Characters in ''FanFic/AuraOfTheAzure''. Each character from ''[=BlazBlue=]'' and ''Guilty Gear'' is an AU version of said character, and some of the ''RWBY'' characters have some changes in personality. For the canon ''[=BlazBlue=]'' series, see [[Characters/BlazBlue here]]. For the canon ''RWBY'' series, see [[Characters/{{RWBY}} here]]. For the canon ''Guilty Gear'' series, see [[Characters/GuiltyGear here]].

!Student Teams
!!Team RJNN (Disbanded)
[[folder:Ragna the Bloodedge]]
* AdaptationalBadass: Not in terms of power-scaling as he actually suffers from being an AdaptationalWimp (See below for details). [[spoiler: His recently new ability to copy his opponents' Semblance, however, is an ability Ragna never had in the games and it's clear that the Grimm Aura he possesses may have various other powers that haven't been discovered yet]].
* AdaptationalHeroism: While Ragna was TheHero in ''[=BlazBlue=]'', he also started out as a mass-murderer who only cared about revenge and was the most wanted criminal on the planet. In this AU, He was never a criminal here and has more heroic ideals from the start. This is also due to lacking the more brutal and tragic backstory from canon.
* AdaptationalJerkass: Not presently, but his [[spoiler:younger self was a borderline BigBrotherBully toward Jin, deriding him for his weaknesses and showing {{no sympathy}} to the fact that he almost died, while even though his child self was rough around the edges in canon, he was still ultimately a good big brother.]]
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Ragna lacks his angsty and {{jerkass}} traits from canon due to Terumi not being a part of his backstory and not becoming a criminal. While he is still foul-mouthed and short-tempered with little patience for proper procedures, he is far more outgoing and kind person, as well as genuinely fights to help others.
* AdaptationalWimp: In canon, Ragna is a OneManArmy capable of fighting {{reality warper}}s, fallen gods and {{eldritch abomination}}s single-handedly as well as saving his universe by absorbing all the dreams of those inside it and becoming the core for its version of God and resetting the world. Here, he is on his way to becoming a OneManArmy and is no doubt obtaining immense power, but he is only a sliver of what canon Ragna is capable of.
* {{BFS}}: His large sword-scythe hybrid: Bloodedge.
* BigBrotherBully: He was a ''God awful'' brother to Jin growing up. By present-day, he averts this, but the damage has been done.
* TheDreaded: Him being [[spoiler:outed as the Black Beast on live broadcast has left the world frightened of him]].
* ForcedToWatch: Ragna was forced to watch as [[spoiler:he attacked innocent civilians and his friends while berserk]].
* HeroWithBadPublicity: After the Vytal Festival, he's still one of the good guys, but [[spoiler:thanks to being outed as the Black Beast to the entire planet, he's loathed and feared by all but a select few]].
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: His semblance is able to let him absorb the memories of others, though how much depends on his opponent's mental fortitude.
* TheLeader: Of Team RJNN.
* LovecraftianSuperpower: If the Grimm Aura he has is anything like its canon counterpart, then Ragna may obtain powers of a similar nature. So far its only power of such a degree is the strong feeling of dread and fear is projects in others, even the likes of Cinder. [[spoiler:When Ragna's restriction is released, it can amplify the powers of Grimm and attract them to him like a moth to a flame and when Terumi makes it go berserk, he becomes a nigh-invulnerable half-beast capable of shrugging off nearly all attacks.]]
* PowerCopying: As of chapter 44 [[spoiler:Ragna can copy his opponents' Semblance by absorbing their Aura. The requirements are that he needs to first absorb their aura, they must have had their Semblance for at least 6 months and his aura must be compatible with his opponent. The copied Semblance is not permanent and once used, Ragna can only use the Semblance again if he absorbs their Aura again.]]
* SoulEating: His semblance, Aura Eater, can absorb the aura of his opponents through attacks and use that energy to increase his power and heal just like its canon counterpart Soul Eater. [[spoiler: Chapter 44 reveals that by absorbing someone's aura he can copy their Semblance as his fight with Winter has him creating his own Glyph.]]
* SuperMode: Removing his limiter functions as this for him. In this state, he can briefly stalemate ''Azrael''. It doesn't last long though and can leave him vulnerable afterwards.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: [[spoiler: Ragna gets one in chapter 50 in the form of Beast-Ragna, a nigh-invulnerable berserker capable of projecting high amounts of dark energy and attacks as well as being capable of powering through everything from weapons and bullets, Nora's semblance at full blast, Penny's lasers and even ''Ruby's Silver Eyes''. The only thing that can actually harm him in Jin's Power of Order.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: He was a [[spoiler:horrible older brother to Jin growing up, but he's mellowed out and is sorry for his terrible actions.]] He's also nicer than he was as a child overall.
