pump by pushing the latter off.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: She immediately quits the competition when she gets a hold of a giant diamond. Too bad it was cubic zirconia, which is virtually worthless.
* SkewedPriorities: Her looks are more important to her than the million dollars.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A, although a milder variation due to her decent personality.
* UncannyValleyMakeUp: Orange-tanned skin, blue eyeliner, pink lipstick... it's there alright.
* VictoriasSecretCompartment: Keeps the key hidden between her breasts in "Finders Creepers".

An army brat who possesses great strength and unyielding loyalty. Brick shows nothing but soldierly respect for his fellow competitors and firmly lives by the code to "never leave a man behind". Despite appearances though, he is actually very sensitive and quite soft at heart.
----
* TheBigGuy: Of the Mutant Maggots, though he loses this role after transferring to the Toxic Rats as almost his entire team was composed of brawn.
* BigOlUnibrow: Brick's unibrow serves two purposes: it's part of his military-tough exterior and it's part of his kind and silly personality.
* BullyAndWimpPairing: On a psychological level, Brick's the Wimp to Jo's Bully.
* ButtMonkey: To the point of being TheChewToy.
* CharacterTic: When given orders, he almost always salutes.
* DeadpanSnarker: This is his reaction when Mike, who is in his Vito personality, is holding the flag and refusing to give it up.
-->'''Brick:''' "Come on mate, the play's over, you win best actor, now give me the flag!"
* ExtremeDoormat: According to Dawn, Brick has a need to dominate which is justified because Brick was trained to be an obedient military cadet.
* GentleGiant: He's physically strong but never aggressive.
* GoodIsNotNice: Brick is one of the most heroic and honorable contestants in all of ''Total Drama'', but he does have a pragmatic mean streak. He was one of the characters that enjoyed Cameron's accidental admission he wore a diaper until 11, picked up from Jo's intent to utilize Anne Maria's hair as a shield during the snow castle challenge, agreed with Dawn's plan to use a malnourished and drugged-up Lightning as makeshift skis, and laughed at Scott with everyone else after the latter was mauled by Fang to the point of being reduced to being put in a trauma chair.
* HeroicSacrifice: Only, instead of dying, he gets eliminated. See NoOneGetsLeftBehind for more details.
* HonorBeforeReason: He volunteers to take the Hurl of Shame after his team lost in "Finders Creepers".
* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: Despite being a tough military cadet, he has a strong love for fashion, is terrified of the dark, and is a proud multi-year medalist for teamwork, bed-making, flag-folding, and letters home to mom.
* IronButtMonkey: The pre-merge pain magnet in ''Revenge of the Island''.
* {{Leitmotif}}: A military drum beat.
* LovableCoward: Despite being a cadet, Brick can be a coward at times. One particular example is when Brick attempts to bring his team's totem down in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!".
* LovableJock: Though he's an athletic military cadet who's a pretty cool guy.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The Feminine Boy to Jo's Masculine Girl. Both are depicted as tough; however, Brick has a more sensitive side, whereas Jo is more aggressive.
* MeaningfulName: His surname [=McArthur=] seems to be a reference to World War II general UsefulNotes/DouglasMacArthur, which highlights his military-themed characterization.
* MirrorCharacter
** Of Tyler, as they're both the [[TheBigGuy athletic males]] on their teams, who are kind-hearted and have a "[[NoOneGetsLeftBehind Leave No Man Behind]]" attitudes. Also, both serve as the main [[IronButtMonkey pain magnets]] of a season, and lose to an athletic female in the opening.
** Of DJ, although Brick isn't as [[MyBelovedSmother dependent on his mother]] as DJ is.
* MommasBoy: He clearly loves his mother dearly so much that he brags about always winning "the letters home to mom medal"
* NiceGuy: Brick's a kind and heroic gentleman who [[NoOneGetsLeftBehind never leaves a teammate behind]].
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: {{Justified|Trope}} that he'd have this instinct since he is a cadet. When the other Maggots are captured by the spider, Jo tells him to ignore it for once, finish, and come in first, winning the challenge in "Finders Creepers." He does make it to the end first, but it turns out that the team with the ''most members'' across wins, so if he had ignored Jo and followed his instinct to rescue his teammates, the Maggots would've won. This trait ironically gets him eliminated three episodes later when he chooses to rescue the other team from danger instead of winning the challenge.
* NonSequiturThud: During "Truth and Laser Shark", he gets hit in the face with one of the cannonballs, yet he drags himself to the end of the obstacle anyway, maggot in hand.
--> '''Jo:''' "Faster, Soggy Pants! Go, go go!!"
-->'''Brick:''' "Doiiee!" (hands Jo the maggot) "Here's your cat!" (faceplants)
* OfficerAndAGentleman: He's only a cadet, but considering he's the only one in the show with any military training he still counts. He has a strong NoOneGetsLeftBehind philosophy, gives up his chance of winning a challenge to save the opposing team from a giant, mutant gopher and would be the TeamDad if his rival Jo didn't have near-full control of the team.
* RealMenWearPink: In a confessional, he says that he's received medals for "Bed-Making" and "[[MommasBoy Letters Home to Mom]]". After Cameron shares the prize money with his fellow contestants, Brick reveals that he plans to go to fashion school.
* TheRival: To Jo, with the two of them always competing with each other in athletic events.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Not as high pitched as Lightning's or Scott's though.
* SmellyFeetGag: Brick has horrible foot odor, and he uses this to his advantage when captured by gophers.
* TeamDad: He tries to act as one, but Jo maintains near-total control of their team.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Once the Toxic Rats get whittled down to just him, Jo, and Lightning.
* VerbalTic: Has a tendency to start his sentences with military terms like "Sir!"
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He is afraid of the dark, having to sleep with a night light.

