''Spider and Tulip'' (くもとちゅうりっぷ, ''Kumo to Chūrippu'') is a Japanese animated short from 1943 directed by Kenzo Masaoka about a little beetle girl who encounters a sinister spider.

This short is remarkable in that due to the economics problems of depression and World War 2-era Japan animated shorts did not have the resources to prosper as they had in the United States throughout UsefulNotes/TheGoldenAgeOfAnimation with many shorts being forgotten about or [[MissingEpisode lost to time]].

* {{Blackface}}: The spider's face is strongly reminiscent of [[{{MinstrelShows}} minstrel performers]], which was not uncommon in Western Animation during the era.
* LittleBitBeastly: The ladybug is drawn to basically look like a girl in a ladybug costume--she has two legs and two arms and a completely human face. She's the heroine so she is drawn to look more human.
* NameAndName: ''Spider and Tulip''
* SchmuckBait: The spider spins a hammock, which he tries to lure the ladybug into.
