Prince Crimson Star (his entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-18-805716067 here]]) is the Alicorn demigod of Psionics, Knowledge, and History, and is the eighth-born son of Emperor Golden Scepter.\

Despite growing up in the lap of luxury, Crimson Star quickly revealed himself to be an incredibly bright student. His mind absorbed whatever he learned like a voracious sponge, and to his teachers' delight, he turned out to be a prodigy in both magic and psionics, being able to perform feats that put him far ahead of his classmates. He was especially lauded for developing precognitive abilities, and he was believed to have a great destiny ahead of him. Because of his great intelligence, Crimson Star would naturally respect and become close to those who were well-learned just like him, including a few of his own brothers like Steel Barricade and Written Word.[WIP]

[[folder:# - B]]
* AbstractApotheosis: He became the Alicorn demigod of Psionics, Knowledge, and History by accepting his blindness and helping those with similar disabilities, while atoning for his InsufferableGenius behavior by helping classmates improve their academic learning, and behaving more cautiously about what he learns and the consequences of doing so. The [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Religions-Part-I-805100338 entry]] for the Scholars of the Stars reveals that he Ascended to demi-godhood by stopping a group of students from performing a dangerous ritual intended to give unlimited knowledge of the past, present, and future, and after he absorbed a huge amount of the knowledge, he refused to let it corrupt or overwhelm him.
* AdaptationalHeroism: [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]] was an InsufferableGenius who [[HeroWithBadPublicity was distrusted and hated for being a psyker]], yet was loyal to his father. He [[FaceHeelTurn turned traitor]] in the Horus Heresy after a rather unfortunate combination of arrogantly pursuing forbidden knowledge, the manipulations of the Chaos gods, and being censured and alienated by the Emperor's actions. Crimson Star, Magnus's Codexverse counterpart, also started out as an arrogant InsufferableGenius, until he was blinded saving a classmate in a carriage accident, and became rather depressed after realizing that [[JerkassRealization he is now no better than those he once deemed beneath his intelligence]]. Thanks to Golden Scepter's love and support, he would come out of his ordeals a much better and heroic person. He would even prevent a similar Codexverse version of the Horus Heresy event from happening during the "Temptation Unbound" conflict by warning his father of what he foresaw, exposing the malicious deities and their worshipers responsible for trying to engineer such a tragedy.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Magnus the Red was too, an InsufferableGenius who preferred to [[NeverMyFault shift the blame on others instead of acknowledging his own flaws and mistakes]], which is what partially and ultimately led to him [[FaceHeelTurn turning to Chaos]] (among other things). Crimson Star, who was based on Magnus, was broken out of the behavior when he was blinded saving a classmate in a carriage accident, and ultimately became a heroic and benevolent character thanks to the positive influence of his friends and loved ones, especially his father. Notably, he has great sympathy for those who are disabled/crippled like he is such as Tempest Shadow, and he praised Sunset Shimmer for letting go of her pride and selfish ambitions. He also befriended Jasper, an Abyssnian ex-Imperial soldier and fellow scholar, which helped the [[ShrinkingViolet previously shy and withdrawn]] Jasper come out of his shell and become more assertive.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: He initially treated Fanged Paw, his older brother, with icy disdain over developing [[AntiMagic Disruption magic]], seeing it as the complete opposite of the psionic sorcery he specialized in. Eventually, Fanged Paw ''snapped'' and bully Crimson Star in turn, even after the latter was blinded and fell into a severe depression over his JerkassRealization. However, after Fanged Paw was exiled by Golden Scepter for giving his own brother a ''vicious'' NoHoldsBarredBeatdown and leaving him near death, Crimson Star would gradually recover and properly achieve CharacterDevelopment by doing good things to make up for his arrogant and disdainful behavior, eventually Ascending to demi-Alicornhood. He would also forgive Fanged Paw for what he had done, something that made Fanged Paw [[TearsOfJoy cry]] when he came back from exile a few years later ([[SandInMyEyes he still denies that he cried of his own volition, however]]). That being said, while he has since reconciled with Fanged Paw, that still doesn't stop them from bickering, annoying, and snarking at each other. One Codexverse drabble had him get into an argument with Fanged Paw over [[BodyCountCompetition how many kills they each got]].
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He's a Terran Alicorn demigod who embodies Psionics, Knowledge, and History post-Ascension. It's believed in-universe that he embodies Golden Scepter's great psychic talent and his voracious thirst for knowledge, which might explain his vast psychic powers, and his intellectual pursuits and behavior.
* AntiRoleModel: Deconstructed. One of his younger brothers, Steel Barricade, idolized him for being so intelligent and good at performing excellently in many academical areas, though he ironically believes that his brother has the potential to become better than him in many ways. Unfortunately, while Crimson Star genuinely loved and respected Steel Barricade as an intellectual and a brother, it didn't stop his own flaws and vices from influencing Steel Barricade to the point where he became an even worse InsufferableGenius that would bully one of their older brothers, Clear Voice, out of petty jealousy. Him being blinded in a carriage accident only made Steel Barricade's behavior even worse. Eventually, Crimson Star got fed up and intervened in a violent duel he instigated with Clear Voice by shielding Clear Voice with his own body and [[CurbStompBattle blowing away Steel Barricade with his psychic powers]], despite still recovering from injuries given by [[BigBrotherBully Fanged Paw]]. In-universe, he acknowledged that he was a very bad influence on Steel Barricade and deeply regrets it, so he has been trying to make amends with his younger brother even to this day.
* TheArchmage: Much like Magnus the Red, his character inspiration, Prince Crimson Star is currently one of ''the'' most powerful psychics in Equus, being surpassed only by his father, Golden Scepter, which is rather fitting since they both embody Psionics. This stemmed from absorbing a huge amount of magic while protecting a group of students from a dangerous ritual they cast to give themselves more knowledge. However, it is believed that Crimson Star has the potential to equal or even surpass Golden Scepter himself one day. According to Princess Twilight, meeting Kúzelník, an older Deer god of Sorcery and a fellow psychic, caused him to "[[{{Squee}} squee]]", and the feeling was mutual.
* AstralProjection: It's noted in his entry that as part of his PsychicPowers, he can produce an astral form of himself for certain attacks, though that leaves him vulnerable to certain spiritual and supernatural threats. This is the same ability that [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]] also possesses. Kúzelník's entry notes that he has the same astral projection ability, which contributed to their mutual {{Squee}} upon meeting each other. He would later teach this ability to [[BlindSeer Prince Healing Song]], who would use it to teach more students.
* TheAtoner: Much like what his father did years before, he would atone for the bad things he had done when he was an InsufferableGenius, which eventually warranted his Ascension to demi-Alicornhood.
** After he was blinded saving a classmate from a runaway, out-of-control carriage, and his attempts to restore his sight were swiftly ended by Golden Scepter (who killed the demon he summoned [[DealWithTheDevil in exchange for a cure]]), Crimson Star became rather depressed and suicidal upon [[JerkassRealization realizing he is now no better than those he deemed beneath him]]. He initially tried atoning for his actions by turning himself into a scapegoat for even his own brothers, [[SuicideByCop fully intending to die]], but was saved by [[BigBrotherInstinct Blazing Hoof]] and taken to the infirmary by [[PapaWolf Golden Scepter]], where he would be [[WhatTheHellHero called out]] for foolishly throwing his life away for atonement, [[DeathSeeker not caring if his loved ones would be affected by his death]]. This would lead to Crimson Star learning the proper way to redeem himself and made amends with those he had wronged by helping them improve their academic learning and practicing complex magical and psychic techniques with them.
*** This ultimately led to his Ascension - despite previously trying to make a DealWithTheDevil to restore his sight, he would later end up foiling a dangerous ritual attempted by a group of students to magically gain knowledge of the past, present, and future. In protecting the students, he absorbed a huge amount of knowledge and refused to let it corrupt/overwhelm him.
** Despite genuinely loving and respecting Steel Barricade as both his brother and intellectual peer, [[LittleBrotherIsWatching his arrogance and other vices would gradually rub off on him until Steel Barricade essentially became a worse version of himself]], being an [[AttentionWhore attention-starved]] yet spiteful GlorySeeker who bore a deeply resentful grudge against their older brother, Clear Voice, in addition to being an InsufferableGenius. While Crimson Star managed to [[MoralityChain keep him on a leash]] (at least until he was blinded), his growing concern for Steel Barricade would create arguments between them whenever he tried correcting the latter's behavior. Steel Barricade challenging Clear Voice to a very destructive duel over an insult was when Crimson Star decided he finally had enough, and risked his own life to break them up by shielding Clear Voice from an incapacitating attack with his own body, and "[[CurbStompBattle blowing Steel Barricade away]]" with his PsychicPowers despite still recovering from injuries given by Fanged Paw. He regretted being such a bad influence for his younger brother that after Steel Barricade became an Alicorn demigod during his exile and had to be persuaded to come home after he went [[WalkingTheEarth globetrotting]] for some more years, Crimson Star apologized to him and has been trying to make amends with him even to this day.
