!!Gumball Watterson

The main character of this show and the son of Meta-Ridley.

------

* AerithAndBob: Now that the whole 'Richard' name is out of the equation, this is more prominent.
* ArmCannon: Directly cribbed from ''Franchise/MegaMan'', but still an effective weapon. It lacks the power absorbing abilities of the original, though.
* BadassNormal: Despite who his parents are, he's got no powers to speak of. Yet, he's gone up against some pretty big odds.
* BattleCouple: At least one time, he and Penny fought side-by-side.
* BerserkButton: Harming his friends, but especially Darwin. Chi-Chi was on the top of his list due to this reason.
** BigBrotherInstinct: Mostly this.
* BlueIsHeroic: Shares this with his mother.
* CowardlyLion: Not by too much, but he will step up, even if the circumstances are understandably out of his control.
* DeadpanSnarker: With everything that goes on around him, how could he not be?
* FallingIntoTheCockpit: Ends up being the one semi-controlling M.O.G.U.E.R.A against Dagon Darwin. It lasts for a good while before the monster gets the upper hand.
* HeroWithAUniqueName: It's right there in the show's title!
* HeroWorshipper: To [[Anime/DragonBallSuper Hit]] when he arrives.
** IrritationIsTheSincerestFormOfFlattery: Descends into this sometimes.
* HeroicBsod: Falls into one when Darwin is shot out, injured, into the sea and everyone is struggling to find him. Anais advises him not to fall into InUniverse {{Wangst}}, which would have failed as he just turns on sad music. Thankfully, this doesn't last long.
* InterspeciesRomance: With Penny, a shape-shifting fairy.
* LikeParentLikeChild: He displays a few fourth-wall-breaking traits and can be a bit vicious against his foes. However, most of his traits could probably be attributed to Ridley's old self before he went insane. He also shares a few key traits with his mother.
* OfficialCouple: By the time of the fanfic series, he and Penny are in a steady relationship.
* SeenItAll: Almost nothing fazes him now. Almost.
* ShipperOnDeck: He's on board for his brother and Carrie.
* TookALevelInBadass: The moment he gets behind the controls of M.O.G.U.E.R.A and especially when he acquires his ArmCannon.
* WackyParentSeriousChild: Though he has his moments, he's generally more serious than his dad. Then again, that's not saying much.

!!Darwin Watterson

Gumball's adopted brother and the unfortunate antagonist of 'The Cruise'. Yeah, things get crazy here...

------

* AxCrazy: As Dagon Darwin, he loses all sense of reason and goes on a rampage.
* BetaCouple: While Gumball has Penny, he's got Carrie.
* BeyondTheImpossible: As Dagon Darwin, he can even harm ghosts with his physical body.
* BodyHorror: His transformation into Dagon Darwin is NOT a pleasant one.
* CombatTentacles: Gains sharpened versions of these as Dagon Darwin.
* DisneyDeath: Twice in the same episode! First, he's shot by Chi-Chi, but that just mutates him into a monster. Then, Nicole seemingly puts him down when he goes out of control. That just turns him back to normal.
* EldritchAbomination: Invoked when his involuntary SuperMode is named Dagon Darwin.
* TheEndOrIsIt: It's implied at the end of The Cruise that his Dagon Darwin mutation might happen again...
* EnergyWeapon: He can fire these from the palms of his claws as Dagon Darwin.
* EyeScream: He's briefly blinded by M.O.G.U.E.R.A as Dagon Darwin during their fight.
* FaceMonsterTurn: Thanks to Chi-Chi and a bullet filled with Kakavantharan DNA, he's transformed into a massive {{Kaiju}} called Dagon Darwin. It lasts for the entire episode of 'The Cruise' before he turns back after being beaten down to size.
* FangsAreEvil: He's got some pretty big ones as Dagon Darwin.
* FishOutOfWater: Literally. As Dagon Darwin, though, he stays in the water.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Often the foolish one to Gumball, but it depends.
* HappilyAdopted: He's Gumball's pet fish who became the way he was due to the [[ThePowerOfLove power of love.]]
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: After Gumball is teleported away to face off against Mother Brain and Chi Chi, Dagon Darwin is nearly talked down by the others, especially Nicole and Carrie. However, a large beam of purple energy (most likely sent by Mother Brain) causes him to go berserk again and slam Nicole into the sea. He gets better, though, but only after one more fight.
* InterspeciesRomance: He's in a relationship with Carrie, who is a ghost.
* LegoGenetics: Being injected with Kakavantharan DNA? Instant monster.
* MeaningfulName: Aside from the obvious Charles Darwin joke, his brief tenure as Dagon Darwin makes sense, considering Dagon was a prominent sea-dwelling monstrosity from H.P Lovecraft. The very title of the second part, The Shadow Over Elmore, hammers it right in.
* OverlyLongName: He's got one of these. Go watch the show (we're too lazy to list it).
* SeaMonster: Dagon Darwin.
* TenderTears: He has these as his memories come back when he's Dagon Darwin. These moments, however, are brief and serve only to YankTheDogsChain.
* TragicMonster: He never asked to be mutated into a horrific creature of mass destruction when he became Dagon Darwin. Heck, there are several moments where he's reduced to a crying mess as his past memories flood his head.
* TheWorfEffect: Once Nicole turns into a dragon, Dagon Darwin's screwed, but he does give it his all.

