!!Bad Mr. Frosty
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bad_mr_frosty.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Call me Daddy'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MichaelMcConnohie (''C1'' and ''C2''), Creator/JessHarnell (''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'')
Bad Mr. Frosty is a snowman with an attitude! He is one of the two characters to appear in all the Clayfighter games to date and has also appeared on every box art cover for every game in the series. Bad Mr. Frosty is a grouchy snowman who lives at the North Pole, though he occasionally helps the good guys. He has snow/ice based attacks, including throwing snowballs, creating sharp icicles, and sliding across the ground. He's typically seen wearing a blue/purple top hat, though in ''C2: Judgment Clay'', he wore a light brown baseball cap backwards.
----
* AntiHero: He's not so "bad" as the name says, but neither is he a hero in the traditional sense.
* ArchNemesis: Sumo Santa in ''63⅓''.
* BeTheBall: One of his moves is to convert himself into a giant snow ball and launch himself at his opponent.
* BloodKnight: Is especially fond of tearing apart his clay opponents.
* CallingYourAttacks:
-->''SNOW BALL!''
-->''ICE BASH!''
* CatchPhrase: "Call me Daddy".
* CorruptedCharacterCopy: He appears to be a dark parody of ''WesternAnimation/FrostyTheSnowman'', which is most notable in his ''63⅓'' battle intro, where he appears as a classic snowman and then pops up into normal Frosty form.
-->'''Frosty:''' ''Don't need this disguise anymore.''
* DamnYouMuscleMemory: With the exception of his "Snowball" move, not a single appearance of Frosty plays the same as the previous one, having a completely different moveset for every game.
* EvilTwin: Ice in ''C2''.
* GoodIsNotNice: The "Bad" in his name isn't an ArtifactTitle after his HeelFaceTurn, he is a pretty pitiless hero.
* {{Gorn}}: One of his Claytalities in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'' is to squeeze the opponent so hard that they become [[https://youtu.be/xkiFpfrcKK4?t=44 the "juice" of his snowcone]].
* HeelFaceTurn: In the first game, Frosty appears to be evil, but is later an AntiHero in ''C2'', and is finally TheHero in ''63⅓''. Even with the turn, [[GoodIsNotNice Frosty hasn't stopped being "Bad"]].
* AnIcePerson: Literally as a giant snowman.
* IconicItem: His blue top hat. ''C2'', however, is the only game where he doesn't wear it (Frosty used a baseball cap instead).
* IHaveManyNames: Also just referred to as "Frosty" in ''C2: Judgment Clay''.
* IWillFindYou: Frosty is especially interested in seeking and defeating Sumo Santa for the control of North Pole in ''63⅓''.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Especially in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* MascotWithAttitude: Of the ''[=ClayFighter=]'' series, especially in the second game.
* RedBaron: In various games, he's also known as "The Fighting Snowman".
* TheRival: [[EvilTwin Ice]] in ''C2'' and Sumo Santa in ''63⅓''.
* SeriesMascot: Frosty is the emblem character of the series, appearing in all of the box art covers.
** MascotVillain: In ''C1'' given this is before his HeelFaceTurn.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Frosty can shape his own body to attack the opponent, but especially with his Snowball attack. This is especially notorious in ''63⅓'' where he can make ice spikes from his body, transform his hand into a scythe, make ice skates in his feet to slide into the enemy, and even make a "little buddy" out of his head to punch the opponent.
* SignatureMove: The "[[BeTheBall Snowball]]", his only consistent move in the series.
* SlippySlideyIceWorld: Every stage Frosty has in the series is this.
* {{Snowlems}}: Bad Mr. Frosty started out as a Version III Snowlem but progressively became more of an anti-heroic Version I Snowlem as time went on.
* SubbingForSanta: [[http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/snes/b/cf.htm In his C1 ending,]] Frosty makes Santa quit his job and takes his place as the one that kids look forward to for christmas.
-->''Kids now look forward to Christmas from Bad Mr. Frosty.''
** ContinuityNod: The fight for the control of North Pole between Frosty and Sumo Santa appear as backstories between the two for the rest of the games.
* VoiceGrunting: Was mostly quiet in the first game, so he mostly made these.
* YouTalkTooMuch: In almost all the games he gets tired of how mouthy everyone else is.

!!Taffy
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_op7rryj6f21tu022ro3_500_3.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Oh, a wise guy, huh?'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Unknown (''C1''), Creator/TressMacNeille (''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'')
Taffy, like his name implies, is a long, stretchy piece of living yellow taffy. Presumably, his flavor is banana. He is a playable character in the original ''Clayfighter'', ''63⅓'', and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
----
* AnthropomorphicFood: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin As his name implies]].
* TheBusCameBack: Taffy made a brief cameo in ''C2: Judgment Clay'', but he came back in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* TheCameo: He was reduced to this in ''C2: Judgment Clay'''s Mount Mushmore stage, along with the other characters who didn't appear in this game (Blue Suede Goo, Helga, and Bonker (but not Ickybod Clay for some reason)).
* EdibleAmmunition: Being the candyman he is, Taffy attacks you with gumballs in ''63⅓''.
* HeelFaceTurn: According to his bio in the manual for ''63⅓'', like Bad Mr. Frosty before him, he went from a once mean spirited pull of salt water taffy into a model sugar-sweet citizen.
* InSeriesNickname[=/=]RedBaron: "The Candyman."
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Taffy has a move when he moves so fast that it looks like he gets a multitude of arms to the enemy multiple times. In ''63⅓'' also has a super version of this.
* TheRival: Bonker, in both ''C1'' and ''63⅓''. For some very odd reason, Zappa Yow Yow Boyz have him as their RivalFinalBoss in ''Sculpture's Cut'' and vice versa.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: In ''63⅓'' Taffy can transform his hands into a gun to shoot the enemy, which is most notably used as a super move and a claytality.
* ShoutOut: Two of the ''C1'' posters where he appears in have the following references:
** In his [[https://www.badgamehalloffame.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/clayfighter63_magad_03.jpg own poster]], he appeared to be squeezing [[VideoGame/WorldHeroes Fuuma and Janne]].
** In another, [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/fa/89/60/fa8960f8d5ad7ec3a711f241245327dd.jpg his silhoutte against Blue Suede Goo's]] parodies the dragon silhouette of [[Franchise/MortalKombat another game series]].

!!Tiny
[[quoteright:244:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1453249789969.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:244:''Come back and I'll mold you a new face!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RichardEpcar (''C1'' and ''C2'')
Tiny is a huge, muscular character from the original ''Clayfighter.'' He's one of the few characters to return in its sequel, ''C2: Judgment Clay'', though unlike Bad Mr. Frosty or the Blob, who had updated appearances and movesets, Tiny's sprites were just re-used from the previous game. Canonically speaking, he is the official winner of the first ''Clayfighter'' game and had defeated N. Boss.
----
* BaldHeadOfToughness: Apart of bald, Tiny is one of the toughest characters of the franchise.
* BattleCouple: With Helga in her ending.
* DumbMuscle: Not precisely the smartest of the group, but at least he has muscles.
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Butch in ''C2''.
* {{Expy}}: Of various 90s FightingGame wrestlers as [[Characters/StreetFighterII Zangief]] and [[Characters/WorldHeroes Muscle Power]]. He can also can DoABarrelRoll like [[Characters/StreetFighterII Blanka]] can.
* FanAnimation: Tiny has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiekA8mOB4M his own short film]] made in the style of {{Claymation}} which takes place after his ''C2'' ending (where he retires from fighting and gets a job at a fast food restaurant).
* FluffyTheTerrible: A big muscled guy with a dumb face.
* LazyArtist: Due to the constrained time, instead of finishing Lucy the Gorilla for ''C2'', animators just [[LimitedAnimation reused Tiny's sprites from C1]] with almost no changes from the first game.
* ProWrestlingIsReal: And he'll punch you if you say otherwise!
* PutOnABus: He hasn't appeared since ''C2''.

