%% [[caption-width-right:300:some caption text]]

A fae who was banished from his homeworld, Avalon, in the past. While passing through the Boiling Isles, he took an interest in Luz's life and became one of her friends. He ultimately perished at Emperor Belos' hands in the Book 1 finale only for it to turn out that said death was only temporary: Puck's body was reconstituted in the Forest of Fear and he fell under the Inner Demon's control, becoming his unwitting ally.
----
%%* AdaptationalJerkass
* AmnesiacHero: When Amity and Luz first meet him, Puck is unable to recollect most of his past. Even after remembering that he's Peter Pan, he is unable to remember his life before Neverland until much later. His abuse at the hands of his step-father is revealed to have contributed to these memory issues.
* ArcVillain: Thanks to the Inner Demon's DemonicPossession, Puck acts as this on the Boiling Isles side of the "Human Realm" Arc.
* ApologyGift: As a way to make up sending her friends to Earth and tormenting everyone as the Shapeshifter, Puck gives Luz the portal key, which the Inner Demon had him recover from the Forest of Fear so she can complete her portal door.
* BullyHunter: Puck often messed with anyone who messed with his friends; however, he messes with whoever he sees as jerks before they can even cause trouble, which leads to them getting severely hurt.
* ButNowIMustGo: After all the trouble he's caused in the Boiling Isles both before and after the Inner Demon's possession, Puck resolves to leave the Demon Realm permanently in Chapter 83: "How to Save a Life".
* CanonCharacterAllAlong: Near the end of Book 1, Puck reveals to Amity that he's the one and only Peter Pan, and his adventures in Neverland were real, too.
* CharacterDeath: He's KilledOffForReal in "The Rescue" by Emperor Belos as he sees the Fae as a threat to the Boiling Isles. Being a Fae, he bounces back from it only to fall under the Inner Demon's command.
* CompositeCharacter: He is eventually revealed to not just be Peter Pan, but the Indian boy from ''Theatre/AMidsummerNightsDream'' as well.
* CrazyPrepared: Puck kept an iron dagger on him in case Anu Bist ever came after him. His hunch pays off when Anu Bist tries to bring him in to Oberon.
* DemonicPossession: As "Chapter 83: How to Save a Life" shows, he's been under the control of the Inner Demon since his resurrection and forced to act on his orders.
* TheDragon: As the "Shapeshifter", he becomes the Inner Demon's new ally after he abandons Dolly Tempus and carries out his plans in the physical world.
* TheEmpath: He can calm down a rampaging Slitherbeast just by listening to its emotions.
* {{Foil}}: To Mel/Melonie. Both are Fae who've never grown up, cause trouble everywhere they go, and didn't take responsibility for their actions. However, Puck has gone through a lot of Character Development and accepted his role in several things (mainly how his actions affected his friends), while Mel thrives on making things worse for shits and giggles. This is especially displayed for Amity, who Puck feels guilty for over making her life more difficult while Mel enjoys it.
* {{Foreshadowing}}:
** Throughout Book 1, there are several hints that Puck is Peter Pan.
*** His shadow is alive and able to separate itself from him, just like Peter Pan.
*** He starts calling Amity "Pixie Dust", because she subconsciously reminds him of Tinker Bell.
*** In "Exams to Survive" he remembers once being able to fly, which is revealed to be true when he remembers that he was capable of it.
*** Just like Peter Pan, Puck tends to use a knife as his main weapon.
*** In "Maternal Aspirations" his attention is drawn to one of the books Amity got from the human realm, namely her copy of Peter Pan.
** The hints that he was the Shapeshifter are as follows: he made the Slitherbeast cave (a location he knew of) his base, he used Fae dust to turn Dolly into a doll, and he stranded Amity, Willow and Gus on Earth instead of killing them because they're Luz's closest friends, so he knows how much they mean to her.
* ForgottenFallenFriend: Averted. Luz and Amity refuse to forget Puck following his death, using their friendship with him as a reminder to not carry grudges against the rest of their friends. Amity even decides to take his last name as her own after becoming nameless.
* TheGhost: He's frequently mentioned or alluded to in Book 2, his friends seeing him in a positive light while everyone else views him as a menace.
* HappilyAdopted: He was this by Titania before Oberon kidnapped him.
* IHaveManyNames: Puck was once known as "The Boy Who Never Grew Up".
** His birth name is Kumar.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold
* KarmicTrickster: He acts as this whenever he goes after people who mess with his friends, but comes off as a BullyHunter as a result.
* KilledOffForReal: He dies fighting Belos while trying to help Amity save Luz and her family at the end of Book 1.
* LivingShadow: He had one until be banished it for keeping him in the dark about his past. Baron Samedi later used it to bring Camila back to life and while the Inner Demon forces Puck to reclaim her, she separates from him once he's free of his possession.
* TheNicknamer: He also has this habit, although he only gives them to his friends.
