!'''Tri Squad'''

[[folder: In General]]
-->'''Fuma''': Even if we come from different planets...\
'''Titas''': We share the same common goal.\
'''Taiga''': For we are...\
'''All three''': The Tri-Squad!

A trio of Ultramen, each from different backgrounds and with different strengths. They consist of Ultraman Taiga from the Land of Light in Nebula M78, Ultraman Titas from Planet U-40, and Ultraman Fuma from Planet O-50. These inseparable companions have worked together for years, and their primary goal is to dedicate their combined power to fight for and protect peace on Earth.
----
* BalanceSpeedStrengthTrio: Three Ultramen share the same host (Hiroyuki) and forms a team named Tri Squad.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler:After Tregear and Grimdo's destruction in ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'', they part ways with Hiroyuki and company once finished of their duties on earth.]]
* TheChosenOne: So far, only two out of three can be consider this:
** If one were to watch ''Anime/TheUltraman'' anime, Ultras of U40 are as tall as normal humans and can only become as large as a {{Kaiju}} if they wore Star Symbols (their people's equivalent to normal Ultras' Color Timer). Only eight of them exist to be worn by eight qualified warriors. Titas however was chosen by the Great Sage and given a blue colored Star Symbol as opposed to the great 8 warriors, but this alone cemented the fact that he's on equal terms with the great 8.
** Fuma comes from Planet O-50 like [[Series/UltramanOrb Ultraman Orb]], [[Series/UltramanRB Rosso and Blu]], which means that he is one of the chosen warriors who had climbed up to the top of Warrior's Peak.
* {{Foil}}: To the [[Franchise/UltramanZero Ultimate Force Zero]]: both are actually RagtagBunchOfMisfits from different point of origin and are also {{LegacyCharacter}}s but whereas Zero's teammates are those from different works of Creator/TsuburayaProductions, the Tri-Squad are from Franchise/UltraSeries that featured different point of origin for the Ultras (Land of Light, U40, O-50).
* IAmNotMyFather: All three Tri-Squad members have issues with their fathers and each wanted to step out of it as they develop their identities.
** As a youth in the Land of Light, Taiga hates living under the shadow of his father's popularity and strives to become different, which leads to him seeking comfort under an older Ultra, Firis. [[spoiler:At the end of the series, he finally proclaims himself as son of Taro]].
** Titas [[spoiler:is the son of a pair of Hellar Armies who wanted their child to be exempted from joining them, which gives him insecurities about his point of origin until he transformed for the first time]].
** Fuma was the son of an O-50 mountain climber who gave up midway and lived for the rest of his life haunted by his father's failure. After becoming an Ultraman and discovering his adventures chronicled by a young girl, he decided to adopt the [[RedBaron title]] Champion of the Wind, which is a departure from how he was called as "the loser's son".
* MultiformBalance: Played With. The three Ultras act like this instead of the titular Ultra changing forms.
** JackOfAllStats: Taiga
*** LightningBruiser: Photon Earth
** MightyGlacier: Titas
** FragileSpeedster: Fuma
** SuperForm: Taiga Tri-Strium
* PowerCopying: With the Taiga Spark, they can augment their finishers with the previous New Generation Heroes' powers.
* TrueCompanions: Just like their creed above shows, even if they are born from different planets, they always fight together, through thick or thin.

[[folder:Ultraman Taiga]]
!!Ultraman Taiga
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultramantaiga.png]]
!!!Portrayed by: Creator/TakumaTerashima (voice)

The titular hero of the series and the son of Series/UltramanTaro, who once protected the Earth. Deep inside, he wishes his father Taro to understand and recognize him, but he cannot admit his true feelings. He has a strong sense of justice and is very enthusiastic. Along with Titas and Fuma, he founded the “Tri Squad”. Although still young and unskilled, he is dedicated in his mission to protect Earth.

Together with Hiroyuki, he grows to become a true Ultraman.
----

* AChildShallLeadThem: While the Tri-Squad lacks a definitive leader, Taiga sees himself as one despite being younger than the other two members and is an Ultra equivalent to a high school freshman (15-16 years old).
* BadassFamily: Taiga is the son of Ultraman Taro which makes him the grandson of Father of Ultra and Mother of Ultra, adopted nephew/first cousin once removed of Series/UltramanAce and Series/{{Ultraseven}}, and he's second cousins with Franchise/UltramanZero.
* CerebusRetcon: Taiga using both the New Generation Heroes' Bracelets and Kaiju Rings as his arsenal, later on gaining [[GoldenSuperMode Photon Earth]] may seemed like a blatant ProtagonistPowerUpPrivileges. [[spoiler:However, episode 15 revealed that Tregear was trying to corrupt Taiga through prolonged use of the Kaiju Rings, thus brainwashing the young Ultra at the moment where he is at his strongest.]]
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: To Franchise/UltramanZero, of all people. They're both children of an Ultra Brother member, but Zero is a cocky and rebellious child due to an implied ParentalAbandonment from his previously unseen father, while Taiga is raised by Taro but has inferiority complex issue as a result of being constantly compared to each other. Zero is already an Ultra with a strong potential and requires training/isolation to discipline himself, allowing him to take on Belial and save his planet. Taiga on the other hand is stated by extracanonical sources as an trained, but inexperienced warrior and failed to even defeat Tregear in his first encounter.
* CoolSword: The Taiga Tri-Blade, a flame-like sword and TransformationTrinket to Hiroyuki who can transform into Taiga Tri-Strium.
* DrunkOnTheDarkSide: [[spoiler:Aside from being Tregear's mindless puppet, Hiroyuki gets a good look at his tainted soul where Taiga went drunk with power and was quick to reject his former human host. It took a [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan single punch]] from Hiroyuki to bring him to his senses]].
* FinishingMove:
** '''Strium Blaster''', Similar to his father's Storium Ray, Taiga's beam is fired from a "T" style, but with mirrored position. It is fired from the Taiga Spark. It also have different variations scanning with the Bracelets on the Taiga Spark:
*** '''Supreme Blaster:''' By scanning the [[Series/UltramanOrb Orb-let]], Taiga's Strium Blaster is enhanced in energy of light resembling Orb Origin's Supreme Calibur.
*** '''Flame Blaster:''' By scanning the [[Series/UltramanRB Rosso-let]], Taiga's Strium Blaster is enhanced in flame energy.
*** '''Aqua Blaster''': By Scanning the [[Series/UltramanRB Blu-let]], Taiga's Strium Blaster is enhanced in water energy.
** '''Aurum Strium''': In Photon Earth form, Taiga's enhanced finisher beam, where he summons a golden aurora to charge up and fire a golden beam from the Taiga Spark.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Taiga gets called by Ai Tennoji in episode 8 as Aka Oni (meaning "red devil"), a nickname which he finds irritating. Remember that this series has another evil Ultraman named Tregear, who embraced the title of the devil after his FaceHeelTurn. [[spoiler:Three guesses as to what happened to Taiga in the mid-season]].
* FusionDance: Taiga Tri-Strium is a combination form between the bonds of Taiga, Titas, Fuma and Hiroyuki.
* GoldenSuperMode: Photon Earth, which gives him the power of Earth and Sun.
* JackOfAllStats: Despite his inexperience, Taiga is said to be a balanced fighter.
* KidHero: His age is 4,800, which makes him around 15-16 years old in terms of human standard.
* KirkSummation: [[spoiler:Delivers this to Tregear in the FinalBattle against the fallen Ultra. Tregear refuses to listen, but at least he tried.]]
-->'''Taiga:''' That would have been impossible only with my own power. It was the power of light from both of us Ultramen that saved that monster's heart. No matter how much you deny it...you are an Ultraman; something that exists to protect the light! Weren't you my father's friend who left the Land of Light? You can become a guardian of light once more!
* HornedHumanoid: The Ultra Horns, courtesy of his grandfather's line.
* MeaningfulName: InUniverse, Taiga comes from a word that means “one who shines like the sun” in the Ultra Language. [[spoiler: It takes on a sadder undertone when you learn that Taro had originally suggested it as the name of Tregear’s invention that became the Taiga Spark.]]
* MidSeasonUpgrade: See GoldenSuperMode above.
* MythologyGag: Episode 16 confirmed that Taro was the one who gave Taiga his Taiga Spark. Flash back to year 2006, the Father of Ultra was the one who give Series/UltramanMebius his Mebius Brace, alongside choosing the rookie Ultraman as the next protector of Earth.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Even from the Father of Ultra's lineage, Taiga is the first to have his silver coloration dominating most of his color scheme and the fact that his horns are shorter than his predecessors, even to the point of leaning 45 degree backwards.
* PowerCopying: Like all Tri-Squad members, Taiga can use the power of past Ultramen, but other than that, he also uses the power of Kaiju Rings for his own. As shown, Hellberus' [[SwordBeam Hell Slash]], Galactron MK 2's [[FingerFirearms Mons Beam Ray]], Segmeger's [[PoisonousPerson Seger Flame]], Night Fang's [[HandBlast Fang Wave]] Gigadelos' [[MesACrowd Delos Illusion]] and lastly, Gorothunder's [[ShockAndAwe Thunder Spark]]. [[spoiler:Unfortunately for him, he learns the hard way not to use too much of the Kaiju Rings]].
* RedBaron: His title is the "Hero of Light". As Photon Earth and Tri-Strium, he was called as the "Hero of Earth and Sky" and "Hero of Bonds".
* RookieRedRanger: Taiga is actually very young inexperienced in battle but is dedicated in his mission to protect Earth. To note, he's even younger than Ultraman Zero.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Can perform somersaults and spinning jumps like his father, Taro.
* WellDoneSonGuy: He longs for his father's approval, but at the same time wants to do things on his own, so that he would not be overshadowed by Taro's popularity.

[[folder:Ultraman Titas]]
!!Ultraman Titas
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/titus3.png]]
!!!Portrayed by: Creator/SatoshiHino (voice)

Ultraman Titas is the second Ultra Warrior that dwells inside Hiroyuki. He is a warrior and a sage from Planet U40, the birthplace of [[Anime/TheUltraman Ultraman Joneus]], as opposed to the Land of Light in Nebula M78. With his carefully trained body and healthy spirit, he is skilled in heavyweight battles.
----

* AntiAntichrist: The reason why Titas has a black coloration than his kind: his birth parents are soldiers of Heller Army, the traitorous faction which splits from U40 after discarding their Ultramen forms for a lifelong immortality. Titas' father puts him in the care of a U40 commander but Titas can freely shift into his Ultraman form despite his family lineage. His fellow Tri-Squad members [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] his origin to Series/UltramanGeed, the Ultra whose bracelet is also part of Titas' powers.
* BigDamnHeroes: He saves Taiga and the Earth from the wrath of a deceased astronaut in his debut appearance.
* TheBigGuy: It's obvious when you see his body built.
* DarkIsNotEvil: His body may be predominantly black with red linings that makes him similar to [[Franchise/UltramanZero Ultraman Belial]] but like Series/UltramanOrb Thunder Breastar, he's a good guy through and through. The audio drama however reveals that there's a reason for his black coloration.
* FinishingMove:
** '''Planium Buster''', he charges a green energy orb before punching it to the opponent. It is almost a recreation of the second variation of Joneus' Planium Ray.
*** '''Wrecking Buster:''' By scanning the [[Series/UltramanGeed Geed-let]], Titas' Planium Buster is enhanced in dark energy reminiscent of Geed's Wrecking Burst.
*** '''Electro Buster:''' By scanning the [[Series/UltramanX X-let]], Titas' Planium Buster is enhanced in green electric energy before forming his arms in "X" position to push it, reminiscing X's Xanadium Ray.
* GeniusBruiser: As his title of "Sage of Power" shows, Titas' mind is just as well-trained as his muscles. The voice drama revealed that he is well informed in Earth culture, since he studied it on his home planet. The series played it further by revealing that he also knows the legend of Gorothunder like the rest of the Tri-Squad and Woola's existence, ultimately leading to [[spoiler:Pirika's true identity]].
* JumpedAtTheCall: Whereas Tregear grants the deceased astronaut his wish for revenge, Titas granted the spirit of said astronaut's wife to be reunited with her husband. This allows Titas to return to Earth and join Taiga in the fight against Galactron MK 2.
* LovableJock: He may be obsessive with maintaining his body build but Titas is easily recognized as the nicest member of the Tri-Squad.
* MeaningfulName: Titas' name may have been derived from "Titus", which can be interpreted as "Title of Honor" according to Biblical Latin. Though, it could also come from the term "titan" (タイタン Taitan), meaning a person of great strength or size.
* MightyGlacier: He's the closest equivalent to a Heisei Ultraman's red colored brute strength forms.
* MuggleFosterParents: Titas may be a descendant of a traitor, but he's neither a copy of his parent(s) because of his background being raised by Mattia and Zamias, both are his adopted family members but treat him as a genuine one.
* MythologyGag: He's TheBigGuy of the team and is visibly muscular. In ''The Ultraman'' his fellow U40 brethren Joneus was sent to protect Earth because he was declared as the strongest of the eight chosen warriors.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign:
** Even from the standard of U40 Ultramen, Titas stands out for having silver parts for his shoulder, glove and leg armors, as well as the black colored body, and having blue eyes instead of standard yellow eyes. His body built being ridiculously muscular also counted for, since even the strongest like Joneus has a slender body.
** In addition, despite having a Star Symbol, Titas stands only at 50m instead of the 70m height as seen by his fellow U40 Ultramen, possibly he opted not to grow to that size.
* NoSell: Titas can deflect weaker attacks by flexing his muscles, a skill fittingly known as Wise Man's Muscle.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Although Titas is the most mature member of the Tri-Squad, he was just as invested in becoming EGIS's mascot in Episode 13.
* OddNameOut: Titas stands out by being named after a Greek word instead of a Japanese name like Taiga and Fuma.
* PecFlex: He does this before most of his battles to intimidate kaijus and aliens. Especially notable in his debut in Episode 2, right before facing Galactron.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: His pride is not to himself, but to the planet he's raised on (U40) and insulting it or anything that symbolizes his planet is his BerserkButton.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: His punches tends to result in kaijus being punched across the ''city''. Alien Gapiya tries to block him with a PunchParry, and ends up landing at the edge of a lake a hundred miles away.
* RedBaron: His title is "Sage of Power".
* UpbringingMakesTheHero: Contrary to his parents (Heller Army members), Titas' background makes him one of the strongest warriors in U40, both physically and ''mentally'' self control. This granted him the title of a "sage" and even the Star Symbol from the Great Sage.
* WarriorMonk: A sage from U40.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ultraman Fuma]]
!!Ultraman Fuma
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fuma3.png]]
!!!Portrayed by: Shota Hayama (voice)