->''"I am what is known as a {{bubble boy}}. Growing up, [[MyBelovedSmother my mom was REALLY overprotective]], so I've never gone swimming before. 133
Having being placed in a bubble for his entire life by his overprotective mother, Cameron has never done anything outside of reading and studying before joining ''Total Drama''. As a result, he is very intelligent and interested in making friends, but also physically weak and quite timid.
----
* AdmiringTheAbomination: He finds Dakota's mutation to be fascinating.
* AffectionateNickname: Has been given several of these by others, such as "Stringbean" by Jo and "Shortstuff" by Anne Maria, though interestingly both of these started as insults before Cameron earned each of their respect.
* ArchEnemy:
** To Scott. There is no one that Cameron despises more than the scheming farm boy who has been responsible for constantly screwing over Cameron's life and eliminating several of his friends. Cameron would form three separate alliances to have Scott eliminated and eventually succeed. Notably, he is the only one in the ROTI cast to remain as Scott's enemy in ''All-Stars'' even after Scott mellowed out and became nicer to everyone else.
** To Jo. Throughout ''Revenge of the Island'', this BullyAndWimpPairing would swing back and forth from Jo endlessly tormenting Cameron, to occasionally showing begrudging respect. But eventually, karma strikes and Cameron had enough of Jo's abuse and orchestrating the jockette's elimination.
* ArcHero: He and Zoey are this in ''Revenge of the Island'', they spend most of the season being protected by Mike but after Scott gets him eliminated it's left up to the two of them to take him down. However in doing so they inadvertently cause Lightning to make a FaceHeelTurn and [[FromBadToWorse he then gets Zoey eliminated]] forcing him to face him alone in the finale.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: Cameron spends a good deal of time making estimations and calculations that give him the edge, though sometimes he should spend more time paying attention to what he's doing.
* BackstabbingTheAlphaBitch: Although Jo isn't strictly speaking an AlphaBitch, the way she mistreats Cameron (and Brick), as well as the fact that she is the second most villainous character in the season (aside from Scott), definitely qualifies her for this trope with Cameron. Fed up with being her nerdy underling, he finally turns on her and not only succeeds in getting back at her but also gets her eliminated. [[VillainRespect She's actually impressed by this]].
* BadassBookworm: Downplayed. Usually, he's stereotypically weak like any nerd but occasionally shows [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass hidden competence]]. The best example in the ''Revenge of the Island'' finale where he makes a PoweredArmor and [[DavidVsGoliath takes on the physically stronger Lightning]].
* BespectacledCutie: Male example. He's small, socially awkward and wears glasses.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: In an episode of All-Stars, he is stuck on a raft with no motor alongside Zoey, Duncan and Scott, while all the other competitors have motors in their boats. What's his solution? Using Scott as bait for Fang in order to use Fang as their makeshift propeller.
* BigBrotherMentor: Is both this to Mike, as well as Mike being one to him. Throughout late ''Revenge of the Island'', Cameron would often try to help Mike keep his MPD under control, and advise him to tell Zoey about it. Mike in turn would give guidance to the [[NoSocialSkills socially sheltered]] Cameron such as telling him he need not spray so much paint in "Grand Chef Auto", as well as carrying him in "A Mine Is A Terrible Thing To Waste".
* BigNo: When Sierra starts turning her attention onto him, and when Mal reveals himself.
* BlackAndNerdy: He's basically the black version of Harold, but shorter.
* BlindWithoutEm: Cameron has poor eyesight without his glasses, as seen in "Moon Madness".
* BookSmart: While Cameron is one of the most sheltered teens in the show, he's an extremely intelligent and studious {{Bookworm}} who often uses his analytical mind and encyclopedic knowledge as a beneficial need to win challenges.
* BorrowedCatchphrase: After he finds the votes for him under Mike's/Mal's mattress.
-->'''Mal:''' ''(pretending to be Mike)'' Pal, you know you can trust me!
-->'''Cameron:''' No! I can't trust anyone! I'm the lone wolf! I'm the new Lightning! Sha-something! ''(runs off)''
* BrainsAndBrawn: Serves as the brains to contrast Lightning and Jo's [[TheBigGuy brawn]].
* BullyAndWimpPairing: With Jo and also to an extent with Lightning. Which mirrors the pairing between Duncan and Harold.
* BubbleBoy: Raised like one. He also leaves in a bubble when he is eliminated in ''All-Stars''.
* ButtMonkey: Not abusing the sheltered bubble boy is like not kicking a kickball, and just as Harold's designated source of pain was groin injuries, Cam's usual designated mode of injury is wedges.
-->'''Cameron''': Is this what pain tastes like!?
* CatchPhrase:
** "Astounding!"
** "... the odds are astronomical!"
** "This is highly (''adjective relevant to situation'')."
* CannotKeepASecret: Cameron's inability to keep a secret first comes up when he accidentally reveals that he wore a diaper until the age of 11. It becomes a plot point around the time of the merge when Scott with minimal effort not only gets Cameron to reveal Mike's [=MID=] but also some of how to provoke it.
* ClassicalAntihero: As part of his CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass, he transitioned from a weak and cowardly nerd into a selfless hero who stood up to and prevailed against all of the jerks who picked on him.
* ChekhovsGun: His bubble which, during the ''All-Stars'' finale, aids Zoey during the challenge by serving as a improvised raft for her and Gwen.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: To Owen, in regards to both being the unexpected underdog who became a finalist of their debut seasons. While both are {{Nice Guy}}s and {{All Loving Hero}}es, the similarities end there. Owen is the BigFun party guy who is easygoing towards everyone, while Cameron is a ShrinkingViolet who has to be coaxed into social interaction. Owen is [[TheDitz dimwitted]] and overweight, while Cameron is, as already mentioned, an ImpossibleGenius with possibly the lightest body mass out of the entire cast. Owen didn't care in the slightest whether he won, while Cameron had something to prove in how far he made it. Owen went into the finale surrounded mostly by his friends (with the exception of Heather) and ended up having a friendship finale, while Cameron had to go up against three of his adversaries (Jo, Scott, and Lightning).
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Not as pronounced as Harold, but Cam has his moments.
** In "Finders Creepers" after the giant spider approaches, he gets an adrenaline rush and breaks out of the webs binding him, launches at the spider, punches it repetitively, before jumping on its back and knocking it off the wall (which frees his teammates).
** And who could forget how he made a high-tech suit of armor and pummeled JerkJock Lightning.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: In the finale, he cannot bring himself to watch his friends getting attacked by mutants and tries to help them, while having to fend off attacks from Lightning. Whether it costs him the victory or not depends on the ending.
* DavidVsGoliath: Cameron, the least physically strong character in ''Revenge of the Island'', ends up fighting against the much more physically strong JerkJock Lighting at the end of the season. Whether he wins or not depends on the ending featured.
* DitzyGenius: He's definitely book smart, but he doesn't have much in way of {{Street Smart}}s. It becomes more prevalent in ''All-Stars'' where his [[TookALevelInDumbass perceptual ability seems to have taken a hit]], as he doesn't catch on to the fact that Mike (the person he studied last season) has been taken over by Mal until it was too late.
* DorkKnight: As of "Brain Vs Brawn: The Ultimate Showdown", he is one of the most heroic characters in ''Total Drama'' history, having saved the entire cast from rampaging mutants. However, this still doesn't change the fact that he's one of the most cowardly characters in the entire series as well (his cowardice is second only to DJ's - no wonder Cam looks up to him!).
* DudeLooksLikeALady: A RunningGag throughout ''ROTI'' involves [[TheDitz Lightning]] constantly mistaking Cameron for a girl, despite Cameron not really looking or doing anything remotely feminine.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Series/FamilyMatters Steve Urkel]], both being black nerds with high-pitched voices.
* FlyingFirepower: While he dons his ComicBook/IronMan armor.
* {{Foil}}: To Lightning. Both are black male finalists who faced off against each other in their debut seasons and were determined to win but are otherwise polar opposites. Cameron is small and scrawny while Lightning is tall and muscular. Cameron is a very timid ImpossibleGenius and a NiceGuy who was willing to put aside the opportunity to defeat Lightning to instead rescue his fellow campers from rampaging mutants and then split the money with everyone after he won, while Lightning is an incredibly arrogant and stupid JerkJock who continued to focus on trying to defeat Cameron in the same situation and then kept all the money for himself in his ending. Cameron's determination to win was in order to prove how far he came, while Lightning's came from simply being obsessed with coming first at everything. Cameron has an overprotective mother who clearly cares a lot about her son, while Lightning's father barely pays any attention to his son, not even showing his face to him when given the opportunity to contact him.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[StalkerWithACrush Sierra]] used Cameron as a substitute for Cody throughout season five. Cameron is eliminated because he is put in a full-body cast, just like Cody. Also like Cody, he is the eighth camper eliminated in his respective season. In addition, both were unable to warn the rest of the cast about some kind of imposing trouble because of the bandages covering their mouths.
* GadgeteerGenius: In the ''Revenge of the Island'' finale, he built a working [[PoweredArmor power suit]]. According to his online bio, he tried to patent the armor but got beaten to it by [[ComicBook/IronMan a guy with a goatee]].
* GenreSavvy: He watched season 3 of ''Total Drama'' and saw everything that Cody went through with Sierra. When he realizes she is becoming too close to him and is slowly mistaking ''him'' for Cody he volunteers to spend the night at Boney Island to get away from her for a while, not wanting to be her next "victim".
* GentlemanAndAScholar: He possesses a huge amount of intelligence [[ChildProdigy at a young age]], and despite his life as a BubbleBoy, he seems to have displayed his manners to others quite capably, showing how he is considerate and respectful to them very well (except if they are his foes).
* HatesBeingTouched: Cameron states it's an old problem of his, ''especially'' when Sierra is concerned.
* IdiotBall: Gets hit by this in ''All-Stars'', see DitzyGenius above.
* IfMyCalculationsAreCorrect: Says something like this right before he does something awesome... or fails horribly.
* ImpossibleGenius: Cameron's intelligence is so high, he has managed to come up with inventions that are improbable even in-universe, like his [[ComicBook/IronMan high tech armor]].
* ImprobablyHighIQ: WordOfGod states he has an IQ of 170.
* InformedFlaw: States that he is "so bad at keeping secrets."
* InnocentProdigy: One of his defining characterizations in ''Revenge of the Island'', being incredibly smart but having no experience of the outside world whatsoever.
* InSeriesNickname: Has a fair few of these:
** Cam (by Zoey, Mike, and Gwen)
** Four Eyes (by Anne Maria and Courtney)
** BubbleBoy, Bubble Boy Brainiac (by Chris)
** Stringbean (by Jo)
** Short stuff, Doll (by Anne Maria)
** Bubbles (by Scott)
** [[TheSmartGuy Smart Guy]], Little Girl (by Lightning)
** Cody, Camody, Camcodykins, Camdy, Codycam, Cam-sierra-ody (by Sierra)
** Little Man (by Heather)
** Little One (by Alejandro)
** Spider food (by Izzy)
** Nerd Arms (by Mal)
* IWantMyMommy: He cries for his bubble as he is [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown mercilessly beaten down]] by a giant mutant beetle in "Ice, Ice Baby".
* JerkassBall: Gets hit by this in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me", where out-of-the-blue he decides to use Scott as literal shark bait. Even Cameron is shocked by his villainous behavior.
* LadiesAndGerms: When Chris refers to the males, he likes to single Cameron out from the rest.
--> '''Chris:''' From now on it's every man, woman, and Cameron for himself.
* TheLoad: Played with; however, Cameron has [[DownplayedTrope managed to pull his load on one more than one occasion]].
** Jo originally views him as such, literally calling him "the most expendable player", but he promises her that he would prove her wrong, and [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass he delivers on his promise]].
** When he teams up with Zoey in "The Enchanted Franken-Forest", Zoey expresses exasperation at how many times she has to rescue Cameron from the various creatures and traps inhabiting the forest.
* LooseLips: Couldn't keep Mike's disorder a secret to save his life, accidentally telling not only one, but ''two'' people about it.
* LovableCoward: He has shown to be quite timid frequently, but is still a trustworthy companion, nonetheless.
* LovableNerd: He is a young genius with a very friendly personality.
* MirrorCharacter: To Cody and Harold, his predecessor nerds. Both Cody and Harold were characterized as being dorks who tried to be cool and seek attention, while Cameron is a ShrinkingViolet who remains shy and timid through most of his appearances but later [[CharacterDevelopment grows out of it over the course of the season]]. Both Cody and Harold possess [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass unexpected physical resourcefulness to their teams]], while Cameron is [[TheLoad almost always useless in physical challenges]]. There are also differences in intellect, with Cody and Harold being more circumstantially smart by displaying MacGyvering abilities, while Cameron is an ImpossibleGenius able to construct futuristic tech like PoweredArmor and rocket engines. Finally, Cameron has never chased/pursued any girls, which was a major character arc for both Cody and Harold.
* MyBelovedSmother: One reason he is a BubbleBoy is that growing up his mother was really overprotective of him.
* NervousWreck: Because of his laundry list of phobias, Cameron is one of the most neurotic characters in the whole series.
* NiceGuy: In the Canadian and the iTunes versions where he wins, he shares the $1 million cash prize with the entire cast. '''Even enemies like Lightning and Scott'''.
* OhCrap:
** His reaction in "The Enchanted Franken-Forest" when he realizes that Lightning eliminated Zoey instead of him just so the jock could have his vengeance on him.
** There are also a few in ''All-Stars''; Such as in "Suckers Punched", when Chris announces the challenge is boxing:
---> '''Cameron''': ''(writing a note)'' This is the last will of I, Cameron Corduroy Wilkins.
** But the biggest one yet occurs in "Zeek and Ye Shall Find", where he realizes who has really been screwing him over all this time, see JustBetweenYouAndMe in Mike's Personalities' Section.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Despite being 16, he looks like a pre-teen, most likely a side effect of being a bubble boy.
* TheOnlyOneITrust: In ''All-Stars'', Cameron starts to feel like the whole competition is against him, but he finds comfort in his only trustworthy friend, Mike. Which is a bad idea since Mike has been completely overpowered by his evil persona, Mal.
* PatheticallyWeak: He is shown to be physically weak to the point of parody, although inconsistently. For example, he struggles to keep his balance when a monarch butterfly lands on his head twice.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Usually subverted, but after donning his high-tech armor he easily overpowers the athletically superior Lightning.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Cameron is this with Zoey. Their friendship is a focal point in ''Revenge Of The Island'', especially near the end where their friendship becomes the most focused relationship of that season. That said, the two never display any romantic interests towards each other with Mike serving as Zoey’s LoveInterest while Cameron is a ShipperOnDeck for both of them.
* PoweredArmor: His ComicBook/IronMan armor he made in the finale.
* RedIsHeroic: Wears a red pullover hoodie and is a smart, good-natured person.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Lightning's red.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Sierra starts to see him as one for Cody.
* {{Revenge}}: He [[spoiler:got Jo back in "Up, Up, and Away in My Pitiful Balloon." After she has been taking advantage of his tech-savvy and strong-arming him into an "alliance", Cameron rigs the fog machine that he won to explode when Jo uses it, setting fire to the balloon he made for her and literally dropping her from the competition]].
* RoarBeforeBeating: Gives one before he does a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown to spider Izzy in "Finders Creepers".
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Has a habit of using overly-long complex words that confound the less intelligent characters, especially Lightning.
* ScienceHero: He frequently harnesses science and technology to get ahead in the competition. In fact, he's one of the few characters who can rightfully claim that his intellect more than makes up for what he physically lacks.
* SecretSecretKeeper: In the episode "Ice, Ice Baby", he figures out that Mike has multiple personality disorder. Later, in "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste", Cameron agrees to help Mike with his condition after forming an alliance to take down Scott. Unfortunately, Cam CannotKeepASecret, as Scott [[YouJustToldMe learns about Mike's disorder]] and [[{{Blackmail}} exploits it to make Mike do his bidding]] in "Grand Chef Auto", ultimately causing Mike's elimination.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: He is the shortest and one of the most book-smart contestants in the series.
* TheSmartGuy: For both the Mutant Maggots and the Heroic Hamsters. In fact, Lightning literally refers to him by this name.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: One of the smartest characters, to be exact.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: He was the central focus in ''Revenge of the Island'' and still remained in the limelight for a substantial amount of time in ''All-Stars''. His PowerTrio with Mike and Zoey, both individually and in their relationship, further exacerbates Cameron's Spotlight Stealing status.
* StillSucksThumb: Cameron accidentally reveals that he wore diapers up until he was eleven years old in "[[Recap/TotalDramaTruthOrLaserShark Truth or Laser Shark]]". Jo further teases him by asking if he wants his bottle, to which Cameron responds with confident anger. Yet in the confessional, he holds himself in a TroubledFetalPosition while he sucks his thumb and distraughtly asks himself why he couldn't keep his mouth shut.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute:
** He seems to be a blend of Harold's wealth of knowledge and unexpected resourcefulness to his team, and Cody's physical stature. There's even an in-universe example as Sierra literally uses him as a substitute for Cody during season five. Also, his relationship with Jo and Scott is comparable to that of his predecessors' relationship with Duncan (the resident nerd [[BullyAndWimpPairing picked on by]] TheBully) and Alejandro (the weak nerd and the manipulative season antagonist). To make it even better, he's been given the nicknames "String Bean" and "Short Stuff" which are names that Harold and Cody have been referred to by Leshawna.
** He could also be a DistaffCounterpart of Beth, as he shares some similarities with her in terms of physical appearance and events occurring in the show: Both had quite a sheltered childhood, both are socially challenged, both are exceptionally nice, both are the shortest contestants in their respective casts, both wear glasses, both were potential season winners paired up with a tougher contestant, both kissed someone who was close to ending their relationship, and both were used by a manipulative female villain but later stood up for themselves and backstabbed them (see BackstabbingTheAlphaBitch above).
* TemporarilyAVillain: He believed he had become one in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me".
* TinySchoolboy: Cameron is the shortest male not only among the second-generation cast but across all three cast generations. Being raised as a BubbleBoy likely stunted his growth.
* TookALevelInBadass: In the episode "Finders Creepers", he confesses to having arachnophobia, and the tiniest spiders frighten him. Later, when he and various other players are trapped in a web by a giant spider, he breaks out of his web cocoon in a surge of adrenaline and beats the crap out of the giant spider. [[GoneHorriblyWrong It cures him of his arachnophobia, but it turns out it was actually Izzy in disguise, and now he is afraid of her]].
* TookALevelInDumbass: In ''Revenge of the Island'', Cameron managed to realize Mike has split personalities (as well as each personalities' triggers) by mere observation. In ''All-Stars'', he was completely unable to realize Mal took over Mike until he was eliminated.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Becomes a second one for the [[BigBadEnsemble Villainous Vultures]]
* TVGenius: He's an ImpossibleGenius with an ImpossiblyHighIQ and capable of constructing futuristic tech from scrap. He has NoSocialSkills due to living a sheltered life, has unusual interests which include being prone to FreakyIsCool, and he has the tenacity to talk in SesquipedalianLoquaciousness.
* UnexplainedRecovery: He goes from a full body cast to just a broken arm in the span of roughly ''four days''.
* UninhibitedMusclePower: In his audition tape and in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!", he falls over from the weight of a ''butterfly'' landing on his head, and in "Ice, Ice Baby", he claims that his clothes are weighing him down, preventing him from climbing a rock face. But in "Finders Creepers", he is strong enough to break out of the cocoon he was trapped in and defeat the giant spider with a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown.
--> '''Cameron''': Ah, adrenaline. Nature's own SuperStrength formula. Someone really should bottle the stuff.
* VictoriousLoser: Even though he loses to Lightning in one of the endings of the ''Revenge of the Island'' finale, he says that not going back in his bubble after surviving without sustaining injuries counts as a personal win.
* WeakButSkilled: His intelligence makes up for his weak stature.
* WhatTheHellHero: Uses someone with an extreme phobia of sharks (Scott) as shark bait. Even Cameron ''himself'' is surprised by his own actions.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He was afraid of spiders; however, he overcomes his phobia (see TookALevelInBadass) above. However, after discovering the spider's true identity, he gains a new phobia: Izzy.
* WorthyOpponent: Jo is initially furious when Cameron backstabs her, but when he tells her he "learned from the best" (referring to her), she cuts him some slack and compliments his cunning tactic.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: He manages to pull one on ''Jo''.