* BadassBookworm: As (supposedly) the living embodiment of Golden Scepter's PsychicPowers and thirst for knowledge, Crimson Star is a very intelligent individual and a well-learned academic scholar, to the point where he was hailed as a prodigy. He's also a HandicappedBadass, having been blinded saving a classmate in a carriage accident, and has since become the commander of his own military chapter, the Thousand Sons, and a MagicKnight who uses his magic/psychic powers to become a really good crackshot.
* BarbarianLonghair: Much like Magnus the Red, he has extremely long and wild hair. It's noted in his entry that his hair is famous even outside the Terran Empire, to the point where he was mistaken for a demon or barbarian by those who don’t know him. It's subverted in that while he's undeniably a badass demigod who is a military leader and psychic prodigy, he was raised a Terran Prince, so he's more a scholarly GeniusBruiser.
* BeAllMySinsRemembered: Part of the reason why he doesn't want to be worshiped is because when he became an InsufferableGenius, he became TheBully and mistreated those he deemed beneath him, including a few of his brothers like Fanged Paw. He feels he doesn't deserve the praise and has been invoking BrokenPedestal to anyone who worships him by bringing up his past. This only gets some people to continue worshiping him, as in their eyes, [[InsaneTrollLogic his active denial of his own divinity makes him truly worthy of worship]].
* BeamSpam: It's noted in his entry that he can fire beams of pure psychic energy.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Like his father, it took him a long time to get to where he is now, but he is a benevolent and heroic demi-Alicorn Prince who is highly respected and beloved by his subjects. And like [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]], he is a HandicappedBadass who is a psychic/magical prodigy who commands his own military unit, the Thousand Sons, and is skilled in combat. In one incident, when he found a group of Terran Pony soldiers bullying a Jasper, a young Terran-Abyssinian soldier he befriended, he was so furious that he yelled at them for their atrocious behavior, and made good on his threat to have them disciplined by letting his father and brothers know of their actions. [[LaserGuidedKarma The tongue-lashing the Pony soldiers received from an equally angry Golden Scepter and his eldest son, Prince Blazing Hoof, was said to have lasted up to "several hours"]].
--> '''Prince Crimson Star:''' ''(angrily)'' I don't CARE if he's a 'rookie', a 'nerd', or 'just plain weak' as you hooligans claim! He may be a 'kitten' to you, but he's MY 'kitten'! And I will NOT tolerate ANYONE who mistreats my friends, even if they aren't under my command! When my Father and brothers hear of this, you'll all be pulled through the wringer so badly, you'll WISH that you never decided to step into the Imperial garrisons at all!
* BigBrotherInstinct: Inverted. After finally getting fed up with Steel Barricade's petty hatred and jealousy towards their older brother, Clear Voice, he would rush out of the royal infirmary himself while the two were engaged in an incredibly destructive duel, and protect Clear Voice by [[TakingTheBullet shielding him from an incapacitating blow with his own body]] and [[CurbStompBattle blowing away]] Steel Barricade with his PsychicPowers, stalling the fight. However, as he was still recovering from injuries given to him by Fanged Paw at the time, the sheer physical strain from the act would reopen some wounds and weaken him greatly.
* BigLittleBrother: Played with. He's significantly larger than most of his family, being dwarfed only by his father, but being the eighth child of his family means that he's one of Golden Scepter's older sons. He's also shorter than Forging Scale, who is famous for being the tallest of his brothers.
* BirdsOfAFeather: His entry notes that his intellectual pursuits would allow him to befriend those who are also well-learned. This includes a few of his brothers, such as Written Word and Steel Barricade. And after he Ascended, he would befriend King Baarish, a divine Elephant, since they shared the same divine domain of Knowledge. He would also develop a FriendlyRivalry with Princess Twilight Sparkle, who is also a very intelligent and magically powerful Alicorn royal like him. He also quickly befriended Kúzelník, the Bogolenya-Church Deer god of Sorcery, whom he shared a mutual {{Squee}} with upon discovering that they're both extremely alike in many ways, such as a thirst for knowledge and incredible talent in magic/psionics/sorcery.
* BlindfoldedVision: He would take to wearing a blindfold in battle after he was blinded saving a classmate from a runaway carriage in his youth. He would develop magical and psychic senses to "see" to make up for his handicap, and after Ascending to demi-Alicornhood, he would start using pegasus magic to detect and avoid weather-related hazards while flying, and Earth pony magic to guide himself by sensing vibrations through the ground.
* BlindSeer: He's a blind Alicorn demigod who has the power of [[{{Seers}} precognition]], though it's noted in his entry that his younger brother, Prince Bright Eyes (who is based on [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Primarch Sanguinius]]) is a more powerful Seer. He originally wasn't blind in his youth, but an accident in which he saved a classmate from a runaway, out-of-control carriage left him horribly injured and took away his sight.
* BlindWeaponmaster: Despite being completely blind, he was able to become a really good crackshot with long-range {{Magitek}} weapons such as crossbows, though he's no slouch with fighting in close quarters, either, as he can fight with a giant-bladed glaive through which he can channel his PsychicPowers for elemental status effects.
* BodyCountCompetition: A Codexverse drabble in Fanged Paw's entry reveals that he and Fanged Paw started bickering over exactly how many demons they killed - after Fanged Paw rubs in his face that he racked up a kill-count that's one more than his brother's, Crimson Star shoots the corpse of a demon that Fanged Paw was sitting on to even things out, then justifies his action with the excuse of "[[InsaneTrollLogic I sensed faint traces of magic still in a long-dead corpse, so therefore it's still alive and counts as a kill]]." They end up nearly coming to blows over this, to their brothers' dismay.
--> '''Prince Blazing Hoof:''' ''(to Bright Eyes)'' Well? Should I separate them or not?\
'''Prince Bright Eyes:''' Don't, Big Brother. They'll sort everything out eventually. If they get knocked out instead... well, we can always drag their bodies back home and tell Father they fell asleep during the trip.
* BreakTheHaughty: The constant praise and special treatment he received for being a ChildProdigy influenced him to become an InsufferableGenius, straining his relationships with his friends and family. Crimson Star's ego would be broken after losing his sight saving a classmate in a carriage accident, but what shattered it even further was when he tried summoning a demon to restore his sight, only for his efforts to be swiftly ended by Golden Scepter, creating a JerkassRealization about his reckless pursuit of knowledge and his arrogant behavior towards those he deemed beneath him. Depressed and suicidal, Crimson Star initially tried to atone by becoming a scapegoat for everyone he had wronged, [[DeathSeeker fully intending to die]]. But after he was saved from a few of his hateful brothers by [[BigBrotherInstinct Blazing Hoof]], and called out on his self-destructive behavior by [[PapaWolf Golden Scepter]], he would properly redeem himself and become a better person by doing a lot of good deeds to make up for his arrogance.
* BrokenAngel: A Codexverse drabble in Fanged Paw's entry reveals that he would have become a hornless unicorn in addition to the NoHoldsBarredBeatdown he received from Fanged Paw and his two other brothers, Death Shroud and Red Blade, as Fanged Paw wanted to make sure that he lose "more than just [your] sight". And because he wanted to atone for his actions as an InsufferableGenius, Crimson Star accepted his fate graciously. Fortunately, it never happened, [[BigBrotherInstinct as a furious Blazing Hoof interfered by unleashing hell on Crimson Star's tormentors]].
* BrokenPedestal: He invokes this whenever someone tries [[StopWorshippingMe worshiping him]], as he doesn't want people to develop BlindObedience or total dependence on him. Being a ReformedBully also has an impact on his religious views, as he believes his own flaws [[BeAllMySinsRemembered makes him undeserving of worship]].
** Beren, a bullying victim, became a devotee after Comic Ink introduced her to the "Scholar of the Stars" faith and prayed to a hidden shrine dedicated to Crimson Star every morning. Crimson Star himself finds this out through a [[{{Seers}} psychic vision]], and proceeds to gently explain to her why he doesn't want to be worshiped by bringing up his past as an InsufferableGenius and TheBully.
* TheBully: Beren's [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Notable-Individuals-5-846229224 entry]] reveals that during his InsufferableGenius phase, he behaved similarly to Pristine Mind, who bullied and mistreated those she deemed beneath her intelligence. He changed after being blinded in a carriage accident and witnessing the consequences of his actions in Steel Barricade, but [[MyGreatestFailure he still feels guilty for what he did]]. Beren, who worshiped Crimson Star, was [[BrokenPedestal shocked and heartbroken]] when she learns of this, but Crimson Star takes the chance to use this as a reason why he [[StopWorshippingMe doesn't want to be worshiped]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:C - E]]
* CallingTheOldManOut: Inverted. While he was recovering in the royal infirmary from injuries given by Fanged Paw, Death Shroud, and Red Blade, Crimson Star would be called out by Golden Scepter for scapegoating and torturing himself excessively for the sake of atonement, not caring if his friends and family would be affected if he were to die. This, along with Golden Scepter's support, would help him break out of his self-destructive behavior and become a truly better person, and also give him the inspiration to name his military chapter, the Thousand Sons.
--> '''Emperor Golden Scepter:''' ''(to Prince Crimson Star)'' I do not care if I have a thousand sons, or twenty or five, [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre you are STILL no less deserving of MY love and praise, Crimson Star, for you and your brothers are of my own flesh and blood]]. And I will NOT stand by and watch while you torture yourself excessively for the sake of atonement. Even if you HAVE acted like an arrogant and reckless hooligan as of late, there are better ways to redeem yourself and make amends with those you have wronged. Forsaking your potential, your future, and even your own life by turning yourself into a scapegoat for our little ponies to blame is NOT one of them.