He is the third Ultra Warrior that dwells inside Hiroyuki. Ultraman Fuma is from Planet O-50, the planet where both Series/UltramanOrb and [[Series/UltramanRB Ultra brothers Rosso and Blu]] acquired the power to become Warriors of Light. He has quick reflexes and various techniques that make him strong in battles that require speed. He has a rough personality, but also a strong sense of duty.
----

* BlueIsHeroic: His main color is blue.
* FinishingMove:
** '''Polar Star Light Wave Shuriken''', he charges a giant energy shuriken and flings it to the opponent.
*** '''Seven Stars Light Wave Shuriken:''' By scanning the [[Series/UltramanGinga Ginga-let]], Fuma can unleash to projectiles of Polar Star Light Wave Shuriken, both are multi-colored based on the seven colors of rainbow.
*** '''Sharp Star Light Wave Shuriken:''' By scanning the [[Series/UltramanGinga Victory-let]], Fuma's Polar Star Light Wave Shuriken becomes the construct of a V-shaped energy bow ready to be launched at the target.
* FlashStep: Fitting to his motif as a ninja, he can accelerate so that his movements appear to be blurs and also capable of creating afterimages of his own.
* FragileSpeedster: Fuma is described to be adept in close combat and speed-based techniques.
* FuumaShuriken: His "Light Wave Shuriken" attacks and its variations.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Fuma may be snarky, but his kindness isn't one that goes unnoticed.
* LoserSonOfLoserDad: Previously, Fuma lives under the notoriety of his father's failed legacy to climb to the top of O-50's mountain peak. By the time he becomes an Ultraman, he resort to embrace the title of "Champion of the Wind".
* TheNicknamer: Fuma sometimes referring his friends as "big bro".
* {{Ninja}}: Has this as his theme. Made more obvious when you see that some of his attacks revolve around using shuriken.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Fuma isn't a dark blue like [[Series/UltramanGaia Agul]] and [[Series/UltramanMebius Hikari]] or normal blue like [[Series/UltramanCosmos Cosmos]] and Zero. He's what can be considered as light blue/cyan, which is a contrast to past Ultras with aforementioned color. Additionally whereas O-50 Ultramen have dominant black and silver colors, Fuma's light blue is the most dominant part with black linings being the minority.
* RedBaron: His title is "Champion of the Wind".
* ShoutOut: His status as a ninja and his name seems to be one for UsefulNotes/FuumaKotaro, a famous ninja in the Sengoku Period of Japan.
* StreetUrchin: Before becoming an Ultraman, Fuma was a young humanoid boy whose father is a climber that gave up halfway to the peak of O-50. Fuma had been living on the streets since he was a child, scamming others of their money and is implied to have been disowned by his father.
* WasOnceAMan: Like all of O-50's chosen Ultramen, he was a human before being given his powers. His flashback reveals that unlike Orb, Rosso and Blu, Fuma was implied to have been an Ultraman at a teen age.

[[/folder]]

!'''Other Ultra Warriors'''
[[folder:New Generation Heroes]]

A group of Ultramen debuted after ''Franchise/UltramanZero'' related medias. 12 years prior to the series, they faced against Ultra Dark-Killer when he plans to assemble an army of fake Ultraman and his group, League of Darkness. After the fight, they faced against Tregear near the Land of Light but was defeated easily. They gave the Tri Squad their lights as a parting gift.\
\
The team returns in ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'' to protect Hiroyuki from a mysterious threat that was sent to attack him.

!!Hikaru Raido/Ultraman Ginga
!!!Portrayed by: Takuya Negishi (Japanese), Peter Von Gomm (English; voice)

An Ultraman from an unknown future who was once one entity with Dark Lugiel.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanGinga character sheet for Ultraman Ginga]].
----
* ActionBomb: Once all of the New Generation Heroes supply him with theur energy, Ginga Strium performs New Generation Dynamite as the final blow in against Ultra Dark-Killer.
* AllYourPowersCombined: See above
* ADayInTheLimelight: ''Ultra Galaxy Fight'' supposedly features the entire New Generation Heroes of Heisei Era getting their fair share of focus, but according to director Koichi Sakamoto, Ginga is the intended protagonist of the miniseries.
* BigDamnHeroes: Rescued the heavily drained X and Geed in Planet Sundowin from Dark Lugiel in order to have the entire New Generation Heroes assembled.
* BreakOutTheMuseumPiece: The last time Ginga utilizes Ginga Strium was back in 2014, after his final battle with Vict Lugiel. Taro gives him access to this form once more in the final battle against Dark-Killer.
* TheLeader: Per WordOfGod, yes, Ultraman Ginga (or his human host, Hikaru, depending on how you see him) is the leading man of the New Generation Heroes despite Gai/Ultraman Orb being the older and wiser of the team.
* PassingTheTorch: Leads the other New Generation Ultraman in doing this to the Tri-Squad.
* StockShonenHero: According to Koichi Sakamoto, Hikaru is this since his debut in ''Series/UltramanGinga'', but ''Galaxy Fight'' takes this trope to a T when he leads the New Generation Heroes in against League of Darkness.

!!Shou/Ultraman Victory
!!!Portrayed by: Kiyotaka Uji (Japanese), Michael Jose Rivas-Micoud (English; voice)

An ancient Ultra born from the power of the Victorium Stone and Ginga's partner.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanGinga character sheet for Ultraman Ginga]].
----
* BigDamnHeroes: Quickly bails Orb away from O-50 when X and Geed Darkness steals his light energy to create his own EvilKnockoff. Its also thanks to Victory's involvement that Orb Darkness was created as an ImperfectRitual.
* ContinuityNod: Victory recalls another sibling pair Ultramen duo, the [[Series/UltramanLeo Leo Brothers]] and recommended Rosso and Blu to be trained by them.
* WhatTheHellHero: A downplayed example; he chastised Rosso and Blu for quickly going out to save Grigio without any forms of preparation beforehand, which leads to their encounter with Etelgar.

!!Daichi Ozora/Ultraman X
!!!Portrayed by: Kensuke Takahashi (Japanese), Mark Stein (English; voice)
An Ultra from space who merges with Daichi Ozora as his host to combat against monster threats. While not in transformed state, he resides in the X Devizer.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanX character sheet for Ultraman X]].
----
* BadassInDistress: He was originally this with Geed at the start of ''Galaxy Fight'' after Dark-Killer drain their energies to create their Darkness copies and left Lugiel to finish them on Planet Sundowin before Ginga bails them out.
* BreakOutTheMuseumPiece: The miniseries features X fighting with all [=MonsArmors=] he had up to that point, but what actually takes the cake was his use of Ultraman Zero Armor and even the Beta Spark Armor after its final appearance 3 years ago in X's feature movie.
* NotHimself: The miniseries make it obvious that X is in the same case like Ginga, where he appears only as a living shell for his human host (Daichi) to communicate. It becomes apparent that not even Creator/YuuichiNakamura returned in any capacity as a voice actor or stock voice.

!!Gai Kurenai/Ultraman Orb
!!!Portrayed by: Hideo Ishiguro (Japanese), Chris Wells (English; voice)
A vagabond Ultraman with a unique ability to fuse two different Ultras into one unique form.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanOrb character sheet for Ultraman Orb]].
----
* BadassInDistress: Downplayed; he can barely hold on fighting X and Geed Darkness on O-50 but was quickly outmatched and had his energies stolen until Victory bails him out.

!!Riku Asakura/Ultraman Geed
!!!Portrayed by: Tatsuomi Hamada (Japanese), Dario Toda (English; voice)
The synthetic son of Ultraman Belial with similar power to his predecessor Orb.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanGeed character sheet for Ultraman Geed]].
----
* BadassInDistress: He was originally this with X at the start of ''Galaxy Fight'' after Dark-Killer drain their energies to create their Darkness copies and left Lugiel to finish them on Planet Sundowin before Ginga bails them out.
* FamedInStory: In episode 23 of ''Taiga'', Geed was mentioned in a passing by an [[Series/{{Ultraseven}} Alien Godola]] for defeating Ultraman Belial.

!!Katsumi Minato/Ultraman Rosso
!!!Portrayed by: Yuya Hirata (Japanese), Jeff Manning (English; voice)
Ultraman Rosso is the elder brother of the pair of Ultramen who had come to Earth centuries ago to defeat the monster Grigio Bone only to be defeated and scattered into the many R/B Crystals the Minato brothers must collect. He naturally wields the power of fire.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanRB character sheet for Ultraman R/B]].
----
* TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: In the receiving end; he was teleported from [[UsefulNotes/{{Italy}} Milan, Italy]] to the Land of Light, transformed into his Ultraman form once he get there.
* DoubleTake: Instantly after being teleported to the Land of Light, the brothers made their usual fist bump, but quickly came to their senses when they realized where they are, less when remembering how each others are supposed to be in different countries altogether.
* IdiotBall: No pun intended because of his tendency to use spherical attacks. While supposedly the more mature and sensible of the pair, Rosso and Blu quickly flies to outer space to save Grigio, ''without even knowing where or how to save her''. Of course, Ribut and Victory are understandably irritated by their hasty decision. If Rosso was in his original series, he would have been the one to formulate plans on how to act or even analyzing the gravity of the situation altogether.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Says this word for word when Tregear's act of pitting Taiga against a brainwashed Taro is an act that's beyond redemption.

!!Isami Minato/Ultraman Blu
!!!Portrayed by: Ryosuke Koike (Japanese), Ryan Drees (English; voice)
Ultraman Blu is the younger brother of Rosso, and like him, had originally appeared in the battle against Grigio Bone and later mysteriously reappeared when their old foe was resurrected in the present. By default, he wields the power of water.

For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanRB character sheet for Ultraman R/B]].
----
* TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: In the receiving end; he was teleported from UsefulNotes/{{California}} to the Land of Light, transformed into his Ultraman form once he get there.
* DoubleTake: Instantly after being teleported to the Land of Light, the brothers made their usual fist bump, but quickly came to their senses when they realized where they are, less when remembering how each others are supposed to be in different countries altogether.
* IdiotBall: Rosso and Blu quickly flies to outer space to save Grigio, ''without even knowing where or how to save her''. Of course, Ribut and Victory are understandably irritated by their hasty decision. Blu being the usual LeeroyJenkins in his original series is a JustifiedTrope, but Rosso on the other hand...

!!Ultrawoman Grigio
!!!Voiced by: Arisa Sonohara (Japanese), Rumiko Varnes (English)
Ultrawoman Grigio is Asahi Minato's transformed form, making her Rosso and Blu's youngest sister. With both her brothers studying abroad, she becomes the protector of Ayaka City on her own.

For tropes applying to her in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanRB character sheet for Ultraman R/B]].
----
* ActionGirl: Slowly becomes this in ''Galaxy Fight''.
* BigDamnHeroes: She shows up in the middle of ''Taiga The Movie'' to fuse with her brothers into [[FusionDance Groob]].
* DamselInDistress: She was trapped into the Ultra Dark Killer's pocket dimension, when Zero try to stop the dark Ultra from taking her.
* FakeShemp: Be it ''Galaxy Fight'' or ''Taiga The Movie'', her human host Asahi is non-present and is entirely in her Ultrawoman form.
* PassingTheTorch: On the receiving end, now it's her job to defend her home city in the absence of her brothers.
* TookALevelInBadass: While severely weakened in the Dark-Killer Zone, she muster enough strength to get pass over Zero Darkness (who is an EvilKnockoff of Zero, one the most powerful Ultraman alive) and uses her energy to recharge her brothers to give them a HeroicSecondWind. Quite a bit of a DownplayedTrope from how we first saw her in ''Ultraman R/B The Movie''.
* WorldHealingWave: She unleashes one to recharge her drained brothers while Dark Killer drains their energies.

!!Ultraman Taro
!!!Voiced by: Creator/HiroyaIshimaru (Japanese), Bill Sullivan (English)

Also known as Ultraman No. 6 and Master Taro by his fellow Ultra Brothers and his apprentices respectively, he is the son of Father of Ultra and Mother of Ultra, as well as Taiga's father. 12 years ago, he reappeared confronting his old friend Tregear near the Land of Light after the New Generation Ultras were defeated by the rogue Ultraman. He warned the Tri Squad not to face against Tregear but the Tri Squad ignored his advice and they are easily defeated for their trouble. He was last seen clashing with Tregear with his Ultra Dynamite.\
\
For tropes applying to him in general, see the [[Characters/UltramanTaro character sheet for Ultraman Taro]].
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Taro recalls that he was charged with his brothers' powers in order to perform Super Ultra Dynamite and defeating Dark Killer in his first appearance. He also instructed the New Generation Heroes in this same manner to fight his revived old foe.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Taro becomes one after being possessed by Grimdo in Taiga's feature movie.
* ParentsInDistress: Taro becomes Grimdo's host from being possessed, and it's up to his son, working alongside the New Generation Ultras, to save him.
* ProperlyParanoid: He advises the Tri-Squad to back down from the battle, knowing that Tregear is a far worse opponent. He has every right to worry, except from the fact that his son survived.
* RageBreakingPoint: Seemingly killing his son enrages him enough to perform Ultra Dynamite.
* SelfDestructiveCharge: Seeing his son Taiga, seemingly, killed in front of him causes him to break down and attack Tregear without regard for his own safety.
* SayMyName: TAIGA!!!!!

----
* BigBrotherInstinct: He's a bit older than Taiga and acts like an older brother of sort to the depressed boy.
* ContinuityNod: He mentions to archive a weapon named Triger Shot belonging to a certain apprentice of Taro. For keen-eyed fans, the Triger Shot is a weapon used by GUYS on ''Series/UltramanMebius'' and the title Ultra's human form Mirai Hibino used in ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' when his Mebius Brace damaged.
* TheFaceless: His face is never shown, since he appears only in the voice drama.
* GenerationXerox: Like Tregear, he's a blue Ultra and a friend to someone from Father of Ultra's family lineage. Time will tell if he falls like the former too.

