!!Thunderwing
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RobinAtkinDownes, Thierry Mercier (French), Adolfo Pastor (Castilian Spanish)
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/primethunderwing_2345.png]]
Thunderwing was created by Unicron many eons ago to serve as his [[MythologyGag 'Herald']] and destroy the Matrix of Leadership. At some point Thunderwing was encased in a meteor made almost entirely out of Dark Energon and fell into a deep sleep. Thunderwing appears in the non-canon ''Transformers Prime'' [[VideoGame/TransformersPrimeTheGame video game]].

* AttackItsWeakPoint: [[spoiler:A small opening in his chest was exploited by Ratchet to take him down. After he was weakened, Optimus was able to destroy the reactors within Thunderwing's shoulders.]]
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: He's about as large to ordinary Cybertronians as an ordinary Cybertronian would be to a human.
* BigBad: He trumps over Megatron as the game's main antagonist, and his obsession with the Matrix kickstarts the game's conflict.
* CompositeCharacter: Of all the previous Thunderwings. His obsession with the Matrix is from his original Marvel appearance. His status as a Unicron Herald harkens from his role in the Armada comics, and him being a giant PersonOfMassDestruction bringing death to worlds is from IDW. Design wise he borrows cues from all of them.
* {{Determinator}}: He will not stop at anything to destroy the Matrix of Leadership, even if he has to burn out every last drop of Dark Energon in his reserves. [[spoiler:Having his weak spots exploited and being drained of power by Ratchet's device do ''absolutely'' nothing to deter him from completing his task.]]
* TheDragon: In that he's utterly loyal to Unicron.
* EliteMook: Unicron's only herald, at least in this continuity anyway.
* EvilIsHammy: He makes very bold declarations at the top of his voicebox from yelling to Optimus about being his doom, to [[spoiler:"thanking" Megatron in his most menacing voice ever while declaring his loyalties were to Unicron]].
* EvilSoundsDeep: Shares the same voice as his [[Creator/RobinAtkinDownes voice actor]]'s versions of [[WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes Abomination]] and [[WesternAnimation/ThunderCats2011 Mumm-Ra]]'s OneWingedAngel form.
* HumanoidAbomination: A Transformer created by [[EldritchAbomination Unicron]] with great resemblance to regular Cybertronians but bigger.
* TheJuggernaut: His immense size and Dark Energon empowerment means that the only way to successfully hurt him is to AttackItsWeakPoint.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:He is killed when he is sent plunging into a magma pit, triggering a volcanic eruption of Dark Energon.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: For the video game he stars in. Whenever he appears, all forms of comedy are thrown out the window while the scene unfolds, underlining the humongous threat he poses to all, especially Optimus.
* MightyGlacier: Rather slow in speed, but when he attacks, he hits like a falling meteor.
* NotQuiteDead: He was essentially ''dead'' when Optimus first encountered him, before [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Ratchet's tinkering]] jostled him back to consciousness.
* OneManArmy: Able to damage the ''Nemesis'' and make quick work out of Optimus' team solo (though the Autobots survive).
* TerseTalker: When he speaks, it's only to get straight to the heart of the point.
* UndyingLoyalty: His loyalty to his master and creator is unquestionable.

!Autobots

!! Airwave
Watching his world die around him has been tough on Airwave. The uncompromising commander of the outpost town of Last Spark, he feels betrayed by the Autobot high command, and subscribes strongly to the theory that the ends justify the means.

!! Chromia

!! Scrounge

!! Impactor
Impactor is the commander of the Wreckers: both the figurative and, as the center of the colossal Ruination, literal heart of the team. As such, he values every member of his handpicked group, and hates to see it when they fall in battle. Nevertheless, he has led his men into impossible situations time and time again, knowing that his unit is the best the Autobots have. If they can't get it done, no one can—after all, Wreckers don't call for backup, they call for clean-up.

He combines with several of his fellow Wreckers to form Ruination.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: Dies somewhere between ''Rage of the Dinobots'' comic and the cartoon.

!!Grimlock

* {{BFS}}: His weapon when not in Dinobot form is an enormous sword.
* TheBerserker: He was already like this before he became a Dinobot. After becoming a Dinobot, he's one of the most destructive and powerful Cybertronian warriors alive.
* HulkingOut: His ability to transform is tied to his anger.
* ImAHumanitarian: Not him personally, but he's been known to tear into his enemies and swallow body parts in his T.Rex form. It's how Shockwave lost his left arm.
* ItsPersonal: With Shockwave, due to him being the one responsible for turning him into a Dinobot. Unlike the other members of his team, Grimlock was awake and fully conscious whilst his body was torn apart and reassembled in his new form and remembers every single painful moment of it.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Short tempered and violent. Finds himself at odds with other Autobots often. But otherwise is firmly a heroic character.
* TheJuggernaut: One of the most powerful Cybertronians alive. In his Tyrannosaurus form, he's even stronger.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: The leader of the Dinobots and the strongest one of the bunch.

!!Swoop

* [[spoiler:BrainwashedAndCrazy: In ''Rage of the Dinobots''.]]

!!Slug

!!Snarl

!!Sludge

!!Firestar

* ActionGirl

!! Zoom

!Decepticons

!!Ser-Ket

* DarkActionGirl: A female Decepticon who butts front fender with the Autobots.
* TheDragon: To Shockwave in ''Rage of the Dinobots''.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:Courtesy of Grimlock.]]
* PaletteSwap: Of fellow Predacon Ripclaw.

!! Vehicon 367

!! Tantrum
A Predacon clone created by Starscream furing the timeframe Predaking was a Decepticon. [[DependingOnTheWriter Alternatively]], he was already around during ''Transformers: Retribution'' and msy not have been created by Starscream. Transforms into a bull.

!! Snaptrap
Snaptrap is the leader of the Decepticon Seacons. With his underlings, he can form Piranacon.
* PosthumousCharacter: Was already dead before the comic.

!! Sharpshot
Sharpshot is the leader of the Insecticons. He's extremely arrogant and sadistic, but cowardly whenever things don't go his way. He really likes electrocuting things, and seems to gain some sort of pleasure from it akin to a human taking drugs.

