[[folder:As a whole]]
* AerithAndBob: Three of them have modern names (Brandon, Timmy, Roy), while the rest have names that are unusual (Sky, Riven, Helia, Nabu, Nex).
* BadassNormal: Subverted by most of the specialists, whose lack of magic abilities makes them very inferior to the fairies in a fight. See also Faux Action Guy below. Played straight by them in the comics, movies, and season 6.
* CostumeEvolution: The Red Fountain uniform the Specialists wear, is replaced with a bulkier uniform from Linphea College in Season 6.
* DistressedDude: The specialists aren't weak, but their strength has remained stagnant in comparison to their girlfriends, who regularly get power ups every season resulting in a power gap between them. This leads to them being overpowered and subdued by an antagonist seemingly every season and they must be rescued by their girlfriends as a result.
* FauxActionGuy: ZigZagged. It's not uncommon to see them easily get beaten by the main villains or monsters even though they go to a military academy. However, they usually can hold their own against {{Mooks}} and can occasionally even take on the Trix or the Wizards of the Black Circle. This seems to be completely inverted as of season 6.
* FatalFlaw: Impotence. Lacking the adequate strength and power in the series necessary to overcome the myriad adversaries and foes against them has left them helpless before the enemies and are [[TheLoad largely dependent on the Winx to save them.]]
* FemaleGaze: Very obvious due to their muscular bodies. Season 2 and 3 provides us with some excellent images of them being shirtless.
* {{Hoverboard}}: The Specialists use these to fly around when they need to.
* {{Hunk}}: One of the defining characteristics of the Specialists. Sky, Brandon, and Riven are the most prime examples.
* MrFanservice: Another defining characteristic. Most likely to provide eye candy for the target audience.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Sky, Brandon and Riven are the [[{{Hunk}} well muscled manly men]], they are rough and aggressive, performing more physical forms of combat, are physically stronger, and involved in more general physical activity while [[LovableNerd Timmy]] and [[PrettyBoy Helia]] are slender, quieter, less confrontational sensitive guys in [[InTouchWithHisFeminineSide touch with their feminine side]].
** Sky and Brandon show more positive forms of traditional masculinity. Sky is the quintessential hero — [[AllLovingHero brave, kind, selfless, charismatic, strong and a natural leader.]] [[TheCharmer Brandon]] is a fun-loving, caring, kind, very gentle, calm and collected ladies man. Both are athletic, assertive, charismatic leaders who can inspire others to follow them. They share many similar traits and values so they naturally [[HeterosexualLifePartners are best friends]]. Riven embodies something closer to toxic masculinity. He has an aptitude for sports and physical combat, [[HotBlooded additonally is very competitive, prone to jealousy and aggression.]] He also puts up a cold front having trouble expressing his emotions and comes across as more of a muscular tough guy.
** Timmy and Helia contrast with the [[MenAreTough masculine types on the show like Brandon and Riven]] and exhibit [[InTouchWithHisFeminineSide more effeminate qualities]]. Helia and Timmy are the most mature of the specialists and act as the voice of reason but [[NonActionGuy have the least combat skill, don’t use melee weapons like the other guys and lack interest in physical activities]], instead serving as [[SupportPartyMember support for the team]]. Helia is an androgynous looking pacifist who the specialists were unimpressed by and thought was weak on first impression. He’s an art student who doesn’t fight [[MinoredInAssKicking but his techniques are used for submission or incapacitation]] rather than doing any damage and [[TheSneakyGuy he is skilled in espionage]]. He loves writing poems, drawing, romance, is calm, does not have a temper and is very encouraging. Timmy like Helia is shy, nonaggressive, not interested in sports, is very kind and gentle. [[HeterosexualLifePartners They are best friends since they relate with each other best.]]
* UselessBoyfriend: ZigZagged. It's not uncommon to see them easily get beaten by the main villains or monsters even though they go to a military academy. However, they usually can hold their own against Mooks or even main villains occasionally. They are also useful when it comes to flying the ships.
** Averted in the first movie when a powered Mandragora almost kills Bloom near the end, [[spoiler: until she gets taken by surprise by Sky who [[FamilyUnfriendlyDeath runs her through the back with Oritel's sword,]] stopping her and giving Bloom a chance to finish her off for good. Mandragora made the mistake of thinking him dead for removing the sword since only a "crownless king" could remove it, but it turned out Sky had already fulfilled those prerequisites]].
** Averted again in the second movie where the girls and everyone else on Magix [[BroughtDownToNormal lose their powers]] thanks to the Trix and Ancestral Witches. The Specialists had to help train the Winx in how to properly defend themselves while powerless. While Aisha adapted easily, the others didn't. Stella in particular had proven to be pretty helpless without her magic as she couldn't even climb up a mast a single foot.
** Completely averted as of season 6 as they now acquire upgraded elemental weaponry capable of dishing out magical attacks. They also had to come to the girls' rescue when they, sans Bloom, had been BroughtDownToNormal, while miles up in the sky.
* WeakButSkilled: The specialists are weaker than their female counterparts however they are skilled in the use of their respective weapons enough to hold their own against most mooks.
* WouldHitAGirl: They are smart enough to not recognize genders in a fight as they showed no hesitation in attacking the Trix, especially when their girlfriends are being threatened.
** Played straight by Riven in the 1st movie when [[spoiler: he punches Mandragora in the face for mind-controlling him and causing him to accidentally stab Musa]].
** Played straight by Sky in the 1st movie when [[spoiler: he stabs Mandragora through the back to stop her from strangling Bloom to death]].
** In the third movie, Sky bashes Stormy in the face with a tree branch, and then slammed Darcy into the ground.