* CallItKarma: Although the carriage accident that blinded him was actually caused by a worker's slip-up, it did lead to a long BreakTheHaughty process for him. He now believes his blindness was a "punishment" for behaving like an InsufferableGenius and a bully.
* CategoryTraitor: Like Steel Barricade, he had been targeted by tribalist groups for "sullying" his blood by [[DeityOfHumanOrigin Ascending to demi-godhood]]. One such incident involved unicorn tribalists from the Children of Platinum faction trying to assassinate him during a diplomatic conference in the Principalities of Equestria, which was thankfully foiled by [[BigBrotherInstinct Fanged Paw]]. Fanged Paw was [[TranquilFury enraged]] when he discovered that one of the tribalists [[{{Hypocrite}} is a So Soft Pony]]. This factored into the Terran Empire's decision to have them be tried by Princess Twilight/Amicitia Sparkle, herself a So Soft Pony and a bitter enemy of tribalists.
* CompositeCharacter: While mostly based on [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]] (red-skinned/haired individual who's significantly taller than most of his brothers, is an extremely powerful mage/psychic who dedicated himself to higher learning, and suffers from a sight-related disability), he also has elements of [[Literature/{{Slayers}} Rezo the Red Priest]] (a highly respected sorcerer who lost his sight at some point and resorted to deplorable means to restore his vision), though the latter part was stated to be [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/805716067/4756140795 completely unintentional]]. Unlike both characters, though, he is much more heroic in deeds and personality.
* CoolUncle:
** Crimson Star is one to Mercy, his adoptive "niece". Despite Mercy being a sapient sword, he loves and respects her as part of his family, and is [[PapaWolf willing to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon]].
** Crimson Star is also one to Rosy Dreams, a sexually abused filly - Rosy's entry notes that sometime after she was adopted by Bright Eyes, he would tutor her in using her budding PsychicPowers, and was one of her psychically-inclined uncles who helped Mentálne rebuild Rosy's dream world to get rid of [[AbusiveParents Sweet Words]]' malicious influence.
** Following Temnobog and Belyolen's official adoption into the Terran Royal Family, Crimson Star became a grand-uncle to the Deti Uzhasov, the [[MassiveNumberedSiblings extremely numerous]] infernal children of the Four Terrors. Since he became friends with a few of them previously, Crimson Star also counts as a Cool Uncle for them.
* CurbStompBattle: While interfering with the duel between Steel Barricade and Clear Voice, he blows the former away with his PsychicPowers while shielding the latter from an incapacitating blow with his own body, though at great cost to himself as he was still recovering from injuries previously given to him by [[BigBrotherBully Fanged Paw]]. This led to Steel Barricade's exile, as he was too shocked by Crimson Star's interference to notice an enraged Golden Scepter arriving to see the destruction inflicted on the Terran Empire until it was too late.
* DealWithTheDevil:
** After he was blinded saving his classmate from an out-of-control carriage, he tried researching ways to restore his sight, including summoning eldritch and demonic forces. However, his research would be swiftly ended by Golden Scepter, which contributed to his spiral into a deep depression, [[JerkassRealization having realized that he's now on the same level as those he had dismissed and wronged]]. Unfortunately for him, the fact that he tried making a deal with demonic forces in the first place was what factored into his eye injuries becoming permanently untreatable, though it's still debated on whether the nether energies present had tainted his eye injuries, or Golden Scepter's intervention had left the state of his son's eyes "incomplete" as the demon was in the middle of performing the transaction.
** It's noted by his entry that his blindness makes him likely to pause if someone offers him a way to restore his sight, but after going through CharacterDevelopment, he would turn the offers down in the end, as they almost always contain some huge price to pay in return.
** In another incident, when he visited the Bogolenya Deer pantheon, Pokhot, Temnobog's youngest daughter and the goddess of Lust and Pride, tried tempting Crimson Star into pursuing forbidden knowledge again, as well as researching ways to restore his sight. Crimson Star would ultimately turn her down after realizing he'll pay heavy prices for accepting. [[KarmicJackpot This impressed Pokhot so much that she gave him genuine words of praise, as well as a gift in the form of a tome containing information on lost civilizations]].
** Exploited in another incident involving his friend, Jasper, and the Bogolenya Deer Pantheon. According to Jasper, he [[{{Seers}} foresaw]] one of Pokhot's sons, a Bogolenya Deer god of Pride, Deception, and Evil, [[FaceHeelTurn becoming a Fallen deity]] and causing much destruction. To prevent this, Crimson Star made a risky gambit where he "lost" his soul in a devil's deal, and instructed Jasper to ''lose'' the ensuing card game that will decide the fate of his soul. It worked - not only did the Deer god [[VillainousBreakdown have his pride shaken over nearly losing to a mere mortal]], he was also spectacularly humiliated when [[PapaWolf a protective Golden Scepter]] arrived and [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice repeatedly and mercilessly poked him]] into giving up Crimson Star's soul.
** In a huge irony, it's revealed that what led to his Ascension was his attempt to stop a group of students from using a dangerous magic ritual to give themselves knowledge of the past, present, and future. In protecting the students, he ended up absorbing a huge amount of the magic that was intended for the students, yet refused to let it overwhelm/corrupt him in any way. This turned him into the Alicorn of Psionics, Knoweldge, and History.
* DeathSeeker: His entry notes that he became [[HeroicBSOD rather depressed]] following the loss of his sight and his JerkassRealization, to the point where he became suicidal and turned himself into a scapegoat, [[SuicideByCop knowing that he'll die]]. It's deconstructed and played for drama - when Blazing Hoof found Crimson Star being [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beaten up]] by a few other brothers, he protected him alone until [[PapaWolf Golden Scepter]] intervened and took his eighth son to the royal infirmary. Afterwards, Golden Scepter would call out Crimson Star for torturing himself excessively for the sake of atonement, not caring about how he would affect those who genuinely loved and cared about him if he were to die. Learning of this trope would also cause ''Fanged Paw'' to [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone realize just how far he had fallen]], as he only wanted to make Crimson Star pay for his arrogant behavior, not ''kill him''.
* DeityOfHumanOrigin: He was once a mortal demi-divine unicorn, but would go through an InsufferableGenius phase until he was injured and blinded saving a classmate from a runaway, out-of-control carriage. The revelation that his blindness became permanently incurable (thus becoming no better than those he mistreated) contributed to [[BreakTheHaughty his ego shattering]], though he had to be helped by his family when he developed unhealthy methods of atonement, such as turning himself into a scapegoat. Eventually, he would become an immortal demi-Alicorn by [[TheAtoner doing a lot of good deeds to make up for his arrogant behavior]], such as helping his classmates improve their academic learning, practicing complicated magical techniques with them, and protecting a foolish group of students from a dangerous magic ritual designed to grant knowledge of the past, present, and future. The fact that he was able to Ascend in the years [[BigBrotherBully Fanged Paw]] was gone in exile surprised his older brother when he came back a few years later. His Ascension to demi-godhood also serves as a stark contrast to [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]], who became a [[DemonOfHumanOrigin Daemon Prince]] from joining the Chaos gods.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: Played with. [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus]]'s loss of one of his eyes in canon [[DependingOnTheWriter depended on who wrote him]] -- either he was a mutant born with only one eye, or he once had two eyes but gave one away when he made a [[DealWithTheDevil pact]] with the Chaos god Tzeentch. Here, Crimson Star starts off with perfect sight, then becomes completely blind after saving a classmate in a carriage accident that left him horribly injured.
* DisabledSnarker: He may be completely blind, but that doesn't stop him from snarking.
** His entry notes that while he and his older brother, Fanged Paw, had forgiven each other for what they did to the other and reconciled, they still snark at each other as part of a vitriolic but otherwise loving relationship. When Fanged Paw tried to persuade Inquisitor Adamantia Plutus to approve his request for a military-grade steam car by having [[NobleWolf Unna]] do PuppyDogEyes, Crimson Star has this to say:
---> '''Prince Crimson Star:''' ''(flatly)'' Brother... have you had a stressful day?
** He also reacts nonchalantly to a Griffon Autorist's attempt to kill his father with a [[MysticalPlague magical plague bomb]] as if it's an everyday occurrence, only advising, "[[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice Just refrain from breathing through your noses, and we should be fine]]."
* DisabilitySuperpower: As noted in his entry, he was taught how to use his own magic as his "eyes" after he was blinded, allowing him to sense and see magic. After he Ascended to demi-godhood, his magical senses would include the weather-attuned sense of the pegasi, and the ground-based vibrations that would be detected by Earth ponies. His sense of hearing and touch are also finely tuned than the average sapient. And being the Alicorn demigod of Psionics, he can use {{Telepathy}} to form {{Psychic Link}}s with others to [[SeeingThroughAnothersEyes see through them]]; one example is his Abyssinian friend Jasper, who sometimes serves as his agent by making himself BeneathNotice and sneaks into places unnoticed.
