-> '''Voiced by''': Creator/ErinFitzgerald.

Daughter of [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen the Evil Queen]]. The other focal character and the Rebel to Apple's Royal. Unhappy with being tagged as a villain just for being born from one, Raven decides the unthinkable: renounce her legacy and write her life as she chooses.
----

* AffectionateNickname: Her mother calls her Blackbird and Birdy.
* BadPowersGoodPeople: She has dark magic but is actually a good person. The books also stated that when she tries to use her magic with ''good'' intentions in her mind, this backfires badly (but it seems that this aspect of her powers has gone away after she refused to sign the book on Legacy Day).
* BatmanGambit: She pulls off one in Dragon Games. By pretending to return to her mother's side, she gets Faybelle angry enough to turn on the Evil Queen and help recapture her. Which is what Raven wanted from the start.
* BlessedWithSuck: She possesses some impressive magic ability, but, unfortunately, can only perform black magic. Her attempts at good magic only backfire. As a child, she was able to use her magic for good, but one day it [[GrowingUpSucks suddenly changed on her]]. After [[spoiler:she defaces the Storybook of Legends]], she is able to use her magic for whatever she wants again, thanks partially to getting her hands on some banned books in a website game storyline.
* CharacterDevelopment: At the start of the series Raven refuses her destiny because she sees nothing good about it, but as the series goes on we see that by denying it she is also denying herself. Thinking that if she accepted even a piece of it, like her powers, she would not be able to stop herself from becoming a full copy of her mother. Slowly, but surely she comes to understand that its not the destiny or powers that made her mother so evil but the person underneath, and that Raven can accept herself.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Purple hair and eyes.
* DaddysGirl: Established as this in the books, probably because her dad is literally TheGoodKing and her mother is [[PhantomZonePicture trapped in a mirror]] for her crimes.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Not that anyone will believe her.
* DeadpanSnarker: She tends to make rather sarcastic remarks, usually toward Apple.
* DetectEvil: Everyone seems to have it permanently on when they're around her.
* TheDreaded:
** Everyone knows she's meant to be the next Evil Queen, and as she's grown older and an evil aura surrounds her, they've gone from picking on her for it to suddenly running away in fear. Although no one seems to actually ''hate'' her; they just accept her role as a villainess as her lot in life.
** She's TheDreaded for another reason. Headmaster Grimm firmly believes that not carrying out the fairy tales as they are told risks [[RetGone erasing them and possibly the entire fantasy world from existence]]; if he's right, Raven's refusal would be far worse than just going along with the "poison Apple" bit.
* DrivenByEnvy: She tries to ''not'' become this, like her mother. Whenever she's admiring Apple's physical perfection, she has to snap herself out of it, reminding that comparing herself to Snow White was what drive her mother into evil.
* DrunkOnTheDarkSide:
** While preparing for Legacy Day in the book series, she briefly understands why her mom said EvilFeelsGood and ''almost'' accepts her destiny. It's only talking to [[MoralityChain Dexter]] that snaps her out of it.
** [[spoiler:When Raven gains her full power by signing the book in animated series, she nearly kills Courtly Jester due to the effect on her mind.]]
* FatalFlaw: As a girl who follows her heart, Raven is prone to impulsiveness and choosing gut feelings over reason.
* {{Foil}}:
** Raven is Apple's complete opposite, artistic and somewhat cynical to Apple's book smarts and optimistic attitude. Raven would rather have a little chaos and thinking on the fly where Apple would prefer order and a well thought out plan. Becomes a plot point starting in season three as the two butt heads on what should and shouldn't go into the Year Book.
** The trope also comes into play with the girls' CharacterDevelopment. Raven starts the series completely against her destiny and thoroughly believes there is no good reason to ever accept it, a true Rebel. But as the series has gone on, Raven is shown a few times that not only can destiny not be denied, those she loves and care about depend on her accepting it. She has gone from being a Rebel, to learning what it means to be a Royal.
** This is even shown in the pairs' [[BestFriend [=BFF=]]]s. Both of Apple's friends make more sense as Rebels due to their personal desires, while Raven's make more sense as Royals due their desire to [[BecauseDestinySaysSo embrace their destinies]].
* FreakyFashionMildMind: Raven definitely has the look of a dark enchantress down, to the point that she looks like she could be a part of sister franchise ''Toys/MonsterHigh'', but she is one of the most normal and well-adjusted characters personality wise.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: Has purple as her theme color.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: Her mother is quite infamous, and ''she'' suffers for it.
* GorgeousGarmentGeneration: An accidental outburst of magic from Raven creates Blondie's ''Just Sweet'' costume.
* GothGirlsKnowMagic: Her fashion style is quite gothy and she can use dark magic.
* GrowingUpSucks: She used to have benign magic when she was a child, but one day it flipped on her and now she's only able to use dark magic.
* HighCollarOfDoom: She wears a [[FluffyFashionFeathers white feather cape]] with a high collar, in a way indicating that she's not the villain she's made to appear to be.
* IAmNotMyMother: She's trying to convince others of this, but most of them won't hear of it. [[spoiler:This is later changed in the animated series as her new control of her powers have begun to make others see she's not evil.]]
* InTheBlood: One reason people fear Raven is that she has the charisma and hot temper of her mother- they both want the world to change, and aren't shy about showing it.
* {{Irony}}: She doesn't want to accept her legacy and sign the Storybook of Legends. In ''Way too Wonderland'', [[spoiler:she had no other option than to sign the ''real'' book. The one that didn't want to was the first, and for now only, one to accept her destiny.]]
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Although she's not evil she has the dark and elegant fashion of an EvilSorceress, is usually calm and composed, and can use black magic, which becomes much more powerful when she [[spoiler:signs the Storybook of Legends to defeat Courtly Jester]].
* LickedByTheDog: In spite of everyone treating her as if she were a nefarious Evil Sorceress, non-sapient woodland critters are sometimes shown going up to her as if she were a PrincessClassic. Of course, she's more receptive to the positive attention than most characters on the receiving end of this trope, and even [[FriendToAllLivingThings scratches a little bird under its chin]]. This is further shown as she is later able to mimic Apple's talent to call birds to assist her, though her birds are ravens, instead of Apple's pretty doves.
* MagicMirror: She can travel through them.
* NiceGirl: She's helpful, kind, and resents her destiny because she genuinely doesn't want to hurt anyone. Too bad everyone doesn't see that and still expects her to be the next Evil Queen.
* PerkyGoth: Her style is very gothic, although "perky" [[DeadpanSnarker may not be quite the word for it]].
* PowerIncontinence: She doesn't have the best hold on her magic, and often winds up causing bad things to happen completely by accident.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: Most of her hair and outfit is dark purple.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Her magic glows in purple.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: Although only a few streaks of her hair are black.
* ScrewDestiny: She just doesn't want to be a villainess. Considering what she sees on Legacy Day, it's not hard to understand why.
* SecretKeeper: She helps Cerise keep her secret [[spoiler: about her father]] from the others and keeps Kitty from revealing it.
* SecretSecretKeeper: In the book series, Raven figures out on her own that Hunter and Ashlynn are dating but says nothing.
* ShipTease: With Dexter Charming, who has a big crush on her that she's started reciprocating. They're even getting a doll pack together. Now that they have had a date it's almost to the point of OfficialCouple.
* SinsOfOurFathers: Raven has borne the brunt of her mother's legacy against her will her entire life, thus many of her fellow students tend to assume the worst of her on principle.
* SpikesOfVillainy: She has a few accessories with them, despite rejecting her role.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Raven's mother is frequently described as an older version of her, and she worries that this is a sign of GenerationXerox.
* TimeStandsStill: After refusing her destiny on Legacy Day, Raven's desire to make the ensuing chaos stop causes her powers to ([[PowerIncontinence accidentally, of course]],) freeze everyone in place. It still happens sometimes, but only whenever she is badly stressed out and loses her temper. Fortunately, it appears fairly easy for Raven to reverse the effects.
* VillainousWidowsPeak: Prominent in all Raven's hairstyles, fitting with her evil sorceress theme.
* VitriolicBestBuds: {{Downplayed|Trope}} as a part of her OddFriendship with Apple. See her entry above.
* WhatTheHellHero: In ''Thronecoming'', when she called out Apple for being self-centred, Apple calls ''her'' out for being self-centred too, because Raven's refusal of villainy puts every story and the order of Ever After at risk.
* YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame: After the events of ''Dragon Games'', Raven is shocked to find out that her mother isn't angry at her defeat, in-fact quite the opposite. It turns out that because Raven used cunning manipulation and raw power to defeat her mother, The Queen sees this a definite proof that Raven will one day fall into her footsteps. She is practically gushing with joy as she informs Raven of this.