[[folder:Prince Sky]]
[[quoteright:318:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skynick.png]]
->Voiced by: Creator/AlessandroQuarta (Italian), Creator/MattShively (Atlas Oceanic), Creator/DanielBrochu, John Penate (Movie 1's trailer) (Cinélume), Creator/MarcoVivio (Movies), Creator/DanGreen (4Kids), Billy Bob Thompson ([=DuArt=]), Rais David Báscones (Spanish, Seasons 1-3 and movies), Juan Navarro (Spanish, Seasons 4 onwards) José Posada (Spanish, Winx Club 3D movie)

Prince/King Sky is one of the Specialists of Red Fountain, school for warriors.

For the first several episodes, Prince Sky poses as Brandon, in order to avoid attempts on his life by assassins sent by enemies of Eraklyon, during which time Bloom falls in love with him, and he falls in love with Bloom. Despite being royalty, Sky doesn't seem very happy about it until he met Bloom.
[[hardline]]
----
* AmnesiacLover: [[spoiler: In season 5, Sky takes a hit for Bloom from Icy, injuring him and causing him to fall from a great height. He's miraculously alive from the fall, but now he doesn't know who Bloom is or how to use a sword. Bloom tries to jog his memories, but her attempts are useless, which leave him annoyed and frustrated. More time later, he regains his memories when Flora gives him the Pendant of Eraklyon, a present for Bloom that he had lost in the first episodes of the season.]]
* ArrangedMarriage: In Season 1, he was engaged to Diaspro, a noblewoman and princess of Eraklyon.
* BackStab: How he [[spoiler: helped kill Mandragora in the first movie]].
* BadassNormal: Shown prominently in the movies, or when something dear is on the line like in Season 5.
* BattleBoomerang: Sky sometimes uses these as a subweapon.
* CarFu: Sky once SLAMMED into Icy midair while riding his wind-rider.
* CoolSword: His first phantoblade. Upgaded in Season 6 where he gets a better elemental sword capable of doing [[SwordBeam sword beams]].
* CrazyJealousGuy:
** In Season 2, he displayed annoyance over how Bloom kept gushing on about Professor Avalon. Sky became jealous that Avalon was receiving so much attention from her and was becoming all that she would talk about when they were together.
** In Season 4, after seeing Bloom kiss her ex-boyfriend Andy out of thanks, Sky assumes that Bloom still has really strong feelings for him and gets jealous.
* {{Determinator}}: In the season 2 finale, Sky walks up and tries to [[IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight get Dark Bloom to come back to her senses]] while she was [[BrainwashedAndCrazy under Darkar's control]]. He did all this while he and the others were held in place by an intense gravity spell, and despite the sheer weight, Sky managed to reach Bloom.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Goes through two of them. One in Season 4, and another in Season 5.
* GiveMeASword: When [[spoiler: Icy turns Oritel and Marion into living ice sculptures to force Daphne to reveal the secret of Sirenix to Tritannus, she and the other Trix decide to shatter them anyway. Sky quickly armed himself with the dropped Sword of Domino and destroyed their combined attack spell before it could hit the defenseless couple]].