!!Blob (or The Blob)
[[quoteright:205:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blob.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:205:''I'm a human being!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Unknown (''C1'' and ''C2''), Creator/FrankWelker (''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'')
As his name implies, he's a blob of clay (typically green) and a master of "goojitsu". His specialty is morphing into different objects to attack such as a mallet, anvil, plane, and even a buzzsaw. He is one of the few characters to appear in all of the Clayfighter games to date. In the first two games, he had a high-pitched voice and an angry scowl, but in ''63⅓'' he had his voice changed to a Quasimodo-like voice and gained a dopey, but still formidable, attitude.
----
* ActionBomb:
** In ''63⅓'', He can shoot copies of himself as a bomb whilst in cannon form as projectiles, but he also has a claytality where he eats the enemy and then he becomes a bomb and explodes.
** Thanks to hacking the first Clayfighter game, it was discovered that there existed an unused move in C1 where Blob can turn into a bomb and explode which damages both himself and the enemy. This was unlocked in ''Ultra Clayfighter'' as one of his new moves.
* BeTheBall:
** In this case, "Be The Buzzsaw," which is one of the most known forms he can shapeshift into in the series.
** Also "Be The Trophy" as his winpose in ''C1'', "Be The Thumbs Up" in ''C2'', and "Be The Planet Stand" in ''63⅓''.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Blob may have been dumbed down in ''63⅓'', but that doesn't mean he's not lethal.
* BlobMonster: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin This is obvious]].
* CheshireCatGrin: He sports a rather goofy looking one in ''C2''.
* EmeraldPower: A green blob of power (and eventually justice) in the series.
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Slyck in ''C2''.
* {{Expy}}: Despite being more or less inspired by ''Film/TheBlob1958'', he seems to share several traits with ''WesternAnimation/{{Gumby}}'' as well, for they are both made out of green clay and are capable of shape-shifting into essentially anything.
* FanAnimation: Blob appears in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiekA8mOB4M Tiny's short film]] as TheCameo and in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syrTTp1L4tM this animation]]; Both of them are made in {{Claymation}}.
* FakeMuscles: Blob [[HulkingOut hulks out]] in a GrowingMusclesSequence in one of his winposes in ''63⅓''.
* FantasticFightingStyle: Blob mastered "goojitsu", [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveSupernaturalPowers a martial arts involving clay and shapeshifting]], which is later renamed as "morphmation" in ''Sculptor's Cut'' ending.
* GreenAndMean: In his ''C1[=/=]C2'' appearances. Averted in ''63⅓'' where he became friendlier.
* HumanAlienDiscovery: [[spoiler:In his story, Blob thought he was a man mutated by the meteorite, but later in his ending, he discovered he was an alien all the time, coming to Earth with the meteorite itself.]]
%%* IdiotHero: In ''63⅓''.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: One of Blob's most common attacks in the series involves multiple arms that attack the opponent at the same time (in ''63⅓'' they are shown to be long arms carrying batons).
* {{Objectshifting}}: Capable of shapeshifting into inanimate objects to attack the enemy - like anvils, rockets, cars, boxing gloves, bottles, etc.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Blob can shapeshift into anything he wants.
* SwallowedWhole: One of his throws in the first game and ''63⅓'' is putting the opponent in his mouth and holding them in place. In the first game, they struggle to get out; in the third game, he turns into a cannon and shoots them out.
** JustEatHim: 2 of his Claytalities in this game are unique takes on this: One of them involves the Blob converting into a meat grinder and mincing the opponent while the other one has the [[ActionBomb Blob transforming into a bomb and exploding along with the enemy inside him]].
* TookALevelInDumbass: Blob becomes this in ''63⅓''. Some fans believe the crash on Klaymodo left Blob with brain damage.
* WorldSundering: In his [[http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/snes/c/cf2blo.htm C2 ending]], Blob decided to cover the world of clay to reshape it into a [[FlatWorld "Earth Sitting"]]. This is not {{canon}}, but the paradox is in ''63⅓'' where Blob is helping the Clayfighter heroes in stopping Dr. Kiln... who wants to cover the world of clay.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: From serious Blob in ''C1[=/=]C2'' to dopey Blob in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.

!!Blue Suede Goo
[[quoteright:345:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bsg.png]]
[[caption-width-right:345:''Hey watch the hair, man!'']]
Blue Suede Goo is an {{Elvis impersonator}}. He only appears in ''Clayfighter'' and ''Tournament Edition'' as a playable character. He was the most talkative character in the first game, with the second most talkative being Bad Mr. Frosty. Originally, he was going to be called ''Elvis the Impersonator''.
----
* TheCameo: He is reduced to this in ''C2: Judgment Clay'''s Mount Mushmore stage, along with the other characters didn't appear in this game (Bonker, Helga and Taffy (but not Ickybod Clay for some odd reason)).
* CatchPhrase: "Hey! Watch the hair, man!"
* ElvisImpersonator: Even his prototype name was ''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Elvis the Impersonator]].''
* MusicalAssassin: BSG uses musical notes as [[EnergyBall projectiles]].
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Based on Music/ElvisPresley, obviously.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''Tournament Edition'' outside of a cameo in ''C2''.
* PrehensileHair: His haircomb-shaped hair which can be used as a sword to cut the opponent in half.
* PunnyName: Coming from the song ''[[Music/ElvisPresleyTheAlbum Blue Suede Shoes]]''.
* TheRival: To fellow rotund singer Helga.
* YouTalkTooMuch: The most talkative character in the first game, with Bad Mr. Frosty in second place.

!!Ickybod Clay
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/icky.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Welcome to my nightmare!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Unknown (''C1''), Creator/FrankWelker (''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'')
Ickybod Clay is a ghostly ghoul with a pumpkin for a head. He appears in the first Clayfighter and reappears in ''63⅓''. Ickybod Clay aspires to be terrifying and scares whoever he meets.
----
* BedsheetGhost: A light purple one complete with a pumpkin head.
* TheBusCameBack: Ickybod Clay was cut from ''C2: Judgment Clay'' but reappeared in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* {{Expy}}: He's clearly based on aspects of ''Literature/TheLegendOfSleepyHollow'', namely the name ''Ichabod Crane'' and the ''Headless Horseman''.
* GhostlyGoals: Type B; he only wants to scare people.
* IKnowMaddenKombat: Not used in his moves, but in one of his winposes in ''63⅓'', where he uses his own head as a basketball.
* PunnyName: Ickybod Clay is a pun on Ichabod Crane, obviously.
* {{Shotoclone}}: In ''63⅓'', including a [[{{Shoryuken}} "Boo-Hoo Ken"]].
* StingyJack: He has the basic design of a ghost with the pumpkin head.
* TeleportSpam: One of his supers in ''63⅓'', [[https://youtu.be/iUm30V0u794?t=277 where Ickybod Clay repeatedly teleports in front of and behind the enemy, hitting them each time he appears.]]
* VillainTeleportation: Namely from teleporting at will as a special move.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: It was revealed that he could be part of ''C2'' as another recycled character from ''C1'' just like Tiny, but he was left out of the final game.