* UnskilledButStrong: A major problem of his is that he prefers to overpower his opponents rather than rely on skill. Jubei calls him out of this numerous times during his training, as his power would become a crutch and would effectively cripple him if he ever finds himself overwhelmed.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jin Kisaragi]]
* TheAce: Was regarded as this back at Atlas and it carries over to Beacon. He's got good looks, excellent grades, and is an outstanding combatant that surpasses even Winter Schnee at his age.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: While he is still a Jerkass like in canon, he is far more humble, patient and lacks both the AxCrazy and {{yandere}} traits that he had towards his brother. He also eventually befriends the resident NiceGuy Jaune of all people later on, even helping him train and giving him advice. Noel and Weiss also state that deep beneath his cold exterior, lies a noble and kind man.
* AdaptationalWimp: Jin in canon is also a OneManArmy, though to less of an extent to his brother Ragna. However, he is capable of fighting beings of similar caliber and he possesses the Power of Order which grants him limited immunity to {{reality warper}}s and lets him straight up tear through reality with sheer willpower. In the AU, he could potentially be a OneManArmy but is clearly less powerful and is not obviously immune to reality warping or higher powers in this fic. The absence of the Power of Order adds to this, though WordOfGod states that it still exists and has yet to come into play. [[spoiler:He unlocks the Power of Order during the Breach.]]
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: He and Weiss have been close friends since they were children, and they eventually become a couple.
* CoolSword: A literal case to with Yukianesa.
* AnIcePerson: Both in ability and personality.
* IDidWhatIHadtoDo: Jin's justification for [[spoiler:killing Penny while she was under Relius's control.]]
* JerkassHasAPoint: Jin may have been a harsh if not a little condescending and cold asshole, but he raises many good points such as Jaune not being strong enough for Beacon or how that while not all faunas are bad, the White Fang are still criminals and their reasons do not justify their actions.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He may be cold and aloof, but he deeply cares for his teammates and has a strong sense of justice.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: His sword: Yukianesa.
* TheLancer: Fills this role and has a cold, aloof mentality when compared to his elder brother's aggressive, wrathful nature.
* MakingASplash: As of chapter 32, Jin developed the ability to control water. Thanks to Ky's help after a sparring match.
* TheMentor: He helps train Jaune to further improve his fighting abilities.
* OfficialCouple: With Weiss as of the recent chapters.
* RuleOfSymbolism: As it was explained in the author's note of chapter 33 that Jin's friendship with Jaune a well as him being in Beacon has allowed Jin's personal nature to be more flexible and less rigid, which allowed him to control water.
* WeakButSkilled: Compared to his brother at least. He's not physically as strong as he is, yet has a greater emphasis on finesse and elegant swordplay.
* SuperMode: During the breach on Vale, Jin [[spoiler:awakens the Power of Order, granting him to power to effortlessly destroy all the Grimm and the Malachite Serpent. WordOfGod states that the Power of Order has similar properties to the Silver Eyes in this AU.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Noel Vermilion]]
* AdaptationalWimp: While she was the weakest of the three main [=BlazBlue=] protagonists at the start, she did eventually gain control of her SuperPoweredEvilSide, which granted her the ability to decide the true timeline and let her arguably surpass both of her contemporaries at that point. There's no indication that she has these abilities here and otherwise, has her base form's standard move-set.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Played with. She doesn't return Makoto's feelings for her, but she didn't even know about them in the first place since her friend kept them from her out of fear.
* TheGunslinger: Her weapons are the dual guns: Bolverk.
* LethalChef: As expected of Noel, team JNPR learned this the hard way along with Ragna and Bang.
* OfficialCouple: With Jaune as of chapter 33.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Makoto Nanaya]]
* FantasticRacism: She's gone through this in her life, but she takes it in stride and refuses to let it hold her down.
* {{Gayngst}}: Part of why she kept her crush on Noel a secret was because of this. A faunas would have it hard enough as is. A gay faunas? Even more so. This would also cause her friends to be ridiculed by proxy.
* IncompatibleOrientation: She's in love with Noel, who could never love her the way she does.
* SuperStrength: Her semblance, which is self explanatary. It can get stronger if Makoto thinks about the person she cares a lot about.
[[/folder]]