!! Piranacon
Piranacon is the combined form of the Decepticon Seacons. Piranacon was hiding out in Devil's Cove for several years after the Seacons' ship crashed there, killing their leader, Snaptrap. Severely damaged and lacking a leader, Piranacon's intelligence was severely limited, and he resorted to destroying ships to use as spare parts.

!! Fearstorm
Fearstorm is bigger than most Vehicons. His size lends him both brawn and bravado, though it also makes him slow moving. He has little respect for Starscream, whom he regards as Megatron's lap dog at best.

!! Blackout
Blackout is a battle-hardened gladiator who joined Megatron's Decepticons in the war against the Autobots.

[[folder: Toy-line Characters]]

As Transformers is a MerchandiseDriven series, ''Prime'' of course has a number of characters exclusive to toy-lines and secondary media.

!Autobots

!! Trailcutter

!! Wolfang
* HeroesPreferSwords: He carries a sword in hand and fights with it.
* NobleWolf: His altmode is a wolf.

!! Prowl
* PaletteSwap: His both toys are redecos of a Smokescreen toy.

!! Mirage
An Autobot who also appears in the novel ''Transformers: Retribution''.

!! Evac

!!Hot Shot
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Jason Jansen
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hotshot_567.png]]

A young Autobot with enthusiasm and speed to spare, Hot Shot is constantly rushing off into dangerous situations. Though he has a lot of potential, he often has to be rescued by others and has a lot to learn before he can become a leader.

Hot Shot appears in the Botcon 2013 script reading, where he's forced to endure Kup's telling a tale of past adventures.
----
* CompositeCharacter:
** A unique case, in that he's a composite of two versions of the ''same person.'' Hot Shot's design is based on the character from ''Anime/TransformersArmada'', but his colors are derived from the body he had during ''Anime/TransformersCybertron''.
** He may also be [[Franchise/TransformersAlignedUniverse this continuity's]] version of [[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Hot Rod]], as he shares a name with an Autobot based on him in the Nintendo DS version of ''VideoGame/TransformersWarForCybertron''.
* CoolCar: Same alternate mode as Bumblebee's, but blue and with slick flame decals.
* DeadpanSnarker: Most of his lines in the script reading are this, along with cutting remarks about how Kup is choosing to tell his story.
* GogglesDoNothing: He has a pair of flip-down robo-goggles; these are another trait carried over from his ''Armada'' incarnation.
* KidAppealCharacter: Much like his [[Anime/TransformersArmada previous incarnation]]. This time, he's a ''remold'' of Bumblebee, the show's Kid Appeal Character.

!!Kup
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Wally Burr
[[quoteright:292:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kup_207.png]]

An old Autobot who always seems to have advice for the youngsters. Not even the worst of situations will keep him from dispensing his wisdom, even if it means getting through a firefight. As such, many young Autobots have come to believe he's immune to laser fire.

In the Botcon 2013 script reading, Kup is revealed to have been one of the Wreckers, whereupon he relates a story to Hot Shot in which he worked with Wheeljack to stop one of Shockwave's schemes.
----
* {{BFG}}: Both of his cannons can combine into a larger weapon.
* CompositeCharacter: His design was obviously based on Ironhide (especially given the Asian release of the mold AS Ironhide) but the color scheme and personality given is classic Kup.
%%* CoolCar: A truck in this case.
%%* CoolOldGuy
* DrillSergeantNasty: His toy's official moniker is "Sergeant Kup", so he's this at least in title form.
* MemeticBadass: In-universe; new recruits believe that he's immune to laser fire.
* PaletteSwap: His toy uses the same mold as Ironhide.
* TheStoryteller: Fulfills this role in the Botcon 2013 script reading, just as his [[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Generation 1]] counterpart did.
%%* TheUnfettered

!!Ironhide
[[quoteright:234:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ironhide_944.png]]

Ironhide is the kind of guy whose always ready for a fight. As tough and hard-edged as they come, Ironhide has made his name by blasting Decepticon after Decepticon to pieces. Of course, this may be partly due to the fact that his armor is impervious to laser fire.
----
* {{BFG}}: His Cyberverse toy's cannons can combine into one. Ironhide's deluxe-sized toy ''would'' share this trait with Kup, but due to being released in the "Arms Micron" line, he only comes with his partner Iro, who combines into a single cannon.
* CompositeCharacter: His red color scheme is based on his [[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 ''Generation 1'' counterpart]], but he wields two cannons similar to the [[Film/TransformersFilmSeries live-action movie version]] of the character.
%%* CoolCar: A truck in this case.
%%* GunNut
%%* MadeOfIron
%%* TriggerHappy

!!Fallback
[[quoteright:244:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fallback_7869.png]]

Before the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, Fallback sought out new worlds for Cybertronians to colonize. Now, he puts those same talents towards locating planets of strategic importance to the Autobots, while also determining how best to use their resources and environment in the struggle against the Decepticons.
----
%%* BoldExplorer
* NonActionGuy: His bio makes no mention of participating in any actual battles, just that he spends his time seeking out new worlds and determining their worth to the war effort.
* PaletteSwap: He's a redeco of Breakdown's ''Cyberverse'' toy, only as an Autobot.

!!Swerve

Swerve is a geologist, spending most of his time alone, scouting out new Energon deposits and reporting them back to the base. As such, he's lost in his thoughts a lot... which can be pretty dangerous, as he tends to let his mind wander in traffic. Nevertheless, he's a brilliant scientist.