[[caption-width-right:283:"Mischief and madness"]]
-> '''Voiced by''': Creator/CindyRobinson.

Daughter of [[Literature/AlicesAdventuresInWonderland the Mad Hatter]] and Raven's best friend. She seems perfectly suited to being the next MadHatter, but is a Rebel because she doesn't believe that ''everyone'' should be forced to follow their parents' stories.
----
* AchievementsInIgnorance: She can do anything if she doesn't know it's impossible.
* BagOfHolding: Her tiny little "Hat of Many Things," from which she pulls out an entire tea set at a minute's notice - including a pot full of steaming hot tea ''and'' the tea table.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Although she's often subject to TheCuckoolanderWasRight.
* DaddysGirl: She is more than eager to follow in the footsteps of "dear ol' dad" and is shown to have a great relationship with him in the [[ExpandedUniverse book series]], where she helps him part-time in his Tea Shoppe. Highlighted again in ''A Wonderlandiful World'' when [[spoiler: her dad is captured by the Jabberwock while trying to protect Maddie from it.]]
* DeusExMachina: Can converse with narrators (who have apparent control over space and time), and uses it to forward the plot.
* EatDirtCheap: Eats a rock in ''The Storybook of Legends'' with no ill side effects.
* FourthWallObserver:
** She's the only one (besides Kitty) aware of the fact that there are narrators, and can hear them both. She even converses with them.
** [[spoiler: She actually ''becomes'' the narrator in ''A Wonderlandiful World'' after the regular one is affected by the jabberwocky's magic.]]
** Brooke Page frequently tries to take advantage of this in the specials in order to help Maddie and her friends out of bad situations.
** She mentions the existence of Monster High during "Dragon Games".
* InsultBackfire: In ''Maddie-in-Chief'':
-->'''Blondie''': Why would you run against Apple? Are you ''mad''?\
'''Maddie''': [[CaptainObvious Why, yes]], thank you for noticing.
* LargeHam: She can be.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Raven sometimes leans on Maddie when she is starting to feel down or upset over all the trouble she has caused. In reverse, Maddie misses Wonderland very much, but is glad she got to meet Raven.
* MadHatter: Naturally, as a Wonderland native and daughter of the man himself, Maddie rejoices in madness and silliness.
* MadOracle: Her Magic Touch is listed to be seeing the future. And she ''is'' mad.
* MagicSkirt: When Maddie hangs upside-down, her hair obeys gravity but her dress remains downward, if not a bit flattened.
* MeaningfulName: Her PunnyName aside, Madeline is one letter off from ''madeleine'', a French cake usually served with tea.
* MoralityPet: In ''A Wonderlandiful World'' she acts as this for Lizzie and Kitty, bringing out the twos more noble traits.
* PullARabbitOutOfMyHat: In her bio, she claims to have a [[ShoutOut White]] [[WhiteBunny Rabbit]] in her hat... somewhere.
* QuirkyCurls
* RealityWarper: As long as she doesn't know it's impossible, she can do anything.
* {{Seers}}: She has precognition, according to her diary. In chapter 1, she mentions having a vision concerning [[spoiler:the Magic Mirror in which the Evil Queen is trapped]].
* SignatureLaugh: Her "Wa-ha-ha-ha!" guffaw.
* SmarterThanYouLook: She may be a bit of an oddball, but she knows when to take advantage of the narrators (such as learning the information Bunny and Alistair are researching by asking Brooke in ''Way Too Wonderland''), and she initially picks up on Jackie's sarcasm in "No Business like Snow Business", but she's reassured when Jackie says she was genuine.
* StudentCouncilPresident: Becomes a candidate for the position in the appropriately-titled "Maddie-in-Chief" with the intent of, for once, having someone other than Apple in the position. [[spoiler:By the end of the webisode, she and Apple become co-presidents of the student council.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Tea and crumpets, naturally.