!!!Voiced by: Wataru Komada (Japanese), Iain Gibb (English)
A member of the Galaxy Rescue Force (His own version of the Space Garrison in another universe) and an ultra who was originally created by the joint collaboration of Tsubaraya and Les' Copaque Productions, the creators of the CGI animated series of Malaysia called ''Animation/UpinAndIpin''.
----
* CanonImmigrant: As mentioned above, he was originally created as a joint collaboration between Tsubaraya Productions and Malaysian and Indonesian CGI cartoon series ''Upin & Ipin'' by Les' Copaque Productions in 2014. Initially introduced as a dream character, he is proven to exist in the real world when the titular twins wake up to find his TransformationTrinket present in their bedroom, although this event is de-canonized. This miniseries, however, is his first live appearance.
* {{Expy}}: He's based of [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Ultraman, Zoffy]] and [[Series/ReturnOfUltraman Ultraman Jack]]. His overall design is based of the original (sharing the same Color Timer), the middle has his shoulder and chest design minus the ChestOfMedals, and the latter had flatter face and multipurpose tool on his left hand to aid him in battle.
* FinishingMove: Galaxium Blaster, Ribut's personal Ultra Beam. He fires his Ultra Beam in an L position. Done after swirling his hands around each other. Can destroy a monster in one hit.
* HypercompetentSidekick: In ''Galaxy Fight'', Ribut seems to got everything under his control and prepared than any of the New Generation Heroes. When Taro asked him to go on a patrol, Ribut even revealed that he already had arranged his teammate from Galaxy Rescue Force to do the job. It gets to the point that he goes on fighting against ''Tregear'', although the trickster Ultra managed to escape again.
* LightningBruiser: Ribut is perhaps one of the most agile Ultramen, being able to dodge enemy fire that he is running towards. He often performs jumps and flips and has excellent reaction time for something so massive as an Ultra. He is also capable of fighting on equal terms with [[TheDreaded Ultraman Tregear]], who is an evil Ultraman in the same power level as Geed's Ultimate Final form and [[FusionDance Ultraman Gruebe]].
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Ribut Blocker, a shield armament worn on his left arm that is a blue crystal, is used to erect his barriers. He can erect a circular shield of blue energy to protect himself.
* MeaningfulName: His name "Ribut" is the Malay word for "Storm". The name suits him as he's usually seen flying, running, and dodging enemy attacks with amazing speed.
* MythologyGag: He is the second Ultra that is named after a word from Bahasa (the common language of Malaysia and Indonesia) after [[Series/UltramanTiga Ultraman Tiga]].
* WhatTheHellHero: While saving Rosso and Blu from Etelgar, Ribut even took the time to chastise the two for simply disregarding Taro's orders and go straight into saving their little sister without any kind of plans in preparation.

* EleventhHourSuperpower: Zero Beyond, his alternative form in ''Series/UltramanGeed'' can only be accessed with Leito's help. Here, Zero managed to bypass this restriction for a moment by having Geed and his predecessors from Ginga to Orb donating their powers.
* MacGuffinDeliveryService: His sole appearance in episode 23 was to fight against a Belial clone and a delivering the [[EleventhHourSuperpower Plasma Zero-let]] to Ultraman Taiga.

----
* AllYourPowersCombined: He is the result of Hiroyuki transforming with the New Generation Eye, which itself resulted from all members of New Generation Heroes combining.
* FusionDance: Again as stated above, this form actually combines all of the New Generation Heroes in the strongest forms, which includes Ultraman Ginga Victory, Exceed X Beta Spark Armor, Orb Trinity, Geed Ultimate Final, Gruebe and last but not least Taiga Tri-Strium, which out of the group, three of them are already Fusion Dances on their own right. ''Eeesshh''
* MeaningfulName: Played with. His name is a fusion of Tai'''ga''' and '''Rei'''wa, which is the current Japanese era. Due to the time his movie was released, Reiga is the first Ultra of any kind to debut in the Reiwa era.

As he often took on dangerous tasks, Homare puts his high physicality to use while usually partnering with Hiroyuki. He is a working member of E.G.I.S. and often takes on a dangerous task, but he follows Hiroyuki with an activity that makes use of his high physical ability.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: According to the Uchusen Yearbook 2020, his race's name is Alien Amayarum
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He was a street gangster who always pick up a fight with any nearby aliens and at one point worked under the Villain Guild. After finding a new resolve in life, he joined EGIS and becomes one of its most dedicated member.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Doubles as ReformedCriminal; he left the Villain Guild and joined EGIS after finding a new purpose in life.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: After being exposed as an alien by a young girl's invention, Homare quickly had Hiroyuki to be scanned and helped revalidate his disguise by making it as if her machine broke. Why would he pull Hiroyuki (a normal human), who would give a negative reading unless [[spoiler: he knows that the Tri-Squad inhabited Hiroyuki's body can give mixed results]]?
* HumanAliens: He's actually revealed to be an alien belonged to an unknown race, who was exiled from his home planet for unknown reasons. Homare would later reveal his identity to his fellow EGIS members, who did not mind at all.
* LawmanBaton: He favours using a tonfa as his weapon.
* OnlyOneName: According to the [[AllThereInTheManual Uchusen Yearbook 2020]], his real name is Homare. The Souya family name was given to him by Kana.
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler: Already know about Hiroyuki's secret identity as Ultraman Taiga, Titas, & Fuma, but chose to keep it for himself until the last episode.]]

She puts up a rather playful facade but shows a serious attitude when handling an alien case and is observant of her employees. She is a reliable captain who watches over young members while pretending to be vague.
----
* AMotherToHerMen: She is observant of the EGIS members and even hiring those who are regardless aliens or having criminal background. In turn, said members are also loyal to her.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As money pinching as Kana is, [[spoiler: she tore the client from #3's check in half and threw it out after it turned out that he was a total scumbag. 373* MyGreatestFailure: The reason why she founded EGIS is not just to provide security, but also to handle alien-related cases that her previous job in External Affairs Division X cannot handle. This includes a DarkAndTroubledPast where she wasn't able to help an orphaned alien girl and the latter was brought to a research facility.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: To quote her line from episode 1, "Oh well, at least he paid, right?" [[spoiler: Of course, she also tore the client from #3's check in half and threw it out.]]
* ObfuscatingStupidity: She acts like a carefree leader of EGIS but is observant of the members' attitude.

!!!'''Portrayed by:''' Creator/YuumaUchida (voice; Japanese), Michael Rhys (voice; English), Kou Nanase (Kirisaki).
A dark Ultra who has a history with Taro, formerly a shy and reserved Blue Tribe Ultra, he fell to darkness as his insecurities in regards to his powers and competence next to other Ultras, especially his OnlyFriend, Series/UltramanTaro, started to cause blows to his self-esteem and faith in the ideals of the M78 Ultras.

Driven to find if these ideals of light and bonds were as sacred as he was taught they were, Tregear found himself turning away from the light following his discovery of the falls from grace of both [[Characters/UltramanZero Ultraman Belial]] and [[Characters/UltramanMebius Ultraman Hikari]] and instead adopting the powers of darkness and evil as a means of proving the entire ideology of the Ultras to be nothing but naive ideals, spreading chaos across the universe with utmost glee and apathy at the consequences of his actions.