Harsh, merciless, and domineering, Jo is a strong and athletic tomboy who will do anything to take down the competition. Her blunt attitude gives her a very low tolerance for weaklings, while her brutal approach to life gives her a cutthroat streak focused on winning above all else.
----
* ActionGirl: That should really go without saying.
* AlphaBitch: A '''MUCH''' more direct example when compared to Anne Maria, even if it's downplayed (since Jo herself has very limited feminine interests).
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: She assumed leadership of the Maggots by defeating Brick in a thumb wrestling match (breaking his thumb in the process).
* TheBaroness: Jo is of the Rosa Klebb subtype due to her rather masculine appearance.
* BatmanGambit: She relies on these to get ahead.
** In "Ice Ice Baby", she exploits Anne Maria's short temper about her appearance to make her participate in the challenge by insulting her or taking away her hairspray.
** She often exploits Brick's military background and his sense of chivalry.
** When she switches teams, she often exploits Lightning's competitive spirit.
** In "Up, Up And Away In My Pitiful Balloon", she ironically falls victim to one when Cameron rigs the fog machine he won with an explosive, knowing that Jo would scam it from him.
* BigBadWannabe: She tries to be the BigBad of ''Revenge of the Island'', manipulating others and forming alliances, but gets [[LesserOfTwoEvils overshadowed by]] Scott.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The blonde (''dirty'' blonde, to be exact) to Anne Maria's brunette and Zoey's redhead.
* BoyishShortHair: Has short dirty blonde hair.
* BrawnHilda: {{Downplayed|trope}}. She's not ugly, but she's quite plain looking and she evidently looks so masculine that Lightning can't tell she's female. PlayedForLaughs; since it's highly obvious to the audience she's female. She does actually sound rather masculine, though.
* TheBully: A JerkJock and BigBadWannabe with a toxic tongue who enjoys tormenting others, especially Cameron and Brick.
* BullyAndWimpPairing:
** Physically, she is the Bully to Cameron's Wimp.
** Psychologically, she is the Bully to Brick's Wimp.
* CardCarryingJerkass: Jo makes absolutely no effort to hide the fact that she's aggressive and abrasive.
* CardCarryingVillain: In her audition tape, she states that one of the reasons for her to join ''Total Drama'' is that she's "the meanest" person the franchise's in-universe producers will ever meet. However, her major villainy within ''Revenge of the Island'' is rivaled with Scott's.
* CombatDiplomacyStealth: In terms of strategies, Jo is the Diplomacy, being the only member of ''Revenge of the Islands'' BigBadEnsemble who still forms alliances and acts as TheLeader to her initial team, to Lightning's Combat and Scott's Stealth.
* CompetitionFreak: Much like Courtney, Jo is very aggressive, obsessed with winning competitions and is willing to play dirty in order to be victorious.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: {{Subverted|Trope}}. As the season's primary {{Foil}} to [[VilerNewVillain Scott]], she follows most of the same tropes as all off the villains from the franchise's first generation.
* ControlFreak: Jo is very domineering and loves to gain authority over her teammates.
* CosmeticCatastrophe: She gets a [[Film/TheDarkKnight Joker-esque]] makeover no thanks to Chester in "Runaway Model".
* DarkIsEvil: Her normal attire consists of a dark grey hoodie, and she doesn't try to hide the fact that she's one of the franchise's meanest contestants. The same thing can be said when she's in her swimsuit, which is also in dark grey.
* DevilInPlainSight: She's basically like the female version of Scott in her own season of origin in terms of moral alignment, only that Scott himself has [[HeelFaceTurn a sudden change of heart]] unlike her.
* DudeWheresMyReward: She was annoyed after Lightning refuses to share any of the money with her and everyone else in the alternate ending of the finale of the season, as she complains that she got ripped off in the confessional.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Shows shades of this where she mentions trying to whip her team into shape, where the scene cuts to Cameron attempting (and failing) to perform a push-up.
* EntitledBitch: Her audition tape and Lightning's ending show just how arrogant she can be.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As much of a bitch she can be, even she thought that Chris was going too far with the bombs in "A Mine Is A Terrible Thing To Waste".
-->'''Jo:''' ''(upon discovering the bombs in the backpacks)'' [[OhCrap BOMBS]]?! Too far, [=McLean=]! Too far!
* EvilIsBigger: She was the tallest of the second-generation female contestants, [[spoiler:up until [[GentleGiant Dakota's radioactive mutation]]]].
* {{Expy}}: Of Sue Sylvester from Series/{{Glee}}.
* FatalFlaw: While Jo was a very capable competitor on the island, her biggest flaw was easily her lack of foresight, which culminated in her elimination both times. [[spoiler: The first time, she clearly didn't expect Cameron to betray her when she had been mistreating him all season, and the second time in All-Stars, she manages to eliminate Lightning in the belief that he was her biggest threat, only to forget that not only was Lightning the closest person she had to an ally. That of course resulted in Jo gradually having the rest of the team turn on her, and be eliminated not long after.]]
* {{Foil}}:
** To Duncan, taking his place as TheBully type character of her generation and the LesserOfTwoEvils. Both bullies had favored targets, with Duncan picking on Harold, while Jo would torment Cameron and Brick. Both have also had their respective nerds [[{{Revenge}} eventually get revenge upon them]] and [[WorthyOpponent win over their respect]]. However, the differences become apparent when Duncan is revealed to be a JerkWithAHeartOfGold who uses the tough guy visage to hide a softer side, while Jo tends to be FauxAffablyEvil to manipulate others and is for the most part rotten on the inside. Furthermore, Duncan legitimately makes quite a few friends, while Jo drove away virtually all her allies with her vileness. Finally, Duncan is known for being very laidback with a "who cares" attitude, while one of Jo's defining characteristics is a competitive drive to be the best at everything.
** To Heather. In many ways, Jo is a more athletic version of her. The two of them immediately establish themselves as the BadBoss of their respective teams and intimidate others into going along with their demands as well as not above playing dirty. Both also force more weak-willed contestants into alliances with them (Beth and Lindsay for Heather, Cameron for Jo), with said underlings eventually being [[{{Revenge}} directly responsible for their elimination]]. The difference is Jo is a threat both physically and psychologically and is very active in challenges, while Heather prefers to limit her contribution and manipulate her teammates into doing the heavy lifting for her. This is particularly evident when the two are put on the same team in ''All-Stars'' and spend several episodes butting heads over leadership.
** To Scott, in a more direct example. Both are the {{Token Evil Teammate}}s of their respective teams but have completely opposite approaches to their antagonism. Jo plays DrillSergeantNasty and pushes her team through the wringer to get them to perform at their best while feeling the weaker members are expendable. Scott is a TeamKiller who tries to make his team lose so that he can vote off strong players that he deems to be threats. Jo typically intimidates and bullies others into complying, while at times switching to FauxAffablyEvil or having a rare PetTheDog. Scott is a ManipulativeBastard who primarily plays the BigBadFriend, while rarely being open about his true rotten nature such as when he blackmails Mike or extorts Cameron for information.
* GenderBlenderName: Her name sounds like "Joe". Possibly one of the reasons Lightning is confused about her gender, although it doesn't take much with [[DumbJock Lightning]].
* GeniusBruiser: Unlike most of the other jocks on the show, Jo is very cunning and manipulative, and could have easily been the season's BigBad if Scott wasn't there.
* GracefulLoser: Zig-zagged. She has to be dragged away screaming, but she lets being betrayed by Cameron pass when he tells her he "learned from the best" (her) and congratulates him on his technique.
* HatedByAll: Because of her hostile behavior all throughout her appearance, almost no one fully likes, or even trusts her.
* HiddenDepths: Jo has body issues and quietly sympathizes with Sasquatchanakwa when Lindsay says he has it.
* InformedAttribute: Her supposed ugliness (when she works out in the nude it makes a bird vomit).
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: She's a JerkJock who openly antagonizes Cameron, Brick, Anne Maria, and Lightning. Every time she seems to show a nicer side, it's also revealed to be an act to manipulate others.
* LackOfEmpathy: It's evident that even if her villainous role has been reduced in ''All-Stars'', she still shows '''no signs''' of changing herself for the better (at least Scott softened himself up in that same season).
* LadyLooksLikeADude: This is even lampshaded by Lightning. [[DumbJock Although he might not be the best judge on appearance]].
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** In the episode [[spoiler:where she's eliminated]] in ''Revenge of the Island'', she treats Cameron like complete garbage. Conveniently, guess who sends her right out, instead of Scott? She even admitted he was a WorthyOpponent after that.
** In ''All-Stars'', she conspires to get rid of Lightning first since she considered him [[TheRival her biggest threat]] on her team. When her team loses the subsequent competition, she regrets getting Lightning eliminated and [[spoiler:she herself gets eliminated next]].
--->'''Lightning:''' ''[in a pre-recorded video message]'' [[IWarnedYou I told you you'd regret it!]] Ha! I win! Sha-woo!
* TheLeader: Of the Mutant Maggots, where she's a typical case of a BadBoss. She tries to be this for the Villainous Vultures but doesn't last very long before she's booted.
* LesserOfTwoEvils: When put alongside Scott, though she's still arguably the secondary antagonist of ''Revenge of the Island''. That said, it's only because she's less effective than him, not because she's less evil. Quite the opposite, in fact.
* ManipulativeBitch: She often forces Cameron (and to lesser extents, Brick and Lightning) to bend to her will.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The Masculine Girl to Brick's Feminine Boy. Both are depicted as tough; however, Brick has a more sensitive side, whereas Jo is more aggressive.
* MirrorCharacter: Of Eva. Jo takes the general premise of Eva's character (brawn and a serious attitude) and builds a much more complex and hyper-competent competitor.
* MistakenForGay: When she said she never kissed a guy, Lightning, thinking Jo was a boy, replied:
-->'''Lightning:''' It's cool. Lightning don't judge.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: She's more openly hostile than '''''every single one''''' of the male contestants from the second generation, including Scott (and not counting Mike's split personalities).
* NeverMyFault: "What!? Dirt Boy got in the way!"
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: The JerkJock Mean to Zoey's Nice and Anne Maria's In-between.
* TheNicknamer:
** She has called Brick "G. I. Joke" and "Brick-for-brains", Mike "Pointy" and "Strong Man" (as Vito), Zoey "Red" and "Apology Breath", Cameron "String Bean", Scott "Freckle Face", Sam "Couch Potato", and has several names for Anne Maria including "Poofhead", "Sprayhead", "Tan job" and "Helmethead". In Cameron's case, it later becomes an InsultOfEndearment, as he refers to himself as such so she can recognize him.
** She goes even further in ''All-Stars'' and gives names to all of her team members at once: Heather "Old Heather", Gwen "Gothball" and "Count Gwenula", Duncan "Crudcan" and "Stuncan", Scott "Shark-bait and "Dirt Boy", Alejandro "Ale-handwalker".
* NightmareFetishist: Look at the way she strokes the cannon.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: During the mine challenge, she confesses that she never kissed a guy.
* PassionateSportsGirl: She's very open about being a tomboy.
* PetTheDog: While scarce, Jo does occassionally show genuine sincerity towards her favorite bully target, Cameron.
** In "Finders Creepers", Jo gives an offhand compliment to Cameron for avoiding capture longer than almost everyone on their team. Cameron takes it since its the nicest thing Jo has ever said to him.
** In "Up, Up, and Away in My Pitiful Balloon", Jo meets her end after a execessively abused and fed-up Cameron [[TheDogBitesBack finally gives it back to her]]. While Jo is initially angered at being betrayed, Cameron's explanation that he learned from her example genuinely impresses her. As she is dragged off for elimination, Jo gives him a thumbs up to show she really is proud of her little wimp.
** In Cameron's ending, when he says that he doesn't feel the need to go back to his bubble, Jo sincerely praises him.
* PleasePutSomeClothesOn: A little birdie vomits when it sees Jo's nude workout session in "A Mine Is a Terrible Thing to Waste".
* PragmaticVillainy: She runs a tight shift as the Maggots' leader, makes it perfectly clear she's tough, mean, and in it to win, and can be quite critical. However, she's not above praising her teammates when they win a challenge.
* RealMenEatMeat: In "Evil Dread", her luxury breakfast of choice is four to five slabs of steak. She doesn't even use a knife to cut it; it goes straight on her fork and supposedly she eats from there.
* TheRival: To Brick in ''Revenge of the Island'', Heather in ''All-Stars'', and Lightning in both seasons.
* SamusIsAGirl: Lightning thinks she's a boy due to her masculine appearance and attitude, her ActionGirl tactics, and her TomboyishName, so he acts appropriately when he finally finds out when Jo is eliminated.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: To the Toxic Rats after switching teams.
* SmugSnake: She was so confident that Cameron would do whatever she said, that she never expected to be OutGambitted by him.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Although not to the same extent as Cameron, Mike, Scott, and Zoey, Jo gets focused on a good bit due to her rivalries with Brick, Lightning, and Cameron. However, she is the third camper ousted in ''All Stars''.
* SoProudOfYou: Has two of these with Cameron, her favorite victim, projectile, and pupil.
** In "Finders Creepers", after initially treating Cameron like trash how she usually does and expecting he would get captured first by the spider, she finds out Cameron actually lasted among the longest on the team. She [[PetTheDog tells him with sincerity that he did better than she thought he would]]. Cameron is all too happy to accept this rare compliment from Jo.
** In "Up, Up, and Away In My Pitiful Balloon", after Jo forces Cameron into an alliance with her and spends the whole episode forcing him to do everything for her, Cameron gets fed up and sabotages Jo's plane and costs her immunity. When Jo gets eliminated and mad at Cameron's betrayal, Cameron promptly tells her he learned from her. To which Jo takes this in her stride, genuinely proud of how far her little wimp has come and even gives him a thumbs up while she is eliminated.
* {{Sociopath}}: For someone who calls herself "the meanest" in her audition tape, she is, by default, rather hateful towards others, ranging from her authoritarian leadership to her skills in manipulating them, which also makes her '''''much''''' ''more monstrous'' than [[spoiler:the Dakotazoid]] ever was.
* TokenEvilTeammate:
** She's the most hostile member of the Mutant Maggots, and later the Toxic Rats (at least before Lightning was descended into villainy, mainly in front of Cameron).
** '''A looser example:''' In the case of all of the female contestants who were originally from the second generation, she's the only one who's ''genuinely'' malevolent among them (both Anne Maria and Dakota were more portrayed as [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold being vain on the surface, but nice underneath]], while Staci is just simply more morally neutral, despite being well-intentioned).
* {{Tomboy}}: She dislikes anything even ''remotely'' girly. [[HiddenDepths Or so she says...]]
* TomboyishName: One reason for Lightning believing that she is a guy.
* UnexplainedRecovery: Though she ends up being attacked by Egyptian scarabs after being eliminated in ''All-Stars'' for mocking them in Egypt's sewers with the implication that no one heard her or came to her rescue, Jo's silhouette is seen among the balloons in the season finale, implying that at the very least, Jo survived if not completely unscathed. [[UncertainDoom Though maybe not for long...]]
* WrongGenreSavvy: Tells Brick to ignore his "no man left behind" instinct when she and the other Maggots are caught by the "spider" and finish the challenge in "Finders Creepers", figuring him making it to the end first will win the challenge. He does make it first before the Rats' Sam and Scott, but it turns out that the team with the most members at the end wins it.
* VillainRespect: She's actually impressed when Cameron manages to eliminate her.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Her boyish appearance makes her look older than most teen girls.