!!Helga
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helga_6.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Ooohhh ooohhhh!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Melodee Spevack
Helga is a voracious viking woman with a fat stomach who only appeared in ''Clayfighter'' and ''Tournament Edition'' as a playable character. She is the first playable female character to appear in the Clayfighter series. Her stage is the Viking Stage. Her name was originally going to be Val.
----
* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite being completely overweight, Helga is surprisingly agile and strong.
* ActionGirl: One of the only female fighters in the series.
* AssKicksYou: Helga has an attack where she hits the enemy with her huge butt.
* BattleCouple: In her ending. After being given thousands of marriage proposals before having to reach a decision on one of two of the most suitable final options available for her, Helga chose Tiny The Wrestler over [[VideoGame/TheLostVikings Olaf The Stout]], having kids together in the future who became the best wrestlers in the history of opera.
* BlackBeadEyes: She has this, which is prominent in her sprites and her magazine ad and manual appearances.
* BrawnHilda: A classic example in the realm of video games.
* TheCameo: In ''C2: Judgment Clay'''s Mount Mushmore stage, along with the other characters didn't appear in this game (Blue Suede Goo, Bonker and Taffy (but not Ickybod Clay for--well, you see where this is going now, right?)).
* GlassShatteringSound: She uses this as one of her methods of attack.
* HornyVikings: Helga wears a helmet with horns.
* PutOnABus: She never appeared again since ''Tournament Edition'' outside of a cameo in ''C2''.
* TheRival: To the other main singing character Blue Suede Goo.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The only female in the game and the first one in the series.
* StealthPun: The ending credits always have an animation of Helga shouting at the very end. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.
* StoutStrength: One of the first fat and yet equally strong characters from the series.

!!Bonker
[[quoteright:165:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bonker.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:165:''I hope you CHOKE on my jokes!'']]
[[caption-width-right:165:[[labelnote:Click here to see him in the first [=ClayFighter=]]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1631910_bonker.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Unknown (''C1''), Creator/RobPaulsen (''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'')
In the original ''Clayfighter'', he was tall with a six pack, a crazy grin full of sharp teeth, and had a cheerful voice. His attacks included throwing pies, doing cartwheels, and diving into his opponent which would flatten them. A much more subdued Bonker returned in the third chapter of the ''Clayfighter'' saga, despite not appearing in ''C2: Judgment Clay'' outside of a cameo. It is stated that Bonker went insane years ago and is now trying to kill everyone who laughed at him in the past.
----
* TheBusCameBack: Bonker didn't appear on ''C2: Judgment Clay'' outside of a cameo but came back in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* TheCameo: In ''C2: Judgment Clay'''s Mount Mushmore stage, along with the other characters didn't appear in this game (Blue Suede Goo, Helga and Taffy (but not Ickybod Clay for some odd reason)).
%%* DeadpanSnarker: In ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* EdibleAmmunition: In ''C1'' he attacks with a cream pies as his projectile attack.
%%* EinsteinHair
%%* EvilRedhead: This remained the same in every one of his appearances.
%%* FightingClown: Of the series.
* HappyFunBall: In ''63⅓'' Bonker sends his dog-shaped balloon animal "Fifi" to attack the enemy. This is his projectile in both this game and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
%%* {{Mook}}: To Dr. Kiln in ''63⅓''.
* {{Revenge}}: His scheme is to kill everyone who laughed of him in the past, which is ironic considering that he ''IS'' a clown.
* TheRival: Taffy. In ''Sculptor's Cut'', for some odd reason, it is Kung Pow instead.
%%* SadClown: In ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* SeriouslyScruffy: As part of his ''63⅓'' story, Bonker was under a lot of stress, so his doctor recommend that he take a vacation to relax. [[GoneHorriblyWrong Unfortunately, he chose Klaymodo Island without knowing what he was getting himself into...]]
* SlasherSmile: In ''C1'', given that his mouth is full of [[ScaryTeeth razor sharp teeth.]]
* YouDontLookLikeYou: From TheBrute SlasherSmile clown of C1 to The NothingButSkinAndBones DeadpanSnarker of ''63⅓''. Also, he has his clown clothes colored blue and then yellow respectively.

!!N. Boss
[[quoteright:320:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/383800_cf_1.png]]
N. Boss is the final boss of ''Clayfighter''. He looks a lot like a ring of beads with eyes on top. When he loses, he doesn't fall over, he frowns as some of his beads lay on the ground (meaning that his teeth have been knocked out). In his victory pose, he grins in victory.
----
* AdaptationInspiration: Apart of the bug that makes him playable in the first game, N. Boss also can be playable on ''VideoGame/{{MUGEN}}'', even having some versiond with [[Franchise/MortalKombat Claytalities]].
* ComicallyCrossEyed: For some very odd reason, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goOjehgPxuk N. Boss' eyes spin around in the Sega Genesis version of Clayfighter.]]
* DittoFighter: N. Boss throws every projectile of all the characters from the game. But only on SNES versions, in Genesis averts this by throwing silver beads instead of everyone's projectiles.
* FinalBoss: Of the first game (and ''Tournament Edition''.)
* GiantSpaceFleaOutOfNowhere: There's absolutely no foreshadowing about him and his moves mostly consist of throwing copies of everyone else's projectiles.
* IsThatAThreat: He doesn't ''look'' all that tough...
** BewareTheSillyOnes: ...but he can be and pretty much is!
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: N. Boss' design resembles more a standard 16-bit sprite rather than a pre-rendered Claymation sprite like all the other Clayfighters.
* PromotedToPlayable: In {{fangame}}s like ''Ultra Clayfighter'', also in Versus Mode only like the original game with the bug, and in ''VideoGame/ClayFighterInfiniteClayfare'' will be a playable boss in the next Beta 2.
* PunnyName: His name is a poke at [[Characters/StreetFighterII M.Bison]] and the phrase [[FinalBoss "end boss"]].
* PutOnABus: Outside of a mere mention in the manual for ''C2'', N. Boss doesn't appear again after ''Tournament Edition''.
** TheBusCameBack: Thanks to {{fangame}}s like ''Ultra Clayfighter'' and ''VideoGame/ClayFighterInfiniteClayfare''.
* ShoutOut: N. Boss strongly resembles Melon Bread of ''VideoGame/GunstarHeroes'', [[https://i.ibb.co/s10MP83/Screen-Shot-2021-10-11-at-1-00-14-PM.png which is most especially evident when he wins and smiles in victory.]] The only thing he really lacks is a red nose.
* TheVoiceless: The only character that doesn't have voice in the game, not even grunts or something.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Debuting in C2: Judgment Clay]]
!!Nanaman
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nanaman.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Get with the times, mon!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Terrence Stone
Nanaman is a living banana featured exclusively in ''C2: Judgment Clay''. He is very laid-back and of Jamaican descent.
----
* EdibleAmmunition: Nanaman throws sliced banana pieces as his projectile attack.
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Dr. Peelgood.
* FanAnimation: Just like with Tiny, Nanaman also has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4avnGpC0ypQ his own short film]] made in {{Claymation}} which takes place after his ''C2'' ending (where he made a night club where he sings and dances), and has him making a show of his own version of "[[Film/TheMask Cuban Pete]]".
* FoodBasedSuperpowers: Being a literal banana converted into a clayfighter, Nanaman throws banana slices as projectiles and can body slide to reach his opponents.
* IHaveManyNames: Also called just as ''Nana''.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: As a giant banana, he also uses parts of himself as weapons.
* PunnyName: Nanaman is short for "Banana Man".
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* ThisBananaIsArmed: A ''fighting banana''. Enough said.
* YellowPurpleContrast: Nanaman has a yellow outfit, contrasting to Dr. Peelgood's purple, and is the good guy of the living bananas.

!!Octohead
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/octoooo.png]]
[[caption-width-right:300:''You're octogone!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/SteveKramer
Octohead is a purple octopus-like creature who loves to party! He has a total of eight tentacles; four on his head, two on his sides that he uses as arms, and two on the bottom that he uses as feet. His first and only appearance was in ''C2: Judgment Clay''.
----
* CombatTentacles: Octohead fights with his tentacles as if they were hands and feet.
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Jack.
* GiantSquid: Or rather a human-sized octopus, but you get the idea.
* IHaveManyNames: He is also referred to as just ''Octo''.
* LifeOfTheParty: A party animal, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin and quite literally so]]. Octohead lives to party, even to the point where, in his ending, he turns Mudville into the beach party capital of the world.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* SeaMonster: A far more kindly version of this trope compared to his clone.
* WaddlingHead: Is basically all head, with tentacles coming out on the top.

