''Mars Of Destruction'' is an anime OVA made by Creator/IdeaFactory, animated by Creator/WaoWorld, and directed by the Creator/EdWood of anime, Yoshiteru Satou. The anime is an [[AnimeOfTheGame adaptation of the game]] with the same title, and it's also regarded by many as one of, if not ''the'' worst anime of all time. No, really, ''it is'', [[http://m.imdb.com/title/tt2137684/ look]] [[https://myanimelist.net/anime/413/Hametsu_no_Mars it]] [[http://www.forevergeek.com/mars-of-destruction-review/ up]].

The plot goes something like this: some time after a space mission to Mars ends in destruction, strange monsters called "Ancients" begin appearing around Tokyo. A group of specialists consisting of three girls and one troubled young boy must fight the Ancients until they can come to understand exactly what it is they are fighting.

!!This anime contains examples of:

* AbusiveParents: Takeru appears to have a dad for this.
* AlienInvasion: This is more or less the premise of the film.
* BloodlessCarnage: Zigzagged, one of the girls has her head blown off in a bloody mess from one of the aliens at the start of the film. However later on, when other aliens fire on some citizens, they just leave holes in their body without a drop of blood.
* DeathByAdaptation: In the game, one of the soldiers is never shown getting her head blown off, which would explain why it seems so hastily edited in.
* EpicFail: A headless body is taken in to the doctor. Looks like she's not gonna make it.
* Main/{{Expy}}: There are few for characters from ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''.
** Takeru is blatantly one for Shinji. Both of are young boys forced to fight monsters by their [[AbusiveParent abusive]] MadScientist fathers despite [[IJustWantToBeNormal their reluctance]] and end up psychologically scarred as a result.
** Takeru's unnamed father seems to be one for Gendo Ikari. They are both [[MadScientist Mad Scientists]] who force their sons to pilot an experimental piece of military tech (a GiantRobot in ''Neon Genesis'' and a suit of PowerArmor in ''Mars'') to fight monsters. In addition, they are both AbusiveParents.
* FourIsDeath: You have four protagonists. Sounds like death is coming.
* GagDub: A fan-made one exists by a group called [=BWB=] (no, not [[WebVideo/BingingWithBabish that one]]), found [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Oa-Pc4O39k here]].
* HighPressureBlood: Happens when a girl soldier gets her head blown off. Apparently it's so high-pressure it doesn't even arc or rain back down...
* IJustWantToBeNormal: A flashback shows Takeru didn't want to fight the Ancients but was forced to by his father.
* ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy: Turns out one of the girls ended up taking this school, missing EVERY shot she sprayed at an enemy while charging them (With a rapid-fire weapon no less). Later on, she outright has to put her gun up to the invader's body in order to actually dish out damage.
* LimitedAnimation: Moving, panning still shots, recycled frames, little to no emotes, the works.
* OffWithHerHead: One young foot soldier gets her head blasted clean off. Not only does the blood not arc or rain down, [[LimitedAnimation her body slides out of frame in that very same pose.]]
* PublicDomainSoundtrack: Including MIDI renditions of ''Music/RideOfTheValkyries'' and ''Theatre/TheBarberOfSeville''.
* ShoutOut: To ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''. They're so obvious that it overlaps with plagiarism.
* SoundtrackDissonance: The final battle is to the tune of ''The Barber of Seville''.
* TwistEnding: [[spoiler:The Ancients are [[{{Ultraterrestrials}} the original inhabitants of Earth]], and they're only taking back what's theirs]].
