** Relatedly, many were upset at Saki’s lesser plot importance in the second half, with her being separated from the main heroes for several episodes being a huge criticism of it.

** The entire finale is one big BrokenAesop: [[spoiler:While Liselotte wanted Magius and humans to coexist, L-elf's actions caused a Magius genocide. In the end Shoko became Valvrave 01's pilot. What was Haruto's biggest fear? Having Shoko pilot it!]]
*** [[spoiler: Not quite a Magius xenocide as it seems to be mostly the Council that takes the brunt of it, and we can assume that there are far more Magius around given that the Council is 'merely' the 101 most powerful and influential.]]

* {{Narm}}: See Narm/ValvraveTheLiberator. Given that this show is from the same writer of ''Anime/CodeGeass'' ([[Narm/CodeGeass which has its own page about this reaction]]), some viewers were certain that this series was going to have a lot of it. It did not disappoint, but much of the resulting comedy also seems more [[NarmCharm intended]].

* {{Narm}}: See Narm/ValvraveTheLiberator. Given Kyuma's screaming in anger in episode 8 wasn't originally narmy, but one group's subtitles of that this show is from the same writer of ''Anime/CodeGeass'' ([[Narm/CodeGeass which has its own page about this reaction]]), some viewers were certain that this series was going to have a lot of it. It did not disappoint, but much of the resulting comedy scene--translating "chickishou" as [[PrecisionFStrike "fuck"]]--and also seems more [[NarmCharm intended]]. having the font gradually increase in size as he screamed made it into this.

Per TRS.

* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Half of the fandom believes it as a result of several sci-fi elements and actions including "[[FanNickname space vampires]]", mechas that make you immortal, body swapping, most of the things Shoko says and the origin story of the so called "space vampires"

* FanNickname: As the show careered further and further OffTheRails after initially appearing to be a generic RealRobot story, fans began to affectionately refer to it as '[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Gundam]] [[WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs WEED]]'. Fans also call it VVV as a shorthand ("'''V'''al'''v'''ra'''v'''e").

** All the way back in Episode 5, when Saki kisses Haruto, the Valvrave AI asks if they were having sex. [[spoiler:Guess what Haruto does to her when he's possessed by the Valvrave in Episode 10. [[MadnessMantra During the act, the AI spouts a continuous "SEX SEX SEX SEX..."]]]]
** There's also the scene where Haruto goes into vampire-mode and attacks Takahi; Saki kicks him back to his senses, and he brushes off the incident by claiming she was so sexy he couldn't control himself. [[spoiler:Aneurysmed, as above, by the rape scene.]]