Googoo is a large baby from ''C2: Judgment Clay''. As a very ghetto guy, he plays pool and chills with the ladies.
----
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Spike.
* {{Expy}}: Of WesternAnimation/BabyHuey, but human. Sort of.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's not exactly a saint, but in his ending, he makes Mudville a much better place by providing naptime centers for every citizen of Mudville, resulting in a far friendlier populace than before!
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* SavageSpikedWeapons: His weapon of choice is a deadly-looking spiked rattle.

[[caption-width-right:256:[[labelnote:Click here to see him as T-Hoppy]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hoppy.gif[[/labelnote]]]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Unknown (''C2''), Creator/CharlieAdler (''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'')
Hoppy is a battle bunny with an Austrian accent who used to be a normal rabbit but got ripped in ''C2: Judgment Clay'' after talking to his muscles. Having become "all diesel", apart from ravaging his neighbor's garden, he planned to mop the world with the other clayfighters to become the grandmaster of Mudville.

He made a return appearance in ''63⅓'' where the evil Dr. Kiln found Hoppy mortally wounded from the last game and replaced Hoppy's lost body parts with cybernetic implants and apparently altered his voice somehow, as he now spoke like a stereotypical drill sergeant; however, Hoppy turned on Dr. Kiln afterwards, hoping to destroy Kiln while regaining his own peace of mind (But in ''Sculptor's Cut'', though, Dr. Kiln put some kind of mind control chip in him and made him work for him). In addition to the great physical strength from talking to his muscles and the cybernetic enhancements given to him, he is also an accomplished stage magician.
----
* TheAhnold: He is obviously based on Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger. His [[Creator/CharlieAdler voice actor]] in ''63⅓'' apparently didn't get the memo, though and instead gave him a Southern accent.
* AnimalMecha[=/=]{{Cyborg}}: In ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In ''Sculptor's Cut'', T-Hoppy is captured by Dr. Kiln, who brainwashed him with a control chip and is forcibly made into one of the {{mook}}s of Kiln. He is freed from Kiln's mind control in Boogerman's and Lady Liberty's endings in said game, [[DownerEnding but in his own ending, it doesn't happen.]]
* DrillSergeantNasty: Hoppy became this as T-Hoppy in ''63⅓''.
* EdibleAmmunition: In ''C2'', he throws carrots as his projectile attack. In ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'', it is changed to a projectile attack where T-Hoppy shoots tortilla/nacho chips out of a gun hidden in his mechanical elbow joint.
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Sarge in C2.
* RabbitMagician: In addition to the great physical strength from talking to his muscles and the cybernetic enhancements given to him, T-Hoppy is also an accomplished stage magician. This is seen in a couple of his Claytalities in which he converts his opponent into a carrot ([[JustEatHim and then eats it]]) or a clone of himself (with a [[EnemyChatter heated chat]] that ends with the real T-Hoppy [[MultipleGunshotDeath filling the clone with bullets]]).
* RedBaron: Known in various games as "The Battle Bunny".
* ShoutOut: One of his super combos, namely the "Jack Rabbit, Jack Rabbit, Yippie Coyote" one, resembles [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ken's]] ''Shoryureppa'' with two low jump punches and a final high one.
* TerminatorImpersonator: He was based on [[Characters/{{Terminator}} Terminator T-800]], mainly due to his appearance in ''C2: Judgment Clay'' (in which even the game itself parodied [[Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay the movie]] with Hoppy as one of the protagonists) with TheAhnold look and accent in addition to the muscles, glasses, and motorcycle. And in ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'', he gets converted into a part-cyborg rabbit with some mechanic parts which makes him more of an [[ImplacableMan Implacable Rabbit]].
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: After his {{Cyborg}} change, T-Hoppy turned against Dr. Kiln for what he did to him... that is assuming that he didn't get {{brainwashed|AndCrazy}} by Kiln in ''Sculptor's Cut''.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: One of the returning characters that changed the most in ''63⅓''. Not only is T-Hoppy's physical appearance different, but his voice is different as well.

[[caption-width-right:166:''Crawl back to your momma's pouch!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Joyce Kurtz
Kangoo is a kangaroo from ''C2: Judgment Clay''. She is a boxer (and in fact the World Clay Boxing Association champion) who hates hurting people and only does it because her fans would get mad. She actually wanted to retire, but her fans threatened to lynch her if she did, so she enters the tournament.
----
* ActionMom: Kangoo is a female kangaroo and while she fights has her little baby in her pouch (who also has [[MiniMe boxing gloves like her]].)
* BoxingKangaroo: A rare case of one being in a fighting game.
* EvilTwin[=/=]TheRival: Thunder.
* PutOnABus: She never appeared again since ''C2''.
* ReluctantWarrior[=/=]MartialPacifist: She's the WCBA champion, but she hates hurting people. She's said to use a first-aid kit to patch her opponents up after her matches (which doesn't help much, since she keeps her eyes closed due to hating the sight of spilled clay). Unfortunately, because she has no choice since retiring would mean having her fans lynch her in cold blood, Kangoo has to put her reluctance in fighting behind her and let loose on her opponents for the sake of her own survival!
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: A female kangaroo and the sole female playable character of ''C2'', which essentially makes her the replacement of Helga. It is subverted, however, when you unlock her rival Thunder.

Ice is the evil counterpart of Bad Mr. Frosty and is his final boss (and even his own) in ''C2: Judgment Clay''. His personality isn't too deep. The one trait that he is given is that he hates Bad Mr. Frosty. When you're talking about color, he is coal black (maybe implying he is made out of slush) and has a darker hat.
----
* EvilTwin: Of Frosty.
* AnIcePerson: Just like his twin.
* MadeOfEvil: There's no other reason to live than to hate (and eventually destroy) Frosty.
* MuckMonster: Ice is probably made of slush instead water, which is the reason why he's darker than Frosty. Not to mention that he's an evil clone made by Dr. Kiln.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* SlippySlideyIceWorld: In his ending, he converts the town into a winter wonderland, and even uses [[PersonOfHolding the locals as his personal skiis]].

Butch is the meaner version of Tiny and is his final boss (and even his own) in ''C2: Judgment Clay''. He is just as dumb and at most times has his lower jaw open. His skin is much darker than Tiny.
----
* CombatPragmatist: Unlike Tiny, Butch does not fight fair at all, especially if his projectile attack is an indication.
* DumbMuscle: Even more than Tiny.
* EvilTwin: Of Tiny, but darker than him. [[YouKnowImBlackRight Literally]].
* {{Fartillery}}: Unlike Tiny, he has a projectile attack which involves passing gas.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Even with dumber face than Tiny.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Not so much him, since he's already dumb to begin with, but in his ''C2'' ending, he passes down a law that prohibits anyone in Mudville from being smarter than him.

[[caption-width-right:249:''You won't find the trick to beating Slyck!'']]
Slyck is the evil counterpart of Blob. He appears along with all the other evil counterparts, in ''C2: Judgment Clay''. Thus, he's Blob's final opponent (and even his own for some odd reason). Slyck looks just like the Blob, except he has yellow teeth, yellow eyes and is a different shade of green.
----
* BlobMonster: Just like his twin.
* EvilTwin: Of Blob.
* GreenAndMean: Meaner than Blob.
* NightmareFace: Compared to The Blob's goofy CheshireCatGrin, he frowns and glares in a fairly nightmarish way.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* YellowEyesOfSneakiness: The main difference with Blob is his yellow sclera, which accentuates he's an evil character.

