* MagnificentBitch: [[ActionGirl Ally Mayfair-Richards]] was initially TheParanoiac, but would become [[TookALevelInBadass much more fearless and conniving]]. After being released from a psychiatric ward, she would soon [[spoiler:seek vengeance on [[BigBad Kai Anderson]] and his cult for tormenting her. She integrated herself into the cult where she manipulated Kai into killing his siblings and his most loyal followers on the pretense that they were turning against him; Ally also kills her own wife for joining Kai's cult, partaking in her torment and taking her son away from her. She would then have the FBI raid Kai's hideout completely dismantling his cult and arresting Kai. Decided to steal Kai's plan to run for a seat in the Senate, Ally would then arrange Kai's escape from prison, only to have him publicly humiliated on live-television before having him killed. Winning a seat in the Senate and later starting her own cult, Ally Mayfair-Richard undoubtedly proves that there is something more dangerous in this world than a humiliated man: [[WomanScorned a nasty woman]]]].

** Seeing the shady news characters played by Creator/EmmaRoberts and Creator/DermotMulroney having an affair is now more fitting considering [[Film/Scream4 both]] [[Film/ScreamVI actors having played]] [[spoiler:[[Characters/ScreamJillRoberts Ghost]][[Characters/ScreamGhostface face]] in the ''Franchise/{{Scream}}'' films, maybe Emma is seducing Dermot to TakeUpMySword as the next Ghostface after she has fallen]].

* EvilIsSexy: Despite all apparent efforts to the contrary on the part of the show itself, as well as the characters (particularly Kai) being very [[BaseBreakingCharacter polarizing]], Kai and [[PsychoLesbian Winter]] have both still managed to attract substantial EstrogenBrigade fanbases for this reason.

* WTHCastingAgency: A few fans have taken issue with the fact that Chaz Bono, a trans man, is portraying a Trump supporter when trans people are among the marginalized groups that the show would typically focus on. However, the {{Irony}} of this [[IntendedAudienceReaction may be intentional]].

* MemeticMutation: A joke on Tumblr at the time about "Right in front of my salad?"[[labelnote:Explanation]]Originated from a gay pornography, now used to mock over-sensitive people or [[AcceptableTargets vegans]][[/labelnote]] ended up tying into a scene in ''Cult'' where [[spoiler:Ally walks in on two clowns having sex in the produce aisle]].

* HilariousInHindsight: In the ending of the next season, it would be Billie Lourd's turn to kill the main male BigBad, like how Ally did with Kai.

* FanDisservice: Some viewers may find that Evan Peters' natural good looks are cancelled out by Kai's cult personality status, psychotic tendencies and [[ArsonMurderandJaywalking stringy blue hair]].

* AcceptablePoliticalTargets: Social Justice Warrior liberals, Alt-Right reactionaries, and people who voted for third party candidates. Somewhat played with in that all three demographics are examined and analyzed further and are usually humanized to at least some degree.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: When Ryan Murphy revealed that season 7 would involve the 2016 election, he received a massive negative reaction from fans, many of whom wanted to watch TV to get away from the politics that had absorbed nearly every other piece of media the past couple of years. This led to Ryan going on multiple interviews explaining that the plot won't be about the election entirely, and saying that the original interview was him joking. Both he and actors of the show went on to explain that the season wasn't about what people [[{{Anvilicious}} assumed]] it would be. It was later revealed that the season premiere would take place on election night, and that Donald Trump himself would not have a huge impact on the story's overall narrative.

* FoeYay: Kai has this with literally everyone. Kai and Ally especially - they ooze this in "Drink the Kool-Aid," where he does things like rubbing up against her from behind and sniffing her neck, which she doesn't appear to mind (though admittedly all of her actions at this point have the express purpose of manipulating Kai into trusting her, so it's doubtful she would show it if she did).
** Winter and Ally had more sexual chemistry than either OfficialCouple Ally/Ivy or Ivy/Winter.

* MindGameShip: Ally/Kai. Yes, there is fic for it. The fact that they have some serious FoeYay in later episodes helps, and the relationship is placed firmly in this territory by him manipulating her in the first half of the season and her turning the tables on him and doing the exact same in the second half.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: When Kai starts to hallucinate Charles Manson in the final episodes of the season, Manson specifically denies being a SpiritAdvisor, since he's still alive in prison. The real Manson died five days after the season finale aired.
