[[folder:Thomas Stratus]]
[[quoteright:195:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/OldTimer-ola_6664.jpg]]
'''Thomas Stratus'''

->''" My apologies. I tend to zone out sometimes when dealing with really stupid people."''

Up until the second book, this wizard didn't have an official name in the comic, but he has crossed paths with Julie's gang more than once. He runs a scroll shop in Everwood, which was where the group met him. They met him again in Huckleton when they were buying ferry tickets to cross the ocean. Originally he seemed to be an unimportant character, but the second book's has him established as a fair bit higher up on importance.

* AllPowerfulBystander: The old timer is very powerful, but doesn't have much to do with Julie's group.
* AscendedExtra: While he was nothing more than a recurring character in the first book, he's arguably the main character of the [[TwoLinesNoWaiting B plot]] in the second book.
* BrickJoke: After 300 pages, he finally [[http://danielscreations.com/ola/comics/ep0362.html wears]] his [[http://danielscreations.com/ola/comics/ep0053.html casual outfit]].
%%* CoolOldGuy
* DeadpanSnarker: Many of his lines are pretty decent.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: He learned about the Souballo's invasion plan, so the Emperor refines a plan to ruin Stratus' name in the city of invasion by commiting horrible crimes, disguised as Stratus.
%%* InsufferableGenius
* OldMaster: He is a high-level wizard, and has been revealed to be one of [[BigBad Brian Souballo's]] teachers.
* RecurringCharacter: He is one of the few non-player characters that Julie's group has dealt with more than once, and probably later on as well.
* RetiredBadass: He used to be a (presumably) magic teacher for TheEmperor before making/selling magic scrolls in Everwood.
* SquishyWizard
* TakenForGranite: Does this to Zaedalkaah as punishment for Zaedalkaah's failed assassination attempt.
* TrueNeutral[[invoked]]: His personality seems to be this. It's also hinted at when Brian extends the empire membership offer to him as someone "who would be cool...ish with the idea, alignment-wise." Even when Stratus delivers his YoureInsane speech to the emperor, Stratus seems to just phone it in somewhat.
** He has associated with both Denise the Astral Deva (an Angel) and Yolee the Succubus (a Demon.)
* UnequalRites: He holds the traditional wizard's opinion that Sorcerers are inferior to Wizards.
* YoureInsane: Stratus does a half-hearted, snarky one of these to the Emperor before the Emperor attacks him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Eric Patterson]]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Patterson_3961.jpg]]
'''Eric Patterson'''

->''"Could you please, please, PLEASE un-quit and come back?"''

Patterson is Julie's former boss when she was working at The Wayside. He's a fairly understanding person, but he does seem not to have that many scruples and is less lawful than one would expect or hope. He eventually gets kidnapped by Brian due to his good barkeeping abilities... and because Angelo wanted a "Huckleton Heartthrob".

* BeleagueredAssistant: For Angelo, though downplayed as Patterson does say he has a lot of free time.
* BenevolentBoss: He doesn't hold it against Julie when she leaves, but he teeters between BenevolentBoss and StupidBoss.
* DeadpanSnarker: And strangely enough Angelo has minimal distain for it.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: In the beginning, not so much now due to CharacterDevelopment.
* GildedCage: When he's kidnapped by Brian to make drinks for him and Angelo, though now his job list has expanded a bit.
* HonestJohnsDealership: He treats The Wayside bar like this, and gets in trouble with health inspectors when Julie blabs about his various practices.
* OddFriendship: Developing a fairly nice one with Umbria.
* StupidBoss: Has shades of this, between his work practices and treatment of employees he doesn't like.
* TookALevelInBadass: Since being kidnapped by Angelo, Patterson took advantage of the free training and tutors and gained levels in Rogue. [[RPGMechanicsVerse Literally.]] He gained four of them according to his [[AllThereInTheManual character page.]]
* TrueNeutral[[invoked]]: The only way he could easily tolerate people ranging from the [[NeutralGood sweet and kind Julie]], to the [[NeutralEvil selfishly evil Umbria.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Peganone Silkweed]]
[[quoteright:210:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Peganone_387.jpg]]
'''Peganone Silkweed'''

->''"We're not judgin'... at least in the 'non chosen one' sense."''