The latest in the line of heroic Fairy Tale Hunters. Despite his love to do heroic deeds, he's a Rebel because he's a hunter who ''loathes'' hunting and hurting animals. Secretly in a relationship with Ashlynn Ella, a Royal, until they made their relationship public in the "True Hearts Day" special.
----
* AchievementsInIgnorance: Accidentally manages to arrange for display an entire shoe shop's stock by diving into the pile of unopened boxes, while chasing Pesky the Squirrel.
* AlliterativeName
* BirdsOfAFeather: He and Ashlynn connect over their mutual love of animals.
* CompositeCharacter: He's the same Huntsman who's set to save Apple ''and'' Cerise.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: He's actually quite the animal lover and dislikes hunting; most likely the reason he's a Rebel, and why he and Ashlynn hit it off so well.
* GrandRomanticGesture: Does these for Ashlynn often.
* HisNameReallyIsBarkeep: Twofold with his RepetitiveName.
* HunterOfMonsters: Latest in the line, but he's just not very keen on actually hunting.
* MacGyvering: According to him, he can make anything out of anything, in a very short amount of time. He proves this in ''True Hearts Day'' part 1 when he makes a romantic table for two out of logs in seconds with nothing but his axe.
--> I can make anything out of random stuff I find. Want a shoe closet? Give me tree branches, some honeycomb and about 10 seconds. Boo-ya!
* PracticallyDifferentGenerations: Hunter has an infant sister named Fern, Hunter himself being fifteen.
* RealMenWearPink: According to Faybelle's diary, Hunter is a cheerhexer.
* RepetitiveName: His full title is Hunter Huntsman, Son of the Huntsman.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: [[TheRival Rivalry example]]. He's the Sensitive Guy to Sparrow's Manly Man.
* StarCrossedLovers: With Ashlynn Ella.