* TheGoodKing: Becomes this after the 1st movie, though he's back to being crown prince in season 5.
* GreaterNeedThanMine: Sky refused to abandon his fellow Specialists to save himself when they were under siege by the Army of Darkness after Diaspro tried to pull him out of there. Diaspro tells Sky to forget about them since they are "just expendable peasants", which only angered him and he basically threw her rescue attempt back in her face.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: He's got blond hair and is very kind and noble.
* HeroesPreferSwords: He defaults to a sword as his primary weapon. He later gets his hands on a super magical sword.
* IdiotBall: All of the drama between him, Bloom and Diaspro could've been averted had he just been honest and broken up with her before she came to visit him in season 1.
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: Delivers an epic one to the BrainwashedAndCrazy Bloom in the second season.
* LonelyRichKid: As prince of Eraklyon, it's implied that he didn't have many friends while growing up, and he was constantly under the threat of kidnapping by others who wanted the throne.
* NoManOfWomanBorn: In the 1st movie, according to the Ancestral Witches' curse, [[spoiler: only a crownless king can remove the Sword of Domino without dying in the process. Unknown to them and even Bloom, Sky had already long since fulfilled those requirements as he was actually coronated as a king, allowing him to pull it out and stab Mandragora]].
* OfficialCouple: With Bloom.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: In the first movie, Sky was the only one who was able to safely remove the Sword of Domino since a curse placed by the Ancestral Witches would kill anyone else who tries.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: He's a good swordsman, and prefers to stay at Red Fountain and fight when it's under attack rather than leaving.
* SwordBeam: Sky's new sword from season 6 and up can now do this.
* TakingTheBullet: Sky took a shot from Icy meant for Bloom in season 5, where he [[spoiler:became amnesiac soon after]]. Gets better later.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His hiding of his true identity and of his engagement to Princess Disapro ends up causing the climax of Season 1, as it results in Bloom humiliating herself in front of Magix and her running away to Earth with her confidence completely shattered, leaving her alone and vulnerable to the Trix’s surprise attack.
* WarriorPrince: He's the prince of Eraklyon, but that doesn't stop him from going straight into battle when the day needs saving.

[[folder:Brandon]]
[[quoteright:319:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brandonrf.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/MassimilianoAlto (Italian), Greg Abbey (4Kids), Mark Hauser (Cinélume), Adam Gregory (Atlas Oceanic), Jake Paque ([=DuArt=]), Creator/JoseMariaCarrero (Spanish, series and movies), Ángel de Gracia (Spanish, Winx Club 3D movie)

Brandon is one of the Specialists of Red Fountain, school for warriors.

