!!Ayano Hakamoto
!!! Player: Starii
!!! Arcanum: VIII - The Upright Justice

A first year girl at Mishima's High School branch who is incredibly fascinated by the Franchise/CthulhuMythos. An aspiring author, she despises lies she is insistent on confronting liars with the truth. Though she was once a bully and the child of a wealthy TV host, she has transformed dramatically since her father's scandal and accidentally causing another girl a nervous breakdown... though she still has some troubles working with others and making close connections with them.

Ayano's Persona is Literature/TheKinginYellow, the subject of the infamous play that drives readers mad.

!!! Tropes:
* Determinator: When she chooses to do something, nothing will stop Ayano from completing a task that she has set for herself.
* ReformedBully: Ayano was a bully to those she considered her social inferiors in elementary school, and absolutely tormented Sayako Fumai in middle school to the point that the other girl had a nervous breakdown. Being thanked for taking her to the nurse is what dramatically changed her personality.
* ThePerfectionist: Her reason for bullying Sayako, at least in part. The girl just won't accept anything less than great success, at least when it comes to academics or club activities.

!!Mitsuki Teruhana
!!! Player: Jakester390
!!! Arcanum: II - The High Priestess

A first-year who participates in several clubs, Mitsuki is a solemn young woman with a sharp tongue and a no-nonsense attitude. She knows that she is easily fooled, after being taken advantage of by a group of girls who pretended to be her friends in order to get her help, but remains naive.

Mitsuki's Persona is Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt and chastity, who rode the chariot of the moon.

!!! Tropes:
* BerserkButton: She has a general zero-tolerance policy with regards to being teased or thinking she's being teased.
* Chuunibyou: While not as extreme as some cases of this, Mitsuki has a vivid imagination, and continued playing imagination-driven games well into her teens, something that resulted in others marking her as such.
* GamerChick: Her father introduced her to the RPG genre when she was young, and she remains invested in it to this day.
* MeaningfulName: InUniverse, even. Her name refers to a moonbeam that fell on her face when she was born.
* Missing Mom: Her mother, an American novelist, died of pregnancy complications when Mitsuki was five days old. She did not realize that this wasn't normal until she was six, at which point the realization (and her father's concealment of it) hit her hard.
* Tomboy: Mitsuki's lack of skill and interest in more traditionally feminine subjects created a gap between herself and her female friends, especially in her later years of middle school.

!!Ai Yukimura
!!! Player: Wolf
!!! Arcanum: XII - Inverse Hanged Man
Ai was once a relatively cheerful and normal student, kind and well-liked. In middle school, she kept her younger sister Rin near constant company, always walking her home from school, and was generally a great older sister and student in general. Then, once she moved on to high school, she accepted someone's confession and spent the afternoon with them instead of Rin, which ended in tragedy as her younger sister vanished on the way home. She feels as though it is her fault, and that her parents blame her for Rin's disappearance.

Ai's Persona is Jeanne d'Arc, the famous standard-bearer and Saint of the Hundred Years War.

!!! Tropes:
* Brutal Honesty: In general, Ai is quite socially talented, but if she does not find anything of worth in your words, she will not hesitate to say so.
* Determinator: Though she is not particularly physically mighty, Ai is unwilling to break even when things don't go her way.
* Heroic Self Deprecation: Ai struggles with a sense of self-worth, due in no small part to her self-percieved role in her sister's disappearance. This also fuels her desire to live quick and die meaningfully.

!!Heiwa Akatsuki
!!! Player: Endwaar
!!! Arcanum: VI - The Lovers

An androgynous second year student, Heiwa is originally from the countryside, and only moved to Madasui after certain events led to him to flee his home for a more accepting place. A dancer and a mythology geek, he struggled to make connections with others when he first arrived, only to befriend a distant cousin, Takeshi. Takeshi brought Heiwa along to social activities until he came down with the Nothingness Curse and ceased to function as a normal person. Heiwa is often socially awkward, not quite grasping what the socially-expected thing to do in a given circumstance is. Nevertheless, he is genuine and warm-hearted.

Heiwa's Persona is Ya'akov, better known as Jacob or Israel, who was the youngest of the Biblical patriarchs and whose sons (and two grandsons) gave their names to the tribes of Israel.

