* CloneDegeneration: The DNA Delivery clones employed by Bedlam are apparently so faulty that being hit hard enough (either by a board to the head or getting tossed out of a moving hovercraft at high speed) causes them to disolve into a puddle of goo (that can momentarily reform before splatting again) that, according to Loogie, tastes minty.

* CompanionCube: Loogie has a sock puppet named Dr. Pinch who is a good deal saner than the hand that he sits on. The other characters treat him as if he's perfectly normal (Dr. Pinch, not Loogie - they know Loogie's insane). He's also capable of carrying on a full conversation while Loogie is soundly asleep, and will even maintain his voice and personality if one of the other characters picks him up... In fact he was once able to enter a computer simulation when the mind scanner was on his head.

* CurbStompBattle: In "Optigogs", Fizz, Ed and Ol' Skool come across a rival team called the Twilighters who aim to incapacitate them. Within a few seconds, Ol' Skool has them incapacitated before Fizz and Ed can jump in. The looks on the two kids' faces are priceless, with Ed's Slammer exaggeratingly falling limp like a noodle.

The Neo-Dermis, a supersuit and one of Ed's Upgrade Artifacts, is never seen again after its titular episode despite one of the reasons Bedlam . Many of the other artifacts seen in various episodes, such as the cloaking device that Dirk had in "Locked", or the artifact that Ed finds in "Dilemma", also don't appear again after the episodes that introduce them.

* BlueOrangeContrast: The Slammer's energy is normally blue when used by Ed, but orange when Edlam takes it.

* NonHumanSidekick: Series BigBad Mr. Bedlam had a computer AI named Kora, who tended to function as the system administrator for his evil empire (while also giving snarky comments on the side). Similarly, his toaster apparently grew a skinny body to become the robot Crouch, who tended to be somewhat less snarky and more of a suck-up but who nonetheless seemed to be the one who helped designed the vehicles for the evil mooks. On the good guys' side, the title character wound up acquiring Torch, a sentient navigational program that helps to keep Ed in the loop as to his surroundings, for his HoverBoard. Perhaps the oddest NHS of all is Cloudcuckoolander Loogie's sidekick Dr. Pinch, a catfish puppet decked out in a doctor's outfit.

The stories don't have to rely on personality tropes to advance the plot - instead they allow the characters to play off each other with unique and varied results.

* SheatheYourSword: One two-parter had the gang gather a collection of MacGuffins via a series of Secret Tests of Character. Burn's test involved facing a robotic gargoyle in what appeared to be a trial by combat, only to be constantly beaten. It wasn't until he saved the gargoyle after it had fallen over a ledge did he recieve his MacGuffin. Lampshaded by Ol' Skool:

* PlotPants: The Dojo kids normally wear a basic set of clothing, switching to power-up gear (complete with helmets and padding) to do their deliveries or fight Bedlam. However, in one episode they decide to go clubbing and switch to civilian outfits (which are, in fact, Palette Swaps of their regular models --not one polygon has changed).

Welcome to Progress City - a utopia of the far future where towering skyscrapers, flying vehicles, and robots are commonplace. Courier companies race through this gargantuan metropolis to deliver all sorts of technologies and marvels to the populace, and one of the best in the business is Dojo Delivery. Run by Anthony Ol' Skool, Dojo Delivery's employees are an oddball gang of teenagers brought under Ol' Skool's protection and mentorship, including TheLeader Burn, ActionGirl Deets, diminutive GadgeteerGenius Fizz, and Loogie, who is... well, Loogie. Their newest employee however is Ed, a boy with superhuman reflexes and no memories of his childhood who tends to experience sudden clairvoyant visions and often receives mysterious equipment far more advanced than anything Progress City has to offer from unknown benefactors.