* OddFriendship: He befriends ''Hooty'' of all characters. To a lesser extent, he also gets along with Luz (rebel, troublemaker and fellow BullyHunter) and Amity (self-conscious rich girl with lots of trauma under her belt).
* OlderThanTheyLook: With the revelation that he is the Indian boy from ''Theatre/AMidsummerNightsDream'', Puck may have born as far back as the 12th century BC despite the fact that he looks no older than a teenager in the present day. All of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Oberon and his time in Neverland stunted his growth.
* PsychoKnifeNut: Averted. He wields an iron dagger out of self-defense. It really fits since Peter Pan also wielded a dagger as his main weapon. Played straight while he was under the Inner Demon's control.
* RaceLift: "The Girl Who Never Grew Up" reveals that Puck was originally a human born to an Indian woman, which means that Peter Pan is actually Indian.
* RealAfterAll: He eventually reveals to Amity that he's Peter Pan and his exploits in Neverland were real, too.
%%* Really700YearsOld
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: He ended up losing his life just to save Luz and her family: she forgives him at the funeral she holds for him, but his revival subverts it '''hard'''.
* ReducedToDust: After Belos stabs him in the heart, his body turns into dust. It's subverted when he reforms a little while later.
* SacrificialLion: Belos kills him in the Book 1 finale to show that the Emperor of the Boiling Isles is not to be taken lightly. Again, it's subverted since he can't die.
%%* {{Shapeshifting}}
* SpannerInTheWorks: Puck's actions have ultimately led to as much good as they've caused harm.
** His messing with Boscha, while resulting in Luz and Amity's breakup, Luz and Eda's capture and near-petrification, and Amity becoming half-Fae, resulted Boscha's HeelFaceTurn, Amity denouncing her forced dream of joining the Emperor's Coven, and giving Amity the chance to prove her love for Luz.
** Sending Amity, Willow, Gus, and Eve to the Human Realm was the best possible thing he could've done and giving Luz the portal key topped it off. Luz was able to reunite with her friends and the Pines family plus meeting her godfamily, the former Gatesfieldians were able to leave Gatesfield, and the Clawthornes and their allies would come to discover the threat Department A poses to their realm rather than being left in the dark about them.
* {{Transplant}}: To reiterate, he's the real WesternAnimation/PeterPan.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom:
** While possessed, by stranding Eve, he ended up creating the Grim Goblin.
** As Boscha notes in "Resolutions", every bad thing that's happened to Luz, Amity, and her can be traced back to Puck messing with her before the petrification ceremony. That's why she refuses to forgive him for his actions.
* UnwittingPawn: Being possessed by the Inner Demon led to him becoming this, as the Demon used his body to appear in the physical world.
* WalkingSpoiler: He's the Fae who turns out to be the Shapeshifter; thus, he's the one who stranded Amity, Gus, Willow and Eve in the Human Realm.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Anu Bist/Jack]]
!!!Anu Bist/Jack the Genie
The former teacher of the Detention track. Half jackal, half genie, all Trickster Demon, he's a distant grandson of Anubis who encouraged his students' mixed-magic abilities and takes an interest in Luz and her capabilities.
----
* BenevolentGenie: Along with being the son of a djinn, Anu Bist is a trickster demon which thrive on causing mischief and chaos. However, he genuinely wishes to teach his students, encourages their mixing magic and wants to help them find their inner strength.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler:Once he recovered from his injuries, Jack left the Demon Realm to resume his genie duties in the Human Realm.]]
* ComicallySerious: He's a trickster demon; he loves telling riddles and causing mischief. This doesn't mean he doesn't take his teaching job seriously.
* CoolTeacher: He was the first teacher at Hexside to support the troublemakers' desires to study more than one track and helped them cultivate their talents so they could impress Principal Bump and he'd make the multi-track program official.
* DivineParentage: His mother was a djinn and his father a trickster demon and death god. Pretty much divine ''ancestry'' since he's a descendant of Anubis.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: [[spoiler:He starts to go through masters after becoming a genie again. Chapter 107: "Resolutions" shows that his current master was Darryl [=McGee=], and he finds himself sticking in Brighton for the time being with Molly and Scratch.]]
* LargeHam: Definitely. He performs a lot of flashy impersonations and generally wacky antics; perks of being a trickster god.
* MeaningfulRename: He resembles an anthropomorphic jackal and he decides to rename himself "Jack", which is also a common name for trickster and rebel archetypes in fairy tales and folklore.
* NoodleIncident: He's arm wrestled against a Yule Cat, a Cerberus, and the Sphinx. He also fought Emperor Belos at some point, but lost because the Emperor knew his weakness to iron.