!!! Tropes:
* AbusiveParents: Well, abusive father who was convinced of the virtues of tough love, and was displeased with his son's dancing and other "un-manly pursuits."
* AmbiguousGender: Very deliberately so. While his player uses male pronouns to describe him (and he is biologically male), Heiwa is more genderfluid than solidly attached to any one gender.
* CoolOldLady: Not Heiwa himself, but his great-grandmother, who took him in when he fled from home, then pointed him in the direction of Madasui. A survivor of the Second World War, she is not native to Japan, and married an officer whom she met in Shanghai.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: While he does not really consider himself "male," Heiwa has a long-time appreciation for wearing clothing intended for women. He is especially fond of furisodes, though he likes western dresses, too.

!!Saki Sakurai
!!! Player: Ren
!!! Arcanum: XIX - The Sun

Saki is a second year student at Mishima whose boundless energy and good-cheer tends to bring an equal mixture of exhausted and entertained classmates. A native of Osaka, she only moved to Madasui recently. Before she left her home, however, she was forced to say goodbye to Yuto, a boy that she had been mentoring and helping for several years. It ended poorly for Yuto, but Saki endures, shining onwards.

!!! Tropes:
* BrutalHonesty: Saki is very direct, and while she can usually be trusted not to lie to someone to spare their feelings... she doesn't lie to anyone to spare their feelings.
* CoolBigSis: She played this role to Yuto, back in Osaka, though it ended in tears.
* GenkGirl: Yes, Saki is a tad overenthusiastic and seems to have limitless reserves of energy.
* PerpetualSmiler: Not to a disturbing degree, but Saki is a fairly cheerful girl, and tends to bring smiles with her where she goes.

!!Daisuke Ishikawa
!!! Player: kenny
!!! Arcanum: XIII - Inverse Death

Daisuke is in his last year at Mishima High, having been scouted years before for his programming skills. He feels intensely guilty for the suicide of a friend, and has become fixated on the event to the point of crippling his social life and general performance.

Daisuke's Persona is Orcus, a Roman god of the Underworld that was later affiliated with Pluto.

!!! Tropes:
* Happily Adopted: By a lesbian Japanese couple that moved to Massachusetts, in the US.
* Its All My Fault: Daisuke insists on believing this about his friend's suicide despite knowing better. Mostly, he doesn't want to acknowledge his own helplessness.
* Japanese Delinquents: Daisuke has the look of one, at least, though he does not act especially like one.
* Polyamory: He was involved in a romance with a boy named Diego, who was also dating his best friend Kiara... until her death, at which point the two boys broke it off.
* Teen Genius: He's been working as a professional programmer since he was fourteen!

!!Ikuyo Tsuyama
!!! Player: Kemp
!!! Arcanum: XII - The Inverse Hanged Man

A quiet third year that is the president of the Health Committee of Mishima's High School branch, Ikuyo does not stand out from a crowd. Compassionate and non-judgmental to a fault, she has become known as a person upon whom you can rely, if ever you need it. It doesn't help, then, that she rarely gets a chance to speak her own mind, being overwhelmed by others' troubles. The daughter of a doctor who aspired to once become one herself, she has been given the burden of taking care of her father once he took to alcoholism after he and her mother split apart.

Ikuyo's Persona is the Caladrius, a Roman bird that was able to cleanse people of diseases by taking them onto itself and flying into the sun.

!!! Tropes:
* AllLovingHeroine: Ikuyo is so utterly compassionate that she neglects her own desires and needs.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: While she does indeed have friends, they are both no longer at Mishima, leaving Ikuyo rather lonely even as she is surrounded by people.
* PromotionToParent: For her father, of all people, after he took to alcoholism. Also to some extent to everyone who comes to her with fears and concerns.
* TheQuietOne: When others are not consulting with her, Ikuyo remains fairly quiet, simply observing people rather than interacting with them.

!!Kikuhime Yamashina-no-miya
!!! Player: endwaar
!!! Arcanum: XI - The Strength
Kikuhime Yamashina-no-miya is a member of the Yamashina-no-miya ōke family, though the title is now officially defunct. The eldest child of her parents, they were mildly disappointed that she was born a girl, and utterly horrified that she was born without pigment. As such, she has spent much of her life pretending to simply have pale skin while dying her hair. When she was six, her parents had another child, a boy who was notalbino, and immediately shifted their attentions to him. Since then, Kikuhime has spent a great deal of time learning, and planning. She wishes to be free to be herself, whatever that may mean.