!!Dr. Peelgood

[[caption-width-right:258:''Peeling bad, mon?'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Terrence Stone
Dr. Peelgood is the evil counterpart of Nanaman who appears in ''C2: Judgment Clay'' and is his final opponent (as well as his own). In appearance, he's a purple palette swap of Nanaman. It is likely that he has the least amounts of recycled voice clips out of all of the evil counterparts in the game. Personality wise, he is very mischievous. He also has Nanaman's same Jamaican accent and manner of speech.
----
* EvilTwin: Of Nanaman.
* FoodBasedSuperpowers: Just like Nanaman, Dr. Peelgood uses his own banana origins and powers to his favor.
* PunnyName: His name is based on the titular ''[[Music/MotleyCrue Dr. Feelgood]]'' song.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* ThisBananaIsArmed: A ''fighting banana'' just like Nanaman.
* YellowPurpleContrast: Contrasting Nanaman's yellow banana peel body with purple, he is purple and evil.

Jack is an evil version of Octohead and is thus his final opponent (as well as his own). Unlike the party-going Octohead, he prefers to be alone, and wants to rule the seas.
----
* CombatTentacles: Same as his rival, Jack fights with his tentacles as punches and kicks.
* DeadpanSnarker: The opposite of Octohead.
* GiantSquid: Or rather a human-sized octopus like Octohead before him.
* EvilTwin: Of Octohead.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* RedIsViolent: A dark red variant, but indeed is more violent than Octo.
* SeaMonster: Unlike Octohead, he's a full-blown evil example.

[[caption-width-right:252:''I'm a baaad boy!'']]
Spike is the evil counterpart to Googoo in ''C2: Judgment Clay'' and is thus his final opponent (as well as his own). He is a lot like his rival, only way brattier. He has darker skin, and a purple bonnet and diaper. Some of his quotes are different from those of Googoo's and, if not different, are placed in other animations.
----
* BrattyHalfPint: Googoo isn't a saint, but Spike is far worse than he is in this regard.
* TheBrute: Much more so than Googoo.
* EnfanteTerrible: Compared to Googoo's JerkWithAHeartOfGold personality.
* EvilTwin: Of Googoo.
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* SavageSpikedWeapons: As Googoo, his weapon of choice is a deadly-looking spiked rattle.
* VillainousGlutton: In his own ending, he steals all of Mudville's milk and dairy supplies. This ends up backfiring when he didn't drink the milk fast enough and was left with wondering what to do with all of the cottage cheese.

----
* TheAhnold: Just like his twin.
* EvilTwin: Of Hoppy.
* LaserGuidedKarma: He is the only evil counterpart (other than Spike) to suffer from this in his own C2 ending; After putting an airplane engine on his motorcycle and running all of the vehicles off the road faster than the speed of light, Sarge foolishly threw the engine to its highest gear and landed on the nose of a commercial airliner!
* PutOnABus: He never appeared again since ''C2''.
* TheSpartanWay: Sarge was trained in military unlike Hoppy and got his muscles that way.

Thunder is the evil counterpart of Kangoo and thus serves as her final opponent (as well as her own). She only appears in ''C2: Judgment Clay''. Unlike her rival, she is a bloodthristy and sadistic monster of a kangaroo who loves hurting people.
----
* BloodKnight: Unlike Kangoo, Thunder loves hurting people.
* BoxingKangaroo: Just as Kangoo.
* EvilOverlord: In her ending, she rules Mudville with an iron paw and anyone who breaks some of her laws will pass "three months in her pouch with a stale shellfish."
* EvilTwin: Of Kangoo.
* LaserGuidedKarma: On the receiving end in Kangoo's ending, where Kangoo donates not only her championship belt to the Mudville museum but also her evil and sadistic opponent Thunder as well.
* PutOnABus: She never appeared again since ''C2''.
* RedIsViolent: Even when Kangoo also has the red in her gloves, Thunder represents better this trope being more violent than her counterpart. Indeed, she has a light reddish fur compared to Kangoo.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The other female of the game along with Kangoo.

[[caption-width-right:255:''Egg Fu Young!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/JeffBennett
Kung Pow is a Chinese chef who is also skilled in martial arts, and often times gets the two mixed up. Resembling a bucktoothed Bruce Lee, he wears a white gi and sports a bowl cut. It is said that he used to be Sumo Santa's personal chef and bodyguard until he got fired for serving repulsive meals and his lack of kung fu knowledge. It's also been said that he used to be a cooking show host.
----
* AllChinesePeopleKnowKungFu: Being the only chinese character of the series, this can be appliable here.
* AwesomeButImpractical: One of his two taunts lasts ''10 seconds''. Yes, it's funny and awesome, but leaves you open to an attack, so it's not a good idea to make it during a fight.
* BewareTheSillyOnes[=/=]CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He's not exactly the best when it comes to cooking nor kung fu knowledge, but he is just as strong as the other clayfighters.
* BruceLeeClone: With the FunnyBruceLeeNoises and {{Kiai}}s included. Even one of his Claytalities is the famous FinishingStomp[=/=]GoombaStomp.
* CatchPhrase: "For here, or to go?"
* ChefOfIron: Especially from a guy who's also a martial artist.
* EdibleAmmunition: Kind of invoked, since most of Kung Pow's moves are named after Chinese food dishes.
* {{Expy}}/ShoutOut: Of many characters:
** Of Creator/BruceLee, obviously.
** His [[PunnyName name is a pun]] of "Kung Pao Chicken" and [[Characters/MortalKombat Kung Lao]].
** Kung Pow also has a lot of references to ''Franchise/StreetFighter'':
*** He uses a white martial arts outfit, which is red for the Player 2. This is a reference to [[Characters/StreetFighterI Ryu and Ken]] respectively.
*** Various of his moves are based on this game series: His Kick {{Shoryuken}} move, "Egg Fu Yong", is very similar to [[Characters/StreetFighterII Fei Long]]'s "Shien Kyaku" but without the fire; the pose of "Crane Technique" is very similar to the "[[EnergyBall Hadoken]]" for {{shotoclone}}s; the triple forward kicks move "Chop Suey" resembles [[Characters/StreetFighterAlpha Dan Hibiki]]'s "Dankuukyaku";and the super combo "Lo Mein" looks the same as Ryu's "Shinkuu Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku".
*** More a coincidence than a shout-out is the character El Fuerte from ''Videogame/StreetFighterIV'' series, who's also a cook and a fighter as him, but he's a MaskedLuchador instead of a kung-fu practitioner as Kung Pow. But at least they both coincide in [[LethalChef their repulsive meals]] and [[MartialArtsAndCrafts habits of mixing their fighting and cooking techniques]] in their moveset.
* [[FryingPanOfDoom Frying Wok of Doom]]: Kung Pow uses his ''wok'' to attack the enemy as part of some of his moves, even as a super and a Claytality.
* HeelFaceTurn: He used to work for Sumo Santa, but he is now on the side of justice.
* LethalChef: Kung Pow was fired by Sumo Santa for the repulsive meals he prepared.
* MartialArtsAndCrafts: Mixing Kung Fu and cooking skills.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: A martial artist Chinese food chef.
* RealMenCook: Is probably a better cook than he is a fighter.
* WhatTheFuAreYouDoing: Manages to weaponize this with some of his moves, fumbling his attacks but still hurting the enemy.

