In the future Japan, aspiring IdolSinger Hiyori Hayama struggles with her career. She made her debut and got some fans but that's all. After being unable to properly promote her, Hiyori's agency ends the contract, but her former manager gives her one last piece of advice: try to participate in "Extreme Hearts" — a mixed sports competition large music labels sponsor to promote new and established musical groups.

Joined by her biggest fan — junior football star Saki Kodaka and Sakis best friend — former junior baseball star Sumika Maehara she starts the idol unit "RISE" and enters the competition to fulfill her dream.

''Extreme Hearts'' is an original [[Main/GenreMashup sci-fi sports idol anime]] with a script of Masaki Tsuzuki (of ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'' and ''Anime/DogDays'' fame) animated by Creator/SevenArcs and aired in the Summer 2022 Season.
----
!!''Extreme Hearts'' contains examples of the following tropes:

* AndroidIdentifier: All of the sports AIs have silver-white hair and either blue or golden eyes. However, this only seems to apply to the sports AIs, as other AIs such as Nono look completely different.
* ExtremeSportsPlot: The sports the girls play are pretty normal, such as basketball, soccer, and baseball, but their use of special gear makes it extreme.
* FriendlyRivalry: "RISE" quickly befriends most of the "May-Bee" members during their joint practice despite them being rivals and despite the fact that "RISE" lost all of the practice matches.
* HeirToTheDojo: [[spoiler: Yukino forced this role on herself after her father and brother died in car accident]].
* IdolSinger: Hiyori was more like a normal pop-singer, but after creating "RISE" she and her groupmates started using the idol aesthetic and most of their rival groups are the same.
* InstantExpert: Downplayed with Hiyori. She had no real sports experience beforehand but she is naturally very athletic and puts extra effort in her training. She also has two very experienced teammates who help her out, and she still lacks the polished technique of a pro. Played straight with Saki, Sumika, and Yukino, who after one or two lessons have polished their singing and dancing.
* RobotGirl: a whole bunch of advanced AIs that look like cute girls are present in the series as support cast. But RISE manager/housekeeper Nono takes the cake.
* ThreePlusTwo: RISE starts out as a trio, and then goes onto recruit two new members more than halfway through the series.