Swerve is also one of the few Cybertronians aware of the existence of the Arms Microns, and has since promised to protect their secret. He's joined in his travels by his own Micron, Sou, who keeps him company in his lonely travels. [[note]]As the Arms Microns only exist in the Japanese version of Prime, take this as you will.[[/note]]
----
%%* AttentionDeficitOohShiny
* ChainsawGood: Sou turns into a circular saw, and thus it's his main weapon.
%%* DrivesLikeCrazy
* LonersAreFreaks: Averted. His being alone is a boon to the Autobots, as far as his bio goes.
%%* SecretKeeper

!!Leo Prime
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leoprime_3732.png]]

A Cybertronian from [[Anime/BeastWarsII another dimension]], Leo Prime sensed the awakening of Unicron in this reality and came to assist in stopping him. However, once he arrived, he discovered that Unicron had already been dealt with by the Autobots and Decepticons. Nevertheless, he has elected to remain in this dimension and observe the conflict, remaining on the sidelines and waiting to see if Unicron would ever reawaken.
----
* CoolSword: His sword draws power directly from his Energon Matrix. Oh, and it's also an [[LivingWeapon Arms Micron]]. In one Asian-exclusive bio, he uses the sword to carve a set of armor out of one of Unicron's avatars, severing its connection to the big guy in the process.
%%* DimensionalTraveller
* MythologyGag: His Arms Micron, L.P., is based on Moon, the PluckyComicRelief from ''Anime/BeastWarsII''.
* NonActionGuy: As stated, he's staying out of the Autobot and Decepticon war and is just waiting to see if Unicron will wake up again.
* PaletteSwap: Of Thundertron. Again, see below.
%%* PantheraAwesome
* ShoutOut: As in the series he comes from, Leo's color-scheme is an homage to ''Manga/KimbaTheWhiteLion''.
* TookALevelInBadass: His bio states that after the events of ''Anime/BeastWarsNeo'', Leo Prime ascended to the rank of "Grand Convoy"; that is, the leader of ''all'' the Maximals.
* {{Transplant}}: Leo Prime isn't a {{Expy}} of the Lio Convoy from ''Anime/BeastWarsII'', he's the actual character, having transported himself to the ''Transfomers Prime'' universe from the Japanese ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars'' timeline.
%%* WeirdBeard

!Decepticons

!! Bludgeon
Bludgeon is a skilled samurai and master of the martial artist. One of the universe's most feared warriors, the dreaded spark hunter ambushes his Autobots enemies on the battlefield[1] with a sword handed down from legends.

!! Bombshock
A background Insecticon in the show who for some reason got his own toy.
* AllThereInTheManual: His name is only mentioned in the end credits.

!!Dead End
[[quoteright:215:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deadend_4825.png]]

Dead End used to be a talkative mercenary, but long-time exposure to Dark Energon has significantly affected his state of mind. Now, he broods silently, hungering for the power cores of those around him. Whereas before only Autobots were scared of him, now Dead End even freaks out his fellow ''Decepticons''.
----
* BrightIsNotGood: His color-scheme invokes hazard warnings.
%%* CoolCar
* CompositeCharacter: Dead End's bio combines his ''[[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Generation 1 counterpart's]]'' brooding personality with the [[Film/TransformersFilmSeries movieverse's]] psychotic vampire-bot.
* TheCorruption: Dead End's been on the receiving end of it.
* DualWielding: Being a remold of Wheeljack, he carries two swords.
%%* HiredGuns
* ImAHumanitarian: As shown by his hunger for the power cores of his fellow mechanoids.
* LaserBlade: His packaging calls out both of his toy's swords as this.
* LonersAreFreaks: Literally, in this case.

!!Flamewar
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flamewar_2641.png]]

Airachnid isn't the only female Decepticon eager to get her hooks into Arcee. However, whereas Airachnid is merely content to torment her rival when the opportunity arises, Flamewar is downright ''obsessed''. She's been planning for their final battle for years, studying every one of Arcee's moves and devising a way to counter them. Though she remains loyal to Megatron, Flamewar's every move is calculated to draw Arcee tighter into her web of intrigue.
----
* CanonImmigrant: Based on the convention-exclusive character from 2005, Flamewar, who was a redeco of a [[Anime/TransformersEnergon different series' version of Arcee]]. Fittingly, this version of Flamewar is also the subject of a convention-exclusive deluxe toy in 2014.
%%* CoolBike
* MythologyGag: Her packaging calls her weapon a "friction rifle", which was the weapon of Runamuck from the original cartoon series.
* PaletteSwap: Of Arcee.

!!Skywarp
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skywarp_5538.png]]

Skywarp may look just like Starscream, but unlike his counterpart, he has no designs on Megatron's position. Rather, Skywarp prefers to remain in the shadows, using his teleportation ability and ninja-like cunning in order to menace the Autobots. He's also rather mischievous.
----
* AdaptationalIntelligence: While most incarnations of Skywarp are generally idiots, ''this'' version of Skywarp is actually quite intelligent, possessing a high intelligence stat and specifically mentioned as being rather cunning. The [=TFWiki=] gives a baffled What the '''hell?''' at him possessing a intelligence stat of 10. Evidently, whoever write his bio confused him with his live action movie incarnation, who was a scientist.
%%* CoolPlane
* GratuitousNinja: His bio makes him out to be one, ''and'' one of his Arms Micron's weapon modes is a FuumaShuriken.
* PaletteSwap: Just as is the case with ''most'' incarnations of Skywarp, he's a redeco of Starscream's "First Edition" toy, albeit with added Arms Micron functionality and missile pods on his wings.
%%* TeleportersAndTransporters
* ThisIsADrill: His Arms Micron's ''other'' weapon mode.
%%* TheTrickster

!!Thundercracker
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/JamesHoran
[[quoteright:211:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thundercracker_5298.png]]

Unlike the power-hungry Starscream and the mischievous Skywarp, Thundercracker would best be described as a mild-mannered intellectual. Though he is capable of producing sonic booms at will, he would rather be in his laboratory than on the battlefield. Thundercracker is often troubled by the actions of Decepticons like Megatron and Shockwave, but he nonetheless gives his all for the Decepticon cause.

Thundercracker appears in the Botcon 2013 script reading, where he is a scientist working under Shockwave in order to help him finish his project to develop laser cores that will allow the transfer of sparks between Decepticon bodies.
----
* AntiVillain: To a degree; like his [[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Generation 1 counterpart]], Thundercracker isn't always happy with the actions of his fellow Decepticons. That doesn't keep him from showing some {{Jerkass}} tendencies in the script reading, nor does it keep him from being rather eager to scrap some Autobots.
%%* CoolPlane
%%* LoudOfWar
* PaletteSwap: Uses the same version of the "First Edition" Starscream mold as Skywarp.
* ThisIsADrill: His Arms Micron is basically the same as Skywarp's, meaning it also doubles as a FuumaShuriken.

