!!Glitter's Group
[[folder: Glitter]]
[[quoteright:327:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_glitter.PNG]]
The main protagonist of the comic. A spunky sergeant in the unicorn army. Her family was killed during the zombie apocalypse.
----
* ActionGirl: A cutesy unicorn-mare who can cut you to ribbons with her horn and throw you around like a ragdoll with her magic.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: She felt that way towards her brother and her father, both of which seemingly outshone her when it came to magical ability.
* BadassBandolier: Or the unicorn-version of it. For the majority of the story Glitter wears a harness with grenades attached to it.
* BadassInDistress: Glitter is more than capable of holding her own, but she has her moments of getting overwhelmed and needing help from her teammates.
* TheChosenOne: [[spoiler: Season 3 reveals she is Death's steed. Glitter isn't too happy about it, to say the least.]]
* DamselInDistress:
** Blaze has to save her from the hellhound when she passes out from blood loss and fever in episode 3.
** [[spoiler: Blight kidnaps her under Pestilence's orders. She only narrowly escapes thanks to Blight coming to his senses after realizing Pestilence was never planning to make Glitter immortal like he promised.]]
* DefiantToTheEnd: [[spoiler: When Death is about to kill her (or pretendng to, anyway) in episode 92, it looks for a brief moment as if she's preparing to beg for her life. But then she instead calls Death a coward for following Pestilence's orders, despite having the power and the means to defy him. Subverted, since Blight's intervention allows her to escape.]]
* DespairEventHorizon: Nearly enters one twice. Once when she believes Commander Sprinkles has been killed and another one when Yellowstone camp is overrun by the zombie-gnomes and her, Blaze and Kate are left as the only survivors. Both times she snaps out of it relatively quickly.
* HotBlooded: She's very quick to charge in and pick a fight. It usually takes others holding her back in some way. shape or form to make her stop and listen.
* TheLeader: Slowly but steadily steps into this position over the course of the story, being the one to lead the group most of the time and make the tougher decisions.
* PinkIsFeminine: Downplayed. Her mane is partially pink and she's the only female unicorn in the group.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: [[spoiler: Gives a major one to Famine and Death in episode 101 when they reveal to her that Death was Grim the whole time and Famine knew, but lied about it. She chews both of them out for their role in the current zombie apocalypse and goes so far as to call them monsters for not doing anything to stop it.]]

[[folder: Kate]]
[[quoteright:224:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_kate.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:224:[[labelnote: Click here to see her [[spoiler: six years older]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_young_adult_kate.PNG[[/labelnote]]]]]]
A human child Glitter rescued from zombies. She's snarky and resourceful, but hides a lot of pain underneath her tough demeanor. [[spoiler: She is the fifth horseman Providence and is destined to end the apocalypse.]]
----
* ActionGirl: Despite being just a child she puts up a remarkable fight with her nailed bat. She's also pretty quick and nimble, making it difficult for opponents to get their hands on her.
** [[spoiler:Exaggerated after her stay in Underhill. Additionally to her already present badassery, she is now much more experienced and physically fit.]]
* BatterUp: Wields a nail-studded bat as her weapon of choice. [[spoiler: She later trades it for her sword.]]
* BraidsOfAction: [[spoiler: When she turns into Providence for the first time, her hair magically braids itself.]]
* TheChosenOne: The {{Hellhound}} is hunting her because she is the Catalyst, the human destined to end the apocalypse once and for all. [[spoiler: It's later on revealed that Kate is the fifth horseman Providence and that it's her destiny to slay the deserters Pestilence and Death.]]
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She's a blonde and despite her attitude, she deeply cares about her friends and is very protective of them. [[spoiler: She's even willing to enter a blood-pact with a vampire to keep them safe.]]
* HeroesPreferSwords: [[spoiler: As Providence she wields a special sword made from unicorn horn that is capable of wounding and killing other Horsemen.]]
* MouthyKid: Not afraid of speaking her mind to the adults.