He is the arch-enemy of Series/UltramanTaiga, son of his former friend Taro, who he targets in order to spite the latter. He serves as the central antagonist of all the ''Taiga'' instalments.
----
* AboveGoodAndEvil: He considers himself to be this, at least in regard to the classic definitions of good and evil and their association with light and darkness, respectively. He thinks that all those concepts are bogus and is out to prove them wrong with his actions.
* ActionBomb: Turns out, Tregear is able to uses his own version of the Ultra Dynamite. His flame is blue to contrast with Taro's red.
* AlasPoorVillain: The last thing Tregear does before he and Grimdo are obliterated by Reiga is to cry out Taro's name in sorrow with Taro himself feeling major empathy for his former friend before he is killed for good and softly calling out his name in return. Which in general sums up just how tragic Tregear really was even with all he had done.
* AlternateSelf: He weaponized this trope in order to cheat death, by using Grimdo's power he could transfer his consciousness to take over and reshape the body of an alternate Tregear when killed.
* AmbiguouslyGay: The ''Ultraman Taiga'' novel ''Blue Shadow'' reveals that when Taro was his only friend, Tregear secretly wrote poems of him in admiration. Back when he created the Taiga Spark, he was also planning to name the item as '''Taro''' Spark. Not to mention that his final moments have him sorrowfully calling out to Taro. And his Parallel Isotope ends up convinced to join Absolute Tartarus out of a fear of eventually becoming enemies with Taro if he kept down the same path he was undergoing before his merge with Grimdo.
* AndYourLittleDogToo:
** His purpose of corrupting Taiga into an evil Ultraman is to serve as means of spiting Ultraman Taro, who he feels really conflicted towards but always envied his strength and resented how little his friend understood him.
** Once Hiroyuki and the others saved Taiga from Tregear's corruption, the evil Ultra targeted EGIS members, especially Hiroyuki for no other purposes than to spite him even further.
* ArchEnemy: To Series/UltramanTaiga and his host, Hiroyuki. Tregear is responsible for various tragic events in their lives and they serve as his most direct opposition due to being the son of Tregear's former friend, Ultraman Taro, and his human host who embody everything Tregear stands against.
* ArtInitiatesLife: His dark power can bring drawings into life, and has the potential to create powerful entities such as Snake Darkness in ''Film/UltramanRBTheMovieSelectTheCrystalOfBond''.
* AxCrazy: And how, even more so than Belial of all people as Tregear aims to cause ruin and misery solely because he can rather than having any grander purpose for it. Nevertheless, Tregear is very good at hiding it most of the time provided he doesn't gets frustrated or provoked.
* BadassBookworm: Extracanonical sources stated that he was a scientist in the Land of Light but was a poor combatant, his current self retains the intelligence but is far more powerful, having a variety of superpowers that he combines with his genius mind to cause effective mayhem.
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: At the tail end of ''Manga/DarknessHeelsLili'' he shows up in Chapter 5.3 to kill the Kyrieloid Silo and take his power after he'd fled from his loss to the Darkness Heels.
* BarrierWarrior: Ischyros Heba, An energy shield, durable enough to withstand Grigio Regina's Erga-Trio Cannon.
* BerserkButton: There are only two things that can piss him off: 1) ThePowerOfFriendship that recent Ultraman uses to this day, and 2) disagreeing the fact that light and darkness are the same side of a coin.
* BewareTheSuperman: Like Belial, he was once a benevolent member of the Ultraman race, but turned down a path of evil and used his powers to cause misery and ruin across the multiverse all for his amusement.
* BigBad: Acts as this for ''Film/UltramanRBTheMovieSelectTheCrystalOfBond'' and ''Series/UltramanTaiga''.
** BigBadDuumvirate: In ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'' he is technically subservient to Grimdo, but Tregear's initial prominence compared to the evil God causes their roles in the film to be this.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: He is a firm believer that there is no such thing as good or evil and that the Land of Light's ideals are bollocks. His human form, Kirisaki wears a T-shirt with white on the right and black on the left, further symbolizing his morality.
-->"This is exactly what I mean. [[BlackAndWhiteMorality You guys are always labeling things as black and white]]. I'm telling you, there is no such thing as good or evil in this universe."
* BlueIsCalm: He was once calm and collected when he was a resident of the Land of Light, being a scientist that worked under Hikari's mentorship. Even after his turn to evil, his ''modus operandis'' is far calmer than most other ''Ultra Series'''s villains, in spite of masking a cruel and vindicative personality.
* BreakTheCutie: What Tregear ultimately did to Katsumi in ''R/B The Movie'', by tricking him to a distant alien planet, and then breaking his spirit, his desire to fight, his self-confidence and self-worth as an Ultra warrior, and repeatedly indulging in convincing the Ultra is a failure.
* BrokenPedestal: [[Series/UltramanMebius Ultraman Hikari]] became one for Tregear according to the ''Blue Shadow'' novel. Tregear became bitter and resentful when he learns of [[Series/UltramanMebiusGaiden Hikari's path of revenge]] following the incident on Planet Arb. Even worse when Tsurugi turned on and attacked him.
-->"That intelligent Ultraman Hikari, who was skeptical about fighting! The boss who I used to respect and a proud scientist of the Blue Tribe had fallen into darkness and degenerated into someone seeking vengeance. Ultramen aren't gods. Although we're not gods, we worked to maintaining the balance of the universe, good and evil, light and shadow. The existence of Belial and Hikari were cracks that ran into the Land of Light. Born as an Ultraman, there are some who have enormous power and fascinated by the darkness. Other than our gigantic proportions, the Ultramen are exactly the same as the Earthlings. So aren't we immature creatures?
* CerebusRetcon: His final moments in ''Taiga'' before being obliterated by Taiga Tri-Strium's [[AllYourPowersCombined Quattro Squad Blaster]] has him comparing Taiga's backlit figure from Earth's sun to Taro. Unlike most of the time when he calls the young Ultra as Taro's son just to mess with him, as the ''Blue Shadow'' novel revealed, Tregear's start of friendship with Taro was after his former friend jumped with his back lit by the sun and that image stuck into Tregear's head as his (regrettably) happier moments of his childhood life so his reaction wasn't his usual self, it was a legitimate episode of emotion.
* ContainmentClothing: His suit following his merge with Grimdo was meant to not only showcase his turn to the darkness, but also mantain Grimdo and its power sealed in his body, letting him make full use of it. When Taiga Tri-Strium kills him in the series finale of ''Series/UltramanTaiga'' his seal ends up damaged enough that by the time of his reappearance in ''New Generation Climax'' Grimdo starts to leak out and eventually escapes altogether.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist:
** While just as [[EvilIsHammy bombastic and over the top]] as [[Series/UltramanRB Makoto Aizen/Cereza]], Tregear is ''actually'' an Ultraman, albeit, one fallen, while Makoto was a LoonyFan who could only become an EvilKnockoff of his favorite Ultraman while wishing to be one. There also a wide contrast between their personalities and motivations: Aizen was genuinely AffablyEvil and arranged for EngineeredHeroics to he can "save" the day as the hero the people wanted. Meanwhile, Tregear positively ''revels'' in being FauxAffablyEvil while causing as much pain and misery as he can due to sincerely believing that good and evil are just made up ideas
** Despite his similarities with Belial given that they were [[FallenHero fallen Ultras]] and close friends with one of the members of the Space Garrison, the difference is that Tregear was more of a chaotic StrawNihilist sadistic trickster and manipulator who enjoys causing mayhem for the hell of it, whereas Belial is more of a power-hungry, intergalactic tyrant. Furthermore, Belial no longer considers Ken a friend in any capacity and was implied to always be resentful of his power, whereas Tregear for all his bluster is heavily implied to still harbor some amount of love for Taro and specially targets the Ultraman for that purpose.
* CoolMask: Has a shadowy black mask over his eyes and forehead that furthers his sinister appearance.
* DarkIsEvil: He's a chaotic nihilist who spreads misery and ruin purely to facilitate and validate his views and clad in black and blue colors while oppenly opposing the concepts of light and warmth in favor of favoring darkness and its power.
* ADayInTheLimelight:
** The novel, ''Blue Shadow'', depicts his starts as a timid and well-meaning Ultra, his fall from grace, turn to evil, merge with Grimdo, first acts of evil and encounters with various entities and characters from the franchise overall all from his point of view, allowing viewers to understand him more.
** In addition to Belial's own, parts of Tregear's StartOfDarkness is also chronicled in the second chapter of ''The Absolute Conspiracy''. Most notably in Episode 5, where he takes center stage as we see his fall from grace and Tartarus recruiting him.
* DealWithTheDevil:
** To fully sever his connection to his Ultraman heritage, Tregear has the evil god from Planet Volhes, Grimdo, absorbed into his body and embraces his current title as a demon.
** This is also the means he uses for his JackassGenie approach to granting people's wishes and then use them to destroy their planets, making his victims get what they desire at the price of everything else in a deal with him.
* DimensionalTraveler: Is presented as this, he brought Riku and Pega to ''R/B'''s Earth and Katsumi to an alternate dimension of Pigmons. in ''R/B The Movie'' and has travelled many other dimensions and worlds following his turn to the dark side, either meeting or creating new threats along the way.
* DivingKick: Geargy Dirge, in which he leaps and flying kicks his opponent with a drilling kick, it has enough power to de-transform an Ultra if it connects.
* TheDragon: In ''New Generation Climax'' he serves as this to Grimdo as with the evil entity's imminent escape Tregear is forced to assist it, though he's also the more personal foe of the two against the heroes.
* TheDreaded: Ever since he obtained his powers of darkness, Tregear turned into a figure of dread and caution. So much so that evil aliens like Markind of Villain Guild is willing to call off their auction when he's on the scene.
* EnemySummoner: Thanks to Grimdo's power by simply calling their name, Kirisaki is able to summon monsters through a purple vortex in the sky which are an uncompressed version of his Kaiju Rings.
* EvilBrit: He speaks with a British accent in the English dub of ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightNewGenerationHeroes'', which emphasises his resemblance to a ''James Bond'' villain.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Given his twisted belief towards the idea of justice, as well as his IneffectualLoner attitude, he doesn't and possibly ''never'' will understand ThePowerOfFriendship and TrueCompanions; those two ideas which various Ultra heroes including New Generation Heroes and the Tri Squad have frequently relied on. He mocks the idea and is quite clearly disgusted by mentioning the word "bonds", let alone showing it right in front of his face. Best shown in episode 16 of ''Ultraman Taiga'', when Taiga manages to overcome the darkness through the power of bonds, he drops his scheming attitude and becomes a lot more irritable and deranged. Afterwards, he develops an intense hatred towards Hiroyuki and starts targeting him directly, but not before he hurts his friends, just for the sake of spiting him.
* EvilCounterpart:
** To [[Series/UltramanMebius Ultraman Hikari]]. It's made even more apparent in the ''Blue Shadow'' novel, as they are both blue-bodied Ultras who gave in to the darkness after a fateful incident that changed their lives. Hikari became Hunter Knight Tsurugi out of his vendetta quest against Bogar, while Tregear became more cynical and nihilistic after overhearing Hikari and Belial's fall from grace, as well dismissing the concept of good and evil as nothing more but false beliefs, and willingly absorbed an all-powerful {{Kaiju}} into himself into becoming the most dangerous being in the universe. Unlike Tregear though, Hikari pulled a HeelRealization after being scolded by Zoffy for his lack of concern for the second life he was given by Mother of Ultra and reasoned by Ryu Aihara into releasing Kazuya Serizawa and reclaimed his identity as an Ultraman.
** He is also this to the New Generation Heroes as a whole as they represent ThePowerOfFriendship where the Ultras and their host have embodied their bonds they have for their respective close friends. As Tregear himself embodies ThePowerOfHate, he is presented as a StrawNihilist and pathological {{sociopath}} whose loyalty is to no one but himself.
* EvilerThanThou: Proves to be this to both the Villain's Guild and Alien Chibull Mabuze's forces in ''Taiga'', the Guild are terrified of him thanks to his power and are reduced to non-factors when Tregear gets involved and he easily disposes of Mabuze and his forces using their own bioweapon, Imit-Belial, to boot.
* EvilFormerFriend: Was once Taro's close friend. It's implied that, despite looking upon bonds with contempt, he still holds some level of affection for his former friend.
* EvilIsPetty: His act of corrupting Taiga in episode 15 after goading the latter into overusing the Kaiju Rings can be summed up as his brazen idea of giving Taro the middle finger. [[spoiler:The same can be said in ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'' when he does the same to Taro through Grimdo so he could enjoy at the sight of Taiga fighting his own father.]]
-->'''Tregear:''' You hear that, Number 6?! The darkness is devouring your son!
* EvilSorcerer: With Grimdo's power he's capable of performing vast magical feats such as possessing electronics, create kaiju-summoning artifacts, transform inanimate objects into monsters and so forth. He also employed his powers to create atrocities such as Leugocyte or empower people with magic like Mulnau.
* TheExile: A self-imposed one, he eventually left the Land of Light in his youth once his faith and trust in the power of light and bonds was shattered leading to hi aimlessly wandering the universe before he made contact with Grimdo and subsequently absorbed the Dark God into himself.
* EyeBeams: The Opto Dacrys, a pair of small beams fired from his red eyes.
* FallenHero: He was an Ultraman from the Land of Light, but like Belial before him, Tregear was swayed from the path of good and becomes evil. The ''Blue Shadow'' novel revealed that his disappointment in Ultramen like Belial and Hikari, who was his mentor, being swayed from the path of good in addition to the later outright attacking him in a rage when he became Hunter Knight Tsurugi, and the Land of Light heroes' failure to ensure permanent peace in outer space is what turning him into the path of madness and led to him seeking out dark power for himself. Though he was already falling down the path as a result of his insecurities making him feel inadequate, especially compared to his BornWinner friend, Taro.
* FantasticRacism: Holds all other alien races in a low view, being rather dismayed to cooperate with alien invaders and wiping his hands clean anytime he makes physical contact with them. This view extends to humans as well, though it's far more pronounced thanks to their usual association with good Ultras.
* FatalFlaw: His envy towards other Ultras and their power, it is one of the main sources of Tregear's fall into darkness and drives his worst actions in the story as he desires to spite his former friend, Ultraman Taro by proving his power and that of bonds to be inferior and weak, which in turn accomplishes nothing for him besides alienating any and all connections and friends he might've had or even had such as Taro while also leading to his eventual death.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Be it in his Ultra or human form, Tregear always keeps a formal and friendly gesture, all while pissing off his enemies on a regular basis, all with a smile on his face and committing atrocities without any remorse.
* FinishingMove: Trera Ultigizer, an attack which he summons five energy balls that unleash dark blue beams. Before his turn to evil, it was instead the Teracium Beam a variation of the original Ultraman's Spacium Beam.
* FlowerMotif: Kirisaki's actor, Kou Nanase, describes Tregear to be associated with the image of blue lotus. In Hanakotoba, blue lotus represents pure heart, divinity, estranged love and eloquence. Only the latter two traits that fit Tregear's personality, as a ManipulativeBastard who, deep down, carries a torch for his estranged friend, Taro.
* ForTheEvulz: As far as his motives are concerned, almost everything he did in the franchise was only for his own amusement and enjoys seeing anyone suffer, both the good guys, neutral parties and even already evil aliens alike.
** He also empowered Dark-Killer and Zero Darkness in the final scenes of ''Galaxy Fight'' just to screw the New Generation Heroes again.
* FreudianExcuse: His increasingly worse youth brought about by the stress of learning the flaws in the Land of Light's ideals, a lack of support for his growing mental issues, a growing rift between him and Taro and his own mentor, Hikari, attacking him in a fit of rage after turning into a violent revenge-obsessed warrior became the main reason for his turn to evil.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Tregear was originally a ShrinkingViolet Ultra with massive self-esteem issues and the only friend he could turn to was Series/UltramanTaro, who always overshadowed him, and was also a poor fighter who failed to become a member of the Space Garrison and had to relegate himself to being a scientist. But witnessing his mentor Ultraman Hikari becoming the vengeful Hunter Knight Tsurugi set him down the path that turned him into a nihilistic sociopath who believes that light and darkness are non-existent and becomes the physical embodiment of temptation, despair, death, and destruction and it only got worse once he merged with Grimdo and gained massive power after which he uses his newfound powers to spread ruin across the Multiverse.
* GenerationXerox:
** His past with Taro is basically a retread of Father of Ultra's with Belial. Its even acknowledged in-universe in the pre-premiere special Episode 0. They were friends with each other and had a very close bond before their insecurities led them both down a dark path that ended up driving them to not only be evil but also become spiteful of their former friends, seeking to hurt them in any way they can.
** Like Belial as well, Tregear abandoned his identity as an Ultraman by merging with an ancient evil, effectively changing his appearance and gaining improvements in strength. He also employs several dark powers to either summon, control or create Kaiju.
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: Some of his attacks are Greek-based words. As is the basis of his name.
* GreaterScopeVillain:
** He's the mastermind behind the League of Darkness in ''Ultra Galaxy Fight'' and is also the one who orders the kidnapping of Ultrawoman Grigio, which sets in motion the events of the miniseries.
** His feature novel reveals that he is responsible for Mulnau's [[Film/UltramanOrbTheMovieLendMeThePowerOfBonds development of crystal powers]], which kickstarts the plot of Ultraman Orb's movie.
** He is also responsible for turning Leugocyte into an evil monster, making him behind the events of ''Series/UltramanRB'' and the original Rosso and Blu's deaths.
* HauntedTechnology: Tregear can taint technology pieces such as [=TVs=] with his essence turning them into potentially corruptive elements.
* TheHeavy: In ''New Generation Climax'' he does most of the heavy-lifting against the New Generation Heroes in Grimdo's steed. When the heroes defeat the Monster Army, he immediately offers himself to Grimdo, restoring the evil God's full power and getting absorbed with it.
* HijackedByGanon: For a time, Tregear pretty much took the spot of "evil Ultra behind a bunch of other villains" once Belial was done away with for good.
** In ''Ultra Galaxy Fight'', he turns out to be pulling the strings behind the League of Darkness. Tsuburaya did very little to hide his presence, however.
** ''Blue Shadow'' reveals he was the one who empowered Mulnau, the villain of ''Film/UltramanOrbTheMovieLendMeThePowerOfBonds''.
** Even in ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'', where he's in service to Grimdo, he manages to pull of a variation of this by fusing with Grimdo in the climax to further empower it against the Ultras.
* HistoryRepeats: Taro and Tregear's friendship drifting apart before the events of the series is a repeat of Father of Ultra and Belial's. It doesn't help that both he and Belial are the {{Villain Protagonist}}s in Chapter 2 of ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy'' with their falls from grace being reflections of each others' own.
* {{Hypocrite}}: In any scenes he's in, Tregear would be mad if anyone ever tried to classify the differences of light and shadow as if a person in real life demands for equal rights between races, yet as seen in episode 5, he calls [[{{Ninja}} Ultraman Fuma]] by his home world, Planet O-50 a la FantasticRacism and shows a massive contempt for humans in general.
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Ever since he was young, Tregear was a brilliant and gifted intellectual and yet all that intelligence also severely distanced him from his fellow Ultras. Even his OnlyFriend, Ultraman Taro, ended up drifting away when the latter started to rise up in the ranks of the Land of Light, which Tregear felt relegated him to trying to find a purpose by working for Hikari. The moment when he found out that Hikari turned cruel and ruthless following the attack of Bogarl on Arb ended up making him snap as he felt the last meaningful connection fade away and in turn led to his StartOfDarkness.
* IveComeTooFar: It's implied that Tregear's RedemptionRejection in the final episode of ''Taiga'' was because of how he reflected all of the atrocities he done before and that he risked facing the same fate of imprisonment as Belial did, preferring to be killed rather than return back to the light.
* JackassGenie: As a prequel novel reveals, Tregear following his corruption into evil, was responsible for destroying planets by tempting their inhabitants with wishes that backfired all while enjoying watching his victims suffer.
* JadeColoredGlasses: Tregear was originally as idealistic as other Ultras over the ideas that light triumphed against darkness, but seeing even his respected chief Hikari become the vengeful and aggressive Hunter Knight Tsurugi and discovering the fall from grace of Ultraman Belial drove him to the conclusion that darkness and light are meaningless and set him down the path of evil.
* JokerImmunity: ''Absolutely nothing'' can kill this devil of a trickster at least permanently thanks to his powers from Grimdo. His feature novel reveals that its because of the ability to cheat death by having a body double from an alternate universe taking his place which he gained thanks to Grimdo's power. And ultimately subverted after ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'' where his source of power is destroyed along with him for good, meaning that for the time being there will be no resurrections for him.
* KarmicDeath:
** He spent years tearing apart families, killing many people, turning friends against each other and making anyone he could miserable solely because he desired to prove how useless "bonds" are. His penultimate death in ''Taiga'' comes from the Ultra that he tortured endlessly using the powers of his bonds with the other Tri-Squad members and Hiroyuki to defeat him.
** Finally his last death comes at the hand of an Ultraman fusion made up of the bonds of all the New Generation Heroes, which easily overpowers the source of his power which he held in high steem and thought was superior to the light and bonds.
* KickTheDog: Befitting his {{Sadist}} nature, Tregear seems to enjoy killing or hurting anyone that his targets cherished. He kills Chibisuke/King Guesra and torments EGIS just to spite Hiroyuki, kills Black King to provoke Odyssa into his fighting spirit and slices the benevolent Alien Ghose's [[NonMaliciousMonster peaceful yet offset at the time]] Pandon into pieces when Taiga refused to kill that bird monster, even worse as Tregear is the one who caused its rampage in the first place.
* KilledOffForReal: With the destruction of Grimdo, who reversed his and Tregear's previous merge by assimilating the Dark Ultra into himself, came the true end of Tregear now that his power source no longer exists and he died alongside it. Like Belial, his death has stuck and his only reappearance so far is a Parallel Isotope summoned by [[Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy Absolute Tartarus]].
* KnightOfCerebus: His appearance in ''R/B The Movie'' is enough to nearly remove all lighthearted and humorous moments shifting the film into a serious direction, everywhere else anytime Tregear shows up, chances are that all hell breaks loose either because of his actions or because of what his general character brings around him. While he gets some sillier moments in future appearances, his appearance serves to indicate that things have gotten serious for the heroes.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: His intention to get Taiga corrupted was not only to serve as a middle finger to Taro, but to also goad him into fighting his own father. In the movie, he had Grimdo possess Taro for the sake of seeing both father and son fighting to the death. Its also confirmed in his title novel that he did this with [[Series/UltramanRB Ultraman Rosso]] and his friend in Snake Darkness just to stir Katsumi Minato's heart and cause a fight with lethal results.
* LonersAreFreaks: Even before he turned to evil, he was a loner among Ultras who was considered strange for his unusual interests in darkness, doing things such as seeking places coated in darkness auras and looking for anything that caught his eye and was powerful. This only got worse as he grew up and ended up drifting away from even his only friend, Ultraman Taro.
* MakerOfMonsters: Has the ability to create Kaiju through either people's emotions and objects or through Kaiju rings which he bonds to people in order to transform them into the selected kaiju.
* MalevolentMaskedMan: He's an evil Ultra who spreads ruin and misery for the sake of his twisted ideals and his amusement, heavily characterized by his jester-like mask.
* TheManBehindTheMan: He was responsible for the events of ''Ultraman Orb: The Movie'' by giving Mulnau her crystallizing abilities as well as ''Ultraman R/B'' by brainwashing Leugocyte into a violent, evil monster which led to the original Rosso and Blu's deaths and everything that came after.
* ManipulativeBastard: His MO is to manipulate situations and people so that they do things that will end up benefitting him and unintentionally cause their own downfalls, he will also manipulate even {{Retired Monster}}s or the emotionally vulnerable to drive them to evil actions for his amusement. But by far his most notable use of this is in his plans in ''Taiga'' where he spends half of the series corrupting the titular hero through his Kaiju rings and with some [[BreakingSpeech choice words]] to target his insecurities.
* MaskOfSanity: In a literal and figurative sense, his human form Kirisaki serves to hide his ruthless and vicious personality while blending in among Earthlings. But, when he puts on the Tregear Eye and reveals himself, that's where he unleashes the raving lunatic that we come to know about him.
* MeaningfulName: Translated from Ancient Greek words, Tregear is a merge of the words ''τρελός'' (Trelós) and ''περιέργεια'' (''Periérgeia'') which mean madness and curiosity respectively, befitting his nihilistic aim for destruction and ruin and darkly curious personality.
* MirrorCharacter: He and Ultraman Belial are both disgraced Ultras from the Land of Light after becoming disillusioned by their ideologies. Belial would go on in his attempts to conquer the universe until he is stopped by his son, Ultraman Geed. Tregear would go on to commit a number of atrocities across the galaxy to enforce his contradicting beliefs of light and darkness and had run-ins with the New Generation Heroes until he is beaten by the combined might of the Tri-Squad and their New Generation predecessors. Both of their Parallel Isotope counterparts would eventually meet in ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy'' as members of The Kingdom.
* MookMaker: Can transform a random human into monsters with his darkness powers or by merging them with a Kaiju Ring.
* MonsterClown: Has a jester motif in general with his pointed feet, penchant for chaos and his general sense of humor derived from malicious "trolling" of his foes. He is not comedic once he lets the facade down and is generally always a serious threat.
* MonsterLord: Can create and command Kaiju through the Kaiju rings, or transform people into Kaiju and take control of them.
* MythologyGag: His penchant for corrupting others with the power of darkness, black and blue coloration, jester motif and red eyes brings in mind to [[Series/UltramanCosmos Chaos Header]]'s Chaos Ultraman form.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: He attempts to stop Taiga from feeding Woola with his energy and launched an energy ball attack, but Taiga fired a Wide Shot and combined it with Tregear's own attack to completely satiate Woola's hunger for good.
* NightmareFetishist: Ever since he was a child, the prospect of darkness and monsters always interested him and led to him trying to research about it which was seen by other Ultras in the Land of Light as a taboo. Once he abandoned his homeworld he carried this fascination to the next level, culminating in him absorbing Grimdo's power into his body and beginning his reign of terror.
* NonActionGuy: PlayedForDrama. Before gaining the power of Grimdo, being part of the blue tribe also meant that Tregear was one of the weakest and least-adequate combatants among the Land of Light's kin. He fails to enter the Space Garrison to catch up to his friend, Taro, and their drifting relationship is the fuel for his StartOfDarkness.
* NotQuiteDead: He survives his apparent deaths at the end of ''R/B The Movie'' and ''Taiga'', though in the second one he ends up battered enough that his power source begins to leak away.
* OnlyFriend: As a child, the young Tregear regarded Taro as his only companion (and perhaps [[AmbiguouslyGay more]]) despite his introversion. Every moment of friendship they shared in the past went down the drain after his FaceHeelTurn, though even then Tregear is heavily implied to still hold some affection for Taro, even if both Ultras know they can't be friends anymore.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: He's basically AffablyEvil and a trickster, but when Ultraman Taro appears, he drops all the aforementioned traits showing either pure anger or hints of emotions such as sorrow and long-gone happiness.
-->'''Tregear''': Don't act like some galactic guardsman! Who decided the light is justice?!
* OutOfContinues: Tregear cheated death countless times thanks to his powers from Grimdo that allowed him to use alternate universe duplicates to supplant every body destroyed. Once Grimdo is fully unleashed and he lets himself be absorbed by the Dark God, he can no longer use this power. When Grimdo is obliterated by Ultraman Reiga, Tregear dies for good with it.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: In episode 23 of ''Taiga'' he sets Imit-Belial on the building where Alien Chibull Mabuze and his underlings are hiding in, getting them crushed by the rubble of the collapsing building. While the act seems outwardly cruel, the group were criminal aliens who were planning to conquer the Universe using [[TheCorrupter Devil's Splinters]] to create clones of Ultraman Belial and his other forms, therefore Tregear' killing of them is well-deserved.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: With Grimdo's power, Tregear can unleash destruction on a galactic scale even without any subordinate forces. Either by using his power directly, summoning kaiju, creating them, helping out evil forces or just making innocent people make deals with him that would end up destroying their worlds.
* PowerLimiter: The armor he wears not only serves as a cosmetic indicator of his current alignment, it also serves as means to contain Grimdo, the source of his powers and darkness. When the armor gets damaged by Taiga, it causes Grimdo's essence to start escaping and taking away most of Tregear's power.
* PracticallyJoker: He has quite a bit in common with the Joker seen in ''Film/TheDarkKnight'' when it comes to characterization and motivations, being a flamboyant straw nihilist who commits atrocities purely to prove a point. He also has an obsession with a heroic character and acts as a {{foil}} to the heroes and the themes they represent.
* ProtagonistJourneyToVillain: The novel ''Blue Shadow'' and Episode 5 of Absolute Conspiracy focuses on his younger years and how he eventually [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope lost his grip on the light]] before embracing his FaceHeelTurn and many subsequent evil acts he did to prove his new ideals.
* RedemptionRejection: Taiga tries to offer him another chance of redemption by returning to their home world again. He quickly shot down the offer and prefers to be killed instead, and though he survives this near-death experience it directly sets up his true final death in ''New Generation Climax''.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes always shine red after his merge with Grimdo, to further this his eyes were blue before he turned evil.
* TheResenter: Always secretly resented being a blue tribe Ultra whose power never would get close to that of Red Tribe Ultras, especially his friend Taro, as he always desired to be on the battlefield fighting evil. This was one of many factors that led to his distancing from Taro when the latter's BornWinner nature meant that he could not fully understand Tregear's issues and eventually turning to evil. Years after his fall from grace, he's heavily implied to still hold massive resentment against Taro for this and all other Ultras by extension.
* SanitySlippage: Even before his fall from grace, Tregear's mental stability was taking a nosedive as he felt his life crumble around him, from failing to catch up in power to his OnlyFriend, Taro, signified by his failure to become a member of the Space Garrison and having learned of Belial's fall from grace, the nail in the coffin for any and all semblance of stability he had was his respected chief, Ultraman Hikari, turning into the vengeful Hunter Knight Tsurugi out of anger and hatred and subsequently attacking Tregear in a blind rage.
* SealedEvilInACan: His chest part is meant to keep Grimdo's power and presence from escaping his body. After his defeat in Taiga, the seal starts to break away causing the evil God to leak out slowly and eventually causes him to lose most of his powers along with his immortality.
* ShadowArchetype: Tregear is basically what Taiga would be like if he had lost sight of his [[WideEyedIdealist ideals]], had not met [[TrueCompanions Titas and Fuma]] nor have bonded with Hiroyuki. It's even pointed out by Taro himself in Episode 0 and is taken literally when Tregear briefly corrupts Taiga in episode 15 to make him feel what it's like to be cold and alone with darkness slowly consuming him and his friends unable to do anything about but watch him being corrupted.
-->'''Ultraman Taro''': If your heart is weak, you'll fall into the darkness just like Belial did, even as an Ultraman. [[HistoryRepeats Just like my old friend]]...
* ShockAndAwe: He has two abilities that allow him to blast opponents with powerful electric attacks, the aforementioned Trera Ultigizer and Trera Cheir Phos.
* ShoutOut:
** Has a mask-like design on his face, which is nigh-identical to Luin Lee/Mask from ''Anime/GundamReconguistaInG''.
** Additionally, ''R/B The Movie'''s plot has him attempting to collect negative human energies and create monsters based on drawings made by them. Coupled with Tregear turning Yukio into Snake Darkness, this makes him an Ultraman version of [[Series/DenkouChoujinGridman Khan Digifer]] or [[Anime/SSSSGridman Alexis Kerib]].
** Tregear's general way of walking and talking is meant to evoke the way that a British villain from ''Franchise/JamesBond'' would do, complete with being voiced with a British accent in the English dub for ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightNewGenerationHeroes''.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: As revealed in works after the run of ''Series/UltramanTaiga'' ended, Tregear created the Astral Particle Conversion System that allows Ultras to bond with any creatures to further assist them in their fight in the multiverse. That very device is the [[Series/UltramanTaiga Taiga Spark]].
* ShrinkingViolet: According to both the ''Blue Shadow'' novel and in ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightTheAbsoluteConspiracy'', Tregear's personality before his FaceHeelTurn shows signs of inferiority complex -- due to the fact he is a Blue Tribe Ultra and lacks the stamina to keep up with red ones like Taro; which leaves him in a state of self-loathing for that matter. Despite this, he makes up for his genius-level intellect; which only makes him [[IntelligenceEqualsIsolation unable to form mutual connection]] with others, let alone [[OnlyFriend Taro]] himself.
-->'''Young Taro''': Who's that kid?\
'''Taro's classmate''': Oh, that blue one? He's always staring at the sky alone.\
'''Another classmate''': Even if you invite him to play, he will always be gone halfway.\
'''The rest''': That's right.....
* SissyVillain: His mannerisms are very graceful and effeminate, such as his limp-wristed movements when tempting Yukio or daintily sitting on top of a building while watching Taiga fight Imitation Belial, and his backstory in ''Blue Shadow'' implies he's AmbiguouslyGay. Notably, he only developed these mannerisms after he fused with Grimdo to achieve his current, ObviouslyEvil form.
* TheSociopath: Tregear has a [[BlueAndOrangeMorality very warped worldview]] of good and evil. From what he lacks from Belial's impulse control and ego, [[TheChessmaster Ultraman Tregear]] makes up for his [[FauxAffablyEvil superficial charm]], intelligence, [[ManipulativeBastard cunning and manipulation]]. That being said, Tregear has a very [[BlueAndOrangeMorality warped worldview]] of good and evil and this [[StrawNihilist nihilistic]] mindset is rooted back from Belial and Hikari's descent into darkness before his own StartOfDarkness. When he's not ranting about light and dark being non-existent, Tregear shamelessly manipulates and [[TheCorrupter corrupts]] any living being into committing atrocities just for kicks, is [[LackOfEmpathy incapable of empathy]] and has [[EvilCannotComprehendGood little to no understanding of why Ultramen are fighting to protect humans and other benign monsters alike]].
* StrawNihilist: This is everything that Tregear stood for. Tregear's StartOfDarkness also roots from overhearing both Belial and Hikari's fall from grace in the novel and later revealed to have been attacked by Hikari when the latter turned into Hunter Knight Tsurugi to boot. To him, good and evil, light and darkness are devoid of meaning. He also has a pathological urge to cause mayhem across the galaxy just to fuel his hatred for anything that resemble the "bonds" that every Ultra stands for.
* SuperpowerLottery: Thanks to absorbing Grimdo into himself, Tregear gained a lot of new powers in addition to his pre-existing Ultraman arsenal. Among these powers are: [[DeathIsCheap avoiding death]] by using [[AlternateSelf alternate universe Tregears]] as replacement bodies for his consciousness, [[TheCorrupter corrupting living beings]], EyeBeams, [[HauntedTechnology possess electonic devices]], and boosts to his already existing abilities such as beams, kicks and strength.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: To Ultraman Belial, as both Ultras originates from Nebula M78 and both were estranged from Father of Ultra and Taro, then followed suit by merging with an evil deity and using its power to spread ruin and cheat death over and over while menacing several heroes in various instalments. Director Masayoshi Takesue confirmed their similarities were intentional.
* SuicideByCop: His death at the end of ''Taiga'' had him open his arms and allow himself to be fired upon by Taiga Tri-Strium's Quattro Squad Blaster at full power, obliterating him. He survived this, but the sheer strain of the attack eventually leads to his death for good in ''New Generation Climax''.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Tregear might be a messed up, sociopathic StrawNihilist; but upon calling out Taro's name in a sorrowful voice just as before he is destroyed along with Grimdo evokes enough sympathy that Taro quietly calls out Tregear's name in response as he watches his old friend be killed for good.
* TerroristWithoutACause: He causes acts of destruction and chaos across the Multiverse, but he has no real grandiose purpose or end goal for them besides proving his delusions right, rather just wanting to cause the destruction out of spite against the entirety of the Land of Light and stick the middle finger to his former friend, Taro.
* ThereAreNoTherapists: No matter how clear and unsubtle his growing interest in darkness and evil, in addition to his budding insanity there was never any indication that Tregear received any form of mental therapy or guidance. Which only helped to worsen his situation up until it was too late and Tregear had fully descended into villainy.
* TookALevelInCynic: Before his outright turn to evil, Tregear went from an idealistic and positive Ultraman to a jaded and nihilistic neutral aligned Ultraman following his mentor Ultraman Hikari's fall from grace having lost all faith in the ideals that the Ultras held dear and choosing to aim the cosmos aimlessly pursuing answers to his doubts.
* TragicVillain: Unlike Belial whose motivation is power and universal conquest and was shown later to not having been that good of a guy before his turn to evil, Tregear started out as a rather insecure and isolated individual despite his genius-level intellect and had only one person that he considered his friend, Ultraman Taro, but Taro's growing power caused their friendship to drift apart and then forced him to seek out help from Hikari, who then turned into the cruel Knight Tsurugi and attacked him in a fit of rage. Seeing Hikari and Belial going insane and turning away from the light and the ideals of the Land of Light was the last straw that turned him into the nihilistic mastermind that he is now today, with him going as far as merging with the ancient evil God Grimdo, so as to renounce his Ultraman identity. In his death throes, the last thing Tregear does before he and Grimdo are destroyed by Reiga was to cry out Taro's name in sorrow even though he himself knows he's beyond redemption.
* TransformationTrinket: He has the Tregear Eye, which functions similarly to the [[Series/UltraSeven Ultra Eye]] and [[Franchise/UltramanZero Ultra Zero Eye]]. Episode 17 reveals that he can just morph freely into his Ultraman form at will, but that's the only instance we've seen of it. It seems to be his mockery of the Ultras' usual transformation devices. Although ''The Absolute Conspiracy'' shows that it was originally created to transform him into his fallen Ultra form.
* {{Troll}}: He enjoys poking fun the Tri Squad, especially Taiga whom he called "son of Ultraman Taro" instead of his name to get on the young Ultra his nerves even further. In general, he can be considered a malicious troll whose torment of others is meant to either hurt them permanently or outright kill them. Unlike Belial's tendency to zig-zag between ruling over others and causing havoc for the heck of it, Tregear is a firm force of evil chaos seeking destruction for the sake of it and having no plans to rule over anything or have an empire and his entire shtick is all based on malicious destructive "trolling" of his foes.
* TheUnfettered: He will do anything to get his points across, no matter how many lives are lost, how many suffer pointlessly and how much bridges he burns all is pointless to Tregear's pursuit of proving that the Land of Light's ideals are flawed fallacies.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: {{Downplayed}}. Tregear was not always the nasty monster he became, in his earlier years and childhood the worst to come out of him was a severe lack of socialization skills and friends, which led to him being an isolated Ultra, though at the least he always held his fellow Ultras and their heroism in high steem. All of that slowly faded away over the years up until he became the villain he is nowadays.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He and Taro used to be the best of friends, and in Tregear's case Taro was his OnlyFriend, but after drifting away from Taro due to his growing perception of the light and darkness concepts of the Ultras as bogus concepts the two never recovered their friendship and over time became enemies once Tregear turned to evil.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: Like Belial before him, as a result of his turn to evil, Tregear cannot go back home anymore, which he is well aware of.