!!Rumble
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Greg Sepelak
[[quoteright:234:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rumble2_1776.png]]
[[caption-width-right:250:Rumble is Blue, and... Rumble is Red?]]

Rumble isn't a complicated robot. He lives for causing mayhem and mischief, using his pile drivers to cause destructive earthquakes. They're pretty powerful too; strong enough to open chasms, wreck Autobots, and bring down entire buildings. He is one of Soundwave's subordinates, and is often found working with his brother, Frenzy.

In the Botcon 2013 script reading, Frenzy and Rumble are the guinea pigs for Shockwave's transferable laser core project, thus explaining how they went from the small, Mini-Con sized bodies in ''[[VideoGame/TransformersWarForCybertron War For Cybertron]]'' and ''[[VideoGame/TransformersFallOfCybertron Fall Of Cybertron]]'' to the larger bodies they have in the toyline.
----
* BashBrothers: With Frenzy.
* BodySurf: In the Botcon 2013 script reading, he and his brother are transferred from Mini-Con sized bodies to Decepticon-sized ones, and then put back in their originals. They decide they'll just keep the big ones in a closet or something later on.
%%* CoolCar
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: In ''[[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Generation 1]]'', Rumble and his counterpart Frenzy were InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals. However, for ''Prime'', he was given his own head design, with a ''Generation 1'' inspired alternate head presumably intended for a Frenzy release later on. Averted in the "Arms Micron" line, however, where both Frenzy and Rumble are used with the alternate head, making them identical {{Palette Swap}}s of one another again.
%%* EarthquakeMachine
* MythologyGag: His chest and torso are meant to evoke the cassette tape spools of his ''Generation 1'' counterpart. However, to most fans, they end up looking like 'eyes' and a face, making some compare him to the Gunmen of ''[[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Gurren Lagann]]''.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Referred to as such in his Arms Micron biography.

!!Frenzy
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Greg Sepelak
[[quoteright:288:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/frenzy_6996.png]]
[[caption-width-right:288:Frenzy, however, is just blue!]]

Rumble's brother, who also works under Soundwave. In contrast to his superior officer, Frenzy is talkative and cheeky. Furthermore, Frenzy tends to fly into a rage whenever someone mistakes him for his brother, Rumble. He can use his weapons to create high-frequency soundwaves that disrupt enemy circuitry. He often undertakes operations with Rumble and Laserbeak.

----
* BerserkButton: Being confused for Rumble.
* BodySurf: In the Botcon 2013 script reading, he and his brother are transferred from Mini-Con sized bodies to Decepticon-sized ones, and then put back in their originals. They decide they'll just keep the big ones in a closet or something later on.
%%* BrattyHalfpint
%%* CoolCar
%%* HairTriggerTemper
%%* LoudOfWar
* MistakenIdentity:
** His biography mentions he's often mistaken for Rumble. This could be considered LampshadeHanging on the FlipFlopOfGod and "FIRRIB[=/=]RIRFIB" matter mentioned above.
** Taken to extremes in the Botcon 2013 script reading, where not even Rumble and Frenzy ''both'' are quite sure which is Rumble or which is Frenzy. See Rumble's article above for details.
%%* MotorMouth
* MythologyGag: Same as Rumble; his chest is designed to resemble his ''[[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Generation 1]]'' counterpart's tape spools.

!!Wildrider
[[quoteright:255:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wildrider_6835.png]]

A Decepticon soldier who served in the same "Stunticon" unit as Breakdown. Even for a Decepticon, Wildrider is especially violent, and even Megatron has trouble controlling him. He doesn't work well with others, and is more content acting on his own. Just as Breakdown was rivals with Bulkhead, Wildrider has an enmity with the Wrecker Wheeljack, and as such, has taken on a similar vehicle mode as part of an effort to settle the score.
----
* ArchEnemy: The Breakdown to Wheeljack's Bulkhead.
%%* TheBerserker
%%* CoolCar
* DressingAsTheEnemy: A non-disguise related example; he adopts a similar vehicle mode simply to counter Wheeljack.
* DualWielding: Being a remold of Wheeljack, he carries two swords.
* MythologyGag:
** His bio reveals that he and Breakdown were both "Stunticons", much like their ''[[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Generation 1]]'' counterparts.
** The sticker sheet his toy comes with includes a few stickers based on the Stunticon logo created for the [=BotCon=] 2011 ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'' set.

Thundertron has a deep hatred of Cybertronians, who caused the destruction of his world. Swearing vengeance, he serves as the leader of the "Star Seekers", a roving band of pirates that seek to make Autobot and Decepticon alike pay for their crimes.

* HandicappedBadass: ''Exiles'' depicts him as having replaced one of his legs with a metallic strut; you can thus give his toy [[SeaDogPegLeg a traditional pirate peg leg]] by removing one of his feet and attaching it to his arm.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: Pirate, check. Robot, check. Transforms into a robotic lion, check check check.
* OutsideContextProblem: His faction, the "Star Seekers" are the first non-Autobot or Decepticon group to get their own faction symbol since [[WesternAnimation/BeastWars the Maximals and Predacons]], and he's not involved in either side of the war. On top of that, he's some kind of transforming robotic life-form that ''doesn't'' originate from Cybertron.
** AllThereInTheManual: Later behind the scenes information would help clear this up: Thundertron is actually from one of Cybertron's thirteen colony worlds, although which one is not stated (his beast mode suggests Jungle Planet/Eukaris). When his planet was left abandoned and destroyed as a result of the Rust Plague, he blamed Cybertron's people for it. Each member of the Star Seekers is from one of the destroyed colonies, and they all want revenge.

"Experiment #[=SW57525=]", or "Lazerback" is one of the most dangerous of all the Predacons. Managing to extract himself from his Hyperevolution Chamber on his own accord, Lazerback is incredibly intelligent and tricksy. He would also like nothing more than to see both the Autobots ''and'' the Decepticons destroyed, earning him the ire of his creator, Shockwave. His only master is chaos, and he would rather go offline before he swore loyalty to Megatron or Predaking.