Daughter of [[Literature/LittleRedRidingHood Red Riding Hood]]. She's hiding a secret: a "Big Bad" secret.
----
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Cerise is quite tall, has dark hair and is quite reserved [[SugarAndIcePersonality until you get to know her.]]
* AmbiguouslyBrown: She's darker than Raven, but lighter than Cedar. Parts of the fandom likes to think that she's Native American. The comic ''Class of Classics'' shows [[spoiler: her father, Big Badwolf, to be AmbiguouslyBrown himself, though he's darker than his daughter. However Red Riding Hood appears to be white, which would make Cerise biracial/mixed]]
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: [[spoiler: Downplayed. Her sister Ramona seems to view her as this for her "taking this 'under-the-hood' thing too far" and possibly being the one who got her into reform school. Ramona is also this to Cerise. That said, the two seem to have fun with their rivalry sometimes and do genuinely care about each other.]]
* BigEater: Cerise can ''really'' pack in the meat.
* BigLittleBrother: She's fifteen, a year younger than [[spoiler:her older sister Ramona, but close inspection shows her to be the slightly taller of the two. Better still, they have no other siblings, so Cerise is the baby.]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: In Season Two's web episode "Cerise's Picnic Panic".
* CharacterTics: She has a tendency to pull the front of her hood down when embarrassed or shy [[spoiler: as if subconsciously trying to cover her ears further.]]
* ChildOfForbiddenLove: The [[spoiler: marriage of Red Riding Hood and her Big Bad Wolf]] resulted in the birth of Cerise [[spoiler: and of her older sister Ramona.]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: Spending more time with Raven and the rest of the Rebels allow her to be more open and even socialize with others more easily. [[spoiler: Heck, she even starts to show more wolf-like characteristics around pretty much anyone.]]
* DemotedToExtra: She got much less focus after ''The Cat Who Cried Wolf'', [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter much to the fandom's frustration]]. There are still webisodes where she plays a prominent role, but usually she has cameos. This could be slightly justified by the fact that, now that the audience knows her secret about [[spoiler: her parentage and wolfish traits]], a major portion of her plotline is somewhat resolved.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her [[spoiler: lycanthropy]], specifically her trying to keep it a secret, is sometimes treated like closet homosexuality.
* EmergingFromTheShadows: More like [[InvertedTrope "merging with the shadows"]].
* EyeColorChange: Her eyes turn yellow whenever [[spoiler:her wolf side shows]].
* FriendlyEnemy: She and Ramona Badwolf have a weird example. While their first interactions are antagonistic, they otherwise seem to get along fine, even being seen sitting together in the background of one shot, and Cerise is listed as one of Ramona's BFFA's. [[spoiler: Of course, this all makes sense with the context of them being sisters, antagonizing is a part of the deal.]]
* FurryReminder: [[spoiler: She growls at people, howls when excited and doesn't understand why the Castle-teria doesn't have a Meat Day. ''The Unfairest of Them All'' mentions puppy-like behavior she displayed as a baby; chewing bones/furniture and chasing chickens. Its her father's genes kicking in.]]
* HalfBreedDiscrimination: In ''Unfairest of Them All'', the entirety of Hood Hollow, many of whom are her own blood relatives/known her her entire life, [[spoiler: are willing to kill/banish her for her heritage, considering her an abomination. The only Hood Hollow residents who weren't blindly willing to murder/banish her were her mother and grandmother]]
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler:She's the result of Red Riding Hood marrying her Big Bad Wolf, making her half-human half-wolfwere.]]
* HugeSchoolGirl: When stood beside her classmates, she's at least a head taller than Maddie, Lizzie, Faybelle, Raven, Kitty, and Cupid. Even with Briar, Holly and Cedar (who are among the tallest of the girls), Cerise still towers over them.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Subverted. [[spoiler:She's actually proud of who she is; she just wished to be able to howl it to the world.]]
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: After spending most of her life in the shadows, she hopes that the Rebel movement will allow her to break out of that shell and make friends.
* IceQueen: Downplayed. She's not rude or dismissive, but it's noted that she tends to keep to herself and avoids people, [[spoiler: which is understandable, considering her heritage.]]
* InformedAttribute: The book describes her as having broad shoulders and muscular legs. Due to the limited body types for dolls, this does not carry over to the dolls or cartoons.
* InsultOfEndearment: In Ramona's debut, Cerise refers to her as a wet dog. [[spoiler:They're really sisters and there doesn't seem to be any real venom behind it (both seem to have fun playing up the rivalry)]]
* InTheHood: It's right there in her name. [[spoiler:Of course, she has a more practical reason to wear it than tradition.]]
* InvisibilityCloak: Her hood has the ability to make Cerise blend in to the shadows.
* {{Irony}}: Cerise's destiny role is ''Little'' Red Riding Hood, while she is one of, if not the tallest girls in the school. She's also slightly taller than Ramona Badwolf, the ''Big Bad Wolf''.
* LittleBitBeastly: [[spoiler:Her wolf ears.]] See also UnusualEars below.
* MeaningfulName: "Cerise" means "cherry red", making her name an indirect form of "Little Red Riding Hood".
* MyInstinctsAreShowing: [[spoiler:Though she keeps her ears hidden, she still growls when she's angry and really enjoys meat.]]
* NobleWolf: Cerise has a direwolf puppy named Carmine. [[spoiler: It veers into [[UnusualPetsForUnusualPeople symbolic territory]], wolves are typically seen as loners but are actually very social. Sounds like a certain half-wolf.]]
* NomDeMom: She goes by her mother's last name, Hood, instead of her dad's last name, [[spoiler:Badwolf, which her sister Ramona goes by.]]
* NoSell: She and Ramona are both unaffected by Big Badwolf's huff and puff, she just looks annoyed if anything. [[spoiler:Considering he's their dad, it makes sense.]]
* TheNoseKnows: Has an excellent sense of smell, which she even uses to help lead a group of students to the basement in the webisode 'Rosabella and the Beasts'. [[spoiler:Obviously this is due to her wolf heritage.]]
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: She has a rather... ''interesting reaction'' to Daring's floodlight-grade smile, [[spoiler:due to her dad being the Big Bad Wolf]].
* PrettyInMink: During formal occasions, such as Legacy Day and Thronecoming, Cerise wears a hood trimmed with fur.
* ProperlyParanoid: Cerise is extremely cautious and quickly gets unsettled and violent whenever there's a threat of her family's secret being revealed. Given the importance that the land of Ever After gives in following the script and how [[spoiler:her parents deviated '''quite a lot''' from the script]], it's understandable.[[note]]In her diary, people speculating about her as a result of Blondie's Mirrorcast causes her to feel like her throat closed, a classic symptom of a ''panic attack''.[[/note]]
* SiblingRivalry: [[spoiler: Has a somewhat rocky relationship with her sister, Ramona, for differing opinions on keeping their family secret. It's also implied by Blondie that Cerise may or may not have been the one to get Ramona into reform school.]]
* SignificantBirthDate: Her birthday is October 31st, aka Halloween. [[spoiler: Appropriate for a half-werewolf.]]
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She's practically a younger version of her mother, with Raven noting the resemblance in ''Unfairest of Them All'' (the only differences being Cerise's broad shoulders and white streaks in her hair). [[spoiler: Ironically, she also takes noticeable traits from her dad; her multicolored hair, height, and most notably, her wolf ears. She and Ramona bear a striking resemblance to each other, even with Cerise's hood up.]] This is especially seen in ''The Class of Classics'' when we see a teenage version of her mother [[spoiler: and father.]]
* SuperSenses: She got them from [[spoiler:her dad's side.]]
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Cerise is an athlete with a love for meat who's not afraid to get down and dirty, so she's certainly a tomboy compared to the rest of the girls. However, she still wears heels and a skirt in most of her outfits, though she consistently has a less 'girly' color scheme than most of the others.
* SuperSpeed: She can run faster than most people and her favorite class is cross-country running.
* UnusualEars: [[spoiler:Her ears are furry and pointed, though she keeps them hidden under her hood.]]

Daughter of [[Literature/TheAdventuresOfPinocchio Pinocchio]]. Magically incapable of lying before the start of her story, she's not the best person to trust your secrets but you can be sure that she'll always be true, no matter what. She's one of the few Rebels that are looking up to her legacy, because she'll be able to finally lie.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: She's made of wood, further confusing things. As of "A Wonderlandiful World" [[spoiler:it is confirmed she is black.]]
* BrutalHonesty: Since she can only tell the truth, she sometimes can be very blunt.
* CameraFiend: Throughout the yearbook episodes in chapter 3, Cedar is mostly seen taking pictures with her [=MirrorPad=].
* CannotTellALie: Similar to her father, only she can't lie outright. She'll only be able to lie when she begins her story.
* CannotKeepASecret: In the ''True Heart's Day'' special, she told aloud in a coffee shop that Ashlynn and Hunter were secretly dating. Cupid also have to make a plan so Cedar wouldn't speak about the secret dance for the festivity that Headmaster Grimm banned.
* CatchPhrase: "Wait a splinter..."
* CelibateHeroine: She has no interest in having a boyfriend, according to her profile. This makes sense, since her father's story was about family and behavior, not romance.
* ADayInTheLimelight: The web episode ''The Beautiful Truth'' focuses in her and how she calls out the pageant for celebrating vanity and shallow beauty. She's also a main character in the third book along with the Wonderlandians.
* GogglesDoSomethingUnusual: Spends most of the ''Thronecoming'' special wearing her inherited Revealer Rays, an enchanted pair of glasses that expose lies and falsehoods.
* InformedAttribute: While the books and supplementary materials make reference to Cedar having a love of art, this has yet to be seen in any of the webisodes.
* {{Irony}}: Cedar, the puppet girl, is a a talented ventriloquist. Doubly ironic is the fact that her puppet Splinter can only lie.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: When Cedar starts blatantly lying in ''Spring Unsprung'', both Lizzie and Cerise know something is terribly wrong.
* SpeechImpediment: A mild case as she has a noticeably nasal voice. Possibly explained as her inability to lie keeps her nose from growing.
* SuperNotDrowningSkills: She can float since she's made out of magic wood, and she doesn't breathe anyways.