* PlotRelevantAgeUp: [[spoiler:Due to the Underhill's time working in mysterious ways, Kate ages six years during her one week's stay there. When Blaze, Sprinkles and Pebble find her she's become a young adult.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: Not that she wasn't badass before, but [[spoiler: six years of wandering through Underhill certainly didn't make her weaker.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Blaze]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_blaze.PNG]]
A unicorn medic and old friend of Glitter. He has a very obvious crush on her that she is totally oblivious of.
----
* CantSpitItOut: Try as he might, he's too shy to confess his feelings to Glitter. [[spoiler: When it actually looks like he might by able to say these three little words after all in episode 69, Commander Sprinkles interrupts.]]
* CombatMedic: Despite being primarily trained to heal, his magic and sharp horn come in just as useful as his medical skills. He has a lot of BigDamnHeroes-moments throughout the comic that consist of him pulling everybody out of danger.
* DoggedNiceGuy: He's always by Glitter's side and willing to defend her with his life. But he just can't seem to get her to see him as more than just a friend.
* FieryRedhead: He has a reddish-orange mane and though he doesn't really show it around Glitter, he has quite the temper on him. With people who aren't her, he tends to be pretty harsh and he's prone to snapping when annoyed.
* GreenEyedMonster: He's intensely jealous of commander Sprinkles for being the object of Glitter's affection while he's been stuck in the friendzone for presumably years. [[spoiler: It gets worse when Sprinkles returns as a zombie and unintentionally interrupts Blaze's love confession to Glitter. Blaze falls into a jealous slump and becomes a real tool for the next few chapters.]]
* MeaningfulAppearance: His long mane tends to cover one of his eyes at all times. [[spoiler: The dragon burns it off in episode 86, signalling Blaze's character growth.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Grim / [[spoiler: Death]]]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_grim.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote: Click here to see [[spoiler: his true form as Death]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_death.PNG[[/labelnote]]]]]]
A hellhound who is after Kate. He ends up involuntarily joining the team when Glitter puts a magic collar on him. However, as the group travels on, he seems to develop some genuine fondness for them and Kate in particular. [[spoiler: Season 2 reveals he was actually the horseman Death in disguise.]]
----
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler: He finally commits to this in season 3 and resolves to go against Pestilence with Glitter.]]
* BecomingTheMask: [[spoiler: Despite their numerous ups and downs, his time as Grim has caused him to grow attached to Glitter, Kate and the rest of the group. So much so that he can't find it in himself to actually hurt them when he returns to Pestilence's side and eventually chooses to join them for real.]]
* DarkIsEvil: An all black creature of death who is introduced hunting down and trying to kill a little girl.
* DarkIsNotEvil: However, he starts to come around the longer he travels with Kate and the rest. [[spoiler: Ultimately culminating in him fully joining the good guys as Death.]]
* {{Hellhound}}: A black, canine hell-beast that hunts its victims to the ends of the earth and drags their souls down to hell. However, episode 37 shows he's also capable of sending souls to the afterlife in a more gentle manner. [[spoiler: Seeing as he's actually Death himself, of course he gets to decide how people go.]]
* FlatEarthAtheist: He keeps insisting that there ''is'' no fifth horseman and that Kate cannot possibly bring an end to the apocalypse. In a world where all sorts of mythical creatures and magic exist, the concept of an unknown fifth horseman isn't really as outlandish as he makes it out to be. [[spoiler: This despite the fact that Kate has already found her weapon (the sword) and that all signs point to her truly being a horseman. This attitude carries over into season 3, where Death keeps stubbornly insisting that there is no horseman named Providence and that only him and Glitter can bring an end to the apocalypse.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While he tends to lean more on the "jerk"-part most of the time for obvious reasons, as the story goes on the "heart of gold"-part begins to shine through more and more. It starts when he warns Glitter indirectly of the vampire-cult, even though he didn't have to, though he later insists he was just looking out for himself. Then he sets a group of zombiefied souls free, which is basically a MercyKill, and tells them to "be at peace". He also grows pretty close to and protective of Kate, to the point he's willing to go toe-to-toe with Blight to defend her. [[spoiler: He seemingly subverts the trope in season 2 when he lures Kate to a remote location in Bryce Canyon and tries to kill her and is then revealed to actually be Death when she manages to wound him and chase him off.]] [[spoiler: But then he re-establishes the trope when he chooses humanity and Glitter's group over Pestilence and their vengeance and decides to defect to the heroes' side for good in season 3.]]