!!Anais Watterson

Gumball's sister, despite what his father is. Yeah, not even the fanfic can offer an explanation.

------

* BunniesForCuteness
* ChildProdigy: To the point where he was intelligent [[BrainyBaby as an infant.]]
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Kind of has one with Sky-Byte, seeing as how he actually likes kids.
* OnlySaneWoman: The most normal out of her family and for good reason. Have you seen what's been going on around them?!
* SmallRoleBigImpact: During her role in The Cruise, she gives the ArmCannon gift to Gumball, which would assist him in the years to come.
* WackyParentSeriousChild: To an even greater degree than her two siblings.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: She's greatly intelligent for just being a toddler at least.

!!Nicole Watterson

Meta-Ridley's wife and a damn good fighter at that. Useful, given what fanfic this is taking place in.

------

* ActionMom / AlmightyMom: Like you wouldn't believe.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's a kind mother, but also terrible to make enemies with.
* BloodKnight: She actually enjoys the art of fighting, as she showed Barricade during his visit.
* BlueIsHeroic: Carries over when she's turned into a dragon.
* BreathWeapon: She can fire a powerful blast of energy from her maw as a dragon. It was powerful enough to stop Dagon Darwin, for starters.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: One of her greatest abilities is her immense strength.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: With Meta-Ridley. Back when he was sane, of course.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Whenever she and Meta-Ridley are together, she's curbing his worst and idiotic impulses.
* DeadpanSnarker: Occasionally. Hey, [[LikeParentLikeChild it might be genetic.]]
* HairTriggerTemper: Oh, lordy, her fuse is actually quite short.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Dwarfed by Meta-Ridley.
* InterspeciesRomance / HappilyMarried: With Meta-Ridley.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: She was forced to seemingly put down Dagon Darwin when she became a dragon for a while and she was in tears the whole time, yet still stoic.
* LegoGenetics: Being injected with Kakavantharan DNA? Instant dragon.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: As a dragon, she was powerful enough to defeat Dagon Darwin. Not even Meta-Ridley could achieve that!
* OneWomanArmy: Decepticons? Monsters? Bring them on.
* OnlySaneWoman: Despite her moments, she's generally this, especially when her husband is added to the equation.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Once she gains the ability to turn into a dragon in 'The Cruise'. Generally, she looks like an elegant version of a typical Western Dragon.
* ParentingTheHusband: Occasionally with Meta-Ridley, especially when he does something stupid.
* UglyGuyHotWife: She's cute and sweet, but Meta-Ridley (appearance-wise)...
* TheVoiceless: As a dragon, she doesn't talk at all for some reason, communicating in roars, coos, and head-tilts.
* WomenAreWiser: When Anais isn't filling in the role.
* TheWorfEffect: At first, she's at the end of this when Dagon Darwin smacks her away, leaving her bruised, bloodied, and drowning in the sea. Then she takes the Kakavantharan DNA...