* AlternateIdentityAmnesia: Whenever one of his personalities takes over, he cannot remember what happened during that time.
* AlternatePersonalityPunishment: Mike is always the one to take the blame whenever one of his personalities messes things up.
* AmbiguousSituation: Real life Dissociative Identity Disorder manifests from trauma experienced as a child, where a SplitPersonality or an "alter" is created as a defense mechanism to protect the original persona. While it is never fully elaborated on, it is implied that Mike may have had a DarkAndTroubledPast, with Duncan revealing that Mike / Mal had served time in a juvenile detention center.
* AmnesiacsAreInnocent: He has no memory of whatever he does, good or bad when one of his personalities is in control.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: His skin is quite dark, but Vito referring to it as his "tanned body" means he might be a deeply tanned Caucasian, like Katie. WordOfGod confirms he’s Italian.
* AnimeHair: It's almost as long as his head.
* ArchEnemy: To Mal.
* ArcHero: Near the end of ''Revenge of the Island'' he becomes the main target for Scott's abuse, setting him up as this. Then it gets {{Subverted|Trope}} because the moment he finally stands up to Scott he gets him eliminated. It's then Played Straight in ''All-Stars'' as he spends the season trapped in his own subconscious by [[SplitPersonalityTakeover Mal]] and [[TheHerosJourney goes on a journey]] to save his other personalities, confront Mal and take back control.
* BarrierWarrior: He projected a shield to knock Mal out before the latter faded away from existence.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Even a nice guy like Mike has his limits, especially if Zoey is involved.
* BeYourself: Ultimately learns this when he reveals his MPD to Zoey, and she accepts him for who he is.
* BigNo: Gets one when Mal takes over.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He and his girlfriend Zoey share a common background of loneliness; in his case, for his disorder. The two of them also have similar tastes in movies and food.
* ButtMonkey: He becomes this for Scott in "Grand Chef Auto", where he gets the worst treatment there.
* CharacterTic: Taking a deep breath and [[FishEyes bulging out his eyes]] as one of his personalities takes control.
* CharacterDevelopment: When he's first introduced, Mike has zero control over his disorder, and is so ashamed of it that he refuses to tell anyone the truth. By the time ''All-Stars'' starts, he and his personalities have learned to work together as a team and isn't even hesitant to announce when he plans on switching.
* ChildishToothGap: Has one, which highlights his cheerful and friendly attitude and how his multiple personalities make him quite shy and secretive around others most of the time.
* ClarkKentOutfit: Mike's shirt does a good job hiding his ripped physique, making him look scrawnier than he actually is.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Notably {{Averted|Trope}}. Not only is it made clear Mike is not crazy for having multiple personalities, but calling him such is insulting. Mike himself acts somewhat down-to-earth and [[IJustWantToBeNormal just wants to be treated like everyone else]].
* CursedWithAwesome: His disorder brings many social issues plus he's not in control of his own actions most of the time, and he doesn't always remember what he did when another personality was in control (in fact, he usually only finds out because of other people telling him or by some personal guessing and deduction). On the bright side, he gains some cool and useful abilities from his alternative personalities, like Svetlana's athleticism, Vito's toughness, Manitoba's wilderness skills, and Chester's... rambling about his youth? Also, it's possible that he inherited some skills from Mal, although it's yet to be confirmed.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Mike has been to juvie thanks to Mal, showing just how serious a problem Mal has been for him. Even without Mal, it can be assumed given that in real life Dissociate Identity Disorder is a coping mechanism for severe a traumatic experience.
* DeathOfPersonality: Happens for real in "The Final Wreck-ening", with his main personalities all willingly sacrificing themselves to reset Mike's mind, thus clearing Mal out of it, giving Mike control back, and [[SplitPersonalityMerge integrating all of them (except Mal) into Mike]].
* DecoyProtagonist: His multiple personalities, him being the main focus of his team, him having a close friendship with the other Decoy Protagonist Zoey. Sounds like he’s a finalist of ''Revenge of the Island'', right? Thanks to Scott that’s not the case. Subverted in All Stars where he is the main protagonist of the season alongside Zoey and a finalist.
* DemotedToExtra: Downplayed in ''All Stars'' after episode six. Mal takes control over his body full-time, but he does it under the guise of Mike. As such, Mike is still mentioned extremely often, and an impersonation of him appears in every episode. The real Mike, however, goes from being one of the most prominent characters to only being featured in one or two scenes each episode.
* DeusExitMachina: He gets eliminated immediately before Lightning takes over as the BigBad of the season, presumably because they were both TheBigGuy of their teams and him being there would make Lightning less of a threat. In All-Stars [[SwappedRoles this is reversed]].
* DisabilitySuperpower: His personalities occasionally help in the challenges. [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] with the fact that they still cause many social problems for Mike.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: Depending on the ending, he wins ''All-Stars'' after spending most of it trapped in his own head by Mal. He's now got the million dollars and Zoey and is free of his MPD but retains all the skills of his other personalities, including Svetlana's athleticism, Vito's toughness, and Manitoba's wilderness survival skills.
* EnemyWithin: Mal.
* FightingFromTheInside: Anytime his alternate personalities take over, though he later learns to control them. Until Mal shows up and imprisons him in his own mind, where he then ends up struggling for control from within.
* FishEyes: He'd always get them right before one of his multiple personalities activates.
* {{Foil}}: To Mal. His cheery, sensitive and friendly attitude is a stark contrast to Mal's cold-hearted, snarky and ruthless nature.
* FunnySchizophrenia: Downplayed. The wild antics and eccentric behavior of Mike's alternate personalities is mainly PlayedForLaughs, but the audience is simultaneously intended to sympathize with Mike's struggles. It's made clear that Mike himself is not crazy, and his relationship with Zoey is one of the main focal points of both seasons.
* GeekPhysiques: Subverted. Although his character design is based on Harold, as [[WalkingShirtlessScene Vito]] he is shown with defined abs.
* TheGenericGuy: On his own, he doesn't have many personality traits beyond being a NiceGuy with a mental disorder.
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: When Mal has control, he has noticeable bags under his eyes.
* GoodHairEvilHair: When Mike is in control it sticks up; however, when Mal takes over, his hair goes HidingBehindYourBangs.
* GRatedMentalIllness: Mike's Multiple Personality Disorder, which, in real life, is now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder and is caused exclusively by severe early childhood trauma, has its symptoms incredibly exaggerated to make it more entertaining and understandable for kids.
* HairColorDissonance: His hair is usually black, but it has brownish tints.
* HesBack: The first thing Mike does after securing his body back from Mal is uppercut Fang and rescue Zoey in the process.
* HidingTheHandicap: For fear of being ridiculed, Mike tells everyone that his Multiple Personality Disorder is actually just overly dedicated method acting.
* HiddenDepths: Mal's existence in ''All-Stars''.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: At the end of the day, Mike is a normal teenage kid, and wants to be treated that way.
* InsecureLoveInterest: He's convinced that, if Zoey were to learn the truth about his disorder, she'd be too weirded out to want to be with him.
* IronicHell: While trapped in his own mind, he's chained to a rock, the same object that he'd just tried to get control of himself again with. This rock also has a noticeable resemblance to Mal's head.
%%* JekyllAndHyde: The Jekyll to Mal's Hyde.
* KeepingTheHandicap: Zigzagged. Mike initially refuses to get rid of his personalities. While he does go through with it, he only does so because it's necessary to stop Mal. Manitoba and Vito assure Mike that the button won't truly get rid of them and that they will always be a part of Mike in some way, which clearly comforts him. However, in TheStinger, Mike says that it's possible he won't even miss communicating with his alters, but that may be because of the SplitPersonalityMerge.
* {{Keet}}: In "A Mine Is a Terrible Thing to Waste", he becomes overly excited when Cameron offers to help him with his [[SplitPersonality condition]], even giving him a tight hug and vigorously thanking him.
* TheLancer: On the ''Heroic Hamsters'', he tends to be the most likely of taking authority after Zoey as TheLeader.
* TheLeader: Among his SplitPersonality System, as Mike is the Host, he is clearly the leader amongst them.
* LimitedWardrobe: Implied. His shirt is repeatedly torn apart to manifest Vito, yet Mike always has an identical spare to replace it with.
* LoveAtFirstSight; Fell head-over-heels for Zoey literally the second he laid eyes on her. Heck, his crush on her is established even before his disorder.
* LoveTriangle: He and Zoey both seem to like each other, but Anne Maria is attracted to his alternate personality Vito, who likes her back. Sort of like a [[TwoPersonLoveTriangle Three-Person Love Quadrilateral]], but involving a SplitPersonality instead of a SecretIdentity.
* TheMentallyDisturbed: Up until the ''All-Stars'' finale, he was this considering his disorder.
* MirrorCharacter:
** To Izzy, both have [[TheMentallyDisturbed mental problems]] [[DisabilitySuperpower that give them a bunch of special abilities.]] But Mike has a known real-world condition whereas Izzy's exact condition is unclear. Izzy is [[CloudCuckooLander 100% divorced from reality]] whereas Mike is usually portrayed as an OnlySaneMan. And Izzy gleefully embraces her own weirdness while Mike is shy, reserved and [[FreakinessShame embarrassed about people finding out about his condition.]]
** To Trent. Both characters are one of the more ordinary contestants of their generations, {{Nice Guy}}s with mental disorders (OCD for Trent and [[SplitPersonality Dissociative Identity Disorder]] for Mike) and were heavily involved in a romantic plot with a girl (Gwen and Zoey respectively). However, whereas Trent is a smooth, handsome and confident ChickMagnet, Mike is instead a [[NoodlePeople scrawny]], meek and awkward ShrinkingViolet who gets nervous easily (especially around Zoey). Likewise, Trent not only failed to win the money twice but he also DidNotGetTheGirl as well while Mike makes the merge twice, wins ''All-Stars'' and becomes an OfficialCouple with Zoey.
** To Cody. Both have crushes on a cute girl (Gwen and Zoey respectively), have [[NoodlePeople very thin frames]] and [[ChildishToothGap gaps between their teeth]] but the similarities end there. Cody is a DoggedNiceGuy to Gwen and can [[NerdsArePervs have some perverted tendencies at times]] while Mike is a shy, reserved and awkward OnlySaneMan who isn't seen or shown doing anything perverted to Zoey. Cody not only failed to get the money twice but he also [[DidNotGetTheGirl didn't hook up with Gwen.]] Mike makes the merge twice, wins ''All-Stars'' and hooks up with Zoey.
** To Harold. Both are tall, [[NoodlePeople skinny]], unimpressive-looking guys who the other players underestimate, but both have [[HiddenDepths a large collection of surprising skills]] that make them highly competent players. However, Mike's skills are all tied to his other personalities which makes him much more apprehensive about using them.
* NiceGuy: As his normal self, Mike is a cheerful, friendly and optimistic boy who does his best to make friends and get along with others despite his mental disorder.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Mike is so terrified of Mal that he resorts to bludgeoning himself on the head in an attempt to suppress him... which only results in locking ''Mike'' away, allowing Mal to have full control.
* NoodlePeople: Mike has incredibly thin limbs, but he does have a set of abs. If you look closely, Zoey's arms seem to be thicker than his. However, Vito, Manitoba, and Mal indicate he is actually quite strong.
* OneManArmy: He manages to defeat all of his personalities in his BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind, thanks to [[ThePowerOfLove Zoey's encouragement]].
* OnlySaneMan: Mike's the only personality that isn't an over-the-top caricature.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: With Zoey, even though she wears red instead of pink other than the flower in her hair.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: Mike could not have overcome Mal without the help of his other personas. It is through their friendship and sacrifice that Mike manages to regain control of himself for good.
* ThePowerOfLove:
** Mike's trigger for resuming control over his body is hearing Zoey in danger.
** It's what allowed him to defeat all his alternate personalities when they were beating him together.
** Zoey tries to endanger herself as a SecretTestOfCharacter to check if Mike is really Mike. Mike does indeed resurface, but only briefly, where Mal promptly takes back control.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: Mike needs to regain all of his personas after Mal seals them all away.
* RedOniBlueOni: Mike's regular self is the blue to his alternate personalities' red, with the possible exception of Chester, who's on both sides of the fence.
* ReluctantPsycho: Mike hates how often his disorder interferes with his life and is afraid of being perceived as weird or crazy.
* ReusedCharacterDesign: He's got Harold's body and head shape with the only differences being darker hair and skin as well as no glasses and being voiced by a different actor (i.e. Corey Doran)
* SanityStrengthening: In the ''All-Stars'' finale.
* SealedGoodInACan: As of "No Egg-spects The Spanish Opposition". Specifically invoked by Izzy who says he "''tasted'' toxic on the outside and sweet on the inside".
* SealedInAPersonShapedCan: Since he's trapped in his own mind.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Mike is both; among his personalities, his normal personality is the Sensitive Guy with Vito, Manitoba Smith and Mal as the Manly Men.
* ShipTease: With Zoey, which later upgrades to OfficialCouple.
* {{Sleepwalking}}: In Mike's sleep, his personalities can take control of him without a trigger. At one point Svetlana does a flip from the top bunk in their slumber.
* SplitPersonality: He suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder leading to an assortment of personalities taking over at various times.
* SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger: The way to bring Mike back after a switch is to either remove the trigger or [[ThePowerOfLove to hear Zoey in peril.]]
* SpotlightStealingSquad: His conflict with his split personalities, friendship with Cameron, and relationship with Zoey are focused on heavily in ''Revenge of the Island'' and ''All-Stars''.
* TalkingInYourSleep: His personalities can do this along with {{Sleepwalking}}. Mike tries to calm them down.
* TookALevelInBadass: During his journey inside his own mind, he goes from a rather gentle and lovable NiceGuy to a guy who's still really nice, but also willingly stands up to a horrible sociopath. Comes to a head in the finale, where he not only easily dismisses Mal, but gains all of his other personalities abilities and wins the million dollars.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Really, Mike does care for his alters. He just dislikes how often their wild antics get him into trouble.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He is afraid of the giant mutant gophers, as shown by his reaction in the Season 4 finale, and lampshaded by Cameron in "Suckers Punched".[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mike's Alternate Personalities]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000005796.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:L-R: [[{{Joisey}} Vito]], [[GrumpyOldMan Chester]], [[OnlySaneMan Mike]], [[AwesomeAussie Manitoba Smith]], [[PassionateSportsGirl Svetlana]] (not pictured: [[AxCrazy Mal]])]]

Mike's five alternate personalities, who vary greatly in characterization and behavior. They each have their own issues with Mike being in charge and will take control in specific situations. Their wild antics cause many social problems for Mike, which initially lead to them having a strained and dysfunctional relationship. When not in control of the body, they reside in the subconscious.

!!In General
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: Mike wages one against his other personalities in "Grand Chef Auto" and wins. He later has another one with Mal in "The Final Wreck-ening".
* ChewingTheScenery: Creator/CoryDoran makes it so that all of Mike's personalities are over-the-top in emotion.
* FiveManBand: Mike is TheLeader, who leads the others to oppose Mal. Manitoba is TheLancer, being the most likely to charge in Mike's absence and the one most likely to challenge Mike's decisions. Svetlana is TheHeart, being the [[TheSmurfettePrinciple token girl]] she is the most compassionate among the alters. Vito is TheBigGuy, being the DumbMuscle and the physcially strongest of the alters. Chester is TheSmartGuy due to mostly being the NonActionGuy who uses his experience from age to [[GrumpyOldMan complain and warn others]].
* JourneyToTheCentreOfTheMind: In ''All-Stars'', Mike is forced to travel through his own subconscious after Mal traps him there.
* LargeHam: As said before, Creator/CoryDoran acts Mike's personalities out to be very exaggerated and pretentious in their dialogue and emotion.
* SplitPersonality: He has several personalities that are each triggered by a certain event or situation.
** [[NiceGuy Normal Mike]]. Reverts back to this if Zoey is in danger or someone yells out his name.
** [[GrumpyOldMan Chester]]. Appears whenever Mike is frustrated about something.
** [[ActionGirl Svetlana]]. Appears whenever Mike is in an acrobatically-challenging situation, whenever someone gives her an introduction, mentions the Olympics, or gives her a pep talk.
** [[AwesomeAussie Manitoba Smith]]. Appears whenever Mike puts on a hat.
** [[{{Joisey}} Vito]]. Appears whenever Mike's chest is bare.
** [[TokenEvilTeammate Mal]], Mike's hidden ''sixth'' personality. Triggered after Scott got frightened by bees and accidentally hits Mike in the back of the head with his shovel in "Evil Dread". He renders all of Mike's other personalities useless.
* SplitPersonalityMakeover: Whenever he changes into one of his personalities, his appearance also changes.
* SplitPersonalityMerge: At the end of ''All-Stars'', all of Mike's personalities sans Mal, sacrifice themselves to break free of Mal's control, returning to Mike to give him all of their skills.
* SplitPersonalityTakeover: After Mike hits himself on the head with a boulder in an attempt to re-awaken his other personalities.
* SuperPoweredAlterEgo: All of the personalities grant Mike a special ability, especially [[SuperPoweredEvilSide Mal]].