In Hasbro's "Tales of the Beast Hunters" storyline, which serves as an AlternateContinuity to the events of season three, Lazerback managed to sabotage a battle between Megatron, Predaking, and the Autobots over an ancient ship containing numerous weapons, leading to the Decepticon leader being incapacitated and believed dead. Later, he attempted to turn Ripclaw against the Autobots and Decepticons by telling her Predaking was dead.
----

%%* ChaosIsEvil
%%* ConsummateLiar
* ForTheEvulz: Lazerback's only true master is his desire to cause destruction.
* ManipulativeBastard: Manages to incapacitate Megatron, turn Ripclaw on the Autobots, and set up Predaking's own rebellion later on in "Tales of the Beast Hunters." By the end of things, Starscream is on the run, the Predacons are rebelling, and Shockwave and Knock Out are leaving for Cybertron. [[KarmaHoudini He pretty much gets away with all of it]].
* MeaningfulName: His weapon comes out of his back. Get it?
* MyNaymeIs: "''Lazer''back"? You'd think that a "laser"/"razorback" pun would come out differently.
* PoisonousPerson: His weapon is described as a "Toxic Strike Blaster".
* TheStarscream: To both Predaking and Megatron. His actions towards them in "Tales of the Beast Hunters" end up putting the real Starscream in hot water, as they believe he was responsible.
* TailSlap: His tail can be mounted on his arm like a whip.

!!Ripclaw
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ripclaw01_6764.png]]

"[=Experiment #SW13334=]", or "Ripclaw", is so devoted to her fellow Predacons it's almost maternal. Backing up that protectiveness is a variety of poisons and her powerful stinging tail, as well as her incredible speed on land and air. She will follow orders without question, so long as they're delivered in a way that makes them seem as though they were in the best interests of the Predacons.

In Hasbro's "Tales of the Beast Hunters" storyline, which serves as an AlternateContinuity to the events of season three, Ripclaw is brought on-line in order to help Predaking, only to be approached by Lazerback, who tries to tell her of Shockwave's "treachery" of Predaking's supposed destruction. Later, she encountered Bulkhead, incapacitating him with her powerful mech-venom. Later, she was sighted by Arcee, who gave her coordinates to the Decepticons in hopes that they would take out the rogue dragon-bot.

* DesignatedGirlFight: [[AvertedTrope Averted]]. Arcee chooses not to fight her, instead opting to set Ripclaw up.

Designated "Experiment #[=SW21984=]". Intelligent, thoughtful, and logical, Skystalker is a Predacon after his creator Shockwave's own spark. His weapons are freezing breath that can crystallize Autobot armor, and his razorsharp "Cryostrike Disk Launchers." His cold mind mirrors his icy powers, but at times Skystalker's logical demeanor breaks down and his emotions get the better of him.

In Hasbro's "Tales of the Beast Hunters" storyline, which serves as an AlternateContinuity to the events of season three, Skystalker awoke from his Hyperevolution Chamber in the midst of a battle between Shockwave and Smokescreen. After realizing he was in a laboratory where he and his fellow Predacons were being experimented upon, he flew into a rage and attacked both combatants.

!!Grimwing and Blackbeak

Grimwing, aka "Experiment #[=SW39978=]", is a bit different from other Predacons. Though he is as strong willed and nearly as powerful as Predaking himself, Grimwing has what many other Predacons lack: a sense of honor. He finds his fellow Predacons' behavior disgraceful, and is determined to put a stop to his own kind's heinous behavior. His partner is Blackbeak, a strange, bird-like creature that was generated in the same experiment as Grimwing himself. Unlike Grimwing, Blackbeak is a seething ball of aggression and hate, but he remains loyal to his larger counterpart.

In Hasbro's "Tales of the Beast Hunters" storyline, which serves as an AlternateContinuity to the events of season three, Grimwing escaped from Shockwave's cloning facility, only to run afoul of Ultra Magnus. Believing Grimwing to be like the other Predacons, Magnus attacked him, earning him Grimwing's wrath. After defeating the Autobot, he decried all modern Cybertronians as savages, and set out to stop his fellow Predacons himself.

!!Vertebreak

Though all Predacons are a bit more "beast" than "machine", "Experiment #[=SW26673=]" Vertebreak is a special case. He rarely ever talks, always stays in beast mode, and follows his master Shockwave around like a pet rusthound. While Shockwave finds his loyalty endearing, he tires of the Predacon's ceaseless attention.

In Hasbro's "Tales of the Beast Hunters" storyline, which serves as an AlternateContinuity to the events of season three, Vertebreak and an unidentified second Predacon were transported to Cybertron by Shockwave and Knock Out when they resolved to escape the chaos on Earth.
----
* TheHyena: Invoked in the name of his gun, the "Hyena Cannon".
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: To Shockwave.
* PaletteSwap: A redeco of Lazerback.
* PantheraAwesome: In addition to being dragon-like, he's got tiger-like stripes all over his body.
* TheQuietOne: Barely ever talks, being more beast-like than robot.
* TailSlap: Being a redeco, he shares Lazerback's tail weapon.

!!Twinstrike

Twinstrike, otherwise known as "Experiment #[=SW81617=]", is the result of Shockwave accidentally replacing the gene for his tail with one for an extra head. Though Shockwave expected him to be twice as intelligent, all it did was make him twice as angry and halve his capacity for patience. Twinstrike is one of the five Predacons that comprise Abominus, transforming into one of the arms respectively.
----
* {{Bowdlerize}}: He's based on the [=G1=] Terrorcon Sinnertwin, but has a much more politically correct name.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: The attempt to make him smarter by giving him an extra head.
* HairTriggerTemper: "Twice as angry and half as patient".
* {{Hellhound}}: The original Sinnertwin was based on an Orthrus, a hellhound from Greek Mythology. Though Twinstrike was reimagined as a dragon, it still reflects elements of this in his design.

* PaletteSwap: A red version of him shows up in Hasbro's "Hunt the Beasts" on-line game.