[[caption-width-right:350:Tregear's human form, Kirisaki.]]
The human guise of Tregear, which the evil Ultra employs to spread ruin and devastation while going undetected by the Tri-Squad or anyone else on Earth. Dressed in a white and black coat, Kirisaki strikes from the shadows and slowly unravels his true plot as the series goes.
----
* AliensAmongUs: Tregear's chosen form to roam around humanity undetected.
* DealWithTheDevil: Kirasaki's modus operandi is to lure aliens, both good and bad, into making deals with him so they cause destruction on Earth for his amusement.
* PassThePopcorn: Most of the time as Kirisaki, he is always seen eating his popcorn, biting a beef jerky, cracking walnuts and even drinking bubble tea while bearing witness of the ensuing chaos.
* PerpetualSmiler: Kirisaki always sports a sinister smile.
* ShoutOut: Kirisaki's habit of carrying balloons while standing in a place in a creepy fashion is similar to [[Literature/{{It}} Pennywise]], while his monochrome shirt leans on [[Franchise/DanganRonpa Monokuma]]. Likewise, their current appearance is merely a disguise and they have a penchant for inducing mental torture to their targets.
* TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse: Other than the blue streaks on his hair, Kirisaki's appearance by itself doesn't gives away that he's Tregear human form thanks to its mundanity even with its colorful clothing.