[[caption-width-right:273:''You messed with the wrong guy now, eh?'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/{{Jim Cummings|1952}}
Happy Harry Houngan is a character in the Clayfighter series, and first appeared in ''63⅓''. Houngan is an evil Haitian witch doctor and voodoo master, often seen with a rubber chicken as a weapon. He and Dr. Kiln used to be partners before they turned on one another. His name is the term for a Haitian Voodoo priest (even though he has a Jamaican accent).
----
* AlliterativeName: The letter H is repeated three times in his name.
* AxCrazy: In a series filled with mentally unstable characters, Houngan is one of the most maniacal and bloodthirst.
* ClownCarGrave[=/=]NightOfTheLivingMooks: Everytime Houngan summons zombie hands everywhere on the island.
* TheDragon: To Dr. Kiln, assisting him with his experiments.
* DragonWithAnAgenda: Houngan has his own plans about the meteorite in ''63⅓'', but it's subverted in ''Sculptor's Cut'' where he's Kiln's right hand.
* EthnicMagician: A fairly standard HollywoodVoodoo witch doctor.
* {{Expy}}: He could be based on Jobo, the name of ''Videogame/{{Claymates}}'''s BigBad according to its manual, who is also a WitchDoctor who wanted the clay formula to rule the world.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: A rubber chicken, which also can attack in one of Houngan's super moves thanks to the latter's magic.
-->''Chicken Licken!''
* LaughablyEvil: Despite being scary looking, and an evildoer, he is just as silly and laughable as the other clayfighters.
* MagicalNativeAmerican: Subverted, since he comes from Haiti.
* MonsterClown: He looks like an evil voodoo clown who, unlike Bonker before him, uses voodoo magic rather than clown tricks.
* {{Necromancer}}: Houngan can summon zombies (specifically, zombie hands) as seen in one of his super moves and in a Claytality.
* OnlyOneName: Usually known just as Houngan.
* ScaryBlackMan: And sure enough, he is one.
* ShoutOut: In his intro, he rolls his head in 180° and puts it back for the fight, just like in ''Film/TheExorcist''.
* SlasherSmile: All the time, even when he is angry.
* SummonMagic: Voodoo magic to be exact. He can summon zombie hands from the ground. ("Hands of the dead... you lazy clay!")
* WitchDoctor: A voodoo one, certainly.

Initially just wanting to go on vacation at Klaymodo Island, Jim joins Bad Mr. Frosty, Blob, and the other heroes to fight against Dr. Kiln's world domination plans.
----
* TheAce: Both in and out of universe, being an accomplished superhero and regarded as one of the best characters in the game.
* ActionHero: Of his own series.
* CallBack: His taunt as well one of his winposes consists of Jim throwing up his gun with his hand (in his winpose, the gun shoots by itself and gives him an AshFace), which is just like one of his poses without moving for a while in his games.
* CallingYourAttacks: Mostly, other times he just smacktacks the enemy.
* ComedicHero: Just like in his series.
* DropTheCow: Following the BrickJoke of his origin series, Jim has this as one of his claytalities, in which he summons a cow that [[GroundPound ground pounds]] his opponent ''[[https://nichegamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/clayfighter-claytality-earthworm-jim-cow-2015-03-01.jpg literally]]''.
* GuestFighter: While not the first one (since he also appeared in the PC version of ''VideoGame/BattleArenaToshinden'' as a SecretCharacter (and MovesetClone of [[GentleGiant Rungo Iron]]), which is distribuited by Creator/{{Playmates|Toys}}, the same company that distributed ''Earthworm Jim'' games in TheNineties), his appearance in Clayfighter counts as this.
* TheRival: To Boogerman in the original game. In ''Sculptor's Cut'' this was changed to Ickybod Clay as the RivalFinalBoss.
* SecretCharacter: In ''Sculptor's Cut'' via a ClassicCheatCode.
* {{Shotoclone}}: Jim has almost all moves and commands to be stated as this, having an EnergyBall and a {{Shoryuken}} in his moveset.
* ShoutOut:
** One of his super combos resembles [[Characters/FinalFight Guy]]'s ''Bushin Hasoken'' from ''VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha'' series, another GuestFighter in a fighting game.
** Speaking of ''Franchise/StreetFighter'', another super combo resembles Ken's ''Shoryureppa'' with various small EWJ Punches followed with a high one in the end.
* SnakeWhip: Like in his games, his own worm body can be used for some of his basic punches, his one throw, and even as a claytality.

Sumo Santa first appeared in ''63⅓''. Whether he is an evil twin of Santa Claus or even Santa himself depends on the game, but he has nevertheless taken over the North Pole and angered Bad Mr. Frosty. In ''Clayfighter 63⅓'', he wants to take over the world but can't until Dr. Kiln and Frosty are out of the picture. In ''Sculptor's Cut,'' his rivalry with Frosty is still prominent but instead he wants to kick everyone off the island so he and his elves can continue making toys for the children of the world.
----
* AdaptationalHeroism: In ''Sculptor's Cut'', Sumo Santa's only goal is to selflessly continue making toys for all of the good children of the world, despite the fact that he is willing to butt heads with everybody (even his rival Bad Mr. Frosty), [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKA7b_8Psf0 and his ending is one of the more optimistic outcomes because of this!]]
* ArchNemesis: Bad Mr. Frosty, even when he is a good guy they don't get along well.
* AssShove: One of his Claytalities involves him jumping up out of the screen for a moment, before landing ass-first on the opponent, who is then stuck in his rectum. After a few seconds Sumo Santa eventually [[{{Fartillery}} farts him out in pieces]].
* BadSanta: But only in ''63⅓''.
* TheDragon: To Dr. Kiln in the original game.
** DragonWithAnAgenda: Sumo Santa has his own plans to {{take over the world}} apart of Kiln, which is only true in ''63⅓''.
* EvilTwin: He would be this of the real SantaClaus...
** FaceHeelTurn: But is actually more known as the ''real'' Santa Claus. In some moment between the first and third game, his rivalry with Frosty made him evil. In ''63⅓'', this rings true with his secret world domination plans, but in ''Sculptor's Cut'', it is ultimately averted given his far more noble goal in delivering presents to the children of the world without any evil intentions in that game.
* GoombaStomp: One of his moves, which stomps you with his belly, and in one of his Claytalities, [[AssKicksYou he squashes the opponent with his butt]], [[{{Fartillery}} with fatal results]].
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Sumo Santa attacks you with his waistcloth, x-mas gifts, candy dance, and even his own belly.
* SecretCharacter: In both ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'', he is selectable via a ClassicCheatCode.
* SubBoss: In higher difficult levels.
* SumoWrestling: Fittingly so, given his name.
* StoutStrength: He even uses his own belly to attack the opponent.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: In this case, it's FanDisservice.

[[caption-width-right:350:''The Doctor is in!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/CharlieAdler
Dr. Kiln (Or, Doctor Henerik Kilnklein) is a {{mad scientist}} in the very sense of the stereotype. Originally mentioned in the manual of ''C2: Judgment Clay'' as having caused the chaos in the game and creating evil clones of each character, he makes his first in-game debut in ''63⅓'' as the main villain.
----
* ArtificialLimbs: Dr. Kiln replaced his left hand with a mechanical prosthetic one which can transform into a chainsaw, a scalpel, a machine gun and other dangerous things, after he was forced to amputate it when he accidentally touched the goo the meteor emitted which caused it to gain a life of its own.
* BigBad: Of the series in general, taking over N. Boss' role of such after the first game, creating the clones for ''C2'', and then manifestating himself in ''63⅓''.
* BioweaponBeast: Many of the creatures he creates are engineered from just about anything, living or otherwise, for this purpose, though only a few stay under his control.
* CatchPhrase: "The Doctor is in!"
* FinalBoss: In ''63⅓'', [[EasyModeMockery but that is only if you choose Normal difficulty or beyond]]. In ''Sculptor's Cut'', he is the RivalFinalBoss for High Five, but is otherwise not this trope.
* TheGhost:
** He's supposedly the BigBad of the second game (as mentioned in that game's instruction manual), but he didn't appear in person until the third.
** It is recently discovered that he was going to be a character for the game until the idea was scrapped. He even has his own model, which is very different from his ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut'' and has him [[https://clayfighter.fandom.com/wiki/File:1453242125236.jpg looking like a bald man with a brown jacket, brown pants, black gloves, black shoes, and even visible eyes with no glasses on]].
* MadScientist: Complete with the stereotypical hunched back, glasses, and [[HerrDoktor German accent]].
* MonumentalTheft: Dr. Kiln stole the Art/StatueOfLiberty and converted it into Lady Liberty.
* SecretCharacter: In ''63⅓'', who is selectable via a ClassicCheatCode.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: His hand was replaced with that a mechanical one which can transform into just about anything he wants. Mostly, it is seen as a OneHandedShotgunPump.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Most of Kiln's creations rebelled against him, with the only exceptions being his dog Lockjaw Pooch and T-Hoppy in ''Sculptor's Cut'' (and he had to resort to MindControl for Hoppy).