For the first several episodes, Brandon poses as Prince Sky, under orders by the King and Queen of Eraklyon to protect Sky from possible attempts on his life by enemies of the kingdom. Stella fell in love with him, thinking he was a prince, and was very upset when she found out he was just the squire. Likely, while Stella was certainly upset that he was not a prince, she was more upset that she was lied to. She has forgiven him since, though, and the two now seem very much in love.
----
* ActOfTrueLove: He declares his love for Stella even if [[spoiler:she remains cursed as a monster forever in Season 3. This assurance of love helps her break the spell.]]
* ArrangedMarriage: Early on Season 2, Brandon and Stella landed on the Underealm, ruled by Princess Amentia, who developed a crush on Brandon and forced him to marry her. Fortunately, she made up her mind in the last moment thanks to Amore's (Stella's bonded pixie) intervention.
* BadassNormal: He's one of the strongest Specialists in a fight.
* BattleButler: Brandon is technically this as he is Sky's squire.
* BetaCouple: With Stella.
* BlowYouAway: Brandon's light staff from season 6 and up.
* {{BFS}}: His main sword is much larger than the swords the other Specialists use.
* {{Brainwashed}}: In a comic story, Shilly, a Cloudtower witch, develops a crush on him. She then drugs Brandon with a love potion to have him love her. He gets better when Shilly eventually drugs him an antidote because she believes Brandon loves her naturally and not by the love potion's effects (which was far from the case as he tries to patch things up with Stella from what happened).
* TheCharmer: Brandon flirts with any girl (fairy, witch, or human) he comes across, but his heart will always be with Stella.
* ChickMagnet: Was this since his pre-teen years.
* ChivalrousPervert: Brandon may love the ladies, but he's still a gentleman.
* DoubleWeapon: He sometimes uses a sword with a blade on each end.
* FateWorseThanDeath: Brandon views his near marriage to Amentia as this, emphasized when he was being escorted down the isle, his life flashed before his eyes.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Brandon's own charm with the ladies had worked against him at points. Biggest examples are getting himself nearly married against his will to Amentia, then later having [[StalkerWithACrush Mitzi]] stalk him.
* ALadyOnEachArm: Revealed he was quite the player even in his pre-teen years.
* TheLancer: He's Sky's best friend and always gives him support.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: In season 6, Brandon gives this to [[spoiler: Stella of all people when she was given position of Queen of Solaria for a day, saying she was letting all her newfound authority go to her head and acting like a brat. What's worse, it was on the day of their anniversary]].
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: The calm and collected Savvy Guy to Stella's bubbly Energetic Girl.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: In-universe he's considered the most handsome Specialist.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Riven]]
[[quoteright:252:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rivenrf_2.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Mirko Mazzanti (Italian), Emiliano Coltori (Italian Movies), Mitchell Rothpan (Cinélume), Creator/MichaelSinterniklaas (4Kids), Creator/SamRiegel (Atlas Oceanic), Jesse Manocherian ([=DuArt=], Season 8 onwards) Creator/JaimeRoca (Spanish)

Riven is one of the Specialists of Red Fountain, school for warriors.

Riven does not get along easily with the other Specialists, preferring to do things his own way, and not appreciative of any help he may get. When dating Darcy, he's even more upset with everyone else than usual, and a real danger to the Winx girls and the other Specialists.