[[caption-width-right:200:Tregear in his uncorrupted form, Early Style.]]
An alternate version of Tregear recruited by Absolute Tartarus under the promise of changing Tregear's original fate of becoming an evil Ultra that opposes Taro. He is partnered with a Parallel Isotope [[Characters/UltramanZero Ultraman Belial]] to help fight against the Ultras.
----
* AlternateSelf: To the original Tregear, with events diverging after his conflict with Hikari so that he joins Tartarus in his quest instead of absorbing Grimdo's power.
* BlueOniRedOni: The Blue to Belial's Red; he is calmer, less hammy, more analytical and even his motivations are far less reckless with Tregear planning to stop the future of him becoming a chaotic villain true in contrast to Belial wanting more power at all costs.
* DealWithTheDevil: This time with Absolute Tartarus instead of Grimdo, the villain gives him enough power to match Ultraman Zero.
* FaceYourFears: Tartarus uses an Isotope Night Fang to forcefully make Tregear see visions of Taro abandoning him which is his greatest fear, as means of swaying the Blue Ultra to his side.
* {{Foil}}: To his partner, Parallel Isotope Belial, both were once friends with a red tribe Ultra but fell to darkness due to admiring it and in here they both join Tartarus to avoid their main timeline fates. However, while Belial joins Tartarus out of self-interest in his own strength and to prevent his defeats and death, Tregear joins the Absolutian out of fear of eventually turning against Taro.
* FutureMeScaresMe: In contrast to Belial who goes mad from discovering his future, he's outright horrified to learn that his future will involve him turning against Taro and becoming an evil villain bent on ruin and chaos, taking up Tartarus' offer so as to avoid his fate.
* InSpiteOfANail: Tartarus' interference changes the overall context of his downfall into evil, but the same thing that happened in the main timeline happens here as Tregear becomes evil and is granted power by an evil entity after leaving the Land of Light.
* KarmaHoudini: Like his employer and surviving teammates, Tregear gets away from ''Absolute Conspiracy'' without suffering any consequences for his involvement in Tartarus' plot.
* PrecisionFStrike: In the English dub of ''The Absolute Conspiracy'', a frightened Tregear actually asks "Who the ''hell'' are you?" during his first meeting with Tartarus.
* VillainousFriendship: He gets well along with the Parallel Isotope Ultraman Belial that he is assigned to work with by Tartarus, in stark contrast to his relationships with everyone else.

An evil clone of Ultraman Geed, created by Ultra Dark Killer by sampling on Geed's light energy and merged it with his Killer Plasma.
----
* CompositeCharacter:
** He is visually appears as Ultraman Geed back when he was BrainwashedAndCrazy from episode 17 with the color schemes of [[Franchise/UltramanZero Ultraman Belial]]. In other words, he is the ideal version of how Belial sees his son if the latter accept his offer to [[WeCanRuleTogether rule together]].
** Additionally, he is also based on the concept of Geed's [[https://ultra.fandom.com/wiki/Geed%27s_Brothers "older brothers"]] from the 2018 Ultra Heroes EXPO, who consist of a trio of failed clones of Belial created before Ultraman Geed, making them his older brothers of sorts.
* EvilKnockoff: Of Ultraman Geed
* EvilSoundsDeep: His own grunts are deep and distorted versions of the original Geed.
* FinishingMove: Wrecking Darkness Burst.
* MythologyGag: His color scheme is a reference to episode 16 of ''Series/UltramanGeed'' when Belial slammed Geed's face against the ground, getting dirt on it. His red eyes were demonstrated twice on his template; first when he was under Belial's trance and second when Riku gave in to his anger to destroy Galactron [=MK2=].
* PowerCopying: Being a copy of Geed, he also has a set of his template's original powers.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: His color scheme, as well as a bit of purple to his chest and shoulders, and even his face.
* SuperScream: Wrecking Darkness Roar, launching a sonic roar towards his target.

An evil clone of Ultraman Orb, created by Ultramen X and Geed Darkness by sampling on Orb's light energy and merged it with their Killer Plasma.
----
* {{BFS}}: Darkness Calibur, an EvilKnockoff of Orbcalibur. Like the original as well, the sword can still utilize all the same abilities.
* CompositeCharacter: He is basically a case of real life PropRecycling, wherein he reuses the suit of [[Series/UltramanRB Ultraman Orb Dark]] with the metallic parts on his chest colored blue and his face gains tribal markings, especially blue "tear" lines to emphasize [[Series/UltramanCosmos Chaos Ultraman]].
* DarkIsEvil: Is entirely black, and the red portion only goes to his eyes and Color Timer.
* EvilSoundsDeep: A given by all Darkness copies of New Generation Heroes, his is the deepened version of Orb's grunts.
* ImperfectRitual: The October 2019 magazine revealed that Orb Darkness' lack of red color is this, due to Ultraman Victory stopping their process halfway before saving Orb. This does not hinder him however, as Orb Darkness is already as strong as the original template.
* MythologyGag: All those four purple metallic parts on his chest and his red Color Timer eerily gives him a resemblance to [[Series/UltramanOrb Juggler]]'s Dark Ring.
* PowerCopying: He was seen using a copy of Orbcalibur and can also initiate the same Orb Supreme Calibur.

An evil clone of Ultraman Zero, created by Ultra Dark Killer by sampling on Zero's light energy and merged it with his Killer Plasma. Unlike the others, he is a literal copy based on Zero's existing form during Belial's DemonicPossession on the hot-blooded hero in the events of ''Ultra Zero Fight 2''.
----
For the original Ultraman Zero or Belial's tropes, see [[Characters/UltramanZero here]].

* AdaptationalOriginConnection: See below
* DecompositeCharacter: The original Zero Darkness was Ultraman Zero's body as the receiving end of DemonicPossession from Belial's wandering spirit after a BatmanGambit. Here, he is an evil clone of hero made by Ultra Dark Killer.
* IKnowWhatYouFear: A justified case of why he looks like Zero's possessed form by Belial; its because Dark-Killer choose him to resemble said form as an intimidation.
* InsistentTerminology: The Magazine/TeleviKun magazine refers to him as '''Ultraman''' Zero Darkness to differentiate him from that possessed form of Zero.

The main antagonist of ''Film/UltramanTaigaTheMovieNewGenerationClimax'', a monster that was sealed [[spoiler:within Tregear's body, which explains his ridiculously overpowered status in most of his appearances. Not that it stops Grimdo from escaping again.
----
* AttackOfTheMonsterAppendage: A really weird example. In his penultimate form, Grimdo can summon floating limbs and paws to attack the Ultras.
* CastingAShadow: The moment it reveals it's final form, the first thing Grimdo did is to envelop the whole city in absolute darkness. [[spoiler: The darkness disspiates upon it's death]].
* ChaosIsEvil: Stated to be the embodiment of chaos. Reflected in the fact that, while it does show some level of sapience, it doesn't seem to have much of a motive other than to rampage and cause havoc.

* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler:When Taro performs Ultra Dynamite to save his son, Grimdo took that opportunity to possess him when his body was about to reform, causing the whole drama in the movie. Taiga frees Taro using the Tri Squad's own variation of Ultra Dynamite]].
* DevourTheDragon: [[spoiler:Tregear allows himself to be consumed by Grimdo for the monster to become several times larger than any of the present Ultras.]]
* TheDreaded: The moment the various alien thugs in the city hears Grimdo's name being mentioned, the OhCrap look in their faces is imminent. And for good reason, too.
* EldritchAbomination: It's a primordial being that existed long before the formation of the universe in the form of chaos, and had to be sealed away for the universe to sort itself out. Even its ultimate form is monstrous by {{Kaiju}} standards.
* EyeBeams: Technically it's eye ''beam'' (singular) since it only has a single eye, but... you get the point. Additionally Grimdo can also summon numerous floating eyes, all which can fire their own beams, which he uses to take down several Ultras,
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Has a pair of them on its chest in addition to a cyclops-like mono eye on his head.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler: His main eye, in the face, is the monster's sole weak spot, and in the final battle Ultraman Reiga ultimately managed to defeat Grimdo by penetrating it's main eye with the Reiga Combined Shoot]].
* FacelessEye: His default form after being sealed by the New Generation Heroes. Until he was released by Tregear. And in the final battle, he can summon giant floating eyes ''everywhere'' to sic energy beams on the Ultras.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[spoiler:In the movie, Grimdo unleashes energy spikes that empowers Tregear's summoned monsters. Flash forward to''Series/UltramanZ'' has a similar plot where spikes from remains of Ultraman Belial's body turns monsters into berserkers.]]
* GodOfEvil: Its subtitle ''is'' Evil Deity Demon Monster.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Of ''Film/UltramanRBTheMovieSelectTheCrystalOfBond'' and ''Series/UltramanTaiga'', since it is the being who enabled Tregear to become nigh-immortal. By extension it's also this for ''Film/UltramanOrbTheMovieLendMeThePowerOfBonds'' and ''Series/UltramanRB'' as well, as Grimdo's power allowed Tregear to perform his evil actions such as providing Mulnau with her crystal powers and corrupting Leugocyte.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: "Malicious Demon Monster Grimdo". [[SarcasmMode What a friendly-sounding name, right]]?
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Just look at this monster's menacing figure on the right. If that mono eye isn't frightening enough, then its body build and a face-like torso definitely count.
* SealedEvilInACan: [[spoiler:Grimdo was originally sealed in the Space Ruins Volhes before Tregear invited the monster into his body, and Taiga Tri-Strium accidentally opened the lock by unleashing Quattro Squad Blaster on Tregear.]] Its second seal was made by the New Generation Heroes at the cost of their transformation powers.
* SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan: [[spoiler:Grimdo's true nature is that it was imprisoned within Tregear's own body and had been the source of his tremendous power ever since]].
* ShockAndAwe: Grimdo can unleash beams of purple lightning, an ability which his hosts possess as well. Like Ultraman Tregear and [[spoiler: Ultraman Taro]].

Both were bio-weapons from a previous season (Oil Drinker is a Choju, a sub-type of monsters from ''Series/UltramanAce'') and were beaten by a natural-born but stronger monsters who get to be the titular Ultra's first kill.
* TorsoWithAView: Faces this fate at the tip of Hellberus' tail.
* TheWorfEffect: Zegan was no slouch when it fought Series/UltramanGeed and continues to further demonstrate its power for potential buyers in the battle against Zandrias. Of course, the tables got turned the moment Hellberus showed up.

!!Zandrias
-->'''First Appearance:''' Buddy Go!
A young mother monster that came to Earth in pursuit of its baby, which had been captured by Alien Magma in order to give Zegun something to demonstrate its power against. The battle did not go very well for the bat-like kaiju, but things got even worse with the arrival of Hellberus.

* MamaBear: So ferociously protective of its child that it was willing to battle the far stronger Zegun and Hellberus to save it.
* IHaveYourWife: Alien Magma has her son, and is using the baby as leverage to force her into combat.