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: [[spoiler: He's actually capable of taking a variety of forms, from hellhounds to seemingly ordinary crows.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler: It's ''really'' hard to talk about him without mentioning he's actually Death in disguise.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Silver]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_silver.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote: Click here to see him as War's steed]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_steed_silver.PNG[[/labelnote]]]]
An old hermit and War's former steed. He hates his former rider and has resolved to find a way to stop the apocalypse.
----
* AndIMustScream: If his flashback is any indication, he had no choice in becoming War's steed. He was only able to be himself again once War released him from his service.
* TheAtoner: He feels responsible for everything he and his rider did and sees finding a way to end the apocalypse as the least he can do to make up for it. [[spoiler: He also gives Kate his horn citing that reason when War and him perform a MutualKill.]]
* TheBigGuy: Could be considered this for Glitter's group, as he's the one with the strongest magic and is even able to fight a horseman to a near stand-still.
* BigGuyFatalitySyndrome: [[spoiler: The most powerful magic-user on the heroes's side and he dies at the end of season 1.]]
* CombatTentacles: How his magic mostly functions in combat.
* TheHermit: He lives alone in a cave in the woods and is a pretty strange individual. Blame War for that. Subverted, since he joins Glitter's group on their quest to find Death.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: After he realizes the wound War inflicted on him is fatal, he volunteers his horn to cure Kate's vampirism. When the others hesitate, he breaks it off himself, making him DeaderThanDead.]]
* ItsPersonal: He hates War for forcing him to be his steed and making him watch as entire nations tore each other apart because of them.
* LightIsGood: He is a white-silver unicorn and is looking for a way to end the apocalypse.
* MutualKill: [[spoiler: Manages to stab War fatally with his horn, but ends up being stabbed in turn.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When his eyes glow red, he's preparing to use some heavy magic on his enemies.
* SilverFox: He is a fair bit older than Blaze and Glitter, but the sirens seem to find him just as attractive as the human men they keep on their island. The group has to use blackmail to keep them from imprisoning him, too.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Sprinkles]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_sprinkles.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote: Click here to see him [[spoiler: as a zombie]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_zombie_sprinkles.PNG[[/labelnote]]]]]]
Glitter's and Blaze's former commander. He was believed lost after the fall of Yellowstone. [[spoiler: In reality, he'd been captured by Blight and used for the Sorceress's experiments. She managed to zombify him, but he retained his self-awareness.]]
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler: He retains his self-awareness while under the Sorceress's control, but can't resist her commands.]]
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: He returns as an intelligent zombie in episode 61. After Glitter, Kate and Blaze defeat the sorceress and break him out of her control, he becomes a part of Glitter's group again.]]
* BolivianArmyCliffhanger: The last we see of him in season 1 is him charging into a zombie-horde to lure them away from Glitter, Blaze and Kate. [[spoiler: Season 2 reveals he survived... sort of.]]
* DistressedDude: [[spoiler: The sorceress captured him after Yellowstone was overrun and turned him into an intelligent zombie. He is completely under her control and can't do anything about it, until Glitter and her friends manage to kill her and set him free.]]
* HorrorHunger: [[spoiler: As a zombie, he can only eat brains. Other food just goes straight through him.]]
* PrettyBoy: [[spoiler: Before his zombiefication]] he's consistently shown with BishieSparkles and Glitter seems to have a pretty big crush on him. [[spoiler: As an undead this is mitigated somewhat, but Glitter's feelings for him remain unchanged.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: While he has to make pretty tough decisions as a commander, he always takes care to be fair in them and hears everybody out. Though that doesn't mean that he'll let himself get pushed around.
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler: Kinda hard to talk about him without mentioning he returns in season 2.]]
[[/folder]]

!!The Four Horsemen
[[folder: In General]]
Otherworldly beings who are destined to end the world.
