[[foldercontrol]]

----

[[folder:The Protagonist]]
The main hero, a refugee stuck trying to figure out why and how the time loops and Gnosia infection are happening.
----
* AmnesiacHero: At the beginning of the game, they have no memories because of being injured during the evacuation of Liu-An.
* TheCasanova: Potentially. Male and female [=PCs=] each get a few romantic encounters with certain members of the cast, and Setsu is an ImpliedLoveInterest regardless of gender.
* DeadAllAlong: In every timeline where Gnosia exist onboard the ship, the protagonist is always the first victim which alerts everybody to the presence of the Gnosia. But nobody ever notices the contradiction of them still being alive except for Yuriko, who "corrects" Raqio's perception in one loop to make them notice it, too. Ultimately it's revealed to be a {{Subversion}} when Setsu deduces that the protagonist is entering each loop and replacing the self that was eliminated by the Gnosia, which is why they can't enter a loop with zero Gnosia onboard the ship without invoking NeverTheSelvesShallMeet.
* FeaturelessProtagonist: Other than the player's option to choose an icon, they're never represented onscreen.
* HelloInsertNameHere: You can name them whatever you like.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: They're very close to Setsu, and will go on what looks like a date with them.
* ShipTease: They get moments with Setsu, and several other characters can seem attracted to them depending on gender.
* TokenGoodTeammate: You can be a Gnosia, AC Follower, or even a Bug and still side with the crew, helping to eliminate the other Gnosia and deliberately putting yourself under suspicion to get yourself in cold sleep.
* TomatoInTheMirror: Turns out the player themself is the reason the loops are continuing, as Manan killing them basically brought about a paradox. The way to end the loop is to get the other player to another dimension.
* VillainProtagonist: Whenever playing as a Gnosia, AC Follower (assuming you don’t use that position to help the humans), and a Bug. Justified; playing the villain is necessary to fill out your key. Every loop is different and ends upon victory or defeat, and you will often be playing against the crew as the Gnosia, their cultists, or a universe-destroying bug.
* WeCannotGoOnWithoutYou: If the player is killed or frozen then the round ends in failure, even if their side is on the cusp of victory. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] - the player losing doesn't necessarily mean that their side did, but the Silver Key is only concerned with the person it parasitized.

[[folder:Setsu]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/setsu_full_sprite_8.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:]]
The main character's main ally, they are a former soldier who's also going through the loops.
----
* AbortedDeclarationOfLove: Builds up to it during your "date" at the cinema, but Shigemichi intruding [[MomentKiller torpedoes the moment]]. They lean into this a few other times too.
* EasilyForgiven: If the event that has them kill Sha-Ming offscreen triggers, nobody seems to think anything of it and does not hold it against them at all.
* EscortMission: There are multiple events that require both you and Setsu to survive, which isn't so easy because of Setsu's low Stealth. The worst of these is the event where you and Setsu conspire to take out Jonas and search his personal belongings, but this mission also requires the Gnosia to all be put into cold sleep or else [=LeVi=] will deny access due to the crisis situation. This means that the player can't simply be the Gnosia and kill Jonas themself while sparing Setsu.
* FriendlyEnemy: They're perfectly fine and civil if you go up against them, as they know each loop is the luck of the draw and that you and your partner will be on different sides now and again.
* GoodIsNotSoft: After enough looping, Setsu reaches a point where they're willing to do a number of ruthless and unsavory things they may not have been capable of before, like scheming with you to get Jonas killed or frozen so the two of you can raid his cargo.
* GoodLookingPrivates: The very pretty Setsu is a soldier by trade.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Privately admits that they've developed a disturbing aptitude for playing Gnosia across their many loops, between having sent so many Gnosia to death and killing so many crewmates as one of them. Dirty tactics they might once have shirked from, like getting a human Jonas killed or frozen in order to unlock his trove, are fair game to them now.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: Both Setsu and the protagonist share many tender moments and prioritize each others' safety, but their relationship is never explicitly stated to be romance.
* JackOfAllStats: They're one of the more balanced characters, without excelling in anything in particular.
* KaleidoscopeEyes: They have red eyes with spots of green in them, but depending on their emotion the green grows and shifts.
* MeaningfulName: Setsu comes from "Seth", the biblical figure that led humans to gnosis.
* PunchClockVillain: As a Gnosia, they'll kill because they have to but see no higher reason.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Their very grabbing eyes are red, peppered with flecks of green. As Gnosia, their eyes are a much brighter, more sinister crimson and one eye is shadowed in darkness.