Peganone is an elven woman, and a member of the Everwood Council. She is also one of the three judges in [[Series/AmericanIdol Everwood Idol]]. She is a wizard who seems to be specialized in Divination magic. She is the most cheerful of the three.

* ActualPacifist: Peganone gained her levels doing non-combat, governmental things. This is a bit of an issue for her since she has volunteered to hunt Umbria/Zaedalkaah down herself. Randi is going with her, though...
* ChaoticGood[[invoked]]: She's a nice person and uses her position in government to do good, but she's not especially organized and isn't handling the Umbria/Zaedalkaah situation very attentively.
* DeskJockey: As with part of the ActualPacifist thing.
* {{Expy}}: Peganone is probably based off Music/PaulaAbdul.
* FreudianTrio: With Randi and Simonicus. Peganone is probably Id, to match Paula Abdul's role in ''Series/AmericanIdol''.
* JourneyToTheCenterOfTheMind: Peganone does this on Julie to see if she is the chosen one.
* MagicMirror: Peganone uses one to do her scrying spells.
* TheMcCoy: While Randi is [[TheKirk practical]] and Simonicus is [[TheSpock distant.]]
* OurElvesAreDifferent
* RainbowPimpGear: Peganone's [[http://danielscreations.com/ola/comics/ep0211.html adventuring outfit]] is ''really'' over the top. She comments about [[IWasQuiteAFashionVictim not using it for awhile]], which may explain it.
* SquishyWizard: The official website says she is.
* ThemeNaming: In keeping with this comic's tradition, Peganone is also the name of an anti-seizure medication.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Simonicus]]
[[quoteright:208:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Simonicus_9942.jpg]]
'''Simonicus'''

->''"Your distressingly low level is all the more reason to keep quiet about your mission."''

Simonicus is probably the leader of the Everwood Council, or it may be a triumverate thing. He is the most serious of the three, and is one of the judges in [[Series/AmericanIdol Everwood Idol.]] He is [[AllThereInTheManual another wizard,]] though we haven't seen him do any wizardly things in the comic yet.

* {{Expy}}: Simonicus is obviously based on Simon Cowell, from ''Series/AmericanIdol''.
* FreudianTrio: As with ''Series/AmericanIdol'', Superego.
* LawfulNeutral[[invoked]]: Even uses it as part of his snark.
%%* OurGnomesAreWeirder
* TheSpock: While Randi is [[TheKirk practical]] and Pegaone is [[TheMcCoy emotional.]]
* SquishyWizard: As stated in the website.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Randi Goldenaxe]]
[[quoteright:183:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Randi-ola_732.jpg]]
'''Randi Goldenaxe'''

->''"Call me crazy, but it might be a bit of a step backwards in the world savin', girl."''

Randi is the third member of the Everwood Council. Unlike Simonicus and Peganone, Randi isn't a Wizard, but a [[AllThereInTheManual Cleric with a level of Fighter.]] Randi is also the [[LateArrivalSpoiler third judge in Everwood Idol.]] Randi told Julie that he would be checking in on her every so often, but we haven't seen him do that yet.

* CovertPervert: He wanted a hug from Julie and got a nice feel of her nicely toned butt. He is a [[OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame dwarf]] so his shortness allows for him to easily/innocently do this. Julie wasn't fooled.
* {{Expy}}: Randi is based on Randy Jackson of ''Series/AmericanIdol''.
* FriendsWithBenefits: With Merla, casually revealed by her [=PsiCrystal=].
* FreudianTrio: With Peganone and Simon. Randi is the Ego.
* TheKirk: While Peganone is [[TheMcCoy emotional]] and Simonicus is [[TheSpock distant]].
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: Though Randi combines this with SoulBrotha.
* SoulBrotha: A weird fantasy version of this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Merla Undercobble]]
[[quoteright:180:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Merla_5831.jpg]]
'''Merla Undercobble'''

->''"What's the point in giving a [=PsiCrystal=] an interesting name if it never comes when you call it?"''

