* Italian singer Music/CristinaDAvena has done ''hundreds'' of alternative theme songs for Western cartoon series dubbed in Italy. Sadly, most of these have been replaced with generic dubs, EX: Wacky Races on DVD In Japan has the English theme dubbed. [[https://youtu.be/_Z4Bh3lUxEA You can see them here]].
* Various ''Creator/CartoonNetwork'' shows have different openings in their Hindi dubs, such as: ''WesternAnimation/{{Chowder}}'' ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acIK1kSsiy0 here]]), ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'' ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q98zO5cRtAE first dub]]) ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L633wagqXs second dub]]), and ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'' ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYgJhtTGsxI here]])
* This is the norm with Arabic dubs produced for Al-Majd owned networks like Basma, which are made to comply with Islamic beliefs. One of these changes is replacing the theme songs with nasheeds (traditional Islamic music). [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNIOCkPkiow Here is the nasheed]] to ''WesternAnimation/PabloTheLittleRedFox'' as an example.
** Several of the dubs used nasheeds that are similar to the original themes, such as ''Fimbles'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwCJAr9d2k8 for example]].

* The Japanese dub of the ''WesternAnimation/ExchangeStudentZero'' animated series (retitled ''Card Battle Zero'') has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30rj6_GUgY "Change My World"]], which is much more peppy than the original but still fits the show due to its {{Animesque}} nature.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeaMCK0szPM This]] was used as the opening to season one of WesternAnimation/FiremanSam in Croatia. On top of that, instead of reusing the final verse of the intro, the credits had completely new lyrics!
* The Japanese version of ''WesternAnimation/FrannysFeet'' has two ending themes: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j_OnGX6PaM "Lovin' You"]] and "My Favorite Shoes" by Daisuke Mori.

** Unlike the original, slapstick-like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzdR421Ekv8 opening]], the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwnwLMpgX8Q Italian one]] could easily pass off as a pop song.
* The animated series of ''WesternAnimation/MegaManRubySpears'' has this German [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFEBaAxO7W0 opening]].
* ''Franchise/MyLittlePony'' segment of ''[[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyAndFriends My Little Pony 'n Friends]]'' from the 1980s had at least two cases:
** Italy had [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N93vRcAkkDA "Vola mio mini pony"]] (broadcast on Italia 1, part of Berlusconi's empire of Mediaset) sung by Cristina D'Avena, which was used again as the Italian theme for ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTales'', also titled ''Vola mio mini pony''. 62* Like its predecessor, the Italian version of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', broadcast on Italia 1, has a different opening song, this time not sung by Cristina D'Avena. Compared to the ''very'' happy and upbeat English theme song, this one is slower and actually a bit melancholy. The short version can be found [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FVqFN_Hn20 here]] and the full version [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dchiYx5Hzo here]]. It was used only for Season 1, and later seasons (and DVD releases of Season 1) replaced it with a translation of the English one.
** The Japanese dub has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S9aKeCq0tE "Future Start"]], sung by Pinkie Pie's Japanese voice actress Creator/SuzukoMimori, as its opening theme, and [[http://www.jpopsuki.tv/video/HKT48---Kataomoi-no-Tou-Age/34bf6378cd88c4c3d1c0dc082c35c230 "Deep-Fried Unrequited Love (Sweet Princess)"]] by [=HKT48=] as its ending theme, both of which are even bubblier and happier than the English songs! The second half of the first season switches out its opening theme with the even more hyper [[http://fr.musicplayon.com/play?v=272174 "Magical Dai Dai Dai-Bouken!"]] by Nanamori-chu☆Gorakubu. The second ending theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F_eH--rZUU "step by step"]] by Suzu, takes on a more melancholy tone. 64* The Japanese version of ''WesternAnimation/TheNewAdventuresOfBatman'' has a different [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItIXcpf6uhw opening and ending]]. The opening is "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aSAkXp-Cv0 Crescent Night Story]]" and the ending is "I Love Batman", both by SUE CREAM SUE.
* ''WesternAnimation/OggyAndTheCockroaches'' uses one for the Basma channel. Watch the theme and the first 20 episodes [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBJRBbjm8oE here]].
* ''WesternAnimation/OscarsOrchestra'' has two: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDweQ4PlX5g One in Italian]] by Music/CristinaDAvena, and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUMLFY38O5U one in Sinhala]].
* ''WesternAnimation/PacManAndTheGhostlyAdventures'' uses [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Rhn6xJTfS8 "PAC THIS WORLD"]] by Hyadain for the opening theme of the Japanese dub.
* While the ending theme of the original ''WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol'' was instrumental, the Japanese dub uses the opening theme with vocals, accompanied by a live action person dancing to it.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls1998'' has two [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMF6-6Zvq8M opening]] [[http://nicoviewer.net/nm13169224 themes]] and [[http://nicoviewer.net/nm13169305 ending]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYexfaVDtrM themes]]. Most of them were written by Power Puff Soul, a band of singers who joined together for this series, and one of the members is Music/MegumiHayashibara!
* The ending theme for the Japanese version of ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls2016'' is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VORcbg7WD0A "Pawawawawan! Powerpuff Girls"]] by The World Standard.
* ''WesternAnimation/PeppaPig'' had two of these in Japan. The first, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu6dDAIepuE "Colorful Fanfare"]], was used for the Cartoon Network dub, while the second, [[https://youtube.com/watch?v=57PBw5DQuWY "Miracle Everyday"]], was the theme song to the show that its' second dub aired on, Kinder TV, and in this case served as an Additional Foreign Opening since the original intro was used during the Peppa Pig segments.
** It also has a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnOrPP1MNzw different theme song]] in Taiwan.