* RetGone: Their fate in the regular ending. As they leave for another dimension, everyone else on the D.Q.O. besides you forget that Setsu ever existed.
* SadisticChoice: Eventually, the protagonist stumbles into Setsu's first loop, before they became a host to the Silver Key. Raqio overhears the protagonist trying to talk to Setsu about looping and Setsu not having any idea what they're talking about. So Raqio takes the protagonist aside and after hearing their situation, hypothesizes that if Setsu doesn't become a host of the Silver Key in this loop, they, and the protagonist by extension, would never have begun looping to begin with. Then the ship malfunctions and crashes into something, and Setsu gets trapped under debris and will certainly die. So if Setsu doesn't become trapped in the loops, they become KilledOffForReal instead.
* SitcomArchNemesis: They hate Sha-Ming enough that they'll just flat out murder him in some loops despite neither being Gnosia.
* TheStoic: They're one of the least emotionally expressive characters.
* TimeLoopFatigue: Eventually starts to break down over the exhaustion of having to go through the trials again and again.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Raqio]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_full_raqio.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:]]
A smart but arrogant student from a strict caste-based society.
----
* AllThereInTheScript: They are fonder of non-binary players, the same way Sha-Ming is friendlier towards female players and Stella is towards male ones. Unlike those two, however, Raqio lacks any gender-locked events, nor does their dialogue change in any way depending on the player's gender. You'll likely never figure this out unless you check the game files or look up an analysis thereof.
* ArtificialBrilliance: As a character with high logic, Raqio can call out Gnosia that lie and verify characters that have no chance of being Gnosia. To teach you more about logical deduction, the first time you are Gnosia, Raqio will be your teammate and falsely claim the role of Engineer. If you try to attack the real engineer, Raqio will ask you if you are trying to sabotage them and force you to select a different target. If you falsely claimed the role of Engineer too, Raqio will lecture you on why doing that screwed you both over. If there are multiple people claiming to be the engineer, and one of them is attacked by the Gnosia and disposed of, that guarantees that they were the real engineer and anyone else claiming to be the engineer is an imposter. If there are two Gnosia and three people claiming the be the engineer, it means that getting rid of all the engineers will also eliminate the Gnosia.
* GatheringSteam: An innocent Raqio will usually get targeted by the Gnosia or voted out early on, but if they survive a few nights and get enough Doctor and Engineer reports to work with, they will start throwing around Definite Human and Definite Enemy and get every enemy swiftly voted out.
* GlassCannon: Raqio's high Logic and decent Performance means that they can often get people frozen by accusing them, but their terrible social stats and InsufferableGenius attitude means it's even easier to get them frozen in turn, and the Gnosia are likely to target them quickly if Raqio causes any trouble for them.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While Much of their dialogue consists of either bragging or insulting others., they choose to bequeath their key to you, allowing you to save Setsu. They're also remarkably kind to Remnan.
* MeaningfulName: It's based on the Esperanto word for "reason", Racio.
* [[MrExposition Mx. Exposition]]: Since they're the original owner of the Silver Key that's keeping the protagonist and Setsu trapped in the GroundhogDayLoop, and because they're also quick to figure things out, Raqio is the one who reveals a lot of the important information about what's going on.
* NoSocialSkills: Rude and abrasive, they're not very popular with the crew, and their biting style of argumentation wins them few allies.
* OddFriendship: With Remnan.
* PetTheDog: Despite their generally rude behavior, they often go out of their way to help shield Remnan from his triggers and gives up their key to help the player save Setsu.
* PlainPalate: Their Small Talk dialogue reveals that they don't quite care for food, opting for nutritional supplements instead.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: As a Gnosia, Raqio's eyes turn red and deviate outward. While not as apparent, [[HellishPupils their pupils also take on an odd, slightly angular shape]].
* SmugSnake: An enemy Raqio will often claim a false role and while they have a decent enough Performance to get away with lying, their terrible Stealth and Charm will often get them thrown into cold sleep for no logical reason at all.
* SourSupporter: They're only marginally more civil towards their definite allies than they are towards their enemies and the group as a collective.
* TheSpock: Their style is to focus entirely on logic and forgo emotion in debates.
* SuperGullible: PlayedWith. In contrast to their extremely high Logic, Raqio's Intuition is absolutely abysmal. While they can - and often do - notice logical inconsistencies, they are incapable of spotting lies unless Don't Be Fooled is in effect.