In Llanadario, Merla was the one who psionically called out to Julie so they could talk. Merla turned out to be a member of the Everwood Council's network, helping Julie on her quest.

* CharactersAsDevice: The whole tower scene seemed more to do with talking about Julie and Angelika's past than revealing present information. Randi even mutters complaints about this.
* CutesyDwarf: Though she doesn't have dwarven features. She looks like an adult human, shrunken down.
* FairyCompanion: Merla has a [=PsiCrystal=] named "Crystal" but this trope is subverted. Crystal is snarky and rarely helps her.
* FriendsWithBenefits: With Randi, it seems.
* {{Hobbits}}: Not called that in the webcomic for obvious reasons, but Merla's the first important Halfling character in the story.
* KindheartedCatLover: Merla has several pet cats, who all love pesturing Norveg and Angelika.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Looked pretty much the same age almost 20 years ago when working with Theodore and Rosa Magilligan.
* PsychicPowers: Merla is a powerful psionic.
* TeleporterAccident: When attempting to teleport psionically to Everwood, she slams into one of her cats. The way she looks [[VideoGame/EarthBound1994 when she does it]] might be [[ShoutOut familiar to some.]]
* VoiceOfTheLegion: When Merla speaks telepathically to someone, the voice heard in the mind is [[HellIsThatNoise monsterous]] and [[BrownNote horrible.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Eva Wilson]]
[[quoteright:153:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Eva-Wilson_9118.jpg]]
'''Eva Wilson'''

->''"You're wanted in Everwood for crimes against life! That's pretty cut and dry if you ask me!"''

Eva Wilson is a Paladin for Stellina, the Angel of Justice [[AllThereInTheManual (the main Lawful Good deity for Manjulias)]]. She has takes on on the quest of hunting Zaedalkaah down and bringing her to justice. This sentence is of course, death. Eva Wilson's quite the straight arrow, and isn't interested in the reward offered for Zaedalkaah's capture other than to donate it to charity.

* ActionGirl: Easily defeated Zaedalkaah/Umbria when they actually fought (which consisted of a painful horse kick, Zaedalkaah/Umbria attempting to paralyze Eva and failing).
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler: Subverted eventually. Eva was [[CruelandUnusualDeath crushed into a bloody cube]] via [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Implosion]] spell by Angelo. Her soul was then bound to a jewel so she could never get to the heaven that she thought she would go to. Angelo eventually let her soul go when he has a moment of conscience.]]
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Averted. [[spoiler:when she loses the battle against Angelo, Eva attempts to commit {{Seppuku}} to avoid a worse fate. This fails, and how she's under his mental control.]]
* {{Brainwashed}}: [[spoiler:What Angelo did to her after preventing her suicide attempt.]]
* TheComicallySerious: Eva Wilson has never been seen as anything other than deadly serious so far.
* TheDeterminator: Successfully resists Angelo's first attempt to [[CharmPerson magically sway her]] to like him.
* GoodIsNotNice: Eva is good, but all work and no play. Umbria/Zaedalkaah even referred to her as [[Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick Miko]] [[ShoutOut Miyazaki.]]
* KnightErrant: She swears fealty to Stellina, but doesn't seem to belong to a specific church.
* KnightInSourArmor: She complains of being a Paladin sometimes, due to her strict adherance to law and her personal code.
* LawfulGood[[invoked]]: Played pretty straight, almost to the point of LawfulStupid.
* LeeroyJenkins: [[spoiler:When Angelo appeared and took Umbria/Zaedalkah, Eva pretty boldly called him out on his evil deeds and attacked him, despite Peganone insisting Eva to stand down. The next part did not go well for any of them.]]
* OddCouple: Her partner is her horse, though Charismatic Seaweed is ''quite a bit'' less lawful than she is.
* {{Paladin}}
* TragicHero: [[spoiler:Her TragicFlaw was inflexability in her ethics and alignment and her TragicMistake was not backing down even when Angelo gave her the chance to.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Terramycin Shadowleaf]]
[[quoteright:210:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Terramycin_540.jpg]]
'''Terramycin Shadowleaf'''

->''"Living out of your backpack, kicking the Empire's ass... I'm so jealous."''