Kikuhime's Persona is Tamamo-no-Mae, the most famous kitsune in Japanese tradition.
!!! Tropes:
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Kikuhime is, on the surface, a sweet, compassionate, and courteous young woman, but if she is wroth or wronged, beware her fangs.
* FragileSpeedster: With her stats, Kikuhime is a critical-hit beast, but does not have much in the way of defenses.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Kikuhime's weapon in the Painted World, and one of the four martial arts with which she is proficient.
* NaginatasAreFeminine: Kikuhime is a member of the naginata-do club, and is rather proficient in the use of the weapon.
* TheOjou: Both her upbringing and how other classmates tend to see her makes Kikuhime fall squarely within this trope.
* SacrificedBasicSkillForAwesomeTraining: Perhaps this overstates it, but Kikuhime has virtually no skills with which to care for herself or her house - she cannot cook, cannot clean beyond the most basic tasks, has not the faintest clue on how to use Japan's systems of public transportation... and generally lacks a lot of essential life skills for those not insanely wealthy.
* WeakenedByTheLight: Not... exactly, but Kikuhime, as an albino, burns horrifically badly and insanely fast when it comes to standing outside in the sunlight. It's why she always keeps a parasol nearby.
* YamatoNadeshiko: Kikuhime has been raised to be one of these, and while her core of steel has yet to come to the fore, she has one well hidden beneath the surface.

!!Kiyoshi Akamine
!!! Player: Umbraflamma
!!! Arcanum: XII - The Hanged Man
Kiyoshi is the heir of a long line of kendo dojo teachers, themselves descended from a samurai family stripped of their status during the Meiji era. A man who would have been happier living in the Edo period, Kiyoshi often finds the modern world of Japan and Madasui equally intimidating and horrifying.

Kiyoshi's Persona is Saigo Takamori, a man infamous as the last samurai of Japan, who led a revolt against the government when the samurai lost their high status during the Meiji era.
!!! Tropes:
* HatesBeingTouched: As part of the etiquette he was taught, Kiyoshi finds the idea of others touching him mildly horrifying.
* NobleBigot: He tries his best to be a good person, but his definitions of what that entails often leads him to being blind to some of the more modern developments - like sexuality, gender roles, and what constitutes appropriate entertainment.
* Samurai: He certainly considers himself one, although the social status part of the term does not apply any more.
* Values Dissonance: Kiyoshi was raised in an extremely traditional manner, and has very firm beliefs about what is right and wrong. Unfortunately for both him and those around him, his view of what is right and what is wrong is several centuries out of date.
* Walking Techbane: Kiyoshi is... not very good with machines. They tend to malfunction whenever he's near, and he is mildly terrified of anything more advanced than a landline telephone.

!!Mikoto Misaki
!!! Player: Mirrormask
!!! Arcanum: XVII - The Star

Mikoto is a third year at Mishima's High School division, as well as a member of the dance club. Graceful and playful, she usually lives in the moment, following her own dreams and goals to fruition. However, this drive is nigh-constant, and pushes as many people away as it does impress people with her motivation.

Mikoto's Persona is Verchern, one of the two goddesses deemed as "Aurora" in Slavic folklore. She closes the gates to the sun's palace, so that night may arrive.

!!! Tropes
* AlliterativeName: Mikoto Misaki, which gives her her nickname.
* BerserkButton: She sees any obstacles or challenges she encounters as direct threats to her happiness. People who make themselves into such things see a darker side of Mikoto.
* Determinator: Mikoto is driven, almost to a flaw, to overcome all obstacles in what she sees as her path.
* InUniverseNickname: Mi-Mi, from the first sound of both her names.

!! Kyousuke Aoki
!!! Player: Zodai
!!! Arcanum: VIII - The Justice
The homeroom teacher of Class 2-B, Kyousuke is someone who has gone through rather more of life than his students. When he was young he was content to allow life to flow by as he watched, but an incident wherein he helped the police catch a killer due to his investigative and deductive ability inspired him to think of joining the police force. His two friends and younger sister were mostly in agreement with him, and Kyousuke aspired to greater meaning and justice in his life. Tragedy struck, however, in high school, when bullying and gang violence was on the rise, and Kyousuke tried to step up against it. He failed - but his friend, Tatsuya did not, and Tatsuya died because he did step up, even as he was successful.

Kyousuke lost his belief in his own ability to be a hero, and retreated into himself... for over a decade he remained in retreat, until he finally removed himself and got a degree in teaching, eventually landing at Mishima of all places.

Appropriately enough, Kyousuke's Persona is a certain Crimson Guardian, a similar failed hero.

!!! Tropes:
* DissonantSerenity: Though this is perhaps an overstatement, in times of stress, Kyousuke is much more level-headed than one might expect of someone so disillusioned with heroism.
* Expy: Not Kyousuke himself. Rather, his Persona has some parallels to a certain red archer.