* SurroundedByIdiots: And they will gladly let you know.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:SQ]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_full_sq.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:]]
An irreverent ValleyGirl type who just wants to enjoy life as it comes.
----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: She's flirty with everyone, but if you're a Gnosia, under certain conditions she gets hot enough for you to betray her fellow humans to their deaths so that you and she can elope together.
* AxCrazy: Out of every potential Gnosia, she stands out for her violence and attempts to take certain crew as "pets." This is a hint that she's not a normal Gnosia, but one influenced by Manan.
* ChildByRape: She thinks she might be one, because despite being married her mother also kept a male sex slave and Remnan makes it clear that he was ''not'' willing.
* CompulsiveLiar: She's fairly self-conscious of her habit of lying and will even warn you to not trust her in certain loops.
* ExpressiveAccessory: The heart tattoo on her face changes to a skull and crossbones when she reveals herself as Gnosia.
* TheFashionista: Implied. She actually has Yuriko try on one of her outlandish outfits in one of the most bizarre and unexpected social events in the game.
* FemmeFatale: Especially as a Gnosia -- she's the most likely to ask the player for an alliance only to throw you under the bus.
* FreudianExcuse: She says that she had no family or friends when she was "born" a year ago, so she compulsively lies to protect herself since she's all alone and doesn't understand anything.
* GrandTheftMe: The entire purpose of SQ's existence was so that she could serve as a new body for Manan to transfer her consciousness into. While SQ managed to escape this fate prior to the events of the game, parts of Manan still reside inside her and come to the surface once she's infected with Gnosia. This results in Manan effectively hijacking SQ's body in the loops where she's a Gnosia.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Setsu rather accurately sums her up as a "cowardly, self-centred liar". About the only person she's willing to take a risk for is you, if you can seduce her as a Gnosia.
* NightmareFetishist: Sure, she'll flirt with anything with a pulse. But how do you ''really'' get her weak in the knees? Be a Gnosia. She'll not only keep your secret if you admit it to her, but she's up for ''murdering the rest of the crew'' if you're willing to spare her, and wants to elope with you afterwards. She even gets off on how "selfish and terrible" this act is.
* SarcasticConfession: During the event where you learn ''Say You're Human'', she gets around Comet questioning her by treating it as a joke, confusing and frustrating Comet until she gives up.
* TheSocialExpert: While not the brightest, her Charm and Charisma mean that it's very hard to turn others against her.
* TheTease: She's very flirty, and will make jokes about the protagonist wanting to see her in the shower.
* TheVamp: At her worst, she will seduce the player or others while being a Gnosia to get them on her side.
* YouAreNumber6: The same "SQ" translates to 511, as she's supposed to be Manan's 511th body.
* {{Yandere}}: Her Gnosia self is this to those she wants as "pets," as was Manan toward Remnan in her past body.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Despite her estimated age being twenty-six, she's actually only about a year old, as a result of having been grown in a pod for her mother to take over.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gina]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gina_full_sprite.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:]]
A kind director of space traffic without the heart to deal with mistrust and debate.
----
* AntiVillain: She makes one of the kindest Gnosia, to the point of outing herself due to guilt over lying.
* BadLiar: Is noted to be a terrible liar in her character profile, and has a poor performance stat as proof.
* ExtremeDoormat: Has a hard time defending herself when accused. Others will whip out every trick in the book -- lying, obfuscating, deflecting, retaliating, demanding help from others -- but not poor Gina.
* {{Fetish}}: She enjoys fattening people up. SQ asks her if it's this, but she denies it. She just really enjoys fattening people up.
* HeroicSacrifice: When the ship is damaged, she as a Gnosia will let herself drift off into space after unsafely leaving to repair it so [=LeVi=] can cease the Gnosia protocol and finish the repairs. The remaining survivors will be visibly mourning on the victory screen.
* HonorBeforeReason: The ''only'' Gnosia to willingly out herself, simply because she hates lying that much.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: So much so that even as Gnosia, she is capable of real heroism and will look out for the crew.
* TakingYouWithMe: Phrases her suspicions in such a manner, if she disappears.
* TookALevelInBadass: Starts off with generally terrible stats all across the board, but after the player gets four of Gina's notes, her Intuition spikes and she becomes a LivingLieDetector to rival Comet.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comet]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gnosia_chara_full_comet.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:]]
A bubbly yet extremely intuitive young woman who's excited to see the galaxy.