----
* BigBad: Barring Famine, all of them were so overwhelmed by their hatred for humanity that they decided to make them suffer instead of giving them a fresh start like they were supposed to. Pestilence engineered the zombie plague and has been upholding for years and years on end, while Death refuses to ride and bring an end to the apocalypse. While it's unknown how exactly War felt about humanity, seeing as he assisted Pestilence [[spoiler: until Silver killed him]] it can be inferred he was on their side.
* HorsemenOfTheApocalypse: Obviously. It was their job to end civilization through, well, wars, famines, plagues and deaths. War and Famine have already fulfilled their duties and are more or less free to do whatever they want now, while Death and Pestilence intentionally neglected theirs to make humanity pay for their crimes.
* HumanoidAbomination: They all take vaguely human appearances, but they are far from human.
* OneWingedAngel: When at full power, they can change from their regular into and even mightier and bigger form.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Famine]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_famine.PNG]]
The first horseman of the apocalypse. She's finished her job already and now hangs around in the human world. Barring the starving of the world, she seems to be a decent person.
----
* ArmorpiercingQuestion: [[spoiler: When Death tries to justify him and Pestilence's drawing out of the apocalypse by claiming that humans should suffer for destroying the planet, Famine points out that he and Pestilence are [[MoralMyopia doing very much the same.]]]]
-->'''Death:''' [[spoiler:Humans are incredibly selfish. They destroyed the planet in search of arbitrary wealth.]]\
'''Famine:''' [[spoiler: And what exactly is Pestilence doing?]]
* BenevolentBoss: Compared to the other horsemen, she and her steed seem to have the most amicable relationship. She let her go after she was done decimating crops and seeing as she still speaks fondly of her, they probably parted on good or at least civil terms. [[spoiler:Sunshine is even still willing to come when Famine calls, which she does when she's needed to talk to Glimmer, her niece.]]
* BigEater: The group first encounters her sitting on a huge pile of snacks that she continually munches on during their conversation. In all of her subsequent appearances she has a bag of chips or something similar with her. In an unusual example of this trope she's not greedy about the food she hoards and is willing to share if asked.
* FragileSpeedster: She's very hard to actually get a grip on thanks to her teleportation powers and her general agility. But she's so physically weak that it's easy to pin her down once you do.
* TheGadfly: She takes great joy in teasing whoever she encounters and it's rare for her to take anything or anyone seriously.
* GlassCannon: She can reduce any being to ashes with just a poke of her finger, but if you actually get the drop on her it's shockingly easy to take her down.
* LackOfEmpathy: She describes hungry people as "extremely whiny" and states that she's sick of them. Keep in mind ''she'' is the reason for their whining.
** Subverted later when [[spoiler:she admits that she regrets what she did to humanity, and didn't realize that so many people would die because of what she did.]]
* LeanAndMean: Subverted. She's disturbingly thin and can be very irritating to be around, but she's not actually evil, unlike [[spoiler: most of]] her colleagues.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She tends to get really up close and personal with everone she talks to, much to their discomfort.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: She has rows of razor-sharp teeth that make her smiles looks pretty disturbing.
* NothingButSkinAndBones: She's skeletal, seemingly having no meat on her at all. Which might explain why she's always chomping down on something when encountered.
* NothingPersonal: How she sees her part of the apocalypse, starving the world. [[spoiler: Subverted in season 3 when she admits to Death that it ''should've'' just been a job to her, but she came to regret all the deaths and sorrow she caused.]]
* OocIsSeriousBusiness: When she actually drops her jovial attitude, it's usually a sign to shut up and listen.
* SadClown: As spunky as she may act at all times, she actually feels deeply guilty for her act in the apocalypse and wants it to be completed already.
* {{Teleportation}}: One of her powers. She uses it primarily for dodging.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She is the only female horseman [[spoiler: if you don't count Kate.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: To the horsemen. She's the only one of them who did her job ''properly'' and bears humanity no ill will. She also frequently helps Glitter's group out with advice and is fully supportive of Kate [[spoiler: becoming Providence and finishing what Pestilence started.]] [[spoiler: In a rare moment of humility in season 3, she confesses to Death that she regrets what she did to humankind.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: War]]
[[quoteright:302:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_war.PNG]]
The second horseman of the apocalypse. He used to be Silver's rider, but released him after they had done their job.
