* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kVMyZuA-k4&feature=g-u Despite developing Tinnitus]], Gavin has decided to [[{{Determinator}} power through it]] and is now continuing to make more songs.
--> Made in pain. Screw pain, let's do this!
* At least ''someone'' involved with ''Franchise/MassEffect'' knows of Gavin's work. Here's Creator/MarkMeer doing a dramatic reading of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhjvtxtq5wc the lyrics from "Commander Shepard"]].
** Now available in Creator/JenniferHale [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRJ2wAwWl2U variety]].
* Gavin getting his first in-game song when [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HloF7F4dPNo&list=UUSfoxYTlCPFfglckBLrjpsA Cries of a Dead World]] appeared in the end credits of ''VideoGame/Wasteland2''.
* Gavin released Metal Up, his metal album that was solely original content. It's been revealed to be his best selling album and was the best selling album in the Metal category on iTunes.
* During Episode 52 of the WebVideo/{{Jimquisition}} podcast, to celebrate the anniversary of Jim Sterling going independent, the 90's Australian kids show ''Series/RoundTheTwist'' comes up in discussion. Both Jim and Laura mention the show's catchy theme tune will be stuck in their heads for the rest of the episode...so Gavin busts out his guitar, mid-episode, and plays [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic an impromptu acoustic cover of the theme tune]]. Jim and Laura - and any audience members who remember that excellent show - are suitably impressed.
* The official ''VideoGame/{{Fallout}}'' Twitter account [[https://twitter.com/Fallout/status/841020428852318208 acknowledging his work and praising it]].
* Miracle of Sound ''itself'' is a big SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome. With the exception of the occasional collab, Gav does all the work himself. That includes singing, playing instruments, writing the songs, and recording. His music is consistently well-received by his fans, which is impressive as it is, but it goes to another level when all that work (which is normally done by multiple people) is put into consideration.
* ''Open Air'' is very much an uplifting response to ''The Day The World Died''. How so? Whilst ''The Day The World Died'' is a somber song about the fall of man and the uncertainty of its future, ''Open Air'' is about the undying hope in the singer when he discovers that the world survives outside of the Moscow Metro. In the comments section one fan even nicknamed the song "The Day The World Was Reborn".
** Comparing the verse about the future in ''[[DespairEventHorizon The Day the World Died]]'' to ''[[HopeSpringsEternal Open Air]]'' shows just how much hope was inspired by discovering that the world yet lives outside the Metro.
--->'''The Day The World Died:''' [[DespairEventHorizon And the future's a tunnel stretching endlessly / Into nothing, stumble in the black.]]/ [[HopeSpot And the light at the end is but a treachery]]/ [[HopeIsScary It will blind you]] [[YouCantFightFate and force you back.]]
--->'''Open Air:''' [[TriumphantReprise And the future's a railroad stretching endlessly]] / [[HopeSpringsEternal All our hopes keep rolling on the track.]] / [[ShutUpHannibal As the shadows of home become a memory / They will haunt us but they can't pull us back.]]
** Even better is a verse sung the exact same way as the closing verse of ''The Day The World Died'' shows up near the end of ''Open Air'', and then the song ''keeps going'' proving that at long last the nightmare of the Metro is coming to an end and its inhabitants are moving on and that it's people ''have'' learned.
--->'''Open Air:''' [[CueTheSun I watch the Sun rise]] / In skies so clear / [[IronicEcho We learn the Outside]] / [[HopeSpringsEternal There's Hope out here.]]
** Some have even gone as far as to point out the {{Applicability}} of the song given the (at time of writing) ongoing social distancing orders for many parts of the world due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and how so many people are yearning to breathe free and return to their normal lives.
* ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlkgmdYxiuM Only Us]]'' is a supremely epic tribute to the [[BrotherSisterIncest twisted]] [[UnholyMatrimony love story]] of [[Series/GameOfThrones Jaime and Cercei Lannister.]] Many commenters who were unsatisfied with how their arc was concluded in the show itself admitted that this song went a long way towards redeeming it.
* ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_epoUlyzGM Force of Nature]]''. [[VideoGame/HorizonZeroDawn Aloy]] may be a hated outcast, but that only made her stronger.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqyEADY_20Y "The Tale of Cú Chulainn"]]. Standing in at almost 9 minutes long, it is an amazing folk metal ballad retelling the story of the titular mythological hero in [[Myth/CelticMythology the Ulster cycles]], from his beginnings to his many struggles and victories to his demise. It's accompanied by traditional Irish instruments and even includes phrases in the Irish language in parts of the song. It is an amazing tribute both to the character and to Gavin's own Irish cultural heritage.
* Whenever he does a remaster and update of one of his classic songs:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpumhuqtlL4 This is the original version of "City of Night" from 2013, when the game was announced.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=376DUWvQroU And this is the updated version of "City of Night" from 2020, when the game was released.]]
* The chorus of ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EEtGLLDhNY The Crush]]'' really sells the power fantasy of piloting a giant mech. ''When I walk it will shake the ground,'' indeed.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Qs_9a1IT0 Fallen Leaves]]". The lands between are infested by monsters, demons and mad demigods, and through it all walks the Tarnished, who stands up to it all. [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe0DNp0mKMqrYVaTundyr9w VaatiVidya]]'s narration only makes it better.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkFZaQmG-so Superhuman]]" walks perfectly in the butter zone of a kickass punk anthem about being pissed off enough at the untouchable superpeople to fight back, while also capturing [[HeWhoFightsMonsters how quickly heroes can turn into their own brand of villain]]. A perfect encapsulation of ''Series/TheBoys2019'' in general, and Billy Butcher in particular.
