For as dark as the film is, there are some legitimate moments of awesome. Many come after TheReveal.

'''WARNING:''' Spoilers are unmarked.
----
* After you learn that they're the good guys, any scene in which the zombies attack the three cat-people count as this. Special props to the fact that, most of the time, it's specifically done when Scooby and Shaggy were in trouble, such as when Simone and Lena had grabbed the two and began to drain them of their life; the Confederate soldiers jump them, forcing them to release their hold on Shaggy and Scooby, who quickly revert to normal. The zombies literally have little-to-no chance of actually hurting the villains, but they still care enough to try and save others from their terrible fate.
* Captain Moonscar was the one who created the situation by sending Lena and Simone's fellow villagers into the bayou, where the local alligators devoured them. Two hundred years of being a zombie made him [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone reflect]] that what he did was terrible, and he resolved to make up for it.
* The flashback scene that opens the movie, not only for being a well-done opener but also for being the first ''Scooby-Doo'' movie to actually make the gang's job exciting and even dangerous.
* There's some genuinely [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic great music]] to rock out to. Particularly of the {{UsefulNotes/Punk}} variety.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDFouH2v8UM The Ghost is Here]]" is a great track for the montage while "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bkQBOgaFAc&ab_channel=aTunes It's Terror Time]]" is some great Horror Punk for the zombie chase scene. You absolutely ''cannot'' go through listening to them without getting sucked in and rocking out. Helps that they're catchy and don't get old. In fact, they get better the more you listen to them.
** The gang's rapid-fire hoax-busting during "The Ghost Is Here" makes that sequence an InUniverse example as well. Just seeing the gang take down four fakers in one song both reminded old-timers of all their past favorites, and taught a whole new generation of Scooby fans everything they needed to know about how the original series had worked.
* A minor one, but Fred managing to pull the zombie's entire head off. He might've thought it was a mask, but he definitely put his money where his mouth is when he told Daphne she wasn't pulling hard enough.
* Snakebite Scruggs' BigDamnHeroes moment when he uses a hook to clamp shut the mouth of an alligator attacking Shaggy and Scooby.
* Even when seeing that Simone and Lena have a voodoo doll of him, Beau shouts YouLeaveHimAlone about Daphne, Velma, and Fred when the women incapacitate them. He then attempts to tackle the duo. It fails but points given for him being brave.
* Credit to Shaggy and Scooby, they outrun Jacques when seeing him turn into a werecat. It's implied that he couldn't believe it.
* Scooby blinding Jacques by spraying [[ChekhovsGun hot pepper juice]] in his eyes to save Shaggy.
* Velma uses her bound feet to get the ropes off her voodoo doll, and she quickly gets the ropes off the other dolls to free Beau and her friends.
* Daphne and Velma using [[HoistByHisOwnPetard the Voodoo dolls to control Simone and Lena]] just as they start to drain Shaggy and Scooby's life force.
-->'''Velma:''' You're not the only ones who like playing with dolls!
* Beau grabs a torch when the werecats corner him, wielding it defensively. Even when Jacques knocks him away, Beau guards the Scooby gang with his body, silently daring GoThroughMe.
* Velma's observation when midnight has passed and Simone's group have failed to drain the gang's life force, causing the three to crumbly to dust.
-->'''Velma:''' [[PreMortemOneLiner Looks like your nine lives are up!]]
* In hindsight, we find out Beau was a MasterActor. His {{Jerkass}} persona was an act to keep people from getting close to him while he investigated the disappearances; he drops it when Velma laments that the police won't believe them, revealing that he is a cop. We find out that he's actually a SouthernGentleman NiceGuy who addresses Velma and Daphne as "Ma'am".
* Despite being the bad guys, it's hard not to root for Lena and Simone in the flashback, when they receive their power from the Cat God and tear apart the pirates that just murdered their families and friends out of sheer greed.