----
* AnimatedTattoo: Her "tattoos" are actually slime creatures from her home planet that can move or leave her.
* BadassAdorable: Comet is very likely to be one, given that she grew up on a [[DeathWorld ridiculously hostile planet where only the strongest people can survive.]]
* BoldExplorer: Her dream is to captain her own ship and explore the galaxy as an adventurer. In the game epilogue, it's revealed that Comet sells her slime on the black market, uses the money to buy herself a ship, and becomes a famous adventurer with Chipie (who is traveling with her as a cat).
* BrutalHonesty: If she's your detractor, she's not hostile or frustrated as certain others get if you visit them at night regardless. She'll just bluntly tell you that she doesn't like you.
* CryingWolf: Because she flings accusations around at random and has abysmal Logic with mediocre Charisma and Performance, she struggles with getting people to trust her when she actually does notice a liar.
* GenkiGirl: Cheerful, fun-loving, and completely unabashed.
* LeeroyJenkins: Has little in the way of tact and will recklessly hurl around accusations, and often claims false roles as an enemy despite being a BadLiar and knowing it. She has one of the lowest Stealth stats among the cast to reflect this, which gets her eliminated or put into cold sleep quickly no matter what her role is.
* LivingLieDetector: With the highest Intuition out of anyone, she's the one most likely to spot liars.
* LoveConfession: Can give one to a PC under certain conditions.
* MsFanservice: Second only to SQ. She's flirty, outgoing, and wears very little, always showing off her busty {{Underboobs}} and nice legs. She even has a ShowerScene where she will outright offer the player to [[ShowerOfLove join her]].
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Best displayed in her shower scene: she's not bothered at the intrusion, invites you to [[ShowerOfLove get naked and join her]], and when she gets dressed she tells you to take a peek.
* ShuttingUpNow: If she gets caught in a lie or outed as Gnosia.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her clothes don't cover anything but her upper chest and crotch.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Chipie]]
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gnosia_chara_full_chipie.png]]
[[caption-width-right:150:]]
A young man who likes cats, to a rather unusual degree...
----
* AmbiguouslyBi:
** In the Japanese version, his Small Talk line about love doesn't seem to imply his past love to be of any gender in particular.
** Somewhat blunter in the English version: during the event when the player learns the "Let's Collaborate" skill from him, he mentions that he hooked up with his collaborator, who can be of any gender, for the loop.
* BodyHorror: As a Gnosia we get a good look at how the cat is connected to his neck via a spinelike black tube. This can also be seen in a cutscene where Chipie is in the gym and the cat is running on its own treadmill.
* FriendlessBackground: As a child, he never had anyone to play with but the neighborhood cats. That's why he decides to make himself into one.
* HiddenDepths: Apparently, he's quite the cook.
* KindheartedCatLover: He's one of the nicest and most empathetic crew members, and is obsessed with cats to the point of getting back-alley surgery to become one himself.
* KindheartedSimpleton: Not the sharpest tool in the shed, especially considering the [[AllThereInTheManual internal personality values]], but one of the kinder characters in the cast. Might be something of a [[HalfWittedHillbilly country bumpkin]], given his accent and mention of growing up in a rather boring place.
* NiceGuy: He's very friendly and doesn't have a malicious bone in his body.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shigemichi]]

[[quoteright:812:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_00a37e2191.jpg]]
A human with an uncanny resemblance to TheGreys.
----
* ArtificialLimbs: Shigemichi's appearance is due to his synthetic skin that he had surgically grafted onto him after a major accident. It's not clear if it provides any actual benefits, but Shigemichi does claim that it can allow him to survive in space.
* BadLiar: His Performance is nonexistent, meaning that he'll be caught almost immediately when trying to deceive anyone. It only gets worse when he claims to be a Doctor or an Engineer, which he loves to do as an enemy.
* HopelessSuitor: He has a crush on Stella, but can barely say more than two words to her.
* ShipperOnDeck: If you choose to watch a movie with Setsu, he'll demand that the two of you hold hands and wait for the whole thing to finish before telling you you've been voted out.
* UndyingLoyalty: He's a great ally to have because he will go out of his way to rabidly defend you.
* VagueAge: His crew data file says he's estimated to be 88 years old, but he certainly doesn't behave like someone that old. His lack of humanoid features doesn't help.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Otome]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_5f245edd48.jpg]]
A beluga whale with high levels of intelligence thanks to some human researchers.