Well, this is going to be long.[[CanonImmigrant You may notice that a pre-existing character from the]] [[VideoGame/{{Metroid}} Metroid series is here?]] Well, this version of the [[ArchEnemy main nemesis of Samus Aran]] has gone off in a completely different direction. Born on the Planet Kakavanthara, he was jetisonned into space by his parents as the planet was scheduled to be devoured by the God of Cartoon Network (the universe where he was born). Raised by Space Pirates, he rose up the ranks until he had to go to school under the care of a rabbit named Josephine. [[WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball You can see where this is going, as he grew to like his new home, Elmore.]] Eventually, he met and, eventually, fell in love with Nicole Waterson. The years passed and they got married, but, due to a terminal disease, Ridley needed to be upgraded. The process was successful, but he ended up going insane because of it. He still lives happily with his family, despite his insanity and the typical trouble that Elmore throws at them. WHEW!

------

* AlternateUniverse: The canon in the Review Team officially retconned Richard's existence and replaced him with this guy.
* AntiHero: He's willing to save the day and even more so in taking care of his family, but usually he's in for the money and the havoc.
* BeastAndBeauty: With his wife.
* BlackComedy: Par for the course as he shoots and blows his way through the competition.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: He may strive to be a good family man, but his tendency to kill is a bit much.
* BodyHorror: Look at him and compare him to the usual depictions of Ridley. He just looks...wrong.
* CaptainErsatz: Though the story has long since been deleted, there was a fan character (who is still active, but radically altered) on the Website/DeviantArt page named Rick who acted in a few ways the same.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: He and Nicole knew each-other since they were children.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Try to read ANY bit of his dialogue and deny this.
* CreepyGood: Oh dear GOD, look at him!
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: More like 'Cybernetics Eat Your Sanity'! From what we get, Ridley was very much sane until his upgrade. Now, he has voices in his head and his need to kill has been magnified. Still a devoted husband, though.
* {{Expy}}: Sigh...changed by circumstances, breaks the fourth wall, has voices in his head, violent and gun happy, VOICED BY NOLAN NORTH...[[ComicBook/{{Deadpool}} Who do you think?]] Also, he fits the bill of the one he replaced, Richard, in terms of his marriage.
* FriendToAllChildren: We know he loves his kids very much.
* FunnySchizophrenia: Those voices in his head sell it.
* GoodThingYouCanHeal: Unless Kakavantharian technology and heavy objects are put into the mix. The latter will just slow him down.
* HealingFactor: See above for why.
* HearingVoices: Much like [[{{Expy}} the one he's based one]], he has a serious voice and a gleeful, yet ignorant, voice in his head. They provide comic relief.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: Proven to be this even when he's saving the earth.
* HotSkittyOnWailordAction: If the games and how tall he is compared to Squidward all come to mind, Meta-Ridley is freakin' HUGE compared to Nicole. And he has 2 biological children (Darwin is adopted and Anais...well, even he doesn't know).
* InterspeciesRomance: With Nicole.
* LargeHam: He is voiced by Nolan North. Enough said.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obhkiPewDBU Do we even have to say it?]]
** However, this was radically changed to...[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRmwFBK0cyk this.]]
** And then it got changed back to the original. Just who's getting that other theme, then?
* LethalJokeCharacter: Just because he's a funnier version of the original Ridley doesn't mean he's any less dangerous.
* MeaningfulName: Well, his middle one is Ripentear.
--> ''"Because talent."''
* MotorMouth: It's nigh impossible to get him to stop talking when he starts.
* NarratingThePresent: Does this 24/7 whenever he can.
* NeverHurtAnInnocent: It seems only jerks get the receiving end of his power.
* OppositesAttract: Though he was sane to begin with (making it easy to see why Nicole married him), his present insanity would normally make it impossible to see him with a motherly, if not stressed to the breaking point, wife. Their marriage still works.
* PsychoForHire: How he got recruited for a brief moment by Sir in the first place.
* PsychopathicManchild: He has signs of this, as he values pinkie swears, throws tantrums at times, and even carries a lunchbox to his work. He's also very much violent.
* RedOniBlueOni: His two voices. The blue one is even represented by his past self, which, [[DeadpanSnarker judging by his attitude]], has just given up on Ridley.
* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Without all those upgrades (and his loss of sanity), the disease that was ravaging his body would have killed him.
* TalkativeLoon: To be expected from a guy like this.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: His teammates are VERY uncomfortable with him around. Even the God of Cartoon Network is uneasy around him.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Chimichangas, judging by his bio page.
* TriggerHappy: In the presence of guns, of course.
* UglyGuyHotWife: You thought Richard was ugly? Just replace him with a monstrous metal dragon who's lost more marbles than we can count! His wife is still the adorable, yet temperamental, cat girl we know.
* UnreliableNarrator: Not too bad, but he tends to fall into this. It takes his sane voice to set him straight.
* WorfHadTheFlu: Though formidable, he usually has his wings overpowered and he's not exactly durable.

