The way he decides to put it behind him and [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge take his ultimate revenge against Black Doom]] is just awesome. Shadow carves a bloody swathe of destruction through the countless aliens that try to stop him, turns super, kills Black Doom in his CosmicHorror archdemon form -- complete with stabbing him through the ''eye'' and blasting his wings off -- teleports the Black Comet [[EarthShatteringKaboom into the path of the Eclipse Cannon]] with Chaos Control, and basically ensures that not a ''single'' Black Arms creature survives his wrath.

Not only that, but introduces you to the conflict you'll face in this game -- the invasion of the Black Creatures, the war between them and the forces of G.U.N., Shadow's contemplation of his true identity. All backed by the fitting, epic rock song ''I Am...All of Me'' performed by longtime Sonic theme performer ''Music/Crush40''.
27	* Space Gadget allows for a rematch of Shadow and Sonic's race. And, for the hero route, Shadow wins.
28	* Props must be given to GUN for Diablon, which is well-made enough that, in combination with Sonic, it makes a very good counter to Shadow. Shame about how Shadow can take advantage of that...
29	* [[ComicTrio The Chaotix]] get a good one in the Last Story, where, not only do they not get the ShooOutTheClowns treatment, they also send Professor Gerald's wish for Shadow to save the world to the 'hog himself, giving him the resolve to finish off the Black Arms once and for all, not to mention becoming [[SmallRoleBigImpact arguably more pivotal to the story than the rest of Sonic's friends]].
30	* The EasterEgg in the Gamecube and Playstation 2 versions of the game that allow a second player to control the Hero mission partner includes ''Maria'', allowing her to kick ass alongside Shadow.