----
* ArtificialLimbs: Her bodysuit gives her artificial fingers.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Expresses this sentiment should she turn out to be a Bug.
* InterspeciesRomance: She has a crush on the human scientist who helped create her.
* NiceGirl: She is never anything but sweet to everyone, even as a Gnosia. If she's the Bug and makes it to the end, she'll opt to put herself into cold sleep so she doesn't destroy the universe.
* UpliftedAnimal: A beluga whale who was granted human-level intelligence.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jonas]]
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gnosia_chara_full_jonas.png]]
[[caption-width-right:150:]]
The ship's captain, he's a legendary explorer who's become rather odd in the years since his famous voyage.
----
* AxCrazy: As Gnosia, his pre-existing insanity is jacked up and he's very eager to get going.
* BadBoss: He's clearly quite a handful to work under and he has little regard for loyal service.
* BigDamnHeroes: In the slime-gone-wild loop.
* CloudCuckoolander: Stella notes that he's gone insane over the years, and his occasional random fantasies or weird actions can throw the player off.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: He doesn't give much heed to Stella's years of loyal service, but worships the sociopathic Kukrushka just for her beauty.
* LargeHam: His occasionally bizarre and archaic manner of speech gives him a bent to this.
* TheLostLenore: He once loved a girl named Arya that he lost long ago, and bought the Kukrushka dolls because they resemble her.
* OlderThanTheyLook: His estimated age is 33, but he's actually over a thousand years old and was one of the very first human space explorers.
* SociopathicHero: Has shades of this as an ally.
* SuddenlyShouting: He -- JONAS! -- has a tendency of shouting when he SPEAKS!
* TallDarkAndHandsome: His classically handsome looks are offset a little by being not-altogether-there in the head.
* UngratefulBastard: Despite all that Stella's done for him, he refuses to even mourn her if she dies.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Stella]]
[[quoteright:630:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_234d32ce91.jpg]]
A kind, businesslike woman who runs the ship.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Will murder Jonas under certain conditions.
* TheCaretaker: Her job is to take care of Jonas, a legendary human hero that's gone a bit loopy over the years.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: What her job has devolved into.
* GoodGirlGoneBad: As Gnosia, the chaste and inviolable Stella is turned into a lusty monster desperate to experience "human pleasure", whether you're willing to indulge her or not.
* IsThisWhatAngerFeelsLike: If she's pinned as a definite enemy and voted off, this is her reaction:
-->"This is very... frustrating. So this is what frustration feels like..."
* JackOfAllStats: Has high Logic but the rest of her stats are merely okay.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Her estimated age is 24, but she knows Jonas from when he was in his prime a thousand years ago.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: She's an android, but can still be infected with Gnosia which is a hint to its cybernetic nature.
* SingleTargetSexuality: Downplayed. She is attracted to the male protagonist to the point of tackling him to confess her love (after he comes forward as the Engineer in Loop 4) or trapping him in the ship's lab with the intention of "experiencing human pleasure". This side of hers isn't really apparent when playing as the other gender options (due to her not showing any attraction to the other crew members) besides an off-hand mention of how she enjoys doing something "naughty" with them when winning as Gnosia together. In this context, however, she is referring to killing off the remaining crew via oxygen starvation.
* SlippingAMickey: When losing to Gnosia Stella, she gives the protagonist a cup of tea, which is implied to have been spiked. What she's trying to slip the player is somewhat ambiguous, but given her behavior as Gnosia, it's likely either poison or an aphrodisiac.
* SpaceshipGirl: Her real identity is an avatar of [=LeVi=], the ship's AI.
* TeamMom: Has this attitude down. Taken even further as [=LeVi=].
* WomanScorned: As [=LeVi=], she can freeze Jonas to death if he fails to mourn for his loyal Stella's passing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kukrushka (MAJOR UNMARKED SPOILERS)]]
!Manan
[[quoteright:707:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_ede1c61f9b.jpg]]
A beautiful young girl who never speaks and is adored by Jonas. Is actually Manan, SQ's mother and the mastermind of the plot, possessing a pair of dolls who also possesses her daughter through the Gnosia. She was the Gnosia who killed the protagonist in the first loop, setting off the time loops.
----
* AxCrazy: While everyone will kill as Gnosia, only Kukrushka will attempt to kill everyone but Remnan as crew, or escape from Cold Sleep to keep killing while infected. As Manan, she also has a storied history of rape and murder behind her.