Musa has a crush on him, but he's very awkward around her, obviously having no clue how he's supposed to treat a girl.
----
* AdaptationalHeroism: 4Kids dub only, due to DubPersonalityChange.
* TheAtoner: His arc in season 2 is making up for his FaceHeelTurn in season 1.
* BadassNormal: He's one of the more effective Specialists in magical battles.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Musa. She's crushing on him early in season 1, but he doesn't reciprocate and instead dates Darcy. During season 2 they start to get closer, especially at the Red Fountain Concert and in the Wildlands. Riven eventually gains feelings for Musa, and they start dating at the end of season 2, and [[spoiler: Riven is seriously injured by Dark Bloom ''specifically'' because he went TakingTheBullet for her.]] They have a lot of arguments however and broke up once when Riven thought Musa was getting too close to Jason Queen. Riven regrets breaking up and manages to win her back over, but their relationship remained unstable, and they broke up in season 6 -- only to get back together ''yet again'' in season 8.
* BetaCouple: With Musa. No matter how many times they break up, they always get back together in the end.
* TheBigGuy: He's ferocious in combat and tends to use trickier weapons.
* {{Brainwashed}}: His FaceHeelTurn in season 1 of the 4Kids dub is [[AdaptationalHeroism due to this.]]
* BreakTheHaughty: When the Trix reveal they were just manipulating him and imprison him in Cloudtower, he's forced to take a long, hard look at himself and his actions. He comes out of it a better person at least before his {{Flanderization}}.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He can get jealous easily. An occasion in Season 3 has him attack Nabu after he saw a photo of Musa apparently kissing Nabu (in reality, the perspective was off). In season 4, his jealousy toward Jason Queen (a music producer who discovers Musa and her singing ability and offers to make her successful) at the recording studio insulted Musa, causing her to break up with him. [[StatusQuoIsGod It didn't last.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: He doesn't hesitate to mock whatever he finds stupid and frequently notices holes in plans.
* DualWielding: Sometimes he wields his smaller sword and a small mace at the same time.
* DubPersonalityChange: The 4Kids dub has Riven's FaceHeelTurn be a product of brainwashing, while it is genuine in every other continuity.
* FaceHeelTurn:
** In season 1, he grows frustrated with the Winx and his fellow Specialists, and eventually abandons his group, starts dating Darcy, and feeds the Trix information about Bloom. In the 4Kids Dub, [[DubPersonalityChange he's brainwashed.]]
** Has another in the first movie, but this time it really ''is'' [[MindControl brainwashing]].
* FreudianExcuse: His mother abandoned him at birth. It is the reason why he was a HeManWomanHater at first, at least [[AllThereInTheManual according to supplementary materials]].
* HeelFaceTurn: After his BreakTheHaughty moment, he joins back up with the good guys and tries to make amends for his mistakes.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's a rather nasty piece of work.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He ''does'' have a heart, it's just buried deep down. This comes out mostly around Musa, and before he TookALevelInJerkass.
* PrinceCharmingWannabe: During the Day of the Rose he was this towards Bloom.
* PutOnABus: Near the end of season 6, he decides [[spoiler:to leave the Winx and the Specialists to go on a quest to find himself.]]
* ShoutOut: Resembles Jin Kazama from Tekken.
* TheBusCameBack: He returns in season 8.
* TheRival: To Sky.
* ShipTease: Even though it's obvious that he's with Musa, he would flirt with Bloom from time to time (probably more to piss off Sky).
* TallDarkAndSnarky: He's arrogant, but he's also good at what he does.
* TokenEvilTeammate: In season 1, where he was TheMole for the Trix. This is dropped after he and Darcy break up.
* TookALevelInJerkass: While he never goes full on evil like in season 1, Riven becomes a ''lot'' nastier in as the show goes on, at least until he is PutOnABus in season 6. This is ultimately one of the main reasons he and Musa break up. Riven realizes that if he doesn't get his act together, he's going to end up back in the same position he was in during season 1.
* TookALevelInKindness: After returning in season 8, he's a lot nicer, having gotten his act together. Thanks to this, he and Musa start dating again -- [[RelationshipRevolvingDoor for the upteenth time]].
* TroubledButCute: He's rude and doesn't interact well with others. Musa has a crush on him anyway.
* UngratefulBastard: In season 1 where he falls into and almost sinks in the swamp. Tecna quickly pulls him out, and he just walks past her, not even bothering to thank her.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Timmy]]
[[quoteright:318:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/timmynick.png]]
->Voiced by: Creator/CorradoConforti (Italian), Creator/DavidePerino (Italian Movies), Creator/MichaelYarmush (Cinélume), Sebastian Arcelus (4Kids), Creator/CharlieSchlatter (Atlas Oceanic), Creator/WayneGrayson (Season 7 onwards), Creator/PepeCarabias (Spanish, series and movies), Juan Antonio Soler (Spanish, Winx Club 3D movie)