!!Chester
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000005791.png]]
->''"Back in my day, we didn't need fancy saws and axes to cut rope. We did just fine with stone!"''

Chester is your stereotypical crabby old coot who complains about nearly everything, especially kids these days. He appears whenever Mike is frustrated. Chester's distinguishing traits are his hunched-back and scrunched face.
----
* BrutalHonesty: Chester has no filter in what he says and will complain about anything.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: In "You Regatta be Kidding Me" he's seen selling skateboards - a fitting punishment, given his hatred of young people and new things.
* GrumpyOldMan: Being an extremely old man and all, he's easily annoyed especially when it comes to complaining about the youth of today.
* HeroicSacrifice: Willingly surrenders his existence so that Mike can defeat Mal.
* TheLoad: Generally speaking, Chester is the least useful personality in the face of a challenge or emergency. Evident by him being the only active personality Mike doesn't allude to in his audition.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He always has a hunched back, giving him a shorter posture than the other personalities.
* MotorMouth: Justified, given his frail exterior that's all he'd got left.
* OlderAlterEgo: Despite being in Mike's teenage body, Chester is an old man likely in his 80s.
* PerpetualFrowner: Chester's default expression is a grumpy scowl.
* RedOniBlueOni: He's both.
** The red to Mike's blue.
** The blue to the other personalities' red.
* TheSmartGuy: His common sense is his main (and only) draw. As a result, he comes off mostly as a complainer.
* ScrewPolitenessImASenior: Chester's entire gimmick is that he's an old man who complains about everything.
* SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger: Mike getting frustrated. In the series, most of these moments were caused by worriment or physical pain.
* VitriolicBestBuds: While they all have a close bond, Chester's grumpiness makes him become easily fed up with the other personalities.

!!Svetlana
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000005792.png]]
->''"WRONG! Only one person can do this! SVETLANA! The Olympic queen of gymnastics!"''
Svetlana is an Olympic gymnast from Russia whose grace and agility is unmatched. She appears whenever Mike finds himself in a situation where he must be agile. [[TheSmurfettePrinciple Notable for being Mike's only female personality,]] her distinguishing traits are her thick eyelashes, lipstick, double pupils, and [[NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent supposedly Russian accent]].
----
* ActionGirl: She's the most athletic of Mike's personalities and the only one that's a girl.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: In "The Obsta-Kill Course" she's seen carving butter to make fish, she even says she has to or else she'd "cease to exist".
* FunnyForeigner: Svetlana considers herself to be Russian. She speaks English, but mispronounces some words with her accent and occasionally speaks with awkward grammar.
* GenkiGirl: Her default emotion is being excessively cheerful.
* GirlyBruiser: She's a GirlyGirl, but based on Alejandro's reaction to Mal using her abilities, she could easily mess you up if she really wanted to.
* GirlyGirl: She has makeup, a high-pitched voice, and is obsessed with the female-dominated sports of gymnastics. There's pretty much no ViewerGenderConfusion surrounding her due to how feminine she acts.
* TheHeart: Easily the kindest member of the group, to the extent that when the personalities begin arguing over who deserves to be the main host, she votes for Mike instead of herself.
* HeroicSacrifice: Willingly surrenders her existence so that Mike can defeat Mal.
* LadyLooksLikeADude: Physically, she looks like Mike with longer eyelashes and lipstick on.
* MultiGenderedSplitPersonalities: She's the only female personality of the male Mike.
* NiceGirl: Besides Mike, she seems to be the friendliest out of all the other personalities.
* PassionateSportsGirl: Self-described as the Olympic queen of gymnastics, there isn't any athletic feat that Svetlana can't handle.
* PluckyGirl: She usually remains cheerful and optimistic, even in grave times.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to both Mike and Chester's blue.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The only female personality.
* SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger: Acrobatic situations. It helps if someone makes an announcement of some sort.
* StockForeignName: Svetlana is a common, and rather stereotypical, Russian girl's name.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Often refers to herself in the third person, especially when announcing something she's going to do.
--> "Hoorah! Svetlana helps you now!"
* VerbalTic:
** She often exclaims "Hyah!" whenever she performs a gymnastic move.
** She apparently says "Da" enough that it's what Mike used to impersonate her.
* WhatTheHellIsThatAccent: Her supposedly Russian accent is vaguely European at best. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] as she's not actually from Russia and is speaking with a Canadian's vocal cords.

!!Vito
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000005793.png]]
->''"Where's the freakin' sun? How's a guy supposed to get a freakin' tan out here?"''

Vito is a stereotypical New Jerseyan Italian-American, complete with the cocky tough-guy attitude. He appears whenever Mike's shirt is removed. Besides the bare chest, Vito's distinguishing traits are his slicked-back hair, DrearyHalfLiddedEyes, and {{Joisey}} accent.
---
* BeautyIsBad: He's supposed to be drop-dead gorgeous, and causes the most trouble for Mike (barring Mal's not in the picture, of course.)
* TheBigGuy: Vito is the physically strongest personality (possibly rivaled by Mal), and has a tendency to use his muscles before his head.
* BloodKnight: Vito likes to fight, demanding that he and the other guys "rumble" instead of handing over the flag.
* BrainlessBeauty: He's considered to be very attractive. He's also extremely stupid and gullible.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: Vito is chained to a boulder by Mal and forced to put on a puppet show routine with a Mal dummy.
* DrearyHalfLiddedEyes: Have these to establish how much more a promiscuous {{Jerkass}} he is than Mike.
* DumbMuscle: He can sock a shark like it's no problem, yet doesn't know what a clue is, or understand the concept of nighttime.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: His hairstyle gels back when in control.
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: He was never exactly evil, but he is quite a bit more of a {{Jerkass}} than Mike and has the eyes to match.
* HatesBeingTouched: If you wanna touch the Vito, you gotta make an appointment!
* HeroicSacrifice: Willingly surrenders his existence so that Mike can defeat Mal.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In spite of all the trouble he causes for Mike, he's never shown doing any of it with ill intent. He's mostly just a guy who wants to have some fun.
* {{Joisey}}: This might be why he and Anne Maria click so well.
* {{Leitmotif}}: A rendition of ''Bad to the Bone'' which is also used for Duncan.
* MakeOutKids: With Anne Maria in "Finders Creepers". Cameron eventually has to yell at them to stop.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: While Anne Maria is based on Snooki, Vito takes after [[Series/JerseyShore The Situation]].
* RealMenEatMeat: The most masculine of the personalities and, according to Mike, is a total carnivore.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to both Mike and Chester's blue.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He thinks he's quite a pretty boy, but truth be told the only girl who's interested in him is Anne Maria.
* SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger: Mike's shirt coming off. Putting it back on is a way to subdue him.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: The first of the series many replacements for Tyler. Being DumbMuscle, prone to AmusingInjuries and being MakeOutKids with Anne Maria, the same way Tyler was with Lindsay.
* VerbalTic: "Eh Yo!" at the start of each sentence.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Having Mike's [[ClothingDamage shirt torn off]] will easily conjure up Vito.

!!Manitoba Smith
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000005794.png]]
->''"G'day, Sheila! Name's Manitoba Smith!"''

Manitoba Smith is a fearless thrill-seeking archaeologist and explorer, as well as a major flirt around women. He appears whenever Mike puts on a hat. Aside from the said hat, Manitoba's distinguishing trait is his Australian accent.
----
* AdventurerArchaeologist: Called a Treasure Hunter, but otherwise pretty much fits the trope perfectly.
* AmbidextrousSprite: The flap on his slouch hat.
* AllThereInTheManual: According to Mike's bio, Manitoba is [[HappilyMarried married]], although it doesn't mention who he's married ''to''.
* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: Oftentimes, Manitoba says Australian jargon without the actual meaning of the slang making any sense in regard to the situation.
* AwesomeAussie: He's Mike's Australian personality, and he's the best when it comes to hunting and digging out things, at least until Jasmine showed up.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: He's evidently the most intelligent of all the personalities, with the possible exception of Mal. He is shown carefully taking note of the surroundings and planning out the best course of action.
* CasanovaWannabe: He's been known to flirt with women, particularly Zoey.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn:
** He makes two misogynistic remarks in his debut, which he never does afterward.
** He also shows no interest in women. Compare this to his later appearances, where he's constantly hitting on them.
* ClintSquint: He always seems to have a determined squint in his eyes.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: He's forced by Mal to wrangle Mike's old, happy dreams and set them on fire.
* {{Expy}}:
** He's one to Franchise/IndianaJones, both being {{Adventurer Archaeologist}}s who wear fedoras. His name is also a clear indication, with their first names being locations, while "Smith" was the original surname Indiana was intended to have.
** The AwesomeAussie shtick takes after Film/CrocodileDundee and the late Creator/SteveIrwin.
* FastTunnelling: As part of his treasure-hunting schtick, Manitoba is an extremely efficient digger.
* GeniusBruiser: A wilderness-hardened AwesomeAussie who is a survival expert.
* TheHatMakesTheMan: A fairly literal example, as he's easily invoked so long as he has access to a [[AdventurerOutfit slouch hat]].
* HeroicSacrifice: Willingly surrenders his existence so that Mike can defeat Mal.
* TheLancer: He is the most resourceful of all the personalities, and acts as Mike's NumberTwo. Everyone looks to him for leadership in Mike's absence, with him taking charge of the team on several occasions. He is also the only personality who is willing to challenge Mike's leadership in ''All-Stars'' (although he later complies), as well as the only one to see through Mal's illusion.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Tribal music featuring the sound of a didgeridoo playing, which is also used for Jasmine.
* NonIndicativeName: The world's most stereotypical Australian shares his name with a Canadian province. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Zoey.
--> They talk like ''that'' in Manitoba?
* NumberTwo: If the personalities had to have one, he'd be Mike's number two, being the most authoritative while also the most controllable.
* OlderAlterEgo: While it's never directly stated, he is most likely older than Mike, as he has a wife and his {{Expy}}s (Indiana Jones and Steve Irwin) are both adults.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to both Mike and Chester's blue Oni.
* SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger: Mike putting on a hat. Taking it off is a way to subdue him.
* TreasureHunter: His primary characterization is his superb treasure-hunting skill.

!!Mal, the Malevolent One
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000005795.png]]
->''"Cameron doesn't know what he's in for. None of them do. If I have my way -- and I will -- everybody loses."''