!!Hun-Gurrr

Though other Predacons look to him as a leader, Hun-Gurrr, or "Experiment #[=SW14596=], is only concerned with where he might find his next meal. Unlike Twinstrike, giving him two heads does seem to have increased his intelligence, but it also increased his fixation upon eating. As such, Shockwave has decided not to create anymore two-headed monsters. Hun-Gurrr is one of the five Predacons that comprise Abominus, becoming the core of larger robot's combined mode.
----
* BigEater: Shockwave only made it worse by adding a second head.
* ChainsawGood: His toy comes with a "Dragontooth Saw", which is a gun with a chainsaw blade attached to it ala a bayonet.
* MultipleHeadcase: Shockwave's ''last'' creation like this, after putting up with Hun-Gurrr and Twinstrike.
* MythologyGag: Based on the [=G1=] Terrorcon of the same name.
* NoteToSelf: "Note to self, no more two headed monsters", from Shockwave's write-up about him in the ''Beast Hunters'' guidebook.
* ShoutOut: In addition to being based on the [=G1=] character, Hun-Gurrr also resembles a red version of Ghidorah from the ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}'' franchise.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Hun-Gurrr's name is just one of many alternative spellings to be applied to different versions of the character that have appeared in various media, with "Hun-Grr", "Hun-Gar", and "Hun-Garr" being other examples.

!!Windrazor

A Predacon with huge potential, "Experiment #[=SW89562=], or "Windrazor", is notable for being airborne and aggressive. He enjoys combat and follows orders without question or imagination, which are all traits Megatron sees as valuable in a soldier. Windrazor's name is apt, as his wings are razor-sharp, and he is also skilled with ranged weaponry as well. Windrazor is one of the five Predacons that comprise Abominus, with Windrazor becoming one of the combiner's arms.

* EpicFlail: The weapon his larger toy comes with.
* MythologyGag: As with all of the Predacons that comprise Abominus, Windrazor is based on a [=G1=] Terrorcon. In his case, he's based on "Cutthroat".
%%* RazorWings

!!Rippersnapper
While "Experiment #[=SW22568=]", aka Rippersnapper, is one of the smartest of the Predacons. As such, his greatest weapon is his mouth. Preferring to fire insults rather than engage in dialogue, he is as quick to demoralize his enemies as he is to violently attack them. When he does fight, he applies more cunning than most, leading Shockwave to conclude that he should make future Predacons less intelligent. Rippernsapper is one of the five Predacons that comprise Abominus, with Rippersnapper himself forming one of the combiner's legs.
----
* AutomaticCrossbow: His toy's weapon, called a "Electrocharge Bow".

Upon being released from his chamber, he nearly destroyed Shockwave's lab. Still, he's easily manipulated and too stupid to follow complex instructions... making him the perfect grunt for the Decepticon army. Blight is one of the five Predacons that comprise Abominus, with Blight himself forming one of the combiner's legs.

* PaletteSwap: He received a red redeco in the ''Predacons Rising'' toyline.
* ThePigPen: His name suggests this, much like Blot's personality in [=G1=].
* WritingAroundTrademarks: Hasbro no longer owns the trademark to the name "Blot", necessitating this version's name being changed to "Blight".

!!Abominus

Abominus is result of a grievous oversight on Shockwave's part; he believed that giving Hun-Gurrr, Twinstrike, Windrazor, Rippersnapper the ability to combine would make them ''easier'' to control. Predictably, it only succeeded in doing the ''exact opposite''. Abominus is capable of nothing more than the destruction of all around him, and he has more than enough power to do it.

Within such closed quarters however, the combiner's size proved more of a detriment than an asset allowing Megatron to expel them from his ship, seriously injuring them in the process.

The time were repaired when Sideswipe brought the Ark down to the Quintesson city of Hydratron to rescue Optimus Prime and the others. The five fliers initially provided cover fire for their capital ship before they again combined into Superion to fight off the Sharkticon hordes. When the Autobots and Decepticons formed a shaky alliance against their mutual foes, the Ark was forced to physically tow the damaged Nemesis back to orbit with Superion providing the boost necessary to get the clamped ships airborne. When the warships had reached orbit however, the truce was declared over with the Aerialbots decombining and entering the Ark which set a course deeper into the Orion Arm.

Fireflight's fascination with the natural beauty of his surroundings causes him to be distracted enough to severely impair his gunnery skills. He makes up for this with copious amounts of flak, hoping that will prevent the enemy from advancing. This tendency to waste most or all of his ammunition left him with no defense against his remaining enemies enough times that Perceptor threw up his hands in exasperation and made him a giant sword.

To say that the two Autobots named Rack and Ruin have anger issues might be something of an understatement. Autobot prisoners of war press-ganged into building Shockwave's latest tower in the occupied city of Iacon, the duo were unwillingly used as guinea pigs for one of Shockwave's less successful experiments, merging the two together into a single, permanently conjoined Transformer nicknamed Rack n' Ruin. 661* KillAndReplace: [[VoluntaryShapeshifting Makeshift]] kills him in order to take his place.

!! Prima
After Solus Prime created the Requiem Blaster for Megatronus, debate erupted among the Thirteen over whether so powerful a weapon should be allowed to exist. When the argument threatened to turn violent, Prima called for a vote on the matter; Megatronus won by one vote.

When Optimus Prime received the Matrix from the core of Cybertron, he recognized it as the jewel from the hilt of Prima's Star Saber. Upon accepting the talisman into himself, Optimus had a vision of all its previous holders, all the way back to Prima himself.

!! Pinion
The scrap trader Pinion has never felt entirely at home on the world of Junkion. Nevertheless, the quiet Junkion does his best to work hard and fit in

!! Mainspring
Mainspring is a mechanic, usually content to work in the pits of Velocitron. He sometimes yearns for other challenges on other worlds. He particularly likes to measure things, especially time. Except that he isn't just a mechanic. He is, in fact, one fifth of an ancient, legendary combiner Nexus Prime.