!!Team BLST (Disbanded)
[[folder:Bang Shishigami]]
* AdaptationalBadass: At the beginning of the series, he started off as a complete joke that literally any named character could beat without trying. It wasn't until the later entries where PopularityPower and CharacterDevelopment allowed him to grow to be on par with the likes of Ragna and Relius. He starts off much more competent here and can effectively fight opponents who would have had no trouble with him in canon.
* TheLeader: Of Team BLST.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bullet]]
* FriendlyRivalry: She and Yang form one after they become friends.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Amane Nishiki]]
* AdaptationalWimp: It's one of the more notable cases since his canon counterpart was an observer and a straight-up RealityWarper that surpasses even the likes of Rachel Alucard during her ''Calamity Trigger'' days. Here, he's a Beacon student, albeit a strong one.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He comes off as rather campy, but he's a very effective fighter, not to mention insightful on whatever situation is at hand.
* WhatTheHellHero: Amane speaks to and scolds Team RWBY after their investigation for recklessly putting the lives of Vale in danger and causing collateral damage as a result of it. Ruby of all people is the first member of her team to admit this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tao Kaka]]
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: While her original counterpart was never unattractive, she has a human face here rather than a perpetually black blob... thing that's heavily implied to be her actual face and not just a shadow.
* AnimalMotifs: She's a cat faunas of the Kaka clan, so cats are pretty obvious.
* DumbBlonde: Her brain cells can be counted on the finger of one hand and her hair is blonde.
[[/folder]]

!!Team RWBY (Disbanded)
[[folder:Ruby Rose]]
* AdaptationalIntelligence: While she still has the naive and cheerful dreamer from canon, it's clear that when Amane scolds her and her team for their reckless actions when they attempted to snoop, she understood what their actions had caused, and uncharacteristically agrees that they couldn't have prevented what happened regardless of how many people they took.
* SinisterScythe: Crescent Rose.
* TookALevelInCynic: [[spoiler: When Ruby witnesses Penny's death, she loses her cheery hopeful demeanor and also begins to have doubts about Ragna in her head.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Weiss Schnee]]
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Though she still has some of her flaws and started off as a racist and entitled bitch, her talk with Celica after Blake's disappearance has made her wise up way more than in canon where all it took was a weekend to think about her actions. In this fic, she now genuinely wants to see the faunas in a better light and improve relationships with them, a goal she never had in canon. She also has her more positive traits present due to having Jin as a LoveInterest.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: She and Jin have been close friends since they were children, and they eventually become a couple.
* MoralityPet: Her friendship and later romance with Jin bring out his nicer qualities.
* OfficialCouple: As of now, she is currently with Jin, the two of them developing feelings for one another since their early adolescent years.
* TookALevelInKindness: As with canon, she becomes more open-minded and remorseful for her and her family's behavior and treatment of the Faunus. It also helps that unlike in canon, she now wants to fix relations with the Faunus.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Blake Belladonna]]
* AdaptationalJerkass: Blake is far more toxic and aggressive than in canon. She reacted violently to the simple mention or idea that the White Fang was evil, instead of trying to antagonize humanity, which does deserve some blame but not all of it. When Amane scolds them for their reckless behavior and the collateral damage they caused, does she become remorseless and reflect on her actions? No, she instead deflects blame on the others for joining their investigation, blaming it on the size of their group despite the fact that encountering Azrael was an inevitability and could have led to their deaths if Ragna, Jin, and Jubei hadn't have held him off. Blake has most likely TookALevelInKindness after talking to Makoto, but it's clear she was acting like a racist hypocritical bitch.
* FantasticRacism: While she has been on the receiving end, her dialogue shows that she's just as racist to humans as the White Fang is, just expressed non-violently.
* ItsAllMyFault: Her reasoning for blaming the investigation's failure on there being too many people was mostly out of guilt since the entire thing was her idea.
* MoralMyopia: She abandoned the White Fang because of their actions, but anytime someone calls them out, even from a moral standpoint and not a racial one, she gets bitchy.
* NeverMyFault: Refuses to take responsibility from what their investigation wrought and instead blames the number of people that joined them despite the fact the outcome would have actually been worse if it was just them. Though she later clarifies that she actually feels a lot of guilt and is just lashing out of self-loathing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Yang Xiao Long]]
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Appears to have more obvious angst and problems than in canon.
* BigSisterInstinct: She's very protective of her younger sister.
* EnergyAbsorption: A downplayed version, as while she can absorb the kinetic energy and force she receives from being hit, it does not nullify damage and is therefore at risk of being defeated or rendered unconscious from her opponents' attacks. Instead of simply blasting the force back at her opponents, she stores it up and unleashes it through an enraged state.
* EtTuBrute: [[spoiler: Feels this way when she learns Ragna had been suspicious of Cinder for months and did not tell anyone. However Cinder left out the part where she threatened Ragna's family to plant more suspicion on him.]]
* FriendlyRivalry: Has one with Bullet, and while the two at first got off to a rocky start, they did become friends afterwards.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes turn red when she's angry or when her Semblance activates.
* TookALevelInJerkass: [[spoiler: While she does suffer from this in canon, the loss of her arm and Ragna's 'betrayal' has turned her far more toxic and angry, to the point that she genuinely acts nasty and spiteful towards her sister, which is something Yang would never do intentionally in canon. She now even states that if she ever sees Ragna again that she'll make him suffer, which shows a vindictive and possibly sadistic side of her that was never explored in canon.]]
[[/folder]]