Adoptive daughter of Eros/Cupid/Amor, God of Love from Greek and Roman Mythology. A transfer student from ''Toys/MonsterHigh''. Like Maddie, she's a Rebel because she believes in people following their hearts and if the Rebels are unhappy with their destinies, she's more than pleased to help them find their hearts' true desires.
----
* CallBack: Her signature look has a few references to her Monster High design.
** Her lips are done in the doll style, but with two shades of pink to look more subtle.
** Her headband mimics the heart-shaped section of twisted hair on the older Cupid.
** Her shoes have pink hearts, referencing the pink heart links on the MH Cupid's shoes.
** The heels of her shoes are arrows, since the MH Cupid's heels were bows.
%%* CanonImmigrant
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: She's in charge of teenage love, but she's a terrible shot, and winds up causing as many problems as she solves. Young love is notorious for being messy and confusing.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: A very subtle example, but the highlights in her blue eyes are shaped like hearts, which is held over from her MH design. The animators seem to forget this detail every so often, however.
* {{Flight}}: The books and webisodes differ on this: in the books Cupid can fly, but she is never seen doing so in the webisodes.
* GenkiGirl: She's always upbeat and excitable.
* {{Irony}}: In spite of being raised by the God of Love himself, she has ''horrific'' luck with her own love life and she also has horrific aim.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Despite her feelings for Dexter, she gives him sound advice on how to woo Raven. And in "Cupid Comes Clean...Kinda" she tries to hook them up when she sees Raven has developed a crush back on him. She also willing decides to bow out of the love triangle during the Blue Moon Forest Fest arc.
* LoveGoddess: Being the successor of Eros (if she chooses to follow in his footsteps). Despite her amateurish skills, she technically DOES have the powers, advantages, and capabilities required to be one.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: She was named after two characters from Greek and Roman mythology who were mostly known from their love lifes - Chariclo who was the wife of Chiron, and Arganthone who was the wife of Rhesus.
* NeutralNoLonger: Though promotional material and the opening credits indicated early on that she'd be a Rebel eventually, she only officially joins the faction on Legacy Day when she sees what's at stake for everyone and that the other students need help with more than just their love lives.
* NiceGirl: One of the nicest at Ever After High. Cupid genuinely wants to help her peers out, even if doing so puts her in a worse position.
* NoIndoorVoice: Cupid is highly excitable and often shouts her enthusiasm, much to the detriment of pretty much ''everyone.''
* PinkMeansFeminine: Her clothes and hair are pink all over.
* PlotAllergy: The ''Heart Struck'' episode reveals she's allergic to pollen, and even needs an inhalator. Because of this, she loses her arrows, causing the whole episode's trouble.
* RoseHairedSweetie: A selfless and incredibly sweet romantic who has bubblegum pink hair.
* ShipTease: Her introductory episode (to this series, that is) reveals that she has a big crush on Dex. Given his own rather obvious crush on Raven, it's unknown if anything will come of this.
** She continues having a big crush on him, but also supports him getting with Raven.
** However, by the end of the events of the Blue Moon Forest Fest arc, she seems to have decided to let go of her crush on Dex and let him be with Raven, declaring that “whatever happens happens”.
* ThemeNaming: Her initials with her surname are play on words "See A Cupid".
* WingedHumanoid: Of course. She is specifically referred to as a cherub in the webisode 'Heartstruck'.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: C.A. Cupid was reassigned to Book End by orders from Mount Olympus... which somehow gave her longer hair and feathery wings. Justified, as her original look probably wouldn't have meshed well with her new universe.

Daughter of Literature/{{Rapunzel}}, and Holly's twin sister, she might be the only Ever After High's student ''without'' a legacy to follow. Works as a hairdresser at the Tower Salon.
----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: She thinks Sparrow Hood is cute, but recognizes he would be more charming if he wasn't so arrogant.
* CursedWithAwesome: Her hair grows very fast, so Poppy has to constantly cut it and dye the roots of her violet half. However, "Rapunzel's hair" is extremely valuable and she earns ''quite'' a lot for it.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Briefly seen during part 2 of the True Hearts Day special, with a slightly different look.
* TheFashionista: She loves to style princesses, from their hair to their outfits.
* TheKlutz: Her early attempts at ice-skating the 'Fairest on Ice' webisode are far from graceful. It's only once she decides to follow Holly's advice not to be afraid that she skates gracefully.
* MissedTheCall: Due to being the younger twin, Poppy is the one of the few students ''without'' a legacy.
* NeutralNoLonger: Her web episode's debut is about her choosing to not associate with neither the Royals nor the Rebels, as she sees the better of both worlds and decides to be a "Roybel". But she finally chooses to be a Rebel in ''O'Hair Split Ends'' when [[spoiler:she finds out she's actually the older twin and the role of Rapunzel is hers, but she chooses to give it to her sister who actually wants it, in order to not be tied down by a legacy.]]
* SpareToTheThrone: Not intentionally, but because they're twins. Holly is set to inherit their mother's story, leaving Poppy without a story to follow. [[spoiler:This is changed to intentionally when they find out that Poppy is the older twin and they decided to keep this a secret.]]
* ThemeTwinNaming: She and her sister are named after flowers and, furthermore, each name has a double letter.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Compared to Holly, Poppy is the more artsy and adventurous twin. She even has Princessology as her least favourite class, because it teaches how to be a prim and proper princess. That being said, Poppy's love of style and fashion make her somewhat girly as well, if not as classically so as any of her peers.