* DisabledDeity: Well, 'demigod' in his case. He was previously an InsufferableGenius, but then he got horribly injured in a carriage accident caused by a worker's slip-up after he pushed a classmate out of the way of a runaway carriage, costing him his eyes. His blindness was treatable then, but it later became [[WoundThatWillNotHeal permanently untreatable]] thanks to a combination of a failed DealWithTheDevil to restore his sight, the JerkassRealization and suicidal depression that followed, and the vicious bullying he received from a few of his brothers. Golden Scepter refused to give up on him, however, and helped him adapt to his blindness as best as he could by teaching him how to use magic to get around and hiring certain people to make reading materials that he's able to read without sight. He has since accepted his blindness, and sees it as both a sign that he was 'punished' for his foolishness and a reminder of what'll happen should he become arrogant again.
* DivineParentage: Is the eighth demi-divine son of [[GodEmperor Emperor Golden Scepter]] and Blessed Skies, a mortal pegasus mare. This would make him LongLived until he Ascended and became an Alicorn demigod.
* DreamWeaver: It's implied that having telepathy makes him capable of this to some degree. Rosy Dreams' entry mentions that some of Rosy's psychically-inclined uncles helped Mentálne rebuild Rosy's dream world to get rid of [[AbusiveParents Sweet Words]]' malicious influence, implying that Crimson Star was among them. This is later confirmed with Sweet Words' [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Heroes-and-Villains-24-833374860 entry]].
* EatenAlive: A [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/865347817/4896457069 drabble]] revealed a fight with [[{{Characters/CodexEquusMalregnarEmpire}} Prince Excelsius]], Vicearch Iniquitous' firstborn Princeling of Vice from Malregnar, ended with Crimson Star and four of his brothers being consumed and assimilated by Excelsius into his being to prevent them from interfering with one of Excelsius' Vicelieges and his allied overlords' plans, though he and his brothers managed to help break Prince Blazing Hoof and eventually themselves out. Thanks to learning certain dark magic spells from a divine family friend, [[TheArchmage Prince Varázsló]], Prince Crimson Star was able to gather enough power from the collective pride of all the other mortals, demons, gods and other beings Prince Excelsius had swallowed needed for their escape plan to work.
* TheEmpath: His entry notes that one of the abilities inherited from his father is far-reaching psychic empathy. However, it didn't stop him from becoming an InsufferableGenius due to his ego being inflated by constant praise for being a prodigy, leading to him mistreating anyone he deems beneath his intelligence, including a few of his brothers. Only after he was blinded in a carriage accident, [[JerkassRealization realized his mistakes]], and went through hell did he gain his empathy for others back. In one incident, when he and Night Shade went to Trench Bull's boarding school to investigate a sudden eruption of psychic energy and came across the [[ClosetPunishment Chokey]], he experienced the sheer fright and despair left behind by the psychic residue of every Pony and non-Pony student that was trapped in there. This nearly led to a [[HeroicBSOD breakdown]] until Night Shade dragged him away to a safer place.
* EndearinglyDorky: For all his faults, he can be this at times.
** He genuinely ''enjoyed'' learning, and he tends to get really excited and talkative regarding things he liked. And out of all the subjects he learned, History is his most favorite, to the point where he could [[MotorMouth go for hours]] if he were to discuss anything related to it.
** According to Princess Twilight/Amicitia Sparkle, he shared a mutual {{Squee}} with Kúzelník, the Bogolenya-Church Deer god of Sorcery, upon meeting him and discovering [[BirdsOfAFeather they're both extremely alike in so many ways]].
* EyesAlwaysShut: Justified. It's noted in his entry that his eyes are scarred and often closed, which came from being blinded in an accident after he saved a classmate from a runaway, out-of-control carriage. A horrible combination of severe emotional/mental depression and trauma, and getting [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown viciously beaten up]] by a few hateful brothers, permanently "locked" his injuries into stasis, erasing any chance he might have in getting his injuries healed even metaphysically.
* EyeScream: His entry notes that on the day of his accident, his attempts to save a classmate from a runaway, out-of-control carriage left him horribly injured. One of the most prominent of his injuries listed was his loss of sight. An entry addendum reveals that the carriage accident more than just physically injured him, it also damaged ''his very soul''. The trauma from losing his eyesight in general, combined with suffering from severe emotional/mental depression from [[JerkassRealization realizing the folly of his intellectual arrogance]] and letting himself serve as a scapegoat for everyone he had wronged - including his own brothers - had ingrained themselves so deeply into his psyche that it [[WoundThatWillNotHeal permanently "locked" his eye injuries into some kind of stasis, making even metaphysical healing impossible]]. His failed attempts in [[DealWithTheDevil summoning demonic forces to make a bargain in exchange for healing his eyes]] have factored in his injuries becoming permanent, too, though it's still debated on whether the nether energies present had tainted his eye injuries, or Golden Scepter's intervention had left the state of his son's eyes "incomplete" as the demon was in the middle of performing the transaction.

[[folder:F - I]]
* FantasticSlurs: Discussed. When his adoptive niece, [[TalkingWeapon Mercy]], asks him why they can't use "badass" in place of "bad-flank", he tells her that "ass" is a racial slur that refers to donkeys specifically. He then warns Mercy not to swear in front of Golden Scepter or [[ParentalSubstitute Red Blade]] anyways as they'll both have a fit over it.
--> '''Mercy:''' 'Bad-flank' sounds weird. Why can't we say 'badass' instead?\
'''Prince Crimson Star:''' Because 'ass' is a racial slur that refers to donkeys. It's as offensive to them as 'mud-hooves', 'horn-freaks' and such are offensive to us. That's why 'bad-flank' is more accepted because it's less racially-charged and as it suggests, only refers to an Equine's behind... Just don't say it around Red Blade or Father. They'll have a fit if they catch you swearing.\
'''Mercy:''' Awwww...
* {{Forgiveness}}: He would eventually forgive [[BigBrotherBully Fanged Paw]] for bullying him and [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beating him up]] after he was blinded while the latter was in exile. When he told his older brother this during their mutual apology a few years later, Fanged Paw was so affected by it that he began crying TearsOfJoy (which he [[SandInMyEyes denies]] to this day). Fanged Paw would also forgive him for the bullying he received from him in turn, leading to their mutual reconciliation.
* FriendlyRivalry: It's mentioned in his entry that he has a friendly rivalry with Princess Twilight/Amicitia Sparkle of Equestria, due to both of them being very powerful and intelligent royals.
* FriendlySniper: While he wasn't so "friendly" before, as he was once an arrogant and InsufferableGenius, he eventually atoned for his actions and redeemed himself following his [[EyeScream blinding]] in a carriage accident and his JerkassRealization, [[DeityOfHumanOrigin becoming an Alicorn as a result]]. He's also a really good crackshot who can pick off enemies from afar with long-range {{Magitek}} weapons like crossbows, even though he's also capable of fighting in close quarters.
* GameBreakingInjury: He was permanently blinded in an accident when he saved a classmate from a runaway, out-of-control carriage, horribly injuring himself in the process. In a canonized conversation between him and Tempest Shadow, Crimson Star explains that magic-casters heavily rely on sight to perform spells, so his blindness made him a cripple in the eyes of both the public and the magic community. An entry addendum reveals that the accident that physically crippled him also injured ''his soul'', as the trauma from the accident and the severe depression he would suffer "locked" his eye injuries into permanent stasis, while his attempted DealWithTheDevil to gain his eyesight back also played a part in it. This is what partially contributed to his suicidal mindset, believing that he wouldn't accomplish anything again, or resume his intellectual pursuits. Fortunately, Golden Scepter teaching him how to use his psionic magic to "see", while pulling multiple strings to have specialists craft unique books, texts, and scrolls that Crimson Star can still read - all so that his eighth son can still have a future - allowed him to ultimately adapt to his situation.
* GentleGiant: Double-subverted. He's [[BigLittleBrother larger than most of his brothers]], being only dwarfed by his father. While he did behave like an arrogant InsufferableGenius for a time, he TookALevelInKindness after he was blinded in a carriage accident and had a JerkassRealization in regards to his actions. Now he's a genuinely benevolent Prince who helps those who either struggled with learning, or had been crippled like he was. After [[EmpathicWeapon Mercy]] and [[ShrinkingViolet Rosy Dreams]] were adopted into the royal family by his younger brothers, Red Blade and Bright Eyes, he became a CoolUncle for both of his nieces, and was implied to have helped rebuild Rosy Dreams' MentalWorld so she wouldn't be affected by [[AbusiveParents Mr. Boar]]'s psychic influence anymore.
* TheGift: He was born with incredible innate psychic/magic potential, as well as great intelligence and capacity for learning. It was believed in-universe that his talents came from being born the living embodiment of Golden Scepter's PsychicPowers and his voracious thirst for knowledge. However, being praised and given attention constantly for being a prodigy slowly turned him into an InsufferableGenius of the highest order... until being [[EyeScream blinded]] saving a classmate in a carriage accident and having a JerkassRealization afterwards [[BreakTheHaughty shattered his ego completely]] and humbled him. This allowed him to become much kinder and use his talents for good.