!!Team JNPR (Disbanded)
[[folder: Jaune Arc]]
* AdaptationalBadass: While still as inexperienced and raw as in canon, the fact that both Pyrrha and Jin start to train him makes him develop even more as a fighter and the last we see him in the practice room, he is adept enough to trade blows with Jin during a sparring session, which is an improvement over the first time they fought and Jaune could barely touch him.
* MoralityPet: He becomes one of the few people Jin is openly kind towards.
* NiceGuy: As usual, Jaune is a kind-hearted goofball who sees the good in others. He even earns the respect and friendship of [[{{Jerkass}} Jin]].
* OfficialCouple: With Noel as of chapter 33.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nora Valkyrie]]
* MixAndMatchWeapon: Her weapon is a grenade launcher that turns into a hammer.
* ShockAndAwe: Her Semblance not only makes her immune to electricity, but can allow her to store it up and either use it to increase her strength or to electrocute opponents like a human taser. She can also channel electricity into her hammer, similiar to one of allusions, the Norse god Thor.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pyrrha Nikos]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Pyrrha made it clear with Jin that if he'd have gotten Jaune expelled from Beacon by revealing the truth of his transcripts. Then she would would have hated him.
* HeartbrokenBadass: She was pretty hurt by Jaune getting together with Noel and laments that she wasn't fast enough to confess her feelings, but she keeps that to herself.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: After having a talk with Makoto, she decides that while she missed her chance to confess her feelings to Jaune, she can at least be happy for him and Noel.
* TheMentor: She helps train Jaune.
* TheWorfEffect: She's TheAce of team JNPR and a champion tournament fighter. To show the difference in power and ability between [[spoiler:her and Nu, she gets easily defeated. To make matters worse for her, it's clear that Nu was hardly putting any effort into the fight.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lie Ren]]
* DualWield: His bladed pistols.
* VisibleInvisibility: His Semblance can hide him and others from Grimm, but it is represented by taking away the saturation in his and other peoples' bodies. Whether this actually makes them invisible to people or makes them so silent they cannot be seen is up for debate.
* ThePowerOfApathy: Literally. Ren's Semblance can cloak himself and others around him from Grimm and certain people by suppressing their emotions and inducing a state of apathy, which makes them essentially invisible.

[[/folder]]

!! Team SSSN
[[folder:Sun Wukong]]
* MagicStaff: Technological version of this trope. His weapon is a bo staff that transforms into a pair of nunchucks that are also shotguns.
* ThisIsMyBoomstick: His nunchuck are also sawn-off shotguns that he can fire buckshots out of each end and flail them around while blasting them at opponents. This inspiration came from the way the [[Film/TheTerminator T-800]] cocks shotguns with one hand.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Neptune Vasilias]]
[[/folder]]