Daughter of the Cheshire Cat from [[Literature/AlicesAdventuresInWonderland Alice in Wonderland]]. More of a CatGirl than an actual cat. While labelled as a Rebel in merchandise, in-universe she chooses to remain neutral and just amuse herself observing the mayhem the Royal/Rebel battle or her own pranks causes.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Pale lavender.
* AnimalEyes: Cat-like slits, to go with her overall feline look.
* CatsAreMean: She loves causing chaos and confusion just for the sake of it, which fits with her legacy of the mischievous Cheshire Cat.
* CatGirl: Barely qualifies, due to her only natural feline features being her eyes, but she often wears cat-ear headbands and she has a tail in ''Way Too Wonderland'.
* CheshireCatGrin: A given.
* ChaoticNeutral: InUniverse. She refuses to be aligned with Royals or Rebels and cites sowing chaos as the reason.
* DisappearedDad: While Momma Cheshire is shown, any father she may have is never mentioned. [[TruthinTelevision In the real world, father cats tend not to be involved]] going as far as to kill their kittens.
* ElegantGothicLolita: Her basic look, with dark colors, twintails, and a fancy dress.
* EveryoneHasStandards: She may love sowing chaos and causing trouble, and even indulge in some slapstick, she draws the line at destroying Ever After.
* ExactWords: Her mom told her she'll tell the way to [[spoiler:break the riddles book's curse]] if she could get to her. She then places a board that could freeze people if they misstep. [[spoiler:Kitty then remembers she could just teleport to the tower, since her mom just said Kitty needed to get to her, but not how.]]
* FemmeFatalons: Kitty is the only girl animated with distinctive blue fingernails.
* ForgotICouldFly: In ''Spring Unsprung'', she forgot about her ability to teleport out of stress and fear for her friends.
* FourthWallObserver: [[spoiler:''A Wonderlandiful World'' reveals that she can hear the narrator as well as Maddie. She even becomes the narrator briefly when the group splits up. ''Kitty's Curious Tale'' shows that she can hear both narrators of the web episodes, and spends all day trolling them. Unlike Maddie though, Kitty ignores them most of the time and makes sure they can't read her thoughts.]]
* ItKindOfLooksLikeAFace: Her signature outfit is patterned on damask wallpaper, which is known for having supposed "hidden faces" in its patterns. When one looks closely, one can see kittens hidden in the pattern, referencing her ability to fade away and teleport.
* {{Jerkass}}: In the Webisodes she has not done a single nice thing, though she does help empower the Wonderland Grove with madness.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In the books she helps prove Maddie innocent and in ''A Wonderlandiful World'' where while she is still catty and aloof she is very helpful and even saves the Mad Hatter, and when given a chance to go home she instead returns to her friend's side. In ''Spring Unsprung'' she helps save Ever After by getting her mom to tell them how to remove the curse of the riddle book. Her ADayInTheLimelight moments in the books show that she is not nearly as mean and aloof as she would like everyone to think, especially in her short story which has her becoming angry at some kid for making fun of Cedar, her almost friend, being unwilling to prank a depressed Raven, and worrying over Lizzie's homesickness. Then there are her actions in the main story lines
** She's just as happy as Maddie and Kitty to see Alistair and is actually the first person to hug him in ''Spring Unsprung.''
* LoopholeAbuse: Uses this on her own mother, much to Momma Cheshire's [[spoiler: delight]].
* OddFriendship: She considers Lizzie to be as close as a sister, and Maddie, her roommate, is counted as one of her best friends. Though as Kitty gets more characterization through the books and webisodes it becomes less odd and more heartwarming.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness:
** In ''Maddie's Hat-tastic Party'', Kitty is shown to be genuinely distressed that Wonderland Grove is losing its magic.
** Anything about Wonderland is very important to Kitty, about the only time she will be nicer is if a situation involves Wonderland or when she is helping someone from Wonderland.
** In ''Spring Unsprung'' she greets Alistair Wonderland with a great big hug, which is quite possibly the biggest demonstration of affection we've ever seen from her.
* ThePrankster: Her very first appearance involves saddling the Pied Piper, her music teacher, with a swarm of rats. Her appearance in ''The Cat Who Cried Wolf'' has her being a LOT less harmless with her threatening to reveal [[spoiler:the truth about Cerise's family...[[HalfHumanHybrid or should we say pack]].]]
* PrettyInMink: Several of her outfits have fur accents.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: Kitty does enjoy her catnaps.
* TeleportationSpam: She can teleport anywhere much like her mother can, but if she uses it in rapid session or carries things/people it will tire her out quickly.
* TookALevelInKindness: In the third book, although it might have been [[spoiler:the Jabberwocky's]] magic affecting her behavior. She helps Maddie, Lizzie and Cedar save the school and [[spoiler:teleports Maddie's dad away from the Jabberwocky even though she's terrified of it]]. In ''Spring Unsprung'' she starts acting nicer when she realizes her mother's prank is getting out of hand, and it seems to be sticking as of ''Way too Wonderland''.
* {{Troll}}: She purposely started a food fight between the Royals and Rebels in ''The Day Ever After'', and instigated the Treasure Vault fiasco in the second book when it was already getting out of control.
* WellDoneDaughterGal: ''Spring Unsprung'' shows that she really values her mother's approval when it comes to pranks. Too bad Momma Cheshire doesn't think much of them.
* WildCard: Not affiliated with the Royals or the Rebels. In ''Kitty's Curious Tale'', she says that she could tell if she's either one or the other, but she founds more fun in causing troubles and [[spoiler:confusing the narrators]].

Son of the Giant from ''Literature/JackAndTheBeanstalk.'' He's labelled as a Rebel because he doesn't feel like being a scary giant and he's actually a mellow, nice guy.
----
* AchillesHeel: A ticklish pinkie toe, which is, apparently, the case of all giants.
* TheFaceless: His face has never been shown so far.
* GentleGiant: He's only been polite so far, and seems very meek to boot.

