%%* The [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic Theme Song]].
* Steve [=McGarrett=] is basically ''made'' of awesome. Some highlights:
** In "Murder: Eyes Only", an official government package has been tampered with, causing an explosion that killed two people. [=McGarrett=] is questioning the courier, asking him whether he let somebody else handle the package, whether he took his eyes off the package at any time, whether he fell asleep on the helicopter ride between destinations. The courier held up his hand, and then spoke one of the most badass lines in television history:
-->"''Sir, with respect, I take my duties as a courier very seriously.''"
** Evading a gangster's thugs while playing bodyguard to a witness in "The Singapore File".
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHsOs9FpGns Catching the villains in "3,000 Crooked Miles To Honolulu" when they're about to leave by plane.]]
--> ''"Ladies and gentlemen, [[NotMyDriver this is NOT your Captain]]. There will be no departure time, and your trip will average 15 to 20 years... And if you're tempted to try anything foolish, just look through the windows. Both sides of the plane.''"
*** Followed by an equally awesome punch line:
--> ''Aloha. Aloha, suckers.''[[note]]Made even more awesome when you realize "aloha" means ''both'' "hello" and "goodbye".[[/note]]
** Evading Wo Fat's minions at sea while in Season 9's "Nine Dragons" while ''being amnesiac and pumped full of brainwashing drugs.''
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bix_7cZj5MU Booking Wo Fat in the series finale.]] Tempered by the fact that SeasonalRot had long set in, but still worth it for the fact that the show managed to end with wrapping up a major plot thread.
* The "V for Vashon" three-parter in Season 5 has Five-O systematically dismantle the titular Vashon family, Hawaii's very own version of the [[Film/TheGodfather Corleones.]]
** Special mention on how he takes down Honore Vashon, who by all accounts is the king of Hawaiian organized crime. Honore sends a hitman to snipe Steve as he winds down after a long day at the office. In a twist ripped straight from ''Literature/SherlockHolmes'', Five-O, having predicted where the hitman will shoot, have an undercover cop distract him while they put in a dummy of Steve. The killer shoots the dummy, and just after he makes the shot, Five-O burst in and catch him in the act.
** Another special mention goes to Dominick Vashon. He came an within an inch of successfully framing Steve for murder, something few Five-O villains ever get the chance to pull off. And he even gets away with it, even when the frame is exposed. How? By committing suicide. Only Wo Fat could have equalled ''and'' got away with such an incriminating plot.
** Mention should be made of teenage Anne Carter in "Image Of Fear" who actually gets Steve to admit that her plan to [[{{Gaslighting}} gaslight]] her mother almost worked (which it did). Bonus points for being part of the [[SeasonalRot final season]].