The song, as well as the Greek version of the closing song and other songs made for the series, were later released in a CD.
* The ending theme song for ''WesternAnimation/RubyGloom'' in the Japanese version is called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0O9GJj4aek "Siren"]] by Nana Kitade, who used the alias "Ruby Gloom" for this single.
* The Japanese dub of Lego Ninjago uses a song by Scorpio named [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3bCpQ51c_k "Mr. Buddy!"]] as the ending theme.
* The Japanese dub of ''WesternAnimation/SabrinaAndTheGroovieGoolies'' has [[http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8e2w7_yyyyyyyyyyy-op_shortfilms this]] as its theme song.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Shelldon}}'' has an odd example. The show is a U.S.-Thailand co-production. In the U.S., it uses its own TitleThemeTune by an unknown vocalist, but still credits Lea Salonga for the song "Brand New Day" ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0nLpkvuwDo "It's a Brand New Day"]]) in the credits. This was used as the theme song in most other international markets and also released as a music video, yet in Thailand, a version other than the one by Salonga was used.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'' cartoon show uses two different theme songs for foreign markets, instead of the basic "La-la song" used for the American version, one of them was called "The Smurfy Way", and [[https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj2rbzmidv8AhUQSkEAHbCbDpIQtwJ6BAgMEAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fvimeo.com%2F26669643&usg=AOvVaw2tv51B1fJyIxU-NiGh9Mb9 can he herd here]]. These two theme songs are always accompanied with the Season 1 intro sequence, which was also used throughout most of the show (except for season 9), instead of being replaced with the subsequent intro sequences (usually seasons 2-8, though some countries retain the intros for seasons 7 and 8). Another theme called "Smurfingland" was made around the late 90s and is currently used for subsequent airings and DVD releases of the Dutch, Spanish, and French dubs.
** For the Italian dub, several different theme songs performed by Cristina D'Avena were used for each season.
** For international markets, the episodes featuring Johan and Peewit from the second and third seasons were aired separately from ''The Smurfs'' cartoon show. The episodes use the Season 2 intro sequence accompanied with usually one of two different theme songs (and a modified title at the end).
** An extended version of the "La-la song" was recorded in French, Italian, and Hebrew.
** In China, it's also a very much beloved show, which subsequently introduced many people to Belgian comics. There's also an [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AwsxdNkqxNE original Chinese Mandarin theme song,]] which was used for the 1980s Chinese Mandarin dub of the series alongside the Chinese Mandarin dub of the season 1 intro. It's a completely original (though still very brilliant) piece of music, lyrics and all. It was very beloved by many Chinese people and still holds the place of being one of the most famous Chinese nursery rhymes to this day.
*** There are also other Chinese theme songs for the show too. Here's the [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9ecmkj29tTU Cantonese one,]] as well as the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCm60Qb6GK4 Taiwanese Mandarin one.]]
** Sri Lanka also has a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvdgg2P9cfY completely different song]] for the show too!

** An extended version of the specific theme song above was recorded in French and Dutch.
** For the Italian dub, Cristina D'Avena translated the extended theme above for the first intro and then performed another theme, which can be seen [[http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xzdotq_sigla-iniziale-snorky-italia1-1986_shortfilms here]].
** The European Spanish dub uses this [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-faLGJVnSI theme song]], known as "Un Mundo Submarino".
* The Latin American Spanish dub of ''WesternAnimation/SpiderMan1967'' uses this [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2887MsT5Axw opening]] performed by the Chilean singer Capitan Memo.
** He also sings the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MInm-NIdI4M Spanish OP]] theme of ''WesternAnimation/SpiderWoman''.