----
* BadBoss: He selected and appointed Silver without caring whether Silver wanted to be his steed or not, then seemingly kept him under some form of brainwashing for the entirety of their act. [[spoiler: When they meet again he doesn't hesitate to attack and eventually kill his former steed.]]
* BloodKnight: Well he's ''War'' so it's only logical. [[spoiler: According to Pestilence he knew Silver was capable of killing him, but went into the fight anyway because "that is who War was."]]
* TheBrute: Pestilence seems to have mostly used him for heavier grunt-work and his fighting style consists solely of "punch it and stab it until it stops moving".
* DualWielding: Uses two enchanted smaller blades in his fight against Silver. [[spoiler: One of which he eventually manages to stab Silver fatally with.]]
* MutualKill: [[spoiler: Performs one with Silver in the season 1 finale. Both of them stab each other to death.]]
* PetTheDog: He let Silver go after their part of the apocalypse was finished, instead of trying to keep him for power like Pestilence did with Blight. [[spoiler: Though seeing as he apparently just wanted a good fight with him sometime in the future, the kindness in this act is debatable.]]
* RedIsViolent: He is War and his skin is rusty-red. Silver's fur changed to the same color when he served as his steed.
* SilentAntagonist: He never speaks a single word [[spoiler: even when he's mortally wounded. The most it gets out of him is a pained grunt.]]
* WeHardlyKnewYe: We barely know anything about him beyond what Silver tells the group. [[spoiler: And then him and Silver kill each other in his first appearance.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Pestilence]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_pestilence.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote: Click here to see him at full power]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_buff_pestilence.PNG[[/labelnote]]]]
The third rider of the apocalypse. He is responsible for the zombie plague. He believes humanity has done too much harm to be allowed to start over again and has dedicated himself to wipe them out.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It's not entirely clear if his relationship with the Unseelie Queen is merely business or something more. [[spoiler: Episode 107 confirms it was purely business on both ends, as the Unseelie Queen merely wanted his favor to protect her people and Pestilence just needed her power to become stronger.]]
* BerserkButton: Failing him and betraying him. He tells Blight in no uncertain terms that he better not mess up again when he fails to capture Kate and [[spoiler: becomes so furious when he finds out about Death secretly helping Glitter that he loses his temper and literally explodes.]]
* BigBad: [[spoiler: He become the sole main antagonist after War’s death and Famine and Death performing a HeelFaceTurn.]]
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: For someone so obsessed with loyalty, Pestilence seems to have none for anybody. [[spoiler: He's willing to kill Death immediately when the latter doesn't want to kill Glitter, he never intended to keep his promise to Blight/Starlight of making Glitter a zombie and thus immortal and he betrays the Unseelie Queen when she offers him a bargain by taking all of her magic instead of only part of it and then has her thrown out like trash.]]
* CrazyPrepared:
** Since Death could cancel out his powers in an instant if he decided to ride, Pestilence made sure to pull him to his side. [[spoiler: When Death refuses to kill his steed Glitter, Pestilence tries to kill him for good to ensure his victory.]]
** [[spoiler: He broke off Blight's horn, the only thing capable of hurting and killing him, just in case Blight ever decided to turn on him. He wears it around his neck to use as an emergency weapon.]]
* GreenAndMean: Has washed-out green tones as his primary colors, his magic is bright green and he's the ManBehindTheMan BigBad.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** He reacts badly when he finds one of his allies has turned against him, but he himself has a terminal ChronicBackstabbingDisorder and will break promises on a whim if it suits him to do so.
** He hates humans for driving he planet to ruin, but his zombie-plague is currently wreaking more havoc on Earth than humanity ever did.
* ILied: [[spoiler: Casually reveals to Blight that he was never planning on making Glitter immortal like he originally promised, since as Death's steed she's too big of a risk to keep alive.]]