* PutOnABus: [[spoiler:He was severely injured by Belos at the end of Book 1 and had to return to his lamp to recover while Kitsuni substituted for him at Hexside. He eventually recovered and [[TheBusCameBack returned]] in Chapter 53, but only stayed long enough to say goodbye to his students before becoming a born-again genie. Jack would eventually return in Chapter 105: "Way Down to Mel's Town" when Puck recruits him to help stop Mel.]]
%%* SemiDivine
* ShipTease: He gets a decent amount with Kitsuni, given how they shared a dance in her first appearance and she met with him [[spoiler:right after he healed from his injuries sustained from fighting Belos.]]
* ShoutOut: With his blue and red color scheme, black hair, and LargeHam personality, Jack's pretty much the LC equivalent of [[WesternAnimation/{{Aladdin}} Genie]] [[spoiler:(who would eventually become part of the cast.)]]
* TricksterMentor: He's a natural fit in this category, his lessons towards his students having some kind of hidden meaning.
* WeWillMeetAgain: [[spoiler:Before leaving the Isles to resume his genie duties, he assures Luz there's a chance she'll see each other again someday.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Pied Piper]]
!!!The Pied Piper
Currently known as Sly, he's a Fae who visited the Boiling Isles centuries ago during the Savage Ages. When the witches of the Boiling Isles refused to honor their deal, the Piper got even by stealing away an entire generation of witchlings.
----
* TheFairFolk: The Piper is a particularly infamous example of the Fae.
* FallGuy: [[spoiler:He ended up becoming this over the Collector kidnapping the witchlings.]]
* TheGhost: The closest he's gotten to an onscreen appearance in Book 1 is his depiction on a tapestry.
* GoodAllAlong: [[spoiler:Chapter 66 reveals that he wasn't actually the one who took a generation of witchlings during his last visit to the Boiling Isles.]]
* IHaveManyNames: According to Puck, like all Fae he changes his name a lot. Apparently most recently, he goes by Sly (a ShoutOut to ''WesternAnimation/TheElectricPiper''.)
%%* RedemptionQuest
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He's only mentioned in two chapters in the first book, but his [[spoiler:initially alleged]] actions are one of the main reasons why the Fae are banned from the Isles and unintentionally led to the creation of Abominations. Generations after his original visit to the Boiling Isles, his impact can still be felt.
* UnseenNoMore: [[spoiler:He appears in the flesh near the end of Chapter 62.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Miss Heinous]]
!!Ms. Heinous/Meteora Butterfly
The recently hired Beast-Keeping teacher at Glandus High. As it turns out, she was actually acting as a spy for [[spoiler:Lord Oberon]] until she learned of her origins as the half Mewman/half monster daughter of Eclipsa Butterfly and Globgor and deserted him.
----
* AdaptationSpeciesChange: She goes from a half-mewman, half-monster to being one-third [[spoiler:Fae]] on top of those.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Ms. Traveler reveals in "The Glandus War: What is it Good For?" that [[spoiler:Oberon]] took her from her parents, Eclipsa and Globgor, when she was an infant.
* FinalBoss: [[spoiler:Once Emily goes down, she serves as the last person Luz and Amity have to face in the school war.]]
* TheMole: She's working as one for [[spoiler:Oberon]] so she can eliminate his enemies during the school war.
* {{Transplant}}: She joins the cast as another character from ''WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil'' to appear.
[[/folder]]

!!!Queen Titania

* TheGhost: Has yet to make a physical appearance.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Collector]]
!!!The Collector
A particularly powerful and dangerous Fae that was sealed away by Oberon and Titania.
----
* AdaptationalSpeciesChange: They're made a fae in the ''Luz Clawthorne'' timeline.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:They're actually the one responsible for the lost generations, and the real reason why Fae are banned from the Boiling Isles.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Maleficent]]
An evil Fae, she was once one of Oberon's followers until he turned his back on her.

----
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: According to WordOfGod: after being cast into the River Styx, Hades mellowed out considerably and thus gave up his plans to rule the cosmos.
* AdaptationalJobChange: To keep a closer eye on him, the other Olympian Gods put someone in charge of the Underworld while he was in the River Styx. By the time he got out, he had to become co-ruler: [[{{Understatement}} he was not happy]].
* AllThereInTheManual: The authors have confirmed that Hades has encountered [[spoiler:Cups and Mugs]] before and that he knows Baron Samedi.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: Not only does he have to share his job with someone, he now has an ex-wife and kid who are implied to not respect him either. He also isn't happy when other people aren't impressed by him, as seen when Luz tells him he's not the first god she's met.
-->"Ugh, kids these days. They can never be pleased."

----