!! Team SDLK
[[folder:Sol Badguy]]
* AdaptationalWimp: In the ''Guilty Gear'' franchise, Sol is a PhysicalGod capable of single-handedly defeating entire armies and other physical gods, destroying {{eldritch abomination}}s and surviving an EldritchLocation that can obliterate a normal person's soul, plus his SuperMode is so powerful it breaks the fundamental laws of reality and required time to stand still for him to use it safely... [[WillfullyWeak which is why he is always holding back]]. In this AU however, while he is quite strong, he is only a OneManArmy at best if we see him in action and is capable of fighting Ragna with his restriction released.
* {{Jerkass}}: As per usual, Sol is a foul-mouthed, punkish and disrespectful towards authority and teacher alike, not even flinching or fearing Glynda's wrath. However, it's clear he is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold like in canon.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ky Kiske]]
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Due to most likely being based on young Ky, not the mature king from the Xrd games. In his younger years, Ky was quite zealous in his religious beliefs and was a merciless killer of Gears, not to mention had a heated rivalry with Sol and despised Gears. In the AU, his more positive traits are more present, he lacks any religious beliefs and is a kind and well-mannered young man.
* AdaptationalWimp: Ky in canon was one of the strongest humans in the franchise, powerful enough to trade blows with {{physical god}}s like Sol and was known back in the Crusades for being a merciless Gear killer but after gaining Gear's blood, he became even more powerful. In this AU, he is powerful enough to fight on par and overpower Jin and is clearly possibly a OneManArmy like his teammate.
* OfficialCouple: With his teammate Dizzy, like in canon, though at a much younger age and wishes to propose to her upon graduation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dizzy]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Leo Whitefang]]
[[/folder]]

!! Team KKMT
[[folder:Kagura Mutsuki]]
* TheCasanova: known for flirting with almost every woman he comes across. He even succeeds in getting several female's contact information.
* ChivalrousPervert: Analyzed each member of team RWBY's measurements upon first meeting them and also flirts with them. Didn't do this with Ruby because she's 15 years old. Groped Bullet when he first met her. Even peeped at his female teammates. Though his teammates have made it clear that he is a very capable leader and warrior.
* TheLeader: Of team KKMT.

[[/folder]]

! Villains
!! Team CSMN
[[folder:Cinder Fall]]
* BigBadEnsemble: Shares this with Hazama currently.
* HateSink: Much like in canon, Cinder is a SmugSnake and ManipulativeBitch who enjoys making others' lives miserable in her power for power. While more or less responsible for many of her crimes in canon, her threat towards Ragna and his family is what really pisses readers off, and hopes that eventually Ragna will defeat or kill Cinder in a future chapter.
* ManipulativeBitch: She wouldn't be Cinder if she wasn't a scheming harpy who controls and abuses people around her, even using Emerald's desire for a family to abuse her semblance.
* ShameIfSomethingHappened: Cinder's heavily implied threat towards Celica and Saya. As expected, Ragna doesn't take this well.
* SmugSnake: A conniving arrogant bitch who thinks highly of herself despite only being a lackey and pawn.
* SoftSpokenSadist: Speaks in a calm and manipulative manner to hide her depravity.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Emerald Sustrai]]
* AbusiveParents: While Cinder is not her mother, Emerald appears to see her as a mother figure and the only family she has. However Cinder, on the other hand, is only using Emerald for her semblance and has physically and verbally abused her whenever she questions Cinder or is out of line. Unfortunately Emerald is too dependent on Cinder to see through her facade.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Pretends to act like a polite and friendly person towards Ruby and other students, in actual fact is disgusted by how naive and altruistic they are and openly admits to Mercury that she hates them.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: She's very manipulative and serves Cinder, but she's certainly unnerved by the depths of Relius's madness and what he did to his wife and daughter.
* MasterOfIllusion: Her semblance allows her to alter the perception of people's minds and create things that aren't even there or manipulate others into believing events happen a certain way. Her semblance is the reason why Cinder took her in.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mercury Black]]
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He's a kickboxer who fights his opponents with an arrogant and carefree attitude.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He's an arrogant prick, but even he's freaked out by Relius and what he did to his family.
* FreudianExcuse: The abuse, near-fatal training, and theft of his semblance at the hands of his now-deceased father led to Mercury become a bitter and cruel person.
* HandicappedBadass: Mercury has prosthetic legs from a fight to the death with his father, but this has only made him even more deadly in combat.
* {{Jerkass}}: He is a smug, arrogant and cruel punk who enjoys the carnage and misery he helps Cinder with. He is apathetic towards murder and tends to nonchalantly attack or kill others without much thought.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nu]]
* AxCrazy: The experiments done to her at the Murakumo labs have left her sanity in short supply. Her being in the presence of Ragna causes her to become violent and unhinged, so much so that when Emerald and Mercury try to calm her down, she threatens to kill them if they don't bring Ragna back.
* BrokenAce: She's in Ragna's league when it comes to raw power, so much so that she can easily defeat [[spoiler:all of team JNPR, including Pyrrha]], but the experiments done to her have left her an emotionally unstable psychopath.
* FreudianExcuse: She was abducted as a child and experimented on by the scientists at the Murakumo labs, leading to her sanity being broken and being turned into a cybernetic killing machine.
* OneManArmy: Given that she can rival Ragna in power shows she is no doubt capable of being this. [[spoiler: Chapter 43 exemplifies it better when she is capable of singlehandedly fighting Team JNPR alone ''while barely using her actual power'' and defeats Pyrrha and Nora, the two heavy hitters of the team, without much effort.]]
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Played with. In the games, she was technically related to Ragna due to being a clone of Saya. Here, she isn't, but [[spoiler:Chapter 55 reveals she is the younger sister of Ragna who was abducted as a child and experimented on by the Murakumo Labs]]. Still related, but in a much different way.
* TheStoic: She's this for the most part when not in Ragna's presence. [[spoiler: During her fight and defeat of Pyrrha in the tournament, she has a constant bored look on her face, both because she's not near Ragna and also because in comparison to her full power Team JNPR are weaklings.]]
* {{Yandere}}: She is the same AxCrazy bitch from canon whose love for Ragna is so strong that she wants to murder him in cold blood. However, the reasons behind this love are unclear due to Nu not being a clone of Saya like in canon.
[[/folder]]