Penny's father, Patrick, and an enemy of the Wattersons turned good as of the fanfic series.

------

* ArchNemesis: Once was this to Meta-Ridley (and, by extension, all Wattersons).
* BadassFamily: Whenever he and Penny team-up.
* BenevolentBoss: Even when he was out for revenge, he's a great guy to have around in his job as a construction worker.
** NoOneGetsLeftBehind: This is stated as the reason, showing a sense of honor and empathy.
* CaptainErsatz: Not really. One would think he's cribbing off of [[WesternAnimation/TheBatman a certain Batman villain of the same name,]] but he's actually one of Gumball's canon characters, just with different origins and abilities.
* CerebusRetcon: Patrick's hatred for the Wattersons? Holy crap, this applies.
* CharacterDevelopment: Carries over into the fanfic series, where, ever since Gumball and Penny became an item, he's been nothing but nice and supportive.
* CoolHelmet: Complete with multiple eyes.
* DarkAndTroubledPast / FreudianExcuse: Oh, lordy! First, burned horrifically by Ridley by accident, loses Nicole's interest beforehand, has to be nursed to health as he develops an affinity for fire, until he finally starts a family...until he's captured and experimented on by a rogue Space Pirate and turned into what you see before you. It's surprising he's let go of whatever hate is in his heart after that!
* FireBreathingWeapon: His arm-flamethrowers and even an attachment that fires bullets made out of fire!
* {{Foil}}: To Meta-Ridley. Both are heavily altered from their canon selves (Firefly-Patrick and Ridley-Richard), loved Nicole, were altered by Space-Pirates, and are utterly crazy. However, Patrick is the same character as him but with a different backstory, Nicole dumped him for being a JerkJock, the Space Pirate was experimenting on him not for his own good, and he eventually grew out of his insanity to be a more sane father. He also uses tech tailor-made to kill Kakavantharans.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He was burned horrifically by Ridley back in high school in a terrible accident.
* HeelFaceTurn: Ever since he [[HeelRealization realized how empty his vengeance was,]] he's become a reliable ally to the Wattersons, as well as all of Elmore.
* IronicFear: He's deathly afraid of water.
** WeaksauceWeakness: I mean, yeah. Still, this was a result of the horrible experimentation done to him. Even drinking water has to be forced into him!
* JerkJock: Was this in High School.
* JetPack: Part of his look. It even shooting out more fire!
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: He has four arms.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Notice how he's barely called Patrick Fitzgerald by everyone. He doesn't mind at all, though.
* PoweredArmor: The new modifications done to him.
* PyroManiac: He gets a bit too into using his flames at times.
* RescueRomance: He met his wife when he was found in a landfill after his terrible accident. She nursed him back to health and things went from there.
* {{Revenge}}: His main goal after all he went through against the Wattersons. He's grown out of it.
* ShipperOnDeck: Subverted, but then played straight, as listed above.
* VengeanceFeelsEmpty: One of the reasons behind his HeelFaceTurn.

* AloofBigBrother: He's pretty aloof, but he's always there for his little adopted brother, Ian.
* BerserkButton: Hurting his or somebody else's brother.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Harm his brother or another's...
* BirdsOfAFeather: Both he and Tina are tyranids and they're both pretty rough and somewhat mean. They enjoy each-others company.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite looking more ferocious, and he kinda is on his worst days, he's actually okay to be around. Just not exactly friendly.
* LonersAreFreaks: He's even more anti-social than Tina and more ferocious looking.
* NobleDemon: Despite being somewhat unpleasent due to his temper, he has a sense of honor, as he agrees to find the one who shot Darwin due to him understanding Gumball's pain. Nobody should have to lose a brother, after all.
* PairTheSpares: He's with Tina, for obvious reasons.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Ian's blue, though he usually keeps calm.
* SiblingYinYang: He's more belligerent and hostile between he and Ian.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He and Ian are rarely seen apart.