* HandicappedBadass: ''Oh yes''. After getting into a carriage accident, [[TheArchmage Prince Crimson Star]] was blinded, and it became permanent due to various factors rendering it [[WoundThatWillNotHeal incurable]]. Despite this, he was still able to learn physical combat and [[BlindWeaponmaster use long-ranged magitek weapons]]. His psychic potential and capabilities haven't diminished at all, either, as he gained more abilities after being blinded to make up for his disability. What also led to him earning demi-godhood was protecting a group of students from an extremely dangerous ritual, absorbing a lot of power and knowledge in the process. In battles, he would [[SiblingTeam team up with Fanged Paw]], with their respective strengths/skills [[SwordAndSorcerer complimenting each other]] and making both of them devastating in the field.
* HeroicBSOD:
** He would fall into a severe depression following both his failed attempts to get his eyesight back, and his JerkassRealization that he is now no better than those he deemed beneath his intelligence. This led to Crimson Star becoming [[DeathSeeker suicidal]] and turning himself into a scapegoat so everyone he had wronged, including his own brothers, [[PayEvilUntoEvil can retaliate against him as they saw fit]]. Fortunately, [[BigBrotherInstinct Blazing Hoof protected him]] when Fanged Paw, Death Shroud, and Red Blade each gave him a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown, allowing [[PapaWolf Golden Scepter]] to intervene and take Crimson Star to the infirmary to heal. An entry addendum reveals that the depression he went through was what partially factored into his blindness [[WoundThatWillNotHeal becoming permanently untreatable]], as his traumas and experiences deeply ingrained themselves into his psyche and "locked" his injuries into permanent stasis.
** In another incident, while investigating Trench Bull's boarding school with Night Shade and coming across the [[ClosetPunishment Chokey]], he would [[TheEmpath experience the sheer fright and despair from the psychic residue left behind by every single Pony and non-Pony student previously trapped in there]]. This nearly led to a breakdown, but fortunately, it's narrowly averted when Night Shade instead dragged him away to a safer place.
** Night Shade's entry reveals that shortly after Ascending to demi-godhood, he got into an argument with Night Shade over receiving little punishment for his actions and becoming an Alicorn, leading to Night Shade shouting that he wished Crimson Star "died in penance that fateful night instead of living on to earn his wings". Crimson Star was so hurt by this that he fell into another severe depression afterwards, causing [[BigBrotherInstinct Fanged Paw]] to [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat up]] Night Shade in a [[TranquilFury cold fury]] until Written Word and Bright Eyes separated them.
* HeroicLineage: He is the eighth son of Golden Scepter, an antediluvian Alicorn Emperor who is an incredibly powerful psychic, a peerless genius and warrior, and a very competent leader who founded three empires in his lifetime. In addition, he's regarded as a legendary war hero even among the Alicorns, who were all saved from complete extinction thanks to his efforts. It is believed in-universe that he embodies a certain aspect of his father, namely Golden Scepter's psychic powers and voracious thirst for knowledge in general.
* HeroicSacrifice: Downplayed. Despite being an InsufferableGenius at the time, he still had enough compassion in him to save a classmate from being hit by a runaway carriage caused by a worker's slip-up. It led to him being blinded, which later became [[WoundThatWillNotHeal permanently untreatable]] thanks to a combination of a JerkassRealization, the suicidal depression that stemmed from it and losing his sight, and the vicious bullying he received from a few of his brothers.
* HeroismIncentive: In his quest to uncover the long-defunct Weathersmith Order's lost lore before the Pegasus tribalists do, he personally funded various adventurers to help find it, including one Daring Do/A.K. Yearling. The importance of the task is such that he had to ensure the adventurers he lent his patronage to were very competent ''and'' trustworthy, in order to prevent sabotage as well.
* HeroWorship:
** It's mentioned in his entry that pre-Ascension, he looked up to his father, Golden Scepter, for being not only a peerless genius, but also a powerful magic-user and psychic.
** He would ironically be worshiped in turn by his younger brother, Steel Barricade, who idolized him for being a genius who performed well in almost everything, including magic and psionics. This is ironic since Crimson Star himself believed that Steel Barricade has the potential to surpass him in many ways. However, it's deconstructed in that despite genuinely loving and respecting his brother, Crimson Star would become an AntiRoleModel after falling into arrogance and other vices, gradually influencing Steel Barricade to become even worse than him. He would realize the error of his ways when he saw the grudge that would develop between Steel Barricade and Clear Voice, and ultimately chose to protect Clear Voice from their younger brother by shielding him with his own body and blowing Steel Barricade away with his own powers, even at great cost to himself. He would try to make amends with Steel Barricade after the latter Ascended and was convinced to come back home, having realized what an awful role model had been, which is still going to this day.
* IgnoringBySinging: Apparently, after Golden Scepter started telling stories about the Alicorn Civilization's FreeLoveFuture as well as [[ParentalSexualitySquick his own sex life]] to his sons, he was so [[TooMuchInformation disgusted and horrified]] that he would shortly be seen running out of the royal Terran palace, [[IgnoringBySinging screaming and singing all the way]].
--> '''Prince Crimson Star:''' '''''[[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice LA LA LA LA LA, I CAN'T HEAR THIS, I DON'T WANT TO BE ON THIS PLANET ANYMORE!!!]]'''''
* InspirationallyDisadvantaged: Averted. Originally, he wasn't blind, but he was such an InsufferableGenius that after he was blinded saving a classmate from a runaway carriage, he was [[SenseLossSadness rather depressed by it]], and eventually [[CallItKarma came to believe that his blindness was a "punishment" for his own foolishness]]. He did manage to become an Alicorn demigod later on, but it's because he [[TheAtoner made amends for his bad behavior]] and used his knowledge and talents for good, not because he became disabled. In addition, despite his royal demi-divine status and great power, he is flawed like any other person, and his relationships with some of his brothers, like Fanged Paw, can get vitriolic.
* InsufferableGenius: Deconstructed.
** Being praised and given special treatment for being an academic/magical prodigy caused him to believe that he's a peerless genius who can only be matched by the best, like his father, a few of his brothers, and his friends at school who also pursued higher learning. Anyone who don't fit his academic standards are deemed beneath him and not worth his time. Then he lost his eyesight saving a classmate in a carriage accident, and all attempts to restore his eyesight were swiftly ended by Golden Scepter, as they involved [[DealWithTheDevil the summoning of demons and other eldritch beings]]. This left him feeling rather depressed, [[JerkassRealization realizing that he's become no better than those he previously dismissed]], to the point where he let those who were wronged by him, including his own brothers, [[PayEvilUntoEvil retaliate against him as they saw fit]]. Fortunately, the benevolent influence of those who cared about him, especially Golden Scepter, would help him break out of his self-destructive behaviors and become a truly better person.
** It's later revealed in Steel Barricade's entry that he was also responsible for Steel Barricade's arrogant and petty behavior, having gradually influenced his younger brother to become just like him with his own vices. As his younger brother got worse, however, Crimson Star realized what a bad role model he had been for him and tried to set things right, first by risking his own life to protect Clear Voice from Steel Barricade when their duel quickly got out of hand, and then by making amends with him for his misdeeds after Steel Barricade Ascended during his exile and was convinced to come back home, something that's still ongoing.
* InterclassFriendship: Despite being a demi-Alicorn Prince, he befriended Jasper, a young Terran-Abyssinian Imperial soldier, over sharing a love for books and history. This would consequently protect Jasper from being tormented by Terran Pony soldiers, [[LaserGuidedKarma who got yelled at by Crimson Star and then disciplined by his father and oldest brother once they caught wind of bullying within their armies]]. The fact that [[spoiler:[[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice it happened before between an Imperial Custodes Captain-General and Scarlet Vortex, a magically-inclined Golden General]], influenced Golden Scepter to make Jasper a Companion for his eighth son out of a desire to encourage their friendship]].
* InterspeciesFriendship:
** He befriended King Baarish, the Elephant god of Water and Knowledge, for both having the same domain of Knowledge as he does and for having a PhotographicMemory.
** He befriended a young Abyssinian Terran Imperial soldier named Jasper, due to him sharing his love for history and books. When Crimson Star learned that Jasper was being constantly bullied by a group of Terran Pony soldiers, he proceeded to furiously yell at them for their atrocious behavior, and made good on his threat to let his family know by informing them of what happened. Golden Scepter approved of Crimson Star's friendship with Jasper so much that he made Jasper his Companion; by his own admission, [[spoiler:he was reminded of [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice a similar friendship between an oft-ridiculed and disrespected Imperium era Custodes Captain-General and one of his magically-inclined Golden Generals, Scarlet Vortex]], and wanted to encourage it]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:J - O]]
* JerkassRealization: After being blinded saving a classmate in a carriage accident, having his attempts to restore his eyesight through [[DealWithTheDevil forbidden magic]] swiftly ended by Golden Scepter, and learning his eye injuries became [[WoundThatWillNotHeal permanently untreatable]] partially because of his actions, Crimson Star realized that he is now no better than those he deemed beneath his intelligence, and became rather depressed as a result. It got to a point where he became suicidal and turned himself into a scapegoat for everyone he had wronged, including a few of his brothers like Fanged Paw, [[SuicideByCop knowing full well that he'll die]]. Fortunately, [[BigBrotherInstinct Blazing Hoof]] and [[PapaWolf Golden Scepter]] intervened, with the latter calling him out for forsaking his own life [[DidntThinkThisThrough without thinking about how his family and friends would be affected]]. Fortunately, thanks to the benevolent influence of those who genuinely loved him, he was able to learn how to properly redeem himself and become a truly better person.