Terramycin is an Elf girl that Julie's group met in a small town they passed through. She doesn't appear to like humans very much, and has strong and hateful feelings toward the Souballo Empire. She also has a son named Daytranna who runs a curiousity shop in the same town. There is more to her and her son than meets the eye.

* ActionGirl: She turns out to be a mid-level rogue and shows off her skills in a battle in the town.
* ActionMom: Fights alongside her son against the Angelo's Kids who attack the town. She and her son [[CurbstompBattle stomp them flat.]]
* BadassNormal: She activated a scroll of greater invisibility but has no magic of her own, being a rogue.
* FantasticRacism: Terramycin doesn't like humans very much, especially those from the Souballo Empire.
* LoveableRogue: She's a fairly charming girl once you get to know her.
* HeroicNeutral: Expressed an interest in Julie's adventuring but turns out to be more interested in protecting her hometown.
* ItsPersonal: Terramycin and Daytranna slay an entire group of Angelo Kids because they murdered a gnome friend of theirs.
* OurElvesAreDifferent: She also explains how Elves get their [[TechnicolorEyes technicolor]] features.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Not quite seven hundred, but she says she's 245 years old, and oddly enough looks younger than her son.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Played with. She's not evil, but she's a force to be reckoned with.
* ReluctantWarrior: After her and Daytranna's part of the battle was over, she openly states that [[http://danielscreations.com/ola/comics/ep0305.html she hates fighting.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Daytranna Shadowleaf]]
[[quoteright:318:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Daytranna_4209.jpg]]
'''Daytranna Shadowleaf'''

->''"It's better to be lucky than good."''

Daytranna is an absentminded Elven man who runs a curiousity shop in a small town Julie and her friends visited. Angelika first visited the store in hopes of getting a new tent, and first had the pleasure of meeting the super long haired man. His Mother is Terramycin, and she helps run the inn in the town. Like his mom, there is more to him than meets the eye.

* AbsentMindedProfessor: Not a professor, but a very disorganized wizard who owns a curiousity shop. He ''knew'' there was a tent in his store for Angelika, but it took him 19 minutes to find it.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: The side he showed Angelika was quaint and lovably unfocused. The side he showed the Angelo's Kids was [[LetsGetDangerous a lot less so.]]
* FantasticRacism: Has a fair bit less bile than his mom, but it's still there.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Many wouldn't know he was a capable magician just by looking at him or talking to him.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Odd elven example in that even though Daytranna is Terramycin's son, he looks older than her.
* OurElvesAreDifferent: Daytranna's features are late fall/early winter as Terramycin explained.
* SquishyWizard: And the first one not to use [[BlackMage fireballs and lightning bolts]] as their main way to fight. Due to being a Transmuter, he specializes in magic that can make him less squishy and more combat-oriented if need be.
* SummonMagic: Summons creatures to fight for him with his magic, due to not being able to use evocation magic.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Apparently a sign that he was a late fall/early winter Elf, and he's a wizard which fufills the whole supernatural prerequisite thing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Coumadin the Temple Warden]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Coumadin_4527.jpg]]
'''Coumadin the Temple Warden'''

->''"Originality's overrated anyway. As long as it's fun, it can be as memorable and good as any established idea."''

Coumadin is the caretaker for the temple of the First Magicant piece. He is a Cleric who can channel negitive energy and has three Wraith coworkers who he hangs around with. He introduced himself into the story by challenging Julie's group and with his Wraith friends managed to defeat Julie's group, forcing them to flee and regroup.