!!VideoGame/{{Boogerman}}
[[quoteright:333:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bman.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:333:''Smell this action!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DanCastellaneta
He appears as a guest character in ''63⅓'' to show up his rival, Earthworm Jim. However, this rivalry was never brought up in either of their own game series. The only reason for this is that they are both from different Interplay games. As with most of the other characters, he came to Klaymodo Island for a vacation, but later became part of TheResistance group against Dr. Kiln.
----
* ActionHero: Of his own game.
* ComedicHero: Alongside Earthworm Jim
* {{Fartillery}}: Various of his farts are used to move faster or as a Claytality where Boogerman [[FartsOnFire burns his opponent with this]].
* {{Gasshole}}: As in his origin game.
* GuestFighter: This is his second appearance after his [[VideoGame/{{Boogerman}} own videogame for Genesis and SNES]].
* ImprobableWeaponUser: As in his game, he uses his own secretions (farts, boogers, etc.) as weapons.
* MeaningfulName: All of his abilities and attacks revolve around gross things, which does indeed include boogers.
* ThePigPen: The most disgusting character in the series (and probably the second one if [=HoboCop=] wasn't scrapped).
* TheRival: To Earthworm Jim, only to ironically be a rival with Lockjaw Pooch in ''Sculptor's Cut'' instead.
* SecretCharacter: In ''63⅓'' and ''Sculptor's Cut''. In both instances, you can unlock him via a ClassicCheatCode in the select screen.
* SubBoss: In higher difficult levels.
* ToiletHumor: His main shtick.

!!Lady Liberty
[[quoteright:238:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/liberty.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:238:''Time to liberate ya!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TressMacNeille
Lady Liberty is the Art/StatueOfLiberty brought to life by Dr. Kiln, but she rebelled against her creator and decided to fight for [[ForGreatJustice truth, justice, and the American way]] instead. She has the only command throw in the entire series, the "Liberty Bell." She also uses her torch as a flamethrower and can launch needles from her crown at her foe.
----
* BattleCouple: With T-Hoppy in her own ending after freeing him from Kiln's MindControl.
* ButchLesbian: Not esentially a lesbian, but she has the whole stereotype, which includes short hair and muscles.
* ForGreatJustice: Being the American icon she is, Libby fights for truth, justice, and the American way, being this the main reason why she rebelled against Dr. Kiln.
* InSeriesNickname: Stated in the manual and her ending as "Libby".
* LadyOfWar: A heroic Lady Of War with a good cause, that is.
* LivingStatue: Quite obviously, considering that she is the Art/StatueOfLiberty.
* OneOfTheBoys: Considered as this for the rest of the characters in the game.
* PlayingWithFire: Lady Liberty uses her own torch as a flamethrower.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The only woman in ''Sculptor's Cut'', taking on the trope after Helga from ''Clayfighter'' and Kangoo (and not counting Thunder) from ''C2''.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Lady Liberty is another one of Kiln's creations that turned against him.
* WeaponizedLandmark: She is ''THE'' Art/StatueOfLiberty who had been claymized by Dr. Kiln.

!!Lockjaw Pooch
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lock01.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:200:''My bite is definitely worse than my bark'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/FrankWelker (barks and growls) and Creator/DanCastellaneta (voice)
Lockjaw Pooch is a vicious junkyard dog who granted intelligence from Dr. Kiln's experiments. He is ever loyal to his master, unlike most of the other creations by Dr. Kiln. He was declared dead in ''63⅓'', but became playable in ''Sculptor's Cut''.
----
* AngryGuardDog: An especially monstrous AxCrazy one.
* BackFromTheDead: He was reported to be dead by the programmers of the game in ''63⅓'' only to be [[{{Revenge}} back with a vengeance]] for ''Sculptor's Cut''.
-->''This animal was severely hurt in the making of this game. Rest in peace, Lockjaw.''
* BioweaponBeast: And the only one still loyal to him.
* BloodKnight: Lockjaw lives to attack others that dare try to attack his own master...which is ironic considering that it is possible for Lockjaw to fight him anyway.
* CanineCompanion: To Dr. Kiln.
* CoversAlwaysLie: Appearing in the cover made us think he could appeared in ''63⅓'', which didn't happen.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Even when he didn't appear in ''63⅓'' as a playable character, Lockjaw appeared to be fighting T-Hoppy in the game cover and after beating the game in any difficulty with the message above after being killed by T-Hoppy.
* FaceHeelTurn: Maybe he wasn't so bad in the past, but after being mutated as a Clayfighter, [[GoneHorriblyRight Lockjaw became REALLY bad]] as is stated in his ''Sculpter's Cut'' story:
-->''This is one dog who is {{bad to the bone}}!''
* FunnyAnimal: He can stand in his two back feet and talk like a human, which is all thanks to the meteorite.
* {{Mook}}: To Dr. Kiln, who is both his master as an owner and master as an evil mastermind.
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: The only Dr. Kiln's creation that is still loyal to him.
* PostApocalypticDog: Lockjaw survived clay radiation and is still kicking asses.
* TheRival:
** Supposedly, [[https://www.unseen64.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/clayfighter-64-beta-867676.jpg Lockjaw and Hobocop are meant to be rivals]], but after Hobocop was scrapped, his SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute Boogerman took his place as Lockjaw's rival in ''Sculptor's Cut''.
** And even before that, stated in ''63⅓'' in the cover and in the "Rest in peace Lockjaw" screen after finishing the game, T-Hoppy should be his rival in this game. Instead, that idea was scrapped mostly because T-Hoppy in ''Sculptor's Cut'' was {{brainwashed|AndCrazy}} by Dr. Kiln becoming one of his {{mook}}s and eventually an ally to Lockjaw.
* [[WasOnceAMan Was Once a Dog]]: He was once Dr. Kiln's pet bull terrier, but had been mutated by the meteorite goop into the monstrosity he is now.
* UrineTrouble: One of his attacks was supposed to be Lockjaw peeing on his opponent. This idea was quickly scrapped early on because of censorship.