* KeepingTheHandicap: He initially tried to restore his sight after he was blinded in a carriage accident, but a combination of various factors - his brothers' bullying, his trauma and depression, and his failed attempt to make a DealWithTheDevil - left his blindness permanently untreatable even by metaphysical healing. It's noted that he sees his blindness as a "punishment" for his InsufferableGenius behavior, which factored into his refusal to let others tempt him by offering to restore his sight. Another reason is that even if someone tried, they wouldn't be able to heal him anyway since his injuries were "locked" in permanent stasis.
* LackOfEmpathy: Double-subverted. While he does have [[TheEmpath psychic empathy]] like his father, it didn't stop him from becoming an InsufferableGenius, as his ego had inflated so much that he couldn't be bothered to associate with those he deemed beneath his intelligence. It was only after he was blinded saving a classmate in an accident, going through a rather depressing JerkassRealization, and being helped by his benevolent friends and family members, was he able to regain his empathy for others.
* LargeAndInCharge: Much like [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]], he's taller than most of his brothers, even prior to Ascension to demi-godhood, dwarfed only by his father and Forging Scale, the tallest of the Terran Princes. He's also a benevolent Prince and a major political leader, as well as a military commander in his father's empire.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Due to being a demi-Alicorn god of Knowledge and History, some of his abilities revolve around this. He can alter and even outright erase people's memories, causing them to forget things like walking or talking; in the case of History, this is shown by having parts of his victims' inner "history books" being obscured or erased entirely. It's noted in his entry that Crimson Star avoids using this ability because he ''hates'' the idea of crippling someone permanently, thus subjecting them to the same hardships he had gone through after he was blinded.
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** He became an InsufferableGenius from being praised for being a magical/psychic prodigy, and would mistreat and dismiss those he deemed beneath his intelligence, in turn straining his relationships with his friends and family. He later lost his eyesight saving a classmate in a carriage accident, and the trauma from it damaged his soul, with it becoming one of the factors in his eye injuries being rendered permanently untreatable. Because magic users in general are heavily reliant on sight to learn new spells, Crimson Star's blindness made him no better than those he once looked down upon. In addition, he would be viciously bullied by both his classmates and a few of his brothers, such as Fanged Paw, Death Shroud, and Red Blade, as a form of retaliation. It's later deconstructed in that Crimson Star, having become rather depressed and suicidal from his blinding and his subsequent JerkassRealization, turned himself into a scapegoat out of sheer guilt, [[SuicideByCop knowing full well that he'll die at the hooves of his victims]]. This would climax into an incident where Blazing Hoof would defend him from Fanged Paw and his other brothers alone, causing Golden Scepter to intervene before things got too bloody.
** The trope is reconstructed afterwards when, after Crimson Star was taken to the royal infirmary to recover from his injuries, Golden Scepter called his son out on being willing to forsake everything to torture himself excessively to atone for his actions, not caring how his potential death might affect those who genuinely loved him, and pointed out that there are ''better'' ways for Crimson Star to achieve redemption and forgiveness than turning himself into a scapegoat. It was thanks to his father's benevolent influence that Crimson Star was able to break out of his self-destructive mindset and truly become a better person.
* LongRangeFighter: Double-subverted. He is quite capable of participating in close combat, and like [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Magnus the Red]], he wields a tall, large-bladed glaive through which he can channel his psychic powers. However, he prefers to use his magic as well as long-range weapons to pick off his enemies from afar, such as {{Magitek}} crossbows that allow him to use his psychic magic as ammunition. A Codexverse drabble has Fanged Paw poke fun at this by calling him a "magic-slinging bookworm who'd rather take potshots at the enemy" during their BodyCountCompetition argument.
* MagicHair: He gained this after Ascending to demi-Alicornhood, despite being the equivalent of an infant divine. Because he's so magically powerful with lots of inner potential, his hair began changing much earlier than expected, such as a [[SupernaturalFloatingHair perpetual ripple]] and showing signs of a spatial appearance, displaying stars and even suns. Absorbing a portion of the magical knowledge given by a dangerous ritual attempted by a group of students may have had a part in this, too.
* MagicKnight: While he's an incredibly powerful mage and a learned scholar first and foremost, he was still able to learn the ways of physical combat and weaponry, [[HandicappedBadass despite being completely blind]]. He is capable of fighting in close quarters, but he prefers to [[LongRangeFighter pick off his enemies from afar]]. His military chapter, the Thousand Sons, are also highly adept warrior-mages, and its chapter's relatively small size has not diminished their effectiveness at all.
* TheMagnificent: Known as "the Red Scholar", for being a red-furred pony (and later, an Alicorn demigod) who pursues higher learning and other intellectual pursuits.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: He's the eighth-born son out of Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies' demi-divine children, and has seven older brothers and eleven younger brothers. Later, [[spoiler:Kúzelník is officially adopted into the family by Golden Scepter, making him and Crimson Star brothers by adoption]].
* MeaningfulName:
** It's stated in-universe by Crimson Star that his military chapter, the Thousand Sons, was named after something Golden Scepter said to him while he was recovering from injuries given by [[BigBrotherBully Fanged Paw]] in the royal infirmary. That "something" was revealed to be Golden Scepter calling Crimson Star out on [[SilentScapegoat forsaking even his own life]] for the sake of [[TheAtoner atonement]], not caring how his potential death might affect those who genuinely loved him, while assuring his son that [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre even if he had a thousand sons, he still sees Crimson Star as no less deserving of his fatherly love and praise than any of his brothers]].
** Crimson Star's own name also counts, being a red-furred pony who was treated as a "star" by almost everyone due to being a prodigy in both intellectual and magical/psionic pursuits. Alternatively, it could refer to his hair post-Ascension; he's magically so powerful that post-Ascension, his mane and tail started showing signs of becoming spatial energy pretty early, displaying stars and suns.
* MentalWorld: According to Rosy Dreams' entry, his dream world is a library, which is appropriate since he loves studying, knowledge, and history.
* MentorArchetype: After realizing that mistreating those he deemed beneath him was wrong, he atoned for his sins by mentoring any struggling student he came across, including those who are disabled in some way like he is, and assisting them in their studies. He still does this after Ascending to demi-godhood, causing many to see him as a divine patron of students and academics, [[StopWorshippingMe which he doesn't want]].
* MindOverMatter: One of his psychic abilities included far-reaching telekinesis.
* MotorMouth: His entry notes that his favorite subject is History, which he now embodies; in fact, he loves History so much that he's willing to go for ''hours'' talking about it.
* NeverMyFault: During his InsufferableGenius phase, he believed that the only thing he was "guilty" of is the pursuit of knowledge in general, while brushing aside any other wrongdoings he had done whenever people brought them to attention. He got better after he was blinded in an accident, [[BreakTheHaughty shattering his inflated ego]].
--> '''Prince Crimson Star:''' If I am guilty of anything, it is '''''only''''' the pursuit of knowledge!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:P - S]]
* ParentalSexualitySquick: He apparently felt so disgusted upon hearing his father's stories of the Alicorns' FreeLoveFuture, as well as his father's own sex life, that he [[TooMuchInformation naturally reacted]] by running out of the royal Terran palace at full speed, [[IgnoringBySinging singing]] and screaming.
* PatronSaint: After his Ascension, many Terran civilians saw him as the Saint of students and academics, and even made a prayer devoted to him. Crimson Star [[StopWorshippingMe refuses to be seen as such]], and points out to a young, devoted Beren that if he really was a Saint as people believed, he would've already created a perfect learning environment where every student is successful and protected from bullying.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Invoked and deconstructed. After being blinded in a carriage accident and having a JerkassRealization regarding his actions, Crimson Star became so depressed that he turned himself into a SilentScapegoat for everyone he had wronged, [[SuicideByCop knowing full well that he'll die from a violent retribution]]. This got him severely injured by his hateful brothers, until [[BigBrotherInstinct Blazing Hoof]] intervened long enough for Golden Scepter to take Crimson Star to the infirmary. Golden Scepter calls him out for invoking this trope by pointing out there are ''better'' ways for him to make amends than forsaking his own life. An entry addendum reveals that both the trauma from losing his eyesight, and his depression from letting himself become a scapegoat for everyone he had wronged, were what factored into his blindness becoming permanent, as they ingrained themselves into his psyche so deeply that they "locked" his injuries in some kind of stasis, making even metaphysical healing impossible.
* PetTheDog:
** While still an InsufferableGenius at the time it happened, he was willing to go out of his way to save a classmate from an out-of-control carriage, blinding and horribly injuring himself in the process. This one act of kindness would prove instrumental in [[BreakTheHaughty shattering his inflated ego]], allowing him to become a much better person afterwards.