!! Hellberus
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hellberus_render_6.png]]
-->'''First Appearance:''' Buddy Go!
Hellberus is the first kaiju that was summoned by Kirisaki to Earth, interrupting the ongoing battle between Zegun and Zandrias. With sharp blades growing all over parts of its body, it can slice through nearly any objects easily, making it an appropriately formidable beginner enemy in Hiroyuki's career as Ultraman Taiga. The monster was later brought back by Kirisaki alongside Night Fang to fight against Fuma and Titas when Taiga was successfully corrupted by Tregear.
----
* BackFromTheDead: In episode 16, thanks to Kirisaki using the monster's Kaiju Ring.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Hellberus' tail is tipped with a sharp spike, which can easily impale another monster such as Zegan.
* BreathWeapon: It can breathe fire.
* DemotedToDragon: In TheMovie.
* KickTheDog: After Zegan, it took over the job of harassing Young Mother Zandrias.
* MythologyGag: Hellberus' role in episode 1 is similar to Astromons from ''Ultraman Taro'', in that they are monsters from outer space who displayed their might by killing a monster weapon belonging to a previous season. In fact, they became the titular Ultra's first kill.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Hellberus, as in "Hell", with the second part comes from "Cerberus", the three-headed hound of Hades. Its BossSubtitles is even "Ultimate Disaster Monster".
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Black colored skin with reddish protrusions.
* RuleOfSymbolism: Per WordOfGod, its red color is a ShoutOut to UsefulNotes/SanadaYukimura's armor.
* ShockAndAwe: Shoot lightning from its horns.
* SpikeShooter: Its back thorns can shoot energy projectiles which rains upon the opponent.
* StarterVillain: One that becomes Taiga's first kill.
* SwordBeam: Throws crescent energy blades called the Hell Slash from the blades on its arms.
* TailSlap: Throws this attack quite a bit when not trying to stab foes with its tail.
* VillainTeamUp: With Night Fang when the two are revived by Kirisaki.

Long ago, Chibisuke was a baby Gesura who befriended Hiroyuki until it was kidnapped by the [[Series/UltraQDarkFantasy Rekyum Man]]. 845
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Courtesy of the microchip in its brain, which linked to the Rekyum Man's controller, and later Kirisaki through his psychokinesis.
* HeroicSacrifice: For all the trouble Hiroyuki goes into saving Chibisuke, the monster sacrificed itself to protect Taiga and its old friend from Tregear's attack.
* MythologyGag: According to [[AllThereInTheManual outside sources]], the first King Gesura, which appeared in ''Film/SuperiorUltraman8Brothers'' is the original Gesura from ''Series/{{Ultraman}}'' modified into a stronger form. Chibisuke follows that example, although instead of being [[BackFromTheDead resurrected from the dead]], it was subjected to remodeling at a younger age.
** Additionally, it eats cacao beans, just like the first Gesura.
* ReforgedIntoAMinion: Chibisuke was kidnapped in its juvenile state by the Rekyum Man and spends the next 12 years remodeled into a giant monster weapon to be sold by the Villain Guild.
* SecretHandshake: Hiroyuki (and Taiga) performs one to make Chibisuke return to its senses. It works, but...
* ShesAllGrownUp: In a rather twisted way, Hiroyuki learns that Chibisuke is no longer the innocent critter he used to befriend with.
* SpikeShooter: Like in ''Series/UltramanX'', King Gesura can shoot out a hailstorm of the poisonous spines on its back.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: It likes eating cacao beans, and as Chibisuke, it feeds on Hiroyuki's chocolate.

!! Rento Kujo/Galactron MK 2
!!! Portrayed by: Kenta Mishima
-->'''First Appearance:''' Avenger of the Stars
Originally an astronaut named Rento Kujo, he and his wife Nana was killed when a rocket launched by the president of Cozmo Technica accidentally blew up their space station. He was resurrected by Tregear and given the ability to become Galactron MK 2, which he used to get revenge for Nana's death. The monster robot was brought back in the finale by Kirisaki to battle Taiga and draw out the planet-eating garbage monster Woola.
----
See Characters/UltramanGeed

* BackForTheFinale: Kirisaki uses its Kaiju Ring to bring it back and fight Taiga again, only for the giant robot to get eaten by Woola.
* CameBackWrong: He is a human astronaut who died in the cold vacuum of space and got revived as a HumongousMecha.
* DealWithTheDevil: He was revived by Tregear to enact his revenge in a month after his death.
* TheLostLenore: While Rento died with his wife, he becomes this when Tregear revived '''only''' him.
* MythologyGag: Rento is based on both incarnations of Jamila, as they were astronauts who return to Earth for revenge when their disappearances were covered up by a big conspiracy.
* ThePowerOfHate: Like [[Series/UltramanRB Snake Darkness]], this Galactron runs on Rento's hatred for the [[ItsAllAboutMe narcissistic]] president of a space exploration group. Even with Rento's spirit exorcised, said Galactron just continues to function.
* TeleportGun: He gains one that can create portals and doubles as his TransformationTrinket into Galactron.
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler:Titas exorcised Rento from Galactron MK 2, allowing reunite with his wife and their spirit passes on to the outer space. Galactron MK 2 on the other hand remains functional.]]
* TheWorfEffect: As its episode marks the return of Ultraman Titas, Galactron MK 2 also serves to demonstrate the new hero's sheer strength. Later on, Galactron MK 2 is hit by this again when Kirisaki uses it to as bait to lure out Woola, with the giant robot getting completely wrecked and devoured by the new monster.
* WreckedWeapon: Its Galactron Veil shattered to pieces by a single punch from Titas.

-->'''First Appearance:''' Requiem of the Wolves
A monster sealed inside of a bomb that was acquired by the ex-Villain Guild member Volk from his former master, the [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Alien Zetton]] Zolin. Volk used the explosive and the monster it was carrying to blackmail the Japanese government for a massive ransom.
----
See Characters/UltramanOrb

* AdaptationalWimp: It is justified that the original Deavorick was summoned by Mulnau and the Dark Ring, hence the ability to crystallize everything on its sight and able to defeat Ultraman X himself. Here, Deavorick is just a monster weapon whose easily trashed by another Ultraman from O-50, Fuma.
* SealedEvilInACan: It was placed inside of an explosive that when detonated released the monster at its full size.
* TheWorfEffect: Its appearance also marks the return of Ultraman Fuma, whose SuperSpeed allows him to overcome the kaiju's BeamSpam in ways that Taiga was unable to.
* WreckedWeapon: Fuma knocks off its ArmCannon during the fight.

!! Alien Seger Aoi
!!! '''Portrayed by''': Rion Tanamoto
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/segerseijinaoi.png]]
-->'''First Appearance:''' The Future You Decide
An alien race that values working endlessly above all else, the Segers take over habitable planets using the monster Segmeger, which is conjured to a targeted world by an individual known as the Summoner. With the aliens targeting Earth, a Summoner named Aoi is sent to command Segmeger, but there, she befriends Pirika .
----
* CrystalBall: Much like Commander Black in ''Series/UltramanLeo'', Aoi summons her kaiju using one.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:In penitence for all the planets she has destroyed in her career, Aoi transfers her life force from her crystal ball to re-energize Titas and weaken Segmeger.]]
* HumanAliens: They appear to be such based on what we see of Aoi.
* PunchClockVillain: Aoi sees her job position as a Summoner in the same way others would view a white-collar working job. Even despite her destructive occupation, she's very friendly. [[spoiler:Ultimately, however, she comes to realize the horrendous nature of her job and chooses to sacrifice herself.]]
* SoulJar: Aoi's crystal ball acts as one.
* {{Workaholic}}: The species' entire culture is based around such, with even things like planetary conquest being treated in the same way as a highly competitive (and very toxic) office space.

!! Alien Damara

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/damara.png]]
-->'''First Appearance:''' The Future You Decide
An alien whose homeworld was one of several planets destroyed by the Seger aliens in their galactic conquest. He was the one who told EGIS that Segmeger was an alien tool of conquest and not a simple rampaging brute.
----
* HumanAliens: It is unclear if he is in a disguise or not, however.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: He speaks in a double-echoing voice.

!! Segmeger
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/segmeger_2.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance:''' The Future You Decide
A highly poisonous monster used by the Alien Seger to invade and destroy other planets. Not only were its deadly toxins injurious to Hiroyuki, but its connection to the Summoner Aoi meant the creature could be called forth endlessly no matter how many times it was destroyed.
----
* AchillesHeel: Because Segemeger is completely tied to Aoi's crystal ball and the life force contained within it, removing said life force weakens Segmeger and neutralizes its poisons.
* AttackTheTail: Titas rips off it's tail during their battle.
* BloodyMurder: Its purple blood is as every bit as poisonous as its breath, which makes injuring every bit as dangerous.
* BreathWeapon: Its Seger Flame, a purple jet of poisonous fire.
* DemotedToDragon: In TheMovie.
* MeaningfulName: Its name is a combination of the Egyptian goddesses Sehkmet and Meretseger.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Befitting the two Egyptian goddesses it was named after, Segmeger is meant to look like a snake from the side and a lion from the front.
* PoisonousPerson: Its Seger Flame is a poisonous fire and apart from that, its even in its blood, which the monster can weaponize to disorient Titas when he dismembered its tail.
* PrehensileTail: Uses its tail to constrict Titas in their battle. Titas rips it off, only to receive a gush of poisonous blood to the face.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: So long that Segmeger is tied to Aoi's life force, it can endlessly revive itself whenever she wanted the monster to commence attacking another time.
* ShockAndAwe: The only non-poisonous attack is a ray of lightning charged from its back spikes.

!! Alien Gapiya Abel
[[quoteright:210:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gapiya_abel.png]]
!!! '''Voiced by''': Shunichi Maki
-->'''First Appearance:''' The Flying Saucer is Not Coming
The younger brother of [[Film/UltramanOrbTheMovieLendMeThePowerOfBonds Sadeath]], Abel longed to be as great as him and thus became a hitman to follow his footsteps. Due his long-time grudge for the Ultra Warriors, he was hired by Kirisaki to eliminate Taiga, Titas, and Fuma. However, when Perolynga and Kana witness his arrival, they get added to Abel's personal list.
----
See Characters/UltramanOrb

* ArmCannon: Unlike his brother's automated Gapiya Snake, Abel's version is a railgun that shoots purple harpoons.
* ArtEvolution: Abel is basically a PaletteSwap of Sadeath, with blue color scheme and red eyes.
* BackupTwin: PlayedWith. He sees himself as one and receives an almost similar cybernetic modification to follow his late brother.
* BigBrotherWorship: Idolizes his older brother, which makes his {{Cyborg}} conversion a bit creepier. Amused by his client Tregear being a FallenHero, Abel shook and caresses his hand long enough for the blue Ultra to get his handkerchief and wipe his hand in disgust.
* CantCatchUp: Sadly, Abel is far from being a copy of his older brother. His attempt to imitate his brother's signature punch only sends him yards away before landing safely.
* {{Cyborg}}: Has modified his own body into one
* DealWithTheDevil: Abel sees himself doing a Faustian bargain with Tregear, but its the other way round as the alien is offering his service to the Ultra. This may be a two-fold symbolism, as Tregear allows Abel to kill Ultras out of amusement for his late brother.
* FantasticRacism: He has a large hatred for the Ultras due to their part in Sadeath's demise. When his client, Tregear, was revealed to be an Ultra, Abel hesitated at first until the dark giant proclaims that the "Ultraman" title was only in his past and is referred to as a "demon" in the present day.
* FinishingMove: Fantastic Abelfiction, an inferior copy to his late brother's flying punch attack.
* GratuitousEnglish: Picking up some of this from his late brother.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Is the receiving end of Fuma's Sharp Star Light Wave Shuriken, splitting Abel in vertical half like Sadeath.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: Spends the entire episode hunting a stranded Perolynga and Kana just for witnessing his presence on Earth.
* {{Irony}}: He spends the entire episode idolizing his older brother Sadeath, yet is the receiving end of being killed by an Ultra from O-50, the same kind of Ultra that killed the former.
* ItsPersonal: Aside from carrying out Tregear's wish, he also sees amusement in hunting the Tri-Squad to avenge his older brother.
* MeaningfulName: Named after Abel, the Biblical brother of Cain.
* ProfessionalKiller: He's a hitman with a particular vendetta against Ultramen.
* SwordAndGun: Uses this combo like his older brother.

!! Alien Perolynga
!!! '''Portrayed by''': Hiroyuki Takano
-->'''First Appearance:''' The Flying Saucer is Not Coming
A lone alien had arrived on Earth about 50 years ago and befriended a human. When this friend refused to follow him back into space, he was abandoned on Earth. In the present, he continues to long to leave Earth, but his encounters with Abel and Kana lead him to rethink his life goals
----
See Characters/{{Ultraseven}}

* AdaptationalHeroism: It's implied he's the same Perolynga from ''Series/{{Ultraseven}}'', but is depicted as a much friendlier person without any intentions of world domination. Of course, the original Perolynga was killed by Ultraseven...
* IChooseToStay: After an ArmorPiercingQuestion from Kana that day, Perolynga realizes that he likes Earth after all and decline an invitation from his brother to return, wanting to spend his time on Earth again.
* MythologyGag: His entire appearance is one big homage to his original appearance, with his scenes in the ColdOpening and ending of the episode mimicking those of Saburo, the stargazer from his debut. His human form actor is even the same kid who played the original one's human disguise!
* TheresNoPlaceLikeHome: Spends most of the episode talking about how much he wants to go back to his home planet after 50 years on Earth.

!! Night Fang
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/night_fang.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance:''' To The Demon's Mountain
A demonic entity that terrorized Kuzuryu Village centuries ago, worshiped by the locals out of fear until it was sealed away by a {{miko}} in Akame Mountain. However in the present, it is freed by a pair of aliens using the powers of a psychic idol girl named Ai Tennoji that EGIS had been assigned to protect. The monster was later brought back by Kirisaki alongside Hellberus to fight against Fuma and Titas when Taiga was successfully corrupted by Tregear.
----
* AchillesHeel: [[spoiler:Its body still carries some of the Earth energy used by the miko to seal it away. Awakening that power briefly stuns Night Fang and gives Taiga the Photon Earth power to defeat it.]]
* BackFromTheDead: In episode 16, thanks to Kirisaki using its Kaiju Ring.
* BrownNote: Its main ability is the Fang Wave, a wave of sound released from its hidden eyeball that causes humans to fall into a nightmare-plagued sleep.
* CombatTentacles: Possesses numerous tentacles on its body, but its most formidable set are the whip-like ones on its arms.
* DemotedToDragon: In TheMovie.
* DreamStealer: Feeds on the nightmares of those put to sleep by its Fang Wave.
* EldritchAbomination: Bat wings aside, Night Fang bears a Cthulhu-like face on its torso, several tendrils on its head, and a singular eyeball hidden on its forehead. Director Makoto Kamiya stated that Night Fang is meant to resemble a monster from ''Franchise/CthulhuMythos''.
* {{Expy}}: Given how Ultraman Taiga's series contains several parallels to his father's show, ''Series/UltramanTaro'', Night Fang is the closest they could get to Mururoa, both of them being eldritch-based monsters starting out as [[SealedEvilInACan Sealed Evils in Cans]] serving as their respective series' most powerful mid-season enemies.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Has a pair of them on its chest and even a singular eyeball that shoots waves which caused its target to be trapped in a nightmare-laden sleep.
* GodOfEvil: Worshiped as one by the people of Kuzuryu Village, who sacrificed humans to it so they would be spared of its wrath. They called it Lord Akame.
* GiantFlyer: Its bat-like wings allow it to take to the air.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Night '''Fang'''.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Its BossSubtitles translate as Nightmare Demon Beast, but due to an error on the part of Tsuburaya's website, it became LostInTranslation as Nightmare ''Monster''.
* PlayingWithFire: Shoots fireballs from its forehead.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Possesses a lot of purple in its colour scheme and proves to be a deadly foe for Taiga and Fuma.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: It possesses two baleful red eyes. Its nickname of Lord Akame even means "Lord Red-Eyes".
* SealedEvilInACan: Was imprisoned centuries ago inside a mountain by a shrine maiden, where it remained until Alien Hook and Babalou freed it.
* VillainTeamUp: With Hellberus in episode 16 when the two are resurrected by Kirisaki.