!! Maccadam
The manager of an inn called Maccadam's Old Oil House. Supposedly one of the oldest known Cybertronians, Maccadam was alive during the planet's Golden Age, and had operated his bar for almost that long; for whatever reasons, he chose to keep his identity a secret from the bar's patrons. While it was assumed that he was one of the staff, the mysterious Maccadam was, in fact, the bar's piano player. Early into the Great War, Maccadam did business with Autobots, Decepticons, and neutrals alike, but when Optimus Prime and his Autobots departed Cybertron, Maccadam refused to keep doing open business with the Decepticons and closed his bar, finding work with Ultra Magnus as his new informant. Using his vast social network and steady supply of drinks to coerce information out of his Decepticon informants, Maccadam became one of the Autobots' chief spymasters, helping to undermine Shockwave's rule over Iacon.

!! Hydratron
Hydratron is a giant robot jellyfish created by the Quintessons. Its alternate mode is a city.

!! Hightail
Hightail is practically a walking repository about all things race-related. He's memorized every bit of Speedia-related trivia- and even won the coveted race at least once- and because of this he is held in high regard among other Velocitronians.

!! Halogen
High Councilor Halogen was the longest serving member of the High Council in the last days before the Autobot/Decepticon War began. Rumor had it that he had personally known some of the Primes and had helped lead Cybertron through every major event after their era. His district included many of the less reputable parts of the planet, including Blaster City and the Badlands. His greatest political ambition was to annex the neighboring Hydrax Plateau. Unfortunately he'd been struggling to do this for so long that anything he said or did was immediately assumed by all to be a grab at the plateau.

!! Megatronus Prime / The Fallen

!! Detritius
Detritus is a Junkion, native to the planet of the same name. Wreck-Gar considers the stalwart, stoic Junkion to be one of his closest friends and associates. He transforms into a "trash hauler".

!! Clocker
Young and impetuous, Clocker is the archetypical Velocitronian; impatient, jittery, and obsessed with speed. However, he also has an aptitude for mechanics and engineering, and because of this he's regarded as something of a curiosity by his fellows. However, he is also a component of the long-lost Nexus Prime, charged with guarding the mythical Blades of Time and Star Saber.

!! Cannonspring
Cannonspring was a fifth of the mighty Nexus Prime, and the only one of the impromptu quintet who had an inkling of his past and ultimate destiny.

!! Blurr

!! Blueshift
Blueshift is a theoretical scientist. Like most Velocitronians, he is primarily concerned with speed and how to go even faster; in his case, this involves pioneering new upgrades for his people.

!! Backfire

!! Armco
Armco is a track engineer on Velocitron.

!! Arclight
* OffWithHisHead: Decapitated by Thundertron for opposing him.

!! Amalgamous Prime

!! Alpha Trion

!! Alchemist Prime

! Decepticons

!! Axer

!! Hook

!! Thundercracker
See the toyline characters folder.

!! Skywarp

!! Thrust
Thrust left Cybertron aboard the Nemesis, serving as one of Starscream's elite Seekers. He and his Air Commander were sent by Megatron in advance to spring a trap set by the Star Seekers, rather than risk the Nemesis itself.

!! Slipstream
Slipstream is a female Decepticon who fought on Cybertron during the early days of the Autobot/Decepticon war. She is a Seeker who specializes in sarcasm and stinging insults hidden behind a thin veneer of humor. Starscream finds her relatively unreadable.

!! Scrapper
Scrapper is a Constructicon. He can combine with his fellow members to form Devastator, serving as the head.

!! Scavenger
Scavenger is a Constructicon whose only real talent is the ability to dig and find unique objects of value in the ground. Now, if only he could get his fellow Decepticons to see his worth...

He can combine with his fellow members to form Devastator.

!! Rumble
See the toyline characters folder.

!! Frenzy
See the toyline characters folder.

!! Ravage
Like all of Soundwave's minions, Ravage would prowl around Megatron's Kaon headquarters, keeping an eye on his gladiators. Soundwave considered Ravage and Laserbeak more valuable than Frenzy and Rumble, so he did not send them to search for the Matrix of Leadership in Crystal City. He let them roam around the audience during Megatron and Orion Pax's hearing with the High Council. Like the other Minicons, Ravage gets restless when Soundwave makes intense calculations and he isn't allowed out.

While torturing the traitor Axer for information, Soundwave released Ravage who crawled over the helpless Decepticon, ripping components out one at a time with his teeth.

!! Ratbat

!! Ransack
Ransack once made an "amazing" comeback in the great Speedia race that determines the most prominent 'bots on Velocitron. He just came in second to Override, and since then he has never forgotten that leadership of the planet should have been his. Above all, Ransack desires power, and being second to Override's leadership has only irritated him further. He doesn't see past his own short term interests and is willing to send his world to hell, or make a deal with the devil, to gain the power that he desires. The Decepticon philosophy looks to be just what's needed on Velocitron, in his opinion, as long as he's the one in charge.

!! Rampage
When the Quintesson-ordered peace talks between the Autobots and Decepticons broke down on Aquatron, most of the ground parties were captured, including Megatron. Starscream returned to the Nemesis and tried to seize control, but Soundwave refused to leave without Megatron. Starscream stalled by ordering increasingly pointless scans of the area to "prepare" for a rescue mission. Eventually, Rampage and group of Decepticons stormed the bridge and threatened mutiny to force Starscream's hand and get the rescue of Megatron underway.

!! Ramjet
Ramjet is one of Megatron's crazier and more brutal aerial warriors, even by Decepticon standards! He maintains his air supremacy by taking his name literally — there isn't room in the air for anyone else in his view, and anyone who tries to intrude in his airspace will find themselves knocked right out of the sky by his head. As on the air, so he is on the ground — Ramjet carries a massive hammer around with him which he uses to administer a blunt force trauma to anyone who gets in his way. However, he'd prefer he ramming-by-the-head thing over the use of his devastating arsenal of weaponry.

!! Mixmaster
Mixmaster is a Constructicon. He has the power to combine with his fellow Constructicons to form Devastator.