** Steel Barricade's entry reveals that despite his flaws, Crimson Star respected Clear Voice for being an accomplished genius in his own right, and was genuinely concerned with Steel Barricade's growing resentment and pettiness towards their older brother. It got to a point where, after Steel Barricade and Clear Voice engaged each other in a duel that quickly got way out of hand, Crimson Star finally got fed up with his younger brother's behavior and sided with Clear Voice, protecting the latter from an incapacitating blow with his own body and [[CurbStompBattle blowing Steel Barricade away]] with his own PsychicPowers, though he was greatly weakened afterward as he was still recovering from injuries given by Fanged Paw at the time. This would lead to Steel Barricade's exile as seeing the brother he idolized side with the brother he hated so much left him so shocked that he didn't notice a furious Golden Scepter arriving to find a partially-destroyed Terran Empire until it was too late.
* PhotographicMemory: As the Alicorn demigod of Knowledge, he has a photographic memory that allows him to easily recall what he had learned, no matter how long ago it was. This is what led to him befriending people who have this, such as King Baarish and Jasper.
* PowerOfTheVoid: Implied; one of the things he can do with his PsychicPowers is create black holes to suck in and devour his enemies.
* PsychicLink: After he was blinded in a carriage accident, he started using his PsychicPowers to get around, which included establishing psychic links with both his brothers and his Thousand Sons legion in order to see through their eyes. This makes him weak to [[{{Synchronization}} psychic pain]], though. It's noted that he can also do this with his Abyssinian friend Jasper, who serves as his [[SeeingThroughAnothersEyes literal eyes and ears]] and can sneak into places by making himself BeneathNotice.
* PsychicPowers: Much like his father, he embodies Psionics, and is believed in-universe to be a living representation of Golden Scepter's psionic talent. His entry notes that while he does have the same far-reaching abilities as his father, such as telepathy, telekinesis, empathy, and teleportation, he's able to take his powers to new heights because of his drive to see how far he can go. As such, he became capable of astral projection, [[PowerOfTheVoid creating black holes]] to suck in and devour his enemies, firing beams of pure psychic energy, and summoning bolts of psychic lightning. After he was blinded in a carriage accident, he learned new ways to get around, such as establishing {{Psychic Link}}s with both his older/younger brothers and his Thousand Sons legion so he could "see" through their eyes. Because of his potential and incredible skill, it is believed that he might end up equaling or surpassing Golden Scepter, who is a powerful psychic himself, once he gets "older".
** In Kúzelník's entry, it's implied that this contributed to him and Kúzelník quickly befriending each other, as one of the things they share is incredibly strong psychic powers. However, Kúzelník admits that he believes Crimson Star is the most powerful psychic of the two of them, as the latter [[AnthropomorphicPersonification embodies Psionics]] and is more adept with his psychic powers.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: As a demi-Alicorn Prince of the Terran Empire and the eighth son of [[GodEmperor Golden Scepter]], he carries a lot of political clout. When he caught Jasper sneaking into the royal palace libraries via [[PerceptionFilter telepathic cloaking]], he didn't punish him like Jasper assumed and instead befriended him over a mutual love for studying and history. And after he caught a group of Imperial Pony soldiers bullying Jasper, he angrily reprimanded them for their actions and then reported them to his family, resulting in said Pony soldiers getting a court-martial. He also doesn't punish Jasper once the latter starts talking back to him over certain impulsive decisions or snarking at him; it's implied that he's more focused on helping his Companion get out of his [[ShrinkingViolet shell]].
* RedIsHeroic: While it took him [[CharacterDevelopment a long time]] to get to the "Heroic" part, he's a red-furred demi-Alicorn god who is also an intelligent, powerful, and benevolent Prince.
* {{Reincarnation}}: Discussed. [[spoiler:A heated argument with Written Word later causes Golden Scepter to wonder if all of his sons, including Crimson Star, are reincarnations of his "Golden Generals" from the Imperium era. Luminiferous assures him that even if they are, all of his sons are still unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings, and he has enough knowledge and experience to ensure that they'll have the "brighter future" that his Generals did not. True to form, it's because of Golden Scepter's good parenting that Crimson Star would be broken of the arrogance that haunted his predecessor, ensuring that he would never repeat his predecessor's mistakes and allowing him to redeem himself for his own and eventually Ascend]]. Jasper's entry reveals, however, that [[spoiler:Crimson Star is specifically a reincarnation of General Scarlet Vortex, a magically talented Golden General who [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice befriended an oft-disrespected and bullied Imperial Custodes Captain-General over their love for knowledge]]. Golden Scepter admits that this is a major reason why he made Jasper a Companion for his eighth son, as he wants to encourage their friendship]].
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Much like his father before him, he would do this. After Golden Scepter told his sons about both the Alicorns' FreeLoveFuture and his own sex life, Crimson Star ran out of the royal palace at full speed, [[IgnoringBySinging singing]] and screaming how he "[[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice doesn't want to be on this planet anymore]]" at the top of his lungs.
* {{Seers}}: One of the abilities he has is precognition, which he shares with his brother, Bright Eyes. It's noted by his entry that while his foresight isn't as powerful as Bright Eyes', Crimson Star was still able to put it to good use, averting several crises in the process.
** During the "Temptation Unbound" event, Crimson Star foresaw his brothers being turned against each other one by one, creating a schism so catastrophic that his father would die trying to stop it. He brought his vision to Golden Scepter's attention, ultimately saving his family, while exposing the malicious deities and their worshipers who tried engineering his family's downfall to remove a large threat to their plans.
** When he foresaw the untold amounts of destruction and death affecting the Nine Realms, Crimson Star pleaded for Golden Scepter to let him avert this bad future. Golden Scepter would give his son his blessing, allowing Crimson Star and a few of his brothers to participate in the "Final Ragnarok" conflict while the rest of his family fought in the "Storm King Crisis".
** In general, whenever he [[SiblingTeam teams up with Fanged Paw to kick ass]], one of the ways he helps out his older brother is predicting when and where an enemy will attack with his foresight.
** A canonized Codexverse drabble implies that he foresaw Pegasus tribalist factions, such as the Scions of Hurricane, getting their hooves on the Order of the Weathersmiths' complete anthology/lore and using it to "save" the Pegasi from the so-called "tyranny" of the other Pony tribes and/or the Equestrian Princesses. This motivated him to personally fund heroic adventurers like Daring Do/A.K. Yearling to find it, while making sure that said adventurers are competent and trustworthy to ensure that the Weathersmiths' lost knowledge isn't used as a tool for destruction and suffering.
---> '''Prince Crimson Star:''' ''(to Prince Palatine Phoenix)'' Should the lore of the Weathersmiths be successfully discovered, it might enlighten the Pegasi and help them reach new heights magically and intellectually. I AM aware of the potential consequences, but that is what precognition is for - to prevent supremacist factions like the Scions of Hurricane from using the lore to spread that deluded, steaming pile of garbage they believe will 'save' the Pegasi.
** According to Jasper, he foresaw one of Pokhot's sons, a Bogolenya Deer god of Pride, Deception, and Evil, becoming a Fallen deity and causing much destruction. This motivated Crimson Star to make a risky gambit that involved "losing" his soul in a devil's deal and humiliating the Deer god by having him nearly lose to a mortal (Jasper) in a card game. [[PapaWolf Golden Scepter]] showing up and repeatedly poking the Deer god until he got his son's soul back just made everything work out even better.
* SemiDivine: Has a demi-divine heritage by virtue of his father, Golden Scepter, being an extremely ancient and powerful Alicorn god. After he Ascended, he himself became an Alicorn demigod, the Codexverse equivalent of an infant divine.
* ShockAndAwe: One of the things he can do with his PsychicPowers is summoning bolts of psychic lightning to strike his enemies.
* SiblingTeam: He and Fanged Paw are demi-divine sons of [[GodEmperor Golden Scepter]], making them brothers. After going through an [[CainAndAbel extremely strained relationship]], and then making amends and reconciling afterwards, they would frequently team up whenever they participated in conflicts and wars. Crimson Star aids his older brother by calculating how many magical foes Fanged Paw will face with his ability to sense magic, [[{{Seers}} predicting when and where an enemy will attack with his foresight]], and lessening the burden by shrinking large crowds of enemies with magical barrages. He also serves as the "sniper" of the duo, despite being capable of close combat himself, as Crimson Star's patience and disciplined precision allows him to pick off hidden enemies and stragglers that Fanged Paw might have missed.
* SilentScapegoat: Deconstructed. After he was blinded saving a classmate in a carriage accident, and realizing what a huge jerk he had been, he became severely depressed and suicidal, to the point where he turned himself into a punching bag for everyone he had wronged, [[SuicideByCop knowing full well he will die]]. Golden Scepter would later call Crimson Star out on this behavior while the latter recovered from injuries given by Fanged Paw in the royal infirmary, pointing out that there are better ways to achieve redemption and make amends, and torturing himself isn't going to solve anything. It was thanks to his father that Crimson Star broke out of his self-destructive behavior and truly became a better person. An entry addendum reveals that his depression and trauma from willingly becoming a scapegoat [[WoundThatWillNotHeal was what factored into his blindness becoming permanently untreatable]].