Daughter of the Candy Witch from Literature/HanselAndGretel. She is unhappy with her legacy, and would much rather be a pastry chef.
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Ginger has few friends since everybody is convinced that she's just like her mom.
* ChildhoodFriends: [[AllThereInTheManual In Ginger's profile and diary]], her relationship with Cerise Hood is stated to be this, as they both grew up in the Dark Forest. [[spoiler:Whether or not Ginger knows about the Hood family's "Big Bad" Secret is unknown, but unlikely. However the description of her and Cerise's friendship in her profile about people expecting them to be something they're not, suggests otherwise.]]
* CreatingLifeIsUnforeseen: Ginger created her pet fish Jelly by accident when she used a cooking spell on a gummy fish as part of an extra-credit assignment.
* EarlyBirdCameo: She is mentioned quite a bit in the books, especially when Raven goes to visit her mother in ''The Unfairest of Them All''.
* FacialMarkings: Has hot pink dots above her eyebrows, and skin tone dots under her eyes that may or may not just be freckles.
* GirlishPigtails: Wears her hair in low pigtails, though she switches to a ponytail when she's baking.
* IAmNotMyMother: She has troubles proving that she doesn't eat children. [[BirdsOfAFeather Raven can relate]] and helps her prove it.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: In ''Kiss and Spell'', she has a chance to tell Hopper that [[spoiler: she was the one who kissed him and thus reverted his frog wish. It would've revealed her big crush on him because Ginger was told that true love's kiss was supposedly stronger than a princess' kiss--and she isn't a princess. She decided not to in the end because of Hopper's crush on Briar.]]
* NiceGirl: Ginger is always generous, friendly and optimistic. She is never seen getting angry with anybody, even when she has every right to be.
* OddFriendship: Ginger and Faybelle Thorn [[ChildhoodFriends grew up together]] but they aren't particularly close. Still, they talk on occasion.
* PunnyName: An obvious pun on "gingerbread house".
* RoseHairedSweetie: She has hot pink hair and she's as sweet as the baked goods she makes.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's a very soft-spoken girl and will not tell someone if they hurt her feelings.
* SweetBaker: She's a sweet natured girl who loves to bake. Unfortunately, most people think she's using her treats to lure people to their doom.
* SupremeChef: Loves to bake and is quite good at it.
* TastesLikeFriendship: Her web episode debut involves her trying to [[InvokedTrope invoke]] this, by leaving gift boxes with homemade cookies outside everyone's dorm in hopes of making friends.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: After falling down a well in ''Spring Unsprung'', Ginger spends most of the special [[spoiler:in Wonderland]].
* TurnTheOtherCheek: Even after they spread cruel rumours about her, Ginger is perfectly happy to give Helga and Gus Crumb a platter of her cupcakes.
* UnrequitedLove: She has a huge crush on Hopper, who himself has trouble with his own love for Briar.

The younger sister of Daring, and Dexter's twin. Her destiny is supposed to be a generic damsel-in-distress waiting for a prince to rescue her, but secretly she'd rather be the one doing the rescuing.
----
* AmbiguouslyBi: Darling claims to have an interest in boys in her profile, but the moment in ''Dragon Games'' when [[spoiler:she lifts Apple's curse with a KissOfLife after Daring, Apple's supposed Prince Charming, wasn't able to]] points her sexuality in this territory. Later confirmed.
* AllGirlsLikePonies: Played with. Darling's stallion, Sir Gallopad, reflects her knightly traits rather than femininity.
* BattleBallgown: Darling's everyday dress, with a shoulder piece that looks like a breastplate, and chain mail-like jewelry.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Even when she decides to not brush her hair, it still looks perfect.
* BeehiveHairdo: Her hair is styled to look like the pouffe hairdo, a la UsefulNotes/MarieAntoinette
* BulletTime: When she flips her hair, it literally causes time to slow down around her.
* DamselOutOfDistress: What she wants to be.
* EarlyBirdCameo: If you have never read the books, the reveal at the end of ''Spring Unsprung'' will be a complete mystery.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Though this is because of her always impersonating one of her brothers or some other male character during her heroics
* GirlInTheTower: What she's supposed to be.
* KnightErrant: Implied to be the reason behind [[spoiler:Darling's masquerade as the White Knight in Wonderland]].
* KnightInShiningArmor: What she wants to be. She proves herself well worthy of this role with repeated heroism, indicating that she's really not supposed to be the DamselInDistress at all.
* SamusIsAGirl: According to her profile, Darling is infamous for disguising herself in armour to attend Heroes' classes. [[spoiler:At the end of ''Spring Unsprung'', it is revealed that Darling is, or more likely has been impersonating, Wonderland's White Knight.]]
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] as its by a matter of seconds, she's the youngest of her immediate family, being nine months younger than Daring and a few seconds younger than Dexter, her twin.
* TheReveal:
** [[spoiler: Reveals herself to be the White Knight to most of the student body in ''Way Too Wonderland'', Daring is so shocked he doesn't even care his hair got messed up, [[RunningGag again]].]]
** [[spoiler: And again, when Apple is Cursed. Daring, her destined prince is unable to save her, but Darling's mouth-to-mouth does, heavily implying that she is Apple's destiny, not Daring.]]
* SecretKeeper: Dexter is one for her - he's the only one who knows how strong she really is - and she becomes one for Charity when she [[spoiler: was hiding from the family ball all day]].
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: She can't even go outside on her balcony in the morning without attracting suitors asking to marry her.
* SuperStrength: Can easily carry her brother Dexter around.
* TomboyPrincess: Gets more excited about shining armour than pretty dresses.