The polar opposite of Mike, Mal is a heartless sociopath who revels in chaos and destruction. After being released from juvie, he laid dormant for years, to the point where Mike thought he was gone forever. In reality, Mal was conserving his energy and waiting for the perfect time to strike. Mal's distinguishing traits are his [[HidingBehindYourBangs flipped down hair which covers one of his eyes]], eye bags, and [[EvilSoundsDeep deep voice.]]
----
* TheAce: By far the most powerful of all Mike's personalities, both in terms of control over him, intelligence and use of Mike's skills.
* AllYourPowersCombined: In "The Obsta-Kill Kourse", it's revealed he can access the abilities of Mike's other personalities.
* ArchEnemy: Of Mike, being an EnemyWithin who stands for everything that Mike opposes. He was responsible for Mike being incarcerated in juvie many years ago, and upon his final release, he seals Mike inside his own mind along with hurting all of Mike's close friends like Zoey and Cameron.
* AscendedGlitch: He briefly appears in "Grand Chef Auto" as an indistinct shadowy figure that was confirmed to be a visual glitch. ''All-Stars'' turns this glitch into a hidden malevolent sixth personality who acts as the BigBad of the season.
* AxCrazy: He just loves inflicting pain on others. Is delighted when he trips up Cameron to leave him to die to the Harvest Moon-infected animals, ruthlessly beats down on Izzy during the boxing challenge even though he was only supposed to defeat her and throws her out of the ring, and he's more than enthusiastic while beating on Alejandro using Svetlana's athletic skills which also causing Svetlana to wither and fade out in pain. Not to mention the many, ''many'' times he tries to sneak up on the other contestants, usually with a blunt object or other to hit them over the head (fortunately, he's always interrupted).
* BadLiar: Although good at acting, he is noticeably terrible at coming up with lies on the spot. Granted it still takes a good while for the people he's lying to, to tell that something's amiss due to [[MasterActor his acting skills.]]
* BadSamaritan: In "You Regatta Be Kidding Me", he saves Zoey from getting eaten by piranhas. But he makes it very clear in the confessional, he only did so as to not appear suspicious, and not out of the kindness of his own heart.
* BigBad: Of ''All-Stars''. In a season [[BigBadEnsemble full of returning villains]], Mal is the [[EvilerThanThou biggest and baddest of them all]], being the primary source of the season's problems.
* BigBadFriend: When he finally decides to opt for the more subtle manipulation game, he gets on the good side of several characters, all the while plotting their downfall, most notably Mike's friends Zoey and Cameron.
* BilingualBonus: His name means "Evil" or "Bad" in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: He's able to imitate Mike's NiceGuy persona; however, his true self [[OutOfCharacterAlert slips through on occasion]]. Being able to imitate Mike is undoubtedly the best tool in his arsenal, as it causes the other contestants to underestimate him.
* BloodKnight: He claims in "Saving Private Leechball" that he loves when things get scary.
* CameraAbuse: While in a bad mood, he punches the confessional camera and shatters it.
* CardCarryingVillain: Even while he [[BitchInSheepsClothing pretends to be Mike]] for a while, he makes it fully clear to the audience that he's an evil bastard with no low he won't stoop to in order to get what he wants.
* CatchPhrase: "Perfect."
* ChaosIsEvil: The first villain who is completely chaotic and impulsive in his actions, without much thought put into consequences.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: The first half of ''All Stars'' portrays him as merely a petty {{Jerkass}}, breaking the contestants' belongings ForTheEvulz. Around the merge, however, he's shown to be TheChessmaster using manipulation, deceit and sabotage; it is also shown that he does care about the money despite many of his earlier actions implying otherwise.
* CharacterTics: Whistling Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". Apparently did so in the past too, as Duncan [[SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay is the first to recognize him, from both of them being in juvie]].
* TheChessmaster: After Mal is set free, he takes over the game and everyone (especially Cameron and to an extent, Zoey) get played like a fiddle.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Has a nasty habit of backstabbing anyone he allies himself with. He made several attempts to eliminate and/or kill Cameron while manipulating him. He makes an alliance with Alejandro at the end of "You Regatta Be Kidding Me", only to try to frame him for rigging the votes at the beginning of the very next episode. In the "Bold and the Booty-ful" he cuts a deal with Scott to help him in the challenge in exchange for bringing him to the finale with him. Mal immediately backstabs Scott and leaves him to be pummeled by Fang.
* ChronicVillainy: Even when he tries to pretend to be Mike and remain undetected, he just can't help but let his sadistic side show. He cannot resist attempting to attack someone from behind if they are vulnerable, and he can't help but laugh at Chris' malnourished interns.
* ColdBloodedTorture: He subjects Svetlana to agonizing pain while forcing her to beat up Alejandro.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: The biggest contrast from any BigBad before him. At the time of his introduction, Mal was the [[KnightOfCerebus darkest villain to ever appear on Total Drama]], being a [[TheSociopath sociopathic]] SplitPersonality, who does evil deeds [[ForTheEvulz for the fun of it]]. He's also the first villain to be truly evil, and not a PunchClockVillain like his predecessors who were villainous as part of the reality show strategy.
* CreepyShadowedUndereyes: He sports these when he assumes control of Mike's body. They are also the main visual difference between him and Mike when he starts slicking his hair up like Mike's in order to pretend to be him.
* DarkIsEvil: A dark motif is constantly associated with him, from his habit of sneaking around in shadows, to his black silhouette that keeps popping up.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's shown to have shades of this as seen in "Moon Madness".
* DeathGlare: Does these very frequently.
* DemonicDummy: The puppet version of himself he materializes for Vito in "Sundae Muddy Sundae".
* DevilInPlainSight: Subverted, as it is mainly towards Zoey. With Duncan and Alejandro both realizing the truth and giving her repeated warnings.
* TheDreaded: As close as you can get to it in this show.
** All the other personalities fear him, especially Svetlana.
** He has also succeeded in terrifying Zoey, Cameron, and even a tough guy like Duncan. He even manages to make '''[[LackOfEmpathy Chris]]''' flee in terror.
** This also seems to extend to the animals. When on Boney Island instead of fleeing in terror from the mutant animals like most of the other contestants, the animals flee in terror from ''him'', even stampeding over Chef. And when a snapping turtle bites him, he just shoots it a DeathGlare and causes it to flee like a whimpering dog.
** Duncan (admittedly suffering [[invoked]]BadassDecay) was absolutely terrified when he realized who he was.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Makes an appearance for a split second in "Grand Chef Auto" in ''Revenge of the Island'' after Mike defeats his other personalities. Although according to WordOfGod this is actually a visual glitch.
* EnemyWithin: To Mike, being an evil SplitPersonality who manages to [[SplitPersonalityTakeover steal control from Mike]].
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: His eyes were brown like Mike's in his first few appearances, but then changed to plain black.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His [[TheReveal reveal]] in "Evil Dread" with the portrait of Mike burning up and changing to Mal, as well as his PreMortemOneLiner listed below.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: He's unable to understand Zoey's dedication to Mike, and asks her what it is she sees in him.
* EvilGenius: [[SmarterThanYouLook It may not seem like this at first]], but he's somehow able to outsmart and outwit everyone. Even Alejandro, who's a genius in his own right, couldn't come close to defeating him.
* EvilGloating: He engages in some to Mike during "Suckers Punched".
* EvilIsBurningHot: Done quite a bit with him, as he's frequently accompanied by a sinister, fire-themed silhouette. He also mentions that if he wins the prize money, he will buy an [[VolcanoLair evil lair overlooking a volcano]].
* EvilIsPetty: He spends the first few episodes after his debut breaking the belongings of his teammates. Although, as petty as breaking a phone may seem it did cause Sierra to suffer SanitySlippage from Cody withdrawal.
* EvilLaugh: The scariest one to appear in ''Total Drama'' so far.
* EvilPlan: He wants ''everyone'' to lose, whether it be by elimination or attempted murder.
* EvilSoundsDeep: When not pretending to be Mike, he has a low, demonic-sounding voice.
* EvilVersusEvil: Has one with former BigBad Alejandro in "The Obsta-Kill Kourse".
* EvilTowerOfOminousness: He made one inside Mike's mind. He also mentions that when he wins the money he would buy himself a tower, preferably overlooking a volcano. Seriously, what is with this guy's [[NightmareFetishist obsession with towers]]? Symbolically, the one inside Mike's mind looks like a guard tower you might find in a prison (or perhaps in juvenile hall?).
* EvilerThanThou:
** Specifically lampshaded by former BigBad Alejandro, when he realizes Mal is even eviler than he is:
--->'''Alejandro:''' But, I am not the true villain. A greater evil is lurking.
** Duncan knew him in juvie, and was apparently terrified of him; he freaks out when he realizes who he is.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Of a GoodHairEvilHair variety. His hairstyle changes to emo-style HidingBehindYourBangs when in control, although he makes an effort to prop it back up when he's pretending to be Mike.
* {{Expy}}:
** Mal has a huge number of similarities with Yami Marik from ''Manga/YuGiOh'', as both are evil split personalities who reside within a person and eventually take over their host, as well as undergoing a change in hairstyle and voice when assuming control.
** Mal may have also been inspired by Mal Cobb from ''Film/{{Inception}}'', in terms of name and personality.
* FaceFramedInShadow: Done quite a lot with him, so that only his eyes (or often only one eye) and a creepy grinning mouth stand out.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: While he poses as Mike, who is known to be a quirky and sweet-natured person. However, once he drops the act, his features immediately distort to something more sinister.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He sure does a good job pretending to be Mike. He is also frequently seen whistling while he's doing something horrible or just plain petty like attempting murder or breaking phones and video games.
* FinalBoss: After a whole season of villains finally being disposed of, he is the only one that's left in the ''All-Stars'' finale.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Mike. While Mike is a NiceGuy who wants to make many friends and goes out of his way to help people, Mal is a cruel and cold-hearted sadist who delights in spreading terror and inflicting pain upon others. In addition, Mike is cheery, polite, and friendly, while Mal is snarky, manipulative, and rude (although he's able to [[BitchInSheepsClothing feign kindness]] while pretending to be Mike). More subtly, Mike is a BadLiar who comes up with lame excuses to justify his odd behavior, while Mal is a MasterActor able to near-perfectly mimic Mike and mostly remains undetected even to those closest to him like Zoey and Cameron.
** To Alejandro. Both end up being [[EvilerThanThou the vilest of the villains to date]], usurping their predecessors in how cruel and sadistic they are. Both also like to play the BigBadFriend, [[BitchInSheepsClothing pretending to be an ally]] while secretly plotting the downfall of others, and both are very skilled {{Manipulative Bastard}}s. However their antagonistic approaches are very different. Alejandro charms his fellow contestants and often helps them out in order to win their support or to lull them into a false sense of security. Whereas Mal is often impulsively evil and will commit many acts solely ForTheEvulz (especially early in the season where he hadn't gained full control of Mike's body). Alejandro pulls many others into alliances to safeguard himself, while Mal mostly stuck to an alliance with Zoey and Cameron (and a one-off with Alejandro that didn't amount to anything). While Alejandro has the highest elimination count for any villain in the series, Mal has one of the lowest (being only directly responsible for Alejandro and Courtney) and most of his evil actions towards others involve directly physically harming or ruining their life in some way. Finally, Alejandro is TheChessmaster who comes up with elaborate plans to achieve his goals, while Mal tends to [[GambitRoulette act on impulse with little regard for the consequences]].
** To Scott. Both are villains who resort to [[TeamKiller sabotaging their own teammates]], but their reasonings are completely different. Scott's choice of strategy was to make his team lose so that he could keep voting off his competition, while Mal had a complete lack of strategy when screwing over his own team and pretty much was doing it ForTheEvulz. Both also choose to primarily manipulate Zoey, though while Scott simply took advantage of Zoey's naivety, Mal exploited her trust in Mike due his HydePlaysJekyll act. On a similar note, both villains are among the few who do not rely on alliances, though Scott didn't choose to form any alliances by preference, while Mal did attempt to form a few alliances but was simply [[ChronicVillainy too evil to make them work for long]] and betrays most of them before he gets any benefit from said alliance.
*** Also both of their attempts to sabotage their own teams had an ironic ending. Scott was effective in getting his competition voted off and managed to weaken his team, only to be transferred to the other team which was much stronger because of him and having to start over from scratch. Mal however utterly failed to sabotage his own team, but [[TookALevelInBadass after the merger]] was able to make short work out of [[MakeWayForTheNewVillains what was left of the Villainous Vultures.]] Unlike Scott [[HatesEveryoneEqually he was completely fine with this.]]
** To Chris. He and Chris are the only two genuine [[TheSociopath sociopaths]] in the show. But with Chris it's mostly [[ComedicSociopathy played for comedy]], whereas with Mal it's [[KnightOfCerebus taken quite seriously.]] Chris is more high-functioning and seems to be able to maintain a normal life, and hold a job [[PunchClockVillain that allows him to channel his sadism legally]] and hold a position of authority. Whereas Mal is incapable of functioning in any sort of society, getting put in juvey at a young age [[ChronicVillainy and having a constant need to commit crimes and cause chaos]], even knowing full well he's being recorded for a reality show.
* ForTheEvulz:
** The reason why he destroys Sam's game guy, crushes Sierra's cell phone, rigged the salad obstacle, breaks Cameron's glasses, and Duncan's knife, and gives Izzy a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown. His murder attempts also aren't justifiable.
** His assignments for Chester, Svetlana, and Vito seem to offer him zero benefits, implying they're just there to make them suffer.
* FromBadToWorse: Mike's attempt to reclaim control by [[TapOnTheHead hitting himself in the head with a boulder]], reasoning that's how Mal got released in the first place, only succeeds in giving Mal total control of him while he himself is chained to a Mal-shaped boulder inside his own mind.
* GambitRoulette: Arguably a lot of his successes are due to luck-of-the-moment opportunities, or because everyone else got hit by the IdiotBall this season. A particularly notable example is him being able to conveniently find the chart Courtney made to frame her, with [[{{Plothole}} no explanation as to how he was able to acquire it]].
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: His eyes are almost always half-lidded, while Mike's are usually wide open.
* HatedByAll: InUniverse he might just be the most universally despised character. Absolutely ''no one'' has felt a shred of sympathy for him upon finding out his true nature. Even Alejandro, Heather, and Chris have managed to score an occasional friend along the way.