* SmugSuper: Deconstructed. Pre-Ascension, he was an incredibly intelligent and magically powerful unicorn, so much that he was lauded as a ChildProdigy by his teachers and family when he was younger. Because of this, [[InsufferableGenius he became convinced that he was a peerless genius who can only be matched by the best]], including his father, his brothers and those of his classmates who pursued higher learning and had the intelligence to back up their academic pursuits. He would even abuse his magic to show off his superiority to others he deemed beneath him. However, after he was [[GameBreakingInjury blinded]] in a carriage accident, his ego would be shattered to the point where he fell into a severe depression following his JerkassRealization, and even let himself be injured by those he had wronged, [[CainAndAbel including a few of his own brothers]], on the belief that he deserved it. Thankfully, because of the positive influence of his family and friends, he would eventually learn the error of his ways and become a much kinder stallion, even developing disgust towards his past actions.
* SpannerInTheWorks: During the "Temptation Unbound" conflict, he foresaw his family being torn apart when his brothers would turn each other one by one, starting with his brother, Written Word, which would result in a great catastrophe that would result in Golden Scepter's death. He would end up averting the bad future by warning his father, exposing the Fallen deities and their worshipers who tried engineering his family's downfall in the process.
* SpellBlade: He can channel his psychic powers through his glaive.
* StopWorshippingMe: Justified. Much like his father and brothers, he doesn't want his subjects, especially the young students he mentors, to blindly worship him as it'll make them utterly dependent on him to help them succeed. Another reason behind this is he was formerly an InsufferableGenius who mistreated/dismissed those he deemed beneath him, so he doesn't want his subjects to blindly worship someone who is ultimately flawed. Because of the laws banning public worship of the Terran Royal Family, any religious shrines dedicated to him are removed once found.
* SuicideByCop: He knew that he would potentially die if he turned himself into a SilentScapegoat for those he mistreated, but he didn't care, as he felt so guilty that he believed dying was the only way he could atone for his sins. This is deconstructed as, while he survives the NoHoldsBarredBeatdown he got from his brothers thanks to Blazing Hoof and Golden Scepter, he is called out by his father for excessively torturing himself since he never thought of how his loved ones might be affected by his death. It also led to Fanged Paw, Red Blade, and Death Shroud (the ones who beat him up) nearly committing murder, and after they got exiled from home for their actions, they all [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone regretted what they had each done to their brother]] and decided to atone for it.
* SupernaturalFloatingHair: Due to being a magically powerful pony with great innate potential, he became one of the first of his brothers to develop perpetually rippling hair after Ascending to demi-Alicornhood.
* SupernaturalSensitivity: After he was blinded in a carriage accident, he developed ways to "see" such as using his innate magic as a pair of eyes, allowing him to see and sense magic. Post-Ascension, he gained the ability to use Pegasus magic to detect (and avoid) weather hazards while flying, and use Earth pony magic to navigate on the ground through vibrations.
* SwordAndSorcerer: Whenever he and Fanged Paw [[SiblingTeam team up]], he becomes the "Sorcerer" of the duo, taking out large crowds of enemies with magical barrages and sniping his foes from afar with long-range {{Magitek}} weapons, even though he's capable of close combat himself.

[[folder:T - Z]]
* {{Telepathy}}: His entry notes that one of his PsychicPowers is far-reaching telepathy. After he was blinded saving a classmate in a carriage accident, he started developing ways to get around, including establishing {{Psychic Link}}s with his family and soldiers from his Thousand Sons legion to see through their eyes. He can also enter people's minds via "mind-walking", which he used to help Bright Eyes and Written Word free Rosy Dreams from her coma and fight the mental entity terrorizing her after she was imprisoned within her own mind. It's implied that he has DreamWeaver capabilities to some degree, as Rosy Dreams' entry notes that some of his psychically-inclined uncles helped Mentálne rebuild Rosy's dream world to get rid of [[AbusiveParents Mr. Boar]]'s malicious influence.
* {{Teleportation}}: Implied, as one of his psychic abilities listed by his entry is far-reaching teleportation.
* TemptingFate: Hilariously, his entry notes that he believes that all knowledge is worth learning, no matter what the subject is... until Golden Scepter told him and his brothers stories about the Alicorn Civilization's FreeLoveFuture and [[ParentalSexualitySquick his own sex life]]. Cue Crimson Star bolting out the royal Terran palace, [[IgnoringBySinging singing]] and screaming how he "[[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice doesn't want to be on this planet anymore]]" at the top of his lungs.
* TooMuchInformation: His response to Golden Scepter's stories about the Alicorn Civilization's FreeLoveFuture as well as [[ParentalSexualitySquick his own sex life]]? Run out of the royal Terran palace at full speed, [[IgnoringBySinging singing]] and screaming that [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice he doesn't want to be on this planet anymore]].
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: His response to a Griffon Autorist sending his father an incredibly foul-smelling, magical plague bomb in a failed attempt to kill him is as nonchalant as was Golden Scepter's. Justified, as his divine domain of Knowledge allowed him to know the symptoms of said plague and how to avoid them.
--> '''Prince Crimson Star:''' [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice Just refrain from breathing through your noses, and we should be fine]].
* WalkingTheEarth: Averted. According to Written Word and Clear Voice, he didn't Ascend by "going outside" because he was still getting used to living with his blindness, and sending him out so soon after getting in a carriage accident would look bad on Golden Scepter.
--> '''Mercy:''' Wait, so Uncle Star didn't Ascend by going outside?\
'''Prince Written Word:''' Well, if you mean 'going on an adventure outside the empire', then no. Crimson Star was still getting used to living blind at the time, so 'going outside', as you said, was not an option.\
'''Prince Clear Voice:''' And plus, it would look bad on Father if he decided to make our brother do some soul-searching shortly after his accident like the others did. Father may have his failings, but he is not THAT stupid.
* WarriorPrince: Despite being blind, he still managed to become a capable fighter by learning how to use his inner magic to 'see', to a degree, which is a huge testament to how well he was taught by his father and his tutors. He is also a really good crackshot who mainly specializes in long-range combat, using his magic and long-range {{Magitek}} weapons to strike from afar, though he's no slouch in close combat either, as he would wield a large glaive with a giant blade if so. In addition, he's the military leader of the Thousand Sons chapter, which consists of highly adept warrior-mages like himself, and an excellent strategist who learned the value of patience and long-term planning thanks to his blindness.
* WeHaveBecomeComplacent: Defied. A major reason why he wants to find the Weathersmiths' lost lore is because he discovered through his studies that the entire Pegasi tribe is growing stagnant magically and intellectually, with those Pegasi who manage to remember their ancestors' techniques through study and practice being treated like modern-day "[[TheAce prodigies]]". He believes, despite Palatine Phoenix's worries of the possible consequences, that the Weathersmiths' lore will save the Pegasi and help them achieve new heights with their enlightenment, and is actively trying to prevent the Scions of Hurricane from misusing said lore to spread their FantasticRacism.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Though Golden Scepter's inaction partially led to his blindness becoming permanently untreatable, he doesn't blame his father for it at all, as he sees his blindness as being his own fault. He even sees his disability as a reminder of what will happen if he took his intelligence and pride too far.
* WingedUnicorn: Is currently a [[SemiDivine demi-Alicorn]], having Ascended by [[TheAtoner doing a lot of good things to make up for his arrogant and insufferable behavior]], such as helping those of his classmates who are struggling with their academic studies.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Defied. After finding a group of students attempting to use a dangerous ritual to give themselves unlimited knowledge, he interfered to protect them, and ended up absorbing a huge amount of the magic intended for the students in the process. Despite this, he absolutely refused to let his vastly-increased power/knowledge overwhelm or corrupt him. [[AbstractApotheosis This caused him to Ascend to demi-godhood and become the Alicorn demigod of Psionics, Knowledge, and History]].
* WoundThatWillNotHeal: An entry addendum reveals that at the time he was blinded saving a classmate from a carriage accident, his injuries would have allowed healing to work. However, Crimson Star was so desperate to get his eyesight back that he [[DealWithTheDevil tried summoning demonic forces and making bargains with them in exchange for healing his eyes]], which unfortunately screwed him over, though it's still debated on whether the nether energies present had tainted his eye injuries, or Golden Scepter's intervention had left the state of his son's eyes 'incomplete' as the demon was in the middle of performing the transaction. Medical and magical analyses revealed some months later that the carriage accident not only physically crippled Crimson Star, it damaged ''his very soul'' - the trauma from losing his eyesight, combined with the emotional/mental depression he would suffer from both [[JerkassRealization realizing the folly of his arrogance]] and letting himself become a [[SilentScapegoat scapegoat]] for everyone he had wronged, ingrained themselves into his psyche so deeply that his injuries were permanently "locked" in stasis, making even metaphysical healing impossible. Golden Scepter had planned to heal Crimson Star as he embodies the [[HealingHands healing aspect]] of his Psionics domain, but his [[{{Seers}} psychic foresight]] offered him a vision where his son's injuries would lead to him [[BreakTheHaughty learning the value of humility]]. This tore him up inside because he wanted Crimson Star to become a better person, but the thought of manipulating his own sons to get the result he wanted completely disgusted him. Unfortunately, he underestimated Crimson Star's desperation and by the time he intervened, it was too late, something that he [[MyGreatestFailure deeply regrets]].
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: While calling him out on his self-scapegoating behavior in the royal infirmary, Golden Scepter would inform a rather depressed Crimson Star that he's still no less deserving of his love and praise than any of his brothers, because even if he had "a thousand sons, or twenty or five", Crimson Star is still of his father's own flesh and blood.