------

* BewareTheNiceOnes: During Demolisher's attack on Elmore, he quickly stepped up to snuff.
* BigBrotherWorship: Has this for V. Not that it isn't deserved.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He and Molly are pretty socially awkward and upbeat, so it's little wonder that they got together.
* BreathWeapon: He can breathe a stream of flames from his mouth.
* DarkIsNotEvil: To a greater extent. He's even darker and looks like a demon, but he's actually very sweet and kind.
* {{Determinator}}: When he learned that Molly was trapped in the void, he sprang to action quite well.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Even he thinks that Cruise Ship Simian and Brown used is an utter waste.
* InterspeciesRomance: He, a Cherufe, has one with Molly, a sauropod.
* {{Keet}}: He's quick to get all excited about things, such as mysteries and helping friends.
* NiceGuy
* RedOniBlueOni: He's the blue to V's red, as he's much more gentle and sociable.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Subverted.

[[Film/TransformersFilmSeries Bayformers]] that found themselves in Elmore and, later, became the best law-enforcers around.

------

* AxCrazy: Frenzy, in battle. His name is rather appropriate.
* BloodKnight: When Nicole starts showing her aggression against Barricade, he's quite impressed.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: They're both hacked into staying in vehicle mode and chasing Gumball and company, thanks to Chi-Chi, due to Bayformers being easy to hack. Thankfully, this doesn't last long. He's also not crazy during so. Just [[AndIMustScream aware that he's not the one behind the wheel.]]
* CoolCar: Barricade's alt-mode is a rather fancy police car.
* CovertPervert: Frenzy tries to look under Nicole's skirt, only to be kicked away for his troubles.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: The reason Barricade decided to become a police officer in Elmore was that, when he was cut off from Mars, he thought he lost his purpose.
* EpicFlail: Barricade's got one of these, usually attached to one of his wheels.
* FragileSpeedster: Frenzy may be agile, but he's not exactly durable.
* GoodCopBadCop: Usually the bad cops, compared to Elmore's police force, but they're actually competent.
* HeelFaceTurn: Once Martian Bayformers that were quite hostile towards everyone, they've actually made a living here with a new purpose.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Frenzy.
* RabidCop: Barricade's become less of this as he's spent more time in Elmore, but Frenzy sure is.
* StockNinjaWeaponry: Frenzy, befitting of his infiltrator nature, uses alien shurikens as weapons.
* ThoseTwoGuys: They're usually never seen apart, due to Frenzy being Barricade's minicon.
* TheUnintelligible: Frenzy, most of the time.
* VillainousBsod: They fall into a hard one when they're left behind in Elmore. Thankfully, Meta-Ridley brings them out of it by suggesting getting a new job.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Say what you will, but he's still very efficient in the battlefield.
* CallingYourAttacks: "TSUNAMI BLASTER!"
* ChestBlaster: See above for his signature weapon.
* FlyingSeafoodSpecial: His shark mode can fly.
* FriendToAllChildren: He loves children and usually hangs out with them, especially Anais.
* GoingNative: Much like Barricade, this happens to him in Elmore.
* HeelFaceTurn: Granted, he wasn't too bad to begin with, but when he settles down in Elmore, he's hardly a bad guy anymore.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Anais.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: He and his fellow Decepticons (Gas Skunk, Dark Scream, and Slapper) aren't as big as they say they are. Still, Sky-Byte is efficient in some respect.
* PsychopathicManchild: When he was a bad guy, he showed signs of this, as he got easily flustered and ending up crying like a child at the end.
* ShipTease: He shows some attraction towards Nicole, but it might not go anywhere.
** Actually, in The Cruise, it's stated he has a small crush on her.
* ThreateningShark: He transforms into one that can fly and shoot missiles.
* VillainousBsod: A pretty teary one when he realizes he's been abandoned on Elmore. He gets over it with Nicole and the Watterson's help.
* WarriorPoet: He thinks of himself as this, as he'll usually come up with a haiku to talk about the situation. They're not too bad, per say.

------

* AnArmAndALeg: One of his arms is torn out by Dagon Darwin during their fight.
* BehemothBattle: His one notable scene is him battling Dagon Darwin and almost winning until he's nearly destroyed.
* BerserkButton: Don't compare him to a Pokemon. Not even if you're the pilot.
* ChestBlaster: He can fire such a thing.
* CombiningMecha: Though he doesn't show this in his appearance due to a lack of more pilots, he can detach into a drill tank and flying machine.