* HateSink: Mal is made as despicable as possible by ''Total Drama'' standards. Nearly all villains have some redeeming factor and a shred of humanity that can be uncovered, but not Mal. He's a [[TheSociopath sociopath]] who has made several murder attempts on other contestants. He goes out of his way to ruin the lives of others and break their spirits for no reason other than ForTheEvulz. He's so heinous that even other villains are [[EvenEvilHasStandards appalled by or terrified of him]], including [[{{Sadist}} Chris]], and ultimately [[HatedByAll no character has even the slightest sympathy towards him]].
* HellishPupils: His eyes become small and black when in control.
* HiddenDepths: As he fades from existence, he begs Mike to let him live because it's better ''for Mike'' for Mal to be in charge. This is notable because it's the only time Mal's motivations are even ''implied'' to be for anything other than his own sadistic self-interest. [[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation Whether or not Mal was being truthful is up for debate,]] but this exchange still signifies that Mal might have a more complex relationship towards Mike and being in control than previously established.
* HiddenEvil: No one knows of his existence except all of his other personalities, Duncan, and Mike himself. Presumably, Chris knows as well, but he doesn't say anything for the sake of more drama and ratings. He steps out of this in the finale of ''All-Stars'', once Zoey lets him know she's onto him.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Mal is the sole evil alternate personality of Mike and he has his own characteristic haircut. Where Mike's pompadour gives him an open appearance, Mal has their hair flipped down to cover one of his eyes and make him look like he has something to hide. Which he does.
* HydePlaysJekyll: In "Moon Madness", he pretends to be Mike while causing chaos (while under the influence of the Blue Harvest Moon). Later, in "No One Eggspects The Spanish Opposition", he gets to trap Mike inside his own mind and continues pretending to be him.
* {{Irony}}: In a season where the members of the Heroes and Villains teams flip-flop like pancakes, Mal is the most evil of the villains, and yet he (by pretending to be Mike) remains on the Heroes team for the entire season.
* JekyllAndHyde: The Hyde to Mike's Jekyll.
* {{Jerkass}}: From breaking people's phones to dumping his own allies in a pool of toxic waste. There is no line he isn't willing to cross just to be a sadistic asshole.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: He saves Zoey from being eaten by piranhas in "You've Regatta Be Kidding Me", but makes it clear he did so only to keep his cover from being blown.
* JustBetweenYouAndMe: Mal reveals his identity to Cameron, but only after the latter has been horribly maimed and is about to be sent home.
* KarmicDeath: He is the only antagonist whose karma is permanent.
* KickTheDog:
** Mal didn't really have a reason to break the possessions of his teammates other than to be a dick.
** A fairly literal example: When he sees a severely battered Alejandro, whose [[IronButtMonkey latest injury]] is having several leeches latched onto him, he pretends to offer help, before kicking him hard in the stomach and saying, "See you in the toilet, Al."
* KilledOffForReal: Ceases to exist at the end of ''All-Stars'', due to Mike pressing a literal ResetButton in his head, leaving Mike as the only one in his head.
* KingInTheMountain: Literally, when he whistles "''In The Hall Of The Mountain King''".
* KnightOfCerebus: Mal is easily the darkest villain to date, being completely devoid of any redeeming qualities and having tried to flat-out ''kill'' people on several occasions.
* KubrickStare: Does several of these. His first one is when he's let out of the portrait he was sealed in.
* LackOfEmpathy: He tries to hide this when pretending to be Mike, but he just [[{{Sadist}} cannot stop himself from laughing when he sees the severely malnourished interns]].
* LaughingMad: He's very fond of giving {{Evil Laugh}}s, which are noticeably more psychotic than all previous antagonists.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "In the Hall of the Mountain King," which he also likes to whistle.
* LeanAndMean: Shares Mike's NoodlePeople design, which is probably one of the reasons why everyone keeps underestimating him and is taken by surprise when he reveals his SuperStrength.
* MakeItLookLikeAnAccident: Spends most of the season trying to kill contestants in this fashion.
* TheManInTheMirrorTalksBack: In "Suckers Punched", he temporarily materializes a mirror in Mike's mind for this purpose.
* ManipulativeBastard: Begins to show signs of this in the second half of ''All-Stars'', especially towards Zoey and Cameron, where he pretends to be Mike to secure their loyalty, whilst also planting seeds of doubt towards other contestants.
* MasterActor: Mal is exceptional at impersonating Mike, to the point where he can remain undetected to those closest to Mike like Zoey and Cameron. The irony is Mike pretended to be an actor to explain away his {{Split Personalit|y}}ies while Mal is the real deal.
* MeaningfulName: Mal, while being short for "The Malevolent One", is also French/Spanish/Portuguese for "bad", "evil" or "wrong".
* TheMentallyDisturbed: If Mike's MPD wasn't enough, the inclusion of a [[TheSociopath sociopathic]] SplitPersonality takes this up to eleven.
* MindRape: Torments Mike inside his mind a few times, especially in "The Bold and the Booty-ful" where he deceives Mike into thinking he is the original personality.
* MusclesAreMeaningless:
** Despite having Mike's [[NoodlePeople relatively scrawny build]], Mal manages to lift a boulder over his head, intending to kill Cameron in "Zeek and Ye Shall Find".
** He also overpowers Alejandro, bringing him to his knees in "The Obsta-Kill Kourse".
* MysteriousPast: Duncan has provided some insight, but there's still a lot we don't know. For starters, what exactly was it that Mal did to end up in juvie?
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Does "The Malevolent One" sound like a hero's name to you? Also, "Mal" is French for "bad" and "evil".
* NearVillainVictory: The only BigBad aside from Alejandro to make it to the final two in the season they were the villain.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain:
** The objects he gave to punish Chester and Vito were used to break their chains.
** Mal gives Mike a wallet to make him think he is the original personality. When Mike realized it was a trick, he forms it into a key to free Manitoba.
** Mal attempts to further deceive Zoey into believing his act by mentioning memories only Mike would have. Unfortunately, he recalls one memory incorrectly, confirming Zoey's suspicions that Mike is not in control.
* NightmareFetishist: In "Saving Private Leechball", he stated in the confessional that he loves it "when things get scary."
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Delivers one to [[AxCrazy Izzy]] of all people when he has to fight her in a boxing match. It's the only time her injuries aren't PlayedForLaughs.
* NoLoveForTheWicked: He's the only male villain in the history of the show (unless you count [[AmbiguouslyGay Jacque]]) to never show any interest in women and the only one who WouldHitAGirl. Even though he's Mike's SplitPersonality, Mal makes it painfully clear none of his feelings for Zoey transfer over to him.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: In "The Obsta-Kill Kourse". Alejandro exposes Mal and tries to blackmail him with the existence of a disk full of incriminating footage. Mal wastes no time in trying to defend himself or going along with Alejandro's threats, quickly grabbing Alejandro's wrist and crushing it, forcing him to kneel on the ground. The usually composed, confident Alejandro is reduced to promising compliance for the time being.
* NoodleIncident: Whatever he did to land himself in juvenile hall was so bad that it made ''Duncan'' afraid of him.
* NumberOfTheBeast: The sixth and final personality to emerge.
* ObviouslyEvil: This guy practically ''drips'' evil. He has a [[EvilSoundsDeep deep demonic voice]], CreepyShadowedUndereyes, [[ExpositoryHairstyleChange hair changing to]] HidingBehindYourBangs, and an unsettling EvilLaugh. There's also the fact his title is "The Malevolent One" and he's always accompanied by a ScareChord whenever he appears. Also, his name means "bad" or "evil" in numerous languages.
* OutOfCharacterAlert: Mal is very good at impersonating Mike, but sometimes his true, sadistic personality leaks through.
* PerfectDisguiseTerribleActing: Mal can do a pitch-perfect impression of Mike, but he makes blunders in actually ''behaving'' like Mike (such as not being able to keep his facts straight, doing his signature malevolent whistle, and accidentally letting his true sadistic personality slip through), and it was these blunders that influenced him getting caught. Downplayed for the "terrible acting" part, however, as it did take quite a while for Mal to be exposed, and he was able to keep the ruse up even to Mike's closest friends.
* PowerEchoes: When not pretending to be Mike, his voice sometimes has a reverb effect.
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: Coupled with Mal actually having superhuman strength, see SuperPoweredEvilSide. Whenever he takes control, his hair magically seems to flop down. And in order to keep posing as Mike he needs to put the hair back up with his hand.
* PracticallyJoker: An AxCrazy {{sociopath}} who is unpredictably chaotic and enjoys terrorizing others ForTheEvulz as well as being LaughingMad. It's also [[MultipleChoicePast put up to debate whether he or Mike is the original personality]]. Mal is the closest thing ''Total Drama'' has to the Joker.
* PragmaticVillainy: In "You Regatta Be Kidding Me", he makes it clear the only reason he saves Zoey from being eaten alive by piranhas is so his cover won't be blown.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
** His opening line, when he first emerges:
--> '''Mal''': One by one they will all fall.
** He also gives one to Alejandro:
--> '''Mal''': See you in the toilet Al.
* PsychopathicManchild: He's callous, impulsive, and his behavior towards the other contestants comes across like that of a schoolyard bully tormenting other kids.
* RedBaron: He is known among the other personalities as "The Malevolent One".
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to all the other personalities' blue.
* RedRightHand: Mike gains [[CreepyShadowedUndereyes rings around his eyes]] whenever Mal takes over.
* RememberTheNewGuy: Despite us not hearing a word about him before, Mike and all the other personalities regard Mal as an established dreaded force once they realize he's returning.
** Duncan, who's been around since the start, had already met him in juvie and seemed more scared of him than a Music/CelineDion standee, but he was unaware that he was the alternate personality of someone suffering from [=MPD=].
* {{Sadist}}: The suffering of others delights him. He is unable to stop himself from laughing gleefully upon seeing Chris's starving, emancipated interns. He also stops to make fake boating sounds so he can listen to Zoey's screams for help when she's about to be EATEN ALIVE!
* SatanicArchetype: Mal is the closest thing to a devil figure that ''Total Drama'' has to offer. Mal is an evil entity usually surrounded by flames, desires control, and was once sealed away due to his malevolence. He also corrupts Mike and manipulates the other contestants by disguising himself as the innocent-looking Mike and making deals that will screw them over. Alejandro even draws Mal as such.
* SealedEvilInACan: He was sealed inside Mike's mind until a blow to the head by Scott's shovel freed him.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: He is the Manly Man to Mike's Sensitive Guy.
* SixthRanger: Was the only personality introduced in ''All-Stars,'' and after it had already been made clear that Mike had five personalities.
* SlasherSmile: He's fond of giving them.
* SlidingScaleOfAntagonistVileness: Mal is hands down the worst villain in terms of morality, having attempted outright murder on other contestants, as opposed to most of the other PunchClockVillain.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Contrary to what his usual, impulsive, chaotic, strategic-less behavior suggests, he can prove to be very intelligent should he choose to do so, being a ManipulativeBastard in his own right.
* TheSociopath: He seems to get a high from the prospect of being able to maim others. So far he has been shown to target everyone with no remorse. His first major appearance in "Moon Madness" alone has him attempting to kill Cameron by throwing him in the middle of bloodthirsty animals and attempting to hit Zoey off a pretty steep cliff, and in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me" he would have been completely fine with letting Zoey get eaten alive by piranhas if it wouldn't have ruined his cover.
* SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay: Duncan doesn't recognize Mal until he hears him whistle "In the Hall of the Mountain King".
* SpannerInTheWorks: He messes with the Salad Spinner's controls in "Food Fright", just in time for poor Courtney to get thrown in.
* SplitPersonalityTakeover: By "No One Eggspects The Spanish Opposition" until the ''All-Stars'' finale. Though the way it's done with Mal makes it seem more like DemonicPossession.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: The central focus of ''All-Stars'', to the point where he [[IdiotBall dumbs down]] several previously prominent characters, like former antagonists Alejandro and Scott, in order to stay in the game.
* StealthHiBye: Usually accompanied by a [[LightningReveal lightning strike]].
* StepfordSmiler: While pretending to be Mike, he hides his true feelings with a fake smile.
* SuperPoweredAlterEgo: All of the personalities have their special ability, but Mal in particular is where it verges beyond realism.
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Mal gains SuperStrength when he is in control.
* SuperStrength: He can break electronic devices like Sam's Game Guy and Sierra's cell phone with ease, the latter he did ''with one hand''. He can heft up boulders above his head. He can also overpower proficient and athletic combatants like Izzy and Alejandro.
* TokenEvilTeammate:
** Like Courtney and Duncan (after the switch), he ironically became this to the Heroic Hamsters.
** As for the various personalities of Mike, Mal himself is appropriately ''the most'' '''''[[{{Pun}} mal-evolent]]''''' one among them.
* TooPowerfulToLive: With the level of evil that Mal held, there was no way he could have remained on the show without risking the safety of all the other characters. Really the one way to remove the threat he posed was to [[DeathOfPersonality remove him from existence]].
* UnknownRival: Duncan is the first to know of Mal's existence and he attempts to warn others of him, but only Zoey takes his warning seriously before he is eliminated. Mal, on the other hand, doesn't even know Duncan is onto him, spending more time getting Zoey to trust him and messing with the other contestants.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: By ''Total Drama'' standards? ''Oh yeah,'' if the multiple ''attempted murders'' were of any indication enough already.
* VillainTeamUp: With Alejandro, though Mal is simply too evil for it to work for long and it turned into a one-upmanship of who could incriminate whom first. Mal ends up on top and eliminates Alejandro from the show.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: As a result of Mike being a NiceGuy, no one ever suspects him of being the one who caused of all the chaos until it is too late. Duncan and Alejandro are among the first to know of Mal, but due to their antagonistic past or in Duncan's case, his exes hating his guts, they all fall on deaf ears.
* VillainousBreakdown: Doesn't take fading from existence well and starts begging Mike to give him control.
* WalkingSpoiler: Given that the personality only openly came into effect a season after all the others.
* WickedCultured: His tendency to whistle "In the Hall of the Mountain King" implies he's either this or a big fan of WesternAnimation/{{Fantasia}}.
* TheWorfEffect: To spite his relatively low elimination count he's the only Total Drama villain with the bragging rights of getting three ExBigBad's eliminated.
* YourFavorite: Despite failing to find his assigned treasure, Mal is able to avoid otherwise certain elimination in "The Bold and the Booty-ful" by presenting Chris with something else he treasures: an injured competitor.

