Excerpts may be chosen because of poor grammar/spelling, triviality or irrelevance to the article, or just because they seem strange. While in the beginning excerpts were presented without commentary, Conor and Josh soon began [[{{MST}} adding snarky commentary]] to each entry using the tags at the end.