Timmy is one of the Specialists of Red Fountain, school for warriors. Timmy is the smartest of the Specialists, and the team's strategist. He also has a crush on Tecna.
----
* BetaCouple: With Tecna. They are pretty much the most stable couple in the show, though that may be because Tecna tends to be OutOfFocus most of the time.
* CrashIntoHello: In the comic, this was how he first met Tecna. More of a SuggestiveCollision since Timmy bumped face-first into Tecna's butt when he was trying to pick up a battery he dropped.
* FantasticFirearms: His SciFi-looking blaster fires guided, HardLight orbs. It's never explained what exactly powers it but given that most of the setting's technology is {{Magitek}}, chances are it's probably the round gem heaped on top of it since it's the same color as the blasts. Timmy's weapon also doesn't seem to need recharging.
* GadgeteerGenius: He manages the Specialists' ship and other gadgets and works with Tecna to build various devices.
* TheGunslinger: Unlike the others who uses swords and other melee weapons, Timmy prefers guns.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: He once offended Tecna by only talking to her about technology, but he was under the belief that Tecna was only interested in tech. When she gets annoyed at him over this and explains there's more to her personality, he promises to do better in the future.
* LovableNerd: He's sweet, especially towards Tecna, but he's pretty awkward when it comes to romance.
* NerdsAreSexy: Tecna thinks he looks good.
* OnlySaneMan: He was the only one who didn't believe Tecna was gone for good after she gets pulled into the Omega Dimension while closing the portal. He also advised that Sky just tell Bloom the truth about his identity, which would have saved both of them a great deal of headaches.
* PairTheSmartOnes: With Tecna.
* SecretKeeper: It's not brought up much, but apparently he knew the truth about Brandon and Sky's switch while no one else (not even Riven) did, as he was advising Sky on how to deal with Bloom and Diaspro.
* TheSmartGuy: He's the tech expert and strategist of the Specialists. While the others usually use swords or other melee, he prefers to use a gun.
* SmartPeopleShoot: The Specialists are a team of warriors who employ {{Magitek}} weapons, and they all possess sword-like Phantoblades. However, Timmy (the strategist and technician of his team) rarely uses his Phantoblade, and instead opts for [[EnergyWeapon blasters]], crossbows, and [[EnergyBow energy bows]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Helia]]
[[quoteright:318:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helia_s2_3.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/FrancescoPezzulli (Italian, Season 2-3), Creator/LeonardoGraziano (Italian, Season 4+), Martin Watier (Cinélume), Creator/MarcDiraison (4Kids), Michael Liscio Jr. ([=DuArt=], Season 7 onwards) Creator/DavidFaustino (Atlas Oceanic), Emilio García (Spanish)

Helia is Saladin's grandson or nephew, depending on the version. He is an art student. He's also a pacifist, and does not believe in fighting. He likes Flora and has put aside his pacifist ways to save her. He's not willing to do so for anyone else, though.
----
* ArmCannon: Upgrades to a wrist laser in Season 6, and he's a proficient shot.
* BetaCouple: With Flora.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: He trades his side ponytail for sidetails in Season 4.
* HandBlast: Helia's new weapon from season 6 and up. He's also a real crackshot as well.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: He managed to shoot [[spoiler: a bottle of poison out of Bloom's hand when she was about to give it to Flora, not knowing what it really was]].
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Of course
* MartialPacifist: Supposedly he's a pacifist, but he seems to have dropped that by the time he joined Red Fountain. His primary weapon, his laser string glove, is more used for restraining than outright attacking however.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The Feminine Boy to Aisha’s Masculine Girl
* OutOfCharacterMoment: In season 6, after getting rescued by Flora from Icy, Helia was acting rather coldly to everyone, even intimidating Riven. It was later revealed that his heart had been frozen because of Icy. He gets better.
* PrettyBoy: He's very pretty.
* SixthRanger: He appears and joins the Specialists in season 2.
* StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: At one point, Helia managed to reel in an entire Red Fountain SHIP using only his light cable gauntlets.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He's generally considered one of the more handsome characters.
* WarriorPoet: Sorta. He's a warrior who enjoys writing poems.
* WhatTheHellHero: The Winx are understandably annoyed when he lets go of his restraints on the monster that attacked Red Fountain during festivities in one episode due to his pacifistic ways. Granted, this was all the way back in season 2, before he even considered transferring to Red Fountain and restrained the monster in the first place because Flora was in danger.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nabu]]
[[quoteright:318:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nabu.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Sasha De Toni (Italian), Todd Fenell (Cinélume), Matt Charles (4Kids), Will Blagrove (Atlas Oceanic), Alfredo Martínez (Spanish)

