Context Awesome / CrashTwinsanity

Go To

* While ''Twinsanity'' is the game that made Cortex into comic relief, what is quite possibly his best moment comes right before the final battle of that game. After being chased and abused by the Evil Twins who used to be his pet parrots, Cortex finally tells them, with no fear in his voice, that playtime is over and to go back into their cage. And '''they obey.'''
-->'''Cortex:''' True... now, [[SuddenlyShouting PLAYTIME IS ]] ''[[SuddenlyShouting OVER!]]'' Victor, Moritz, back in your cage, you naughty boys!
** ... For a moment, [[ReflexiveResponse before realising they've been duped]], they use their psychic powers to convert the cage into a HumongousMecha. Granted, given the twins themselves were abused pets of Cortex originally, it could be considered equally awesome how quickly [[TheDogBitesBack they turned the tables when old habits returned.]]
--->'''Victor:''' That's it, Cortex! You wanna make up for lost time and play with ya pets? ''Then so be it....''\
''*cue final boss and OhCrap reaction from Cortex*''
* Madame Amberly says Cortex will always be a little worm to her in the cutscene before the boss battle against her. Said "little worm" defeats the FatBastard not long after, getting back at her for all the torment and harassment long ago.
* The FinalBoss Battle against the Evil Twins as Nina, Cortex and the Mecha Bandicoot piloted by Crash! Too bad there wasn't any phases with Crash outside of the Mecha Bandicoot nor Crash & Cortex together. By the end of the battle, the Evil Twins, [[SmugSnake who had spent the entire game gloating and intimidating the trio]], are forced to retreat ''terrified''.
* The Evil Twins get one for defeating Aku Aku and Uka Uka together. Seemingly without any problems, no less.
* Spyro's cameo, though short, was pretty cool.
* Dingodile earns one for his CreepyAwesome boss fight in the Academy of Evil's boiler room. Compared to his usual status as a comically-villainous ButtMonkey, he comes off as [[SurprisinglyCreepyMoment genuinely menacing]]; with his [[HellIsThatNoise disturbingly loud grunts and pig-like squeals,]] relentless and varied barrages of flamethrower attacks, and how he's only illuminated by the harsh red glow of the fires against the darkness of the rest of the arena.
** One of the biggest factors in the atmosphere is his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3RHIojoD3U boss theme]], an intense tribal dirge interspersed with war drum-like beat boxing and mournful wailing. Doubly-so considering it was done entirely in acapella -- along with the rest of the soundtrack -- and it ''still'' manages to be surprisingly scary!
* Cortex has always been the Butt Monkey of the series. The Wumpa Islands are in danger - this is normal, of course, because it's usually Cortex himself putting them in danger. This time, however? Someone who is ''not'' him is planning to destroy the islands (and, it's implied, the world) and this is something up with which Cortex will not put uoqith - he can't rule the world and enslave everyone if it's already been done! So what does he do? He buckles down, joins forces with his enemy and ''actually becomes competent!'' Between them, they win.
* The game itself deserves some credit; While it is a shame it never got to be properly released in a complete state, the game is still playable with many fans nevertheless looking upon it with great fondness.
