* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Immediately following intermission, the film lingers for an inordinate amount of time on the Museum's paddle ball barker, who at one point directs his and his paddle's attention to the camera and references "someone with a bag of popcorn," which seems to come out of nowhere (only when one realizes that the film was experimenting with 3D technology at the time of its release - and was thus trying to engage with the audience in the theater and enrich the experience - does this make sense; but on its own without context it comes completely out of left field). It gets even weirder when the barker shows up for a second time, after Sue and Scott leave the building, and randomly starts popping the paddle's balls into his mouth while looking at the camera - which, for some reason, causes one of the Museum spectators to faint for the SECOND time.

** The film's ends on a close-up of a wax bust of Igor. Considering who the unknown-at-the-time actor was, it's now as if the gesture were shouting, "Hey, look! A soon-to-be major [[Creator/CharlesBronson film star]]!"

* AdaptationDisplacement: Most people don't know about ''Film/MysteryOfTheWaxMuseum'', though it didn't help that it was thought to be lost until a print turned up in the late 1960s, and it was not fully restored until the 1980s. ([[EmbeddedPrecursor It's a bonus feature on the 1953 film's DVD]]).
** Even to one more degree Mystery of the Wax Museum in itself was an adaption of a play that is even more forgotten.

* UncannyValley: Wax museums usually have a touch of this anyway, but it gets extra creepy when Sue is walking around in semi-darkness after it's closed.

Not YMMV

* RetroactiveRecognition: [[Film/OnceUponATimeInTheWest Harmonica]] is Igor.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Jarrod. The museum he adored and poured his heart and soul into is destroyed because of his partner's greed; he himself is horribly disfigured and while he doesn't totally lose use of his hands, can't sculpt the way he used to.

Igor.

* TheyJustDidntCare: The director, Andre de Toth, was ''[[DeafComposer blind in one eye]]'' (he had a glass eye then and wore an eyepatch in his later years). Apparently the studio higher-ups didn't think depth perception was a requirement for making a 3D movie.