[[folder:Rosabella Beauty]]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/profile_art___rosabella_beauty.jpg]]

The daughter of Literature/BeautyAndTheBeast, and Briar Beauty's first cousin. She is a classic Rebel with a cause. Or many, many causes.
----
* AuraVision: Rosabella's "Magic Touch" is a form of this, allowing her to see a person's true self and feelings. In her diary she mentions seeing people with colored auras (for instance, Apple's is an encouraging golden-orange).
* BadassBookworm: Hunts down and calls out Faybelle Thorn, a dark fairy, on imprisoning animals to serve her detention. She was backed up by numerous allies, however.
* {{Bookworm}}: One of the things Rosabella considers great about going to EAH is having free range of the enormous library. This can call a heroine from [[WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast a different retelling of her family's story]] to mind.
* {{Determinator}}: Dedicated to the cause of equal rights for beasts. Her diary, for instance, showcases her determination to allow an ogre student who was unjustly expelled back into school.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Besides Ashlynn, Rosabella demonstrates this trait the best out of all characters, caring for any creature regardless of their appearance or reputation.
* FriendToBugs: Most likely, as her pet is a butterfly named Adelita.
* NiceGirl: Sweet and compassionate, and willing to stand up for others.
* PrettyInMink: Her dress has a brown (faux) fur lapel, a homage to her father.
* SoapboxSadie: Rosabella is the resident activist for the equal rights of nonhuman creatures. Unlike most examples of this trope, however, she's not obnoxious about it.
* SomethingAboutARose: While not to the extent of Briar, Rosabella does have a distinct rose motif.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She looks almost exactly like Briar with glasses and a different hairstyle.

Son of Myth/RobinHood, Sparrow is an indie rock guitarist who has several demos out on the Mirror-Net. Like Hunter, he hangs out in the forests surrounding the school.
----
* ClashingCousins: As revealed by Cerise, they're distantly related, likely cousins. Cerise is clearly not pleased by this (she emphasizes the distantly).
* DirtyCoward: In the Thronecoming special, when the odds are clearly against EAH's bookball team, Sparrow immediately runs and hides.
* DreadfulMusician: Not "dreadful" exactly, but very loud...and incessant. His guitar playing is better than his singing, though.
* {{Jerkass}}: Unlike his father, he doesn't give the stuff he steals to the poor and instead, prefers to keep it to himself.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: As seen in the diaries - When Ashlynn's ring goes missing it's because he had one of his henchmen steal it off her hands for the sole purpose of returning it and trying to get a date.
** Also in Next Top Villain where he [[spoiler:steals the win from Duchess at the last minute by causing Lizzie's horse to throw her off. Although it's odd how he just happened to set it up so that Duchess' good deed that made her flunk the assignment also let her make up with her friend...]]
* JustLikeRobinHood: Subverted; he ''should'' be this but he prefers keeping what he steals. It's one of the reasons [[spoiler: Headmaster Grimm puts him in General Villainy, he thinks he has potential because he doesn't use his thievery skills for good like his father did.]]
* MagicMusic: Comes with being a rocker and the child of the greatest vigilante in folklore.
* MenCantKeepHouse: Much to the disgust of Duchess in ''Next Top Villain'', Sparrow's treehouse in the forest is a pigsty.
* MusicSoothesTheSavageBeast: While the animals around Ever After High don't seem to be that malicious, griffons aren't all that keen on leaving their nests or being messed with in general. When Sparrow plays his guitar, however, they seem to be a bit more docile, and actually headband to the music! Subverted with the horses in Next Top Villain though.
* NeverMyFault: Has an incredibly self-centered attitude, making him far less beloved among his peers than he would seem to think. However, he cuts ties with Duchess in True Heart's Day because he thinks that it's simply because of his friendship with her that he couldn't find out where the secret dance was being held.
* NobleMaleRoguishMale: The Rogue to Daring's Noble. Sparrow also considers himself a ladies' man, but has none of Daring's better qualities to back it up.
* OnlyFriend: To Duchess, though he's more of a accomplice to her. [[spoiler:Until True Hearts day part 3, where he cuts his ties with her, because she was ruining his reputation.]]
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The Manly Man to Hunter's Sensitive Guy.
* ShipTease: ''Maybe'' has this with Duchess? Many fans started shipping them after True Heart's Day because they were working together, and the EAH facebook page teased at it as well, but nothing in the episode(s) actually supported it. And then they weren't shown having any interaction until the Next Top Villain book, where there is a decent amount of interaction and some definite flirting on Sparrow's part - but the books are usually seen as a different continuity from the webisodes.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Sparrow is totally convinced that he's "the rocking-est, handsomest guy in the school." Too bad he's the only one.
* StickyFingers: Loves to steal, but his actual skill tends to vary between the books and the cartoons.
* TheRival: With Hunter. He antagonizes him for no known reason. Maybe because Hunter also uses a bow and arrow and Sparrow thinks that should be his thing.
* TreehouseOfFun: According to ''Next Top Villain'', Sparrow lives in one of these in the woods instead of in the dorms with the other boys.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: In ''Next Top Villain'' he is this to Duchess; though in the webisodes, it's reversed.

Daughter of the [[Literature/ThePiedPiperOfHamelin Pied Piper]], and a [=DJ=]. Amusingly, she looks nothing like her father.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: She has slightly tanned skin.
* BerserkButton: Mocking her isn't a good idea as Sparrow learned in ''Spring Unsprung''.
* CatchPhrase: Says "Follow me!" when turning on the tunes. Makes sense, if you consider [[Literature/ThePiedPiperOfHamelin her story]].
* DaddysGirl: Though she and her father have very different looks and musical tastes, the Piper supports his daughter's musical endeavors, and they both share the view that music should make people happy. Melody herself comments on their good relationship in her diary.
* DoingItForTheArt: InUniverse. [[AllThereInTheManual In her profile and diary]], it is shown that Melody holds fame and fortune beneath making music that everyone can dance to and bond over. This attitude seems to pay off, as she's everyone's go-to musician for events and is Briar's favorite DJ.
* FreakyFashionMildMind: Her fashion sense is edgy, but it still provides a bit of contrast with her kind personality and desire to make others happy with her music.
* MusicSoothesTheSavageBeast: In ''Dragon Games'', Melody controls her pet dragon with the use of her [=MirrorPod=] and dragon-sized headphones instead of a leash or reins.