* BigBadEnsemble: She, in SQ's body, was the Gnosia who killed the protagonist, setting off the GroundhogDayLoop, and loops along with the protagonist and Setsu to get her slave Remnan back and become immortal, working for or against the Gnosia and Bugs depending on what role she plays in a given loop.
* BodyBackupDrive: There's a second Kukrushka doll hidden in Jonas's cargo that she can transfer her consciousness into. Just when Setsu begins to believe that they've finally stopped looping and they start making plans for the future, Kukrushka eliminates them during the very next warp despite having been put into cold sleep.
* CuteAndPsycho: Helps that she's holding the immortal consciousness of an actual psychopath.
* CuteMute: She's the cutest, youngest crewmate with high Charm, but never says a word. It's because she's the consciousness of Manan controlling an artisan marionette.
* TheCutie: She's a darling and absolutely adorable.
* CuttingTheKnot: Kukruska will propose that everybody goes into cold sleep except for those on Guard Duty, bypassing the Gnosia threat entirely without putting anyone at risk of dying. But Kukrushka's real plan was to kill everybody so she could have Remnan, the other Guard Duty, to herself.
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: Her estimated age is the youngest of the main cast, and she works it. She'll spam the "regret" action if accused, getting everyone to support her with tears and work her charms on everyone outside of trials, despite truly being the thoroughly nasty adult Manan.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough[=/=]TooDumbToLive: She has ''zero'' logic. As a Gnosia, this means that she can make glaring mistakes such as claiming that she's the Engineer, and then eliminating the real engineer. If a character with high logic is alive, they can immediately use ''Definite Enemy'' on her and send her to cold sleep at once.
* KarmaHoudini: At the end of the game, Manan, despite all of the terrible things she has done in the past, is persuaded to transfer her consciousness into a robot doll and become the new host of Setsu's Silver Key. It's sold to Manan as an opportunity to - in a sense - achieve her goal of immortality by looping time indefinitely, though depending on your own experiences of being trapped in the time loop, it's up to you to decide whether her prize is a poisoned chalice.
* ImmortalitySeeker: Her other main drive behind getting Remnan back is to become immortal. That's why she uploaded her consciousness into her children, and agreed to be put into the Kukrushka doll in exchange for a Key.
* LikeMotherLikeDaughter: Both Kukrushka and SQ have very high Stealth, Performance, and Charm, along with terrible Logic.
* TheMcCoy: She's much more driven by emotions than logic, and will vote based on how much she likes a person more than the evidence.
* PokeThePoodle: Steals Comet's chocolate in one event and tries to trick the player and guilt-trip Comet to get away with it.
* WalkingSpoiler: Her identity is one of the game's biggest secrets, as she's really a doll with the mind of SQ's evil mother Manan and the same person as Gnosia SQ, as well as a time looper just like Setsu and the protagonist and the one who set off the time loop in the first place.

[[quoteright:508:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_6d1c5e6e9e.jpg]]
A timid youth with issues getting close to people thanks to suffering from heavy trauma.
----
* AbsurdlyYouthfulParent: His estimated physical age is nineteen, compared to his potential child SQ, who was grown in an incubation pod, being estimated at twenty-six.
* AxCrazy: His personal expression of the Gnosia plague is very aggressive, in contrast to his usual timid self.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He has one of the worst backstories out of anyone. He was enslaved by SQ's parents, raped and forced to wear a collar that made it so that he couldn't even move without permission, treated as a pet, and was relentlessly hunted down even after escaping.
* DrivenToSuicide: It is heavily implied that he takes his own life in the loop where SQ reveals herself as Remnan's daughter.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Despite being estimated to be a teenager, he claims that the couple that kept him as a slave has been in pursuit of him for decades. Chronologically, he is at least 60 years old, as he previously worked on a spaceship where [[YearInsideHourOutside 50 years passed in the span of four years]]. That is, however, explicitly stated to be a case of him being cryogenically frozen between engineering checks.
* RapeAsBackstory: In his past as a slave, Manan and her husband kept him as a pet, and she taunts him about the possibility that he might have conceived SQ with her. Afterwards, he has a breakdown while repeating that he didn't want it, which culminates in him [[DrivenToSuicide disappearing overnight]].
* SexSlave: All but stated to be his role as the "pet" to SQ's parents, and Manan will try to make him one again as Kukrushka or a Gnosia SQ.
* ShrinkingViolet: He's quiet and shy enough to get him in trouble in debates, as he'll hesitate to speak up for himself.