However, the Villain Guild targets Maiko and her bottle to use the creature for their own ends, only to end up unsealing the creature.
----
For its original appearance as Maga-Jappa, see Characters/UltramanOrb

* AdaptationalBadass: While retaining most of Maga-Jappa's attacks, Majappa trade its awful stench for one that is capable of disorienting the opponent with painful effect.
* ContinuityNod: According to WordOfGod, Majappa is the ''original'' version of Maga-Jappa.
* MakingASplash: Majappa is already a water-based monster like its template, but since it lacks the ability to pollute water, Majappa can shoot high pressured stream of water from its snout, which is powerful enough to send an Ultra flying.
* MythologyGag: Like the original Maga-Jappa, Majappa was killed by an Ultraman who is related to Taro.

* BeamOWar: [[spoiler:Meets his end engaging in one with Taiga.]]
* BloodKnight: Odyssa explains that his species is like this, possessing a natural instinct to fight.
* GenderBlenderName: Odyssa is a female given name that is seldom used in United States. Averted with his human name, Oda.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: The 50+ year old Odyssa as Oda with the 22 year old Hiroyuki Kudo.
* MythologyGag: Odyssa is said to have fought "a certain Ultraman" on an alien planet in 50 years prior at the sunset, based on Ultraman Jack's fight and defeat by both Alien Nackle and his Black King on sunset. Ironically, Odyssa's final fight with Taiga took place in the same scenery, which lead to the alien's own death.
* RedBaron: He was known as the Warrior of the Evening Glow prior to his retirement.
* RetiredBadass: He has long forsaken his ways as an invader, but his species' natural fighting instinct wouldn't just sit down and let that happen.

-->'''First Appearance:''' One Afternoon When the Magic Was Lost From the Star
A monster that was summoned by accident by Oshoro's monster-controlling device, which he intended to use on Gimyra. The creature was mistakenly assumed by Maria and EGIS to be responsible for the numerous strange tentacles that had been erupting from the ground to attack people and consume Earth's magic, but soon learned Pagos was actually fleeing the true culprit -- Gimyra.

* TheBusCameBack: Pagos' previous appearance? ''Series/UltraQ'', '''53 years ago'''.
* HornAttack: A new ability to Pagos in this series. It can fire a drill-shaped energy beam from its horns.
* TheJuggernaut: Proved highly resistant to almost all of the Tri-Squad's attacks, thanks to its thick skin, and was also physically strong enough to stand toe on toe with Titas' SuperStrength.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Pagos was a peaceful underground monster driven to the surface by Gimyra's part, where it went berserk only because of its inability to adjust to the surface world. The episode after its death even shows EGIS members paying respect to it.
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: After Pagos dies, construction vehicles and cleanup crews are seen working at disposing of the monster's petrified corpse. WordOfGod admits to have intentionally added this part to add a sense of realism to the aftermath of a kaiju attack.
* TakenForGranite: Turns to stone upon death.
* TookALevelInBadass: The original Pagos never fought any Ultras (since they hadn't been introduced to the franchise yet) and was killed by the power of science. Here, it fought against all '''three''' Tri-Squad members and can even withstand Titas' punches.

-->'''First Appearance:''' The Power to Protect and the Power to Fight
A series of robot monsters created by an alien scientist named Ilt to protect planets from kaiju. However, Tregear tampered with their programming by inserting his personality into them, causing the machines to go berserk and destroy the very planets they were protecting. Ilt managed to get rid of most of them, but the last surviving model was then brought by Kirisaki to Earth, where Ilt came to stop it.

* AchillesHeel: Ultrasonic waves like those produced by the Night Fang Ring nullify its duplication powers, and will even cause any existing clones to remerge into a singular Gigadelos.
* AIIsACrapshoot: The Gigadelos were a series of guardian robots built for different planets until Tregear tampered with their programming to attack the inhabitants and even each other.
* ArmCannon: Its left hand is equipped with a series of small machine guns.

* HumongousMecha: One constructed by an alien scientist to defend various planets, only for everything to go horribly wrong.
* HydraProblem: Its main ability is to split into a pair of clones whenever it is struck by energy attacks (such as the {{Finishing Move}}s of Ultras). These clones can split even further.
* TheJuggernaut: Definitely one of Taiga's strongest opponents yet. Had Taiga not use the Night Fang Ring, Gigadelos would have easily been victorious.

----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Gorothunder has an affinity for Kana, hence his reason of placing her in the gem on his belly button. Considering his looks, it's surely going to be a one-sided crush.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Despite his comedic behaviour and oddball appearance, he's a very powerful fighter and actually manages to put up a serious challenge for the Tri-Squad.
* BloodKnight: He loves to fight for the sake of it.

* FightingClown: Despite his infamous in-universe reputation, Gorothunder is depicted as a more lighthearted creature compared to most of the other kaiju the Tri-Squad fight, with his battle against Taiga having a handful of humorous moments.

* {{Oni}}: While he does have some traits shared with them, he is actually based on the Shinto lightning god Raijin, who creates the sound of thunder by beating his drums, which have Tomoe markings on them (just like Gorothunder's chest). Raijin is also said to steal the uncovered bellybuttons of children who go out during a thunderstorm, hence why the Gorothunder's bellybutton is so prominent.
* PrimalChestPound: Performs this in order to charge up his electrical attacks.
* {{Raiju}}: Another part of it's inspiration, whose motif is based on the Shinto lightning god.
* SizeShifter: Grew into a human-sized being on a cloud to a giant monster by beating his chest.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Most versions of Takkong are either villainous or animalistic, but this Takkong is the guardian of humanity themselves.
* BreathWeapon: Breathes a stream of fire from its mouth.
* FeelingTheirAge: According to Shinji, Takkong was originally powerful enough to even rival Giestron in its younger years. It can still prove as a challenge to its rival in the present day, but its old age made Takkong weaker than how it used to be.
* FunnyOctopus: In its first appearance, where the Tri-Squad mistook it for an enemy, Takkong hardly ever made an effort to defend itself and was being comical, proving itself only as a nuisance to the three with its octopus-based abilities.
* {{Invisibility}}: Can turn invisible in the same way an octopus can camouflage itself.
* InASingleBound: This version of Takkong can leap great distances despite it's size, thanks to using it's tail as a spring.

* RingOfFire: An ability it displays in this series, which creates a circle of fire around itself during its battle against Giestron.
* SpinAttack: By exhaling fire and spinning rapidly, Takkong creates a barrier of fire around it to deflect attacks from Giestron and then ram itself into the enemy.

* CanonImmigrant: Giestron was first used as a stageshow-exclusive suit in Ultraman Festival 2019 before appearing in episode 22 of ''Taiga''.
* GaiasVengeance: Shinji describes Giestron as the rage of Earth itself, saying the creature was angered by human activities and is trying to eliminate humanity in hopes of cleansing the Earth of the damage they've done.
* HornAttack: Replacing Earthtron's traditional magma beam BreathWeapon, Giestron can fire a laser beam from its horn that is able to cut through structures with ease.
* MagmaMan: Gistron can channel electromagnetic energy in order to cause volcanic eruptions.
* MythologyGag: It's an updated version of Earthtron appearing alongside Takkong, referencing how the two kaiju debuted together in the first episode of ''Series/ReturnOfUltraman''.
* SpikesOfVillainy: The audiences can tell between Takkong and Giestron, which kaiju is the villain and which is the benevolent defender of Earth. See all those spikes on Giestron?
* SwordBeam: Can fire a purplish variant that spins in akin to a boomerang.

!! Alien Godola, Alien Sran, and Alien Zarab

-->'''First Appearance:''' Clash! Ultra Big Match
A bungling trio of alien criminals fed up with the constant interference that Ultraman Tregear and the Tri-Squad had done for various evil aliens' schemes. The Alien Chibu known as Mabuze all too eager to help the three get rid of the four Ultras, offering his services in the form of a mindless clone of Ultraman Belial he created specifically to destroy the Tri-Squad and Tregear.
----
See Characters/UltraSeven for Alien Godola, Characters/UltramanMax for Alien Sran, and Characters/UltramanTVSeries for Alien Zarab

* ForgotAboutHisPowers: Subverted. Zarab proposes the plan of disguising himself as Ultraman Taiga to ruin his reputation, just like how his previous generations did before, but his other teammates are against the idea, since Tregear will also appear to kick his butt.

!! Imit-Ultraman Belial
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/_282.jpg]]

-->'''First Appearance:''' Clash! Ultra Big Match
A mindless clone of [[Franchise/UltramanZero Ultraman Belial]] created by Mabuze from evil Ultra's DNA. The evil alien lent the monster to the trio of Godola, Sran, and Zarab to help them defeat the Tri-Squad and Tregear. Lacking the original Belial's intelligence and retaining all of his strength, the Tri-Squad and Tregear were challenged by this monster until Franchise/UltramanZero showed up to even the odds.
----
For tropes that also apply to the original Ultraman Belial, see the Characters/UltramanZero Character Sheet.

* ArtificialHuman: It's a mindless clone of Ultraman Belial. The only physical difference between the clone and the original Belial is that the clone's crest and claws are gold instead of black.
* DumbMuscle: He evidently only has Belial's strength and lust for battle, but lacks his calculating and scheming mind.
* EnemyMine: It didn't last long, but Imit-Belial and Tregear were more than willing to stand side-by-side to fight both Zero and Taiga, to the point of trading opponents.
* FakeShemp: He only laughs and grunts in his appearances, due to the fact that he is a mindless clone to begin with. Because of this, said grunts and laughs were recycled from past appearances of the original Belial, particularly that of Creator/YukiOno's stock voices.
* HumanShield: [[spoiler:Is killed when he is forcibly used as a shield by Tregear in order to protect himself from Taiga Tri-Strium's Taiga Dynamite Shoot.]]
* MythologyGag: Its gold and/or yellow bits on the fingers and head crest are based on the defects of Alien Zarab's disguises as Imitation Ultraman from the original series, all while an Alien Zarab happens to appear in the same episode as Imit-Belial.
* ShockAndAwe: Shoots lightning bolts from his claws as part of his first attack after scanning his surroundings upon creation.
* UltimateShowdownOfUltimateDestiny: A battle of Ultras between a pair of SpinOffspring children of Ultra Brothers' members (Taiga and Zero), versus FallenHero duo (Belial and Tregear). The result is very spectacular as it takes almost half of the show's screen time. It's even lampshaded in the episode title.

!! Woola
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/woola.png]]

-->'''First Appearance:''' I'm Pirika
A monster born from the space trash of countless advanced alien civilizations, Woola is a creature of insatiable hunger that travels from planet to planet consuming everything in its path. Tregear called the creature to Earth (with a little unwilling help from Pirika and Alien Ghose) for one last grand scheme of chaos-raising, subsequently reawakening a long-lost directive of Pirika she had been holding in secret from the rest of EGIS.
----
* BigEater: The creature is so ravenous that it consumes entire planets and everything on their surface in an attempt to slake its endless hunger.
* BlackHoleBelly: A non-attack variation. Inside its stomach is a miniature UnrealisticBlackHole that absorbs anything Woola eats, making the monster constantly hungry.
* CameFromTheSky: Lands on Earth in the form of a giant meteor.
* EldritchAbomination: An even worse take of [[Series/UltramanDyna Yumenokatamari]], Woola is a living heap of space trash formed in the likeness of a monster whose lot in life is to eat anything in its path due to being cursed to never have its hunger satiated.
* EnergyAbsorption: It manages to eat Taiga Tri-Strium's Tri Strium Burst before biting Taiga's arm to absorb his energy.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Will consume literally anything from buildings to energy attacks to other kaiju to entire planets.
* ICannotSelfTerminate: [[spoiler:Woola's constant hunger was its own curse, and it sought to find someone that could free it from its own existence.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: Woola was born as a result of alien civilizations dumping their trash into outer space. As a fitting end, the first planet that Woola ate was the very one responsible for its birth.
* MeaningfulName: Woola's name comes from the Chinese phrase for "I am hungry" (我饿了, ''Wǒ è le''), which lends credence to the monster's never-ending gluttony.
* MercyKill: [[spoiler:Being fed with Taiga and Tregear's energy beam allowed Woola to finally dissipate into energy and free itself from its own existence.]]
* NonMaliciousMonster: Despite being a notorious PlanetEater, [[spoiler:Woola's status is actually more like a curse to itself than anything else and it ultimately seeks to be freed from the suffering of its never-ending starvation. When EGIS managed to temporarily neutralize the black hole in its belly, Wool supported Taiga by attempting to ''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu bite Tregear]]''.]]
* NumberOfTheBeast: The countdown to Woola's arrival on Earth starts at 666.
* PlanetEater: Woola first eats the crust of a planet (and everything on said crust) before burrowing itself underground and eating the planet's core, destroying the planet.
* TunnelKing: Woola largely gets around by burrowing, consuming everything above it.
* UnrealisticBlackHole: Contains one inside of its stomach, hence its unending appetite.
* TheWorfEffect: The first thing it does when it shows up is eat Galactron MK 2 while Taiga is in the middle of fighting the infamously powerful robot monster.

See Characters/UltraQ

* TheBully: Peguila seems to have no ulterior motive to hunt Ragon, other than simply picking on the harmless creature.

!! Red King and Red King II
A pair of monsters sent by [[spoiler:Ultraman Tregear]] to cover his escape and fight against Ribut. This is the first time since 52 years that the second generation of Red King appear in the TV series.
----
See Characters/UltramanTVSeries

* CoDragons: They serve as Tregear's servant in covering his escape.
* MythologyGag: Both Red Kings were killed by Ribut's Remote Cutter circular saws. The Red King II can be seen sliced in the same way the original Ultraman did to him in episode 25 of his original series.