** The one produced for Basma Channel has [[https://twitter.com/OutOfContxtDubs/status/1406027939595132933 a theme]] that suspiciously sounds similar to ''Caramelldansen'' of all things!
** The English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Mandarin dubs all use [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvC14zuWrc4 this theme song]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6gzz7mldeo Ditto]] with the OP theme of ''WesternAnimation/SportBilly''.
* Rip Slyme wrote a new ending theme song for the Japanese version of ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants''. You can find it [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVbUE7rxEoA here]].
** Starting with season 10, the Japanese version uses a new ending theme, titled "ONE WAY” by the band BOYS AND MEN.
** The Persian dub also used a new opening theme song.
** The Italian dub uses an instrumental-only version of the theme, making it a RealSongThemeTune as it's the tune of "Blow The Man Down". It also uses different visuals, replacing all lettering. Instead of hopping on the letters of his name, [=SpongeBob=] hops on pieces of coral.
* North American releases of ''WesternAnimation/SpotTheDog'' [[https://youtu.be/X_ixVIgFQS0 use this]] theme song.
* When the British cartoon ''WesternAnimation/StressedEric'' was imported to America, its theme music was thrown out and replaced with a new one (albeit one which sounded similar to the British theme), as well as a different title sequence.
* The Korean versions of ''Series/TheSuperMarioBrosSuperShow'' and ''WesternAnimation/SuperMarioWorld'' use these two [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixhC_quOOHw opening]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPeRTolYixw themes]]. (trivia: The second theme uses the melody from the "My Frog Suit" from ''Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3'')

* Most Western ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' shows imported to Japan have different themes.
** ''[[WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime Prime]]'' is a notable case -- for episodes 1-13, rather than having a new song written for it, as is usually the case for Transformers series in Japan, it used the existing song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WU95lCW30nM "Feeling"]] by K-Pop group Big Bang. It...doesn't fit very well with the show's generally dark and edgy tone. It also has a different ending called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkaukGzTs7o "I Believe in All"]].
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'' is notable for having one of the highest quality theme songs of any series, featuring ''Music/JAMProject'' and actually having something to do with the overreaching theme of the series. A similar thing was done in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N13IyfCsThY Japanese dub]], though to a lesser extent.
** Both the Japanese and Korean dubs use {{Rewritten Pop Version}}s of "Best Day Ever" from "The Royal Review" as the ending theme.

** Nickelodeon's release of Seasons 3 and 4 [[note]]Seasons 1 and 2 were skipped over and instead were released as four [[ExtraLongEpisode one-hour specials]][[/note]] used an entirely new opening, "Winx You're Magic Now", which unlike the 4Kids version, is a parody of the Season 4 theme.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{WITCH}}'' loves this trope:
** The non-US English markets, and most of the non-English dubs used [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc05kB2BXJA this one]], with footage specially animated for the opening.
** The American version [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpbMc4aOyFA&feature=related created a special one]] using edited footage from the show. And then it used [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o8xdIGNyf4 a different singer later!]]

The Jetix redub [[note]][[UnfinishedDub Only 42 episodes were dubbed in the TV Tokyo version,]] [[ScrewedByTheNetwork since they pulled the show 2 and a half years before it ended in the US.]] [[/note]] uses the original opening instead.
** The first opening from the Japanese version was also reused in the rerun version's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_3qzNmYevc closing credits]].
** There's also the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjurSWOoLkE German]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmZbw0ztPeA Italian]], themes, which have likewise been replaced with the original intro on current prints.
* The German dub of ''WesternAnimation/{{Wunschpunsch}}'' has a variation: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXNVBkCWaQc the theme song has different visuals and has a different rhythm for the vocals]].
* ''WesternAnimation/BlazingDragons'' has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yt584z0g2w this song]] for the Arabic theme, performed by Hala Alsabagh.

** The Greek dub originally had [[https://www.retrojunk.com/content/child/intro/page/3972/inspector-gadget/2#/content/child/intro/8136/show this]] for a theme song, but later switched to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8BLnHckxoE this, the more famous new Greek theme]].
** The original Arabic dub used [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ph8mpJE48 this song]], which was more of a MoralityBallad than a theme song for a kids TV show, asking the viewers to "grow their knowledge" and to not rely on machines for learning.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Arcane}}'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hlp8XD0R5qo&t=6s "Lone Warrior"]] by Eason Chan is the theme song in the Chinese version.