!!Other Villains
[[folder:Roman Torchwick]]
* AdaptationalVillainy: While he was a villain in canon, Roman is much worse in this fic. He is more of a bastard, eager to insult and mock his enemies' attempts at doing the right thing and is shown to be more of a sadist, shown when after the train crashes into Vale like in Vol 2, he is reduced to maniacal laughter, eager to watch the carnage unfold. The canon Roman on the other hand while a violent person who enjoys crime was not as batshit crazy.
* AxCrazy: It's clear that he is eager to watch as Vale and its people are attacked and killed by Grimm if the sadistic laughter wasn't evidence enough.
* LaughingMad: Lets out one when the train crashes through to Vale, unleashing the Grimm on the kingdom.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: He gives two actually. One to Blake to try and make her pull a FaceHeelTurn only to make her reflect on her actions, and one to Ruby, which is far more chilling and cruel.
-->'''Ruby:''' LOOK AT THIS TORCHWICK! The people are hurt, and the Grimm are coming because of the destruction you caused. Is this something you should be proud of?!\
'''Roman:''' I'd say.... yes it is Little Red, and the best part about this is this is all on you guys. You see I knew you guys were coming to our humble base. So it wasn't really that hard to be prepared for when you guys come crashing our homes. You and your band of misfits and two professionals were sent to stop me and you all failed. That fact will haunt the ten of you for years because you failed to stop the destruction. So technically speaking, this is also your fault as it is mine.

