This also makes it harder on the child, since while a normal assignment would forget they ever had a Guardian would.

Countless other cameos appear throughout the backgrounds of the series, as Jonathan has a long-running tradition of offering free cameo slots for the original character designs of his readers in order to fill out scenes with larger crowd shots. Each page that features cameos also includes a line of credits in the commentary listing the owners of each character that has been featured.

* FurryConfusion: The comic features anthropomorphic cats, among other species. Yet Korgar has several non-sentient housecats ("minions") that he keeps in his desk and brings to restaurants. And then there's the fact that Chelsea has a pet bunny (who's really Persephoni, her Guardian).

I am the author of Peter & Company, and I do not want any references to the first version of the comic (published online prior to 2005), since it is unrelated to the current series and is no longer hosted by me anywhere online. I do not want it mentioned here since its story has literally nothing to do with the Guardian story of modern P&C. I have gone through and removed any references to it, as well as clarifying/cleaning up inaccurate information in other areas.

'''''Peter and Company''''' is a furry webcomic by artist Jonathan Ponikvar. The first comic started as a whacky slice of life with about 224 strips and lasted from 1998-2004. It eventually went through a ContinuityReboot, with the first strip of the second comic having surfaced on January 1, 2005. The second comic can be found [[http://www.peterandcompany.com here]].

The current comic initially started as a semi-autobiography, and then it went back to its slice-of-life roots later down the line. The story revolves around Peter, a 12-year-old cat who is having a difficult time surviving through childhood. One day he makes a new friend in the form of Seth, a white-suited duck. Peter quickly realizes that Seth is [[InvisibleToNormals only visible to him]], providing the backdrop for the rest of the story. Seth follows Peter around in order to offer him advice without directly interfering and guidance through the various plotlines. There are other children who have special friends in the world as well, and each of them can see the others' companions and even talk to them. Seth and the rest are referred to only as "Guardians," leaving the theological undertones up to the interpretation of the viewer.

[[folder: The original comic (1998-2004)]]
* CheerfulChild: Chelsea exhibits nothing but happiness in the comic
* ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs: Essentially what Chelsea turns her cereal into by dumping an entire box of cereal.
* FullyDressedCartoonAnimal: Inverted; Betsy isn’t wearing anything at all.
* ShoutOut: On the 6th strip, while being babysat by Betsy, Chelsea off-screen chases geese from their habitat [[Webcomic/SabrinaOnline much like another hyperactive child once did]]
* SugarCausesHyperactivity: The first few pages of the comic revolve around Chelsea loading her bowl of cereal with sugar, which leads to her running around and acting silly.

Added DiffLines:

* BecomingTheMask: Justified; [[spoiler: Persephoni believes she would be able to help Chelsea better as a normal being rather than being an Elite Guardian where she would just merely be a pet to comfort her]].

Added DiffLines:

* BlessedWithSuck: Being an Elite Guardian pretty much means all you can do is be a pet that provides emotional comfort to their child, rather than being able to directly guide them like a regular Guardian would.