* SlasherSmile: As Gnosia, all the more unsettling [[ShrinkingViolet coming from him]]. His teeth also seem to be a little sharper than a normal human's...
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: As a Gnosia.
* TraumaButton: He'll freak out if someone speaks to him in a way that can imply attraction, ''especially'' if that someone is SQ.
* UnknownRival: For the player. Out of everyone on the ship, he hates you more than he hates SQ, as much as Setsu dislikes Sha-Ming in fact. [[ShrinkingViolet Good luck figuring that out without cracking open the game files]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sha-Ming]]
[[quoteright:684:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_2dfde25b68.jpg]]
A perverted and selfish man who's more than meets the eye.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: He's always hitting on Setsu, who absolutely despises him.
* AintTooProudToBeg: His ultimate command skill -- ''begging'' not to be sent off to cold sleep. You can learn it too if he succeeds.
* AntiVillain: He's one of the very kindest Gnosia, choosing his victims and methods based on minimizing pain and like Gina will reveal himself to protect the remaining crew under special circumstances.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: As a child, he was friends with a group of intellectualized bonobo monkeys and he had a lot of respect for them, but they were all killed off by the researchers that were studying them when they pissed off an authority.
* DirtyCoward: His stats and playstyle are all geared towards keeping himself alive at any cost. He also has and teaches the "grovel" skill, which lets you cry and beg for a chance to avoid Cold Sleep.
** His Logic and Intuition are both nearly rock bottom, implying that he isn't even paying attention to the discussions or trying to figure out who the infected are. He is counting on everyone else solving the Gnosia crisis for him so he doesn't have to risk being targeted by the infected.
* ExtremeOmnisexual: He'll hit on the agender Setsu, the protagonist no matter what their gender is, invite literally anyone in the crew to confess love for him, and his ending text implies that he's even be open to "inappropriate activities" with hyper-intelligent animals.
** Possibly due to growing up around hyperintelligent Bonobos, a species that is known to resolve social strife with sex.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: His love for animals is one of his more prominent virtues.
* HandsomeLech: Not a bad looking guy, but the second half of this trope is the more obvious.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: He's normally aloof and selfish, but as a Gnosia will admit his protectiveness towards Otome and other animals, as well as the origins of his mistrust. In one timeline, he's also one of the few characters to choose to sacrifice himself to save everyone else as a Gnosia, despite his usual DirtyCoward attitude.
* KilledOffscreen: In one loop, he and Setsu get into a fight before the first debate that ends with him being killed.
* LethalJokeCharacter: An enemy variation, as a Gnosia. There's very little threatening about Sha-Ming, given that his only prominent stat is Stealth, which won't matter much if you as the player are out to get him voted for, and his iconic skill Grovel both sounds silly and is portrayed as much (as it makes things so awkward that everyone just... kind of drops the matter of sending someone to cold sleep). However, said skill is a ''pain'' to deal with, because no matter how silly it is, it means that he and the other Gnosia get to live and kill for another night.
* MercyKill: If he and the player are both Gnosia, he uses this as justification for killing Otome -- he can't see how dying onboard the ship would be ''worse'' than her returning to captivity in a lab.

[[folder:Yuriko]]
[[quoteright:942:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_6_433ebba985.jpg]]
An oddly knowing shrine maiden with mysterious powers.
----
* TheAce: Probably the most dangerous crewmate to have as an enemy. She's very difficult to argue with, often controls the flow of discussion, quickly gains the "Retaliate" skill (which is a ''powerful'' counterattack against anyone who tries to damage her credibility), and turning others against her is futile unless you have a ''lot'' of eager allies or her guilt is indefensible. Forcing her into such a weak position is a rare occurrence in the first place, what with her intense Performance stat. [[StraightForTheCommander Getting rid of her quickly when night falls]] is a good tactic for Gnosia who haven't yet acquired the abilities to deal with her pushback.
* TheComicallySerious: In one late-game event, you can walk in on her cleaning her room while dressed in one of SQ's {{fanservice}}y outfits. She treats all three of your scandalized reactions with the same displeasure.
* ConsummateLiar: Her Performance is very high, making her the hardest liar to spot.
* CrutchCharacter: She can become this to new players in a roundabout way. Provided you're reasonably sure she's not trying to kill you, a valid strategy is to let her control the debate and follow every hunch she has.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Black eyes, black hair.
* HimeCut: Goes with her classically Japanese ProperLady aesthetic and attitude.