Nabu is a wizard from Andros, and Aisha's arranged fiancé. Although at first he refused to marry Aisha, he quickly fell in love with her after even talk to her.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He can pass off as Asian [[note]] South Asian or West Asian [[/note]] or Black. His name Nabu is from West Asia and is specifically from a Mesopotamian/Iraqi deity.
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:He appears in the second movie, which is supposedly set after the fourth season. Nabu also appeared twice during episode 26, but these probably were animation errors.]]
* BetaCouple: With Aisha. [[spoiler:At least until he dies in season 4, after he proposes to her.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He got pissed off only once by Duman, of the Black Circle Wizards. Nabu ''disintegrated'' him, and then proceeded to kick the asses of the remaining Black Circle Wizards and foil their plan. ''All in less than ten minutes.'' Doubles as [[spoiler: DyingMomentOfAwesome, as the effort to do all of that so fast literally killed him.]]
* BlackMage: Literally.
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: [[spoiler: He's the first heroic main character to die.]]
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: He managed to close the portal the Wizards of the Black Circle opened on Tir Nan Og, but the effort cost him his life.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: He sacrificed himself to stop the Wizards of the Black Circle and save the Earth fairies.]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: The first heroic character to be killed. Despite his appearance in ''[[NonSerialMovie Magical Adventure]]'', he's still dead in the rest of the series.]]
* TheLostLenore: [[spoiler: For Aisha, oh so much.]]
* KungFuWizard: While he mostly focuses on his magic, he does supplement it with martial arts.
* MagicStaff: His staff helps him focus his power.
* NonIndicativeName: As a group, the guys are referred to as Specialists for quick reference (even on this page), since most of them are. However, Nabu was a wizard and never studied at Red Fountain. Nevertheless, there was even an official wallpaper that labeled him a Specialist along with the other guys.
* PerfectlyArrangedMarriage: He objects to being put into an ArrangedMarriage with a girl he's never met, so he runs off to meet Aisha under the guise of Ophir. The two eventually fall in love, though the parents call off the wedding anyway.
* SixthRanger: He appears and joins the Specialists in season 3.
* StalkerWithACrush: He stalked Aisha for much of season 3 to get to know the girl he is supposed to marry.
* TokenMinority: Like Aisha among her clique, Nabu is the only dark skinned guy.
* WalkingSpoiler: Inevitable, since he;s the first heroic character to [[spoiler: permanently die.]]