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: He and his group successfully routed Julie's.
* BargainWithHeaven or DealWithTheDevil: He created two contracts with the denizens of Zebro for assistance in the ''real'' battle with Julie's group. His service as Temple Warden is also due to one: it's likely that after spending some time in the ChaoticEvil [[BloodyBowelsOfHell afterlife]], he was [[BackFromTheDead raised]] and took the position to avoid ending up there for good.
* BlackMagic: Most of his magic revolves around negitive energy.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Even The Palm Tree Ghost thinks he's a nut, but he's very good at strategy and guarding the temple.
* ChaoticNeutral[[invoked]]: Serves The Lady of Fate and Fortune, who is a chaotic demigoddess.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Coumadin's creepy and kind of a nut-job, but he's not malicious and [[spoiler:kept the Wraiths from killing Angelika.]]
* FieryRedhead: Subverted. He's quite laid back.
* FriendlessBackground: His only friends are Undead monsters and sometime Zebroan Outsiders he pays to be his wingmen.
* {{Necromancer}}: Unlike normal Clerics, he has the ability to command undead and has spells that can create and assist them.
* NoSocialSkills: His only friends are undead monsters, and he greeted Julie and her friends by attacking them.
* OurElvesAreDifferent: And his name is [[ThemeNaming Coumadin]].
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Coumadin has divine magical powers which come from [[TricksterGod The Lady of Fate and Fortune.]] Like the goddess he serves, he is also a wild card and a bit of a trickster.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Candesco, Nemurik Cleric of Nehhilia]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/candesco_4611.jpg]]
'''Candesco Solstitialis'''

->''"Candesco is a common name among my people."''

While Angelika was searching for a suitable challenge to restore the level she lost due to returning from the dead, she encountered a Nemurik who accepted her battle challenge. He [[CurbstompBattle defeats her easily]] both times they fought, but Angelika does regain her lost level after the [[TrainingFromHell very intense mock battles.]] Candesco decides to tag along with Julie's group back to Silverfronds as the Merman seems to have business with King Tegretol.

* TheAce: Due to his impressive stats and high character level.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: He defeated Angelika twice very quickly, and successfully ''destroyed a Kraken'' with a lucky magic attack.
* AuthorityEqualsAssKicking: In keeping with a lot of other royals in this comic, Candesco is one of the most powerful characters in the comic.
* BizarreAlienReproduction: It's implied Candesco had 'sex' with multiple females of his race in front of Julie's group. Since it merely involves the females grabbing the tails of the males, the sex is considered GRatedSex.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: When it comes to sex at least. Candesco doesn't understand humanoid sexual customs and went to a brothel as an ''educational'' experience rather than out of any kind of sexual desire.
* DanceBattler: Does a lot of gymnastics and ballet when dodging attacks.
* {{Flight}}: Candesco can fly as a spell from the Travel Domain from Nehhilia, the Moon Goddess.
* KillItWithWater: Candesco's Water Strike attack boils an enemy alive.
* MakingASplash: Water is one of Nehhilia's domains, and there's Water Strike.
* ModestRoyalty: Candesco is apparently a prince, but looks no different from any other member of his race.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: The Nemurik are a race of marine people with aspects of fish and Elves.
* PrefersGoingBarefoot: Stated by Candesco as he rescues Angelika from death a second time. It's justified as shoes wouldn't help an aquatic race with their swimming.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Goes with Julie's group to see King Tegretol, possibly to ally with him against the Souballo Empire.
* TheSpock: Calm, cool, rational and quite wise.
* SpockSpeak: Justified as Common isn't Candesco's first language so his speech is a bit formal.
* TrainingFromHell: Subjects Angelika to this so she can regain a lost level. This combat nearly kills her twice.
* TrueNeutral: In order to be a cleric of Nehhilia some degree of neutral is needed. Candesco doesn't much care about morals or ethics but isn't cruel or malicious either.
* WarriorPrince: His divine magic and combat skills are very powerful.
* {{Wingdinglish}}: The Nemurik language is shown in comic as a system of runes instead of letters.