* HatesEveryoneEqually: While her usual interactions with you might make you think that she hates you specifically, her "likability" stat, which is hidden from the player, reveals that she feels the same about everyone.
* {{Jerkass}}: She's described as cold and distant, making her a worrisome ally as well as a dangerous enemy. She is introduced immediately proposing that the protagonist should get put into cold sleep, just because anyone will do.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Shortly after she's introduced, she pulls the protagonist aside and does ''something'' to them and removes their PlotArmor, allowing them to be voted off the ship and targeted by the Gnosia like everyone else. She says that their existence is distorted by "the insane gods", which makes it so that nobody even thinks of targeting them.
* MasterOfAll: Her stats are quite fearsome. But as a reflection of how she tends to take over and lead the discussion, she has a low stealth parameter and is more likely to be attacked by the Gnosia.
* MysteriousWaif: She knows more than she lets on, has mysterious powers, and makes the player earn every bit of info they learn from her.
* RedHerring: Her antagonistic behavior, great powers, and the fact that she seems to know more than she lets on, especially in regards to [[GreaterScopeVillain Gnos]] and the [[HatePlague Gnosia plague]], all point to her being the mastermind. She isn't- [[CuteMute Kukrushka]] is.
* SoreLoser: She says "Damned humans..." when voted for cold sleep.

[[folder:Gnos]]
The alien entity that is the source of the Gnosia plague. Is actually a hive mind of cyberized humans who want other human souls to join them in their utopia.
----
* AssimilationPlot: It seeks to assimilate humanity into itself.
* TheGhost: We never see it in its entirety. The closest we get is Gnosia-infected humans.
* GreaterScopeVillain: It is the source of the Gnosia plague, making it responsible for the events of the game, but it never appears physically.
* HiveMind: It is made up of cyberized human souls.
* HumanAllAlong: While initially assumed to be an alien entity, it is actually a HiveMind made up of cyberized human souls.

[[folder:Gnosia]]
The titular enemies of the game, humans who have been infected with the Gnosia plague and seek to kill other humans to bring their souls to Gnos. They can disguise themselves as regular humans, and only a trained Engineer and Doctor can tell the difference, but they can also disguise themselves as such.
----
* AntagonistTitle: The VN is named after the infected humans who disguise themselves as regular humans and try to kill the crew members.
* BigBadEnsemble: With the Bugs and Kukrushka/Manan (whenever she's not Gnosia or the Bug), as they seek to kill the crew to bring their souls to Gnos and will work with or against the Bug and Manan if they see fit.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Being a Gnosia means that one will find killing alright and necessary, even with the rest of one’s morality intact. Best illustrated with the case of Gnosia Gina, who feels intense guilt over lying about murdering but not the murdering itself.
* GracefulLoser: Gnosia will go off to Cold Sleep peacefully, if only because the ship makes it perfectly clear they will be forced if they resist. If a Gnosia has been definitively confirmed, they might even congratulate you.
* ManipulativeBastard: They will attempt to convince the humans that a human is the Gnosia, seek deals with people, and even defend human crew just to increase their trust level.
* SlasherSmile: The crew members who are Gnosia will display these in their portraits in the "Actual Roles" screen after the loop has ended.

[[folder:AC and AC Followers]]
A human religion that worships Gnos and the Gnosia, and aims to help the Gnosia assimilate humanity. The AC Follower on the crew is a human who can lie and will attempt to help the Gnosia by any means possible.
----
* TheDragon: To the Gnosia, helping them take over the ship.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Since the Gnosia do not know who they are, and vice-versa, it is possible for the Gnosia to kill them. Of course, they approve of this as they believe they will join the HiveMind of Gnos.
* TheQuisling: AC is a human pro-Gnosia {{cult}} that want the Gnosia to assimilate humanity into Gnos. The AC Follower will lie and do whatever to help the Gnosia and deceive the crew in their favor.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bug]]
A crew member who is a living error.
----
* BigBadEnsemble: With the Gnosia and Kukrushka/Manan (whenever she is not Gnosia or the Bug), who they will work with or against in order to survive to the end and being about the destruction of the universe.
%%* ParadoxPerson
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Their very existence will destroy the universe if they are allowed to survive to the end.
* PuffOfLogic: They can't be eliminated by the Gnosia, but if they're investigated by an Engineer, they will disappear before the start of the next day. Setsu speculates that they have both of these traits because they don't truly exist.