Roy is a Specialist from Andros and an assistant to Aisha's father. He is introduced in season 5. At first, he serves as a yacht driver for the Winx (until they learn how to drive it themselves), but afterwards he sticks around and helps the group while courting Aisha, who he has a crush on. By the end of season 5, she seems to reciprocate his feelings. [[spoiler: But [[RomanticRunnerUp it doesn't work out for him in the end]], because next season she falls in love with [[TheRival Nex]].]]
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Roy could be interpretted to be Asian [[note]] South Asia or West Asian [[/note]] or Black. His name Roy originates from both India and France.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: [[spoiler: Nex ends up with Aisha.]]
* FlatCharacter: Does very little during his screen time.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Like the other blond Specialist Sky, he's a generally pleasant and noble guy, and that's [[FlatCharacter all there is to him]].
* PutOnABus: After the LoveTriangle is concluded, since [[spoiler: Nex ends up with Aisha.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: With Nex, who's wilder and more confident. Coincidentally, Roy's Specialist uniform is blue, and Nex's Paladin uniform is red.
* ReplacementGoldfish: He's Aisha's second love interest. Like Nabu, he has dark skin and bluish eyes, he comes from Andros, and he can use magic (though it's not stated if he's a wizard).
* RomanticRunnerUp: [[spoiler: He's a nice guy who genuinely cared about Aisha, but in the end, she chose Nex.]]
* TokenMinority: Like Nabu, he was the only dark skinned guy among the boys at the time.

[[folder:Nex]]
[[quoteright:275:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nex.png]]
->Voiced by: Daniele Raffaeli and Marco Bassetti (Italian), Adam Gregory (Atlas Oceanic), Marc Thompson ([=DuArt=])

Nex is a Paladin (similar to a Specialist) and friends with Sky's cousin Thoren. He's introduced in the third episode of season 6 as a rival to Roy for Aisha. Like her, he's competitive and loves sports. Halfway through the season, he and Aisha start to bond with each other. [[spoiler: Nex ultimately wins the LoveTriangle.]]
----
* BetaCouple: [[spoiler: With Aisha, as of season seven.]]
* BlowYouAway: His original weapon created wind gusts and tornadoes.
* DualWielding: In season eight, he wields a pair of short swords.
* HairColorDissonance: His hair is light navy blue, but WordOfGod states he has dark hair ([[PurpleIsTheNewBlack possibly black]]).
* HotbloodedSideburns: Not as wild as some characters’ sideburns, but they’re noticeable.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's sometimes reckless, arrogant, and insensitive. He also likes teasing people just to get on their nerves. But generally, he's a friendly, brave, and helpful guy, and he genuinely cares about his friends ([[spoiler:and Aisha]]) and is willing to risk his life for them. [[TookALevelInKindness His jerkishness was toned down]] after [[spoiler: he won the LoveTriangle]].
* LoveRedeems: See TookALevelInKindness.
* NonIndicativeName: Like Nabu, he is sometimes lumped in with the Specialists for quick reference. However, Nex is actually a Paladin [[spoiler: until season eight]].
* RedIsHeroic: Nex’s Paladin uniform. In season eight [[spoiler: when he joined the Specialists]], he kept red as his main color.
* RedOniBlueOni: With Roy, who's quieter and more cultured. Coincidentally, Nex's Paladin uniform is red, and Roy's Specialist uniform is blue.
* TheRival: To Roy for Aisha's attention. [[spoiler: Nex wins.]]
* RomanticFalseLead: [[spoiler: Subverted. He appeared to be one in season six, since he was the second guy introduced in the LoveTriangle and made [[RomanticRunnerUp Roy]] jealous. Aisha didn't like Nex at first, and the writers seemed to hint that Roy and Aisha were the OfficialCouple. However, the tables turned midway through the season. Aisha and Nex started to grow closer and ended up falling in love. [[PutOnABus Roy disappeared afterwards.]]]]
* SecondLove: [[spoiler: To Aisha after she lost Nabu.]]
* SixthRanger: He was introduced in season six. Even though the Specialists treated him like part of the squad, he remained a Paladin [[spoiler: until season eight when he officially joined them]].
* SwordAndSorcerer: With Aisha, especially in season eight. [[spoiler: All the Winx/Specialist couples fall under this trope, but it’s emphasized with this couple. Aisha even calls herself and Nex a power couple.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: After the LoveTriangle ends, since [[spoiler: he ends up with Aisha.]]
* WeaponTwirling: Lots of it with his original weapon. Most of the time, he had to [[SpectacularSpinning spin]] it for it to do any real damage.