A sweet, optimistic, and naïve girl with a FriendlessBackground, due to her hipster interests. She joined ''Total Drama'' in hopes of making some new friends and does her best to get along with everybody or gain their approval - although this habit tends to get the better of her.
----
* TheAce: Zoey comes to learn she has exceptional athletic ability after her Commando Zoey phase, being able to perform difficult acrobatic maneuvers, having ImprobableAimingSkills, and being stronger than her size would suggest.
%%* ActionGirl: After Mike is eliminated.
* ActionSurvivor: She becomes almost a replica of one in "Eat, Puke, and Be Wary". While the crazy survivalist personality eventually fades, the skills that she [[SuddenlyAlwaysKnewThat suddenly obtained]] do not.
* AllLovingHeroine: It's very difficult to make her angry, and she even feels compassion to her enemies. Though on the off chance you ''do'' make her angry, [[BewareTheNiceOnes be very afraid]].
* ApologisesALot: Unless she really intends to do harm, she tends to say "I'm sorry" frequently. Notably and ironically averted when she gets angry and aggressive at Anne Maria for forcing her off the pump in "Backstabbers Ahoy," even though Anne Maria just saved Jo's life. Zoey never thought to apologize or even express regret for what she did, even though this was a time when an apology actually ''was'' necessary.
* ArcHero: Zoey serves this role in both ''Revenge of the Island'' and ''All-Stars''.
** She shares this spot with Cameron in ''Revenge of the Island'', they spend most of the season being protected by Mike but after Scott gets him eliminated it's left up to the two of them to take him down. However in doing so they inadvertently cause Lightning to make a FaceHeelTurn and he gets her eliminated immediately after.
** In ''All-Stars'', she and Mike are the main protagonists of the season, but with Mike getting trapped in his mind halfway through the season and with Mal given free reign, Zoey is the main hero in the real world having to deal with both the competition and uncovering the truth about Mike/Mal.
* AscendedFangirl: In the first episode of ''Revenge of the Island'', she states that she is stoked to be on ''Total Drama'', having watched the show since its inception. Later, she was initially excited to meet Heather and was both shocked and dismayed when Heather called her a loser.
* BadassAdorable: Don't be fooled by her cute appearance; Zoey ''will'' [[MartialPacifist defend herself when necessary]]. In "Truth or Laser Shark", a pair of mutant beavers were about to eat her and she kicked them both in the {{groin|attack}}. She [[ApologeticAttacker apologizes]] to them while saying she did warn them to stop.
* TheBeastmaster: She commandeers a trio of flying mountain goats to attack Scott in "Up, Up And Away In My Pitiful Balloon".
* BettyAndVeronica: Betty to Anne Maria's Veronica. Mike, the Archie, prefers Zoey over Anne Maria when his normal personality has control. She wins in the end.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: It takes a lot to get Zoey angry, but when she ''does'' get angry, she can be quite scary.
--> '''Chef Hatchet:''' I may have pushed her too far.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and her boyfriend Mike share a background of loneliness; in her case, it's because of her differing interests from her town. They also have similar tastes in food and movies.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The redhead (even if it's not in the natural shade like Scott's) to Jo's blonde and Anne Maria's brunette.
* BrokenBird: Her Commando persona is much more aggressive, selfish, immoral, and very nearly leads to a FaceHeelTurn. Fortunately, she gets better by the end of the episode.
* BroodingBoyGentleGirl: In ''All-Stars'', she's the Gentle Girl to Duncan's (supposedly) Brooding Boy. She's a NiceGirl who tries to see the best in everyone while Duncan is a delinquent with a HairTriggerTemper and a HiddenHeartOfGold.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Towards Mike's "affair" with Anne Maria (even if he's not aware of it). This is the reason why [[BettyAndVeronica both girls]] had a conflict.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Was sometimes this for Sierra in ''All-Stars'', credited with being one of the few characters who can tolerate her presence.
%%* CoolBigSis: Acts this way towards Cameron.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Downplayed, she's competent but extremely insecure. She starts off as very nonthreatening, but after her {{Xenafication}}, Zoey gains incredible survival skills. These skills are retained in ''All-Stars'' and make her one of the most competent members of the Heroic Hamsters.
* CuteAndPsycho: During her HeroicSafeMode rampage in "Eat, Puke and Be Wary". She hunts down Chef Hatchet via an elaborate array of traps and puts Scott in a full-body cast because of said traps.
* DecoyProtagonist: She’s the only girl of the final three so she’s going to be the female finalist right? Thanks to Lightning, nope. In a surprising twist, ''Revenge of the Island'' is the only season with a finale that isn’t a complete girl-versus-boy competition (which includes the case of ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaPresentsTheRidonculousRace'', where in that spin-off, it instead has two girls competing against two boys). {{Subverted}} in ''All-Stars'' where she’s the main protagonist and a finalist alongside Mike.
* DamselInDistress: Played with.
** Played straight in ''Revenge of the Island'', and she {{lampshade|Hanging}}s the number of times Mike has saved her life in "Grand Chef Auto".
--->'''Zoey:''' I don't even ''know'' how many times Mike's saved my butt. Mike, if you're watching this, me and my butt thank you.
** Mostly averted in ''All-Stars''; however, she [[DeliberatelyDistressedDamsel deliberately invokes this]] in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me" to test if Mike is really in control of himself.
* TheDitz: A downplayed version in ''All-Stars''. She's not a total ditz but is shown to be very gullible and obtuse, as evidenced by it taking ''an entire season'' for her to realize that Mal exists, despite receiving explicit warnings from both Alejandro and Duncan.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: She always tries to see the best in people, even people who give her very little to go off and she came to accept Mike's alternate personalities once she became aware of them. She even managed to forgive Scott for his villainous deeds by the time ''All-Stars'' roles in. However when she found out about Mal she wanted nothing but his removal from her boyfriend's mind.
* FieryRedhead: Normally, she is a level-headed person; however, [[BewareTheNiceOnes she can get violent when provoked]]. {{Subverted|Trope}} as her hair is not naturally red (compared to the other naturally red-haired characters, such as Izzy and Scarlett), ''even biologically'' (unlike with [[spoiler:Dakota's case of having green hair when she's turning into the Dakotazoid, thanks to some radioactive stuff that was inside of the mines]]).
* FirstGirlWins: In "Grand Chef Auto", Zoey was almost ready to break off her relationship with Mike because he was helping Scott and abandoning her during the challenge (not realizing that Mike was being blackmailed by Scott); however, when Mike overcomes his multiple personalities and admits it to Zoey, she accepts him for his flaws, and their relationship starts in earnest.
* {{Foil}}: To Gwen. Both are loners who auditioned to compete in ''Total Drama''. However, Gwen chose to be a loner who was cautious of who to let into her life and only auditioned to compete out of a dare she made with her brother, while Zoey is an only child who auditioned to compete specifically to meet new people with her desire to make new friends and naivety being exploited by several manipulative contestants.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In her audition video she says that when she gets on the show, her worst nightmare is getting voted off by a jock; fast forward to episode 12 of ''Revenge of the Island'', and it comes to pass.
* FreakyIsCool: She admits that she likes oddballs, especially after Mike admitted his MPD to her.
* FriendlessBackground: She mentions having difficulty making friends in her hometown, due to being an outcast amongst the jocks.
* TheGenericGirl: Her character is severely lacking in the "interesting" department, being the only contestant without a prominent quirk. This is temporarily subverted in "Eat, Puke and Be Wary", where she [[TookALevelInBadass takes a level in badass]] and enters HeroicSafeMode, but she eventually reverts back to her previous persona.
* GirlishPigtails: Zoey is an only-child from a small town where she doesn't really fit in. Her short hair is done up in pigtails and accentuated with a flower, which signifies her Girl Next Door-style shelteredness and inexperience.
* GirlNextDoor: For Mike.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: Zoey is among the most feminine characters in the series, but she also shows great athletic prowess, especially during her commando phase.
* GoodIsNotSoft: She may be one of the kindest and most compassionate characters in the franchise, but as Commando Zoey, she shows no mercy.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: Her sleepwear.
* TheHeart: She is the kindest, most compassionate member of her team, even feeling concerned for her enemies.
* HeroicSacrifice: Similar to Brick's sacrifice mentioned above. She was seconds away from winning the penultimate challenge but stopped to save Cameron, which allowed Lightning to win and ultimately got her voted off.
* {{Hipster}}: Her label and audition video suggest hints of this, as she states that she wanted to "go to indie theaters, and wear retro clothes and horn-rimmed glasses", but otherwise [[InNameOnly none of this was carried into the show]].
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: One of her most prominent characterizations. This led her to become particularly susceptible to manipulation from antagonists like Scott and Mal, and will typically be the last to realize their true nature. This is especially the case in ''All-Stars'' where she sometimes actively dismisses problems (such as Mike's odd behavior) or warnings from others, instead of addressing them.
-->'''Mal''': How gullible ''is'' this girl?
* IconicItem: The necklace Mike gives her.
* IdiotBall: Gets hit by this when it comes to Mal. She notices Mike acting strange and witnesses him injuring Cameron, and is warned by Duncan about Mal and theorizes that he's connected to Mike. The two later both note how it was unlike Mike to so ruthlessly beat up Izzy. However, Zoey ultimately writes it off as a personality problem that Mike has under control. Mal then goes on to expose Courtney's chart to turn the other contestants against her, and laugh at a starving intern, and Zoey ''still'' doesn't realize something's up. The final kicker is her not understanding Alejandro's warning about a "great evil" despite him having literally drawn Mike as a devil earlier that day.
-->'''Alejandro''': How can she not see? Maybe they are perfect for each other.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Her reason for joining ''Total Drama''.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: After becoming an ActionGirl, this becomes one of her most useful abilities.
* InASingleBound: Also as part of her Commando phase, she, however, retains it after reverting to normal as shown in "Saving Private Leechball" where she easily bounds up some trees.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Progressively gets madder at Mike for not controlling his "acting," unaware he has a disorder he genuinely cannot control. She also calls Mike's characters crazy to his face, not knowing the reason he won't tell her the truth is because he's worried she'll think he's crazy.
* JerkassBall: During her commando phase. It is best shown during "The Enchanted Franken Forest", where she constantly insults her friend Cameron and keeps referring to their accomplishments as her own. This eventually leads to her having a JerkassRealization when she realizes she went too far and throws the challenge to save Cameron.
* JerkassRealization: She spends a lot of "The Enchanted Franken Forest" being rude to Cameron, despite their friendship and putting herself before the two of them. She slowly starts to realize how terrible she has become and eventually, she gives up winning the challenge to save Cameron.
* LateToTheRealization: She finally learns of Mal's intervention just in time for the ''All-Stars'' finale.
* TheLeader: For the Heroic Hamsters, tending to serve as the TeamMom and TheAce.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: Light to Gwen's dark. Also the light to Anne Maria's dark.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Fell for Mike practically the moment the two of them met before they even set foot on the island.
* MacGyvering: She makes an improvised slingshot out of a dinner fork in "The Enchanted Franken-Forest".
* MadnessMakeover: When she dons war paint and makes a bandanna out of the bottom half of her top in "Eat, Puke, and Be Wary".
* MaleGaze: Much like Courtney, Zoey gets a fair number of butt shots.
* MartialPacifist: Zoey normally doesn't like to start fights, but she will finish one when necessary.
* MirrorCharacter:
** She's comparable to Beth in terms of their FriendlessBackground. However, later she becomes more like Bridgette as both are {{Team Mom}}s.
** To Heather, both were the love interest of a BigBad, who they made it to the finale with. But Alejandro's love for Heather ended up being his FatalFlaw, and she used it to manipulate him and then [[HumiliationConga subject him to a very brutal defeat]]. [[ThePowerOfLove Mike's love of Zoey]] in contrast, gave him the HeroicWillpower to overcome [[JekyllAndHyde Mal]] and take back control of his body. While Heather came second in Alejandro's ending due to a technicality and ended the season on bad terms with Alejandro, Zoey [[GracefulLoser happily accepted coming second]] in Mike's ending because she had the man she loved back and the two shared the prize money.
* NiceGirl: Except for Scott in ''Revenge of the Island'' and Mal in ''All-Stars'', she's nice to practically everyone.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween:
** In ''Revenge of the Island'', she is nice to Jo's mean and Anne Maria's in-between.
** In ''All-Stars'', before Courtney is switched to the Villainous Vultures, Zoey is the nice, Courtney the mean, and Sierra the in-between.
** Of the final three members of the Heroic Hamsters, she's the nice to Mal's mean and Duncan's Inbetween.
* NonconformistDyedHair: She is a self-proclaimed "indie chick" with a FriendlessBackground. Her hair is dyed bright red.
* NotHerself: During the latter half of "Eat, Puke and Be Wary" and "The Enchanted Franken-Forest".
* OnlyFriend: To Duncan during ''All-Stars''. Between his fear of Mike/Mal, thoroughly burned bridges with Courtney and Gwen and not wanting anyone to see he was [[BadassDecay losing his edge]], she was the only person he didn't keep a distance with before he was dragged off to prison.
* OnlySaneWoman: Among the second-generation cast, Zoey seems to be the most normal, at least prior to "Eat, Puke and Be Wary", though she gets better.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: Played for laughs, when she sees the million dollar case in "Up, Up And Away In My Pitiful Balloon"...
-->'''Zoey:''' ''(entranced)'' Money! Removing all common sense and fear of danger.\
'''Scott:''' Too bad you'll never win it. ''(Zoey pushes him down)'' Owww!!\
'''Zoey:''' ''(angrily, to Scott)'' Just watch me! ''(in her normal tone)'' If that's okay with you.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: She gets to be the one who ends up paying back Scott for everything he did, and it is very painful.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: With Mike, though she wears red instead of pink other than the flower in her hair.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Zoey is this to Cameron.
* PlotAllergy: Zoey is allergic to dog hair as demonstrated by her sneezing in "[[Recap/TotalDramaTheObstaKillCourse The Obsta-Kill Course]]" when climbing a rope made of the stuff.
* ThePollyanna: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She is the most optimistic and idealistic person among the second-generation cast; however, Zoey ''does'' have a breaking point.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: In "The Enchanted Franken-Forest", she realizes that her friendship with Cameron is far more important and valuable than the prize money, [[JerkassRealization causing her to drop the "commando girl" persona]] she adopted in the previous episode.
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: "Hey, birdbrain! This is for Mike! Goats, FIRE!", which eventually leads to...
* PreMortemOneLiner: "Sorry pal, better luck next life."
* RageBreakingPoint: She snaps in "Eat, Puke and Be Wary" when the necklace Mike gave her breaks.
* RedheadInGreen: Her swimwear.
* RedOniBlueOni:
** The blue to Anne Maria's red.
** Also the red to Gwen's blue in All-Stars, especially through their physical color contrast [[ColourCodedForYourConvenience red and green]].
* SanitySlippage: In "Eat, Puke and Be Wary." She's pushed so far that she snaps into a [[ActionSurvivor crazy survivalist]], though she gets better just in time to rescue Cameron and be eliminated.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Subverted. In "Up, Up And Away In My Pitiful Balloon", she was ready to walk out on the challenge; however, Chris reminds her of what was at stake, leading to the above-mentioned OOC Moment.
* ShipTease: Quite blatantly with Mike, eventually leading to a RelationshipUpgrade.
* SignatureHeadgear: Wears a flower in her hair at all times. Quite remarkable it's still there considering how often her hair gets wet.
* SilkHidingSteel: Zoey is among the kindest and most compassionate girls in the series; however, her commando phase unveiled her "steel" side.
* SmittenTeenageGirl: She acts this way towards Mike, and is overjoyed when they eventually get together.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Of the final four in Revenge of the Island.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: While Cameron and Mike are given more attention when individually considering ''Revenge of the Island'' and ''All-Stars'', she's the most focused-on second-generation cast member over both seasons, appearing in every episode of the two aforementioned seasons and competing in every episode except for one.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: To top off her {{Xenafication}}, Zoey is suddenly made highly skilled at archery. To contrast, when given the choice for weapons, evil Mal chooses a bazooka while Zoey chooses the bow and arrow.
* TeamMom: Acts as one towards Cameron, Dakota, Sam, and Sierra.
* TemporarilyAVillain: Her Commando phase could qualify as such.
* TemptingFate: In her audition video, she says her biggest fear is getting voted off by a jock. In Episode 12, [[JerkJock Lightning]] chooses to have her eliminated.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type B. She is normally a sweet, sensible girl; however, [[FieryRedhead she can get violent]] [[BewareTheNiceOnes when provoked]].
* TookALevelInBadass: At the start of ''Revenge of the Island'' she was generally a DamselInDistress who relied on Mike to save her from dangerous situations. During her 'Commando Zoey' phase however she gains athletic skills, prominent aiming skills, and considerable strength. She retains these skills in ''All-Stars'' as she knocks a couple of sharks away from Mike and Gwen using the medallion Mike gave her as a slingshot, lands a torched piece perfectly on a statue from a great distance, and dodges a barrage of leeches fired by Jo at BulletTime.
* TurnTheOtherCheek: She seems to have forgiven Scott in ''All-Stars'', despite what he did last season.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Mike. Lampshaded in "Evil Dread", where Manitoba tests this by flirting with her to see if she rejects him.
-->'''Manitoba Smith''': Yeah, she's a loyal one.
* UnknownRival: Courtney has been targeting Zoey for much of ''All-Stars'', seeing her the biggest threat and later, [[NewFriendEnvy jealous of her friendship with Gwen]]. Until ''Sundae Muddy Sundae'', Zoey doesn't shows any resentment towards Courtney at all, let alone knowing that she is targeted.
* UnwittingPawn: For Mal.
* WideEyedIdealist: She tries to see the good in everyone, no matter how much dislike they receive from others, and is quick to forgive her enemies. However, this also leads her to have a HorribleJudgeOfCharacter and will cause her to be a bit slow in detecting antagonists.
* WasItAllALie: Is clearly distressed when Duncan suggests that Mal's the real one and Mike is just one of his personalities, which is probably why she was in denial of Mal's existence all season in spite of the overwhelming evidence.
* {{Xenafication}}: She starts as a DamselInDistress but goes into HeroicSafeMode in "Eat, Puke, and Be Wary", turning into a CuteAndPsycho ActionGirl in the process. ThePowerOfFriendship later gets rid of the psycho part, but keeps the ActionGirl part.