!! Makeshift
Makeshift, alias 777, is a Shifter, a legendary breed of Cybertronian who can change his shape into any form that has roughly the same mass. More importantly, he can alter his voice and mannerisms to impersonate other Transformers—and he's pretty good at it too. Makeshift has claimed under interrogation that he doesn't kill his prey when it's not necessary, but he's not the most honest of robots.

Makeshift has formed a distinct enmity with the sometimes-Decepticon Axer.

!! Lugnut
Lugnut is large (4 to 5 times the mass of your average data clerk) and carries an enormous mace that is itself taller than many Transformers. Unfortunately, he's the sort of dense, plodding "semi-intelligent life" (as Megatron puts it) who'll just stand by dumbly without a superior's order to act. This makes Lugnut rather easy to manipulate once he gets over the surprise of actually being talked to. Lugnut seems dimly aware of his own nature, and will generally admit to not always remembering things he's been told, even if they were orders from Megatron.

!! Long
Long is a Constructicon. He has the ability to combine with his fellow members to form Devastator.

!! Laserbeak
Of the Deployers who stand with Soundwave, Laserbeak may say the least, but he quickly distinguishes himself, as his powerful laser attacks can pin down an Autobot attack force... when it isn't cutting them to shreds. The only one of Soundwave's Deployers to apparently join his master on Earth, Laserbeak is for all intents and purposes Soundwave's twin. Efficient, competent, and all-seeing-and-hearing, Laserbeak is a menace to even the mightiest of Autobots. He also has the honor of being perhaps the only thing his master sincerely cares about besides Megatron, and Soundwave will drop everything if it means saving Laserbeak.

!! Kickback
A member of the Insecticons, the independent Kickback prefers to spend his time cozying-up to others, so that once they've warmed up to him and he has his own circle of friends, he rewards them. With blackmail. And they end up doing his bidding. A manipulative, completely psychotic, and dangerously unpredictable creep, Kickback is trouble for any Autobot... unless you're Slug.

!! Hotlink
Hotlink was an old Air Command mainstay and (along with Bitstream) was one of Starscream's go-to, trusted tech engineers in the early days of the war. His specialty was "mechatronic engineering" (whatever that means). He carries a toolkit with him.

!! Hook
Hook is a Constructicon who considers himself an artist and looks down on his comrades. Although he has a huge ego, Hook is a master craftsman whose skill has been recognized by Megatron. He has the ability to combine with his fellow members to form Devastator.

!! Headstrong

!! Frontloader
Frontloader is a Constructicon. He can combine with his fellow members to form Devastator.

!! Dirge
Dirge is a member of the Decepticon army who, like Thundercracker, strikes fear into his enemies using sound. If you're an Autobot, he wants you to know that you should be very very afraid of him, as enjoys the feeling of power he gets from watching other robots quaking in fear at his prescence.

!! Devastator
Devastator is an enormous combiner formed by several Constructicons. Named after the Devastator Winds, he was the result of numerous experiments on combination by Shockwave, creating a powerful beast whose intelligence was less than the sum of its parts.

Normally he is composed of several robots including...

* Scrapper
* Mixmaster
* Hook
* Long
* Scavenger
* Frontloader
* Bonecrusher

!! Bonecrusher
Bonecrusher is a Constructicon. He has the ability to combine with his fellow members to form Devastator

!! Blackout
Blackout is a battle-hardened gladiator who joined Megatron's Decepticons in the war against the Autobots. He's also in the ''Beast Hunters'' comics.

!! Barricade
Barricade ran the day-to-day events of Megatron's gladiatorial ring/revolutionary movement/emerging army. When Orion Pax came to Kaon for his first face-to-face meeting with Megatron, Barricade and Lugnut "greeted" him at the entrance to their headquarters. Throughout Orion's tour of the headquarters, Barricade followed and got lippy with the archivist, but was rather curtly cut off by Megatron.

The Arms Microns were once ordinary weapons. However, a bizarre interaction with Earth's energon mutated them, giving the weapons the spark of life and the ability to transform. 1051
!! Zad (ザド Zado)
An Arms Micron who transforms from a robotic gecko into a... double-blade axe kind of thing.

!! Zamu (ザム)
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AtsushiImaruoka
Breakdown's Arms Micron partner. Not the excitable sort, there's not a lot else to say about him, other than he hangs out with Gra pretty much all the time. He transforms from a rhinoceros-like robot into Breakdown's massive hammer weapon.

!! Zori (ゾリ)
Soundwave's Arms Micron. Like his partner, he doesn't say a whole lot and can usually be found lurking in the background. He transforms from a robot scorpion into a tentacle/claw weapon modeled after Soundwave's data-link tentacle/claws.

! Other

!! Aimless (エイムレス Eimuresu)
* RiddleForTheAges: Aimless's allegiance is a mystery, as TakaraTomy's website promotions and his instructions fail to explicitly assign him to either the Autobots or Decepticons. The pattern established by the new-mold Arms Microns is that those with humanoid modes are Autobot-aligned. Reinforcing this, his instructions show his weapon mode held by Optimus Prime. On the other hand, he is named after a Decepticon Targetmaster.
* ThisIsADrill: Transforms into a drill.

!! Blowpipe (ブロウパイプ Burōpaipu)
Uses his claw mode to help bigger bots tear each other apart. Blowpipe's allegiance is a mystery at this point, as TakaraTomy's website promotions and his instructions fail to explicitly assign him to either the Autobots or Decepticons.

!! Bogu (ボグ)
The Arms Micron partner of Unicron. He transforms from a rocky-looking robotic mole into a weapon resembling one of Unicron's spikes; in fact, he is designed to replace Unicron's left forearm, which then combines with his right forearm to give Unicron a much more show-accurate look.

!! Giza (ギザ)
The Arms Micron partner of Nemesis Prime. He transforms from a robotic saw shark into a copy of Optimus Prime's blade weapon, technically speaking.

!! Jida (ジダ)
Terrorcon Cliffjumper's Arms Micron. He transforms from a robot cheetah into a dual-chainsaw weapon dubbed the "Big Saw". He also has a flattened-out "Defense Shield" mode.

!! Magi (マギ)
CYLAS' Arms Micron partner. He transforms from a robotic praying mantis to a dual-bladed weapon.