!!Zappa Yow Yow Boyz
[[quoteright:161:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zap035.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:161:''Get off our island!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/FrankWelker
The Zappa Yow Yow Boys are the cannibalistic natives on Klaymodo Island. They first showed up in ''Sculptor's Cut''. Instead of one person, they are three kids standing on each others shoulders with a shared life bar. Their only determination is get everyone off of their island, understandably believing them to be invaders who are causing a ruckus! Houngan hates them, but this is only stated. Their rival is Taffy. Their home stage is the Tribal Tower.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: The three Boyz are colored with different skin colors (not normal ones, by the way).
* CannibalClan: The Boyz come from a native cannibal tribe of Klaymodo.
* IAmAHumanitarian:
** One of their attacks, or claytalities, which have involved cooking the opponent with a large cauldron before eating them, but that was scrapped early on in development. As a sort of DevelopmentGag, two of their Claytalities involve said large cauldron, but it is used to squash the opponent flat or as a case of it backfiring on them as it tries to squash them instead, forcing them to run like hell while the opponent is unscathed!
** There's another claytality where the three of them attacks the opponent in a BigBallOfViolence just to finish with the three of the Boyz only with a "tadaaa!", which is implied that they JustEatHim in that claytality.
* IHaveManyNames: The three {{mook}}s are called ''Fofo'' (top), ''Gling'' (middle) and ''Kapu'' (bottom).
* [[IconicItem Iconic Stage]]: The ''Tribal Tower'', which is a tower of giant tribal drums and is the highest point on the island. This is Boyz's stage and it was programmed since the beginning in the game, but since the Boyz weren't part of the final release, the stage is still available as a ''63⅓'' versus stage in the Secret Options via a ClassicCheatCode.
* ProtectThisHouse: Zappa Yow Yow Boyz consider the rest of Clayfighters as invaders, so they will fight them to protect their homeland, no matter if they're good or bad.
* TheRival: Supposedly, they are this to Houngan, since he hates them, but they are the rival of Taffy for ''Sculptor's Cut'' instead for some odd reason.
* RuleOfThree: The three kids are fighting as one character and are stacked on top of each other.
* RollingAttack: The Boyz throw one of their partners to damage the enemy. And there is a super version where the three roll together to cause more damage.
* ShoutOut: The green boy of the trio reminds FrankensteinsMonster, not just for being {{green|AndMean}} but the face seems modeled like him.
* TrueNeutral: The Zappy Yow Yow Boyz are neither good nor evil since they are neither on the side of the Heroes nor the Villains. All they want to get everybody off of their island since they are more or less trespassing.

!!High Five
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hifi00.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:100:''Peace, man!'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TressMacNeille
High Five is a mutated giant hand who used to be one of Dr. Kiln's hands before it got mutated by the clay meteor and gained sentience (and a gender) on its own. Since that time, he is on the warpath against the evil doctor. He is playable as a secret character in ''Sculptor's Cut''. He appears to be unfinished because he has one super combo and no Claytalities.
----
* BodyHorror: A giant hand with bleeding arteries and open flesh.
* CreepyGood: A creepy giant hand with clearly visible cut wounds and blood though he may be, he is a virtuous giant hand with a strong sense of justice!
* CreepyLongFingers: Coming from a giant mutated hand, this is obvious.
* {{Expy}}: Of Thing T. Thing from ''Series/TheAddamsFamily''.
* {{Gorn}}: He's the only character who can be seen with his arteries and spills of blood showing in his SpinAttack.
* HelpingHands: He is a heroic hand who is willing to fight the evil Dr. Kiln and his men alongside the other heroes, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PliqaawmFIc which is most especially evident with his ending.]]
* HurricaneOfPuns: As his name suggest, High Five mostly [[TalkToTheHand talks with hand]] {{pun}}s.
* OrganAutonomy: Thanks to the mutation from the clay meteor.
* PerpetualBeta: High Five was released unfinished, with various incomplete basic punches and kicks, no throws, no variations of his moves, just 1 super move and no Claytalities. Maybe for these reasons, he became a SecretCharacter unlockable by a code.
* PowerFist[=/=]PowerPalms: High Five himself is a giant hand.
* {{Revenge}}: Against his evil master Dr. Kiln.
* SecretCharacter: Unlockable via a ClassicCheatCode in the select screen.
* TalkToTheHand: Literally, since High Five also has a voice (and a high-pitched one at that).
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: High Five was Dr. Kiln's severed hand that had been mutated into a large and sentient being by the clay meteor. Fittingly, he holds deep hatred towards his former host.
* ViewerGenderConfusion: Is referred to as a "he", but his [[Creator/TressMacNeille voice actor]] is female (and using a high-pitched voice, at that).

[[folder:Cancelled Characters]]
!!Lucy the Gorilla
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucyjump.jpg]]
Lucy the Gorilla was meant to appear in ''C2: Judgment Clay'' but was taken out due to time constraints. Actual gameplay of her can be seen in the C2 trailer where she is fighting Tiny.
----
* GentleGiant: One of the only details of her personality is she was kindly.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal[=/=]AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Lucy only wears a skirt and a hair tie..
* ReplacementGoldfish: Tiny was supposed to be the replacement of Lucy, but decades later, it is revealed that she only didn't get in the game because of schedule constraints and not for being replaced by Tiny. [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/clayfighter/images/b/b8/NP_Issue066_PakC2.PNG/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20180510043528 A magazine scan for ''C2'' proves that this is the case!]]
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: In addition to her name, the skirt and the hair tie clearly states that Lucy is a female gorilla.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: As with all of the characters in ''C2'', Lucy probably would have gotten her own EvilTwin if she wasn't scrapped, which would have meant more characters for the game.

!![=HoboCop=]
[[quoteright:303:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hobocop.gif]]
[=HoboCop=] was an idea for a character in ''Clayfighter 63⅓'', but cut from the final version for many reasons, with the most well-believed being that he was too controversial. In early screen shots for ''63⅓'', [=HoboCop=] was said to use attacks based on alcohol as well as flashing his genitals. However, like many other fighters in this beta, attacks like this were probably removed. Although there were other characters that did not appear in ''63⅓'', [=HoboCop=] was the only one that didn't return in ''Sculptor's Cut''.

In April 2021, a very early development version of ''Clayfighter Extreme'' was found and released to the Internet, with [=HoboCop=] still a playable character. While this particular build is very glitchy and crash-prone and doesn't actually have much gameplay implemented, [=HoboCop=]'s full sprite sheet was extracted from it.
----
* AdaptationInspiration:
** For the 2019 AprilFoolsDay, [=HoboCop=] was "[[http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/clayfighters-hobocop-released-186388.0.html recreated]]" for VideoGame/{{MUGEN}} by the author Basara-kun as if [[BaitAndSwitch he was ripped]] from ''[=ClayFighter=] Extreme'' beta while, in reality, being ripped from old gaming magazines screenshots and gameplay videos from the beta and with the voice of Franchise/{{Shrek}}. As the author said it himself: "this is probably the only chance for all of us to play with [=HoboCop=] for real, or a recreation about how he would be for CF games."
** With the complete rip of [=HoboCop=] sprites from ''Extreme'' leaked beta, the author considered making him as a proper character to be included in his {{fangame}} ''VideoGame/ClayFighterInfiniteClayfare'', but development on that game was discontinued because of a cease and desist from Interplay.
* TheAlcoholic: His profile says that he likes alcohol (not to mention that he carries a bottle in his hand at all times).
* BackStory: Unlike Lucy, [[http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/clayfighter/images/9/99/Clayfighter-64-hobo-cop-01.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110925025816 HoboCop did have one.]]
* CamelCase: His name is written as one word, but with a capital "C" in the middle.
* DrunkenMaster: He even has a bottle in his hand.
* {{Expy}}: Of ''Franchise/{{Robocop}}'', obviously.
* GarbageWrestler: Literally.
* GrailInTheGarbage: Despite his appearance (and being homeless), he's a cop with a sense of justice.
* {{Hobos}}: ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.
* ThePigPen: Even more than Boogerman.
* ReplacementGoldfish: As Lucy in ''C2'', Earthworm Jim was known as the replacement of [=HoboCop=] in ''63⅓'', which later was unveiled that Jim was to be included in the game anyway before [=HoboCop=] was cancelled.
* StoutStrength
* TrashOfTheTitans: He's literally a guy who uses trash as his armor.
* UseYourHead: [=HoboCop=] got a couple of headbutt attacks.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Being discovered as a character in the roster of ''Clayfighter Extreme'' beta for Platform/PlayStation and even having [[https://www.spriters-resource.com/playstation/clayfighterextremeprototype/sheet/152810/ a complete sprite sheet of his own]] (courtesy of Folkin and Raccoon Sam of The Spriters Resource) hints that he could have been an exclusive character in that game if it had been finished.