* InTheHood: He wears a hood as part of his PlagueDoctor get-up.
* ItsAllAboutMe: While he claims to be doing what he's doing to preserve what little of the world is left, he obviously enjoys the power he currently holds and has developed a very clear god-complex. Really the only reason the apocalypse is still going is because he doesn't want to give up his throne.
* TheManBehindTheMan: He's the driving force behind the zombie plague and War and Death rebelling.
* PlagueDoctor: He takes the appearance of one, with the typical goggles and mask. Ironic, since he doesn't cure plagues, he creates them.
* SicklyGreenGlow: His magic often has this. Fitting, as sickness ''is'' his domain.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Death]]
The fourth horseman of the apocalypse. Due to him refusing to ride, the apocalypse has been drawn out.

[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote: Click here to see her as Famine's steed]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hod_steed_sunshine.PNG[[/labelnote]]]]
Famine's former steed, whom she released after her service. [[spoiler: She is still willing to come to her former rider's aid in an emergency though.]]
----
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: The only steed not horrifically warped by their rider, which is yet another sign that Famine is the horsemen's TokenGoodTeammate.
* EarlyBirdCameo: You can see both her normal and her steed-form in episode 39 in a flashback, when Famine tells Glitter and Kate about Kate's destiny. In episode 97 Famine name-drops her, before [[spoiler: she finally appears in person in episode 101.]]
* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:Is Glitter’s aunt]].
* NothingButSkinAndBones: As Famine's steed, she shared her rider's skeletal appearance. [[spoiler: The effect wore off after Famine released her from service, similar to Silver.]]
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler: She gets zombified and essentially dies during the fall of Haven.]]

Pestilence's steed. A unicorn trapped in undeath.
----
* BigBrotherInstinct: [[spoiler: Had this towards Glitter when he was still Starlight. When he noticed he had contracted the same illness their mother had, he ran away so she wouldn't have to watch him die. In a twisted sense, he retains this character trait even now: He serves Pestilence mostly because the latter promised to make Glitter immortal as well, by turning her into an intelligent zombie like he did him.]] [[spoiler: When Pestilence reveals he never intended to keep that promise, Blight immediately turns against him and helps his sister escape.]]
* CainAndAbel: Downplayed. [[spoiler: He doesn't want to ''kill'' his sister, but he does want her to be turned into a zombie, which is basically AFateWorseThanDeath.]]
* DirtyCoward: Downplayed. He tends to overpower most of his enemies magic-wise, but whenever it looks like he might actually be in trouble, he teleports away. [[spoiler: This character trait is also the reason he's currently serving Pestilence and let himself be zombie-fied. He was afraid of dying like his parents did, so he let Pestilence change him into a zombie.]]
* TheDragon: To his master, Pestilence. [[spoiler: At least until he turns on him in season 3.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Messed up as he may be now, both in body and mind, he still [[spoiler: cares for his sister Glitter. The main reason he went after her was so Pestilence could make her immortal as well. When Pestilence reveals he plans on killing her, Blight turns against his former master so that his sister can get away.]]
* GigglingVillain: Has a habit of breaking into a fit of mad laughter whenever he feels superior.
* HiddenDisdainReveal: [[spoiler: Calls Pestilence a "gigantic sack of rot" when turning against him and proclaims that he's been waiting to do that for a long time.]]
* OneWingedAngel: His steed-form, which is even more powerful than his regular form. It has him turn into a gigantic beast, capable of taking on a horseman.
* SlasherSmile: Most of the time he's wearing a deranged grin on his face.
* {{Teleportation}}: Has this ability and uses it mostly to get out of troublesome situations. Grim remarks that it's a rare ability among unicorns. [[spoiler: This is early foreshadowing that he's actually Glitter's long-lost brother Starlight, who had it as well.]]
* ThatManIsDead: [[spoiler: Seems to have abandoned his old name 'Starlight' completely for the new moniker of 'Blight'.]] [[spoiler: Glitter using his old name exclusively after she learns his true identity and him reacting when she calls him for help by it implies that he has accepted it as his true name again.]]