[[folder:Adam Taurus]]
* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: To make Adam a more complex character, trvn has removed his psychotic possessive {{Yandere}} traits towards Blake and his more spite-driven motives and has made him the KnightTemplar Blake originally believed him to be, believing he is fighting for a just cause and that humanity is inherently evil and weak for what they did to the Faunus.
* EnergyAbsorption: His Semblance allows him to absorb and block energy fired or blasted at him, then releases it as powerful energy slashes or shockwaves from his sword or body.
* FantasticRacism: Towards Humans, believing them to be weaker than Faunus and that they are beneath them. This belief is so strong that he doesn't believe Jin has injuries during their fight and just assumes arrogantly that he is stronger.
* KatanasAreBetter: Subverted as his sword is technically a ninjato, which is straight and longer than a katana and not an actual Japanese weapon. Regardless, he uses Iaijutsu techniques and the Iaido stance as if he is wielding one.
* KnightTemplar: Much more than in canon, Adam is fueled by his hatred for humanity and wants vengeance on them for what they did to his kind, no matter how ruthless and violent he has to get to achieve his goals.
* LargeHam: Surprisingly hammy in this fic, as he is shown to give speeches and monologues about his superiority to Jin and his men.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hazama/Yuuki Terumi]]
* CompositeCharacter: In canon, Hazama and Terumi are separate entities with Terumi being a ghost and Hazama serving as his vessel. In this AU it appears that Hazama is just an alias for Terumi. However similar to the anime, it currently is leaving this ambiguous as to whether or not Hazama is his vessel or just an alias.
* TheDreaded: The likes of Jubei and Ozpin fear him greatly, with Ozpin losing his stoic demeanor the minute Terumi appears to him.
* TheGhost: Besides his brief conversation with Ozpin, Terumi has not appeared once in the fic, even 37 chapters in and him and Hazama have yet to take action. Terumi more so considering we haven't even seen him physically. Chapter 38 supposedly reveals that Hazama is just an alias for Terumi and that they are one in the same.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Shares this with Izanami. Many of his actions in the past and present have influenced many events within the story. He is heavily implied to be the one who created the Abnormal Grimm and is the master of the Malachite Serpent. Also, like in canon, he betrayed the Six Heroes though whether he created the Aura Beast or killed Platinum and Nine hasn't been confirmed yet. Chapter heavily implies he has killed Nine and turned her into Phantom like in canon.
* HeroKiller: Enjoys killing so-called heroes and Huntsman and Huntresses as well as murdered Nine and Trinity years ago. [[spoiler:The later chapters heavily implies he killed Summer Rose.]]
* TheManBehindTheMan: Is this to Cinder. He's the one giving her orders and making all the arrangements to help her infiltrate Beacon and pass off as students.
* ManipulativeBastard: He successfully infiltrated the Atlesian Military and has played both Ironwood and Winter for fools, using his position in the Intelligence Department to manipulate records and data as well as make sure Cinder and her gang are not caught.
* {{Sadist}}: Enjoys inflicting pain and suffering on others.
* SmugSnake: Retains his smug personality from canon but is not borderline arrogant like Cinder, even warning her not to underestimate her opponents.
* SpannerInTheWorks: The entire Breach event was all just a XanatosGambit created by Hazama to help with Salem and Cinder's plans. The entire point of the plan was to weaken the enemy's defenses, tarnish Ozpin's reputation as well as make Ironwood become careless and bloated. When Cinder asks what if something were to go wrong, he states that the events would benefit them regardless.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Relius Clover]]
* ArchnemesisDad: Serves as this to his son Carl.
* TheDreaded: Emerald and Mercury are terrified of him, not just because he's an amoral sociopath, but because of what he did to his family.
* MadScientist: A brilliant yet depraved scientist, famous for creating living automatons, like his wife and daughter.
* TheSociopath: Lack of compassion and empathy towards others? Check. Is well-mannered yet utterly void of emotion? Check. Turned his own wife and daughter into androids? Check. Yep, he's a sociopath.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Azrael]]
* BloodKnight: He thrives off battle and prefers opponents that can challenge him.
* OneManArmy: He casually dominated teams RWBY and RJNN all at once without trying.
* TheDreaded: Is known as the Boogeyman to many Huntsman and Huntresses across Remnant. Even General Ironwood, Kokonoe, Iron Tager, Qrow Branwen, and Winter Schnee are aware of his infamy.
* WakeUpCallBoss: What Azrael was to the characters during the investigation. Proving to them how dangerous things trul are and can't take the threats lightly anymore.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Salem]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: Appears to be this if her backstory in canon is the same. [[spoiler:However it appears that she and her faction are just puppets in Izanami's plans.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Izanami]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: Shares this with Terumi. She is the boss to Terumi and Relius as well as Phantom and they appear to be using Salem and her faction as pawns in Izanami's game.
* TheManBehindTheMan: She is this to Terumi and Relius, and unknowingly to Salem.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Has large soulless red eyes which glow to match her empty expression.

[[folder:Celica A. Mercury]]
* NoSenseOfDirection: Like the games, her ability to get lost is legendary. She somehow got lost when trying to get to a picnic spot with Ragna, Jin, and Saya that was only ''ten minutes away''.
* HealingHands: How Celica was able to heal Jin's injury that was caused by his fight with Azrael.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Saya]]
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Inverted. She was never captured and turned into a vessel here, nor was she cloned to create the Murakumos, so she gets to live a happy life with her brother and adoptive mother.
